Jesus came, he would be cut off, but not for himself. We are cut off out of the land of the living. We’re not going to stay here because we’ve all sinned. Therefore, he says, every tree which bringeth not for good fruit is hewed down and cast into the fire. That’s the bad tree. Now Matthew 7, 20 makes this statement, wherefore by their fruit ye shall know them. How do you know who gets to go to heaven and who doesn’t?

Well, you’ve got to have the right kind of fruit. And if you don’t have the right kind of fruit, you can’t get in. So no man can get in because he doesn’t have the right fruit. Everybody born into the world is born with a sinful nature and we all sin. And because we all sin, we all are going to die. So nobody can produce the righteous fruit that we want. So nobody deserves to go to heaven. So for these people to stand and say, Lord have we not, have we not, wonderful works.

He says, depart from me, I do not know you. It’s nothing but the flesh manifesting itself. And there’s preachers that are telling people that they can be righteous. If they live good enough, they’ll make it someday. It is total heresy. It is impossible. So, Matthew chapter 12 and verse 33, either make the tree good and is fruit good, or, and remember now, it must be one way or the other. It can’t be both ways. You can’t bring forth good and bad fruit out on the tree.

The tree can only bring forth good or bad. It’s impossible any other way. So either make the tree good and it’s fruit good, or else make the tree corrupt and it’s fruit corrupt, the tree is known by its fruit. So I got a nice little statement I wrote on here. The root determines the fruit. Ain’t that true? The root determines the fruit. But the fruit reveals the root. I hope you all understand the wisdom that’s in that verse. That little statement right there.

The root determines the fruit. But the fruit reveals the root. When you see the sins that people commit, You know, hey, that’s a sinner. So you shall know them the sinner by the fruit that comes from the sinner. That’s how you know he’s a sinner. Now the root problem is a heart problem and the heart is a reference to the sinful nature of man. So the root problem is a heart problem and that is a sin nature problem. So, got a little statement here.

There is no cure for a bad heart. We cannot change it or improve it. Now, this is where you find there’s a lot of so-called Calvinists and many others. They simply look at salvation as somebody who is determining to live a certain way and it’s the flesh. They don’t separate the two. Here you are and we’re going to convert you and you have to make Christ the Lord and the Master of your life and if you live a certain way you’re going to make it someday.

So they look at their works, they’re looking for the fruit on their tree as though this is what’s going to determine whether I’m saved or not. But that’s the flesh and that’s all they have to work with. And so I do not have any respect for Calvinism that despised the teaching. Now look at the next statement. Man must receive a new heart by a new birth. You need… Not to change this one, you need another one. A new birth.

The new birth gives you a new heart or a new nature, divine nature that comes from God. So this new root can only produce good fruit. So this one here is born of God. It cannot sin. If it cannot sin, it cannot die. Therefore, if it cannot die, it will live forever. So this new birth is when I trust Christ as my Savior. I still have this one. So there’s times in my life where yes, I will walk after the flesh, and I’ll produce the fruit of the works of the flesh.

And there’s times when I will yield to this one. This one cannot sin. This one still cannot do anything good. You have two natures as a result of these two births. So when some people look at somebody, they’re just trying to get them to clean up and straighten up their lives. They’re just trying to, all they got to work with is the flesh. They don’t give them a new birth. They’re just talking about, we’re going to change this one.

And they think their salvation depends upon how well this one develops in that close relationship with God. Well, man must receive a new heart by a new birth. This new root can only produce good fruit, the new one, not the old one. Matthew 12 verse 34 says, Oh, generation of vipers, how can ye be an evil, be good things, for out of the abundance of the heart, the root, the mouth speaker? So he’s going to let you know what is the root problem.

Matthew 12, 35, a good man out of the good treasures of the heart, the root, bring the forth good things. For an evil man out of the evil treasures bring the forth evil things. So it’s one way or the other. It’s not a mixture of it all in put together. My flesh birth has nothing to do with my new spiritual birth. They have nothing to do with each other. This was faith and this is flesh. They are separate. That which is born to flesh is flesh.

That which is born to the spirit. Spirit. Separate. So the root problem, how do we solve all of these things? Remember he’s talking about the word, the word, the word. are fruit that convicts you before God that you are a bad tree. Not only the things that you do and the thoughts that you have, but the very words that you say are going to be evidence used against the person. So he says in Matthew 12, 36, he says, but I say to you that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give a count thereof in the day of judgment.

Why? Because you see, God’s going to use what a man says, thinks, and does, and motive. All that is evidence that you are a tree, a bad tree. That’s why you brought forth bad fruit. So God keeps the books. And every lost man that stands at the great white throne judgment is going to find out the truth of what kind of tree he was. He was a bad tree. Regardless of all the good things that he so-called did, he’s a bad tree.

Matthew 12, 37 says, for by thy words thou shalt be justified by thy words thou shalt be condemned. Remember, One bad word means you came from a bad tree. How are you doing? Any bad trees in here? If you have a flesh birth, your flesh birth is a bad tree. And that bad tree brings forth bad fruit. Why don’t you glad that when you got saved, got cut down the old tree through it away and you don’t have no problem with it anymore?

No, that’s not true. Now Matthew 718 says, and he saith unto them, are ye so without understanding? Do ye not perceive that whosoever, whatsoever things from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him? So I have not made this nice and big and bold for you, so you don’t understand the point. You are not a sinner because of that which is in the world, but that which is from within you. It’s the world out there that makes me a sinner.

You’re a sinner because of what’s on the inside of you. You have an old sinful nature within. That’s why he says in Mark chapter 7 and verse 19, because it entered not into his heart. You see, the old sinful nature is not sinful because of something from the outside of you. You do what you do because of what’s on the inside of you. That’s why you’re defiled That’s why you’re unclean. You’re not unclean because of what somebody else says and does Wasn’t Jesus here in this whole world?

But it didn’t contaminate him in the world didn’t make him sin Because see he Christ was a good tree and a good tree. He only could bring forth good fruit that’s why they could find no fault in Him, nothing wrong with Him. Because He was a good tree with good fruit. And that’s why Jesus never sinned. He had no sinful nature. In Mark chapter 7 verse 19 says, because it entered not into his heart but into the belly and go up out into the drop purging all me.

Verse 20 of Mark chapter 7 says, and He said, that which cometh out of the man.” That means from his bad root, that defiles the man. And he says, in March chapter 7 verse 21, “…for from within, out of his heart, out of his old sinful nature, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornication, murders, theft, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, Lesiviousness and evil life blasphemy pride foolishness all these evil things come from Where outside of you they made me do it. I didn’t want to look no no no comes from within you That’s why you’re so bad.

You have a bad root That’s why you produce bad fruit So if anybody wants to get out their magnifying glass and see what kind of a fruit they have every person has to find that they are guilty of being a bad tree. Even the so called self-righteous religious hypocrites that walks around with their big magnifying glass trying to decide who’s got the good fruit and bad fruit, the hypocrites go look in the mirror. Thou art the man. All these evil things come from within the person.

Now look there and you’ve seen this verse before you heard about this verse. But when he talked about it in the book of Matthew, he talked about the heart in the book of Mark. Now he’s talking about the heart in the book of Jeremiah. You know, maybe there’s a connection to it. Just could be. And Jeremiah 1780 says, the heart, man’s sinful nature is deceitful of all things, desperately wicked, and who can know it. So in Jeremiah 1710, I, the Lord, search the heart.

I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doing. So whatever a man does, the fruit of the lips, what you see, where you go, how you think, how you feel, all these things about us. They are things that comes from within us. And all these things give evidence that we are all sinners and come short of the glory of God. That’s why the scripture there in the book of Matthew chapter 7 is simply God using the two-arm illustrations.

You know where else I found about the illustration of the two natures? Now I learned this from Dr. Stanford, but not from these scriptures here, but because he taught it in college. And that helped me more in my Christian life than any single teaching that I’ve ever received. I am so glad for that knowledge about the two natures. But you remember when Moses and then says, then came Amalek, and they had to go fight against Amalek, then Joshua down there fighting, and they got his arms on the Moses.

They got to hold his arms up, you remember? And when his arms were down, they would get defeated. And when he has his arms up, and so there’s the two natures. about that. That’s wonderful. Back in Old Testament there you have the two nature going. So. Matthew 5.20, 4, I say unto you that accept your righteousness. Now, what are you saying? Accept your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisees. Ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Now, the kingdom of heaven, usually we say, that’s the thousand year reign upon the earth. But remember, at the end of the tribulation period, only ones who go into the kingdom of those who have trusted Christ as their Savior. Some will do it because they’ve already done so, and they go through the tribulation period. Some, whenever Christ comes back, they’ll see Him in power and great glory, and every eye shall see Him, and it says, and they shall be born as in a day, the nation of Israel.

Then He’s gonna have the judgment of the nations in Matthew chapter 25, where those who do not believe on the Lord, do not know the Lord, will be cast into hell, and others will go into the kingdom, enter thou into the joys of the Lord. So all the believers are starting into the kingdom. Now they will have children and they will be corrupt and they will die. And at the end of the thousand years Satan will be loosed out of the prison and once again deceive those nations they’ll come against and try to have a God, all he does is just you’re done.

And so no big deal with them. But he says, but I send you that accept your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and the Pharisee. You shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.” So he’s telling them, look, that means that the Pharisees and these religious hypocrites they’re not going to make it. You’ve got to have a righteousness that exceeds theirs. So we know that the righteousness of man will not produce salvation. And the only righteousness that can exceed is going to be the righteousness that God gives to us by faith.

So he says, and be found in him not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness, which is of God by faith. God says, I’ll give you my righteousness. Now God gave me his righteousness. That would make me as righteous as God. So when you trust Christ as your Savior, God gives you a new birth. The new birth is as righteous as God. You see, when you go to heaven, you have to be justified.

is if you had never sinned, and the new birth is just as if it had never sinned. And it can be justified before God, God, God can’t find any fault in the new birth. It’s His child born of God. God has no sinful nature. This is a child of God. Part 10, 17, and when he was gone fourth into the way, there came one running and kneel to him and asked him, good master. What shall I do that I might inherit eternal life?

Well, number one, there’s nothing that you can do to inherit eternal life. But he says, good master. So Jesus said, why call us thou me good? There’s none good but one. That’s God. So are you saying that I’m God because I’m good? Or am I good because I’m God? If Christ was good, Christ was God. So in the next verse he said, and Jesus said to him, why call us down mean good? There is none good. So when he talks about these two kinds of trees, a good tree can only have good fruit and a bad tree, bad So he’s saying there are no good trees.

You have to be born again by the new birth to become a good tree. And that’s because you come from the incorruptible seed, as it says in Peter. And when he says in verse 22 and 23, you were born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible seed by the word of God that lived and abided forever. So this birth is born of an incorruptible, so it means it can’t corrupt. That means it can only bring forth good fruit.

So there is none good but one, and that is God. If he was good, then he was a good tree. So we know and come to the conclusion that Jesus was a good tree. Would you agree to that? Would you agree that Jesus was a good tree? And if he was a good tree, he had to bring forth good fruit. And if he had to bring forth good fruit, he could not bring forth bad fruit. So therefore, I believe that Jesus was the good master.

And I believe that Jesus was God in the flesh. Now, in Ezekiel in chapter 36, you’ve heard of this verse before, but God, think about what he’s saying now. A new heart also will I give thee. You see, he doesn’t, you have to keep a say, well, give your heart to, He doesn’t want the thing. He wants to give you one. He doesn’t want the old one. And you tell you, give your heart to Jesus. Did you just listen to how he described the heart and you want to give that to Jesus?

Just because people think they’re not thinking. A new heart will I give you? Ah, wouldn’t that be better? And I knew spirit will I put within you. So now we know that when we accept Christ as our Savior, we’re born in the God’s family. And as the Scripture says, we get a new heart. We got a new seed, a new root. This new root can produce the fruit that God’s been looking for. Now, we don’t all produce the fruit because we’re still over here with this old sinful nature, but it ain’t over yet.

One of these days, we’re gonna let this one drop because every bad tree, the axe will be laid to the root of the tree. And I don’t care how hard you fight it, you’re going to die unless the rapture takes place and God’s going to leave this whole body here with its own sinful nature. So God says, I’m going to give you a new one and I’ll put a new spirit within you. Now in the bold in the middle, in time, in time, the flesh will truly pass away and we will do the will of God for how long?

Forever. The new birth cannot die. In Ezekiel 36 verse 27, get to it. And I will put my spirit within you and cause you. You see, this is the new birth. You don’t have to worry about trying to manufacture it, trying to live in battle. One of these days all we’re going to do is just live naturally. We’ll be spiritually naturally. I can’t wait. I get tired of this old life. I get tired of all the battles you got to go through.

Do you know my job would be a lot easier if y’all didn’t have an owe sinful nature? You realize that? I mean, look at the problems the preacher has to go through because people got a no sinful nature. But what’s the other side of the coin? I got one too. Okay, we’ll move right along then. Now get this, because I believe it’s all time together. I believe it’s one gigantic awesome message as you go through it. Isaiah 53, you know where he always says, you know, Lord, to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?

And you know, who’s going to believe this report? And he says, for he shall grow up before him as a tender plant.” See the word plant, tender plant? It means that God planted a seed. And when he told Abraham that through you all the nations of the earth are going to be blessed because of a seed. And on down the road, and you get to the book of Galatians in chapter 3 and the seed which is Christ, the seed.

And so he came into this world as a tender plant and he grew up. Isn’t it interesting as a root out of a dry ground? He hath no form of comeliness and when we shall see him there’s no beauty that we should desire him. And then you go to the book of Luke in chapter 23 and this is what he says, then shall they begin to say to the mountains, fall on us and to the hills cover us. Now there’s a verse right before that it really gets bad.

But all the things that’s going to happen, how bad it’s going to be, how wicked the world’s going to be, sinful the world’s going to be. And he says, he’s going to reap what you sow. So in verse 31 he says, for if they do these things in a green tree, what shall be done in the dry? Jesus was a green tree with the right to live. You and I are a dried tree with no right to live. We are dead and Christ was alive.

And so we killed the only thing that had the right to live. Now doesn’t that make sense? Maybe that’s why when he says in the book of 1 Corinthians in chapter 2, for if the princes of this world were so wise, why did they crucify the Lord of glory? So Christ is the green tree that deserves to live, and we are the dry tree that deserves to die. We are the bad tree because of a bad root that produced bad fruit, and all of us have to be cut down.

So everybody born of the flesh is a bad tree. And only those that trust Christ’s Savior can have the new tree. And if the preachers would understand, they would stop all this stupid talk that they do about this Calvinism junk, looking for the fruit in your life to try to decide whether you’re saved or not. If you look into my life and you was to see the bad fruit from this old bad tree doesn’t mean that this new tree doesn’t exist.

And just because I would walk in the Spirit, that would not mean this one doesn’t exist. The one doesn’t know all the other. I’ve got both of them. I think that was the end of today’s message. Look up here. This is you and me. This is sin. We all have sin on us. And because we have a bad root, we have bad fruit. And the Bible says the wages of sin is death. We’re all going to die because nobody has produced the fruits of righteousness.

Now God wants us to live forever with Him in heaven, but we can’t because heaven is a perfect place. And God says you cannot save yourself. You can’t change what you are. God never asked the sinner to stop being a sinner. This hen represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. He was the only good tree, came from a good root, produced good fruit, didn’t have one bad fruit on this tree, so he didn’t have to die.

So what he did is he took all the sins of all the world and he paid for it. The only one that had a right to live chose to die, so that all of us who did not have a right to live had an opportunity to live with the Lord forever in heaven. So only thing we have to do, it’s only thing we could do is believe He did it for us. And so we would be born again, born in the God’s family by faith alone, believing that what He did was for us.

Don’t that make sense? And that a good news, good message. Oh, I love it. Let’s pray, shall we? With every head bowed and every eye closed and no one looking around. If you’re watching by internet tonight, I hope you understand what I’m saying. I don’t want you to be just a good person that, well, it’s a broad way and you’re just doing the best you can and you’re hanging in there. Stop hanging in there. Trust Christ is your savior and only Him.

Don’t put your confidence in the flesh. Don’t trust your good life that gets you to heaven. The only thing you can do is say, Lord, I’m a sinner. I’m a bad tree. I got bad fruit. And Lord, I’m trusting You to give me this new heart, to give me this new birth, so that I can come from a good root and have good fruit and to live forever. Friend, would you trust Christ as Your Savior right now, right where You are?

If You will do that, God said, He would save You, give eternal life, and You can go to heaven whenever You die. I pray that You will. Father, we thank You so much for this time together. Bless each one for the end of the year. Christ, name of Christ. Hello, this is Peter Amato, and from all the staff at Bibleline, we want to thank you for tuning in to today’s program. This month, we’d like to send to our listeners and supporters the book, The Declaration of the Gospel.

This is yet another book authored by Dr. Arnold, and it addresses the concerns over what is called the Crossless Gospel. Is it enough to simply tell someone to believe in Jesus for them to be saved? Does the topic of sin need to be addressed in order for someone to understand what the gospel really is? What are the essential points that a lost man must be told in order for him to be saved, and what does believing in Jesus really mean?

These are just a few of the topics that are covered in this book. So for the month of May, when you send a gift in any amount, we’re going to give you the book, The Declaration of the Gospel. Our mailing address is 4811 George Road, Tampa, Florida, 33634, and don’t forget to include your mailing address as well. God bless you and thank you again for supporting Bible on you. Thanks for joining us on Bibleline. If you are in the area, we welcome you to visit us.

The address for Calvary Community Church is 4011 George Road, Tampa, Florida, 33634. And now, a closing thought from Pastor Arnold. Friend, one day it will happen. The trumpet will sound. And we will be changed. up to meet the Lord in the air. So live today and every day. Believing that the Lord is coming soon, just keep looking up.
