We pray that you will enjoy our commitment to the clear gospel of Jesus Christ and that today’s first part of this two part message will be a blessing to you and your family. We’re gonna look at an interesting subject today. Once you take your Bible and turn to the gospel of John John chapter 8. John chapter 8, people wouldn’t normally call God a liar. But you’d be surprised how many people don’t believe what God said is the truth. You see, the only reason we have so many different religions in the world is because they don’t believe what God said.

And then there’s those who take what God said and twist it saying he couldn’t have meant that. So there’s all kinds of religions in the world and how in the world are we supposed to be able to decide which is right and which is wrong. Well you’re fortunate to be here today because I’m going to tell you. In the book of John in chapter 8, look in verse 44, Jesus is speaking, he says, he are of your Father the devil and the lust of your Father ye will do.

He was a murderer from the beginning and a bow not in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh the lie, he speaketh of his own for he is a liar. The Lord who is truth says that the devil is a liar. And remember this, the devil is a great theologian. The devil knows the Bible and he’s still the devil. So just because you know the Bible and can quote the verses doesn’t mean that you’re not of the devil.

He says, ye are of your Father the devil and these are the people that knew the Scriptures. He’s talkingHelper the people that knew the Word of God. They had the law. And look what he says about them. every one of you in this room would trust Christ as your Savior if you knew the truth and believe the truth and every one of you that no Christ is your Savior would serve the Lord with all your heart unless you believe a lie.

I’ll repeat that. Every one in this room that knows Jesus Christ as their Savior would serve the Lord with all their heart unless you believe a lie. If you believe a lie, you will not do what God wants you to do because understand truth cameMinorosponsors. Truth came by Jesus Christ. He is the way that truth and the life, God cannot lie. The devil is a Swordsman, the Lord is a liar. So if you don’t believe what God says, who do you think you’re listening to?

The choices are not a lot. If you’re listening to God, you’ll believe the truth. You listen to the devil, you believe alive. And he lies, lies, lies. But once you take your Bible, look here in the book of John chapter 14. John chapter 14, and look what he says here in verse one. Not your heart be troubled. You believe in God, believe also in me. See, believing in God is not going to get yous to heaven. A lot of people believe in God.

I believe in God. Yeah, but do you believe God? A lot of difference. You can believe that there is a God that created the heavens and the earth. But do you believe what that God said about you? You know, he knows you better than you know you. And And he said some things about you. Do you know what he said about you? Now this isn’t gossip. He wrote it in the book. So I’m just going to tell you what he said.

Now, I’m not the judge. I’m just telling you what the judge said. The judge says that you’re no good. The Lord God, who is nothing but truth, says you’re a liar. He said, boy, I didn’t come here to get offended today. I’m not through yet. God says that you are a sinner. Yeah, I like that. Are we doing all right so far? God knows the whole world. And what God says is the truth. He says, there is none righteous, not one.

There’s none that doeth good, not one. All have sin, all are guilty. That’s what God says. And he always tells the truth. He knows it’s pretty good. He knows our mind. He knows how we think. And not a person on the earth deserves to go to heaven. You know, well, where do we deserve to go? Hell, we’ve earned the right to go to hell. But nobody has ever earned the right to go to heaven. The wages of sin is death, and all have sin and all will die.

So He says in my father’s house in verse 2, or many mansions, if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am there you may be also.” Now, did he tell the truth? Is he telling the truth or is he lying? This is the Lord. The Lord does not lie. He always tells the truth.

So somebody wants to know, hey, say, hey, we don’t know where you’re going. Where you’re going? And how do we get there? Well, he was going back to the Father. He was going back to heaven. How do we get there? He says in verse 6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth and the life. No man comes unto the Father but by me. That means there is no other way. There’s no other option. Only through Christ can a man get to heaven.

It’s either we believe what God says or we don’t believe what He says. Now take your Bible and turn over there to the book of Titus, the book of Titus. And there’s one little verse. I just want you to kind of see it and hang on to it. Because it makes a statement, the book of Titus in chapter one, this is on page 1283 in a church Bible. Says they’re in chapter one in verse two, in hope of eternal life.

That’s one thing that everybody wants to live forever in eternal bliss. To know that you are gonna be forever like that. Where there’s no sin, no sorrow, no sickness, no death, No disease, no nothing like that. Paradise. He says, which God get this and on the line these next three words that can not what? Can not lie. He cannot lie. God cannot tell a lie. So if he tells you something in his word, the Lord, and you believe it, you can get the results of what your faith will give to you.

But if you don’t know what the Word of God says, and you just think and imagine, you’re going to believe a lie. Because see, the Bible is revealed truth. It means that man on his own cannot come up with this conclusion. You cannot design this truth that’s found in the Word of God. It’s revealed truth. It’s not truth that a man can find on his own without the Lord. You can’t find it. So it comes from God. There’s a wisdom of the world and there’s the wisdom of God.

This is why this is so very, very important. Now take your Bible and turn to the book of Ephesians in chapter 2. The book of Ephesians chapter 2. Now we know that the devil lies and sometimes you know some of the people say, well you know some of the biggest lies that you’ve ever heard is you know the checks in the mail. You ever use that one? Or I gave it the office. Or you know, I’m from the federal government and I’m here to help you.

Or you know, I’m a Florida Bible college student and I just want to say a few words as we’re moving right along. Here in the book of Ephesians in chapter to look what he says in verse eight, in verse eight, for by grace are you saved through faith. Is that the truth or is that a lie? If it’s the truth then you can’t be saved any other way than by grace. Grace means it’s free, grace means it’s not a works.

So he says for by grace are you saved through faith that not of of yourselves. It is the gift of God not of works, lest any man should boast. Now, there’s the truth and there is a lie. What do you think the devil is going to tell you about what God says here in this verse about the truth? If God says it’s by grace, what is the devil going to say? It’s by your works. If God says it’s free, then man begins it from the devil because he won’t believe the truth must believe a lie.

And it is of yourself. It’s what you do. So that means that you have to wait until you die and you stand before this judge and he puts your good works on one side of the scale and all of your bad works on the other side, whichever one outweighs the other, determines which way you go. So you have to wait till you die. So that you have to wait till you die that means you can’t not know ahead of time if you’re gonna make it or not.

But the Bible says you can know you have eternal life. Now, see I know right now I have eternal life. You say, well how do you know? Because I’m so good, no. It’s because Christ paid for my sins and I believe it. And He gave to me eternal life as a free gift the day I trusted Him as my Savior. Oh, when did I do that? 55 years ago. So I have been saved. So if I have been saved, I’m not seeking to be saved.

I already am saved. If I can say I am now saved, it means I don’t have to wait till I die to find out if I’m saved. If I can know I’m saved now, it means I don’t have to wait till then to find out. I can know now. But the only way I can know it now is it has to be free. But if it has to be by my works, well then I’ll have to wait till I’m dead.

Somebody’s telling the truth and somebody’s telling a lie. I wonder who it is. The devil tells lies to get you where you do not believe what God says so simply and clearly in his word. Look in verse 9. Not of what? Not of works. But what does the devil say? It is by your works, but he wants to say it in such a way that you won’t think of that as you’re being saved by your works. He just tells you, yeah, you’re saved by grace, but you better go to church and you better and you better and you better and you better because, hey, just in case.

As a backup, in case plan A doesn’t work, plan B’s set in stone. See there, you earned it. You deserve it. way he can see you to help because look how good you’ve been. Now who’s telling you all that? The devil and he lies, lies, lies. Now take your Bible and turn to the book of Titus in chapter 3, the book of Titus in chapter 3. Look in verse 5, not by words of what? righteousness which we have done.

But according to His mercy, He saved us. Saved us is past and I’ve already been saved. So that means that I don’t have to wait until I’m dead and stand before the judge and find out if I’m going to make it. I have known from the day that I trusted Christ as my Savior, He gave me eternal life and I’m going to heaven whenever or I die. And that’s the best news in all the world. Now, take your Bible and turn to John chapter 6.

John chapter 6. Now, this is a simple little gospel message this morning because every once in a while, I think sometimes if you don’t watch it, you can drift and then I have to keep pulling you back to the simplicity of the gospel, lest by some means of the devil who lies, you’ll be listening to some radio or television and evangelists, you know, that’s not that bad. No, that’s pretty good. He came close. He came close. Well, it wasn’t clear, but just a little muddy.

And after a while, you can begin to accept muddy. And then it’s terrible. And then it’s… no, no, no. Stay crystal clear. Stay with the clear, simple gospel. Manifest that. magnify that because it’s so important. The devil wants us to compromise little by little. Then after a while we won’t know what we believe. And then you don’t want to say something about some terminology because we don’t want to offend anybody. Well when it comes to the clear gospel, The one that I don’t want to offend is God.

If man gets offended because I tell the truth, let him be offended. I’m more offended because one day I might have to stand before the Lord. No man died on the cross for my sins. It was Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. I don’t owe anybody else anything but the truth of the gospel. So I don’t need to compromise for anybody to get anything. I have never in all these years played up to anybody because they got money. I decided I’m not going to be bought by anybody for any reason.

If I believe this is what the book says, teach it and believe it. Rest upon it, trust it. And I believe that God’s Word is truth. Therefore we believe the truth. Look at this simple verse. Look there in John chapter 6 verse 37. Give what he says, all that the Father give it to me shall come to me and him that come to me I will and no wise do what? I’ll never cast you out. Who said that? Jesus said that.

He said, I’ll never cast you out. You know, well what if I do something wrong tomorrow? It was wrong. It was sin. Is it paid? It’s paid. What about down to road 10 years from now? I find there’s something really, really bad. Is that wrong? Yes, wrong. Send, send, paid. What if I commit suicide? You see, what if you commit suicide, you’re dead. How can you ask for forgiveness if you’re dead? So therefore, you must have gone to hell now.

And there’s people that will teach you that. Yes, committed suicide, send, paid. How many sins did Christ pay for? All of them. I’m not recommended when you leave for you to go out and commit suicide. Don’t you dare blame that on me. I get blamed for a lot of stuff. But anyway, look at verse 39, verse 39, and this is the Father’s will which you have sent me that of all which you have to give them me, I should lose nothing.

Now you believe he told the truth, I’ll never cast you out and I’ll never lose you. Never lose you. Never. That means in the future he will not, cannot ever lose me. Means I cannot go to hell in the future. It’s not because we’re so good. It’s because God is so good. The devil always wants to make God look bad. But God isn’t looking bad. The truth of the gospel is what makes God look good. When you add words to the gospel, that doesn’t make God look too good because now it depends upon me.

I’ve got to earn it. And you never know if you’re good enough andillegal he says it’s not by works of righteousness which we have done. Look in verse 47 there, barely, barely I say unto you, he that believeth on me might have everlasting life. He that believeth on me and does the best he can and goes to Calvary Community Church and pays 50%. See why it’s 50? Well inflation. No, he He said, believe it or not, half, present tense, half, right now, half everlasting life.

When can you know you have eternal life? When you believe, when you trust Christ as your Savior, that very day, that very moment, you can know that you have everlasting life. And God will never cast you out and never lose you. Now take your Bible and turn it over there to 1 Peter 1, 1 Peter 1. When you trusted Christ as your Savior, God saved you and you were born into God’s family. You became a child of God. That very moment you trusted the Lord.

If you trusted the Lord yesterday, you became a child of God yesterday. If you trusted the Lord a week ago, God became your father a week ago. God promised, remember this, if God is a liar, no promise is secure. If God is a liar, no promise is secure. We would have no security at all if God is a liar. Aren’t you glad God is a good God? That God is good. What if we’ve been born into this world and God was a bad God?

Wouldn’t that be just terrible? You should If he’s such a good God, why is all this bad stuff? Well, God didn’t make the bad stuff. God gave us a free will. We did it. We listened to the devil. Though God is truth, devil’s a liar. And man believed the lie or deceived by the devil. Don’t blame God for what man does. God is still just and good and righteous and holy, but he allows us to make decisions and we’re not puppets.

We’re not robots. God gave us the sovereign God chose in his sovereignty to give to man a free will. And then it lets us suffer the consequences of our brothers. bad ones and enjoy the blessings of our good ones. How you doing? And one of these days, he says, you’re going to die. We’re all going to die. And you can have eternal bliss or eternal punishment in hell, your choice. If you will believe the truth, your trust, Christ is Savior.

If you don’t believe the truth, you can believe the lie. But the lie is going it costs you forever. Just think about this. You will never cease to be.” I asked a man the other day. I said, where are you going? He says, North Carolina. That’s different than the guy told me he was going to Tennessee. This other guy says, I’m not talking about your body. He said, well, that’s all I am. I said, have you ever died before?

He said, well, no. I said, then you don’t know it’s true, do you? But here in the book of 1 Peter, what he says here in verse three. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope or a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, because Christ come back from the dead, we know there’s life after death, because Christ died and there was witnesses, he died, but he came back from the dead.

Well, that’s the guarantee, hey, we can live after we die. Right, Ray Stanford says, I’m gonna live till I die. And then I’m gonna lift forever. So notice this. In verse four, when you trusted Christ as your savior, you were saved from something to something, to an inheritance that’s incorruptible and undefiled that fate if not away reserved in heaven for you. Why would God make a reservation for you if you’re not gonna show up? See, whenever you trusted Christ as your savior, God wrote your name in the Lamb’s book of life.

And you have a reservation. And Jesus went to prepare a place for you that where he is, we may be also. And then he says, I am the way the truth. Now, do we believe him or not? So does God’s word tell you that you can know that you’re going to heaven when you die? And he says here, I have an inheritance because I am his child. Now you’ll see there’s certain verses that says, what must I do to inherit eternal life?

You can inherit eternal life unless you’re God’s child. Well, when you trusted Christ as your Savior, you become God’s child. Now you inherit what your Father has. Your heirs of God and join heirs with Christ. So I inherit, that’s what he says. An inheritance that’s incorruptible, down here everything that’s corruptible. Nothing lasts down here. Undefiled, it means it’s not even possible for sin to be in heaven. See, that’s why God can’t let you and I go to heaven the way we are, because look what we did down here.

Now how long would it take us to mess up heaven? It wouldn’t take long. So God’s going to change us. And He’s going to take your new birth that was born of God which has no sin. And your body that has that old sinful nature, God’s going to change it and you’ll be changed from this old creature that you are, and that body’s gonna be changed and you have a glorified body. Means you won’t have a sinful nature. So that when we all get to heaven, there is no possibility of us ever sinning again, because the devil isn’t there.

There’s nobody there to tempt you or I. We couldn’t sin if we wanted to, we can’t. That’s why the Bible says God cannot sin, and God cannot tempt you to sin. God never tempted you to sin. You said, Lord, make me do this. Lord, I never told you and made you do anything wrong. That’s the other guy. Starts with a D, D-E-V-I-L, devil. And he is as real as God is real. And so notice what he says here. Undefiled, that fadeth not away.

Down here, everything fades away. All of us are like grass that groweth up And then we fade away. And life is like a vaporist smoke, a puriffer little while it’s gone. It wasn’t long ago that one of the most beautiful little boys in all the world was born. 74 years ago, I sent a wave of doubts sweeping across the room. But he’s gonna fade away. Even though, come Lord Jesus comes soon. So one of these days we’re all going to die and want to be wonderful when we have a glorified body and will be in heaven with the Lord.

And look what he says in the verse, reserved in heaven for you. It’s waiting on you. I got a place. I’ve already got my ticket. Jesus is my ticket. I have him. It’s already been punched. And you know what I’m talking about, don’t you? He has the scars in his hands and his feet. I have a ticket and I’m going to heaven when I die because Jesus is the way. And if you have Christ, you have eternal life. And that’s the truth.

And so you and I can know this and know that we have the truth of what God’s Word has to say. God does not lie. Let me ask you a question. How many of you in here know right now that if you died right now you go to hell or if you see him? Were you caught off guard? Would you lie for me to ask that question again? How many of you know, be on the show that if you died right now you go to heaven?

heaven. Let me see your hand. Oh, that’s better. Oh, that’s so much better. That’s so much better. I mean, are you going to hell again? I’m going to have a sense of sin. We ought to have a bunch, trust the Lord this morning. Now, take your Bible and turn with me to the book of Revelation chapter 4. Revelation chapter 4, God does not lie. You can take him at his word. And the reason I know that I’m going to have it, because God said so and I believe him.

I have never had a Holy Ghost fit. I don’t jump, shout, and hooten, hooten, hooten, kick the hills together, and lighten the bolts, going up and down with fine, and so on, and, and, and, and, and, and. I’ve never had that thrill of that chill, but I trusted Christ as my Savior, and according to the Word of God, I’m saved, because God’s Word says so. It rests upon what God’s Word says, not some experience that I might have or how to feel about something based upon the book.

Revelation chapter 4, look in verse 11, look in verse 11, Thou art worthy O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power for thou have created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created. Did you know this. You were created by God for God. It says here, He created all things for thy pleasure they are and were created. God wants us to please Him. You see, everything is not just to please us. So most people in life, they always want to find out, well, what makes me happy?

What pleases me? What do I want? It’s my life. And God says, no, you’re not, that you’re bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body in these spirit, which are gods. You belong to God. So we are God’s children, and God wants his children to please him. And he says that you cannot please God except by faith. Are you a new listener to Bibleline?
