Take your Bible and look there in the book of, let’s see, 1 Corinthians 1, 1 Corinthians and chapter 1, since we’re so close to 1 Corinthians here. And look there in verse 1. You might just look over this verse and then it’s mentioned in several places, but because it’s just thrown in there, it’s like it’s not that really that important. But what I want you to see is this. Paul called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ, and here’s why through the will of God.

It was the will of God that Paul do what he did. God wanted him. He even told that a night before he had, you know, baptized him so forth in chapter nine in the book of Acts. He says, I want to use this man. I’m going to show him what great things He must suffer for my name. They didn’t say what great things He must enjoy for my name, but what He must suffer for my name. Aren’t you glad God didn’t say, you know, there’s James Daniel, I’m gonna show him how much He has to suffer for me.

Tim, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. He just went on another cruise. That’s not one of those that broke down again, is it? I think they didn’t have two or three of them things break down recently. You know, I was thinking about a cruise. I was thinking about a cruise. And now I just cruise around in my car. That’s it.

But call that by the will of God. He did what he did, accomplished what he did, because that was the will of God. You see, in your life, you need to be soul on the fact that what I do is the will of God. That’s what God wants me to do with my life. Look there in Colossians in chapter one. We covered this when we covered a whole book of Colossians. But in Colossians in chapter one, you’ll see that the apostle Paul, not only wanted the will of God for himself, but one of the things that he sought was the will of God for others.

You see, one of the greatest things you should ever want is for God to use somebody else. You should want God to use people. You want God to use them. Sometimes I’ll be out there and I’ll go golfing with Gary back there. I’ve been fishing for many years, almost 50 years. So when I go again, I don’t always want to take and you know, catch the fish. I like to watch him bait him. And bait him, he does. Next thing you know, he’s in Game 3 CDs and 2 Heaven tracks and you know, and then we finally get off the first tee.

No, but he’s, he don’t waste too much time, but he’ll bait him and he’ll set him up and then sometime I’ll talk to him and I’ll get him to trust the Lord. Sometimes he’ll talk to him, he’ll give him the trouble. But I don’t want to start to steal fish from somebody. when you go fishing, it’s always good.

You might show a little bit, but don’t you get a kick out of watching somebody else catch a fish? Or do you just want to catch them all yourself? Well, it all depends. I go with Sidesmore or Peter Amato. Yes, I want to catch them all. And I want to catch the biggest fish, and I want to catch the first fish, and I want to catch the most fish. What’s wrong with that? But when it comes to serving the Lord, part of your joy is seeing others serve the Lord.

I was talking to Greg Stear the other day on the phone. I am just thrilled that he wants to serve a Lord. I’m just thrilled that they want to serve a Lord. That’s what I’ve been after. I want people to do something with their life. I want you to serve a Lord. I want you to amount to something, to accomplish something. I want you to do that. So the last thing I will ever try to do is to keep you from serving the Lord.

I want you to serve, O Lord. So anyway, in verse nine here, he makes a statement in Colossians in chapter one, in verse nine, for this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray against you. Oh, for you. Who said that? You can’t even see and you knew the difference. And to get to and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of his will and all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Why do you want to know his will?

So in verse 10 that you might walk worthy of the Lord and to all pleasing to be able to please the Lord in every area of your life. Then you need to know the Word of God. And so you know the Word of God, then you know the will of God. Know the will of God, you know how you’re supposed to live. See how easy it is? And so therefore, Paul wanted them to know the will of God. I’m hoping and desires that whenever Louie is working with the little kids, not only to see that they know the Lord, but also to see that they grow to want to serve the Lord, to do the will of God for the life.

Whenever you take what’s the name back there, I’ll never forget what’s his name. Jesse, if Jesse’s talking to the kids in ranch, I want him to try to instill within the do the will of God for their life. You see, you call it an addiction program or a recovery program, but whatever it is, you’re trying to get the people to do God’s will. We have camp, what are we doing that for? To get the kids to do the will of God.

Why do we have church? So we get everybody to do the will of God. And whenever he has choir practice and he’s got all these little darlings up there, he’s trying to teach them how to serve the Lord, how to use their voices as a ministry. It’s all about what is the will of God. And so that’s what we strive for, that’s what we work for. And whether it’s James with the group that has here, it’s to get these guys and girls to do the will of God for their life.

And everybody has a little bit here to do. And some of them work in a wana, But the goal is to get them to do the will of God. This is what Paul’s talking about. So you know what you’re doing. And if you don’t keep that in mind, you just look at it, it’s just a job, just a no job. And you’re tired of that in no time. But you’ve got to look at it and think, this is an important job.

This is what God wants you to do. I’m where God wants you to do. And I’m gonna do the best that I can and accomplish all that you can for the Lord. Take your Bible and turn to the Psalms. all the way back to Psalms. Psalms chapter one. I’m sure you’ve heard this verse before. Psalms chapter one and verse one. Psalms one verse one. So the fifth thing is God knows the future. Only God knows the future. And if you will do what God says do, it’ll be a wonderful thing to you.

But look there in Psalms chapter 1, look in verse 6, for the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shah perish. That’s God looking down the road. That’s God looking down the road. Isn’t it nice? Isn’t it wonderful that somebody who wants the best for me is looking down the road. You know this guy comes on some heights and he’s on this Fox on, always in the spin stops here and we’re looking out for you.

Riley and he says we’re looking out for you. No the Lord is looking out for me and he’s looking down the road and I can tell you this the spin stops here, the spin stops here. This is where the truth is. This is where God can reveal the way of man and the way of God. And if we will take and do what God says, God knoweth the way of the righteous. He made the way for the righteous. And the wicked, he knows the end thereof.

And that’s why when you eat Psalms 37, always cup it with Psalms 73, those two Psalms go together and it’ll really help your attitude because when you see the prosperity of the wicked, you’re, as David says, my foot has well I slipped until I went into the house of the Lord and I saw their end. Looking down the road, looking down the road. Such an important thing. Isaiah chapter 48, look at that verse, Isaiah chapter 48, Isaiah 48 and verse 17.

But notice what it says, let’s just start there in verse 16. to come near unto me. Here ye this, I have not spoken in secret from the beginning. From the time that it was, there am I. And now the Lord God in this spirit have sent me. Sound like theFrameworksity there, doesn’t it? The Lord and God, Spirit, me. In verse 17, thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, I am the Lord thy God, which teaches thee to profit, which teaches thee to profit.

You ought to underline this, called it so important. Which leadeth thee, by the way that thou should have come. Do you believe that God who created the heavens and the earth knows how you ought to live, knows what’s best for you, knows the future and you don’t know? And he knows what you can take. Did you know that there’s a great wisdom in God not allowing or allowing you or me to do everything we want to do? Because everything that we do, every ministry that we have becomes a pressure point.

Everything is pressure, pressure, pressure. And some people only have so much tolerance. can only take so much pressure before you explode. And God knows that if He gave you too much, you will fall totally apart. You will not be able to handle it. Do you think God is wise? Do you think He withhold any good thing from you? No. And God can always work things out for your honor and for your glory if you’ll do what God says to do.

God is going to bless you. and to believe that God is a good God. So always keep that attitude between you and the Lord. Lord, I don’t have to be the best in the world, but whatever I am, I want you to use me. And I can do whatever you want me to do. It doesn’t matter what it is. And God is looking for dedicated nobodies. He’s not looking for Superman. He’s not looking for just dedicated nobodies. Somebody wants to serve him.

So Lord, him, I send me. I’ll do it. And so that’s why I believe it’s so important that you see it and understand because you ever hear that song, Peace Like a River? When you understand it and you can accept what God has for you with its limitations, whether it may be, is peace, or look there in verse 18. All that thou hath hearkened to my commandment, then had thy peace been as a river. Thy peace like a river.

But see, it all depends on whether or not are you being led by the Spirit of God. Do you accept the will of God? And if you do, you’d be surprised the peace and the joy that you can have. Now, I have not always had everything I’ve ever wanted. I’ve had some good ministries and I’ve seen and I’ve lost some good things. And I have to realize they’re not mine. They’re not mine. I’m just a tool and God can loan those things to me for a while and then take them away if he wants.

You see, that’s not that important. Did I travel on the road yet? Did my wife like traveling on the road? She loves it, but we’re not doing what she loves. She’s doing what her husband wants to have done. So she has to submit, and sometimes that gets maybe a little hard sometimes. She doesn’t live in the house that I built for her, but she has to just whatever husband says, and here we are. So what? We know that one day when we get to heaven, we’re going to have a cemention.

We believe it anyway. He said he’s gone to prepare us one. So I’m going to have to trust the Lord and believe that he’ll work out everything else and give us stronger desires that are good in righteous and holy. And you should always believe when it’s all over with, you win. And that no sacrifice here is really that big of a really that big of a sacrifice. It just means you gave up something here for something better there. That’s a sacrifice.

Oh well. The next thing I want you to write down is God wants us to know the will of God. Do you know that God wants you to know the will of God? Well, it does. Look there in Hebrews in chapter 13. Hebrews Hebrews and chapter 13. Hebrews 13 and looking verse 20. I’ve read this many times before but I do believe that it’s worth looking at one more time. Hebrews chapter 13 and verse 20 and 21. In verse 20 says, Now the God of peace that brought again From the dead, our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you perfect in every good work.

And you ought to underline those next four words to do his will. God wants you mature enough to do his will. So he works in your life and he brings a lot of struggles in store for the life to strengthen you. I was told that this story about a man one time and he had a servant. And the servant was always praising the Lord. Everything was wonderful. Boy, isn’t God good. God is so wonderful. The man says, why don’t you shut up?

shut up. Everything is not wonderful. And not everything is so great. He said, he got where he couldn’t hardly stand it. Something go wrong, it seemed like. And so one day the man was doing something and was working the next thing, you know, he cut off his little finger. And the servant told him, says, well, you know, the Lord has a reason. He said, I don’t care about God having a reason why I lost my little finger. Got some mad when they throw him in jail.

And then it wasn’t long before natives came in and captured the guy and they were cannibals and they were going to eat the guy. They even got them all cleaned up and got the water, were boiling pretty good, got ready to throw them in and they got them up there and the men would just beside himself because they didn’t want to die and they looked at him and they were going to sacrifice him to the God you know and it says we can’t take this man.

He’s not complete. He’s not whole. And because of his finger been missing well they couldn’t do anything with him so they let him go. So when he got back he told the servant what had happened and the servant says see how good God is. See how good God is. Isn’t God wonderful? He said yeah but if he’s so wonderful what did he let me put you in jail? He says simple. If I had been with you, they would have ate me.

He says, I don’t have any fingers missing. You always got to find something good. You know, this one kid, he always had such a great attitude, good attitude. You know, God’s got something good for me here. And so this one guy, he thought, I’ll fix his kid. So he gave him a job out there in the barn. And he says, shovel out all this manure in here. So he started throwing out manure. And so he thought he’d go out there and check on see how he was doing.

And that guy, that kid, he had manure flying out the door, not the windows, and he was just in there a hollering and a singing and a shouting. He was so happy and excited. He says, how can you be so excited with all this manure? He said, well, this much manure, there’s gotta be a pony in here somewhere. But you gotta find something good in the thing of serving the Lord. And God will bless you if you do so.

And so he says here in verse 21, make you perfect in every good work to do his well, working in you. See, doing the will of God is God working in you. See, before he can work through you, he has to work on you so that he can work in you to get through you. Understand the Holy Spirit of God lives within you. And it says the same thing in the book of Philippians in chapter two about the Lord doing his work within us, his will.

So God wants to bless you, he wants to use you, and it’s so important that you understand that. Look in Colossians in chapter four, in verse 17, Colossians chapter four, and verse 17. This is on page 1266. And there’s a simple little verse that really makes it simple, really makes it good. So Colossians in chapter four, look there in verse 17. And this is what he says in verse 17, and say to Eretchippus, he says, take heed to the ministry which thou hath received in the Lord.

Do you believe that the ministry you have, God gave it to you? If you don’t, you’re gonna have trouble the rest of your life. You must believe that what you’re doing is what God gave to you. If you’re a housewife, God gave you a ministry. You may have to minister to your husband, minister to your kids, you minister at home, you keep it clean, you do the work you’re supposed to do, you fix your meals on time, you keep a house clean, you do all the things that are right.

That is a ministry. Not maybe your only ministry, but it is a ministry. The man accepts the responsibility to take care of his family, to feed his kids and close his life and kids and the house and to rent and pay all the bills and get all the, there’s a ministry there. And it is a job, it’s a responsibility. He says, see that you fulfill it. It’s a job. It’s a ministry. But you should believe that whatever God has for me and I’m living in this life, God is keeping the books.

And I want to be a good steward of whatever it is that God’s given to me. See, if I do my job, let’s say for example, here I am in the preacher. Let’s say I do it with a bad attitude. Do you think my bad attitude is going to affect my wife? And if it affects my wife, do you think it might even affect my kids even though they’re in another state? Did you know that my kids could affect my grandkids?

Did you know that everything could be affected if I don’t think right? And whose fault is it? It’s God’s because he didn’t give me what I wanted. There’s a lot of things that I have wanted, not in get. But there’s a lot of things that I did get. I’ve lived long enough to see that it’s a good thing that probably God didn’t give me everything I wanted. I don’t know if I could handle it. Did you know that there’s pressures in life that comes from every angle?

I’ve had some people say yeah, we’re planning on getting married What do you think? You should have asked me before you decide to get married. Don’t decide to get married and ask me what I think Because then it don’t matter what I think you already made up your mind But if you want to get married you ask me what I think I may say well you’re old enough That doesn’t mean you’re wise enough relegation. It means you’re old enough.

A lot of people can get married. That’s the easy part. Living with them. That’s561 the hard part. Anybody get married. All you got to do is say, like the old Indian wedding, you know, they call they always had them short, you know. One of them, ugh, one of them, ugh, got them. I want you to take your Bible and look in Ephesians in chapter 5. Ephesians in chapter 5. Just turn to your left. There are a couple pages. The book of Ephesians in chapter 5.

Ephesians chapter 5, look in verse 17. When he makes this statement, wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. So if you don’t understand the will of God for your life, would you say you are wise or unwise? Then you would be wise if you did know. That’s why there’s such joy. That’s why there’s such peace when you do know the will of God and you can accept it. Can you accept whatever God brings into your life?

Good or bad? Supposedly. And just smile and say, Lord, I’ll just keep getting up. Let me tell you this. How long do you think David was on the run from a guy name Saul. For a long time he had already been anointed to be the king of Israel and it seemed like in David’s life nothing was working out. Everything was wrong and he had to run and hide and Saul was trying to kill him. People had turned against him.

But you see he had to wait and patient all those years. What about Joseph? Joseph said, this is not what I asked for. This is not what I bargained for. I’m the guy with the coat of many colors. My dad is Jacob. I’m somebody. Yeah. And you’ve got some brothers that don’t care for you and look how long. And then all of a sudden it seemed like God just started opening up doors. You know, I’ve seen more people who quit something right before victory.

Right before victory. The devil, remember it’s always the darkest right before dawn. If he can just get you to lose heart, that’s why we keep encouraging one another and praying for one another. You should want everybody to serve the Lord faithfully with all their heart. The last verse that I wanted to give you here was found in the book of Ephesians in chapter six. Look in verse five, in verse five, where it says, servants be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh.

With fear and trembling in singleness of your heart as unto Christ. Here were people that were servants. Some people believe they could have been slaves, maybe so. But there were slaves that knew the Lord. They didn’t have the freedom, but he says, wherever you are, you serve the Lord as though you’re serving Christ. You just look at that master that’s over you just pretend that that’s the Lord and God’s gonna judge me how I serve. And he’s keeping the book.

Then he says in verse 6, not with I service as men pleasers but as the servants of Christ doing the will of God. Do you believe God is concerned about how we handle what we handle and that God is able to see and know what we’re doing and why we’re doing it? knows whether or not our attitudes because we love and or we don’t or is your heart filled with bitterness and grudging and Anxiety and distress and oh Where does it end?

Where does it end? That’s why it’s so important Wednesday night. I want to do part two on this because it’s it’s it’s a good flow and it’ll it’ll help you So we’ll look at that down the road But anyway, if you have never trusted Christ’s your Savior. I can tell you what God’s will is for you If you don’t know where you’re going when you die, I know the will of God for you. Or if you’re watching by your internet.

And that is this, it is the will of God that you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior so that you can go to heaven when you die. God is not willing that any should perish but God wants everyone to trust the Lord. Look up here, this hand represents you and me, the wall represents sin, we all have sin on us. God says He loves us. So God loves us. He hates what we do wrong but He loves us. And to pay for the sin is eternal separation from God in hell, but God loves us once to go to heaven.

And to go to heaven you have to be perfect as righteous as God. And none of us are perfect. None of us are righteous. And that’s why we needed a Savior and we cannot save ourselves. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God and the flesh came into the world because He loves us. Hates our sin because it separates us from Him. So Christ took the sin, and the cross came back from the dead, and He said if we would believe that he did it for us.

He would put this payment to our account. Now the Lord sent his son into the world to pay for your sins and he came back from the dead and he says, if you will trust him, he will save you. He paid for your sins and if you will trust him, he will save you. That is the will of God for you. And if you will do that, God said he He would give you the free gift of everlasting life.

Let’s pray, shall we? We’ll head by a nice close and no one looking around. If you’re here tonight or watching by internet and you never trust the Lord, would you right now just in the quietness of this moment? Just Lord, I don’t understand at all, but I know that I’m a sinner because friend we all are. And I believe Christ died on that cross pay for my sin because friend he did. And if you will trust Him, depend upon Him to take you to heaven when you die.

He said He would save you from hell and give you eternal life as a gift. He said He’d never cast you out and never lose you. Would you believe Him? Christ cannot lie. He speaks the truth. He loves you so much. If you’re making that decision and you’ve never trusted Him, would you do it right now? And if you will, I’d like to have prayer for you. So I’m going to ask you if you’ll just let me know by an upraised hand.

Yes, that made sense to me. I’ll trust Christ as my Savior tonight and preach out of life for you to pray for me. And we’ll all be for we close. If you’ve never trust the Lord, trust Him right now. Our Father, we thank You so much for all that You’ve done for us. I pray, Lord, that You’ll help each person, whether here on the internet to do Your will. Whether for salvation, or whether that each one of us needs to recognize it, You do have something for us.

And that is special. and that you want us to be blessed. You want to reward us when we get to heaven. You want all these things for us. And I pray Lord that each one of us would seek your will and be willing to do whatever it is you have us to do. In Christ name we pray, amen.
