I’ll take your Bible and turn to Exodus, the book of Exodus in chapter 19. Exodus chapter 19. the Old Testament. Exodus chapter 19, and you’ll notice there’s an interesting verse here. The Lord is already taking the children of Israel out of Egypt. They cross the Red Sea, gone into the wilderness, gone to Mount Sinai. And then He says here in verse 3, And Moses went up unto God. And the Lord called unto Him out of the mountain saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob and tell the children of Israel, you have seen what I did under the Egyptians and how I bear you on eagle’s wings and brought you unto myself.”

Now, there wasn’t this great big old eagle come down out of the sky, and two million people get on the back of that eagle, and a real eagle soared over the Red Sea and a real eagle soared into the… no. But in God’s eyes, God says, this is what I did for you. I carried you. Y’all have heard that poem where the guy talks about Lord, there was two sets of prints in the sand. When me and you were walking together and having such wonderful fellowship and then in the darkest days of my life, there was only one set of prints.

And you forsook me, you left me. The Lord says, no, no, no, no. that’s when I was carrying you. That’s when I was carrying you. Now, there are times in a Christian’s life when it will appear. Yes, God has saved you and did something for you that was totally miraculous. Saved you by faith, not by your works, because of how well intended, but by grace through faith alone. And what Christ did for you, he did the work because it was impossible for you and I to do it.

But see once God saved us, we were saved by faith. Then he says in Colossians, he says, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him. Now God wants you to walk by faith, live by faith. Would your trust in the Lord? You see when they came into the desert, they didn’t have the ability to produce water, They couldn’t produce food. They couldn’t produce anything. They were totally dependent upon God. And God says, I carried you as an eagle.

And He says, I did this for you. I bore you along. I did this for you. I’ll have to admit, there’s been times in my Christian life when I’ve seen the Lord kind of put me on the back of his great big old wings and sore me up there, mile high, two miles high. And sometimes you sense like, man, I’m on a mountain peak. What of you? Boy, how great God is. How wonderful everything is. And God has just been so good.

And then it seemed like all of a sudden, for no reason at all. God just dumps you off. And then like a little baby agelit that just fighting for its life, struggling, flapping the wings, and yet can’t fly. And falls all that distance, flailing and wondering, mama don’t you love me anymore? And the closer you get to the ground, about 500 feet, it comes with big old mama eagle on us. Catch us in back up and then what did she do?

Takes them up and do it again. And when she gets tired of it, well then she’ll get a hold of Daddy and Daddy takes them up there a couple of miles high and dumps them off and it’s called Prefall. They’re just falling. And you’d be surprised how many times in my Christian life I felt like I am in Prefall. I said, Lord, you have dumped me off. You even forgot who I am and where I am. Do you see the mess I’m in?

You see what’s going on in my life and you’re just a tumbling and totally no control and you can’t make some things happen. Some things you just can’t change. But living by faith is I believe, I believe that the Lord is going to deliver me before I hit the ground. You’ve seen those guys when they jump out of those planes and they’re on their way down. You know there’s a certain point of no return. If they wait too long, it’s all over, mashed potatoes.

I would jump out of the plane with my hand on it and pull it immediately. But these people that go into the military and they’re paratroopers and they do this, I admire them. They’re dumb. I would never do that. step out of a safe plane into the mid-air for that one little moment of glory, the wind hitting your face. No, I’ll just stay in the plane. But God blessed those few individuals that has the courage to step out and by faith, trusting their equipment who packed this.

John Henry, he packed this. Trent, he packed my way, way, way, way, way. And there you are on your way down. Some point you begin to panic because if it doesn’t open at the right time, when you think it should open up because of your expectation, and the closer you get to the ground. You know the ground is not going to move, it’s going to stay right there. And you know there’s a problem here. And we have deadlines. This is really a deadline.

And we have deadlines. We have expectations. God, you’ve got to do something by this point, by this point, Lord, now Lord, and you begin to see whether or not do you really trust the Lord to do the impossible things in your life? Or do you take matters into your own hands? Where does the worry and start? How bad does it get before you have this nervous breakdown? You know God, He loves you so much that He can give you eternal$$$$ life.

But whether can he take care of me in my life? Can I trust him? Or are you about ready to give up and try to deliver yourself because you can’t trust God anymore? Now I’ve been in this freefall over and over and over again and I’ve often wondered Lord, how are you going to get me out of this? And it’s amazing that he always seemed to come through in just the nick of time. The Lord can do that for you.

Take your Bible and turn to the book of Isaiah, Isaiah chapter 40. Isaiah chapter 40. See when the Lord teaches you how to trust Him, it’s not always going to be such an easy thing because we love to see, see, feel. But trust God that I cannot see, to do something that’s impossible for meMinor. You’d be surprised how that it can bring such dress upon you, despair, hopelessness. And many of God’s children live like they, but he says, like, I bore you on Eagle’s wings.

This is what he’s talking about. And when you have those little eagles in the nest, they start pushing the sticks up so that it’s very uncomfortable. We love our comfort zone, but God sometimes wants you to get out of that comfort zone. He’s going to stir up your life. He’s going to shake up your world. And sometimes things seem like they just go along, this is nice and so smooth and then all of a sudden it seems like total chaos.

And you’ll say, what did I do wrong? What did I do wrong? You may not have done anything wrong. It’s that God wants to show you how much further you need to go, how much more you need to trust Him, how much more peace you can have that you don’t have at this point. See, God is a great teacher and He’s He’s working in every person’s life. He cares about you and what]). He knows every heartache, ache, pain that you have.

He knows what you’re going to have to face for this coming year. All these things. But in Isaiah, look there in chapter 40, look what he says in verse 30, “‘Even the youth shall faint and be weary. The young men shall utterly fall, suspic and they shall run and not be where, they shall walk and not feign. Here he’s talking about not only what God has taught you because of what he has done in your life and bore you along and taught you to live by faith.

That’s why he takes things out of your hands so that you can’t make some things happen. So that you have to trust the Lord and that’s what teaches you to patience. Can I wait upon the Lord? Lord, I’m waiting on you. Lord, I’m really waiting on you. Lord, in case you didn’t get up this morning, it’s time to wake up. Lord, and you’d be surprised. Remember this, your deadlines are not God’s deadlines. Your plans are not God’s plans. Your ways are not God’s ways.

God is going to work in your life the way He wants to. When you dedicate your life to the Lord, expect God to interrupt your schedule. And when he makes a statement here in verse 31, shall renew or exchange their strength. Exchange your strength for his strength. You’re a worry for his peace. You’re misery for his joy. It’s the great exchange. When you can learn to trust the Lord because you and I, we didn’t ask to be born. born.

We didn’t ask for life to be the way it is. But God gave us the power of choice. A will. You can choose to trust the Lord as your Savior. And after your saved, you can choose to serve Him. You can choose to trust Him. God will not make you serve Him. God will not make you go to church. God will not make you give. He will not make you witness. He won’t make you. You’ll suffer consequences, but he won’t make you change.

You see, there was a choice that you made because God didn’t want you to be a robot. He wants you to do what you do because he says, look, do you see what I did for you? He says, can’t you trust me? I did something for you that was totally impossible for you to do. Can’t you believe me? Can’t you believe that I really love you? Calvinist teaching causes people to doubt whether God really loves them because they don’t know if they’re really one of the chosen They can’t know it until they die To let if they had so persevered into faith to see whether or not they were genuine or not I Already know God loves me.

I Don’t have any question or doubts about God loving me That doesn’t phase me when I oda Because I know it’s true and Because he loves everybody. I know he included me Aren’t you glad he included you? But you wouldn’t know that if you didn’t believe he did it for everybody. So when he says here, they shall mount up with wings as eagles. Now he’s talking about you mounting up, like you’ve got wings to fly. You know there’s a verse in the Bible that talks about in the book of Galatians in chapter 6, bear ye one another’s burdens.

In other words, help lifting somebody else up. Never see Christians falling. Does it bother you when Christians fail in their walk with the Lord? When they don’t do right, whenever your wife is not that perfect wife that you thought that she was, does that really bother you spiritually? Or do you just want to argue with them and point out their faults and their flaws? Or do you want to try to help your wife to be as spiritual and as godly as you possibly can?

Different way of looking at it. husband of yours that you’d like to put a rolling pin over his head because he makes them stupid mistakes. Don’t knock all of his judgment. Look who he married. He made decisions and he’ll make some more decisions, but a spiritual-minded person wants to help bear them up on Eagle’s wings and help them to be strong. Because they’re going to run, but they’re going to get weary. But if you’re stronger, you shall run and not be weary.

That means you can help somebody else. And walk and not fate. Some people are having trouble walking. Some people are having trouble running. A lot of Christians are just plain weak. You see, some have been dumped and failed the test of the spiritual freefall. They really didn’t put their confidence and trust in the Lord. They hit the ground, they’re all beat up and bruised. You can mock them or you can try to help people and bear them up on the equal’s wings.

You see, God has to teach you how to fly so that you can teach somebody else how to fly. This is so important. Let me just read this to you. Walter’s who writes for sale radio communication. He wrote a little article and I liked it. I’ve seen it many times before but he worded it in such a way that I thought it was really, really good. He says to an eagle, timing is everything. There’s a time to build a nest, time to hatch an egg, time to feed the baby eagle.

And a time to teach this young feathered couch potato how to fly. Flight school in the Ego family is a big deal. The fun begins as Mother Ego helicopters above her unsuspecting freeloader and then carefully wraps her mighty talons around him for his first lift off from the safety of the nest at this point. She spirals up into the clouds about a mile, then two miles high, allowing her horrified baggage to get his first look at the world far below him.

When the time is right, Mother Eagle retracts her muscular claws and the young eagle is on his own, free falling, tumbling, screaming, facing certain death as the ground779 quickly approaches. But at the precise moment, the ever-watching mother tucks her wings and makes a beeline for the panicky kid. As she approaches the tumbling feather ball, she zooms right past, leaving the tumbling eagle confused even more panicky. If you ever wondered, God, do you know what’s going on in my life?

You realize, no, this wouldn’t happen if you could, if you just intervened. You could have stopped all of this. You didn’t have to let this happen. I didn’t have to get this sick. It didn’t have to last this long. Out of mind getting out of 24-hour virus, you know. But this two-week stuff is for the birds, maybe the eagle. At about 500 feet from the ground, She levels off, spreads her mighty wings, and catches her young storm in her back.

This routine is rehearsed over and over again, until Mother tires. As she retreats to the comfort of the nest, Father Eagle is waiting his turn. An essence he says, well son are you ready? Then Dad grabs the horrified kid, and up they go, one mile, two miles, as the drop catch. Routine is repeated over and over. Until finally, junior Eagle learns to fly. Learn to fly. Do you believe that God may care enough about you that he’s trying to teach you how to walk with him by faith and trust him?

Letting things happen in your life that you can’t control. You can’t manipulate, you can’t make happen. And did you learn this thing called patience where you wait upon the Lord? Wait upon the Lord. Wait upon the Lord. Using this illustration, God reminded Moses, I’ve held you up on Eagle’s wings and brought you to myself. What’s true about the Eagle is true about God’s time and everything. God’s precise moves. Though often questioner also calculated, whereas he’s an omnipotent God and can do anything at any time for any one he wants.

One truth remains, God’s never in a hurry. Have you noticed that God doesn’t panic? Doesn’t that cause you to panic? Especially when you’re in panic meal. As though God, God, aren’t you worried about this? Don’t you really care? Well, His creation serves as evidence. Ancient redwoods, blue ice glaciers, our son’s fuel tank, all speak of a creator who abides his time. It’s not as though God can’t go faster. After all, it took him only six days to create an entire universe.

But God’s dealing with mankind has always been in real time, and in some cases, real slow time. For example, God’s building project for Noah took a hundred years to complete. God promised to give Abraham and Sarah a child. Remember that? It took 25 years. They were already old when he told them and then made them wait another 25 years after that. You know God wanted to make sure you understand. Look, this is really beyond you.

I’m the one that’s doing this. Did you know that God says that He does some things so that no flesh or glory in His presence? He wants you to be sure. You understand He did it, and He wants to credit. He wants you to honor Him and praise Him, brag on Him. God loves to be bragged on. Don’t you love being bragged on? God loves it too. God waited 400 years before He sprung His suffering children from Egypt. Even Jesus’ three years of ministry were prefaced by three decades of preparation.

He only had three and a half year of ministry. Thirty years before He did it though. How long do you think God should make you wait? I’ve waited sometimes years and years and years and then I’ll see God do something that I thought God must have forgot about it. he didn’t forget about it. And lo and behold, he comes through. God will not be rushed. He uses a different calendar. One day is a thousand years, a thousand years is one day.

In other words, he’s timeless. Meanwhile, sometimes pastors, preachers, try to set a fire under God’s throne. God do something. Sometimes I want something and I feel like God, you must be sleeping. And I try to set a fire under God. Well, if I could just fire God up, what we could do? If I could just get God on fire. That makes sense. Or something out of place here. Well, we see issues sometimes that can’t wait a long illness, smoltering church that’s got problems.

We were a grandchild. We want to know why our church or ranch hasn’t blossomed the way maybe somebody else has. We’ve got questions and sometimes the answers are just so slow and common. We don’t understand why. We’re doing all the right we know to do. Lord, what are you working on? What’s the purpose? What’s the point? From the patriarchs of old to the pastors of the day, God’s leaders have always asked the same question, when? Why Why not now?

You have to paraphrase his answer to Isaiah, my timing is not your timing. Your deadlines are not my deadlines. And yet his unusual timing is the very thing that makes us remember and stand in awe. Abraham was resigned to kill Isaac when just in the nick of time God says, I got a substitute for you. Joseph was on death row with no hope of parole when at the perfect time God orchestrated his promotion to prime minister of Egypt at the right time.

But look what he had to go through. He went to the pit, went to the prison, into the palace. Perfect timing. Moses sat between Pharaoh’s hard-charging army and an impassable Red Sea. Then God did what God does best. He made away when there was no way. And he told Charleston, Heston, he says, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Remember that? Timing is everything. Our timing is best when we wait on Him. Like the parent eagle, God may let us free fall.

But He’s never lost one of His kids yet. Our free fall is trusting the Lord to pull the rip coat at the right time. Can you jump out of the plane and entrust the Lord to pull the rip court at the right time. Yes, but just in case. Would you say ground zero is your deadline? You have deadlines you’ve already put on God and God has got to do it by boom. And God says, no, your greatest lesson is to learn a lesson that I don’t work according to your schedule.

You’re going to do what I want according to my schedule. And sometimes And when God even allows you to fail, it’s because there’s something from the failure He wants you to learn. Can you trust Him? I pray so. Look up here. This hand represents you and me. This wall of represents sin. We all have sin upon us. God loves us. Does He love all of us or just some of us? He loves all of us. And he loves all of us and what he did for all.

Was that he sent his son Jesus Christ to pay for our sins. See, we’ve all sinned and come short of God’s perfection. They go to heaven, we’ve got to be perfect. Nobody’s perfect. Impossible for us to go. So Jesus Christ came into the world who had no sinned and had to die. But He loves us, hates our sin, because our sin separates us from Him. So Jesus Christ took our sins, paid for them on the cross and came back from the dead.

said that if we would believe He did it for us, He would put this payment to our account, and we’d get to go to heaven. I want Jesus Christ did. You see, it’s easy for us, because the work’s already been done. And it’s something that anybody can do is just believe, trust Him, believe that when He died, He died for you. So you got to believe, I guess, to a certain point, God does love you. And He approved it by paying for your sins, and He offered you eternal life, but he will not override your free will.

He could just force everybody, but he forced nobody. 55 years ago, I voluntarily chose when I heard this to accept Christ as my Savior. If you’re here and you trusted Christ as your Savior because you voluntarily, you chose to trust. God did not make you do it. And if you’re sitting here and you’ve never trusted the Lord. God won’t make you. You can die and go to hell. That’s not what God wants, but God gave you a will, freely choose.

But you can suffer consequences of wrong decisions. This is the best decision I’ve ever made. I trusted Christ as my Savior. I know that I’m going to heaven when I die. That’s the best news in all the world. Let’s pray, shall The head’s about nice clothes and no one looking around. Would you right now, right where you are? Just simply talk to the Lord and say, Lord, I don’t understand at all, but I know I’m a sinner. But I believe when Christ died, He died for me.

And right now, I will accept Jesus Christ as my Savior. And for in God’s sake, if you trust Him, it’s Savior. It gives eternal life. Would you trust Him? Would you do that? If you’re making that decision, I’d like to have prayer for you. I’m not going to embarrass you. I’m not going to have you stand up and come forward just right where you are. So yes, I will trust the Lord. And by doing so, God saves you and gives you eternal life.

And I like to pray for you. With the head bowed, nice, close to anyone at all. So yes, I’ll trust the Lord. Just let me in a very quickly. Let me know. I love to know. Love to have prayer for you. If you’re watching my internet, the same is true. Right there on the screen. Just let us know. Father, we thank you so much for all you’ve done for us, for loving us and for bearing us on Eagle’s wings, for the way you teach us.

And sometimes it seems like we’re freefall. But Father, we are taught to look to you and to trust you. We don’t always see how you’re going to do something, but we don’t have to. Thank you so much for this church, for each person here. And Father, for those that gives me some of these strange little stories to share by how they come and they bring the gift. Just use it for your honor and for your glory. We thank you for it in Christ’s name.
