The Bible does not teach that a man has to endure to the end of his life if he wants to be saved If that’s true then nobody can know they’re saved until they have actually endured and then they’ll have to be judged upon that See if salvation is free if it is by grace As you can have it now. I Don’t deserve it now any more than I will 20 years in the future If God ain’t gonna give it to me now because well because I don’t deserve it.
Well, I’m not going to deserve it later. But if he’s going to give it to me as a gift and totally free and by grace, well, he can give it to me now and in the future shouldn’t take it away because I’m still the dirty rascal I always been. I’m no better in the future than I am now. I’m still me, an old nature. So when you trust Christ as your Savior, is it possible that God who loves you and can give you eternal life as a gift won’t take it away.
And maybe he’s the one that will keep you saved. I don’t have to keep me saved. He’s going to keep me saved who are kept by the power of God, not by the power of man. And look what you see here in verse 13. And ye shall be hated of all men from my name saved, but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Now we’ll talk about dead, dead, dead, dying, all that stuff. But those that endured to the end of this time of persecution.
Now the Scripture talked about a time or day of judgment. While we’re right here, look in Matthew chapter 10. Matthew chapter 10. And you’ll notice that many of the same things we’re reading about what’s coming in the future is going to a little bit more light shed on these statements in another portion of Scripture. See there in Matthew chapter 10? You’ll notice that he is talking in verse 1, And when he had called unto him his 12 disciples, he gave them power.
And then he says there in verse five, these 12, Jesus sent forth and commanded them, saying, go not into the way of the Gentiles and into any city of the Samaritans into you not, but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. So what he’s saying here now is he’s talking to his disciples about the nation of Israel. Remember the tribulation period coming upon the earth deals with Israel. And all nations are going to gather against Israel.
And in Zechariah chapter 12, and he makes a statement, and he says, for I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the nations of the world, be like a hot potato. And so it deals with the nation of Israel. Notice what he says here. In Matthew in chapter 10, He tells him what to do, to go in all this, and look in verse 15. Verily I send you, it shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah, and the day of judgment than for that city.
Now that’s an illustration, but see this tribulation period upon the earth is God’s day of judgment, God’s day of wrath upon not only Israel, But upon all the nations that comes against Israel, so that is going to be a judgment upon the whole world. And God is going to affect the sun, the moon, the stars, the earth, the trees, the grass, the water, the animals, the people, everything. Read Revelation chapter 16, when God pours out His vows upon the earth.
these things are coming. And then He makes this statement down here in verse 17, but beware of men. For they will deliver you up to the councils. They will scourge you in their synagogue. Beware of men. So in this chapter, it’s warning against the people that can bring you harm, but not to fear, not to be afraid. And so there’s three things that’s mentioned here in Matthew chapter 10 that deals with the subject of be not afraid of what man can do to you.
You see there in verse 26, fear. them not, therefore, there’s nothing covered that shall not be revealed. In verse 28, fear not them which kill the body. Verse 31, fear ye not, for ye are of more value than many sparrows. And if God knows when the sparrow hits the ground, he’s also knowledgeable about his people. And even though many individuals are going to die during this period of time, there’s going to be a remnant and all of those that endure to the end of this period of time and to the end are going to be the save that goes into the millennium.
Now go back there to verse 18 where it says the things that will happen to you are for you to have an opportunity to give a testimony. Now I I can take this verse and apply it to my life. Everything that happens in your life. The good and the so-called bad. Our opportunities for you and I, they give a testimony. We don’t just give testimonies when everything’s going good. We give a testimony even when things go bad because even when things don’t go good, you’re still testifying by your attitude, the words you say, the mood you’re in.
All those things are speaking and saying what you believe about God. So that’s why we have to be very careful. But he says here in verse 18, for a testimony against them and get what else he says here and the Gentiles. So what we read in Matthew 24 and also there in the book of Mark 13, and here is all talking about the period of time that is ahead of us, and it’s talking about enduring to the end and talking about physical life, I believe.
Now, notice something else in verse 19. But they deliver you up, take no thought, how or what ye shall speak for and shall be given to you in that same hour what ye shall speak. We read that just a while ago in another portion the scripture. In verse 20, for it is not ye that speak, but the spirit of your Father which is in spigothen you. Now get verse 21, and the brother shall deliver up the brother to death.
The child or the father, the child, the children shall rise up against their parents and cause them to be put to what? Death. So we’re living at a time where in the future our government is going to cause or instill within people the fear of government more so than anything else and people will report on people. People will spy on each other. People will inform on each other. The where even the father against the children, the families, the brothers against the brothers, you stop and think are we living in a time where even like for example the IRS might even be willing to pay you to inform on other that are cheating on their taxes.
We would never get to that, would we? Did you know you can already do that? Did you know that there’s a time coming in the future where it might even lead to death? I mean, our government would never go that far. You see, any government that’s big enough to do anything for you is big enough to do anything to you, right? So there’s people of the day that want the government to do everything for them. Well that means you’re going to have to do everything for the government.
That’s the only way it’ll work. So government gets all powerful and the people lose all of their freedom and we’ll have a few elites that know the answer to everything. That’s not the kind of a government that I like, or the world that I would like to live in. I think we have problems coming down the road. But now let’s get back to this. Look now in verse 22. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake, but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.
And this is, I believe, during the day of judgment, the hour of judgment. See, that’s mentioned up there in verse 15 in the day of judgment. This is the time of judgment called the day of the Lord. The specific day of the Lord is when the Lord comes back and powering great glory. But in many scriptures, you go back to the book of Isaiah, chapter 2, verse 8, and talks. It sometimes includes the seven-year tribulation period. And sometimes the day of the Lord includes the millennium.
So you got to look at the context to find out what is it referring to. So this day is coming and he’s telling the disciples how they should live. Now in these scriptures, you know he’s talking to the children of Israel because he’s already told them not to go to the Gentiles, but we know that during this tribulation period there There is going to be 144,000 Jewish evangelists preaching. And then there’s going to be an everlasting angel that’s going to be bringing the everlasting gospel that’s going to be preaching all over the world.
Here in Matthew in chapter 10, I want you to see this. You see in verse 36, “…and a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.” You talk about people turning against each other. Do you realize how just the difference that you can have concerning the philosophy of government, whether in the same household, if you had a Democrat and a Republican? Do you see perfect harmony there? Do you see there’s a good possibility that one might cancel out the other’s vote?
But anyway, as we’re moving right along here, I want you to see in verse 38, and he that take if not his cross and follow that to me is not worthy of me. We’re talking about being worthy of something. We’re talking about these are going to endure to the end and there’s a remnant there, but all those people that died during that period of time, the Bible says that when Christ comes back again and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the testimony of the Lord.
and there will be a resurrection and they will be here doing this period of time, but these others will still have their physical bodies to go into the millennium. Take your Bible and go back there to the book of Mark chapter 13. And you’ll notice in Mark chapter 13 when he talks about in verse 13, Mark 13, 13, when he makes that same statement, he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Then in verse 14, he says, but when ye shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by dang of the prophets, standing where it ought not, then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains.
In other words, because there’s one agree such great persecution upon them.” Now look down in verse 19. In verse 19, For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not, from the beginning of the creation, which God created until this time, neither shall be. And except that the Lord hath shortened those days, no flesh should be saved. But for the elects say, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened those days. Now, I believe this is talking about during this period of time and so that statement, those that endure until the end, is not talking about you and I having to endure to the end of our lives so that we can be saved and go to heaven someday.
It’s not in this context, it has nothing to do with that. This is talking about during this period of time to a certain group of people and about coming to the end of a certain period of time and when the Lord will come back at the end of that period of time. Now look in the book of Luke in chapter 21. Luke chapter 21. Luke 21, look there now in verse 8. Verse 8. And he said, take heed that you be not deceived.
For many shall come in in my name, saying I am Christ, and the time, draw near. Go ye not therefore after them, talking about a time that is set in the future, it draw near. But when ye shall hear of wars and commotion be not terrified, for these things must first come to pass, but the end is not by and by it. The end is not yet. So this end is not talking about a day when you finally earned your right to go to heaven.
The end is a set period of time that God has set and He’s talking about people that are going to be there at the end of that period of time. You and I see we’re going to be taken out here at the rapture so we’re not even going to be here during this period of time. So that phrase, those that endure to the end, the same shall be saved. I’ve heard preachers just really ramp upon it, and they haven’t even got a clue what he’s talking about.
And so here in the book of Luke in chapter 21, notice what he says down here. In verse 10, then said he unto them, nations shall rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, Great earthquake shall be in divers places, famines, pestilence, fearful sites and great signs that shall be from heaven. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogue and subpryzen, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake.”
Isn’t that what we read in Matthew chapter 10, chapter 24, Mark chapter 13, and now here in Luke, it’s all about that same period of time. In verse 13, “…and it shall turn to you, or give to you, an opportunity for testimony.” And you are, according to the Scriptures here, are invincible until God is ready for you to die. It’s just like they could not kill those two witnesses during the tribulation period. who of those two witnesses are until they finished their testimony.
And then the Antichrist was able to take their life three days later they rose again. And if you’ll notice here in verse 13 they were to give their testimony but when their testimony was over with you’ll see that in verse 18 but there shall not a a hair of your head perish.” Oh, wait a minute. You just said they’re going to die. But not a hair of your head perish until God is ready for you to die. You are safe and secure and God can protect you against anything and anyone and everybody all put together the whole world.
If need be, till you have finished your testimony. Finish that period of time that God’s given you and I to live. But look what he says in verse 14, settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what you shall say, because sometimes you don’t always know at what point you’re going to be attacked. So you have to wait till that moment and God will give to you what you need. That’s good wisdom. But in verse 15, for I will give you a mouth of wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gain say nor resist.
And ye shall be betrayed, both by parents, brethren, kinfolk, friends, some of you shall they cause to be put to death. But not a hair of your head is going to be hurt. No, as the nation of Israel, some of you are going to die. You’re going to be persecuted. All this is going to happen. You’re going to be put in jail, all this. But as a body of believers, God says, I’m going to bring you through. And your testimony is secure.
And they can’t touch a hair in your head until I say so. You see, I believe that God puts little angels around me. He probably got a few around you too. And if you’ll serve the Lord, you don’t have to worry. God can protect you until the time. Otherwise, God is at the mercy of everything else. He goes on and God says, oh, I didn’t want him to die yet. Oh, oh, the devil got that one. I’m not going to start over again.
Now let me see what I can find as though my God in heaven isn’t strong enough to protect. He is, but every one of us has a testimony and God allows things to happen in our life so that we can testify about God is done for us. And he says, you don’t have to worry about it in his man. But now remember, he’s talking to those people that are here during the tribulation period. But I believe that there’s probably some good things that we can apply from the scriptures.
Be careful, you don’t over apply. And then he says here in verse seven, you’re gonna be hated of all men from my name’s sake. But there shall not a hair of your head perish. And I always add in until time, because all men will die. But these that will endure until the end, they’ll still be alive, will be saved to enter into the millennium. And they will be the one that will see the Lord when it comes back in power and great glory.
So you see there in verse 20 when he says, and when ye shall see Jerusalem compass with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. In other words, this is the In the first part of Luke there, we just read, that’s the beginning of sorrows. And then Jerusalem will be surrounded. The Antichrist will claim that he is God and go into the temple. And all this is going to take place. And then he says there in verse 26, men’s hearts failing them for fear, seeing those things that are coming up on the earth.
And as people look out and see all the things that are happening in the world, even in America, they don’t know what to do. When the hard times come, what am I going to do? Are we supposed to worry? Live it fear, even the Lord told them, be ye not terrified. Now I do believe we need to be wise and try to see what’s going on. But notice what he says here. And verse 27, then shall they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud of power and great glory.
When these things begin to come to pass, look up and lift up your heads for your redemption draw. Now, this is talking to the people that are living here during the tribulation period. We’ve already been taken out seven years before that. Ain’t that good news? Now, looking verse 29, and behold, he says, he speak a parable, behold the fig tree, and look at the next words. What does the next word say? and all the trees. So it’s not just the fig tree, it’s all the trees.
When all the trees get leaves on them, you know something sticks in the happen. I think spring is close. So whenever he says it, when they now shoot forth and you see and know of your own self, summer is now nigh at hand. Boy, isn’t that a good clue. But he says, you can read the signs and so forth when it’s red and it’s going to have warm weather. He says, but you cannot discern the times in which you live.
So he says here in verse 34, take heed to yourselves. Let at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfacing and drunkenness and cares of this life so that that day come upon you unawared. And as a snare shall it come on all men that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36, watch ye therefore and pray always that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of Man.
You see, all this is going to come to the people that are going to be living here. The nations are going to come against Israel. They’re going to try to finish what Hitler started years ago. And what Haman tried to do during the time of Esther and captivity, this time is coming and it’s right ahead of us. And as you look at the world saying today, isn’t it true that you know of at least 60 nations that would love to drive Israel into the sea or annihilate Israel altogether?
No other nation like the nation of Israel. And if you look on the mat, it’s a little sliver of land. They ain’t got much. But you know almost all the Nobel Prius prize winners of all times, most of them, they’re Jewish. They’re smart. They know how to make money. They head up everything. God has blessed them that way. And they have followed a lot of the principles that God blesses. And sometimes Gentiles even try to mimic them and copy them.
They can run the movie industry, they can run our health, and they can run the diamond business and you name it. They’re brilliant individuals, smartest men on the earth. And people hate them. But God says, I will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee. America better be very careful how we deal with Israel. We’ve been blessed because we have been a blessing and we will be cursed when we become a curse. And right now, if I was Benjamin Netanyahu, I would not trust this President Administration one eye-oater.
In spite of all the things that’s going on in the world, and it’s so easy for me to be caught up into the world affairs, then I could spend all my time fighting all the issues and there’s a lot of them. Or to believe that the most important thing is still so winning and getting the gospel out, trying to get people to trust the Lord. I can’t think of anything better to do. This end represents you and me. The wallet represents sin.
We all have sin on us. Now the Bible says that God, He loves us. Hates our sin, but he loves us. See, God loves the nation of Israel. He hates their sin. He hates their rebellion. He told them, you rebel against me. I’m going to chase in you. And buddy, has he done it? And whenever Christ was there, they said, let his blood be upon us and our children. Okay? That’s what they got for 2,000 years. But see, God does love us.
He hates our sin. the wages in his death, we’re all condemned. This hand represents you and me, we have to be perfect to go to heaven. None of us are perfect. None of us are righteous. We’ve all done things wrong. We cannot save ourselves. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord, God of the flesh. He has no sin. He doesn’t have to die. He came into the world because he loves us. He hates our sin because it separates us from him.
So Jesus Christ took the bool, the sin paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead and said, if we would believe he did it for us, he would put this payment to our account and we get to go to Heaven on what he did. It’s not what we do. We do not have to endure to the end, live a certain way and stop all these bad things and promise to live a good life. And if we live long enough and good enough, we’ll make it someday.
God’s already said, there is none righteous, no not one, there’s none good, no not one. None good, no not one. None seeketh after God. We have all sinned and come short of God’s perfection. So the only thing we can do is to be saved by grace. Grace is unmerited. It’s unmerited. It means you don’t deserve it. You’re not worthy of it. And so all we do is believe that Christ paid for our sins. That He came back from the dead.
Would you believe He did it for you? will God will save and give eternal life. Let’s pray, shall we? If you hear tonight or watching by internet, understand that God does love you. Love you so much. We do live in dark days, but also exciting days. The Lord’s coming soon. Lift up your eyes. He’s coming soon. If you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior, you’re going to heaven, but if you haven’t trusted Christ as your Savior, you won’t go. There’s no two ways to get to heaven only one way.
And it’s only through Christ. Will you trust him? If you will trust him as your only hope of going to heaven. Friend, I’d like to know it. And I’d like to have prayer for you. If you’ve never done it before and you’ve never trusted the Lord, but tonight you say, Yes, that made sense to me. I want to make sure I’m going to heaven when I die. I’m pretty sure what you pray for me. Would you just slip you hand it very quickly and put a Revic down?
Is anyone at all? The only thing that you have to do, it’s the only thing you can do is where you believe that he did it for you. I pray that you will. Father, thank you so much for this time together. We ask your blessings upon each person here. What we do pray for wisdom for those in place of leadership in our country and whether we might live a quiet and peaceful life. We are looking forward to your coming.
But Father, we can see there’s a lot of things happening in this world that’s not good. And we just pray that you give us the strength and the grace that we need to do right. We ask now your blessings upon each person here. Thank you so much for this time together in Christ and we pray. Amen.
