Well, look at the next statement. 2 Thessalonians chapter 1 and verse 80. So in verse 8 it says, in flaming fire, taking vengeance on them that no, not God. See don’t we often ask people, do you know the Lord? Do you know the Lord? Do you know the Lord? You can’t know the Lord except through his son. You have to accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, whom to know is life eternal. So you and I are asked, do you know the Lord?
I’ve had people that we need to have that question settled. So if you hear this one and if I asked you point blame, do you know the Lord? Not to know God. I mean not know about God. Not to believe in God. Do you know God? You can only know God except through his son Jesus Christ. If you have not accepted Christ, you don’t know God. God. So when Christ comes, He’s going to take vengeance on those who know not God.
You see, the worst sin any man can do today, the worst sin, is to reject Jesus Christ as Savior. Remember this, God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. Jesus Christ coming into this world is the love of God. He has manifested his love toward us, and that while we were yet sinners, not Saint sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus Christ represents the love of God. This is God’s way of saying, this is how much I love you.
So when you accept Christ as your Savior, You are accepting the love of God. When you reject Christ as your Savior, you are rejecting the love of God. And so not to trust Christ as your Savior is one of the worst things any man can ever do because God says he’s gonna take vengeance on them that know not God. The those who do not believe the gospel. All of us have sinned. And all sin can be forgiven. of every man.
But there’s one thing that a man goes to hell because he does not accept the payment Christ made on the cross for him. Now look at this statement. When he says here in verse 8, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that no not God. Is that a little thing? Is that a light thing? Or is this something serious? Do we really believe that? Listen to what it says. And look at the last part of them. And that obey not the gospel, not to believe the gospel.
God’s going to take vengeance upon those people. Now this means your grandmother, this is your aunt Susie, this is your sister and your aunt laws and outlaws. This is everyone You hold dear to you, God says they are going to be eternally separated from the presence of God in a literal fire burning hell. Now if this is true, if it’s true, if it’s not true, take the Bible thought in the trash and go do whatever you want to do.
But if we say we believe this and believe the gospel, how important is the gospel to be gotten to the world? Now I got in the last couple of days one that trusted Christ the Savior in Australia. Australia. Another one from Singapore. Sing the poor. So there’s people, we’re trying to get the gospel out around the world. And we had it response from 137 countries. Why do all of that? Well, if this is true, then it’s important. If it’s not important, if it’s not true, then that’s don’t worry about it.
Let’s just live our lives until we’re out of here. And just as long as I got my little pinkies, you know, I’m safe and secure. I’m going to make it and that’s all it matters. All right. But do you think God is going to hold his children responsible for not reaching this generation? I’m not responsible for the next one. I’m responsible for the one in which I live. So look at the next statement. Verse 9, who shall be punished at this with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power?
and get this. The next verse, verse 10, when he shall come to be glorified in his saints and to be admired to get this in all them that believe because our test demonie among you was believed in that day. So God uses his people to take the gospel to people and they believed it because our test demonie was believed. That’s why they believed, because our testimony was believed. We went and we shared the gospel and we testified of what God did through His Son, and how they could have eternal life, and they believed it.
And they’re going to, as He says here, and to be admired in all of them that believe. Every one of us are going to admire the one that we haven’t even seen yet. It’s going to be the Lord. He’s coming back. How wonderful and how glorious that’s going to be you. Now look down there at the last verse. Hebrews five and verse nine says, and being made perfect. Talking about Christ, not you and I, Christ. Being made perfect, he became the author of temporary salvation.
No eternal salvation. When Christ saved me 55 years ago, what did He promise me 55 years ago? Now if He said, I guarantee you that Yankee, when you trusted Christ as your Savior, you’re guaranteed to be saved for 55 years. Well, it’s up. My time’s up. Now what do I do? Well, you should have died before you hit the 55. But you hang on too long. Now what if he just said, he that believeth on me hath eternal life for 10 years?
Well, he got it for 10, 15 years. Well, he got it for 15. Well, 100 years. I got it for 100 years. But he says you have eternal life forever and ever and ever and shall not in the future be condemned. Never go to hell in the future. Now that’s good news. So God has entrusted you and I with the gospel. therefore is what we do is it important. If you don’t think so, you won’t do it. You see, most people, they can’t carry tracks because they’re not prepared.
I feel naked. If I go out of the house without tracks, I feel like it’s like in a while, West days going out without my sixth gun. I got to have a sixth gun. I got to have my tracks. I got to plant seeds. Every day I go plant seeds. I was trying to convince a guy in Colorado one time about just plant seeds. But he was scared to death. He got some of the tracks and I didn’t find out until later.
He was going into the bathroom and he was leaving them behind the mirror. He dropped them down behind the mirror. Now if they ever destroy that building and remove that mirror, somebody’s going to see that track. And I says, that’s what you did. All right, now if you get a change dump, leave it on the back of the commode. And you can even leave one over there on the side of the, you know, you wash your hands, you can leave one right there.
And if you can stick one into the paper, you know, get the paper. And now there’s people who take these things and they go into Wal-Mart. They go into book section, put one in every book. They go to clothing stores, put them in the shirt pockets. Thousands and thousands in the shirt pocket. So you shouldn’t do that. You do it your way. And somebody else will do it their way. But it’s better than no way. A poor presentation of the gospel is better than none at all.
And don’t just pass out any kind of tracks. You used the one that has my picture on the front. This is when I was 17 years old and had hair. I drew the picture anyway. I’ll get something for that. Look down now at number four. Was it because the message was not preached? Have they not heard? Have they not heard? Have they not heard? How can they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? So the Scripture said, somebody, somebody, well, if it’s not me that’s supposed to go, well, if I’m not going, then maybe I need to help send.
We can help send somebody. Was it because the message was not preached? Was it because the message was not clear? You know, there’s a lot of people today that are preaching a message, but the message is not clear. They’re adding works to the gospel. When you add one work to the gospel, it’s no longer the gospel. See, the gospel and the test of the gospel is grace. It means it has to be free and it has to last forever.
If it’s not free, it’s not the gospel. And if it don’t last forever, it’s not the gospel. The gospel must be free and it has to last forever. So He must save me without cost to me anything. And it has to last forever because I can lose it wasn’t free. But doesn’t last forever it wasn’t by grace. So God says for by grace are you saved through faith that not of yourselves it is the gift of God not of works.
Blessed any man should boast. So this is what God has done for us. This is what we ought to do. But a lot of people just don’t seem to get it. Look at the next statement. Was it because someone did not go? not go. I’ve thought this and I’ve said it many times. What if, what if, what if our missionaries had gone to Bible school? What if the missionaries had gone to the foreign fields? Think of all the people that’s over in India that have graduated from Ron Sicharron’s Bible Institute if there had been nobody there to take the message.
What if they had never been anyone to go down to Trinidad? Think of all those people. And I’ve been there several times. I’ve seen the students degrades. Most of them are led to the Lord by Berbo Euchum. When I came down here and I didn’t plan on being here, when Dr. Hank Lindstrom passed away, I was up there in Ohio and I was preaching from ministry to ministry. And I had a couple days off there and that’s when I heard Hank Lindstrom passed away.
And I wanted to come down so bad. So finally we worked it out because of where I was at and I had to drive all the way over like the Cincinnati someplace and catch a plane. So I did. Flew down for the thing. I walked in the back door and the gentleman says we need you to the Paul Bear. Okay. So I came down here and we sat on the front row and Ray Stanford who was up in age and he was doing the funeral service.
And I remember him asking how many of y’all here have trusted Christ’s Savior for the last 42 years at Hank’s been on the radio, and there were hands all over this room. Anybody remember that? I mean, if you all were here, what, what, what, but a lot of you. And I was told there was people in a back building, but I didn’t even know they had a back building. But they had a lot of people back there that trusted the Lord because of Hank.
What if Hank, who had a working toward a degree in engineering at the University of Gainesville, what if he decided I’m not going to Bible college? I’m not gonna do that. Let somebody else do it. Surely God’s got somebody else. But what if he hadn’t done it? What if he hadn’t done it? Think of all the people whose eternal destinations were hanging in the balance. If he hadn’t done it, probably would have never heard the gospel. Because not everybody is clear on the gospel.
True? And what if you’d have heard a mixed-up message? And I’ve heard it from testimonies, some of you, you were messed up before you heard Hank on the clarity of the gospel. You said, that makes sense to me. I finally saw it, I finally said, do you understand that if that person had not gone, how many people will not have known the Lord? And he is coming back in judgment, fiery judgment upon that no, not God, those that know not God and that do not obey or believe the gospel.
So is it important to believe the gospel? It’s the only way to know the Lord. So when somebody says, do you know the Lord? Can you say, yes, I know the Lord. I know the Lord. I have accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. I know that I have eternal life. I know that I’m going to heaven. But the question, because why, or have they not heard, is because nobody went. Where in this world are we supposed to go? Where?
Where would those go? Just to Tampa? Just Tampa. This is the world. Or it’s Florida the world. Well, maybe the whole United States is the world. Where’s the world? The Christ is going to all the world and preach to God, to every person. Now, what is your thrust in the Christian life? What motivates you? What drives you? Why do you do what you do? You see, what got me yesterday? Lord, how did you do it? How did you manage to do all these things in my life to keep moving me here and here so that I would finally find it?
You know when I was up there in Georgia and I was so hungry inside, I knew there had to be more, but I didn’t know what it was. I didn’t even know they were a Bible college. I told Betty one day I came home and I said, honey, I’m going to Florida. I’ll come back and get you any kids when I find out, I get settled. I said, I’m going to Miami. And I didn’t know why I had to go to Miami.
I left home, left my wife and kids. They would stay with their dad. And I got in my car and as I was driving down the expressway, I’d tear to my eyes when I’m, where am I going? Lord, I know there’s something. And I kept driving. I finally stopped in O’Kellah, Florida. And I got myself a job in Libby’s citrus thing, driving a forklift inside of this ice cooler, freezing the death in there. Had to wear a big old coat.
And I picked up these cans of Libby’s orange juice and all that. All right, man, I tore up a lot of them too. And forks on the front of that? Well, I was learning. It wasn’t long before they didn’t need my services anymore. So then I got a job at Skyline Mobile Home. And I kept thinking, I need to go to Miami, but I didn’t get to Miami. And finally, they promised me a raise if I could read the blueprints.
I said, I can read those blueprints, built inside walls from mobile homes. And I said, I can do it. They said, we’ll give you a 10 cent an hour raise, man. And that’s awesome. 10 cent an hour? Oh, I was in Hollywood. I come out like two bucks a week. So I got that job. I got bedding the kids down here. I had a little old house. And I kept thinking, is this what God has for me? This can’t be.
There’s something else. I don’t know what it is. But there’s something better than building side walls for a mobile home. I know there’s got to be something. I was about 21 years old. And so the man was supposed to give me my dime. And he didn’t give it to me. I went to him and I told him, says, sir, you lied to me. That’s my supervisor. I said, you lied to me. You promised me 10th, 10th, and an hour raised, and you didn’t give it to me.
I thought, I’ll fix his little red wagon. I quit. I went home and told Betty, I said, I quit. She says, what? Now, not having a job or money didn’t even come into my mind. I was standing up for my principles. You don’t treat a child of God like this and get away with it. So I let him know God’s going to zap you. I think they succeeded and went on down the road. But anyway, I said, honey, where do you want to go?
She said, I don’t know. So I got a map that’s United States and laid it on the hood of the car. I said, where do you want to go? You want to go to California? That’s a long ways. She said, I got a brother who lives in the three part Louisiana. Okay, okay, we’ll go there. Pull it up, I said, get everything ready. That’s how I made my decisions. Just put on that. So didn’t you pray about it? I figured God knows what I’m doing anyway.
I mean, God knows everything. I don’t have to tell him what I’m doing. I didn’t know he had something for me to do and I’m supposed to get direction from him. I didn’t know nobody ever told me that. So I did what I did and went always to report Louisiana. And then when I’m going up there to Chattanooga, Tennessee, And then because of a bus ride, as a chaperone, I went to Florida and met Ray Stanford. That’s where I was headed.
I honestly believe that if I’d have kept on going, I’d have somehow, God would have directed my path into Ray Stanford. And that’s where I met Wally and met Jane and met all the Stanfords and Mike Shafer and met all these guys. Hank Lindstrom, 1964. Now often when you’re Lord, how did you do that? Because now I stand amazed in the presence of the Nazarene. I do. I stand amazed. How did you do it? Because I look at it and I think, Yankee, you didn’t have a clue what you were doing.
You’re bouncing off the walls. And I believe that if your heart is right, somehow God is able to take some of the dumbest, stupidest things that you do and God can work it for his honor and glory and you’d be surprised where he may put you. I believe God works on you today too, just like he worked on me. And that I’m not the only one and sometimes in your life you may feel like, man, I have no clue what’s going on.
And do you believe that Lord can be working in your life and moving and he’s causing things to happen and you can’t explain it all. You don’t know how you’re going to do this. Sometimes I have gotten in the jam and I said, now this is going to be great. Lord, if you don’t get me out of this, I’m not getting out of it. And if you don’t get me out of it, you don’t ruin your testimony. Because I’m telling people I’m trusting you.
Now I want to see how you get me out of that. What you’re going to do now? Or how do you do that? I can’t wait to get to heaven and have a Lord tell me, You know how I did this and I did this. You know I had four of your angels. They put in the transfers. You realize, I think it’s gonna be awesome to find out how much God has done in our lives and worked in our lives because of the decision that we made because God made know where your heart is.
Look at the last thing down to number seven. Was it because someone did not send? If somebody is supposed to go, isn’t somebody supposed to send them? Isn’t somebody supposed to help them go? Now, if you’re not gonna go to the foreign fields, do you believe that it’s God’s will that you help sin those that wanna go? I mean, if they’re going in your place for you because we’re supposed to do it, well, I’m only one person. I can’t go everywhere, but if I can get somebody to go over there and represent me, or see, we wanna have a bunch of people that represent the people of this church because this is a fortress that sends out these little missiles.
Every one of these missionaries, And we’re trying to raise some missiles here, and we want to put a nuclear warhead on the end of that missile. So when we fire these missiles out of here, they’re like a nuclear bomb exploding somewhere in the world. I told you all before, I’m an arsonist, start fires. But I’m not talking about real fires now. I’m talking about a biblical fire, where we set people’s hearts on fire for the Lord, where they want to burn for the Lord.
Look at the last thing down here. And for this cause, God shall send him strong delusions that they should believe a what? If you don’t believe the message, God will allow you to reject it, despise it, not believe it, God allow that. But they will believe a lie. And look at the last part. Second, Thessalonians 2, 12 said that they all might be damned who believed what? Now is it important that people hear the truth? How can they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?
They used to always bother me. So my father-in-law says, thank you, why don’t you do something about it? What, don’t that? And he point-strated me. I came to him one day and I was complaining again. I was a winer, I wasn’t complaining. I said, I can’t understand why come the preacher doesn’t make the gospel clear. It’s just not clear enough to understand. And I complain about all of it. And he told me, says, you don’t like the way they do it.
Do it yourself. You know, a few little slaps across my face like that helped straighten me up. So every once in a while when people come to church, I apologize for this. I like to slap your face once in a while. Just to wake you up, just to get you to think a little bit. Now, some of you ain’t going to come back again He called, he slapped me, he slapped me, he stamped on my toes.
But I did write this down. If you can’t go, well you help send others. And this is the last message I’m having right now on our mission as conference. You said, I thought it was over last week, well I did too. But for some reason or other, I just, you know, it burns and you didn’t want to see so much more done. I want God to bless the people in this church. more than any church that there’s ever been.
Because we love the Lord and we love souls, we love the Gospel, and we love the sacrifice to see that the job gets done. Look up here. This hand represents you and me and the Wall of Representatives. See, I was finished with my sermon 20 minutes ago. But they won’t let me quit because they say you can’t do it because we can’t eat until 12. So I’ve been ad libbing for you. He said, I knew that. I wasn’t told you that if 15 of you hadn’t turned on, look, the clock.
So we put a clock back there. You say, well, what does that mean? Nothing. It doesn’t mean anything. This is you and me. This is sin. We all have sin or nothing. God’s Word says we’re bad. I mean, really bad. And when God says He’s really holy, He is perfect. And one sin separates us from God. I’m pretty sure you’ve done more than one. We’re loaded. You’re in me sin. We all have sin. God says He hates our sin, but He loves us, but He hates our sin.
And for us to pay for eternal separation from God, God says that we have to be perfect to go to heaven. None of us are perfect. We can’t earn eternal life by good deeds. That’s why we need a Savior. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. into the world because he loves us, hates our sin because it separates us from him. So Jesus Christ who had no sin didn’t have to die, he took all of our sins, paid for it on the cross and came back from the dead.
He said that whosoever, believe it in him, that means you believe he paid for your sins. Well if he paid for my sins, I don’t have a payment to make. I don’t have any sins to pay for. He paid for all of my sins. So I’m trusting what he did. So that’s That’s why I’m not trying to earn my way to heaven. I’m already going. All I try to earn my way there when I’m already got a free ticket.
So he says, I give you it as a free gift ever lasting life. You go to heaven on what Christ did for you. Best news in all the world. Let’s pray, shall we? Every head bowed and every eye closed, no one looking around. Quietness of this moment, just between you and the Lord. Would you just say something simple like this between you and him? Lord, I know I’m a sinner. But I believe Christ died and paid for my sins.
And right now I will accept Him as my only hope I’ve gone to heaven. Friend, God said if you would trust Him, He would save you. And you’d go to heaven. Is trusting Christ a savior a big deal? Yes it is. If you don’t trust Christ a savior, it’s a big deal. But I pray that you’ll have the good judgment to accept Him as your only hope. With His bow nice, closed, no one looking around. I’m not gonna have you forward, not gonna embarrass you.
right where you’re sitting. I’m going to ask you in just a moment to raise your hand. Raising your hand doesn’t save you. Just let me know that what I said made sense to you. You see, preacher, that made sense to me. And I will trust Christ as my Savior. And I’d like you to pray for Him. It would just slip you in it very quickly and purify back down. Is there anyone at all? Anyone at all? If you’re watching by internet, we often have many people that will trust Christ as their Savior because they listen.
And the only thing you have to do is believe it. Would you believe that when Christ died, He did die for you? He paid for your said, will you accept that? And if you will, God will give you eternal life. And if you’ll believe it, we want to know. And right there on the screen, there’s a little button that says, yes, I will trust Christ as my Savior. I pray that you will. Father, we thank you so much for all you’ve done for us.
