But what if I could have the Spirit of God live inside of me then the Holy Spirit can teach me things about God I would not know no other way? So the Holy Spirit told men what to write. And so by studying the word of God, we can know the mind of God. You see what he says here, look there in verse 15 of chapter two. But he that is spiritual, judges all things or is able to discern all things.

Yet he himself is judged or discerned of no man. The natural man cannot discern a spiritual man. A lost man cannot understand a Christian. No more than a lost man can understand the word of God. A lost man cannot understand God. A lost man cannot understand Christ. Well, if you have trusted Christ as your savior and you decide to be a spiritual God, the individual, and you want to believe what the word of God says and you grow in the Lord, the lost man is not gonna understand you.

Other Christians might understand you, but the lost man cannot because those things spiritually discerned and he doesn’t have the Holy Spirit. In verse 16, for who hath known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? I mean before you ever trusted Christ as your Savior, did God ask you your opinion on things? Whenever he was going to create the heavens on the earth, he called you into a secret chamber and said, hey, what do you think? How do you think I ought to do this?

The Lord did not seek our counseling. But once you trust Christ as your Savior and and the Holy Spirit indwells you in the last part of that verse, but we have the mind of Christ. So God wants us to believe that His Word is the mind of God. That’s why I often tell people, the Bible is God’s mind on paper. So when you study the mind of God, you’ll know how God thinks, how God feels. What He wants you to do, you can understand the will of God for your life.

So it’s a tremendous thing. And the reason you want to study the Word because of the Holy Spirit and dwelling you is because the Holy Spirit now can teach you things that the world cannot know. See there in verse 12, but he says, now we have received past tense, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. See when he says in verse 10, but God had revealed them unto us, that’s revelation.

And in verse 12, now we have received that illumination. You notice down here in verse 13 when he says, but which the Holy Ghost teaches comparing spiritual things with spiritual, that’s inspiration. So we’re able to study spiritual things by spiritual means. Spiritual things can only be earned by the Spirit. And so that’s why the Lord gave us His Spirit so that we could really know the things that God has given to us. Now, take your Bible and turn to the book of Deuteronomy in the Old Testament.

Deuteronomy and chapter 8. Deuteronomy chapter 8. Now I’ve covered this whole chapter before where he lays before them life and death Look at in verse 1 the start in verse 1 all the commandments which I command thee this day Shall you observe to do that you may live and Multiply and go in and possess the land which the Lord swear unto your fathers and And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness.

And get why he did what he did. Once you understand a little bit about why God did what he did with the nation of Israel, you’ll understand why he does a little bit of a few things with us. Picture Israel as a person, not as a nation. And you’d be surprised how much better it looks. You can understand. God deals with Israel as though Israel was a person, one person. Like Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. And so God deals with that person.

Like that person is just one person. And there were times when Israel was obedient and then Israel was disobedient and God would bless and God would chasten and kick him out of the land and all kind of things. But it’s like a person. And once that person is a miracle child born by faith, they’ll always be. And that’s why in spite of all that the religion of Islam wants to do Israel, there will always be a remnant. They can’t annihilate them.

Can’t. They’ll try. And if Christ doesn’t come back at the end of the tribulation period, they could. Because He says that there could be no flesh be left alive on the face of the year. So I notice what He says here in verse 2. He led these 40 years in the wilderness, get this in your underlining, to humble thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thine hearts. God wants to reveal to them their problems, their pride, teach them humility, teach them how to walk by faith.

Because remember, they didn’t have water spigots everywhere they turned. They didn’t have McDonald’s. They didn’t have electricity, but do you realize that God gave them a fire at night to keep them warm, cloud by day to keep them cool? He led them in the wilderness for 40 years and gave them miracle food. He taught them how to walk by faith. They had to trust the Lord. It was totally impossible for Israel to supply their needs. So God, I believe in many cases because here we are thousands of years later and God is going to teach you how to walk with him.

And sometimes he kind of turn off some light and he might withhold something from you. But look what he said he did to him. I like this. He says to humble thee, to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou would have keep his commandment or not. So God tested them. Now God of course already knows that God’s revealing that to them and gonna reward them if they obey and chasing them if they don’t. In verse 3, and he humbled thee and suffered thee or permitted thee to hunger.

Hm. Fed thee with manner which thou knewest not. Neither did thy fathers know. They had no clue when they started walking through the the sea and getting on the other side, they had no clue how in the world Moses was going to feed them and give them water to drink in the desert for 40 years. They had no clue. But God already knew how he was going to do it. And he says, what else he says, that he might make thee know that man does not live by bread only.

But by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of the Lord, death man live. Did you know if it wasn’t for the grace of God that you can’t live? Now, you and I, we can’t make ourselves live. If God wanted to, He can start part of our little heartbeat, and you’re only one step between you and that. We live only by the grace of God. And He makes this statement. Now, do you remember we read that while I go?

Or I quoted it to you from the book of Matthew, where Satan tempted the Lord after 40 days and 49. I guess you’d be hungry too if you hadn’t ate for 40 days and 40 nights. And he says, he can take these stones and turn them into bread. He says, get behind me Satan. And verse 4, thy ramen. That means your clothes that you had on. Wax not old upon thee. Neither did thy foot swell these 40 years. You know, after a while, you started getting a little bit old, been on your feet too long.

Do you feel swell a little bit? You ever take a trip in a car and after a while you get out and your ankles are swollen a little bit? He said, look, 40 years, your feet never swell. Neither did get it in 40 years. And he says, and your raiment waxed not old upon you. I mean, I want to how long that woman wore that dress? 40 years? And you women are always, you know what? The only woman that ever says, I don’t have anything to wear was even, she told the truth.

Superman says, my wife’s an angel, she’s always up in the air, nothing to wear and harping on something. We Westbrook get dead after a while. So in verse 4, thy raiment wax is not all upon thee, neither did thy foot swell these forty years, because God wants you to know there’s something more important than the food you eat or the clothes that you wear. There’s something about what God said, his word. You and I are supposed to have a holy reverent of respect for this book.

And did you know that a lot of people just never have any time actionGroup to read it? It’s a divine book, inspired book. And there’s truth in this book that God has Ö you. But you’ll never 698 find them if you don’t read them. The preacher can’t tell you everything is in this book. I haven’t yet begun to learn. I’m just kind of scratching a surface. I’veWikipedia been reading and[] studying it for forty-nine years. So do you think you’re going to know it all?

Angel, you think you’re going to get it all in four years? I don’t think so. Now the boy loves the word, but you’re just learning how to study. And itGGGGGGGGast your lifetime. WT You’ll be studying this book. Look there in Matthew chapter five. Matthew and chapter five. Verse book in the New Testament, Matthew, chapter five. And look at verse 13. Matthew chapter five, I want you to see it in verse 13. Yee are the salt of the earth. You’re the salt of the earth.

I guess I could say I’m a salt shaker. Sometime I just try to shake people so I can get the-, salt out. Some Christians they just, have you ever had some salt that won’t pour? a little damp, just won’t pour. But if the salt has lost a savour, how do you salt and salt? Well, it is things for good for nothing but to be cast out and be trodden under the foot of men. You’re the light of the world.

City that is set on the hill can’t be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel. But what is this? We often sing that little song, this little light of mine. I’m going to let it shine. Don’t we? We like that song. This little light of mine. But what we said in verse 16, you ever wonder, well, what is that little light? I know we’re saying, it’s the light of mine. Get the little kids to sing it.

I’m going to let it shine. I’m not going to let Satan blow it out. Nope. Let your light in verse 16. So shine before men that they may see your and here’s the light. You ought to line us to work. You’re good works. You see, }; there is a place for good works. After salvation, but you don’t do good works to be saved. But does God want us to do good works? Yes. Ephesians 2.89, for by grace are you saved through faith, that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God not of works lest any man should boast.

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works. Not to be saved. But after you trust Christ’s Savior, God wasn’t because that’s the light that some people can see. And so therefore you’re supposed to be very careful. Of course there’s the word of God that is the light, the everlasting light and so forth, of course. But He says that they may glorify your Father, which is in heaven. Now look in verse 17. He says, think not Christ speaking.

He says, think not that I am come to destroy the law or the prophets. I am not come to destroy but to fulfill the law. He fulfilled the prophets, the prophecies that were given. Verse 18, for verily I send you till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle. Those are the two smallest little marks of the only, in the Hebrew alphabet. And he says, they can’t even pass. Every jot and tittle of the word of God is so important.

He says, shall I know wise pass from the law till all be fulfilled. God’s word is true. And you and I are supposed to believe that it’s true and have a respect for this book. That’s why I don’t like people changing the Bible. For example, I told somebody this. The King James may seem a little difficult at times to understand, but it’s accurate. Those others that are easier to understand, but they’re not accurate. So I’d rather have one that’s accurate, and then I can study to find out ii means.

But it’s already been translated. I don’t have to redo it again. I really don’t even like to correct words and so forth anyway, but there’s signs when some words, they mean it has changed, but that didn’t mean it was wrong when it was put in here. It’s just that we have change in languages and it doesn’t mean the same thing as it meant back then 400 years ago. Like the word to hinder. words have changed just a little bit and we’ll get into that another time.

So we have a precious book that we can read and we can study, we can believe in it. Take your Bible and turn to the book of Galatians in chapter 3. Galatians and chapter 3. You’ll notice in Galatians in chapter 3, that there is a A statement made to let us know the very words of the scriptures are important, whether they are singular or whether they’re plural. Zo that is important.apeshifter. You see, you have to change at least 10% of a book in order to have it copyrighted.

So the King James is not copyrighted. So if I want to write a Bible so that I can sell it. and have it copyrighted with my name on it. Well, I got to change 10% of what’s there. So many people have written their own little Bibles, but they have to change 10% of itissan. Now, which way would you change? And if you’re going to change 10%, you know that you can call it your own and then you can have it copyrighted.

That means that you can charge for yours and you can’t copy it. And there’s quite a few of them out there. But all of those is done, Not because they’re trying to make it more accurate to the original translation. They’re trying to make money. The purpose behind all these other versions is to make money. There’s people who want to make money andthe Bible is the best-selling book of all times. So why not change this book? Well, then somebody else changes and then somebody else changes.

Well, wait a minute. This, and you don’t have to worry about because it’s not copyrighted. This wasn’t done to make money. Downloadha If you want to, you can copy all of the King James you want to. Andhin I believe that it’s most accurate translation that we can have. So I kinda got used to it. 49 years ago somebody introducedlayout to me and I started using782 my sword. I’ve been a lot of battles with it. And I’ve killed quite a few enemies.

And I kind of like it’s got used to my sword and Somebody comes up and says I=> believe that sword will cut I Did deal I? I’m not going my sword away just because somebody else don’t like my sword I Like my sword and I’m used to my sword and why should I get rid of mine? For somebody else’s when I believe mine is sharper when I believe what I have is the best Now you can do whatever they want with all these other versions, but I like what I have, and that’s what I’m going to use.

Now I hope you understand that a little bit. But look what he says here in verse 16. Now to Abraham and his seed, singular, were the promises made. He say if not and the Adds which is plural, as of many, but as of one and the thy seed, which is Christ because the word been singular referred to Christ. whether a word was singular or plural was important in the word of God. And so we have something that we can read and trust and I don’t think we have to worry too much about it.

Take your Bible look there in the book of Exodus, the book of Exodus. All the way back there in the Old Testament. Exodus, you got Genesis Exodus and Exodus chapter 24. Exodus 24 and look there in verse three. Verse three. Notice what he says in verse three. And Moses came and told the people, and you ought to underline this phrase, all the words of the Lord. And all the judgments. And all the people answered with++++ voice and said resil words, which the Lord have said, we will do it.

The words, you ought to underline these are words. verse four and Moses wrote all the words of the Lord. Now either he did or he didn’t. If we can’t believe this in God, in the person of Jesus Christ says, Moses wrote about me. And the653 in haha, 18, or says I will raise up a prophet lack unto me, him you shall hear. And that’s Scythe talking about Jesus Christ. He says, Christ did, Moses wrote about me. And then he says, you don’t believe Moses, because if you were to believe Moses, you would have believed me because he told you about me.

So the words that Moses wrote were to be believed. And Jesus Christ put his stamp of approval upon the law and the prophets. The law, all the law, the conspiring, all the prophets, and the Psalms and all the Psalms. He says concerning me Luke chapter 24. But get what he says in verse four. And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord and rose up early in the morning, built an altar upon the hill, 12 pillars, according to the 12 tribes of Israel.

He sent young men of the children of Israel, which offered burn offers and sacrifice, peace offerings of the oxen unto the Lord, and blah, blah, blah, blah. In verse seven, and he took the book of the covenant, read in the audience of the people, and they said, all that the Lord had said, we will do and be obedient. So there was a covenant made. And the people were expected to fulfill their end of the bargain. Under the law, it was due, under grace done.

That’s the best way to separate the old covenant from the new covenant. Look in 2 Samuel, 2 Samuel and chapter 23, 2 Samuel and chapter 23. And I want you to see here in 2 Samuel 23, just a couple verses. But look what he says in these two verses verse one now these be the last words of David David the son of Jesse said and the man who was raised upon high The anointed of the God of Jacob and the sweet Samus of Israel I love them heard David sing I bet he could really play that harp and Never seen her that song ever played upon the harv sing glory land And so you can’t go to heaven, you can’t play a harp.

You gotta be able to play a harp. Okay, well maybe I, little, little, little lie. See he had a mark harp just like I did. Okay, well maybe he had strength. You know, but a harp’s a harp. End of commercial. I love a harp. But Davis, he was a sweet psalmist of Israel. Look how many psalms he wrote. You know those psalms, those were songs. Those are hymns, the songs that they sung. But then look what he says in verse two.

The spirit, and you’re not on the line this verse, the spirit of the Lord spake by me. And his word was in my tongue, the word. So whenever these prophets, whenever they wrote, they wrote the words that the Lord gave them. These holy men of God spake as they were moved or guided along by the Holy Spirit. and the very words that they used, not left up to men’s choice, but God did it. Look in Isaiah chapter 51, Isaiah chapter 51.

Isaiah chapter 51. Now there’s verses here that talks a little bit about the word of God. Talks a little bit about Jesus Christ. But I wanted you to see this, but I got to show you chapter 51st. Look there in verse 4, because I believe it’s a reference to Jesus Christ. The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to Him that is weary. to be good, to always have the right word to say to every person of whatever their need might be.

You just happen to have the right word. Or you got to be good. He says, he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth my ear to hear as the learn. The Lord God had opened my ear and I was not rebellious. Neither turned away back. I gave my back to the smiteers and my cheeks to them that plucked off Rohingventus. I had not my face from shame and WRITE any clue who that might be. This is talking about Jesus Christ.

This is Jesus Christ. And he says in…? In chapter 51, I want you to look there in the scripture. Chapter 51, looking verse 16. Verse 16 says, And I have put my words in thy mouth. And I have covered the in the shadow of mine hand that I may plant the heavens and lay the foundations of the year and say in the Zion, thou art my people. But the first part of that verse you ought to underline. I have put my words in thy mouth.

And so when they wrote, they wrote what God told them to write. That is so important to know and to believe that. Now look in Jeremiah, just a couple pages to your right, the book of Jeremiah. Now remember the Bible says about Jeremiah, he was the weeping prophet. He had a miserable life. He had a good ministry, but they made his life miserable. He had it bad. If you feel sorry for yourself sometime, lopp just read the book of Jeremiah.

You shouldn’t Scythe for yourself anymore. But look what he says in verse 4 then the word of the Lord, the word of the Lord came unto me saying, this is what the word of the Lord did. Before I formed the in the belly060imentary, I knew thee. And before thou, And before thou came his forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and Iiframe thee a prophet unto the nations. Then said I, then, Lord God)|, behold, I cannot speak. I am a child.

But the Lord said unto me, say not I am a child, for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee. And whatsoever I command thee, thou shalt speak. It appears he did not want to do it. He did not want to go. He even tried not to go, but he says his word was in my bones like a flame of fire and I could not hold, I could not stay. I had to do something about it. So in verse 8, be not afraid of their faces, for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the Lord.

I wonder why God says be not afraid of their faces, because I think he was afraid of their faces. Verse 9, then the Lord put forth his hand and touched my mouth. And the Lord sent me, Behold, and you ought to underline this, I have put my words in thy mouth. That’s inspiration. That’s why when we say we believe that the word of God is inspired. It means that God and God breathed into themReviewer and they. And they spoke his word or they He wrote his word and we have a copy of the word of God.

Behold, I have put my word in thy mouth. Now, next Sunday night, I’m going to speak on the word again, just so you know. I may have a couple more messages just on the importance of the word of God because I am so convinced it is so important because this is why we say, we believe, we believe, we believe. But if you lose confidence in the Word of God, they ain’t much hope for you. If you really know and believe this is the Word of God, you can trust it.

You can trust. You can rely upon Him. You can rest in the Lord. You can cast all of your cares upon Him because you know He cares. Why? Because the Word says so. But if you begin to doubt the Word, then fear will consume you. If you feed your faith, doubts will starve to death. But if you feed your doubts, then your faith will starve to death. You got to write that down. It is so important. I’ll say it again.

If you feed your faith, your doubts will starve to death. But if you feed your doubts, then your faith will starve to death. Do you get that? Just stay around here long enough. You just love it. Get a bunch of two little jewels every once in a while. We’ve been listening to Bibleline, a teaching ministry of Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida, with Dr. Ralph Arnold.
