But I want to bring you a message that I believe will help you, but there’s a lot to this sermon. I believe it helps the Christian understand that a lot of the Bible and in your Christian walk all in one message. It’s got a lot of doctrinal issues to it. But now if you want to daydream today, you’re not going to understand what I say. you’re going to have to follow me all the way, even the basic stuff that you do understand very easily, but it Ichenko I want you to stay with me if you don’t mind.
I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of Romans in chapter three. The book of Romans in chapter three, we start off with very simple verses. Very easy to understand. In Romans 3, I want you to look -> in verse 9. Romans 3, verse 9. What then? Are we better than they? No and no wise. But we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles that they’re all under sin. What it means is that they’re all under sin.
God is perfect, we’re not. And because of sin, we have come short of God’s perfection. Now to go to heaven we have to be justified, just as if I have never sin, equal with God in righteousness. But that’s not the case. God says in verse 19, now we know that what things so ever the law says to them that are under the law that every mouth may be stop at all the world, because all are under sin, all the world may become guilty before God.
So everyone born into the world is guilty before God. Now look back in verse 10. And as it is written, there is none righteous, no not one. There is none that understand it. There’s none that seeketh after God. They’re all gone out of the way. They are together become unprofitable. there’s none that doeth good, no not one. Sounds pretty definite to me. I don’t know if he could set it any clearer. Every man born into this world, God says, is a sinner.
See that in verse 23, all have sin. The whole world guilty before God, all under sin. Because we all have a sinful nature, we all sin and I want to use an illustration that I used a year ago. My arm represents our first birth. This is when we’re born into the world. When we’re born into this world, God says there’s none righteous, not one. There’s none that doeth good, not one. We have all sinned and come short of God’s perfection.
God said, there’s none that seeketh after God. So we’re all guilty, we’re all sinners, and the wages of sin is death. We’re all going to die. That’s why everyone born in this world is going to die. So that’s our first birth. Now look there in Romans in chapter 9 and verse 8. Romans chapter 9 and verse 8. It says, that is, they which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God. These that are born of the flesh, and that’s what I see this morning.
Everyone that has a physical birth born into this world, God says you are a child of the flesh. These are not the children of God. Now you may have heard about the fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man, but God says God is not our father. You’re not his child until you’re born into his family. And the flesh was not born into his family. So God may be your God and your creator, but he is not your husband.
father. You’re not his child until you’re born into the family of God. Now look there in 1 Corinthians in chapter 15. 1 Corinthians chapter 15. And you’ll notice there in verse 50. Verse 50. Now this I say brethren that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God neither death corruption inherit in corruption. These are not the children of God. You cannot flesh it by cannot inherit the kingdom of God. It means this one can’t inherit eternal life. This one can’t go to heaven because heaven is perfect.
God is perfect. We’re not. This birth can’t go to heaven. There’s nothing you can do about this. You can try to change it if you want to and send this God of Church, but then he’s going to get him to heaven. You can send this guy to every Bible study, every service of the Church, and give all the money you want, but it’s not going to get this guy to heaven. You see, he can’t get there by anything that you do.
We have all sinned, come short of the glory of God, and we’re condemned already. We’re just waiting for the day of execution, and then to be eternally separated from God, for all eternity. That’s why Jesus says, you must be born again. And he says this, as many as received him to them gave He the right the power, the authority to become the sons of God. The only way that you can go to heaven whenever you die is you have to have another burden.
But the other one is not something that you produce. It is you believing that when Christ died on the cross that He paid for all of your sins. And that only thing you can do is the belief he did it for you. You cannot work your way to heaven by any good days you do. God is not going to save you because you go to church. He’s not going to save you and give you this new birth as a reward for you behaving yourself down here.
No. It has nothing to do with how you live. That’s what many times blows a person’s mind. They can’t believe that God would do this, make it so easy. And yet if it’s so easy, why can’t everybody believe it. It’s almost unspeakable. It’s almost unbelievable that you could have the free gift of eternal life and do absolutely nothing for it. And they go to heaven when you die. The Bible says that there was a man that came to see Jesus one night, Nicodemus.
He was the ruler of the Jews. He came to Jesus by night and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God, for no man can do these miracles that thou do it. except God be with him. And Jesus said unto him, barely, barely, I said to you, except a man be born again. He cannot see the kingdom of God. Verse five, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Flash is flesh and spirit is spirit.
Marlon, I said that you must be born again. So a man has to be born again. Flash is flesh. There’s another one totally separate from it. So when you trusted Christ as your Savior, you believe he got on that and pay for your sins. When God said that He gives you a new birth, take your Bible and turn it into the book of 1 Peter 1. 1 Peter 1, make sure you look at this because this is very, very important.
This is foundation for other things that I want to share with you. 1 Peter 1, look at verse 23. 1 Peter 1, verse 23 says, being born again. Not a corruptible seed, but have been corruptible or look a bit. This one was born of a corruptible seed. I got it from my mom and dad who got it from their mother and dad who got it from their mother and dad goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. So that’s where that corruptible seed and because it was corrupted my children became corrupted.
And now I’ve got grandchildren. They’re not. Especially my granddaughter. She was born without a sinful nature. Now all have one and so this is the flesh but the new birth born again this one is born of an incorruptible seed and because it’s incorruptible this one can’t be corrupted. He can’t sin. And if they can’t sin, they can’t die. If they can’t die, how long would it live? Forever. Now look what he says here in verse 23. He says, but of incorruptible Bible word of God which live it and abide it forever.
So this birth was born from the word of God that lives in a Bible forever. This is an incorruptible seed. If God is God and He is, then He is. God is perfect and He is and God can’t sin and He can’t and He bothers a child. The child will be like the Father So this new birth here born of God Can’t sin can’t sin can’t die just like the Father and that’s why we have eternal life lives forever Now turning your Bible through the first John chapter three I want you to see this real quick First John chapter three and verse nine Verse 9, whosesoever is born of God that not commit sin?
For his seed remain at the end, and he cannot sin because he is born of God. Look at him. Which one is born of God? The second verse. Born of God can’t sin. Can’t sin, can’t die. Whose who ever born of God does not commit sin for his seed remain than him and he can not. So this is why once you trust Christ’s Savior, you will be a child of God for how long we’re already turned to. Now what you begin to understand is you also understand that there’s a problem that comes in our life.
Turn very quickly to the book of Romans in chapter 7. In the book of Romans in chapter 7, I want you to look at this real quick. In verse 15, he says, for that which I do, I allow no. Well, what I would, that do I not. But what I hate, that do I. If then I do that which I would not, I can send into the law that it is good. Now that it is no more I that do but send that dwell within me.
For I know that in me that is in my flesh dwelleth no good thing for the world was present with me but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not but the evil which I would not that I do. Now if I do that I would not is no more I that do it but send that dwell within me. No, live here. What Paul is saying after being saved for about 25 years.
He said I got a problem. What he’s saying is, what I want to do right evil is present with me. And now sometimes I do the things that I don’t want to do. He says, I know that in me that is in my flesh, I brought up no good thing. But how to perform? How do I live? What I want to do right and I don’t want to do right. So there’s a spider back and forth in your life.
And you want to serve the Lord and if part of it says no. You want to read the Bible and you know and you want to go to church and do right But then you got a part of it the don’t see this one over here doesn’t want to do anything It honors God and this one only can do right. This one only does wrong and where they live Inside of you You see this one the flesh you have an old simple nature in your flesh.
You are the soul and And when you were born into this world, so you were born into flesh, you were off the flesh. And if you’re born into flesh, and you live in the flesh, and you die in the flesh, you won’t die, be turned to separate from God. That’s why if a man, he says, believe in me, he shall die in his sins. I mean, he dies as a lost man, he dies in the flesh. When you trust Christ as your savior, you have a new birth, and this one is in your spirit.
And the Holy Spirit of God bears witness with your spirit that you are a child of God. So you have two verses and they take each other. They fight all the time and they live inside of you. So now you have this war going on. So he says, how am I supposed to succeed? And this is why it’s so difficult for a child of God to walk with the Lord when they got this old nature. and just beats the tar on them and the war is on.
And some Christians are so spiritually skinny they could use a chariot for a hula hoop. They don’t have the strength that they need to have a victory in their Christian life. And so they’ll go to church on Sunday and then they got five days, six days, they do whatever they want to do. And they just buy like, and never have any victory in their Christian life. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just serve the Lord and have victory in your life all the days of your life?
Wouldn’t you like that? Well, there’s a way. Now take a Bible look here in the book of Galatians. The book of Galatians and chapter 5. And you’ll notice here in Galatians in chapter 5, look in verse 16, this I say then, walk in the Spirit, you shall not fulfill but lust of the flesh. That means that you still have the lust of the flesh. Walk in the Spirit, only Christian has his choice. You walk in the Spirit, you walk for the lust of the flesh, you still got him.
You’ll have the lust of the flesh all the days of your life. And he says in verse 19, now the words of the flesh are manifest. If you walk in the flesh, can a Christian commit these things? I had a man ask me one day. He says, I can still rebel against God. I said, sure can. He says, you mean I can become a drop? So go to heaven. I said, sure can. He said, I mean, I can commit murder.
I knew where he would have him. Am I as a preacher, opposed to say, yes, a murder thing go to heaven? So I said, yes. Well, that ain’t right. I said, but if he did get there, be grace wouldn’t it? Yeah. I said, for by grace are you saved through faith, that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God, not of works. But what about a Christian? In verse 19 tells you what a Christian can do if he walks in the flesh.
He says, adultery, fornication, and cleanness, assibiousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, burial, tribulation, draft, trash, additions, heuracies. Now, he envies murders, druggling such life of which I told you before, that I told you in time, the day which you should think, and I’m here to keep him a gun. Now, look at that. Those who walk in the flesh can produce the works of the flesh. You in the body in this room, if you know Christ is your savior, you are capable of everything that’s listed there.
You can do that. You shouldn’t do that. Of course you shouldn’t. But if you do, that’s the flesh, and God’s still going to judge you in the flesh and condemn that in the flesh. you could die here in this whole life. They may put you in prison or they may fry you, not eat it by you. They may eat it by you. And yes, there’s a great Christ to pay. So you can’t live as you please and get away with it.
Now verse 22 talks about the fruit of the Spirit and this is if you walk in the Spirit, this is what you can have. So you have a choice. Now a lot of this many times people don’t really understand and catch what the Lord is talking about here and how he means it. I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of Exodus in chapter 17. The book of Exodus in chapter 17. Exodus chapter 17 Israel is a type of a person who trusts Christ’s Savior.
So when you trust Christ’s Savior you are a child of God. You had a by faith miracle birth. Israel is a faith child. Isaac was a faith child, miraculously born. And because he was born, and then you had Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. Jacob was named Israel because he wrestled with the angel all night and went dead and go. And he says, I’m not going to let you go unless you bless me. And he wanted the blessing of God. And God says, the angel, what is your name?
He says from now on your name is Israel. So he did him another name. So as we read the Old Testament and we hear about that nation of Israel, we could also look at the nation of Israel as a person, one individual. And Israel can never be killed. Israel can never be a malleable. Now the nation can be taken out of their land, but Israel as a person will always be. They will always be the Jewish people. They represent the second birth.
When you trust Christ as Savior, you’re just like that. You’re just like this miracle child. That’s why we call it Israel, God’s chosen people. Because they were a chosen people. They are a chosen people. And things start and stop because of God dealing with the nation of Israel. And so it says in verse 8, then came Amalek, then came Amalek. They were coming, you see, through the wilderness. And Israel was learning something that not everybody loved them. And Amalek wanted to kill him.
So at verse 9, and Moses said in the Joshua, choose us out men. Go out, fight with Amalek. And tomorrow I stand on the top of the hill and so forth and trotted my hand. And they did out, looking verse 11, he came to pass when Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed. Let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. Moses’ hand got heavy. They took the stone, put it under him, and blah, blah, blah. You see, when he held up the hand, Israel prevailed.
And when he then emmilek revile. So this is a type of this war in the Old Testament. As you study the Old Testament you find a lot of stories. The New Testament you find the doctrine. So if you take the doctrine of the New Testament you can go back to the Old Testament and find there’s a lot of types in the Old Testament and stories that illustrate those typical doctrinal truths that we take for granted. But they understood things by stories.
You study the tabernacle and everything in the tabernacle is Christ Christ Christ. It’s all in Christ, but it’s a type. And so he says you’re going to have trouble with Amalet. Look in verse 14. And the Lord said in the Moses, write this word, memorial in the book. Rehearsed in the years of Joshua. And I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek to remember heaven. And Moses goes to knowledge and blah blah blah. In the last part of verse 16, he says, the Lord will have a warm of Amalek from generation to generation.
Now as long as we’re in this world, we’re going to have trouble with Amalek. See this old nature you have, that’s Amalek. Amalek, this old nature lives on the inside of you. Amalek, believe it or not, came first. mentioned in the book of Genesis, talking about how that he came first and was brought into the world. In chapter 36 of the book of Genesis, and talks about the children of Esau. And you’re going down through there, it says about Amalek, and these were the kings before they ever became a king in Israel.
So they had kings first. When you and I were born in the world, The flesh came before the Spirit. You have came and abled, came and came before Abel. And then you’ve also got Esau and Jacob. Esau first and then Jacob. And you have Ishmael and then Isaac. The flesh is first. You had Amalek from Esau before. And they became nations before Israel became a nation. And so they went down into Egypt for 400 years and came out a great nation.
And now the battle begins. And there has been this battle going back and forth all these years. Now the Bible tells in the book of Jeremiah 17 verse 9 that the heart of man is deceitful and desperately wicked and who can know it? Well that’s talking about this whole sinful nature. Where’s as a sinful nature dwell inside of you. It’s depth spurt, it’s wicked. You cannot truly understand why you do what you do. You don’t understand how all about the sinful nature.
God just simply says, don’t trust it. He’ll lie to you, he’ll deceive you. You may show mercy to Amalek, but Amalek will never show mercy to you. Amalek only has one desire and has to do you in to ruin your life and he doesn’t care how he has to do it and he’ll line you and deceive you to ruin your life. That’s that ocean from nature that you were born with and you’ll think a thousand time that if your idea you thought of this and you thought of that and you do this and the devil is using no amulek inside of you to lure you to do anything he wants you to do.
Wake up But don’t let Amalek do that to you. And the only way you can defeat Amalek is to be strong in the Lord, in the power of His mind. And then you can discern what Amalek’s up to and how he works so that whenever he wants to do something, you say, not this time. And you can put him down. But this battle is going to go on and this battle is real. Israel is what Israel was literally here and that Amalek was here and they have literally had their battles and it’s going to come.
Take your Bible looking to do the Ronomy chapter 25, do the Ronomy and chapter 25. Do the Ronomy 25 and here it makes a statement in verse 17, look at verse 17. He says, remember what Amalek did unto thee, by the way, when you were come forth out of Egypt and how, get this, this is what Amalek did. As the children of Israel were going through the wilderness, through the desert, how he met thee by the way, smote behind most of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee when thou was faint and weary and he feared not God.
So you know that Amalek has no fear of God. Your old sinful nature does not fear God. Hates God. This old sinful nature is the nature of the devil. That’s why he says, concerned in the flesh, year of your father, the devil, and the works of your father, he will do. That’s why the devil is a liar. The devil is a murderer. The devil is a deceiver. And so are you in the flesh. And you’re capable of doing every wicked deed known to man in the flesh.
And he says now do you remember what am I like bit to you? By the way Whenever you were coming through and he would wait and he would smoke behind those in over heat always get those who were stragglers their safety in numbers When people come together and they pray for one another and courage one another because Amalek is after every one of us Just like I am Israel and inside of me I’ve got this old Amalek and he’s trying to destroy me.
So we need to realize that’s what Amalek is doing to every other child of God and every one of us in this room got a little Amalek, a little Paris living inside of us and I saw the Ben-Lon, I saw the Boussaint living inside of you. Yeah I guess you could say a little Mike Tyson, this is one to beat you up, He sent you down. So he says, that were feeble and behind me. He says, when the vow was faint and weary, do you know the same verses on New Testament, the book of Galatians in chapter 6?
Faint not, be not weary and well doing, or in due season you shall reap if you faint not. It means if you don’t quit, don’t start. Then a straggler, you realize that a lot of people that I’ve known over the years, they’re strong in the Lord, they go to Sunday school, they go to church Sunday morning Sunday night Wednesday night and then after a walk, well I can’t come on Wednesday night, then they can’t come on Sunday night, then they can’t come to Sunday school, they’re sitting up there out of all together.
Well I don’t know what happened. I do. It’s called Amalek. Amalek will defeat you. I’ve seen Amalek destroy marriages. been married for years, loved each other. And all of a sudden, no amulek gets stirred up and stirred the other amulek in the wagon, amulek in the man, and they go at each other. That’s not the new birth. That’s the old one that’s fighting. The new one doesn’t do that. The new one doesn’t want a divorce. That’s the flesh that wants that divorce.
That’s what that ruins the children. That’s because the children become rebellious. Now people can do whatever they want to do with their life, but remember behind the scenes there’s an amalek living inside of you. And the last thing we’re supposed to do is try to grow a vault amalek. Some men they learn how to deal with their wives. They know what they like and they know what they don’t like. And then they own purpose they do it. Just to irritate.
They know what they’re doing, but they still fight over nothing. Like I told you last week. When that woman, she says, honey, Christmas is coming, I want something shiny. I want to go from zero to 150 in three seconds. Did he get her back and shit. And then, the war begins.
