We pray that you will enjoy our commitment to the clear gospel of Jesus Christ, and that today’s first part of this two-part message will be a blessing to you and your family. This week, after all these ladies have said all the things that they’ve done about keeping the secret, I got a hunch that was probably one or two lies that were told. I came this close. I told somebody, I’m going to speak online on Sunday. I wanted something that everybody could relate to.

The Bible says, let God be true in every man. That refers to women too. a liar. We are all liars, isn’t it something? There’s only one that never told a lie. There’s only one that’s truth. Jesus Christ is the truth. God can not lie, but we sure do. But you know, it’s not an out and out lie, you know, little fibs. You know, you ever heard white lie? You ever tell your kids something close to Christmas, of course. Live by it?

You ever make a promise and then you didn’t keep it? You’re glad about it? Well, you know, this morning I’m going to just mention to you the four biggest lies. One is the checks and the mail. You know that’s a lie. The checks always in the mail. Number two is I gave it the office. Lie on your dime. I’m from the federal government and I’m here to help you. Somebody called me up and I don’t know who they are.

This is this Ralph Ornel I said, is this the IRS? I don’t know why I do that. I just, it’s just natural. But one of the biggest lies is I’m a preacher and I want to say a few words. know, it’s so easy to lie. I love to tell jokes. Things that you know sometime that’s not true, but everybody would know it’s not true because you know it’s so ridiculous. My daughter, Trina, she said in here, her husband has always wanted to be an 18-wheeler driver.

You know, to drive those 18-wheelers over the road. Well, that’s what he’s doing. He’s driving an 18-wheeler. And so I asked him one day, I got a question for you. I said, you’re coming down this hill. You’re letting it really roll. You’ve got it up to 80, 90 miles an hour. And you can see you’re gonna come up this little hill, hit the crest of that hill and you’re gone. I said, when you get down to the bottom and you really don’t, you know, that thing’s peaked out and you’re really just a flying in this 18-wheeler.

And another 18-wheeler pulled right out in front of you. And there’s a cliff on this side. And you know that you can’t stop. You can’t go to the right, you can’t go to the left. So you decide you got to pass. And soon as you decide to pass, and before you can get past this 18-wheeler, there’s another one coming over the hill. I said, what are you gonna do? He said, I’m gonna wake up, train him. I says, why are you gonna wake her up?

Says, cause she ain’t never seen a wreck like we’re gonna have. Now you know it’s a lie, but it’s a story. But I’ve done a lot of funerals. And this is not a joke. I had just done this funeral and it was under the tin outside, you know, in the graveyard. I finished and I said, Amen. And I was going to go and shake the people’s hands on the front row. You know, it’s just typical. That’s what you do.

And so I said, Amen, the phone rang. I forgot to turn off my cell phone. And so it was embarrassing me because I don’t really know how to cut it off. I know you probably didn’t do anything to me, but I panicked. I don’t know how to get it off. It just rang and everybody just standing there watching me. So I went ahead and sighed to Andrew. I said, hello. I have not clue who it was. It must have been a wrong number.

And so I put it back up and looked at everybody and says, that was the Lord. said they arrived safely. I did. I really did. But there’s just some things that are, you know, the joke that they can be funny, you know, like this guy, he was walking, well, he then got drunk. He was going through the cemetery. They had just dug a fresh grave and it was toward the evening and so he didn’t watch what he was doing.

He fell into that grave. Well, you know, being drunk And he didn’t have his sense of life. He tried and tried to get out, but he couldn’t get out. So he just decided just to get in one corner and go to sleep. Later on that night, another drunk came through. He fell in the same grave. He tried and tried to get out, couldn’t get out. Well, all of his shenanigans woke up to the other man up. He woke up and he says, you can’t get out of here.

He did. You see, is that shady? Is that a lie? You know, like this one man. He went to the cemetery and he fell on the grave and he couldn’t get out and he lay down there. And later on he got cold. Oh, cold. This other man came to the thing. He heard him over there. I’m cold. So he walked over there and he looked down there and there was this man laying down there. I’m cold.” He says, you ought to be cold.

You kicked all the dirt off. But you see, as you go through life, if you don’t learn how to laugh a little bit, you’re going to cry most of the way. Bible talks about laughter, merriment, there’s medicine to the soul. You ever noticed that sometimes those comedians live longer? Bob Hope does another guy who lived almost a hundred. He He was about this tall and kept getting shorter, he got older. What was his name? George, see everybody knew it, see you knew it.

You see, once you trust Christ as your Savior, God gives you eternal life. But there’s somebody that is a liar, and it’s not only what he is, he is the lie. John chapter 8, Jesus says concerning the devil, he is a liar. He’s a liar. I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of 1 John and 1 John 1. There’s an interesting verse here that I want you to see. And while you’re turning there, you know, there was this kid in school.

Believe it or not his name was Peter Amato. He was just a little kid, but he was always lying. I’m always telling lies. And so the teacher finally got to hold him and drug him in the office and says, principal, I can’t handle it. You’re going to have to deal with this kid. So the principal thought, I’m going to tell this kid some lies that he’ll see how stupid it is to tell all these lies. So he says there, isn’t Peter, I want to tell you a story.

I want you to tell me if you believe this. Hey, go ahead. He says there was this plane getting ready to take off on the runway. Going 200 miles an hour. Loaded with people, and there was this little dog that ran out on the runway and was running 200 miles an hour, keeping up with that plane. He says, you believe that? See, I believe it. He said, the plane took off and the dog jumped up on the wing of the airplane and it went all the way up 35,000 feet and the dog is hanging on by his claws.

He said, you believe that? He said, I believe it. He said, when he got up there, that dog jumped off the airplane, about five miles and lived. He said, you believe that? Peter said, I believe it. He said, he came face to face with a big old grizzly bear, big old grizzly bear. And he got in a fight. And that little dog beat that big old grizzly and ate him up. He says, you believe that? He says, I believe that.

The principal says, why would you believe a story like that? He said, that was my dog. That was my dog. You know, the last liar or the first liar never has a chance because after that, you know, it just gets worse and worse. Here in 1 John, I want you to see some looking, verse 10, If we say, if we say that we have not sinned, we make him a what? Would you call God a liar? If you say you don’t sin, you are a liar.

If you say you don’t have a sinful nature, you’re calling God a liar. Why? Because God says you do. Now it’s difficult for people to believe what God says. And yet God cannot tell a line. If this is the word of God, then the word of God doesn’t lie to us. It tells us the truth. Whether we like it or we don’t like it, but it’s the truth. As you study the Scriptures, it gives a lot of promises of what God said.

And if God says something and promises something, if God doesn’t fulfill his promise, then God is a liar. And if you don’t believe what God says, God says, you’re calling him a liar. If God makes a promise and you don’t believe him, you’ll call God a liar. You see, it’s not a joke to mock or make fun of God. How do you mock God when you mock sin. When you think you can sin against God and get away with it, you’re deceiving yourselves and the truth is not in you.

In other words, what you’re doing is that’s not true. Do you know that majority of people live a lie? You often hear about, you know, cope is the real thing. No, knowing the Lord is the real thing. Serving the Lord is the real thing. Everything else is living a lie. Because, see, God tells the truth. The devil tells a lie. Whichever one you choose to believe is the story of your life. You’re either living the truth or you’re living the lie.

Now, I want you look at this in chapter 2 of 1 John where you are, look there in verse 21, I have not written unto you because you know not the truth, but because you know it and that no truth or no lie is of the truth. Who is a liar? Who is a liar? But he that denyeth that Jesus is the Christ, He is anti-Christ or against Christ, that deniesth the Father and the Son. You see, the Bible teaches that God, the Father, has a Son.

His Son is Jesus Christ. And you’ll honor the Father if you honor the Son. And if you don’t honor the Son, you don’t honor the Father. And anyone who tells you that the Father doesn’t have a Son, then the Father can’t be the father. He has to have a son. There is religions today that teach that Allah doesn’t have a son. Oh I think I gave it away. The religion of Islam is not the truth. I don’t believe that a child of God should have to be afraid of a lie.

We know the truth, we believe the truth, we teach the truth, we stand for the truth, we You can 10 full of faith. So I want you to take your Bible and look at this. In verse 25, this is the promise that he had promised us. What is it? Eternal life. If he made a promise and he cannot lie, he has to keep his word. He promised. Well, what did he promise? That if you believe on Jesus Christ and trust him as your Savior, you can have eternal life.

life. Now if you don’t believe, he meant what he said, then you question him, you doubt him, you call him a liar. God doesn’t like to be called that. God will deal with people who don’t believe him. The Bible says he’s coming back one day to take vengeance upon those that believe not the gospel in flaming vengeance. The book of Thessalonians. Now look there in chapter 5, chapter 5, 1 John, chapter 5, look in verse 10, in verse 10.

And you notice there in verse 10, he says, he that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself. that believe if not God had made him a liar because he believed if not the record that God gave of his son. You see it’s not cool to deny that what God says is truth. It’s wicked to deny God not to believe what God says. So you see it’s very very important for you and I to believe God.

Trust him. One of the biggest problems that even children of God have is after they’ve trusted Christ as their Savior, they know they have eternal life, they know they’re going to heaven when they die, and then they think it doesn’t matter how you live. Is that the truth or is that a lie? That’s a lie. It does matter. The Bible talks about how that God is gonna chase in his children. If you don’t believe that, You believe in a lie, because He will.

You see, how you believe affects everything about you. It gives you the peace and the joy, the happiness that you want. Or if you don’t believe truth, you can have all the false hope and the false peace and the false joy, and you’re going to be one miserable individual because you don’t have the confidence that what you believe is truth. balls on the tomb. Do you have a hard time trying to distinguish between the candidates and what they’re saying?

Is it true? They even have a thing called, now, I’m politically proud to tell you whether it was true or not. It’s almost true. It’s not quite true. It’s really true. Pants on fire. And we all see all this stuff. And they always, have you ever Notice that once you listen to a speaker, they have to have 10 commentators come on right after him and tell you what he said. You know what? Because they know you ain’t smart enough to know what he said.

They have to tell you what he said. And everyone of them will put their spin on what they think is what he really meant to say. And nobody says what they really mean because everybody tells them, you know, he didn’t mean that. And they try to look for one little word, to one little phrase so they can try to snatch them. You know, the Bible says they even came to Jesus to try to catch him in his words. Asking in certain questions so they can catch him.

Try to make him make a mistake. Do you know there’s a devil that’s after you and he’s always trying to catch you making a mistake? He wants people to see your air, your fault, your flaws. Do you know there’s some people that never look at what good somebody’s doing, they’re always trying to pick somebody apart. Now does that come from God, does that come from the devil? Do you want God to use you or do you want the devil to use you?

You know some of God’s people are doing the devil’s work. You can be doing the devil’s work. When you lie on people and you cheat and you deceive them, when you’re dishonest, you see the whole thing about serving God being righteous, being honest, living a pure life as close as you can. Realizing that if God is truth, a Christian is to live according to truth, not to live a line, not to believe a line. That’s what makes us different.

Then the world. We have something worth hanging on to, and the Bible talks about, hang on to that whole fast to that which is of sound doctrine. Sound doctrine comes from sound words. Sound words and sound doctrine is what gives you and I a sound mind. God have not given to us the Spirit of fear, but of love and of power and a sound mind. So here in verse 10, he says, because he believe if not, the record that God gave of his son.

This is the record that God hath given to us eternal life and this life is in his son. He that hath the son hath life, he that hath not the son of God hath not life. Isn’t that simple? God says, if you believe it, you have everlasting life. You don’t believe it, you don’t have everlasting life. He that believeth on the son hath everlasting life and he that believeth not the son shall not see life but the wrath the God abided upon him, John 3 36.

So you see, it is important to believe what God says. Did you know 52 and a half years ago in a little old living room in Matthew, Georgia, when I trusted Christ as my Savior, he gave to me the free gift of everlasting life. And he said he had never cashed me out and never loosed me. You know how I know I’m going to heaven when I die because if he’ll never cashed me out and never lose me, he gave me eternal life.

I can’t go to hell if I tried. I haven’t tried. But I can’t go to hell because I’ve got God bound by His Word. He cannot lie. He promised. Promised. If all my sins are paid, then there’s no sin to condemn me to hell. He died for all of my sins, not most of my sins, not some of them, all of my sins. Now look what he says here in verse 13. Is this verse true or is it a lie?

These things have I written unto you that keep the Ten Commandments and obey the golden rolling, go to Calvary Community Church? See, it doesn’t say all of that. These things have I written unto you that they leave on the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life if you just keep on living right. See, you shouldn’t add to the Word of God. It didn’t say that. believe they’re saved to just sin again?

Well, they ain’t no sin to Him, save me. Because I’m going to sin again. I am saved forever. And that’s the truth. These things have are written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. You can know that you have eternal life. Why? Because God says, oh, and God cannot lie. Look there in the book of Titus, just turn to your left to the book of Titus.

In the book of Titus, interesting little statement made here. It’s a small little book. Titus in chapter 1, Titus chapter 1 looked there in verse 2, in verse 2. He makes the statement in verse 2, in hope of eternal life, which God that can not lie, promised. You know why this is written, Because see, if God promised and God can’t lie, the promise has to be fulfilled. God has to keep His Word. He’s not like us. Now, there are some things that God makes promises based upon contingencies, whether or not they’re conditional and they’re unconditional promises.

You see, there’s things that God says, I will do this if you do this, and I’ll do this if you do this. But He promises eternal life if we trust Him as our Savior. God also His promise that He’ll bless my life if I serve Him. He’s also told me that when I get to heaven He’s going to reward me for what I did for Him. But that’s conditional upon me serving Him. Going to heaven is a gift. It’s free.

What I have when I get there depends upon what I do for Him. But me getting there, well that depended upon what he did for me. See, God doesn’t want the righteousness man sends up. He wants us to accept the righteousness he sent down. Jesus Christ is the righteousness of God. It’s like me putting on the robe of righteousness, and when God looks at me, he sees the righteousness of Christ. I’m not going to heaven because I did something in a righteous way.

And I live so good and God you ought to be lucky to get me. No, by grace are you saved through faith that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God and not of works lest any man should boast. It is not of works. So in this verse, in hope of eternal life, which God that cannot lie promised before the world began. You see, God had already determined how he was going to save a man. Before man was ever born before he did any good or bad.

God had already decided because of the foreknowledge of God. See, the foreknowledge of God is different from predestination. Foreknowledge means that God has knowledge beforehand. So that’s an attribute of God. But when talking about predestination, that’s an act of God. That’s what He does. One’s what He knows, one’s what He does. And God has determined before the foundations of the world that He would save everyone that believes on Jesus Christ. And their destiny, eternal destiny, is fixed beforehand. All those that would believe on Christ.

But it is your choice and my choice to decide, will I or will I not believe on Christ? So when I trusted Christ as my Savior, predestination of God is the security of every believer. That one day I’ll be made pure and holy, just like him without spot. I’m going to heaven because of what Jesus Christ did for me. See, a man is not chosen by God as though I’m going to pick and choose and save those and the rest of you can go to hell.

I believe that the Bible teaches God so loved the whole world and that when Christ died, He died for all the sins all the world and that I do not have the authority to tell some people God doesn’t love you. Because whenever we read John 3, seek God, so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Am I supposed to tell people there’s some people God doesn’t love? There’s some people Christ didn’t die for it. There’s some people He won’t save.

Now it’s up to us as individuals to accept the payment Christ made on the cross force, and He said, if we would believe, then we would have as a freak yet everlasting life. Pending your Bible to the book of Titus in chapter 3. Titus chapter 3 there, I want you to see this verse. Look there in verse 4. Verse 4, you see the first three verses talks about how bad we were. And we have done a lot of bad things.

But he says, in spite of how bad we are, and that no man can save himself. But then he says they’re in verse 4, but after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared. He appeared when God sent his son into the world for the sins of the whole world. We’re looking verse five, not by works of righteousness which we have done. We are saved and can know that we’re saved, but not by works of righteousness which we have done.

No man has ever been saved by his works. There are many preachers and many religions that teach that you have to live a certain way until the day you die and then you can maybe have a chance of going to heaven. That’s a lie.
