We pray that you will enjoy our commitment to the clear gospel of Jesus Christ and that today’s concluding message of this teaching will be a blessing to you and your family.

The next point, I redeemed man from the curse of the law and And why? Because nobody else could do this. Look what I’ve done. I redeemed man. Now pay for the sins of all men so that they could have the free gift of everlasting life. This is what I’ve done. So if somebody like that could do all of those things, do you think he’s qualified to guide your life? And yet there’s people, believe it or not, that don’t think God is qualified to tell them what to do.

They feel like this is my life. I know what I want. I know what I want to be and I know what I want to do and God you can go fly tight. It’s my life. And they make their decisions and how dumb they are. And there is a way that Seemeth right unto a man but they end their up are the ways of death and destruction. It’s always away from God. All we like sheep have gone astray. You may think you know good and know best, but you don’t.

Jeremiah says it is not within man that walk up to direct the steps. No man is smart enough to guide himself. And when he thinks he is, he’s filled with pride and pride, says, coming before destruction, before a form. Look at the next statement. The blessings of the Abrahamic covenant comes upon your life through me. The blessing of Abraham is being justified by faith. Because he says in the scripture, foreseen that God would justify the heat and through faith preached before the gospel and the Abrahams saying, In these shall all families of the earth be blessed.

So a man, a heathen, a lost man can only be justified made righteous by his faith and what Christ did on the cross for me. So any man who wants to get to heaven has to go through Christ. Now, he made the way and did all of that. Do you think a little person in this world has more brains than God? And he can guide himself and he, I don’t need God to tell me what to do. That’s why they don’t study the Bible.

The Bible is God’s Word to God’s people. And then most people study and read and become educated in everything but this book. This is the most important part of anybody’s life to know the Word of God so they can know the will of God. Look at the next point. His occupational background. I wonder what he’s ever done. Have you ever held a job before? Have you had a job before? I’ve had people and I said, now, what can you do?

What are your job description? What can you accomplish? If you’ve gone to college, you’ve got any degrees, you’ve got any talent abilities, where have you worked before? Have you ever tried to fill out a resume and do they ever want something about you? Where did you work before? Why did you leave your last job? Why do you want to know that? Because they don’t know you and they want to find out as much as they can about you. And so you give them this information.

But look what the Lord says. I’ve only had one employer. And he said unto them, how is it that he sought me? Wish he not that I must be about my father’s business, and that was when he was 12 years old. If he was at his father’s business when he was 12, he probably was when he was 13 and 14 and 15 and 16 right on down the line. He was always about his father’s business. He’s only done one thing and as to whatever pleases my heavenly father, that’s what he did.

And then, what does his employer have to say about his work? Well, look at the next statement. My employer had nothing but rave reviews about me. I’ve never been party or absent, disobedient, slothful, or disrespectful. Now that’s a pretty good testimony that I have, isn’t it? And the reason he could say that is because the voice come down from heaven. This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.

There was a guy who always was kind of concerned about his job position. So he called up and tried to disguise his voice. You know, you put some over the phone so it doesn’t sound exactly the thing. Is it the only that I’ll start, boy? No, we already have one. Well, is he any good? He’s very good, very good. I mean, we’re very satisfied with him. Okay, thank you. Well, see, that was his job. That’s where he worked. He was just checking to make sure that they liked what he was doing it.

Have you ever done that? Maybe you ought to try that sometime. But he says here, a voice from heaven. Now, look at the next point. His work experience. What kind of experience does he have? Because somebody wants to work for you, you ought to check them out a little bit. Look what he said. Some of my skills and work experiences include empowering the poor, healing the brokenhearted, sitting the captives free, healing the sick, restoring sight to the blind, sitting at liberty, them that are bruised.

See, that’s what the scripture says. This is Jesus Christ. This is what he can do. Wouldn’t you like to have somebody like that to follow you around all the days of your life? I told you about the time when I used to be a caddy, and I used to get picked on, and I was gang up on me and take my pants off of me, so they’d be in a creek or take my shoes off and throw them, take my money.

And sometimes they get a hold of me and they’d hold my arms, and then the other guy would just work me over. Now I went through that stuff. But one time I happened to have my buddy, and the name was Butch Langley. Much slangly never did a lick of work. But he was the same age that he was built. It’s kind of like walking around with your buddy. Like James Hayslip, you know, just walk around with James Hayslip. Everywhere you go, James Hayslip’s right there with it.

Hey, I tell somebody, I say, you wanna fight me buddy? Yeah, this is me buddy. It kind of gives you a little swinging your step, you know. A little cockiness about you. Because you got more confidence, you’re not afraid. I got my buddy with me. And I thought, man, I wish I could get Butch to go with me all the time. This one time they got me across the creek and they had my arms. And this one guy named Melvin, he was a big guy.

He came down across my face as hard as he could. And I talked about it. You see, it didn’t hurt. Mm-hmm. And my friend Butch was, it already across the creek and he was down a little bit further. He turned around and came back. And he walked over to him. And there were four of them. He walked up and said, let him alone. Don’t do it again. And I’ll fork him back off from that one guy. I thought, where were you just a minute ago?

It’s been a have a friend, but I want somebody that sticks closer. I better, brother. But what’d it be nice is you go through life and you’ve got the strongest person in the world with you. The most wisest of all individuals. You’ve got them right there with you. And if you needed some counseling, you’ve got the greatest counselor of all time right there with you. The greatest. What would you need that be better than that? And then there’s some people, God’s people, that walk away from somebody like that and say, I’ll do it myself.

I can handle it. I don’t need God. I don’t need the Bible. I don’t need Christianity. Yeah, they may have trusted Christ in the Savior, but they live like a lost man. they trust in their what God called uncertain riches. You can have it today and it can be gone tomorrow. But look at the back page now. I am a wonderful counselor Isaiah 9 6 says, for unto us a child is born unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder and his name shall be called wonderful counsel the mighty God the everlasting father of the Prince of All these things is a description of…

Who he is. And this is what he is, the everlasting father, the Prince of Peace, the great counselor. And he’s the one that wants to live with you every day and he wants to abide with you and walk with you and teach you and guide you. Can you see that if you walk away from something like this, you must truly be a fool? a fool. If a fool has said his heart there is no God, then a Christian will be a fool and says, I don’t need the Lord.

And yet there’s Christians that do it. They’re saved, they have eternal life, and they’re going to heaven when they die, because they accepted the free gift of eternal life. But see, after you trust the Lord, it’s so important to walk with the Lord. I need the Lord every day. You know what helps me and I’ll be honest with you. I have things that hits me every day. Problems every day of all kinds. I don’t know how I would be able to handle it if it wasn’t for the Lord.

Cause I just sit sometime in my chair and I smile. Boy, this is good cause this is bigger than I can handle. Lord, you can handle this one. Lord, you can handle this one. Lord, I think I can handle this one. You can handle the between me and God. We can handle anything that comes up. Some things he can handle and some things I can handle. Look at Elph. People who listen to me shall dwell safely and shall not fear evil.

The scripture reference, they’re in Proverbs 133, but who so hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely and shall be quiet from fear of evil. You see, when you know the Lord and you trust the Lord, then it gives you a certain amount of peace. that peace is what can help you sleep at night, the joy of the Lord, can help you during the day whenever it seemed like everything’s fallen apart. Because you know, he’s in charge. He is. But you try to handle all the things yourself.

You’re limited. You don’t know everything. You don’t have all power. You can’t change some things, but you know he can. And if he chooses to change things, praise the Lord. If he chooses not to, praise the Lord. And you just rest and trust in Him. It’s a great way to live. But most people never get that far with the Lord. Look at the next thing. You ever had somebody ask you, well, what’s your education? Where’d you been to school?

Don’t tell nobody, but I never finished high school. I got a GED, took a test. Now I are smart. I always wanted to be an administrator, now I are one. I encompass the entire breath and length of knowledge, wisdom and understanding.” And he says there in Proverbs 2.6, For the Lord giveth wisdom out of his mouth, comeeth knowledge and understandeth. And if he’s the one you’re walking with, look what’s coming from him. The Lord giveth wisdom out of his mouth, comeeth knowledge understandeth.

Picture the word of God. This is the word of God coming from the mouth of God. out of his mouth, comeeth wisdom and understanding. So that’s why if you want it, here’s the Word of God, read it and study it. And you’d be surprised what this book will do for your life. That’s why I want people to know it as much as possible. He makes a statement in Colossians in chapter 2 and verse 3 that in me he says, I’ll hit all the wisdom, all the treasures, the knowledge of God.

He says, in whom or hit all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge in whom it’s in a person. It’s in the Lord. The next statement, he says, my word is so powerful it has been described as been a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. You’ve heard me use those verses before because when I was out there in Louisiana and I kept thinking about what I’m going to do with my life. I told the Lord one One night I said, Lord, if you don’t come through and tell me what you want me to do, I just soon die.

There was nothing wrong with my wife, my job, my kids. But I wanted something more. Why do I exist? What is my purpose in life? I didn’t want to just, even when I was up here in Georgia and I used to run this bread drop. I’d had to get up at 3.30 every morning and go up there and load that bread truck. I had to, well they loaded it, but I had to get around and check the list that I had to make sure that I have everything that I have on there.

And I was always hoping that I’d have a little extra cake and somebody didn’t need it or I’d pick it up someplace. And I got to where I’d had every day I would eat a big old juicy honey bun. Anybody ever have a honey bun? Honeybuns, they are a special creation by God. And I would be driving that old bread truck and I had taken supper to store and I had to eat the fresh stuff in and I’d take the old stuff out and they were some still good.

And a man I would just yum that honeybundered death. And then every afternoon, every day I would have an egg custard pie. Egg, custard pie, eat the whole thing every day. So there were some good things in my life that I did enjoy. But you know, you listen and you learn, but there’s so much we don’t know and we make bad decisions. But as I look over my life, I can see a lot of good, but I see a lot of bad ones too.

I’ve often thought, you know, if I could do it over again, would I be wiser than I am now? Only if I took the wisdom of today back there with me. But if I had to do what I did back then, I may not have made as good a decision as I did. So I don’t want to go back. I don’t want to redo anything. But I want you to look at this. Because when he talks about there in 119th Psalm, how of all shall a young man cleanse his way by taking heed according to thy word?

Thy word is a lamp unto my feed and a light unto my path. the entrance oflayout word give a flight. That’s what the word of God does. The next thing there, in Psalm 44 verse 21 he makes the statement that shall not God search this out, for he know of the secrets of the heart. Have you ever thought, you know, I can’t find, you know, in my mind, it’s like a computer, but you can’t find something. You can’t remember, you know that it’s there, but you can’t find it in Him.

Did you know that the Lord can quicken your mind? That the Lord knows everything, Everything that’s ever been placed in the mind and that God can bring to you remembers the things that you need to know. God can do that. He can search out your mode as a why you do what you do. He can reveal those things to you and say, you know, that’s not right. God can do wonderful things. Don’t you think he deserves… the job of being the adminisest of your life.

You all thought for a while, you may have changed your mind since then, you all needed a pastor. Well, here I am. I’m not a Hank Lindstrom, but I’ll do until the good guys get here. But not everybody is always going to think you’re the pastor of the greatest. Some people are like this, and then some people are like something else, and it comes and goes. But when you start and think about what God’s Word says, you realize He wants to lead and to guide us just like the church needs somebody over it.

Your family needs somebody that’s in charge. Our nation, I wish we had somebody that was in charge. But in spite of all of those things, there is someone that has all the wisdom that everybody needs. Your teenager needs the Lord and needs to walk with the Lord. Every husband and every wife needs the Lord to control your life. You know if God controlled the man and God controlled the wife, then they both will get along. If they don’t, God’s not controlling one of them.

Wouldn’t you agree to that? is not divided against himself. So he says, in his major accomplishments, I laid down my life so that you may live, and that he died for all that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them and rose against. See, that’s a scriptural principle. We should live for the one who died for us, because the only reason we’re alive is because the one who died for us, did it for us so that we might live.

Well the one that did that thought we were worth dying for. So now that we are alive and we are His children should not we then serve the one that gave so much for us. I think it’s only right. He says in the book of Romans in chapter 12 and verse 1 this is your reasonable service, it’s only reasonable. And if you think about it it makes sense. And if you don’t see that it’s because you’re not thinking about it.

You’re not reasonable. Some people are just not reasonable. But the next point is I defeated the arch enemy of God and mankind and made a show of them openly. The biggest enemy that you and I have is the old devil himself. And the devil is a roaring lion is seeking whom he made of our. Jesus said I’ve already You worked it. I can whoop him again. I can protect you from the wiles of the devil. You see the devil is going to do everything he can to destroy you and me.

And he works upon our mind and God said I can protect that mind. I’ve got just the right words, scriptures that will be like a shield of faith that will be able to cause the arrows, the darts of the wicked one to flee. See those doubts that comes, faith in God makes those doubts fly away. Without the shield of faith, those doubts that sate and projects toward your mind enters your mind and can destroy you. Your references, look down at the references.

He says, Believers and followers worldwide will testify to my salvation, deliverance, miracles, restoration, and supernatural guidance. There’s people all all over the world that testify that he not only saved me and gave me eternal life, he’s changed my life. He’s changed my life. I am a changed man. I’m a different kind of a person than I used to be. The Lord did that. The Lord did that. And all he wants you and I to do is yield to His authority.

Don’t fight God, surrender to God. Walk with the Lord and you be surprised what joy you will have. The last thing here, the summation, now that you’ve read my resume, I’m confident that I’m the only candidate uniquely qualified to fill this vital position in your heart. In summation, I will properly direct your pad. Have you ever seen that verse before, Proverbs 3, 5, and 6? We have kids memorizing it camp. And the reason is because, boy, this shouldn’t be good verses there.

Where he makes it to trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lay not until thine own understanding. And in all my ways acknowledge him and he shall shall direct thy pad. In other words, he’s the one that knows where you need to go. And he’s the one that can open up the doors. And he’s the one that can protect you from the wiles of the wicked one. So why shouldn’t he get the job? Do you know anybody else that’s better qualified to help you in your life?

It’s not you. It’s not the preacher. I only tell you about the one that can do it all. But I’m not all powerful and all knowing all wise. I’m just a man just like you are. I got false. Well, I think I do. Yeah. The The last question down at the bottom of the page is, when can I start to work? So when do you think you ought to let them start to work? I made up my mind over 50 years ago.

I no longer want to be in charge. I don’t want to try to guide my life. I want the Lord’s word to be that which governs my thoughts, bringing all of your thoughts into captivity of Christ that you do what God wants you to do. Wouldn’t that be a better way to do it? And then I put this little reference down here at the bottom of Ephesians 5, 16, redeeming the time because the days are evil. Do you want to get your life in order and get prepared and all that stuff?

Before you let God guide you or you think you ought to have Him in charge now? Look up here. Forget about my water. That is good water. I almost felt like David whenever he was out there and he said, oh, if I only had a cup of water from the wells there in Bethlehem. So they risked their life, went down there and got him some water and they brought a base that I can’t drink that after me and the rest of their lives to get my water.

But since my wife had risked her life to get this, I’m going to drink it because if I don’t I’ll be risking mine. I can tell you I’ll catch the little things that goes in between them. Look up here. This is you and me. The wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. God loves us, but He hates what we do wrong. And to pay for what we do wrong is eternal separation from God in hell. Since everybody sins, everybody’s condemned.

But to go to heaven, we have to be perfect as righteous as God. None of us are perfect. None of us qualify Him. We’ve all come short of God perfection. So God says you can’t save yourself, you cannot earn your way to heaven. So we need to save you. This hand represents Jesus Christ, he’s the Lord God in the flesh. He came into the world because he loves his, hates our sin because it separates us from him. So Christ took the sin, paid for it on the cross.

Came back from the dead and said if we would believe that he did it for us, he put this payment to our account and we get to go to heaven on what Christ did for us. You don’t earn it, you don’t work for it. Eternal life, going to heaven, it’s free, it’s a gift. You don’t have to pay money or go to church or live a good life and stop any sins. God sent his son to die for you while you are yet a sinner.

Not a saint, but a sinner. God came to say, He can’t save sinners. He can’t save any other kind. If you deserve to go to heaven by your good works, God can’t save you. He can only save a man who can’t save himself. So when you trust Christ as your Savior, He gives you a free gift everlasting life, and you go to heaven on what Christ did for you. That’s the best news in all the world. And once you trust Christ as Savior, you may or you may not serve the Lord.

If you decide to, I can’t think of a better individual individual that can run your life like the Lord. Let’s pray, Shelley. With his bow nice clothes, no one looking around. Would you right now just talk to the Lord? If you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, this is so important, don’t you want to go to heaven? Don’t you want to be sure you’re going to go? You never know when you’re going to die. But right now, at this moment, if you were to die, would you get to go?

If you’re not sure, why not just say this? Lord, I want to go to heaven when I die, but I’m not sure if I’m going to go. But I heard tonight that Jesus died and paid for my sins. And if I trust Him, He would give me eternal life and He would take me to heaven whenever I die. And if you will believe that, God said He would save you to give eternal life as a free gift. If you will believe it, I’m not going to have you forward, not going to embarrass you, but I’m going to ask you just a moment to raise your hand.

Raising your hand just lets me know that what I said made sense to you and said, pre to that made sense to me and I will trust Christ right now as my Savior. And friend if you’ll do that would you let me know about just slipping in it very quickly but I’ll write that down. And what it all before we close. If you have trusted Christ as your Savior remember your God’s child. There’s somebody that is very qualified to run your life.

Why not take everything that you are, everything that you have, everything that you want to be, everything that you want do. Say, Lord, it’s all yours. I’ll do and be and go wherever you want. You can guide my life, you can direct my life. I want you to be in charge of my life. I’m going to read your word and study it so that I can do what you want me to do because that’s how God is going to lead and guide you.

Pray, and I hope that you will. Father, we thank you so much for this time, that you’ve given to us to come together to study your word. And we pray that these things things that we’ve said will not be upon deaf ears, that people were here and not be labor in vain, but people were respond. And Father, I just thank you so much for all that you’ve done for me. I don’t regret it at all. And Lord, I want others to know and to experience what you’ve done for me, that they’ll have that same joy in their life.
