We pray that you will enjoy our commitment to the clear gospel of Jesus Christ, and that today’s concluding message of this teaching will be a blessing to you and your family. People in America are going to pay a great price for tolerating wickedness because now see at one time people were abhorred to think about two men, two women;;;;;;;; together at the Democratic Convention and then the next day there’s a picture of Barney Frank kissing a man. And then there was another picture of a woman kissing aysical woman.
You say, I don’t see anything wrong with it. They hurt nobody. It’s bringing the judgment of God upon this country. You say what? Because God doesn’t like it. It is a sin and it is wicked. It is wrong. It’s ungodly and there’s going to be judgment to pay. HowEPA know that? God’s word says so. Now we say we believe the Bible. Do we really believe the Bible? There is judgment coming. Nugsel, in verse 7. And going after strange flesh, or get these two are set forth.
See, destroyed in verse 5, and reserved in verse 6, and set forth for what? An example. Why did God do that? An example. Suffering, present tense. The vengeance of eternal fire. And that happened a couple thousand years ago. Oh, a three thousand years ago. maybe even 3500 years ago, but they’re still there suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. So did they do what they do and get away with it? No, they didn’t get away with it. You can’t live in sin and win and get away with it.
It is still wrong. It is wicked. Do you think God wants his children to do right? Yes. If you don’t, God says he’s going to have to chasten. He’s going to have to discipline. But anyway, as you go down through here, it says in verse 8. Likewise also these filthy dreamers. Look what he says. Look what the Bible calls them. I am mellow compared to what God says. Filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion and authority, speak evil of dignities.
And yet the Bible says Michael the angel, he has power, but He has limited power. He even had the speech over the body with the devil and so forth. That’s all mentioned here. But the thing that I want you to see is as you go down through here, look in verse 11. See in verse 11, there are scriptures about these false teachers and descriptions of these false teachers. And it’s talking about in verse 11, whoa, unto them, whoa unto them.
What if the Bible says that? That means judgment. Why is this written? This is written to believers. This is a warning. We’re living at a day when it don’t seem like it really matters because, well, it’s been like that for so long and in wisdom lost its, you know, the shot value and it’s acceptable. What does the homosexual want us to do, accept that as a acceptable lifestyle. Now it’s not just an acceptable lifestyle, they want to get married.
Why do they want to get married? Because you see marriage was designed by God. God’s the one that made the man and God made the woman and God brought them together and it says, they too shall be one flesh, two come together, one little baby, two, one flesh. See if Adam and Steve can produce one. Or two women can produce, it can’t happen. Impossible. If everybody did that, it’d be the death of the human race. And some people can’t even figure that out.
So woe, woe unto them. For they have gone in the way of Cain. See, Cain had his own religion. He was a religious man. He just brought his works. Abel brought his sacrifice. You see, God accepted Abel’s but not Cain’s. Cain produced, he was the first modernist in the Bible. He was a liberal. He had to do it his way, and not God’s way. Abel did it God’s way, but not Cain. So he says, there’s those who are not listening in paying attention, and therefore there is going to be judgment.
He says here, and ran greedily after the era of Balaam for reward. people that will do it for reward. Now he, very like enough, he would prophesy. And every time he did, it became a blessing to Israel. So we finally came up with a scheme. He says, take your women and let the men have the women. And then God will chase them. And it worked. did it for Fifty Looker. He did it for game and for power. You see, there’s some people that care nothing about truth and nothing about this country.
They simply want the position of power and honor as though there’s somebody. But when that man, that politician, looks at you and tells you how much he cares for you, he lands. He wants fame, honor, power, majority of people have no concern for anybody else. They just use that and it sounds so good. He cares about me and that’s amazing. I can say it to them and watch some of those speeches going on. And there’s people just all over the aisle and just cry.
I touch their heart. I care about us. He wants to take and get everybody together, show you how much he loves you. And all he wants to do is take all that money from all those other people and give it to you so you’ll vote for him. He has no concern at all for those poor folks. If you cared about poor folks, why would he try to make so many more of them? That’s a sermon there. Now look what he says.
And perish in the gain, say, of chor. Chorro, why can’t we have just as much power as Moses? I mean, God can work through us just like we don’t need the Bible. There’s other extra biblical sources of authority. And so you wing people away from the truth of what God’s Word says. A little lie here, another little lie there, another little lie here, and next thing you know, you destroyed. Our country’s been destroyed because the families are been destroyed.
The people are been destroyed. There are six things, a good five of them anyway. Spots. The Bible tells in the book of Ephesians in chapter 4, maybe chapter 5, talks about keeping your garment clean. Yeah, these are spots in your love feast. In other words, that shows you love somebody and you’re doing what you’re doing because you care and you love, he says, but that philosophy is put in spots all over your white, beautiful gown. The Bible talks about, he doesn’t want us to have spots all over our robe of righteousness from the filth of the world, because we believe something that we’re not supposed to believe.
And so he says, these are some of those spots that come from some of these wicked people. And this is his definition as he describes them. You see where he says there in chapter 12, These are spots when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear. As a shepherd is supposed to feed the flock, they’re being fed, feeding themselves. We often call it, they’re not feeding the flock, they’re fleecing the flock. There’s people that want to fleece everybody. Can you imagine how many millions of dollars are spent on an election?
It’s more than I made last year. You’re talking about billions of dollars when you add all of it up. It’s incredible. And then Jesse Jackson’s son has been out of work for a couple of months, but they still get paid. . For several months, don’t you show up for work? Look how much time Obama had been running around the country doing all of this, as you would say, fundraising, political time out from his job, because that’s not his job.
His job is not to raise money for his next election. We are supposed to be paying him to go into that White House and do a job. Is he working with Congress? There’s nothing being done. And he flies all over the place in that Air Force One. And America pays for it. And what is he doing to stabilize our country? I get upset just a little bit. But now notice what he says here. Feeding themselves without getting clouds, without water.
And trees, in verse 13, waves of the sea, wondering stars, these are descriptions of those that we need to contend against. They are giving us the impression that there’s something that they’re not. They deceive, they lie. And there’s people that believe those lies. It’s just saying, wouldn’t it be great if we had people with some character that knew truth and you could put godly men in place of leadership and you didn’t have to worry about it? You know, there’s always somebody lobbying from different parties.
You’d ascend in money so they can go up there and lobby and we’re fighting for your rights. Why would we have to fight for our rights in between elections if we put good people up there? be defended in our rights, but the things they pass or don’t pass. If they only pass, that which is constitutional, we would have any problems. What they’re doing is not passing things that are constitutional. They’re passing whatever they want. Constitution means nothing.
And then it says here in verse 14, Enoch also, the seventh from Adam prophesied of these, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints to execute judgment upon all, to convince all that the ungodly deeds and so forth. You don’t see how many times the word ungodly is mentioned down through here. Means they’re not like God, they’re not like God, they’re not like God. And so he gets down here to verse 17, but beloved, like the whole tone has changed.
The way it’s worded is a different attitude, a different spirit, because he’s warned now he’s pleading, beloved. You remember the apostles told you something. Do you remember what they said? They told you that there was going to be these problems come. But see what hurts is when they don’t listen to what God says and they believe the stuff that does the damage. You see in verse 17, but beloved, remember either words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ?
How that they told you? There should be mockers in the last time who should walk after their own ungodly lust. These be they who separate themselves, sensual having not the spirit. I would say they don’t have the spirit and the spirit there is kept. So any man who has not the spirit of God is none of God. As he says in the book of Romans in chapter 8. So we have people that are saying and doing a lot of things and they wear the believer down.
It gets you to the place where you just don’t want to fight anymore. It takes that steel rod out of your backbone and replaces it with a piece of spaghetti. And God’s people don’t stand like they ought to because they’re afraid of losing something. Maybe I’m getting meaner because I’m getting older. No one will be out of here soon anyway. I hate to face God saying that, Lord, I was afraid. I didn’t want to say anything. I didn’t want to rough them about these feathers.
I didn’t want to hurt nobody’s feelings. is what about mine? I told you what to do, you’re supposed to do it. So therefore, believe in that what I’m saying is truth, I will say it. The other thing keep in mind. In verse 20, There’s several things that are mentioned down through here because there’s build and there’s pray. There’s keep and there’s look. These are things that you and I are to do to contend for the faith. You’ve got to do what it takes to keep you strong yourself.
You can’t sometimes keep everybody else strong. Can you do enough to keep you strong? Would you consider yourself to be a strong Christian or a weak Christian? strong in the faith. Look what he says in verse 20. But ye be love it, but in contrast, building up yourselves on your most holy faith. That’s how you can contend for the faith. You’ve got to be strong. You’ve got to do that which will build you strong. And he says here, praying in the Holy Ghost.
Praying in the Holy Ghost means praying according to the will of God. See the Holy Spirit teaches us what the word God says, and we pray according to God’s will. So you studied the word so you can get strong. And then you pray according to the will of God. But you see, you work like it all depends on you and you pray like it all depends on God because God uses prayer and God uses work. It’s not do all the praying and then you do nothing.
And nor is it you do everything and Don’t depend on God and don’t pray. Don’t seek His will. So we see it’s not a one way. It’s you and the Lord walking together. And how can two walk together unless they be agreed? So be in agreement with God and you’d be surprised with God, looking in verse 20, keep yourselves in the love of God because there’s false teaching to get you from loving God. If God, he said in the book right before this, If you love me, keep my commandment.
He that loveth me will obey me. And if you will serve him, him will my Father honor. So when he talks here about keeping yourselves in the love of God, means don’t let somebody with their false teaching lead you astray. Don’t let them steal and rob from you. That which God wants to do with you while you’re here in life. And then when you get to heaven, the rewards that you’re going to get. He also says here in verse 21, he’s just looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ until eternal life, until you get there.
Till you get there and can actually lay claim and lay hold on it until then, you’re supposed to keep looking, keep walking, keep praying and building. In other words, you’ve got enough things to do in order to contend for the faith. But if you can’t keep yourself strong, you can’t contend against anything the devil may throw at you. Because he’ll just whoop you from one end to the other. All your life. Some Christians never have any victory in their life.
But look what else he says. He says, and of some have compassion, making a difference. You see, if you will build up yourself and you’ll keep yourself strong and you keep praying, you keep doing what’s right, your compassion will help somebody else. And not only that, it’s not only here in verse 23 pulling the lost out of the fire. We’re talking about pulling God’s children out of the fire. They’re the one that get trapped and there is a fiery looking for a judgment as it says in the book of Hebrews in chapter 10 because of God’s people.
So if you will do what you can and you will contend, then you try to get God’s children and help them. See, it’s not just that I’m going to go through life and I’m going to protect myself. I’m just going to keep me safe. It’s not just you. It’s everybody you can influence. That’s how you win in the long run because we could keep on until we got all of God’s children. What do we need of all of God’s children all across America all took a stand?
we’re not going to do that anymore, we’re going to do this, and this is what we believe and we’re not moving. But so many of God’s children are putting the wrong people in place of leadership. Do you know Obama could not have got in if it hadn’t been for half the Christians in America putting in there? Now when it comes up to the election, I’ve had some people ask me, who am I going to vote for? Well, I’m not going to tell you.
I will say this. Some people say, well, it’s the lesser of two evils. Always try to look at it this way. And I’ve said this before. Find out which one you think the devil would vote for and vote for the other one. But there’s another way. In every competition, there’s always one. Even if both or bad, one will be better than the other. for the one you think is better than the other one. Because if you don’t vote, the worst one will get in.
We’re not talking about electing somebody to be the pastor of the church, to be our missionary. We’re voting for somebody that can fly the plane. I just flew back to Philadelphia. I have no concern. I don’t even care what part he belonged to. I just want to know, can he fly the plane? Can he keep it within the boundary? Now, look where in verse 1, 24. He says, now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, from believing what false teachers are telling him, because see, as a child of God, as a child of God, if you don’t contend for the faith and you don’t build yourself up and you don’t keep walking with the Lord as you should, you’re going to fall.
Guaranteed, you’re going to fall. You can’t stand. And the Bible says in the book of Ephesians chapter 6, and having done all stand But the stand, but people can’t stand if they don’t know truth. And so you stand the way God wants you to stand. And it says, and to present you faultless before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy. You see, you not only want to finish your course, you know, your race, you want to finish it with joy.
And when you die and face God, You’re going to wish you had done what you should have done. And then he’s going to reward you for all eternity. So is it going to be worth it? It’ll be worth it. How do you think some of those? Well, I guess some of the founding fathers back there in the first century, you know, a lot of them died at the stakes.
They died. Some were beheaded, crucified, upside down. Even if you ever get a chance to read Fox’s book of martyrs, they would put these sharp stakes out there and they would take a person that greased a pole and they would put a person on and then jam that pole up into their gut. And they would do hundreds like that. Then they would put animal fat all over them. And while they’re still alive, set them on fire. And all they had to do was say, Caesar is king.
All they had to do was just deny the Lord. And they would rather die. How would you like to do that and see your wife and your children die like a, oh, because you wouldn’t deny it? And we have people the day there, well, I’m afraid I’ll lose my job. I’m afraid I’ll lose my home. I’m afraid I’ll lose this. I’m afraid of that. And fear paralyzes us. And we don’t have a mark. Isn’t it something that back in the first century, 120 people could shake the known world?
We could have 120 churches in same town and they don’t even know we’re alive. Something’s wrong in America. Wouldn’t you say something’s wrong with our testimony? There’s something that we’re not doing. I wonder if the apostles were here today. I wonder if they could make a difference. You think they might make a difference? And if they did, what would they do that’s different than what we do? It is something to think about. Look in verse 25, there’s a word that I like here.
It’s called now and ever, or now and forever. You see it says in verse 25, to the only wise God and Savior be glory and majesty, dominion and power both now. Now, now. He wants power, honor, and glory given to Him. But whatever is done, it just wants us to stand. Whatever it is to stand, do right, believe truth. And then let God deals with all the rest of it. A lot of things I can’t make happen, some things I can’t change.
I’m just to be faithful and stand strong. That’s something God wants every one of us, as his children to do in contending for the faith, now, and forever. This in represent you and me. And if you’re watching by internet, I hope that this will make sense to you. I want people to know, yes, I hate and despise all the religions of the world if it’s not the truth that comes from this book. It does does not mean I hate the people.
I hate their belief. I hate the way God warns about the way that they take. But we still want to try to reach as many people as we possibly can because this message is still about the greatest thing of all. This is you and me. This is sin. We have all sinned. And God says for us to pay for sin is eternal separation from God in hell. But He loves us and wants us to go to heaven. And to go to heaven, you’d have to be perfect as righteous as God.
None of us are perfect. None of us are righteous. We’ve all come short of God’s perfection. And God says, you cannot save yourself. You cannot work your way to heaven. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord. God in the flesh. He came into the world because He loves us. He hates our sin because our sin separates us from Him. So Jesus Christ took all the sin, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead, and He said that if we would believe that He did it for us, He would put this payment to our account.
This shows you how much God loves us, what He did for us, that He will forgive us, give us eternal life, we get to go to heaven, shows the love that He has. But the person that does not accept Christ as Savior is going to feel the wrath of God. be that believeth on the sun shall see life, but he that believeth not the sun shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides upon him.” This same Jesus judgment has been committed into him.
By this man he will judge the world. By this man Jesus Christ there is a day coming in which as a judge the Bible says whether they trusted him or they did not trust him are going to be cast into a lake of fire. So you can have grace now, accept love now, peace now, or judgment later. That same wonderful God lets us know how He thinks about sin, and wicked people and ungodliness. And we may not think it’s that bad, but God says it is.
Because if we can tolerate it in the government and don’t care, if you can tolerate it in the schools and don’t care, there’s people can tolerate it in the church and don’t care, then you’ll wind up tolerating in your own life and don’t care. Let’s pray, show it. With every head bowed and every act closed, no one looking around. If you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, I urge you to do so to do it now. And if you have never trusted Christ, I’m going to ask you if you just slip your hand up very quickly and put it right back down.
By that you mean, yes, pray for me, I will trust Christ as my Savior. Or if you’re watching by internet, you can do it right where you’re sitting. Say, I’m a sinner. I realize I can’t save myself and I will trust Christ as my Savior and preach out life for you to pray for me. I would appreciate it if you’re right, let me know. But right where you’re sitting, you can believe that. You can believe it. Christ says, He that believeth of me hath everlasting life.
If you believe it, you will have everlasting life, the authority of His Word. Our Father, we thank You so much for this time together. Bless each one here. We pray for wisdom. And Father, we want to do right. We want to contend for the faith. And Father, we just pray for protection for our people here, our church, and all that we do. We’re Your children. Help us to serve You as we ought to. And honor You in all things.
