If I was the devil, I would really work on everybody. I’d have to get as much, you know, know, so seeds of discord get everybody hurt or everybody mad, get something going on. Did you realize some of the key people we have in this ministry are getting sick? I mean, Peter over here, he’s not in the best of health and Greg back there, he’s been sick for a while. James back there has been sick. Dr. Polson is not able to be here tonight because he’s sick.

And it just seemed like, you know, you would think, okay, we could be somebody else, but it’s the leaders, the people that you’ve got to have to put everything together and make things. Mike, how come you’re feeling so good? If I was Mike, I’d go home and look at the mirror and say, oh, what’s wrong with me? How come I’m not? Why ain’t I sick? But I feel pretty good myself. But for a while there, you know, for a month and a half, I had this lingering cough and so forth.

I thought the only way I could cure this cut off my head. And but the Lord is gonna bless us and He’s gonna put a hedge of protection around us. And we’re gonna have to go through some speed bumps. And there’s gonna be trials and tribulations, but you just keep going, you just don’t stop. And so anyway, y’all do need to pray for that. Now here’s a song I want you to learn. I’m gonna teach you a song tonight.

It’s a simple little song. this one that little kids learn. But because of what we’re talking about tonight, you know, the Bible says, present your body as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto the Lord. It’s your reasonable service. So your body has parts to it and you have eyes and ears and a tongue and you got hands and you got feet. So you know the song, so I want you to sing it with me. It goes like this, Oh be careful little eyes, what you see.

Oh be careful little eyes, what you see. There’s a father up above, looking down in tender love. Oh be careful little eyes, what you see. Oh be careful little ears, what you hear. Oh be careful little ears, what you hear. There’s a father up above, looking down in tender love. Oh, be careful little ears, watch you hear. Oh, be careful little tongue, watch you say. Oh, be careful little tongue, watch you say. There’s a father up above, looking down in tender love.

Oh, be careful little tongue, watch you say. Oh, be careful little hands, watch you do. Oh, be careful little hands what you do. There’s a father up above, looking down in tender love. Oh, be careful little hands what you do. Oh, be careful little feet where you go. Oh, be careful little feet where you go. There’s a father up above, looking down in tender love. Oh, be careful little feet where you go. Now don’t you like that little song?

So when you think about, you’re gonna serve the Lord. You serve the Lord through the body. And the body, there’s members of the body. And so you dedicate the body to the Lord. So therefore it determines a lot about what you do and what you say and what you see and what you talk about and you do and where you go. So all of it’s very important to take your Bible turn tonight to the book of Romans. The Bible tells us to surrender your members of the body to the Lord.

Now in Romans it’s just you, your body. The whole thing. But this more specific, it gets down to the members of the body. And so he makes a statement here in verse 11 of Romans chapter 6. Likewise, reckoning also yourselves to be dead indeed, unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin, that old sinful nature, therefore reign in your mortal life. body that ye should obey it in the lust thereof. Now you and I live in a mortal body.

Mortal means it’s subject to death. So God hasn’t yet saved the body, hadn’t done anything with the body, but we’re waiting for the redemption of the body. When we get our new glorified body, but until then we live in a mortal body, a body that’s going to die. But look what he says. In verse 13, neither yield ye your members, the members of this body, as an instrument of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourselves unto God as those that are alive from the dead and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

So you have a body that God wants to use. Now, there in verse 16, he says, no ye not that to whom ye yield yourself servants to obey his servants, you are, to whom you obey, whether of sin and the death or of obedience unto righteousness. So he’s talking about this body of ours and how we yield. Look in verse 19, I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh. In other words, you may want to do a lot, but the body doesn’t want to participate.

The body is an infirmity because it has a sinful nature. It doesn’t always want to yield. It doesn’t want to submit your fighting continually the body. And look what he says. He says, for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity, even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. Because before sea you were not able to control the body. Now with the Holy Spirit living within you you can control the body.

But you have to control the body by controlling the mind. That’s why he says that we are to yield ourselves unto the Lord, that you may prove or discover what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. And you do that by the renewing of your mind. So I wrote down a few things that I wanted to share with you. Oh, be careful little eyes what you see. All right. Turn in the Hebrews, chapter 12, Hebrews and chapter 12.

And you’ll notice that in this little bitty book, little bitty book, it is really loaded with a lot of jewels. Chapter 11 gives us an example of a lot of individuals who God spoke to and they heard and they they obeyed. So they they saw something. Abraham saw a city. He looked for a city. Other ones they saw what God was talking about and they obeyed the Lord. When you come to chapter 12 and look there in verse 1 and 2, he says, Wherefore seeing?

Wherefore seeing? Because you got eyes. What do you see? When you read chapter 11, what did you see? What did you see? Because when I read chapter 11, I see something. I see a cloud of witnesses that heard what God said and they obey God. Do you see that? If you can see that, then you can see also that God was faithful to them and yet look what it says happened to them. Remember some of them starved to death, some were killed, some fed to the lions, some had horrible deaths.

Other ones didn’t. Not the same thing happened to all of them. A lot of different things happened to them. That’s why he says there in verse 33 of chapter 11, who through faith subdued kingdoms? Because they did what God says to you. See, God wants a lot of people to do a lot of things. God is a God of action. And to write righteousness, obtain promises, stop the mouths of lions. Do you know anything about Dangolin the Lions then?

Quince the violence of fire, escape the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant, and fight turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead, raised to life again. No, but see, not everybody did. Not everybody, but some. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, tortured, not accepting deliverance. God saw that. God records that. You see, not everybody goes to the same thing. Do you believe that as you and I serve the Lord that you’re going to suffer in ways that maybe somebody else doesn’t?

Not everybody goes to the same thing. I have broken arm before, maybe you never broke an arm. I broke a nose before. Maybe you never had a nose broke. We can fix that. No, we’re not. Not everybody’s had this blessed privilege like I have. Not everybody had a broke nose, but you may have had something that I haven’t had. It doesn’t matter. It’s the same God can be faithful to everybody. And one, He delivers and some others are tortured to death.

That doesn’t mean God isn’t faithful. God is faithful because He’ll never leave you and never forsake you. But that’s what He said. You think, well, He forsook me. He let me die. Well, wait a minute. When you die, where are you? He just took you home. You got a body rack which in your glory, I play your heal my body. It could by just letting you die and giving you a brand new Did he answer your prayer? You got it?

Look where you are now. Lord, I wish you delivered me from this bad situation that I’m in. Okay. Phew. You’re gone. It’s busy. You don’t get to call the way in which he does it. That’s his call. We’re just to walk through life and to trust the Lord. But when you look at it, what do you see? Because whatever you see God doing in people’s lives, lives. Did you know that helps you to see better concern in your own life?

Not that God does the same thing, but God is faithful and that God works in people’s lives. And outside of the scripture you can’t see God except God tells me this is what I did. This is what I did for all these people. And the other says that in verse 36, looking verse 36, and others had trial of cruel makings and scurging people mock them, making fun of them. God saw all of that, but they’re still faithful. And moreover, a bond and imprisonment, God knew that some of his people were in chains, and he didn’t deliver them.

Some of them imprisoned, but he didn’t deliver them all. That doesn’t mean God isn’t faithful. You see, God is faithful to do what God wants to have done, And God will let you go through a lot of things. When Jesus was here, was God the Father faithful? Very faithful. And even when he let him die, he was still being faithful because he’d had a plan. And when it was being beaten and all the things that happened to him, God was still faithful.

See, God’s character can’t change. That’s who he is, that’s what he is. Look in verse three of him, they were stoned, They were sawn and sundered, were tempted, slain with the sword. See, God didn’t heal them all. God didn’t deliver them all. But God’s word says that these people loved Him more than life. They loved the Lord more than life. Now, do you love the Lord more than life? Do you love them, Lord, more than your sickness, more than your problem, more than your help, more than your money.

Because see, if you love those things, more than you love the Lord, yeah, God failed you. Because you didn’t get what you wanted. Remember this, all bitterness and hatred and these things and all that is against God. You may use people, it’s always against God because you know God could change everything. God could have kept me from a lot of things that happened to me. I may get to heaven and find out he did. It could have been a lot worse.

That day that when I had to show off in front of all those kids that were standing on the bank, amazed at my sister’s ability to swim, watched me. I didn’t know that she turned her hand like that. came up out of the water. I just thought it was automatic. It’s not automatic. I did like that. Went straight to the bottom, hit the bottom of the river and my arms went down into the mud and folded up underneath me and my head got stuck in the mud in the bottom of a muddy river and nobody could see me.

How would you like to be a stick in the mud? You ever try to get your foot out of a mud and you got just you under your throat, try with your head, and I could feel the pain shooting down my neck, down into my back. And I realized I’m in trouble. I’m in trouble. And I couldn’t get my head unstuck. And nobody on the bank can see what’s going on with me. No, it could have been a lot worse.

Now on my way up, I did pass out and my sister got me and pulled me to the bank. regret it to this day. Not really. She didn’t have no. I let her to the Lord. It’s good thing she saved my life. I’ll let her to the Lord later. But you never know what’s going to take place in your life. But it depends on just what do you see. Now look down here in verse 1 of chapter 12. Wherefore seen we also are encompassed about what’s so great a cloud of witnesses.

Let us lay aside every weight and the sin which does so easily be set us and let us run with patience, the race that is set before us. Looking under everybody else to see what they get to do. No. When you begin to look at other people and you see, you realize that, you know, I know I’m a good preacher. Now why in the world does this guy at Old Steam? Why does he got 30,000 people and I don’t.

God doesn’t love me like them guys. Charles Stanley, he’s on TV all over the world. Ready all over the world. I’m on in Tampa, Colorado. Should I be envious and jealous of what those guys have? I’m not them. I’m me. So therefore I want God to use me to be the greatest me I can ever be. I don’t want to be the greatest you. I don’t want you to try to be me, but I don’t want you trying to be somebody else.

Just be what you are. Be satisfied. And you’d be surprised what God will do with you and for you and through you if you’ll just be satisfied with the Lord. Looking unto Jesus. Look to Him. And don’t get upset with Him. God doesn’t do everything the same with everybody. Some people really pay a price and they did. I would have preferred to be Daniel in the lion’s den, then towards the interstate. But see, that hasn’t been my call. I don’t know what God has down the road and neither do you.

Learn to be content in whatever God has for you. Whatever you consider to be good or bad, just learn to be thankful. Talk to the Lord about everything. So in this verse two, looking unto Jesus. Looking unto Jesus. The author and the finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him for endured the cross, despised the shame and set down at the right hand of the throne of God. So you see, there’s things that you and I are supposed to see.

So be careful little eyes, what you see. Looking first Corinthians in chapter two. 1 Corinthians and chapter 2. Now, there’s something God has revealed to us, but even in the book of Deuteronomy, he makes a statement, the secret things belongeth unto the Lord. God does not see fit to tell us everything. I had mentioned to them in the staff meeting we had the other day. little story about John chapter 6, the little story about a little boy who didn’t have much, he only had a couple of fish and some bread.

But there was over 5,000 that was hungry and needed to be fed. And so Jesus asked Philip. What are we going to do? But the scripture says he already knew in himself what he would do. He already knew what he was going to do. But it says he said this to Philip to prove him, to test him. Because he said the problem is too great. How in the world can we do anything? And then God didn’t take the disciples and work on Mary.

with them because it was a great problem and it was a great crowd and he took a little ad and he didn’t have much but showed how if somebody will take and give to the Lord that they do have. Did you know that God is able to take that little talent that little ability that you have and multiply it and you can become a blessing to a lot of people? Isn’t serving the Lord about being a blessing to people, whether for salvation or service.

Titles mean nothing to me. I don’t have to have a title to make me feel good. I don’t need it at all. And if I get to heaven and the guy who invented ties, I’m going to choke him with one. I don’t care if I tie. I just soon have on a t-shirt and a pair of dungarees. I asked Betty how many times I’ve come over here and I’d get my dungaree on. She says, Yank it, that ain’t gonna cut it.

You’re the preacher. You can’t do that. I have an image to uphold. I hope I’m upholding my image very well. I don’t always feel comfortable with this image, but it’s something that you have to do sometimes. But do you understand that God is working in our lives to do what He wants done. And God looks at you and you might not think, I don’t have any talent and abilities. All I’ve got is these tutel-a-low fish and a couple of pieces of bread.

Yeah, but in the hands of God. Did you know that I’ve seen God look over people who have a lot of talent and abilities and reach and get some dedicated nobody and use them in a great mighty way. I was just up there at the Bible study and they asked me if I’d speak. And of course I’ve been playing the guitar for, you know, 50 years, more than that. And Tim King, I led him to the Lord when I first came there.

He introduced me and he says, the guy who God used to reach me and change my life was was Yankee Arnold and I noticed thattif was leading the singing they didn’t have any song books He don’t play the guitar He don’t play the harmonica. They don’t play the piano. I Don’t even know if he can play a radio without getting static But he he gets the music right off the internet and does the best that he can But you Fixes it The kids that come, they don’t care.

I watched those kids and they were all singing. Most time you never get the boys to sing. You might get a couple girls are singing. Everybody else’s firehouse finds a sing in a way. And you got a couple kids that don’t sing. They’re all singing. This guy can’t sing. Good. He doesn’t have all the talent and abilities. But… But he loves the Lord and he loves the kids and his love will do what his talent and love will do His count in abilities can’t do.

Did you know that God can use anybody who has a good attitude and learn how to smile and be thankful to the Lord and they know that hey God God loves to this guy because somebody really cares and he’s doing a great work. But here in 1 Corinthians look there in chapter 2 He says in verse 9, but as it is written, I have not seen nor ear heard neither Magicka entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for love him.

That God has not shown us everything he has prepared for us. But you see, I have not seen everything. God has allowed us to see a few things. Let’s think of some of the pretty things that we do have in life. You know what I really like when I walk up implicated in the church parking lot. I love seeing those two plants that are out there that’s got those flowers on them. It seems like I don’t care what day you come, there’s always a flower blooming.

If you notice that, there’s flowers, boom, and it. And when you look over there, don’t that lawn look so pretty? Don’t it just look pretty? It looks good. They mean cutting down some limbs and getting it clean, so it looked good. So that when somebody comes and they got eyes, we want them to see something good. They’re talking about putting some flowers here and there, you know, and just so that it looks good,413 because it belongs to the Lord.

This place belongs to God. This is not Yankee’s church. I don’t own the church. I don’t own the people. This is our ministry that belongs to the Lord. And therefore we ought to do everything we can is unto thesoType. We’re servants together, workers together, labors together. And everybody does different stuff. Everybody does something different. But we need to look. Take a Bible looking 2 Corinthians in chapter 5. Just turn to your right, 2 Corinthians and chapter 5. Because the Bible tells us this body that we have, one of these days is gonna be dissolved.

You see there in verse one, for we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle word is solved, it means it’s gonna die. We have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens we’re gonna get a new body. Well, why is it talking about this whole house? This whole house. God came out one years and years ago and it was a great song. Talking about the body. He’s talking about the body because he wants you to see something in verse 18 while we look.

Not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. Can you see that? Can you see things that the natural eye cannot see? Can you see what God is saying? When God tells us to walk by faith, Can you see that? Do you understand? Seeing is understanding. He says, he that hath ears to hear, let him hear. He that has eyes to see. Let him see. Do you see what God’s talking about? And if you will, you’ll be surprised what God’ll reveal to you.

But at the things which are not seen, but the things which are seen are temporal, the things which are not seen are eternal. So the older we get, the more you see the eternal things, the more you have something to hold you on when you’re looking in the mirror. Do you look as young as you used to 10 years ago or 20 years ago? Don’t you think that you used to really look pretty good years ago? You look like a million dollars, didn’t you?

If you look in the mirror lately. Now I’m not talking about to your mom now or your wife. I’m talking about to you. I’ve got to better clarify that. So we have some wonderful things that God has given us to see, even with the natural eye. But he says there’s some things that we cannot see. I have not seen, ear have not heard, but God has prepared for them to let him. So there are some things, and you are supposed to keep focused upon them.
