you trust Christ’s Savior, He can’t lose you. And once you serve the Lord and earn rewards in heaven, you can’t lose those. But you can lose what you could have had. Here you are, you trust that Christ is your Savior, and God may give you some time to live. All right? With this time that God’s giving you to live, how are you doing? So we also have in our doctrine statement this statement, God does not cast out disobedient children.

Why? If If he did, he wouldn’t have any kids at all. If God saved you today and then he’d take it away from you, if you use something bad, nobody’d get there. Because everybody still does things wrong. I fear to do this. How many here can say I’ve never done anything wrong in my whole life? There’ll be somebody and then I have to say you’re lying. So I won’t even do that anymore. I used to tell them, I mean, I hear never stolen anything in your life.

life. I’m afraid somebody’s going to raise their hand and I’m just totally think. You know they’re lying so how you don’t do your wallet because they’re gonna steal a letter to get a chance. But notice this, he does not permit his children to live as they please without discipline and guidance. So God does not allow his children to do whatever they want to do, live any way they please without discipline, without correction. So you know that your heavenly Father who loves you and giving you the choice to obey or disobey doesn’t take away your salvation if you make the wrong choice.

But there might be consequences that you’ll have to pay for and you’re not going to like those results. So 1 John 1, 9 is not a verse for salvation but a precious promise to Christians for cleansing and forgiveness. 1 John 1 9 does not guarantee restoration of fellowship or restitution from physical damage caused by sin. Okay, here I am. And I decide to become a drunk. I just keep on drinking and next thing you know I’m a drunk. And I realize the error of my ways confess my sin to God and God forgives me.

But that doesn’t mean that he heals cirrhosis of the liver. It doesn’t mean the damage that’s been done to my body is automatically healed. It doesn’t restore my body to good health just because I confess to him. Oh, this satisfies. Oh, this satisfies. I just can’t get enough of why I don’t satisfy. And you smoke that camel. Can you imagine kissing a girl and she smells like a camel? Why? You know, but you can do whatever you want. I’d rather you smoke now than smoke later.

But anyway, here you are and you’re now you’ve got, you know, lung disease. You get infasema. You’ve got all this hardening of the arteries now and all the things that comes together. And then you realize, you know, as a Christian, I shouldn’t do this. Lord, forgive me. God can forgive you. But it doesn’t give you a new set of lungs. The damage is still done. It does not restore that. Like the farmer who goes out here and he’s got ten acres of ground.

Lord, it looks like it might rain today, so I’ll just wait. Lord, it looks like his sunshine is going to be too hot. I’ll just wait. So by the end of three months and he doesn’t have anything done. And he goes to the Lord and says, Lord, I sinned against you. I I really messed up. I didn’t plan anything. Would you forgive me? God says, sure, I forgive you. All of a sudden there’s a fruit all over the yard.

I mean the fields are already just something. No. Just because you confess the sin didn’t put fruit on the ground. There’s still a price to pay for your negligence, the consequences of your bad decisions. Grandma, I killed your pet goose. I forgive you. I forgave you when you did it. Didn’t make the goose come back alive. It was not restored. a wasted life is not restored because you confessed your sins. Now everything is wonderful. Now you still got bills and you did all kinds of things and ruined your life, made bad decision.

Now God is going to help you deal with those things, but understand there’s a price to pay for rebellion to what God’s Word says. Let me read this to you. It is heresy to teach that confession of sin produces spiritual fruit. It doesn’t give it to you. You see, I messed up. Okay, God forgive me. God forgives me. Now I’m in a place that I can have fellowship with God. And now I did that so that I could walk with God.

But that doesn’t give me fruit that I should have had if I’d have planted, but I done right. No, it cleans the plate so I can now walk with the Lord. But it doesn’t make you spiritual. Now I’m spiritual. No, you can be spiritually minded. It means you mind the Spirit. It means it’s a walk with the Lord. And that’s why he’s talking about here in 1 John. Look there again with me in verse 5. This then is the message which we have heard of him and declaring to you that God is light.

And And Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we lie and do not the truth. In other words, here you are. You say, I’m just, everything’s right between me and the Lord. Well, are you serving God? Do you doin’ what God wants you to do? Well, no. Well then, your walk isn’t right. Your fellowship isn’t right. Your fellowship with God is not right unless your walk with God is right.

And if you’re not walking in the light, Because He is in the light, you’re lying to yourself. You’re deceiving yourself. If you’re not faithful to the church and give like you should and witness like you should, something’s wrong with your walk. And after a while, you’ll become paralyzed and you won’t be able to move. You won’t even sense anything is wrong. You’ll scar yourself, become insensitive. flexibility. And there’s a lot of Christians that are paralyzed where they can’t do what God wants them to do because they just accepted something for so long that now it doesn’t bother them anymore.

Now, these opening verses here is so that you and I as a child of God would realize what God wants us to know and what He wants us to do. Now, I want you to take and look there at verse eight where he says, if we say we have no sin or means no sinful nature, we deceive ourselves even though you are saved and you have eternal life, your God’s child, because you believe he died and paid for your sins and you’re accepting that as your payment for your sin.

Does that mean now that I’m good and good at your two shoes and I don’t do anything wrong anymore. Now my sinful desires are all gone and I don’t have any sinful desires at all. You’re dreaming. You still have an old sinful nature because God didn’t do anything with your sinful nature. He simply gave you a new birth. Now God says this old sinful nature, if you don’t think you have one, you’re deceiving yourself. You as a child of God are still capable of all the meanness and the ugliness and the hatred that goes with any lost person.

Because see this one here God did not save. He only saved the soul and watched the soul whitest know. The sinful nature is in the body and then the flesh. So when you trusted Christ as your Savior, He gave you a new birth. Now God wants you to have fellowship with Him and walk in the light walk according to truth. Now get what else he says here. So in verse nine he says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and to cleanse us from all and righteousness.

This is for the blessings of life here, is so that when we get to heaven we’ll have something there. This is not about how to stay out of hell. Christ took my hell. I never have to worry about it. He paid for all of my sins on the crop. I’m talking here about what I do between me and my father. You see if you was to… Sin against me. I’m the preacher. Well, then I need to forgive you if that’s the case and you can forgive me and I can forgive you.

That’s when we send against each other. Or you see, now it’s different if Peter over here, he had nothing to do with it. Or these people, they have nothing to do with it. But once you become a child of God, now you’re talking about God as your Father. There’s a different relationship here. So I may do something against my wife that I didn’t do against my daughter. So you have to, well that was forgiven. I know but this is a different situation, a different person.

I’m talking about my father now. And he wants me to have fellowship with him. That’s like two fellows in his ship going in the same direction. You’re getting along. And so you say, I walk with God, how can two walk together, unless they be agreed? So this is talking about me and my heavenly father. So he makes a statement. In verse 10, if we say we have no sinful nature or have not sinned, we make him a liar as word is not as.

So then he tells us there in first John in chapter two, verse one, my little children, these things right, I unto you that you sin not. If any man sin, we have an advocate or a lawyer with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous. In other words, God doesn’t want us to live in sin, but if you do commit to sin, confess it. Own up to it. Say, Lord, I’m your child. You’re my Father. I’ve wronged you. But when you don’t do that and you try to carry it how long before it starts taking and building that pressure upon you.

You see, there’s some things that you become very sensitive right away and you get those things taken care of. When the Bible talks about don’t let the sun go down upon your wrath. It’s not good to let any unconfessed sins go very long. Talk to the Lord about it immediately and always. Now, look over there in 1 John and chapter 5, 1 John chapter 5. Sometimes I like to look at the beginning of a book the ending of a book and then I can understand, okay, now this is what it’s talking about in between.

If you ever bought a book and look at the end of it, see how it comes out before you ningle back and see if you can enjoy it. I mean that’s you shouldn’t do that maybe but the story is sometime the excitement you don’t have to end it. Have you ever been watching a movie and somebody tell you what’s gonna happen next? Because they saw it. First John chapter 5, looked there in verse 13. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.

So the Bible says you can know you have eternal life. Well yes. So this is written to those who believe that you that believe can know you have eternal life. If you don’t believe it then you can’t know you have eternal life. If it depends upon your work then you’ll have to wait till you die to find out if you’re good enough. I don’t worry about where I’m going when I die. Why? Because I know I’m going to heaven.

Why? God promised. I got God’s word on it. If I can’t trust God, I can’t trust anybody. He’s one made heaven and he made hell and he says how to get there. So he says, if I believe it, I have eternal life. I got it. But I’m not in heaven yet. I’m still going to live my life. But what about those who, well, they don’t confess it. You know, they did the wrong, but they don’t make it right. Well God says here in verse 14 and this is the confidence that we have in him that if we ask anything according to his will he heareth us and if we know that he hear us whatsoever we ask and we know that we have the petitions that we desire to him.

So now you’re going to have it after you’ve gone through this book about how we’re supposed to love one another, love our brother And if you hate your brother, it’s not wise and so forth. They’ve just into a lot of good stuff. But the summary of the whole thing is when you see a child of God, a brother in the Lord, doing things that will hurt his testimony or cause him to be not walking in fellowship with the Lord, then you should be concerned about people.

I am as concerned about God’s children walking with the Lord as I am a lost man going to hell. I don’t like either one of those. I want all of those that could trust Christ’s Savior in heavy and turn life to go to heaven. And I want all of God’s children. To walk with the Lord, to have fellowship with Him, but not all do it. They decide to do whatever they want to do, live their own life. It’s my life and I can do whatever I please and it doesn’t matter.

How long do you want to go and rebellion? The longer you go and rebellion sooner or later, like I said, it’ll paralyze you. I can’t do this. I can’t do that because after all, you don’t want to anymore. And right now see there’s a time when you’re very tender and you’re pliable, you’re flexible, teachable. After a while whenever you don’t respond the way God wants you to, you become hard and cold and bitter and brittle. That’s when God has to break you and He will do that.

But now notice what He says here. He says in verse 16, if any man see his brother, now we’re talking about a person, seeing another child of God, sin is sin, which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them, that sin not unto death. So there is a sin unto death. It means that God could take you home ahead of time because of a sin. And you didn’t talk to the Lord about it, and you can go on and do whatever you want.

Now in the book of 1 Corinthians and chapter 11, it talks there about those who would not examine their own lives. And because they didn’t examine their lives, they went ahead and still took of the Lord’s Supper. By doing so, they did not discern the Lord’s body. You see, the Lord’s Supper is for us to set around the table and have fellowship with our Father. So this is talking about if there’s something in your life that’s not right with the Lord, you should take care of it because if you don’t.

That means you’re given the appearance that everything is right between you and God and if it isn’t. The Bible says some were sick, some were weak, and some were dead. So can God take a person home because they didn’t deal with the sin in their life? Yes, I’m afraid so. Because you can’t live as you please and get away with it. There’s consequences and you don’t like those consequences. It It just leads to a miserable life. And you’re always either at each other, the families, the kids and the kids that the family and the mom and dad hate each other and are arguing and a fight and all that kind of thing.

Is that what you want? That’s not serving God. Somebody’s out of kilter here. It’s not the way it should be. So God says, I want you to do right. And He says, some will see others that are not doing right. doesn’t mean that you’re supposed to, you know, the guy with the two before in his eye. He sees all those splinters and everybody else’s eye. God says, first of all, you get that two before out of your eye so that you can see clearly to help the person with that little bitty splinter in their eye.

As he says in the book of Galatians in chapter 6 and verse 1, ye which are spiritual, spiritually minded walking in the spirit, obey in God, seek to help and to restore the one that’s not strong in the Lord. So there are those who are spiritually strong, they obey God, they do right, and there’s others that don’t. It doesn’t mean that they’re not saved, it means they’re disobedient. And so the Bible says that God wants us, if we see a brother that sends a sin, not on the dead.

He, in other words, there’s two things. He’s not dead yet. If he’s not dead, you can pray for them. If they’re dead, no sense praying for them. He says, because if they’re dead, you don’t, I don’t say you should pray for that or ask for that. In other words, don’t always just say, Lord, I saw him messing up. Lord, take him home. Well, it made me better if you just prayed, I had your forns around an individual because you want them to get back to the Lord as quickly as possible.

But you say you’re not getting along with your wife. Lord, you know I love my wife. She’s not doing right. Lord, would you just zap her? But make it look like an accident, Lord. Don’t let me be within five miles of this. But you know I love her. But I think she’s going to mess up real bad. And I don’t want her to mess up real bad. So if you can take her now, I’d appreciate it. Now, he says, I’m not saying you should pray for that.

You should be praying that Lord, help me to win that person so that they’ll walk with you. So there’s some of God’s children that not walking in the light. Well, those that are are supposed to try to help those that aren’t and to pray for one another. So he says, in the last part of verse 16, he says, there is a sin unto death. I do not say that he should pray for it. See, there are things and you have to have some discernment about whether or not, how much do I pray for a person?

I’ve been to the hospital and I was talking to this one man in the hospital. He’s laying there in the bed. I said, we’re going to do for you. He says, pray for me. I said, what’s worth? He said, I get well. I said, why? He says, I don’t like being here in the hospital. And he looked at me and said, I don’t like your attitude. I said, as far as I know, we’ve been here before. And you promised God the last time that if you ever got out of that hospital, you’re going to serve the Lord.

I said, since then you haven’t done so. You’ve been as wicked as you were before. So am I supposed to ask God to heal your body so you can get up and live another part of your wicked life? I said, I’m not interested. I want you to learn the lesson God has for you. And that’s what I’m gonna pray for, that you will learn whatever the lesson is you haven’t learned yet. And I didn’t pray for him, I walked out of the room.

But I had prayers I walked off and I told him, But listen, I’m not a tool to be used or misused. I’m not for you just having a nice, clean, little, beautiful, wonderful life while you spit in your father’s face. I want God’s children to realize there’s a price to pay for rebellion. And God may have to take you home before your time. And so he says, pray for that. Pray for people to wake up and put the Lord first.

How much easier your life would be if you walked in fellowship with the Lord I’m really That’s where see peace enjoy and happiness comes because of walking with the Lord Not doing all the bad confesses my sin now. I’m spiritual. No, you’re not You just clean the plate so nothing on it No start serving God start walking with God start walking in obedience do something with your life And all of a sudden you’ll find out, and I told a man this not long ago, I said, you put everything you have in God’s hand, it won’t be long before you see God’s hand and everything that you do.

He said, I remember you said that years ago in the email man says, I believe that. He said, I started to see it. So anyway, let me show you this. This is so important. On how to get to heaven, there is a difference between as a lost man and it’s a saved man. as a lost man you need to understand this. This is you and me and this is all the things we do wrong. This is our sin. God loves us, hates our sin.

He wants us to go to heaven but because of sin we can’t get in. You can’t go to heaven. You have to be perfect to go there. All your sins have to be taken away and you’ll be as good as God good to go and you’re not. And your religion won’t help you when I So God says that to pay for this eternal separation from God in hell. But to go to heaven, you have to be perfect. None of us are.

So God says you cannot earn your way to heaven. Going to church, giving money, all the good deeds will not pay for any sins. The sin represents Jesus Christ. People have heard about this forever. Just don’t get it. Christ came into the world. Never did anything wrong. wrong. So he didn’t have to die. He didn’t have any sins to pay for it. So because he loved us and didn’t have to die, he took all of our sins on himself, paid for it on the cross, paid our penalty, which is death in hell, paid for it came back from the dead.

And for me to go to heaven or you to go to heaven, all he asked is something so simple. Were you believe that he did it for you. Well you believe he did that for you. And God said that everyone who believed that he did it for them, that he paid for your sins, he would put this payment to your account. All your sins are paid. There’s no sins for me to pay for that would separate me from God forever.

Not even one. Why? Because he paid for all of them. I’m going to heaven because of what Christ did for me. And if you’ll believe that God will save you and give you the free gift of everlasting life. If you know Christ as your Savior and you’re already going to heaven because you’ve already believed this. Now as a child of God when we do things, we’re doing things against our Heavenly Father. So not to pay for my sins and hell, it’s just I want to get along with my Lord.

And I don’t want sin in my life to come between me and my Father. You see, He sees everything. You see, everything that you’ve ever done wrong, He’s just like that grandma. I was standing at the window and I saw it all. Everything you’ve ever done, since you trust the Lord, the Lord has seen everything. He just wants to know how long you want to carry it. How long you want that to be thrown up into your face. And the devil uses all those things against you.

You know, you really messed up. Boy, you fell in the mud. Man, God can’t use you now. And you lay there in the mud for the rest of your life. And he says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to cleanse us. Tell him that it’s a child of God. So there’s nothing between you and your heavenly Father. so that you can walk and fellowship with Him. Now, isn’t that really what you want? You can be as close to your heavenly Father as you want to be.

Or you can let things come between you. But knowing this, that He’ll never cast you out and He’ll never lose you. Yes, you grieve the Lord because of your rebellion and disobedience. So once you’ve trusted Christ as your Savior, you’re His child. You’re going to heaven when you die. But God has so much more. He wants to bless your life. But see, he can’t bless disobedience. He blesses obedience. Let’s pray, shall he? There he hid bow and every eye closed, no one looking around.

If you’re here this morning and maybe you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, if you’re not sure of going to heaven, would you write down the kindness of this moment? Just talk to the Lord. See, God knows who you are. He knows everything that you’ve ever done. And He loves you. And he sent his son to pay for what you did wrong. Will you believe he did it for you? Will you trust him as your savior, to save you from hell and give you turn light and take you to heaven when you die?

So that you’re going to heaven depends upon him. And he’ll never cast you out. It’s the best news in the world, no tricks to it. You don’t have to join this church. You don’t have to give any money. You don’t have to raise your hand or sign a card or do anything. It’s right where you are. And if you are making that decision, yes, me, I want to know. And I like to have prayer for you. And so I’m asking right now with heads about nice clothes.

Is there anyone at all? You say, yes, preacher, that made sense to me. I want to trust Christ as my Savior. Know that I’m going to heaven when I die. And friend, if you’ve never done it before, but you’ll do it right now, would you let me know by just slipping it up very quickly, but right back down, Jane, right on. Yeah, right on. Just slip it up real quick, but right back down. See, that made sense to me.

I will trust Christ as my Savior. If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, your God’s child. Is there things in your life that you need to be talking to the Lord about? Things you need to correct. Or have you just said, well, it’s not that big of a deal. But sooner or later it starts wearing on you. It gets heavier and heavier. Because you see, you got a load of guilt that you’re carrying. You see, that’s what causes people to have, I think, a lot of their depression and their mental breakdown is because of sin they and get taken care of.

Our Father, we thank you so much for this time together. We ask your blessings of ungroomed service now in Christ’s name. Amen.
