You know, in the book of Exodus, chapter 14, it makes his statement. He says, when I see the blood, and I see the blood, when I see the blood, who is I? Who is the I? That’s the Lord, God. When I see the blood, sounds kind of gross. What do you mean when I see the blood? But if you know the story, you know how precious it is. In the book of Exodus in chapter 12. When I see the blood, what will happen?

I will what? I will pass over you. I will pass over you. Five little words. But what? A story. Something so simple. And yet it’s a deep, great truth. How much can be said in a language when you have just the right words? So he says, when I see the blood, when I see the blood, I will pass over you. Pass over. What is the Passover? So then you can go into the Passover. Who was our Passover? Christ. Christ was our Passover.

And whenever we believe that He died for us, His blood was like put to our account, like we were washed in His blood. And when He sees the blood, because we are what we call under the blood, I will pass over you. It means that you will not die. If you will not die, you will live forever. If you will not die, you will live forever. You have eternal security. I will pass over you. You will not die.” Now, we know that that’s talking about when Israel was down into Egypt.

And yet after that, it was always when I see the blood I will pass over you. They were to celebrate the Passover every year. They had to celebrate it. So, five little words. Leviticus 17, 11 makes his statement, for it is the blood, for it is the blood. for it is the blood. It is the blood. It is the blood. That’s what? What is the purpose of the blood? The life of the flesh is in the blood. And I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your sins.

For the life of the flesh is in the blood. It is the blood. And so Therefore, five little words that says such a wonderful thing, such deep things. You see, when you study the Scriptures, don’t just rush through them. You look for some truths out of these things because God says an awful lot in just a few words. In the book of Joshua 24, remember he was talking to the elders and all there and mainly it was to be for the people.

And he was near the end of his life, he says, but we will serve the Lord. But we will serve the Lord. We will serve the Lord. But as for me and my house, We will serve the Lord. For me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Five little words, but think of what it says. It means there’s a man that’s taken a stand and say, and this is what we are going to do. Ask for me in my house.

Because you can’t be responsible to make anybody else do anything, but you have to determine this is what me and my house are going to do. You’re the leader, be the leader. You’re the man, be the man, be the man. Decide this is what we’re going to do. as for me and my house, we will, we will what? We will. That’s determination. That’s a commitment. That’s going out on the land. That’s stating something. We will serve the Lord. And not just any God, because He says those are some they want to serve the God on the other side of the flood, but we will serve the Lord.

So you make up your mind. This is what we will do. There’s another little five words, it’s really, really wonderful. But look here in Psalms 23. Psalms 23, the 23rd Psalm, the 23rd Psalm. And look what he says there, the Lord is my shepherd, the Lord is my shepherd. I wonder if you can get a message out of that. Those five little words, the Lord is my shepherd. And they says, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

Want for what if the Lord’s your shepherd? Is the shepherd’s responsibility to take care of the sheep? Are you his sheep? Do you really believe that the shepherd, your shepherd, is able to take care and provide and protect and feed his sheep? He can as long as he wants and desires, and you don’t have to worry about it. worry about it. But you see, there’s a lot of trouble that goes on in the world. That causes a lot of people, a lot of worry, a lot of fear.

There’s people that are scared to death by what’s going to happen in the country, what’s going to happen in the world. There’s people up there that just went through this hurricane sandy and then another little snowstorm that can’t up your head. And think of how bad some of those people have it. And yet look how in spite of everything knowing it was going to happen, how little prepared FEMA was, and coming to the rescue. It shouldn’t have had to happen all over again just like it did down in Katrina in New Orleans.

They didn’t have telephone poles. They didn’t have supplies. They didn’t have gasoline. How come they couldn’t have had a whole bunch of gasoline trucks stationed at different It’s not going to be that bad. You know, some people are finding out what it’s like not to have any food, and not to have a home to live in. Or, I guess you could say close to where. And everything lost. What would happen if you were a kid, or a kid, or a kid, or a kid, or a kid, or a kid, or a kid, or a kid, or a kid, or a kid, or a kid, or a kid, or a kid, happen if it happened all over the United States and all of us were in the same vote.

And there was nobody to bail us out because one of these days I do believe that if God should tear it, there’s going to be a mushroom cloud over some major city in this country. We’ve asked for it. We deserve the chasing of God. Because You see, you cannot legislate all these sins and make it right in the eyes of God. You see, God’s Word hasn’t changed and what God says is wrong is still wrong. And if it’s not corrected, we’ll bring the chasting hand of God.

The only thing that I did not see in the elections on either part of either side was that we need a spiritual revival in this country. People need to get right with God because that’s the only way that anything is going to change. Because the people do not believe they need God. And isn’t it something that one part that didn’t even want God in their platform? We don’t need God. Because it contains many that are now atheist and so many homosexuals don’t want the Bible because that talks about homosexuality being a sin and they want gay marriage.

So you don’t want God and you don’t want the Bible. So it’s been moved away as our foundation. So instead of being on the solid rock they want us to move over here to the sand. Did you just watch the videos of some of the things up there where the storm washed away the beaches and the sand was moved? See, that’s what happens when the storms of life come and people are on sand, which is nothing more than the philosophy of man, and it destroys.

There’s nothing to sustain them. So yes, you and I, we should be very thankful that the Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. He make it me to lie down in green pastures and leadeth me beside the still waters. He restored my soul. He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness. For his name’s say, Yea, though I walk to the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear an evil. I will fear no evil.” Five words. But wonderful five words.

For thou art with me. That’s another wonderful five little words. And he says, Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me, thou preparest the table. Thou preparest the table before me in the presence of my enemies. Thou north my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Isn’t that a wonderful Psalm? We usually read it at a funeral.

And the person that probably needed it isn’t there. You see, a funeral is never for the person that’s passed away. It’s always for those that are living because the person that passed away, he’s not there to hear a word. He’s already gone. So you’re talking to the people that are there as the Bible says in Psalms 90 that we believe was written by Moses that he may teach us to number our days and apply our hearts under wisdom so that we’ll be wise.

So sometimes yes, when there’s a hurricane, tornado, the floods, the winds, and the earthquakes, and all the problems should teach us to number our days. We’re not going to live forever. here is temporary. Where on the earth is it safe to run and hide? They have fires that sweeps the mountains of Colorado and they have the hurricanes it hits and the earthquakes it hits. Where is it safe? Oh, if I could just find me a little island someplace that nobody knows about.

Oh, really? And you’re going to go there. You’re going to hide. I remember people years ago that went to Florida Bible College and they could see all the things that were coming up on the earth and so they went to Arkansas and they moved way back into the woods and they got themselves already to fight. They stored up, did everything. Four to years later they all died. A few of them are still alive. never happened. And they got sidetracked trying to find out how to protect themselves in this life and never did what God put them here to do.

And that’s the era that we can make, is getting so sidetracked with the cares of the world and becoming entangled with the affairs of this life that we do not please Him that’s called us to be a soldier. Take your Bible and turn to 1 Corinthians, the book of 1 Corinthians 14, 1 Corinthians 14. In 1 Corinthians and chapter 14, the apostle Paul in writing to the church there at Corinth, he made the statement in verse 19, verse 19, yet in the church, I had rather speak five words with my understanding that by my voice, I might teach others also.

Then 10,000 words in an unknown tongue. And people not understand what you’ve said. So it’s better to say five words that people can understand than 10,000 that they can. Dr. Stanford used to always say, put the food on the bottom shelf. That way even the kids can get it. I say put the food on the bottom shelf so that the adults can understand it. You see, He said, feed my sheep, not my giraffes. So we don’t put it way up there.

And even though you might be greatly impressed with all the deep knowledge that a preacher can come up with in explaining Hebrew and the Greek. And what I found out is after all these years, 52, that you get to explaining what all those words mean. It says what it says right here in the King James. It’s already done. It’s already been determined. All you need is to believe it. To read it, believe it. And it’s amazing how much truth is found in just a little bit.

Five words? What can you say in five words that could really change your life? a message in just a few words. Well, I want you to look there in chapter 15 and look what he says there in verse one. Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received and wherein you stand. But which also you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you unless you have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” So that’s more than five words. Yeah, I know. But I want you to look at the verse there, verse three. And you see these words? Christ died for our sins. Five words. I would rather speak those five words than 10,000 words that a person cannot understand.

But would you believe the majority of people in America that has heard those five words almost all their life? Don’t get it. I talked to a lady on Friday night. Somebody asked us to go out and get something to eat. So we did and they brought this lady with them. Well, they had a clue that I would wind up talking to them so they warned them in advance. Now, Yank is going to ask you when you got saved. You be ready to answer his question.

It’s just okay. She’s ready. So we sat down to eat and so we did a little small talk. The next thing you know I says, can I ask you a question? I says, do you know for sure you’re going to heaven when you die? Yes. She was ready. Yes. And I said, is there anything you can do between now and the time you die that could keep you from going to heaven? And she said, yes, she was ready. She did not hesitate.

I said, if there’s anything you could do that could keep you from going to heaven, you don’t know that you’re not going to do it. She said, well, I know I’m not going to do it. Because I’ve determined and is an amazing that when they get through saying that, you automatically know, writ flag, they’re depending upon their works to get them to heaven. Because if they don’t perform, they don’t get to go. So even though she knew and she even said the words Christ died for my sins, she did not understand it.

And I’ve seen so many CETEN people that don’t did you realize that if Christ died for your sins, it means that if you’ll believe He did it for you, you don’t have to pay for one of your sins. Dr. Ray Stanford, I mentioned this in San Francisco, but I mentioned this again because he mentioned it just about every time he spoke. He says, when I heard Cliff Nell Fowler explain Ephesians 2, 8, and 9 to me, nine to me.

For by grace, through your say, through faith, that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. Race says, you mean to tell me that if I trust Christ as my Savior and He will give me eternal life, I can live like I please and still go to heaven when I die?

And Dr. Fowler told him, says, that’s a crude way to put it. But yes, God loves you that much. And Ray says, that’s for me. He says they had orange juice there and he says, just shook. He just knew it was going to go everywhere. He says, I guess I will save somewhere between here and here. When I realize that I can trust Christ as my Savior and live like I please, now majority of preachers will tell you, no, no, no.

And they begin to make exceptions. No, no, no, that’s not what I mean. Yes, that’s exactly what we mean. what we mean. So then people say, well, then why don’t you just live like you please? I am. I am. For 52 years I have lived like I pleased. I wanted to please the Lord. I can’t explain that little miracle that took place inside of me 52 years ago when I was 18 years old. But when I understood that it was free, that it was a gift, and that I did not have to go to church, and I did not have to give any money.

And I did not have to change my life. It changed my life because I didn’t have to do any of that. You see, I’m going to heaven not because of any good works that I have done to get saved and not because of any good works I’ve done to stay saved. Works have nothing to do with me going to heaven. Mine anyway, Jesus died for my sins so that I don’t have to pay for one of them. If you had to pay for one of your sins, He didn’t do you any favors.

So that was the best news that I’ve ever heard, but look how much wonderful truth in just five little words, and sometimes people don’t always get it. Christ died for my sins. Take your Bible and turn to the book of John chapter 3, the Gospel of John and chapter 3. There’s another verse you probably have heard, but maybe you don’t really get it. Maybe I can help you just a little bit. In John chapter 3, lo and behold, verse 16.

Look in verse 16, this is on page 11-17 in your old Schofield Reference Bible. And it makes a statement in verse 16, for God so loved the world that He gave as only begotten Son that whosoever, believe it in Him, should not perish but happen by lasting life. Now that verse is a whopper. That is the Bible in a nutshell. That is crystal clear. Look at those five words. God so loved the world. There’s a message here somewhere. Do you really believe that God so loved the world?

If he loved the world, that means he loves you. If God’s not a respecter person, that means that there’s not one person in the world that God loves more than you. God loves you. That means that there’s not anybody that he loves less than me, or more than me, but he loves me. God loves me. Isn’t it wonderful to know that in spite of everything that goes on in the world, good or bad or indifferent, I know there’s a God in heaven and he loves me?

We talked about in the book of Genesis, in the beginning God created. Five little words, but in the beginning God created. And so you see there’s a tremendous wealth of knowledge in just a few verses or a few words, that God can say deep things. The Word of God is a treasure house. It’s to be mined. mind the word of God, not with a pick and shovel, but with the mind and with the Holy Spirit, submitting yourself to the truth or whatever you find.

And if you will believe the truth that you do find, then that truth will lead you to another truth and to another truth. And sometimes you’ll think, I have found the mother load. Man, there’s just so much here that you can’t grasp it all. the Bible is the Word of God and it should change your life. So you see I don’t serve the Lord because I have to to go to heaven. I’m serving the Lord because I want to.

I am living the way I please don’t most people. Don’t you generally do whatever you really want to do and if you want to rebel you rebel. What have the lost people doing. They’re living how they please. Most Christians are too. Some lived to please themselves. Some lived to please the Lord. Now I found out that if I would please the Lord, that he’d blessed my life. So for 52 years I can give testimony to the fact he kept his word.

I’m looking forward to the day when I get to heaven. I have no clue what all the rewards and stuff is going to be. But I am counting on some of them. I’m counting He says, lay up treasures in heaven where you cannot lose them. You can’t lose them. So anyway, I want you to take your Bible and turn to the first chronicles, chapter 21, first chronicles in the Old Testament, chapter 21. If you want to find out what’s good and what’s bad, where you should stand, well sometimes you find out where your enemy stands stands and you know you stand just the opposite, right?

So you shouldn’t be on the same page. . . . . . . . . . But look what he says in verse 1. We back here in the Old Testament, 1st Chronicles chapter 21, look what he says in verse 1. And Satan stood up against Israel. Satan stood up against Israel. Five little words. Five little words. If you know where Satan stands, you’ll know where you’re supposed to stand. Look how many nations are standing against Israel. Are they on God’s side or on Satan’s side?

What does the book say? If you know where the devil stands, then you know you stand opposite of him. There’s so much truth that you can find in simple things in the Word of God that can help you to know what God wants you to do. So very important. Look in Psalms 23 and verse 1. I want you to just see this because I looked at it in the book of, in Sunday school just a little bit ago, but I wanted to share it with you one more time.

In Psalms 23, Psalms 23, because of these words that I believe are very, very important. Psalms 23 and verse 1, five words. The Lord is my shepherd. The Lord is my shepherd. See, he’s my savior because he died for me. Gave me eternal life. I’m his child. But the Word of God pictures us as sheep. Well, sheep need a shepherd. And so in this world, we can’t find our way. You can’t provide for yourself. There’s so much you can’t do spiritually speaking without the Lord.

So my shepherd who knows what he wants me to do, where he wants me to go, all I have to do is follow his voice. And see, the word of God is the voice of God. That’s why you hear some people say, God called me to preach. How did God call you to preach? I heard the word. Means I read the word and I became burdened. So burdened that I couldn’t shake the burden. And I believe this is God’s call for me.

I believe God calls a lot of His children, but a lot of them don’t hear. And they don’t answer to call. And so they stumble through life doing a thousand things, but not what God wanted. One day, all gonna be over. We’re gonna stand for the Lord. And you’ll find out what you could have done if you had only listened to it voice and obeyed the Lord. But some of God’s children are going to challenge God at every turn, every verse.

You’ll explain it away. Dismiss it, not for me. And yet, it is the Word of God. The Lord is my shepherd. Means he is going to lead me and guide me, provide for me, beside the still waters, refreshes me. All these things that he tells us. And whenever he says thou prepared to table before me in the presence of mine enemies, We still have a responsibility. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life. See, all these things are very, very important.
