The next thing I want you to look there is in Galatians chapter four and verse six. You’re following along in your notes a little bit. God bless you. Galatians in chapter four, looking verse six. And because ye are sons, God has sent forth the spirit of his son into your heart, Christ, and Abba Father. Did you realize that the day you trusted Christ is your Savior, you were born of God, born by the spirit of God. When Jesus says to Nicky Namah, he must be born again.

That which is born of the flesh flesh. That’s your first birth. second birth that which is born of the spirit spirit. So your second birth is a spiritual birth born of God. That’s why I can’t see your spiritual birth but I can see your first birth I can see your flesh birth. Now this spirit birth I can’t see it. That doesn’t mean it’s not there to because I can’t see it because I can’t see spirit but it says you became a child of God.

I am his child and he is my father. that took place the day you trusted Christ as your Savior. And once you’re his child, you are always a child of God. And so the law didn’t give you this birth. The law cannot keep you as a child of God. The law has nothing to do with it. You are not born by the law, but by the Spirit of God. You became a child of God. And how you you live or don’t live does not affect that new birth.

It was born because of God’s great love and mercy towards you, not because you deserved it. You never did deserve it and never will deserve it. And that’s why by allowing somebody to come in and suddenly try to change all these things, it destroys that peace of mind. I know I have eternal life. I know I’m going to heaven. I am a child of God. God is my Father and nobody can never change that. And don’t you let anybody with any teaching try to change your mind and pervert this wonderful message that God has given to us because it won’t give you the peace and the joy and the happiness that you think you’re going to have because now it all depends on you and you’re not going to be able to trust you.

You can’t trust you. You couldn’t trust you to get salvation and you can’t trust you to keep salvation. The Bible says, curse it is the man that put confidence in man. And I think that just liable to include yourself. Now look at the next statement. The spirit child will be persecuted by the flesh child. This just kind of walks you through the Christian life. You’re not saved by the law, you’re saved by grace, and you and I are to understand the Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of grace in the book of Galatians to help us understand the spiritual life.

Now that you have been born by the Spirit of God, you are a child of God by the Spirit of God. And now you’re to understand that there’s going to be some persecution to the child of God, and as he says here. In your notes Galatians chapter 4 verse 29, but as then he, that was born after the flesh, persecuted him, that was born after the spirit, even so it is now. Look up here. I’ve done this many times, but just a tad of it, just to refresh your mind, your memory.

First birth, second birth. I have been born twice. Once into this world in 1942, don’t try to figure that out, just figure it. It was a couple years ago. And then I trusted Christ as my Savior, 1960, born of God, flesh, spirit, two births, sinful nature, no sinful nature. I am a child of God, and this one doesn’t sin because it has no sinful nature. My first birth sin because it has a sinful nature. One day this one is going to die.

This one will never die. This one is going to be buried in the body, is going to be placed in a grave and despat to dust. And you’ll never have to worry about that old sinful nature anymore because it’s in my numbers, but my new birth. I got my new birth, but I didn’t get my new body yet. So that’s, I’m still waiting on, but I’m going to get it. And it’s going to be better than this one. So don’t worry about how this one looks.

The older we get, the ugly gets. They say ugly and this goes clean to the bone. Beauty’s only skin deep. And even though there’s some Some people that are ugly maybe, but listen, some people abuse it. Now, here in Galatians, he makes this statement in verse 29, the flesh persecutes the Spirit. See there? But he then, he that was born after the flesh, persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so he it is now. Look up here.

The flesh persecutes the child of God. in your Christian life so that you understand your flesh does not like this new child. It’s kind of like having two kids in the family and the older one doesn’t like the younger one because he gets all the attention now and all the love. And so there’s jealousy sometimes and sometimes not. But when they get old enough they try to find a way they fight. And most kid’s refight. God says this one doesn’t start the fight, but it definitely should end the fight because you see there’s a flesh against the spirit, a spirit against the flesh.

Now this is laid out, it’s walking you through the Christian life so that you understand you were born by the Spirit, became a child of God by the Spirit of God, and now you’re going to be persecuted because the flesh is going to war against this birth. He’s telling this to the Christians. And you don’t solve this problem by putting yourself under the law. This one was under the law. You don’t put this child under the law, or try to be spiritually minded by walking in the flesh.

Not going to happen. And so when they’re putting God’s children back under the law, then you’re talking about walking in the flesh, where you made perfect by the flesh or by the Spirit. So God wants His children to walk in the Spirit, not in the flesh. This old man, you can’t trust him. He’ll lie to you, cheat you, deceive you, and do it again, can to destroy you. So this is why he brings us out here in the book of Galatians.

Now look in chapter 5, chapter 5 and verse 5. For we through the Spirit, not through the law, through the Spirit, wait for the joyful anticipation of righteousness by faith. So when we believe what God says we perform and we do it because of the Lord and as a child of God and you don’t get by the law but by your faith and what Christ says and what He wants you to do, it’s so much better when a child of God serves the Lord because He loves the Lord.

But you have to believe that God loves you. And a lot of times your love for Him is a direct ratio to the caliber of your thoughts of his love for you. If you don’t think he loves you, you have a difficult time serving him. But if you really believe he loves me and know he’ll never cast about it, he loves me and I want to please him. That want to will give you more power in your Christian life than all the rules and regulations in the whole world.

He’ll never do it for you. Now look what he says. Chapter 5, look in verse 16. Chapter 5,yle 16. This I say then. Now he’s going to say this because of everything else he’s already said. But this I say then because this is true. He says, walk in the Spirit and ye shall not will fill the lust of the flesh. That’s how you handle, you don’t put God’s children under the law. But teach them to walk in the Spirit means walking in obedience to the Lord.

Do you understand you are His child? I’m not doing something to become a child. I already am a child of God. He already is my father. I already have eternal life. Now I don’t serve the Lord to get something, but because of what I’ve already received. received. I’ve already got that. I’m already in an inherited eternal life. I’m already going to heaven. And so I serve the Lord because I want to. So you allow the Holy Spirit that lives in you to teach you His Word so that you can grow and become strong and serve the Lord.

And love will do more for you then all of the fear of the law can ever do. And that’s what people are trying to put you under the law, that’s legalism for the Christian life. And putting you under the law for salvation is legalism. They’re both legalistic and they will not not give to you what they promise to give to you. Your peace and joy in heaven is going to be because you know you’re satisfied. God. but you replace God with a law and that’s not personal.

The Spirit is a person. Your Christian life becomes personable between you and a person, God himself. And everywhere you go you think about the Lord, the Lord, the Lord, or you can go off through life, the law, the law, the law. Well I can’t do this, I can’t do that, I can’t do this, I gotta do this, I gotta do that, I gotta do that, and you think about walk him in law. Forget the law. Love the Lord. The whole law can be fulfilled in one word.

Know what it is? Love. Love is powerful and it’ll work. That’s why God says when they ask him, what is the greatest commandment? He says, love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, mind, body, soul, and strength, and thy neighbors thyself. Love. If we loved each other the way we should, we wouldn’t have to have any laws in this country. The reason they’re having to pass more laws and more laws and more laws are because nobody loves each other.

And the reason they don’t love each other is because we got away with the new birth. And don’t tell the kids about God and the Bible and sin and, oh, look at my marriage. And then if you tell them that what the truth is, they get you for hate crime. We’re really got a sick country anymore. And I’m not even waxing political yet either. But now in verse 16, this I say then walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Now you still got the lust of the flesh. See up here look up here. I still got my own flesh. I still got my first birth. You see, whatever you look like when you got saved, you look like that right after you got saved too. It didn’t change nothing. He just gave you a new birth. this old birth, this old man is just as bad as it’s always been. That’s why you’re still capable of committing every sin in the book.

So he tries to break it down and show you what he means by sowing to the flesh and sowing to the Spirit. So he says, walking in the Spirit means sowing to the Spirit. Walking in the flesh is sowing to the flesh. So I’m either going to fulfill the desires of the flesh or the desires of God, the Holy Spirit. So walking in the flesh is showing the seeds of the flesh and walking in the spirit is showing the seeds of the spirit.

So understand this difference. So he talked into all of his children, God’s children. verse 17, for the flesh lasses against the spirit, spirit against the flesh. Look up here, flesh against spirit. Have you noticed you got a battle in your Christian life yet? Have you ever wanted to do right? And he says, no, you ain’t. Says, yes, I am, no, you’re not. I’m gonna go to church today. No, you’re not. You’re gonna stay home and watch Batman. Said, I’m gonna have a coars.

No, you’re not. Yes I am. Boom. And you and I know that some Christians are so skinny they can use a cheerio for a hula hoop. Right? And it’s back and forth. Now, if you want to become strong in your Christian life, feed upon the word of God. Satisfied these desires and these desires will grow strong. And you’ll have more greater, powerful desires than the flesh. The flesh still got the lust of the flesh. But if you’ll walk in the Spirit and fulfill these desires, you’ll have victory over these desires.

But if you don’t walk in the Spirit, you have nothing to restrain the flesh. you are naturally going to walk in the flesh if you don’t walk in the Spirit. You only got the two. I’m not going to do either one. Oh, really. If you don’t do this one, you’re doing this one. And if you do this one, God says you’re not going to be happy in your Christian life. You’re not going to have the love and the joy and the peace that you want to have.

So understand that. So he says here in verse 18, but if you be led by the Spirit, you are not under the what? Look up here. This one, the new birth, is not to be led by the law, but by led by the Spirit. You’re not under the law. The new birth is not under the law. Why? Because the law condemned and it was designed for the flesh, your first birth. This one is not the first birth. This one is the second birth.

It was not born under the law. When we were all born in the world, we were born under the law. And the law condemns everybody. But this one was not born under the law. This one doesn’t have a sinful nature. He can’t sin. Can’t commit one single act of sin. That’s your new birth. And this is why when you leave this whole world, this one goes to the grave, this and goes to heaven. So he says here in verse 19, now get this, this is very important.

Now the works of the flesh are made known, which are these? And these are the things that come from this birth, look up here, that’s the flesh and these are the works of the flesh. If you fulfill them, the desires are the lust of the flesh, this is what you can bring forth in your Christian life. Every Christian can do this. You can let this old nature ruin your life and you can fulfill all the work so that you say, what is the, what’s the same man capable of doing?

What is it in verse 19? A adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lessiviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance in your relations, draft, strikes, additions, heresies, envious, murders, drunkenly reveling, such like, all those things. You try to tell me a person can trust Christ to save it and commit all those things? Yes, of course. But that’s the first birth that does all of this. Are you trying to tell me that once you’re saved, you’ll never walk into flesh? They don’t know the Bible. The Bible is telling the believer, hey, there’s an option.

There’s a choice that you’ve got to make. And if you don’t like those things, because see, this one cannot inherit eternal life. He’s not I told you about this one, can he turn on, Harry turn life. This is the Son of God and all of God’s children go to heaven. This one is not the children of God and he can’t go to heaven. Don’t that make sense? So now look down here in verse 22. But the fruit of the spirit, it really doesn’t say fruits of the spirit, just fruit of the spirit.

No matter what, you kind of like it, you get one and you get them all because you’ve got the Holy Spirit living within you. All he wants to do is for those to be sown. So as you and I go through life, we’re supposed to walk in the fair, so loved, so joy, so peace, so patience. So all of these qualities that we have within us, because when you’re so to the flesh, you go through the life and you’re so in this, and this and this and this, and all things is wrong.

So you and I have a choice to make in our Christian life. Now, down at the bottom of the page, I want you to notice this here one statement I wrote. Walking in the flesh is fulfilling the desires or the sowing of the flesh. Walking in the spirit is fulfilling the desires or sowing of the spirit. Now look up there in Galatians in chapter five and look in verse 25.

If, if, we live in the spirit, that’s where God sees you. That is your position in Christ. Let us also walk in the spirit so it’s not automatic. It’s the choice that you make. You see, this is where God sees you as his child. But you may choose to walk after the flesh. Not God doesn’t see you in the flesh, but you can walk after the flesh after these desires. And God says, if you love the things of the world, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life, then you’re gonna walk in the flesh.

But God says He wants us to love Him. And if we love Him, then we seek those things that please Him. This is seeking those things that please me. So it’s either Him or me. And all of your life, you’re making decisions. Do you want to please Him? Or me. And if you walk in the flesh, God says he’s going to have to, what’s that word? Chasing ya. You ever got a woman? I asked a lady yesterday, I says, ma’am, how long’s it been since you had a good woman?

I was this close to wanting to give her one. No it was not my wife. No. If somebody else’s. Anyway, we’ll move right along. In Galatians in chapter six, in verse one he says, brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fall, that means you know a person who is walking in the flesh, ye which are spiritual, you are walking in the spirit, you’re walking in obedience to God, and somebody else is not walking in obedience to God. Not all of God’s children obey the Lord.

Wouldn’t it be neat if we all did? There’s times in our Christian life as we grow that we’re here and here and here and here and here. And even though you’re sitting here today, that spiritual giant, is it still possible that the more you could be walking into flesh? You can even be doing it right after the church. If you’re sitting church and you’re so holy, just feel so clean and holy. And then you get in the car and you’re going home with your wife and she says, where do you want to eat?

Oh, I don’t care. Wherever you want. Okay, let’s go to Nick’s. I don’t want to go there. Okay, wherever you want to go. No, I don’t know wherever you want to go. Okay, we’ll go down here to Village Inn. You know I hate Village Inn and before they can get five mouths, they didn’t have a war. And all the godliness is gone. They’re hating each other. You ever get up on Sunday mornings and you have to beat the kids half to death, get ready for church?

All kinds of things. And then you say, I don’t have a sinful nature. Everybody else knows you do. You might as well be honest and admitted. And so the Lord tells us, if you live in the Spirit, let’s also walk. This is what God wants us to do. He wants us to walk in obedience to Him. So down at the bottom in chapter 6, He says, seek to restore such a one in the spirit of meeting us, considering yourself because you wouldn’t take much for your walk in the flesh, right?

When you started cutting in criticizing somebody else for following, you fell in the mud. You fell in the mud. Just fell in the mud. You’d be surprised how fast you can fall. That’s why God says love one another. If you love one another, you try to pick them up, try to help them. Love covers a multitude of sin. In other words, you’re not trying to just expose the person. You’re trying to help the person. Did you say that person over there?

You didn’t say them. Let me tell you all about it. I wouldn’t gossip about anybody unless it was good. And this is good. And this is just for prayer. This is just for prayer. We just write how much sin is just for prayer. Some people just can’t control themselves. But anyway, all this is important and needs to be done. Now Galatians in chapter six and verse eight talks about sowing to the flesh, sowing to the spirit. That’s what I’m talking about.

It’s the same principle. Just follow all the way through and you’ll find that the book of Galatians is a tremendous book on the Christian life, on the spiritual life, so that you understand what God wants you to do. Now look up here. This hand represents you and me. The wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. Now God, He loves us but He hates what we do wrong. And everybody is a sinner. We’ve all done things wrong. But God loves us.

I don’t care how bad you’ve been, God still loves you. He just doesn’t like what you do wrong. We love our kids but we don’t like like what to do wrong. Well, I think my dad loved me, but I’m not real sure. But I know God knows, and to pay for sin is eternal separation from God, and we’re all condemned. So we’re all in the same boat. To go to heaven, we have to be perfect as righteous as God, none of us are perfect, none of us are righteous.

We’ve all done things wrong, and God says, you cannot earn eternal life, you cannot work your way to heaven, we’re already condemned. He, that believe if not, is condemned already. So how are you going to get to heaven? God says you can’t earn it. You can’t work for it. It’s not a works. It’s not because you’re going to be good. Not from this day forward. If you could live a perfect life, you still can’t make it. You’ve already messed up.

This is… Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, He’s the Lord God in the flesh. Came into the world because He loves us. Hates our sin because our sin separates us from Him. So Jesus Christ who had no sin didn’t have to die. So he took all the sin of all the world and paid for it on the cross came back from the dead And he says the only thing you have to do is the only thing you can do Is where you believe that he did it for you if you believe he did this for you Because he did, because he didn’t want you to do it.

He said, I’ll put this payment to your account and you can go to heaven on what I did. God will not make you or force you to go to heaven. He’s not going to make you do it. It’s your choice. You can believe he loves you or he can believe that he doesn’t. You can believe he paid for your sins or I believe it at all. And nobody can make you believe that. I can’t get ahold of God and bring him down here and say, here he is.

I don’t know what it’s going to take for some people to believe it. All I know is if I didn’t believe it, I wouldn’t have eternal life and I wouldn’t go to heaven. I want to go to heaven. I don’t want to go to hell. So if all I had to do was believe that he did it for me because he loved me, I can handle that. So I trust he crisis my Savior and he says he puts this payment to my account.

I have a payment for my sins. I don’t have any sins to pay for. I can’t go to hell. I can’t go to hell the day or tomorrow or any time in the future because I have a payment for all of my sins. He loved me that much, gave it to me as a free gift. Instead, if I believed it, he would give me eternal life and I go to heaven on what Jesus Christ did for me. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son.

The whosoever, believe it, should not perish, but have everlasting life. Let’s pray, shall we? We’re headed down nice and close, no one looking around. If you’ve never trusted Christ as your savior, friend, would you do that right now? Would you trust Him as your only hope of going to heaven? And I’m gonna ask in just a moment for a raise a hand, raising your hand doesn’t save you. It just lets me know that what I’ve said made sense to you and you said, preach to that made sense to me.

And today I will accept Jesus Christ as my savior. I’m not gonna have you forward. Wouldn’t embarrass you for the world. But I’d like to know and I’d like to have prayer for you. Is there anywhere at all? So yes, pray for me. I will accept Christ as my savior right now. Would you just flip your hand up very quickly better write that down. It’s doing it all. It’s doing it all. Yes, God bless you, buddy. Anyone else? You can put it down.

Anyone else? If you’re watching by internet, same goes for you right where you are. But on the screen, it says, yes, I’ll trust Christ. It’s my Savior. And if you will, we’d love to hear from you. Our Father, we thank you so much for all you’ve done for us. And as your children, we are your children. We We do have the Holy Spirit. We are going to heaven. We have been saved by grace and grace alone. And follow we ask your blessings upon each one here, especially the one that indicated on the uplifted hand that they would trust you as Savior.

We ask now Lord your blessings upon each person here as they examine their own life as a child of God. That because we are your children, we should walk in the Spirit. Father, those in our midst have been walking in the flesh. They know and I pray Lord that they would confess that to you. We know that you’re faithful and just and you forgive. So bless each one in Christ’s name we pray. Amen. Are you a new listener to Bibleline?
