Turn in your Bible to the book of Zechariah, the book of Zechariah. Gonna look at some scriptures today that, well, if Jesus Christ is not the Messiah, somebody has to fulfill these scriptures. If he’s not the one, then somebody somewhere has to do it if the Word of God is true. And I believe that it is. In Israel I enjoy kind of mingling some talk with a Jewish guide. And one day I saw her downstairs and my wife she says, Yankie, she’s sitting over there.

Once you go talk to her, well at the moment I really didn’t feel too good. I really didn’t want to. But when my wife says, Yankee, you ought to go talk to her, then I go do it. See, there’s the Holy Spirit and there’s my wife. And sometimes it’s hard to tell the difference. So I was told that you’d have a happy marriage if you would just obey the scripture that’s in the Old Testament. And she told me about it.

She says, it says, husbands obey your wives and all things for this is right. She says, it’s in the Hebrew, it’s back there somewhere, but in one of these days I’m going to come across that verse. But until then, I talked to the lady and she was very nice. I said, well, if this is not a good time, she says, no, no, no, no, no, no, that’s a good time. And so I sat down, I talked to her a little bit.

And I says, do you believe that the Messiah has already come? Or do you believe He has yet to come? She says, I believe that He has yet to come. I said, so you don’t believe Jesus Christ is the Messiah. I says, it looks like Israel ought to be so thankful for Jesus Christ. I says, you owe your very existence as a nation to Jesus Christ. You owe your economy to Jesus Christ. I says, the only reason America is behind Israel is because of Jesus Christ.

You You take away Jesus Christ and there isn’t much there. She said, oh, we’re thankful for all of you people that come over here. I said, but are you thankful for Jesus Christ? She says, well, we owe an awful lot to all of y’all. It was so difficult to pin her down, to get her to admit. And I always like to try to let him say face a little bit, you know. And I said, well, if Jesus Christ is yet to come, I said, He still has to be born in Bethlehem.

There got to be another guy then, it’s going to be born in Bethlehem. I call it says in Micah chapter 5 and verse 2, but thou Bethlehem Ephrata, though by being little among the thousands of Judea, yet out of thee shall he come forth. That is to be ruler in Israel, who’s going forth to have been from old everlasting. I says, got to come from them. utherford. If he’s going to be the king in Israel, I says, it’s amazing in the last 2000 years.

most of the temple records, all of it, it’s all been destroyed. How is anybody going to come and prove that he is of the line of David, has a right to claim the throne of Israel? How would he be able to prove who he is? I says when Jesus was here, he had a right to claim the throne of Israel. They couldn’t deny him that right. It’s just that they didn’t believe he was. The Messiah, but he was born king of the Jews.

And so he has to be of the tribe of Judah. You know, I believe, I may be wrong, I believe that someday they’ll be able to prove what tribe every Jew is from by their DNA. I believe there’s going to be something found out some miraculous way because there still has to be the 12 tribes. And in the tribulation period, there’s going to be a 12,000 from each tribe. So they’re going to know what tribe, and if they have the temple rebuilt, the tribe of Levi’s, the only one has the right to be able to go into that holy of holies.

But in any way, whatever, we had a good talk. But I said, if Jesus Christ is not the Messiah, then the Messiah still has to come. I believe that Jesus Christ is not a first and last name like Ralph Arnold. Jesus is Jehovah. Yeshua. He is the Savior. He is the keeper, the protector, the provider. He is salvation. Jehovah. Yeshua. He is the Messiah. That’s who he is. God in the flesh. And when they talked about the Messiah, it was that he was going to come and he was going to suffer and there’s going to be glory.

There’s going to be the kingdom. Zechariah, look in chapter 9. Here’s a verse that if this is not referring to Jesus Christ, then it has to happen yet in the future. But look what he says in verse verse nine, verse nine, rejoice greatly O daughter of Zion, shout, O daughter of Jerusalem, behold thy King, cometh unto thee. He is just and having salvation lowly and riding upon an ass and upon the cold, the fold of an ass. This is how you’re going to show up in Jerusalem.

And this isn’t they put the palm leaves and so forth that in front of them branches. Shout out to Hosanna, to the king of Israel, behold Matthew and chapter 21. And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem and were come to a Bethage, he says unto the Mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples, saying unto them, go into the village over against you and straight away you shall find an Aztide and a cult with her. Loose them and bring them unto me.

And any man say unto you, you shall say the Lord half need of them. And straight away or immediately will send them. And the disciples went and did as Jesus commanded them and brought the ass and the colt and put on them their clothes and they set him there on. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way. Others cut down branches from the trees and strawed them in the way. And the multitude that went before and that followed cried saying, Hosanna to the Son of David.

Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? And the multitude said, This is Jesus, the prophet of Nazareth, of Galilee. That’s who he was. All this written in advance. This is when he came the first time. Now go back there in the book of Zechariah. He made a payment for the sins of the world. The first time he comes see is lowly.

He comes as a lamb to be led to the slaughter. He opened not his mouth. Before his shears, he was dumb. He didn’t defend himself. He allowed them to do whatever they wanted to do with him. Now look there in Zechariah and I said unto them, if you think good, give me my price and if not for bear, good on the line, this next part of the verse. So they wait for my price, 30 pieces of silver. Jesus was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver.

That’s why I believe these connecting verses could have something to say about Jesus Christ. Now if this is not talking about Jesus Christ and it still has to be fulfilled, somebody will betray Him for the 30 pieces of silver. And the Lord said unto me, cast it unto the potter because the money was used about the potter’s fuel. You see how Scripture has the perfectly dubbed payo. And yet this was written almost 500 years. In advance, before Jesus Christ ever came.

Now, to me in my mind, if I was Jewish and I was reading these scriptures, I’d want to know who is this talking about? If I was to read Isaiah 53, Lord, who have believed our report and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? I want to know who in the world is talking about. grow up before him as a tender plant. All our iniquity was placed upon him. All we like, sheep have gone astray. And he had laid upon him the iniquity of us all.

I’d wonder what now who is he’s talking about? And yet he was to die, come back again from the dead. All that’s mentioned in Isaiah 53. And yet the Bible says there is a veil that’s pulled down over their eyes so that they cannot see. Those who want to see, can see. And those that don’t want to see, can’t see it. Zechariah chapter 12 and looking verse 1, the burden or the message, the warning here of the word of the Lord for Israel, saith the Lord, which stricts forth the heavens and left the foundation of the year, form the spirit of man which is within him.

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round the bow, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. We are living at a day and a time in this country. When Israel don’t have a lot of friends, but we’re living at a time where we’re seeing things with the accelerator on the floorboard and things are happening very quickly, even in our nation. But look in verse 10 of chapter 12 of Zechariah, and I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and of supplication, and they shall look upon me, and me is Tabbalah, chapter L-O-R-D, it’s the Lord, and they shall look upon Jehovah, whom they have pierced.

did they do this? See, this is a scripture that’s talking about in the future. Well, by the time this is fulfilled, the Lord had to come. See, that’s why when it talks about Jesus Christ and the government shall be upon his shoulder and he shall be called the wonderful counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. How can he be an everlasting Father unless he has an everlasting Son. And he is the mighty God. Jesus Christ was to be called Emmanuel, which being interpreted as God with us.

In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we beheld His glory. The The glory is of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. Jesus is Jehovah. Jesus is God. I’m not just believing in some man that lived or some prophet. Jesus Christ was God revealed in flesh. And He came into this world to do what He said He would do and He did it.

He came to suffer. He came to die. He knew He would be rejected. He came unto his own and his own received him not, but as many as received him to them gave he the power, the right, the authority to become the sons of God. You can’t make people trust Jesus Christ as their Savior. All we can do is present it and let people make their own decision. I’m just thankful that somebody explained that to me and I trusted Jesus Christ as my Savior.

You see, I was always under the impression, good boys went to heaven and bad girls went to hell. Well, I didn’t know any good girls that died. I guess they were all bad. But I was told that, you know, if you’re good, you’ll go up and if you’re bad, you’ll go down. But nobody ever told me how good it had to be to go up and nobody had to tell me how bad it had to be to go down.

So I had mixed emotions. I really didn’t know where I was going to go when I died. I wanted to go to heaven. I wanted to go to heaven so bad, and I didn’t want to go to hell, that I was afraid to swear a cuss word. I was afraid to take a smoke. I was afraid to take a drink, because I was told that those things would keep you from heaven. And they’ll send you straight to hell. When I was 18 years old, my father-in-law sat down with me in a living room and opened up the Bible and showed me John 3 16.

And when he explained John 3 16, I finally understood that if what he said was true, I’m on bust hell wide open, because I had never trusted Christ as my Savior. And I knew then that all I had to do is to believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross and paid for my sins. And if I trusted Him, that God would save me and give me eternal life. And I’d go to heaven because of it.

So simple. I didn’t have to earn it. I didn’t have to deserve it. I don’t have to live for Him. I didn’t have to stop anything, join Him, you think? Just believe it. that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I believe that I have eternal life and I’m going to heaven whenever I die. I didn’t know all this other stuff was in the Bible. The boy I’m glad when my father tried to start teaching me the Bible. I thought that’s such a big book.

I didn’t know there was an Old Testament and New Testament. I didn’t know. He just opened up the Gospel of John says, just start reading here. And I started reading the Gospel of John. It’s like a riot chapter 13, looking verse 6. And one shall say unto him, what are these wounds in thy hands? And he shall answer those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. He came into his own, he was rejected, they crucified him and says, they shall look upon me whom they have pierced.

And then And when he comes back and they see the scars, Israel will know he is the Messiah. He got these see the first time he came. The next time he comes back in power and great glory at the end of the tribulation period in order to keep man from destroying mankind from the face of the earth. Look what he says in verse 9 of chapter 14, and the Lord shall be king over all the earth. when the Lord comes back, the one that has the scars in his hands and his feet, he is going to be king over all the earth.

Did you know that the day is coming when little israel is going to be the greatest nation on the face of the earth? You see, I can’t believe that. Believe it. The book is true. And that day shall there be one Lord is name one. Look what he says there in verse 16, of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the king. The Lord of Host, and to keep the feast of the tabernacle, this day is coming.

This is into the millennium. See, God gives us a snapshot here, 500 years before Christ ever came. He’s coming. He is salvation. He is just. He makes a payment for the sins of the world. In Isaiah chapter 61, look there in verse 1, it makes a statement, the spirit of the Lord God is upon me. Now there’s the Trinity right there in that one verse. the Holy Spirit, Jehovah, and upon me Christ. Because the Lord hath the nordin’ me to preach good titans unto the meek, he hath sent me to bind up the broken heart of to proclaim liberty to the captain and the opening of the prison to them that are bound, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all that mourn.

Now, I want you to notice now in verse two, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, period. And the day of vengeance of our God is a different thought. Now, you wouldn’t know that by just reading this verse because it doesn’t seem like it seems like it just all flows together. But between the first part of that verse and the last part of that verse is over 2,000 years. Take your Bible and turn to the book of Luke, the Gospel of Luke.

And notice they’re in Luke 4. Stay with me now. Don’t go to sleep on me. I hate it when people go to sleep on me. I told one guy, I said, would you wake up that person sitting beside you? He says, nope. He says, you put him to sleep. You wake him up. Now, look there in chapter 4 and verse 16. It came to Nazareth where he had been brought up. And as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, stood up for to read.

There was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Isaiah. So now Jesus, almost 700 years after what we just read in Isaiah 61. Seven hundred years later, Jesus walks into the synagogue and he stands up to read and they give him the scroll. He opens up the scroll of the book of Isaiah. And he begins to read. And what does he read? In verse 17, and there was delivered to him the book of the prophet Isaiah, and when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written.

The spirit of the Lord is upon me. Because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor. He hath sent me to heal the broken heart of the preached deliverance to the captives, recovering of the sight to the blind, to set it liberty, them that are bruised, to preach in verse 9, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.” Now, why didn’t he read the last part of the verse? He didn’t. He read that much of the verse and get what he said.

He closed the book, gave it again to the minister, and he sat down. and the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say to them, this scripture, this day, is fulfilled in your ears. This is the acceptable year of the Lord. In other words, God kept telling him, hey, I’m coming, I’m coming, I’m coming, I’m coming, I’m coming. Jesus says, I’m here.

And they didn’t know the day of his visitation. You said, well, I don’t know if the Bible is true. You disprove all these things I’ve already showed you. You explained to me how they could have been written 500 to 700 years in advance before it ever happened. No man can do this. This is a supernatural book. They have found the Dead Sea Scrolls, they have found the Book of Isaiah, and they were written before Jesus Christ ever came here.

Jesus, when he was here, read from those books. You see, for three and a half years, they wanted to kill this guy. And he was the one that they read about every seventh day. But the veil was over their eyes, and the one that they keep reading about in the scriptures they kept studying, he’s standing there. It was him. And yet people can’t see it. Well, I believe it. Take your Bible, look there in the book of Luke in chapter 19.

Look in Luke chapter 19. Because it finishes the verse. It seems like toward the end of the book of Luke, he finally finishes that verse. But look why. In Luke chapter 19, look there in verse 41. And when he was come near, he beheld the city and he wept over it. Now look why he wept. Why do you think he wept? Look at this. He said, if thou hath known, even thou at least in this thy day, the things which belong onto thy peace, but now their head from thine eyes.

For the day shall come upon thee, that thine enemy shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee around, and keep thee in on every side, and shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children with indy, and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another.” And you ought to underline this part of the verse. Why? Why was the temple destroyed? Why was the nation of Israel destroyed? Why were they cast into the earth? Because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

I told you I was coming. I even told you the year I’d come. I told you the place that I would come. I told you my line of David and tribe of Judah. I told you everything in advance. And I came just like I told you I would. And he overlooks the city, the weeps. Have you ever wondered how God must feel? How God thinks? If he does this for the nation, do you think that God in heaven looks at you and me and weeps over us?

Does God know that you have mocked him, He trained him, despised him, and you won’t trust Christ as you’re saving. You don’t believe He is who are He is. Don’t you think that hurts God? Or is your conscience so seared that you have no sensitivity, no feeling? Is Jesus Christ the real Messiah? Or is He yet to come? I believe that Jesus Christ was who He claimed to be. He came the first time just like He said He would, The field of scripture is just like he said, that he died on the cross, was buried.

I believe he came back from the dead, ascended into heaven, and he’s coming again. Look up here. This hand represents you and me and the wallet represents sin. We all have sin on this. God loves us. Hates our sin, but He loves us. And He says, because of sin, it has to be paid. And God says, to go to heaven, you’ve got to be perfect and none of us are perfect. God says, you can’t earn eternal life. You can’t work your way to heaven.

If I offered you my glasses and you’re accepting them, I have a pair of glasses. I offered you my wallet, you have a wallet. I offered you my Bible, you have a Bible. Christ walked in the house. and here and offered you eternal life, and you accepted, you would have eternal life. And if it’s eternal life, it would last forever. If it lasts forever, and all you’re saying to pay, where would you go when you die? And you go to heaven, what he did.

Let’s pray, shall we? Every head bound, every eye closed, no one looking around. I hope that what I’ve said made sense to you. If you have questions and doubts about trusting Christ because you just don’t know who he is, I can understand that. But if you listen to what I said today, there’s proof, there’s evidence. There’s a reason why you should. A reasonable man can look at the reasonable evidence and come out to unreasonable conclusion. Would you trust him?

I’m not going to have you forward. Not going to embarrass you. Not going to have you do anything. But right where you’re sitting, would you just talk to the Lord and say something simple like this, Lord, I know I’m a sinner, and I believe Jesus Christ was the Messiah. I believe He is God in the flesh. He promised He would come, and He did. He died on the cross and paid for my sins. I believe He did it for me.

And with the headbob nice closed, would you just say that to the Lord? Lord, I believe He did it for me, and I’m going to trust Him as my Savior right now. Now friend, you can only get saved once. If you’ve already done it, you don’t need to do it again. But if you’ve never done it before, and you’ll trust Christ as your Savior right now, I’d like to have prayer for you. I’d like to know what I said made sense to you, and I’d like to pray for you in closing.

Anyone at all before we close? So yes, I will trust Christ as my Savior, and preach, I’d like you to pray for me. If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, then look for Him to come the second time. He’s not coming back the second time to make an offering for sin. He’s coming back to rule as the King of Israel. Our Father, we thank You so much for the offer done we have to come together as a body of believers, to read Your Word, study it, believe it.

We pray that those challenges motivate us to do what’s right. not because we have to, but because we want to. In Christ’s name we pray, amen.
