Anyway, I wrote this, I will state my position, but I will not debate my position. Just for the record, please do not send me books to read emails or phone calls in order to straighten me out. I’m in concrete. I wonder how long this post will last. Well, it’s still up there. I thought I’d put that in there because some people put post up there and they don’t like it. They take them down. If I have been wrong in my assessment, I do apologize.
I don’t believe I’ve ever posted before, but I have had enough of someone who claims to speak for Florida Bible College and is doing everything to destroy our foundational teachings, Ralph Yankee Arnold. I wanted to know who I am. So that was my response. Well, Dougie, I mean Facebook lit up. It didn’t take long before there was about 50 post from mine. And a few are good, but most of them were trying to straighten me out on what I just said and how wrong.
What I just said, how wrong that was. I’m serious. This is one of them. He says, God knew the heart or intentions of the thief on the cross. I think if the thief’s attitude was, he was going to continue to steal if it so happened to live, if he happened to live. And he was just sucking up to Jesus. Jesus wouldn’t have said what he did. As far as salvation been a process, Greg said it right. Come into salvation is a process.
Growing up I was just scared of hell. That was my beginning of the process. Later when I wanted Christ in my life then I knew I was saved. This is a graduate from Florida Bible College. Does it sound like he’s clear, he ain’t clear. And it’s totally wrong. And so God bless her. Jessica Heinz wrote and says, she said a lot, but this is one of them. So in your opinion, Greg, the person who says, I will believe that Jesus is the Lord and that he sacrificed himself on the cross for my sins, but I refuse to serve and obey him is not saved.
And they have not answer to her question yet. This other guy he wrote and says, you do play a part in salvation. The jailer was asked what he asked Paul. What must I do to be saved? Paul said, didn’t say nothing. He says you have to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and they make that mean something more than what it is. You see when it says the Lord Jesus Christ? That means you have believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord, which I believe, but they mean by that He is the Lord or the Master of my life.
So when you accept Christ the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, you’re accepting Him as your Lord. And if He’s your Lord, that makes you the servant. So you have to serve the Lord, and if you don’t serve, you’re not saved. This is what they’re teaching. On the Florida Bible college website and their discussion thing. Well, he goes on to say, listen to how Jesus explained it in Matthew 16. If a man will come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross and follow me.
Now, is that salvation? Is that service? That’s service. That’s salvation. He’s taken service verses and a planet to salvation and the other ones that are under they don’t take Him to task. Oh they did me but they won’t do Him because this is what they’re doing. Little by little they have gotten away from sound doctrine. And then they’re influenced because you’re never satisfied. You see, they don’t win souls. They can only grow by taking other people’s product. They rob from somebody else’s goldfish bowl.
Not because they’re reaching people with the gospel and winning them and training them. They’re stealing people from somebody else that somebody else has led to the Lord. It’s not where they can go. Anyway, he says this, If you save your life, you will lose it. If you lose your life for me, you will find it. For what does it profit a man if he gained the whole world loses own soul?” So he said, that you had to follow the Lord.
He said, I believe that those who don’t want Christ in their lives and are just interested in escaping hell are not. Because what I had wrote is I trusted Christ as my Savior, not because I wanted a personal relationship with God. I didn’t know anything about having a personal relationship with God. And I didn’t do it so I could have a walk with God. I trusted Christ as my Savior because I did not want to go to hell. I was looking for fire insurance and I trusted Christ as my Savior.
Yes, as time goes on and you learn some things about the Lord, yes, now I want a very close walk with the Lord. The Lord is more precious to me than the clothes I have on my back. I do and believe that Christ is the Lord, the Master of my life, but not to prove that I’m saved, not to be saved, not to stay saved, and not because I am saved, but because I made a choice. And if I don’t do it, I’m still just as saved.
So anyway, after going through a number of these responses I thought, I’m gonna write something else. So I wrote something else. This is what I wrote. We need to have unity. You can take two cats and tie their tails together and throw them over a clothesline. Now you got union, but you don’t have unity. And you can’t take two extreme views and put them together and let’s have unity. Somebody has to give and it ain’t this boy. But anyway, I said, there will be no unity among the brethren until there is unity in the gospel of grace.
Salvation at Florida Bible College was always distinguished between grace versus works and service was always distinguished between chasing and rewards. So you always kept salvation separate from service. And when you talk about salvation, the issue is always, is these, are you saved by grace or are you saved by works? After you’re saved, then when you come to service, it’s always, is it chasing or rewards? Am I gonna be obedient or disobedient? If I am obedient, I get blessings, rewards, But if I don’t, you’re going to beat the tarot of me, maybe take me home before my time.
So you always keep those separate. And then you understand scripture and you teach it that way. And you never use clear verses, salvation verses, and put them over here with the service. And you don’t take service verses and put them over here with the gospel that don’t belong. And all the verses that seems to say you have to live a certain way in order to be saved is just that. It seems to save. It means that somebody doesn’t understand what it means.
But you don’t take and try to take verses that seems to say something and forget about all those clear verses that make it very simple to understand what God meant. So I wrote this. A man may be saved and not serve and a man may serve and not be saved. Salvation by grace means to only be saved from the penalty of my sins. So we talk about the three tenses of salvation, the penalty, the power, the presence. So when I trust Christ as my Savior, I’m saved from the penalty of sin.
It means I don’t never have to go to hell, never have to worry about it. I don’t have any sins to pay for us. Why I can’t go to hell today, I can’t go tomorrow. Why? Because I don’t have any sins to pay for it. They’re all paid. But now in my life, the Holy Spirit dwells me and if I will walk with the Lord, He’ll give me the strength and grace that I need so that I don’t have to have the power of my Old Sinful nature control my life.
So as I read God’s Word and study God’s Word, I am being saved from the power of an Old Sinful nature that I have. But that does not affect my salvation. This was the done deal. It’s over and done with. I am saved. I’m going to heaven. Now if you don’t have this, you don’t even have to worry about this one. And one day we’re going to be saved from the very presence of sin. When the rapture takes place, or when I die.
But you see, these two can’t take place. These two tenses can’t take place unless you have the first one. If you have never trusted Christ as your Savior, you’ve never been delivered from the penalty of your sin. Forget this, it won’t matter. When you die, you go to hell. So you trust Christ as your Savior so that you escape hell. Christ came to save us from hell. Does that mean He doesn’t want to save me from the power of sin?
No. But see, I did not add the last two in because they don’t have anything to do with salvation and the penalty of sin. I got jumped on real royal for that. Yank, he doesn’t understand the tenses of salvation. I’ve got a few CDs and DVDs around here that’s got all that down. Salvation by grace means to only be saved from the penalty of my sins, which is a once in a lifetime decision that cannot be changed, altered, or undone by me or my Savior.
Once I accept that payment, God can’t change it. can’t change it, can’t be altered, can’t be annulled, nothing can happen, it’s done deal. When I was saved, I was saved. And I was just as saved at that moment as I am at this moment. And nothing that I’ve done in my whole life, whether it’s going to church and reading the Bible and praying and all the preaching and all the things that I’ve done, none of that has improved that one decision.
I am just as saved today as I was then. And if for the last 53 years, if I had lived like the devil, I’m still just as 100% saved as I was then. I’ll be just that much saved as I am right now. How I lived my life can never touch that payment Christ made on the cross for me. He died for me. That’s why I don’t have to dying go to hell. So I can’t go to hell today or ever.
And you got to separate that from how I ought to live. Should I serve the Lord? Yes, should, but should serve the Lord? And somebody said, you have to. That’s a different story altogether. So I wrote this. Remember these simple words. They are the most powerful in the Bible. Christ died for my sins. If I believe He paid for mine, then I don’t have any sins to pay for. I do not have any sins to pay for it. That could send me to hell that I did yesterday, today, or until the day I die.
So in reality, I can’t. Impossible. Go to hell today or anytime in the future because I don’t have any sins to pay for. This was determined the very moment I trusted the Lord 53 years ago, how I lived my life, good, bad, and different cannot abolish and all the promises of God’s free gift by grace. Can you understand what I’m saying? Can you follow this? I know this is difficult to understand. This is so hard to understand. All it means is, is you’re saved by grace.
And God gives you eternal life when you trust Him. Now, I also wrote this. God’s Word was sufficient that night to give me security and no evidence of any kind are necessary to improve on that security. I did not get saved to have a relationship with the Lord or to have a personal walk with the Lord. I do, but that’s not why I got saved. I didn’t know that the other existed. I didn’t know that I could walk with God and He’d be so real to me.
I did not know that. So look, listen to the next statement. Any evidence a saved man can produce to prove he is saved can also be produced by a lost man. If a saved man said, well I know I’m saved, how do you know? Well I go to church. Can a lost man go to church? Well I pray. Can a lost man pray? You give money. Well okay can a lost man give money? Well if it can be the proof that you need to say you are saved then why isn’t that the proof that everybody else it does.
They’re saved too then. There is no evidence for salvation. The new birth is a spiritual birth and you can’t see a spiritual birth. All I see is flesh and I told the kids it can’t. When you get up in the morning and you look in that mirror. And you’re ugly. And then later on, you get saved. Go back and look in that mirror. You’re still ugly. God did not change that old physical body of yours. He didn’t save it, didn’t do anything with it.
But He gave you a new birth, a spiritual birth. The spiritual birth, the new birth is born of God and it cannot sin because it doesn’t have a sinful nature. I’ve got two of them. Oh, I like this stuff. Hmm. The next thing I wanted to mention. Any evidence a saved man can produce to prove he is saved can also be produced by a lost man. Therefore, it is no evidence at all. This is when a person looks at works produced to prove one is really saved.
So then your focus is upon your works and not upon what Christ said. How do I know I’m really saying, well, there was a change in my life. Okay, what if there wasn’t a change? What if you change back? Then you have a reason to doubt your life. And if you can list 10 reasons to how do you know I’m really am saved. Then you’ve got 10 reasons on why do you ought to doubt your own salvation. You see they say and they believe that you have to persevere in the faith.
Persevere, that means if you’re really saved you’re gonna live like it. They’re gonna be a change in your life. But if it’s not that’s a sign you weren’t really saved. So that means you’ve got a persevere. So you begin to look at your life as a fruit inspector to see whether or not in my, I’m one of the chosen. I’m one of the elect. I’m persevering in the faith. That means that you have become your own judge about whether or not you’re really saved because you’re looking at your life.
What’s wrong with just saying, I know I’m saved. How do you know you’re saved? Because God says in the Word, if I believe on Him, I have eternal life. And I know I’m saved because what God says, it’s not what I feel. It’s not because of what I’m doing. I do not look at anything in my life as the proof of the evidence that I’m saved. I go back to that day in that little living room. That moment I trusted Christ as my Savior and I was saved then and I hadn’t lived one moment of my life.
But I was saved. Why? Because I trusted the Lord. I didn’t look at my life at that very moment and say, now, in Yankah, you’re living right? Why should I at any time in my life? That’s not the proof. The proof is I got God right where I want Him. I got Him bound by His word and He cannot lie and therefore I know that I’m saved. Now, I also wrote this, don’t you men believe it’s about time to finally admit that our different views are not compatible.
They cannot in any way be harmonized. All of our posting will not change anyone’s mind because they’re already made up. Florida Bible College was not Calvinistic in doctrine on any points of the tulip. When any alumnus presents any position that is not in harmony with your tulip position, they’re automatically judged to be inferior in biblical knowledge. For the record I know as much about Calvinism as any Calvinist, but I totally rejected. And I got hammered again. So I wrote one more time and I said, this is my last post.
And they came on and they says, don’t stop now. He said, you’re the only one that’s making it clear in a doctor position that was held by Florida Bible College. So it may not be the last one, but it might be. So this is what I wrote and this is part of some notes that I had used in a meeting. These other letters I set in and I typed them out. Remember, I can only type one finger at a time, so it takes me a while.
But some things just rubbed me the wrong way, but this is what I had. I like to give to you my position on the five theological positions of Calvinism. This intellectual position is not of God but of man. The following simple acrostic tulip is a classic reform five point Calvinist. The T stands for totally private man and so they believe that man is so depraved he can’t even believe. He can’t do anything. So if you’re saved by grace through faith, well then if it’s through faith, God had to give you to faith to do it because you know a A dead man can’t do anything.
That does not mean just because you’re totally depraved, means that you totally are in able or incapable of trusting. We demonstrate trust every day of our life. You put the key in the ignition and you turn it because you expect the car to start that’s faith. And you get out of bed and you go to their bathroom because you still think it’s worse was the last time. You’d be surprised everything you’d do is because of faith. You turn that light switch on why?
Because you believe the light will come on. See everybody has the ability to trust. The use stands for unconditional election where God just unknown reason. He just handpicked a few people and he elected to save them. And therefore it was unconditional. In other words, it’s not conditioned upon you doing anything. God just chose to save whoever He wanted to save. The Bible says that God so loved the world and paid a payment for all the sins of the world and that God will save anybody who believes.
That’s what I believe. That’s what the Bible says. That’s not what a Calvinist believes. So we do not believe the same. Our gospel is not their gospel. There’s not ours. There’s another gospel. And if it’s because it’s another gospel, it’s a false gospel because there’s not two of them. The Elstomens for limited atonement. It means that the pavement Christ made was limited to only those that God chose to save and give the faith to believe. God has to save them before they believe.
He has to give them the faith. The next point is the eye stands for irresistible grace. It means that it is so irresistible. When God calls you, you can’t resist. And yet the Bible says about this irresistible grace. He says, concerning the Holy Spirit, you always do resist the Holy Spirit. They say, well, you can’t resist. And the Scripture says that they always resisted the Holy Spirit. They did resist. And Jesus made this statement. He says, you will not come unto me that you might have life.
He didn’t say you couldn’t come. He says you wouldn’t come. And whenever he wept over the city of Jerusalem and he made this statement, he says, how often I would have gathered you together as a hen gathers her chicks, but you would not. You would not. Not that you could not. You would not. So God is willing to save who so ever believe it. Some people will not believe. So I wrote this, I believe it is a sin to teach that a man is so totally depraved that he does not have the ability to choose, act or believe on what God says.
To believe that God must first give faith to a man of his choosing before he can believe on Christ is to state unequivocally that God is a respecter of persons, which the Bible says he is not a respecter of persons. It loves us all the same. When you read Ephesians 2, 8, and 9, when it says, for by grace. What’s by grace? Salvation. What is through faith, salvation? What is not of work? Salvation. What is not of yourself? Salvation.
What is the gift of God? Salvation. Faith is not the gift. Every man has the ability to trust. And faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. It didn’t come because God overpowered you and gave you irresistible grace. I often say this when every man, Betty, first met and I poured on my charm. It was irresistible charm. She just couldn’t resist. Well, I couldn’t resist either. So let me read the last part here because I know we got to close.
I have no problem with stating or believing that Jesus Christ is both Savior and Lord. When the Lord Jesus Christ promised to save me, if I trusted Him to do so, I did. He did not tell me I had to promise to make Him the Lord or master of my life that I have yet to live in order for him to save me.” I said, let’s pretend. You say you truly believe that your salvation is only by grace and that if you’re really saved you will follow Christ.
Commit your life to Him and serve Him. I said, after 10 years of strict obedience, you for whatever reasons totally rebelled against the Lord and never correct your walk. Are you still saved or never really saved or is it impossible to happen? I thought it was a good question. I’m thrilled to death that I don’t have to be concerned about it. I don’t look at my works to prove I’m saved by grace. When you are accepting Christ as your Lord or Master of your life, it becomes a commitment of yours to serve.
That’s why we say that whenever you think you have to accept Christ is the Lord of your life. That is the commitment you’re making to the Lord on how you’re going to live. Under his rule, that’s works for salvation. Anyway, you cut it. This is you seeking to earn your salvation because if you do not serve, you will not be saved. This is works for salvation. It is a different gospel and irreconcilable with the gospel of true grace. This is my last word on this thread.
Have a good day, Yankee. You know, I’ve got enough things to do. I don’t need to do this, but somebody has to say it. And, Buddy, we said they ought not be on this discussion group as a representative of FBC. So, several others also made comments and Bob Gilbert made a good comment. And so, and Tommy Davis made a good comment. And so, they changed it and they started a Florida Bible College discussion group, not alumni association, Florida Bible College discussion group.
And then they said, you have to stay within the boundaries of the Florida Bible College state of faith before they could say anything. So it paid off. Look up here. This is you and me. This is sin. We all have sin on us. God says He loves us, hates our sin. For us to pay for sin, which is eternal separation from the Lord, God says, we’re all guilty, we’re all condemned. But to go to heaven, we have to be perfect as righteous as God and none of us are perfect.
We have all sinned, and so because of sin we can’t get in. God says, you can’t save yourself. Now this hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. He came into the world and says that He so loved the whole world. And He took all the sin of all the world and paid for all of it. Came back from the dead and says, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature, every person.
Why waste the time doing all that? Why don’t you just tell us who you’re going to save? Or maybe the gospel really is for everybody. And if everybody hears it, everybody can be saved. All they got to do is understand that when Christ died, will you believe He did it for you? I believe He did it for me. That payment put to my account. I don’t have any sins to pay for. They’re all paid. I don’t have any sins from now.
At the time that I died, there is not one sin. I I can’t go to hell. I have eternal life. I’m going to heaven when I die. Well, that’s good news. God says, when you believe that, He gives you eternal life and they’ll never cast you out, never lose you. Let’s pray, shall we? With heads bowed nice, closed, no one looking around. Whether you’re here in the auditorium or watching my internet, I hope you understand what I’m saying tonight.
I want everyone to know God so loved the world. That’s you. He died on that cross and paid for all the sins the world, friend, that would include yours. And when he says that he loves you, he loves you. There’s not one person in this world that God loves more than he loves you. And he died for you. And all he wanted you to do was to believe he did it for you. And if you believe that he did it for you and trust that payment that he made for you, see, he was the payment.
He gives you as a free gift everlasting life. I pray that you’ll trust Christ as your Savior. Although we thank you so much for this time together. Bless each one for being here. We thank you for those that are working in a wana. Bless those kids and we pray Lord, that each one of those kids have come to know Christ as their Savior. Christ and we pray, Amen.
