We pray that you will enjoy our commitment to the clear gospel of Jesus Christ, and that today’s concluding message of this teaching will be a blessing to you and your family.

Many, and verse many will say to me in that day, Many not few many Because there’s a lot of false teachers look down into the next verse he says and then will I profess them? I never knew you Never So if he never knew them, it means and never were saved But they were trusting in their work, so they were expecting to go to heaven They’d listen to somebody they thought was a minister of God and Their false teachers were teaching them that you had to be saved by your works That’s a false message.

In 2nd John, chapter 1, it says, for many deceivers are entered into the world who confess not that Jesus Christ is coming to flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist. So the scriptures tell us and it’s warning us about it. So we that know the truth are supposed to take a stand. And when we do somebody says, you ain’t you’re just being critical. You have such a critical spirit. You think you’re the only one right and everybody else is wrong.

I’m saying my position is right if I’m teaching grace and if somebody else teaches works, that’s wrong. Somebody else might have to figure it all out. So if I’m a dictator, mean, ugly, and unkind all in, so be it. I’m going to tell you what I believe is still the truth. And not everybody is teaching the same thing because they’re not. This is what makes us different. The Calvary Community Church has a testimony of being clear on the gospel.

Isn’t that true? We believe the gospel. People trusting Christ as their Savior, knowing that you have eternal life. The next statement I want you to see. false gospels of our age. You ever heard of the prosperity gospel? This is, churches can get big, get a lot of people if we just keep telling everybody how to get rich. And one of the ways for you to get rich is make me rich. We, you need seed money. So you’ve got to demonstrate your faith, you come on down here and you just give us all of your money to show God you really trust Him.

That verse he was singing just a minute ago, trust Him, just trust the Lord, just trust the Lord. But I’m not going to tell you to do that, but I’ve been in churches where they do just that. And you’ve got to prove your faith by all the money that you can give. That’s making merchandise out of the people. That’s when you’re not interested and they’re so, or they’re going to spend eternity, you just want to get rich and make money off of everybody.

That’s not what the Bible’s talking about. Now, I don’t believe God wants everybody to be prosperous in this life with things. I believe God wants you to be prosperous in the things of God and land of treasure and heaven. But as much as I read about the Scriptures, all the apostles died pretty poor. The Bible says, Jesus Christ, he was rich, he became poor that we through his poverty might be made rich. So we’re rich in Christ, not necessarily in the things of this world.

But if you believe that the goal of your life is prosperity and having things, then you’re going to listen to things that will help you to make more money and more money and more money. And the love of money is the root of all evil. Because when you love it so much you’ll do anything to get it. And it doesn’t matter who you hurt, who you got to walk over, all the wrong you got to do and how bad you got to be.

Money becomes your purpose and your goal. That’s not my purpose and that’s not my goal. I just want to serve the Lord. I want to lay up treasures in heaven. But there are those who preach this prosperity gift. There’s those who preach a lordship gospel. In the words, you have to commit your life to Christ in order to go to heaven. Now, I do believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life. I have no problems with that, but I don’t serve the Lord to go to heaven.

I serve the Lord because I’m already going to heaven. There’s a lot of difference. You see I believe that once you trust Christ to save you your God’s child and you have eternal life and you’ll go to heaven whenever you die and God cannot change that I cannot change it they can never be a maul But I serve the Lord because I love him And there’s a lot of difference When you do because you want to and then doing because you have to The Lordship gospel is a person committed themselves to live good enough to go to heaven.

And that is not what the Bible teaches. But there’s a multitude of preachers that preach it. The non-eternal security gospel. You can fall out of his hands. In other words, you may have salvation today, but you can lose it. Does the Bible teach you can lose your salvation? No. You cannot ever, no way, lose your salvation. But there are a multitude of preachers that preach you can lose your salvation. That’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. That’s not of the God.

It doesn’t matter how sweet they are. How wonderful they are, how kind they are. That has absolutely nothing to do with it. I may come across a little bit harder and meaner and stern and brood and all that, then I know that. But my gospel is right on the money and I know that. If you have somebody that wants to go to heaven, chances are if they come to Calvary Community Church, there’s a good possibility they may trust Christ as their Savior.

They didn’t go out to thousand other churches and love everything. But then most times the preacher doesn’t make the gospel clear where they can understand it because that’s what we call the Babylon gospel. Now there’s a social gospel. That’s where everybody wants to help everybody. You know going to all the world and install sanitary sewers. Big wells for them. Bill bridges for them. And all that can be good. But when you think this is what God wants you to go into all the world and do what?

Preach the gospel. But we are getting sidetracked and doing all these humanitarian things which are good to do but is not to be a substitute for the clear cut command preached the gospel to every person and so it sidetracks people they get him involved doing other things other than what God says to do the crossless gospel there are people that preach the gospel without a cross in other words all you have to do just believe in Jesus you don’t have to know who he is or what he did or what he said, just believe in Jesus for eternal life.

And I disagree with that. And most of the people who preach that, I don’t believe really can believe that, but they’ll do it. And it causes a lot of trouble in the grace movement. But those who believe in the free grace and yet they’ll leave out the most important thing of the whole message that You don’t have to know the death, building a resurrection of Christ. You can just leave all of that out. I don’t believe you can leave it out.

I don’t know what Jesus you’re trusting in because there’s only one Jesus that was God’s Son who came into this world and died on the cross and came back from the dead, paid for my sins and will give me as a free gift everlasting life. So I believe I know who he is and I believe I know what he’s did and I know what he said. He either believed or told me half everlasting life. So important. There are some people you can listen to them that you never know.

Where in the world they stand. They just teach it and worm a little all over the place. And you never know, what are they really believing? And there’s people go to church. What did the church believe? I don’t know. What do you believe? I just believe whatever the preacher says. Well, what does he say? I don’t know. And most people don’t have a clue what they believe. And they don’t even know why they’re going because, but they know they got to be religious.

And then there’s sacramental gospel. In other words, when they take the bread or take the drink, there’s religions that teach, this is how you receive Christ. When you take that, that becomes Jesus Christ. That becomes His real blood. This is how you get Jesus inside of you. That’s a false doctrine. You don’t do this to be saved. We’re going to have a communion service, but we’re not doing this to go to heaven. We’re not doing this to be saved.

We’re doing this because we are saved and because we already believe that Jesus Christ took upon Himself. All the sins of the world upon His own body and paid for them on the cross by shedding His blood He gave His life. So therefore we do this in remembrance what He did. And He says, you look forward to His coming again. So we don’t do this to be saved, but there are people who teach this is what saves you. That is not what saves.

The truth of the gospel, truth of the gospel is grace. I want you to take your Bible and look at the verse with me. Look there in the book of Galatians, the book of Galatians in chapter 1. chapter 1. And look in verse 6, Galatians chapter 1. And notice the great apostle Paul whom God used to write so many of the books in the New Testament. When it comes to the gospel, look what he said. In verse 6, I marvel.

Now these are people that Paul had led to Christ. And after he left, the legalistic Judaizers come down, they were wolves and sheep’s clothing, and were chewing up half the flock. And in verse 6, I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ, unto another gospel. See, the grace of Christ is the gospel, but they try to get you into another gospel to believe another gospel. And so when he says this, that word another is heteros, which means of a different kind.

He says, they’re trying to get you to believe another gospel of a different kind. But he says, there is no other gospel of a different kind. Then he says in verse seven, which is not another, this word here is the allos and it means same kind numerically. There’s not another one like this one. You see, if you’re saved by grace, you can’t make another gospel unless you add works to it. Grace means grace. The only way you can have another gospel is it has to be included in something other than grace.

It can’t be free. You’ve got to do something. You’ve got to work for it. And you’d be surprised how many preachers will tell you that if you want to go to heaven, you have to repent of your sins. Turn from your sins. What does it mean if you’re sitting there and you’re lost? You don’t know where you’re going to die. You just want to go to heaven and they tell you well you just got to turn from your sins.

What do you mean? Most times they won’t explain the term. They just stated. But you understand and you translating what he’s saying, interpreting what he’s meaning, I’ve got to stop being bad. I’ve got to stop being bad. In other words, all these bad things that I’m doing, I’ve got to stop. Now, is that the good news? Go into all the world and preach the gospel. This good news. Telling people, stop being bad. Now, is that good news or bad news?

That’s bad news. That is not good news because nobody can do it. Nobody can stop being bad. As much as you want to be good, you’re still going to be bad. God says there is none good, no, not one. All of us have sinned and come short of God’s perfection. So God says you cannot save yourself. Should a man stop all of his sins? Oh, great. But that’s the problem. He can’t. That’s why he needs a savior. You see, the turn from sin takes power steering and they don’t have the power yet.

You got to get saved first. And then you’ll have the preachers that will tell you this is all over the internet. It’s an all by I’d say 90 something percent of all churches are telling people that you have to make Christ the Lord and the Master of your life to be saved. What do you mean by that? It means that you have to promise you’re going to serve the Master. So your salvation depends upon what you do or don’t do it.

And And this is where most people cannot believe this. Your behavior, how you live, how you act, how you think, what you say has no effect upon your salvation. God doesn’t send the man to hell because he does worse and let you go to heaven because you do better. Your behavior has nothing to do with your salvation. And you have people say, well, I could never believe that. Where do you think that thought come from? God said it, but they can’t believe it.

You can’t tell me it’s free. You’ve got to do something. No, no, no, no. If God says it’s free, why don’t we just agree with God? If you can’t earn it, let’s just agree with God. You can’t earn it because God says it’s not a works. Let’s just believe what God says. Look at the next verse. He says in verse seven, which is not another, but there be some that trouble you and would pervert the gospel of Christ. There’s people who want to pervert the message.

Why? Because it’s the only message that can save. Nobody will ever be saved because they went to church, because they gave money, because they lived a good life, because they meant, well, what Jesus says, many shall say to me in that day, have we not done many wonderful works? Big deal. They never said they trusted Christ as their Savior and Him and Him alone. The only way any of us gets to heaven is did we or did we not trust Christ?

And so he makes this statement in verse eight. Now look what he says. But though we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you, then that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. So evidently there were people that were teaching a different gospel, another message, not telling the truth. And what’s the difference? Heaven and hell. It’s heaven and hell. That’s the difference. Does it really matter? I guess it matters. I do not have any authority, no right to change the the gospel message just because I don’t like it the way it is.

Either God’s word is the truth and tell it like it says it or close the Bible and go get myself and do something else with my life. But if I believe this is truth, I should preach it that is true. Look what else she says. In verse 9, as we said before, so say I now against if any man preach any other gospel unto you, then ye have received, let him be accursed.” Now, this is why you find out when you read the Scriptures.

What is the truth of the gospel? Remember the gospel of grace. The gospel of grace is not the gospel of works. The gospel of grace is not the gospel of grace and works. It’s grace alone. That means that it’s totally free that no man can add to that. Only thing a man can add to grace is his works and he says not works. See there these are two of my favorite verses in the whole Bible. For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of your self not of yourselves.

It is the what? Gift of God and look at the next three words not of works lest any man should boast not of works. I wonder what that means probably means not of works. Now in Titus in chapter 3 in verse 5 it says this and this is very important why do you think this is in the book? So false teachers, wolves and sheeps clothing must have to say in order to be different to pervert the gospel of grace, they have to teach that it is by works.

And therefore, you have to use works as the proof that you’re saved. This is why you’ll find out there’s a lot of people that become the fruit inspectors that get out their magnifying glass and they begin to examine everybody else’s life but their own. And they examine to see whether or not do you have the fruits that qualify you to go to heaven. Now understand this. I’ve got a sermon I’m going to do on this later but right now I’m just giving you a one little highlight part of it because I think it’s that important.

That salvation is by grace alone, not by your works, not how you live, not by your behavior. Because see, if you have to put any confidence in your works as the evidence that I’m really saved. What if, as you study the Scriptures and as you study your life, you find out your life is not all that holy. Would you be honest and admit that your life has not changed? You still got sin in your life? So the evidence should cause you to question whether you were ever really saved.

Because that’s supposed to be the proof that you are. So don’t you have reason then to doubt? So when you believe in the perseverance of the saints, if you don’t persevere, how long would you have to persevere? How long would you have to be good? How long would your life have to stay changed? To what degree would it have to change? And so that means that you would have to, as the Bible says, he says, judge nothing before the time.

Paul says in 1 Corinthians 4, why should I worry about your judgment upon me? He says, I don’t know anything against myself, but I am not hereby justified because he that judges me is the Lord. So how can anyone who looks at their evidence and their life the proof that they’re really saved that have to wait until they’re dead to find out they really were saved. So if this is questionable, does their bad works, the evidence, does it cause you to question the truth of what God said?

Because if what God said, he that believeth him he hath everlasting life, does that mean this? this doesn’t mean this if this evidence contradicts this evidence which one do you believe this or this your works are the verse that God says he that believe with them he hath everlasting life so that means you don’t believe this means what it says because you’re using this evidence to disprove this evidence you know how I know I’m saved? Because God says so.

It’s worked pretty good for fifty-six years. And I never have to look at my life to prove if I’m saved or lost. I know that I’m saved. I know that I know that I know. Look at this verse, not by works of righteousness which we have done. So I’m already saved and it wasn’t because of any righteousness that I did. but according to His mercy He saved us and that’s past 10. So I’ve already been saved. So if I was saved 56 years ago, I’m still saved today.

And that means that a hundred years from now, I plan on living that long, I’m still going to be saved. In a thousand years from now, I plan on living that long. I’m still saved, not by works of righteousness which I have done. but according to his mercy he saved me. Now when a person adds works to the gospel they have mutilated the mercy of God. They destroyed the grace of God and what man has the right, the authority to do that.

This is why you need to believe what the scripture says. And once you trust Christ the Savior you have ever lasting life. Now we have communion service. Are we doing it to be saved? No. We’re doing it because we believe that when Christ came, He took all my sins and gave His life so that I could have eternal life. I’m going to heaven because of what He did, not what I’ve done. And that’s the best news I’ve ever heard.

That’s why it’s called good news. The gospel is good news. Look up here. Let me this. This hand represents you and me and the wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. Now God loves us. He loves us. He hates what we do wrong. Because you see all of our sins we have to pay for. That’s why we’re in debt. And the wages of sin is debt, eternal separation from God in hell. But God loves us. He wants us to go to heaven.

To go to heaven we have to be perfect as righteous as God and none of us are perfect. We’ve all come short of God’s perfection. of God’s perfection. See, we’re all in the same boat. God says we cannot save ourselves. That’s why a man does not suppose to try to earn his way to heaven. He can’t earn it. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God and the flesh. Came into this world because he loves us, hates our sin, because our sin separates us from him.

So Jesus Christ who had no sin didn’t have to die. But because he loved us, he took all of our sins, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead. It says the only thing I want you to do, to go to heaven, believe I did that for you. So when I believe he did this for me, he put that to my account. When Peter believed he did it for him, he put that payment to his account.

When Dr. Paulson believed He put that payment to his account and he’ll put this payment to anybody’s account because he paid for everybody’s sin. But the payments not put to your account until you believe he did it for you. When you believe he did that for you, see, I don’t have to earn my way to heaven. So I’m not going to church to go to heaven. I’m already going to heaven. I don’t have to give money to go to heaven because I’m already going to heaven.

I’m not doing any good deed to be a child of God. I already am a child of God. He gave it to me as a gift freely. He paid for my sins and gave me all of that. I go to heaven on what Christ did for me. That’s the best news in the world. But you do have to be careful. There’s a lot of wolves around. And if I find anybody in our church teaching things that would lead in air to what I’m telling you, I’m the kind of a person that will deal with it.

and I will face anybody. I won’t tolerate it. I don’t like wolves and I don’t want them destroying the flock and if I have to be mean and ugly I will be mean and ugly but I’ll do it in love. I love the flock. I love God’s people. God says warn, warn, warn. That’s what I’m gonna do. If you have never trusted Christ as your Savior? The only thing you have to do is would you believe that He did it for you, that He died for you?

And if you all believe it, God said, He had Savior and give eternal life. He had never cast you out and never lose you. That’s the best news in the world. Let’s pray, shall we? It had bow nice clothes. No one looking around. Right in the quietness of this moment, just between you and the Lord, why not say something simple like this, Lord? I don’t understand it all. But I want to know that I have eternal life. I want to be sure going to heaven.

So today, right now, I will accept Jesus Christ as my Savior. And friend, God said, if you’ll trust him right now, he will save you right now, give you eternal life. And you can know that you’re going to heaven. Not going to embarrass you. Not going to have you forward. But right where you’re sitting, if what I said made sense to you, say, appreciate it, and I will trust Christ as my Savior. Friend, would you just slip your hand very quickly, put it right back down.

Just slip it up and put it right back down. All it means is just how I will trust Christ as my Savior and I like you to pray for Him. And we’re all before we close. Our Father, we are thankful so much for all you’ve done for us. Thank you so much for giving your life for us so that we can have the free gift of everlasting life. In Christ name we pray Amen.
