I had a couple thoughts the other day, and it was because of a Jewish man that was born in 18, around 1897, something like that. And he died in 1984, and his name was Garden House, and he started a Jewish ministry. Cared on for years and years, and that minister’s still going on. Because he was Jewish, he had, you know, back that long ago, he had good recollections of what took place in Germany and with the people trying to kill the Jewish people.
So he was preaching here in America and a preacher from up in South Carolina, maybe North Carolina, asked him if he would come because during this time when Hitler was on has rise to power, people were turning against the Jewish people because of what they were doing in Germany, poisoning the people’s minds against the Jews, and blaming every eel there is in the world on the Jew, and some of that is still being done today, believe it or not.
And so they said, we want you to come, but we need to have the Christians’ minds challenged, renewed to where they support and love the Jew because of such a division. But they said, can you give us a topic of what you would speak on that would really capture the minds? He said, yeah. He says, tell them I’m going to speak on how to destroy the Jew. So they made banners and they put it up and the Christians couldn’t wait to get to hear Jewish people in the community didn’t like it, but they wanted to hear what was said because the one that was the strongest in backing the Jewish people were generally the Christian churches because they’re supposed to love Christ and love the Jew and he’s going to preach on how to destroy the Jew.
So anyway, he came and said about an hour before the service the place was packed and people said it outside. I thought one of the days I’m I’m going to preach on Lot’s wife, but I’ll put a big ad in the paper here in Tampa. The sin of the mayor’s wife. I’m going to be a good topic. The sin of the mayor’s wife. Let’s see what would happen. I’ll bet you the news meeting might even come out and want to cover that story.
The sin of the mayor’s wife. And talk about Lot’s wife who looked back. But some people, they try everything to try to, but anyway, he said, he preached the subject on how to destroy the Jew. And he says, there’s some people that have tried to do just that, how to destroy the Jew. And if you will, while you’re, I’ve got my Bible up and up here to Daniel. So just take a Bible and look there in the book of Daniel.
And chapter three, Daniel chapter three, there is a scripture reference here how that there was in the place there of Babylon, King Nebuchadnezzar, made a great big old statute of himself. Nothing like a little humility, huh? He wanted, well he didn’t want much, he just wanted everybody to fall down to worship. When they heard certain music, they were supposed to bow. And… He had the Jewish people under his control. He had them under his control. He could pass any law he wanted.
He could kill anybody he wanted. But he was talked into, why don’t you have, nobody can do anything except unless they bow down to you this big image. And if you studied the book of Daniel, many things in the book of Daniel will also be seen in the book of Revelation, the tribulation period, how that there’s going to be an image that’s going to be made to the last one world ruler and demand that people worship Him. Or just like here in the book of Daniel.
There’s always history repeats itself because people are dumb and don’t learn and so they just repeat the same thing over and over again. That’s what most people do in their lives. They keep doing the same thing over and over and over again. And they can’t understand why they keep getting the same results. But anyway, they had made this decision. So if you will, look there in verse 15. So he talks to these three Hebrew children, Mieshek Shydrak and Abednego and says, this is what you’ve got to do.
Now, if you be ready that at what time you hear the sound of the cornet and the flute, heart and the sight book and the salt dream, the dulcimer and all kinds of music he fall down and worship the image which I have made. Well, but if you worship not ye shall be cast the same hour into the mist of the burning fiery furnace. And who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands? Boy, he asked the wrong question, didn’t he?
Or maybe you asked the right question because he was fixing to get the right answer. So, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered and said unto the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we’re scared to death. Oh, we’re scared to death. We’re petrified. And is, you know, religion and politics don’t mix. And so, we’ll just do whatever you tell us to do. Well, that’s not true. He said, we’re not careful to answer the in this manner. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace.
And he will deliver us out of thy hand, O King, but if not let it be known unto the O King that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou have set up. Now this caused a problem then. It’s going to cause a problem in the future because there will be a remnant of the nation of Israel, the Jewish people that will not bend. They won’t bow and they won’t burn. So as they go through here, they refuse.
He said, make it seven times hotter, seven times time, times and a half a time. I wonder if it has any, you know, significance to it. whether it’s in the book of Daniel or in the book of Revelation chapter 13, it talked about time and times and half of time. But we know the tribulation is seven years, seven times. It is the judgment, the tribulation upon the nation of Israel. So that’s going to come. But you can always take things and apply them.
It doesn’t I mean that this is definitely what this is the point of it is. The point here is that God can preserve His people. If God wants to, He can preserve. And if He doesn’t want them dead, they won’t be dead. As one Jewish man says, Nations come and nations go, but I will be forever. come and nations go, but I will be forever.” Because you see, the Jewish people will always be a Jewish people. They will always be the nation of Israel.
There’s a remnant at time. Nations can come, nations can go. Even Israel can be destroyed as a nation, but there’s always a remnant. Anyway, the good I have to do here, and it says in verse 23, “…and these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and the bed, they go, fell down, bound into the mist of the burning fiery furnace. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished and rose up in haste and spake and said unto his counselor did not we cast three men bound into the mist of the fire?
They answered and said in him, King, true. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose walking in the mist of the fire and they have no hurt and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God. So they tried to burn the Jew and he wouldn’t burn because if God puts his hands upon him nobody can hurt him. God see is in charge. And God’s will will be performed according to what God wants, when God wants that way.
I’d often wonder, why doesn’t God just do everything He wants to have done and just get it over with? Why don’t He just go ahead and let the Raptor take place, get us up there instead of going through all this stuff down here? Because God has a plan, and God’s plan will be carried out. So what He wants us to do is just be patient. Just be patient. Look all the way over there in the book of Exodus 14.
Exodus and chapter 14. If there’s anybody who had a perfect chance to annihilate the Jew, he should have done it when there was only seven of them when they came down into Israel. I mean, into Egypt. That would have been a good time, more than many of them. Wipe them out, then it’s all over with. But isn’t it wonderful that God preserved them and gave them a place where they could grow into a great nation, come in there with 70 and after about 400 years, now there’s 2-3 million of them.
Don’t really know how many they were. Now he leads them out. And Pharaoh has a change of heart. He says, I’m not going to let him go. So he gets his army and he comes out after them. And there is a dead end. The children of Israel, They’re not fit for war. They don’t have anything to fight with. All they’ve got is the Lord. Oh, maybe he’s enough. And it says the battle is the Lord’s. And so it says up here in verse three, for Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, they are entangled in the land.
The wilderness have shut them in. So he’s coming after the nation of Israel. Wouldn’t it be a good time? Boy, we can just force him right into that sea. and they’ll drown. Or we capture them and take them back. So they knew they were losing a lot of workers, but they were afraid that if they didn’t do something they will keep growing. And they, if they were ever attacked by a foreign country, they might side with them and take over Egypt.
So that’s why they started killing all of them in. So things weren’t looking too bright. Whether to abortion, what is it called? And that was wrong. They were to abort these babies. If abortion was wrong back then, I’m going to fit strong today. You would think it might be wrong today, wouldn’t it? So you have them in a place that’s bocked then. And he says down in verse 13, and Moses Set them to the people, fear you not stand still and see the salvation of the Lord.
So they even tried to drown them. They couldn’t burn them, they couldn’t drown them. You ever heard of a guy named Haman? Remember Haman? Haman was an agogite. It means he came from Agag. An agag? He was a bad man. You see, he had to be hewn to pieces because he wasn’t a malachite. And the malachites didn’t like the Jews, and they wanted to kill the Jewish people. So all he does is just get, you know, the king and there’s the queen, Esther and lo and behold, He says, we pass a law about all these Jewish people, and they were going to kill all the Jewish people.
But he wanted to hang Haman on the gallows. So he planned and schemed, connived, and had the gallows built, and just happened one night. King has, he just couldn’t, he couldn’t sleep. He couldn’t sleep. So he got out the records and he started reading through the journals and lo and behold it talks about a guy named Mordecai who saved the king’s life years before. So he brought in Haman, he said, Haman, what should we do to somebody that we really wanted to honor?
He said, oh, I would parade him around town, the finest horse, dress robe and let all the people just cheer. He says, that’s a good idea. I want you to do that for Mordecai. If there’s one person that he hated, it was Mordecai, because when he came by, Mordecai wouldn’t bend and bow, and straighten, kiss his feet. Mordecai didn’t do that. He felt cheated. Everybody worships me but this nut. And he wanted to hang him on some gallows and then lo and behold, the king says, I want him to be honored.
So he got to parade him around. Well, I love it. I think God got a great sense of humor. And he was burning, boiling mad. But Queen Esther, she didn’t want to say anything to the king about to kill him. of the Jews. But Mordecai, her uncle, said, look, you’re a Jew. Don’t you think for a moment that you’re going to escape this? If they kill us, they’ll get you too. So she went to Sidic King and she had a sad countenance.
And he said, what’s wrong? How come you’re so sad? And she says, I want to have a banquet. And I’ve got something I want to share with you. So anyway, they have a banquet. Not necessarily a big banquet, but they had a banquet and she’s there, Haman’s there. And so she just told the king, he wants to kill me and all my people. Well, he didn’t like that. So he wind up and all of his family being hung on the gallows.
So the Jews, when And it’s God’s will. God can reach over and protect. And they wouldn’t burn if he didn’t want them to burn. They wouldn’t drown if he didn’t want them to drown. And they couldn’t be hung if he didn’t want them hung. See God knows what he’s doing. And as you go down through time, all this is very well and good. And they even came up at another time in the book of Daniel and says, okay, we ought not have anybody pray to any God except just make a request to you.
In a sense, making him like God. They can’t pray to nobody, but there was somebody that did pray three times every day. You might know his name. Daniel. Daniel. He says if you pray, you’re going to have to be fed to the lions. Well, the king liked Daniel. He didn’t like it when he found out that Daniel did not obey, but that Daniel prayed like he did before. And so you have government and religion. Everybody will tell you religion and politics don’t mix.
Yes, it does. It’s only thing it does makes. Religion is what you believe in politics is what you do. So you want to have a political system that allows you to practice what you believe. And it’s that way all over. So that’s why Christians who believe right should want a form of government that helps them live right. So simple. But there’s humanist educators, there’s the philosophers of our day, and politicians that want to separate it because they, in their mind, we’re atheist or humanist and all these Christians, we don’t want those Christians forcing their religious belief upon us because we don’t have religion.
Therefore they can have the politics and do all the lawmaking. Not to y’all y’all can’t. Y’all should not be involved in politics because you’re gonna force your religion down our throat. Did you know the atheism is a religion? Humanism is a religion and what are they doing today? Forcing their religion down the throats of everybody else. And then some people can’t see that. They just don’t understand. But here in the book of Exodus, they could not deliver themselves, but they had the trust in the Lord.
Daniel could not deliver himself, but the lions got locked jaw. They just couldn’t. They couldn’t eat up no Daniel. It wasn’t long until, yes, Daniel survived in the midst of the hungry lions. But when they took Daniel out of there, they took those people that were against Him, and He put them in there and their wives and their children, and all of a sudden the lions were hungry again. And ate them all up. Aedemola. You see, sometimes God allows the schemes, the devices, the tricks, the snares, to catch the very people who built them.
That’s why you and I have to be careful. We always need to do things that are right above board. Never be dishonest and unkind to anybody, because when you sow when you’re going to reap a whirlwind, the Bible talks about you reap what you sow and that’s why you have to be very, very careful. I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of Jeremiah, the book of Jeremiah chapter 31. Jeremiah chapter 31, look in verse 35 and verse 35.
If you want to know how to destroy the Jew, well, if they won’t drown and they won’t burn, can’t hang them, and lions get into Justin, what else are you going to think of? Well, there is another way to eliminate the Jew, to destroy all the… Stop and think. Aren’t they saying in the United Nations that the problem of the world is the nation of Israel? Turkey just made that statement that represents 50-something Arab nations. Israel is the problem.
Ain’t that something? That one little sliver of land over there that they’ve got where you can put seven of those in the state of Florida, they are the problem. They’re the reason the rest of the world is having problems because of Israel. And you know what? And there’s people that believe it. But did you know in the last days God says He’s gonna bring the nations of the world against Israel? What Hitler did, He’s going to look like a little Sunday school teacher compared to what’s coming down the road.
It’s going to get bad. That’s why we’re looking for the upper taker, the rapture. But look here in verse 35, Thus saith the Lord, which giveeth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divide at the sea when the waves they’re uproar. The Lord of Host is His name. If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever.
So if you want to destroy the Jew, all you have to do is destroy the sun and the moon and the stars. See how Oh, you see this is? This ought to be a piece of cake. All you’ve got to do is just destroy that world out there. And then you might be able to handle Israel. But until you can do that, I don’t think you’ve got to go to the chance. It’s just not going to work. Look what else he says.
In verse 37, Thus saith the Lord if heaven above can be measured, the foundations of the earth searched out beneath. I will also cast off all the seed, all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.” So all you’ve got to do is just, you know, prove a few things and do a few things that might seem a little bit on the miraculous side. But Israel is a miracle nation and they are preserved by the Lord in a miraculous fashion and all the wisdom of all the nations all put together cannot annul what God has put in His Word.
Sounds pretty good to me like it’s pretty safe bet. Somebody says I don’t want to go to Israel, go over there and all the people bombing everything. I believe you probably be safer in Israel than any other nation on the face of the earth until the rapture. After the rapture, I don’t know if I want to stay there. I’ve been there five, six times. I think Hank’s been there 15, 16 times, and he’s probably right now got a ringside seat overlooking and seeing what’s going on down here now.
But people who know Israel and love Israel know that it is a miraculous place. God has to be preserving that nation. Well, all that’s going on in the world. Look up here. This end represents you and me and the wallet represents sin. We all have sin upon us. God says that he loves us. He hates our sin. And for you and I to pay for sin is eternal separation from God. In hell. But God loves us and wants us to go to heaven and to go to heaven.
We have to be perfect as righteous as God because heaven is perfect. God is perfect and we have to be perfect to go into heaven. But we can’t because of sin. God will not allow us into heaven. So how can God get rid of us? of the sin. And remember, the sin is not just the sin that I commit, it’s the sin nature that’s within me. I could take this away and I still can’t get in because you see the sin nature is still inside of me.
I committed this because I am a sinner. So God has to give me a new birth, not change me, not change me, and I send to me to church and do all a good deed. God has to give me a new birth. So this hand represents Jesus Christ, he’s the Lord, God in the flesh. came into the world. He has no sin, no sin nature. So he has no sin. But Christ, because He loves us and hates our sin, it says that He hates it because it separates us from Him.
So what Christ did for us, He took our sins, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead and said, if we would believe it, He would give us His righteousness. And if God gave me His righteousness, then I would be as righteous as God. Can I go to heaven if I’m as righteous as God. Well, yes. That’s a righteousness that God gives to me by faith in what he did for me. And God says, once you trust him, he’ll never cast you out and never lose you.
Miss Newson, all the world. Let’s pray, shall we? With every head bowed and every eye closed and no one looking around, if you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior. Right now, why don’t I just talk to the Lord and say something simple like this? Lord, I know I’m a sinner. I don’t understand it all, but I know that I’ve done things wrong. I believe that Christ died, paid for my sins, and I’m gonna trust Him this morning. There’s my only hope of going to heaven.
Friend, I’m not gonna have you forward, not gonna embarrass you. But right where you’re sitting, if what I said made sins, would you say, yes Lord, I will trust Christ as my Savior right now. And friend, by doing that, God will give you eternal life as a free gift. And He’ll never cast you out, never lose you. And you can know that you’re going to heaven when you die. Would you believe it? Would you trust Him? If you will, we’d just slip you in it very quickly say pray for me, I’ll trust Christ as my Savior this morning and I like you to pray for me.
Is there anyone at all before we close? If you’ve already trusted Christ as your Savior, do you see the responsibility of how all of us as God’s children are responsible to preach the gospel? One way or another, find a way, find a way. Because one day we’ll all stand before the Lord and give an account of ourselves. I won’t be judging you. You won’t be judging me. We all have our own Heavenly Father, and we’ll stand before Him. And you don’t want to be ashamed before Him that is coming.
Our Father, we ask Your blessings upon each one here, as Father Your protection, because we’re living in a sinful world. And the devil would like us to do everything in the world, but talk to people about their soul. He’d help us to have the confidence and the moments that we need and use this for Your honor and glory. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a teaching ministry of Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida with Dr.
