Now take your Bible and turn all the way back to Romans, and when you get back to Romans, hold the place right there and look in 2 Corinthians chapter 5. 2 Corinthians chapter 5. And notice what he says in verse 1, for we know that if our earthly house, now what is the earthly house you think it is? What is this? Your earthly house. So we know that this bodies of ours is our house in which we live in on planet Earth.

We’re space creatures. We’re on a planet and we are in space And we can’t stay here without this spacesuit. And one of these days, these spacesuits are gonna give up. And we’re gonna, as it says in the 90th song, we shall fly away. But now notice, he says, if this earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. We’re gonna get a new body. So I don’t know when the rapture takes place, God automatically closes us with that new house from heaven, or we are just, get a glorified body, But it does say that this body we have will be changed in a moment, the twinkling of an eye and will be made immortal.

That means not subject to death. At this point in our lives, we’re all subject to die. And we’re all going to die. If Lord carries, it won’t be long. You realize in another five years or so, half of us could be out of here. Half of y’all could be out of here. all have all begun. God doesn’t want me yet. But notice in verse 2, for in this, in this body that yet to be redeemed, it’s been paid for, but he hasn’t taken it off the slave market of sin yet.

We have been paid for, purchased, but we haven’t been changed. And then he says, for in this week grown, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house, which is from heaven. If so be, that being clothed we shall not be found naked. Now I don’t care to be a spirit running around all, you know, what are you going to be when you get to heaven? Float around like a haint? I don’t know what a haint is, but we used to think a haint was like a ghost.

I want me a body. I just kind of got used to a body and I hope you have a body. I don’t know if we’re all just spirits in heaven. We all see each other as a spirit. I’ll tell Betty the other day. I said, I wonder what we really look like. You know, we’ve really never seen each other. You’ve seen their house they live in. But wouldn’t it be something that when you get to heaven, you don’t look anything like what you really are here?

See, you have a body. Now, if you’re going to be in heaven for all eternity and you look like you did down here, wouldn’t there be a time in your life where you thought you looked a little bit better than maybe now? Would you want to look like that? How old do you want to be when you get to heaven? How do you want to look like 85 all your life or would you like to look back when you was 30 years old?

I’ll bet you a good looking hunk when you were 30 years old. He was, he says he was. So wouldn’t that be neat? Ah, that’d be wonderful. And then he says this in verse 4, for we that are in this tabernacle do grown being burdened. For that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon that mortality might be swallowed up of life. Mortality, subject to death, but we want to be immortal. We want to have life instead of death. We don’t want to die.

We love for the rapture to take place. And this is why you’ll find this in the Word of God about the rapture and so on. But now, notice it helps. He says in verse 5, Now he that hath wrought us for the same self-thing as God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. Now, the word like that’s the part, the down payment part, he said, but the rest is yet to come. In other words, we haven’t got everything God wants us to have as His children.

Because we don’t want to live in this body forever. True. So the day will come when God’s okay now this time So whenever different ones die They’re just getting that new body that God promised them So it’s death that bad You finally are getting that new body. You’re not burdened anymore and you’re not grown anymore and It’s just that you know, it’s just like a change you got to go through to get it You don’t want to do that do you?

You want to get the body, but you don’t want to hurt, right? Yeah, no. So this is why he says in verse eight, therefore, we are always confident knowing that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. See many people, special Jehovah’s Witnesses don’t believe that you’re anything other than just a body.

So when your body dies that’s the end of you. That’s it. But that’s not all there is. I had one of them tell me, said well you can’t show me in the Bible where you have a body’s all in spirit. I said I beg your pardon. That’s the loanings by 23. That means right there. And it just blows their mind. They think they really know the Bible. No they don’t really know the Bible. But this is in God’s Word and it’s so important for us to remember.

Now go back to the book of Romans. Back to Romans. And notice in verse 23 of the 8th chapter, because we’re talking about what we have to go through in these bodies, the sufferings that we’re going to go through. And so he says here in verse 23, and not only they, but ourselves also which have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption to it, the redemption of our body. And it’s not just us, but he says also his whole creation, groaneth and travaileth and pain together until now.

So this is why he says, we are heirs of God. See up here in verse 17? And if children then heirs, heirs of God. And that’s one thing, Your heirs of God. And then your joint heirs with Christ that we might be glorified with him. So the last part of that, your joint heirs with Christ, if so be that we suffer with Christ. So there’s things you get because you are God’s son and there’s also things you get because if you suffer for him, if we suffer, we’re also going to reap some glory that not just because you’re going to be changed in a moment, twig, love and I, yes, where we caught up in the glory.

But God’s going to reward those who do suffer for him. That’s why you find in verse 18 he says, for I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed. So he’s given you laid out here in the eighth chapter, you’ve got a choice. Walk in the spirit, walk in the flesh. You walk in the spirit, you’re still going to suffer in this life. But the glory that you have because of what you did and suffered for Christ, if you do it, look what God’s gonna do for you.

It will be worth it all in the long run. But one of these days it’s gonna all be over. All your opportunities are gonna be gone. So I didn’t notice what he says about the world in verse 19. For the earnest expectation of the creation itself, waited for the manifestation of the sons of God and for the creature, the creation was made subject to vanity not willingly but by reason of Him who have subjected the same in hope because the creation itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of the corruption unto the glorious liberty of the children of God.

This world is going to be changed because God is going to change His children and if If we’re going to be changed in order to have a new world, then it has to change the world. And he says, this world is going to be renovated by fire. God’s going to destroy it. It’s been reserved and to punishment until that day against ungodly men, the Bible says. So we know that all these wonderful things are going to take place. But it also gets to this thing about hope.

What you’re looking forward to means that you don’t have it now. And so if we know what’s coming and we can believe it, well then we can, with patience, wait for it. But if you have it and you can see it here and now, well there’s no reason to hope for something. And there’s no reason to have faith because to live by faith is to live not by sight. It means you can’t see it. So we can’t, we don’t yet have this happening right now, but we by faith believe it, it will.

So he says here in verse 24, for we are saved by hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For what a man seeeth. Why does he yet hope for it? But if we hope for that, we see not. Then we do with it. patience, wait for it. And that’s where faith comes in. We believe that I’m gonna get a new body. And because I know I’m going to get a new body, I can be patient and wait for it.

So Paul is saying, who shall deliver me from this body of death? Because that’s where it is with us. Oh, wretched man that I am. And we get right down to it. You don’t have to admit, even though you’re a Christian, at times you’re pretty wretched. You’re pretty wicked. You feel sometimes terrible about the way you act. You ever get that ugly feeling then you got to just say it or did something you know you shouldn’t have done. You feel so guilty and you can sometimes you can just despise yourself.

Welcome to the club. Everybody else the same way. This is why God wants us to live by faith, put your confidence in the Lord and not try to live your life trying to satisfy this old physical body that we have. Because it’s got a sinful nature and it’s only natural for it to want to be satisfied So you look at the things of the world you see what other people are doing and how they’re getting along and what they have And it seems like they’re having so much fun, and you’re just slaving away from the Lord Yeah But remember you will win you will win in the long run.

All right, but what I want you to see here Look back there in verse 8. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God, but he are not in the flesh But in the spirit, in other words, when you were a lost man, you were in the flesh, born of the flesh. You needed to be born again. So when you were born again, now God sees you as his child. He doesn’t see you in the flesh, the first birth.

He sees you in the second birth. So therefore, when you walk after the flesh, that’s in disobedience to God. That’s like living under this old man, you choose that to walk this old man’s at the mercy of the devil. Wouldn’t you rather have a spiritual walk with the Lord and be at the mercy of God and trust the Lord and all the things that you could have? This is why these things are so important. He wrote in here. Now look what he says in verse 9, but ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit.

If so be that the the Spirit of God dwell in you. So does the Spirit of God dwell in you? That very moment you trust in Christ as your Savior, you are indwelled by the Holy Spirit. Is that something you’re going to get or something you already have? You have already received the Holy Spirit. And how much of the Holy Spirit did you get? You got all of the Holy Spirit. You didn’t get a leg and then you get an arm later.

Now you get all of the Holy Spirit. Now, as some people say, you know, it’s not how much of the Holy Spirit you have, it’s how much does the Holy Spirit have of you? Does he have all of you? So here you are, your child of God, and you know that you have a responsibility to walk with the Lord. The Holy Spirit lives within you. And so he says, you are his child in verse nine. 9. Now if any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

It means if you don’t have the Holy Spirit living within you, then of course you’re not his child. You don’t have the new birth. You’ve got a new birth because you believe on Christ, then you are a child of God. And God sees you in the spirit because your new birth was a spiritual birth. You can’t see it. You still got That whole physical body, but this new birth is living inside of the spiritual body. I wish I could see an understanding explain all of this, but this is probably as foggy in my mind as it is in yours.

But now notice, he says in verse 10, and if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness. Oh, look up here, Adam’s sinned and the whole human race is sinned. And because of sin dies. That’s the condition, old man. But when you trusted Christ as your Savior because Christ is eternal life. And so when you accepted Him as your Savior, He gave you eternal life. So this is death, this is life.

Once you’re born in the God’s family, you’re always God’s child and you will live for all eternity. No end to that. And then Let us know this in verse 11. This is a good verse. But if the spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his spirit that dwelleth in you. Quicken your mortal bodies. So these bodies are not the dead bodies.

These are mortal bodies, bodies that are subject to die. So while we’re living one of these days, he’s going to quicken these mortal bodies and we’re going to be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. Now hold your place right here and look over there in the book of 1 Corinthians 15. You’ve probably never seen these verses before. First chapter 15. And we mentioned this on Sunday, but just to let you say it again. In 1 Corinthians chapter 15 talks about the first man, the flesh, second man, the Spirit.

Or first man, Adam, second man, Christ. So he says here in verse verse 47, the first man of the earth, second man, Lord from heaven. Down in verse 49. And as we have born the image of the earth, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. So we look like people down here, humanly speak. Now we’re going to look like the Lord. We’re going to get a new image. We’re going to look different. How much different? What’s the image?

This image is a perfect image. The Bible says we’re created in His image Christ in righteousness mentioned in chapter 4 of the book of Ephesians. But now notice in verse 50, now this I say, brethren, flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God. So this physical body that we have cannot inherit eternity. It cannot inherit in corruption. Flesh and blood cannot do that. You see, you can’t go from a rock to a plant. a break there that it cannot pass.

A rock can never become a plant. A plant can never become an animal. And an animal can never become a person. And a person can never become spiritual. So, these are impossible to make happen. God did this. So, our spiritual life has to come from He who gave life. The flesh cannot give you the next highest realm, produce it. It cannot do it. The flesh cannot give that to you. The flesh and blood cannot inherit something because it’s mortal.

And that’s why when you trust Christ as you say, you can inherit whatever your Father has because you’re his child. So he makes a statement, neither death corruption inherit in corruption. So in verse 51, behold I show you a mystery. We shall not all sleep or not all die, but we shall all be changed. These are talking about believers who are going to be changed when the Lord comes in a moment because they’re mortal. They haven’t died yet. So they’re going to be changed.

When it talks about the corruptible, that’s those who have already died and they’re going to put on incorruption and those that are alive, mortal, subject to death, they’re going to put on immortality. So they’re going to be changed. And he says in verse 52, In a moment in the twinkling of an eye at the last trump, For the trumpet shall sound the dead shall be raised incorruptible. That’s the dead body. And we that are still alive mortal shall be changed.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, And this mortal must put on immortality. Now when this is done, when this is done, Then will be brought to pass the sayings about O death. Where is thy sting or thy victory? So look at this in verse 54. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting?

O grave, where is thy victory? Because even though we have the sting of death, there’s people who will not die. And those who have died, there’s still going to be death over the grave because they’re going to come back again from the grave. But when is that going to be fulfilled? If all this has got to work together and you’ll find out, it has to do with the rapture. See, that’s why he says here in verse 57, But thanks be to God which give us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ When this is brought about and this victory is going to take place is when at the last trump We shall be changed in a moment the twinkling of an eye then We’ll be brought to pass.

That’s when we have our victory. So the rapture is going to take place. Don’t if we die, if some of y’all die, y’all, then your bodies are in the graves. And some of us that are still alive, us, when the Lord comes back, are going to be changed. And then we’ll be brought to pass the saying about the victory, the change. And it’ll be fulfilled just like God had promised. Therefore, if all of us are in the grave, and some of us are in the grave, we’ll be brought to pass the same.

And then we’ll be brought to pass the same about the victory, the change. And it’ll be fulfilled just like God had promised. this is true. And.* I believe that it is. That’s why he says, because this is the truth and we are growing in these bodies. We have the hope that one day we’re going to leave these old bodies and a wickedreport thatrahim willNVIDIA not be true anymore. We will no longer have this body and this so sinful desires and lust that lead us astray and ruined our lives, we’re going to be perfect.

And that’s why he says in verse 58, therefore my beloved brethren, he says, Be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord. So that you know, until that day, your labor for the Lord is not in vain. Don’t allow the lust of the flesh to ruin your life. Don’t chase after the dreams of the places of the world. Always seek to put the Lord first.

Always do right. Always do right. And you will win if you do. Now we got just a couple second, but go back to the book of Romans. And chapter 8, I’m looking verse 14, for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Now I’ve had some people say that those who are led by the Spirit of God, they are the maturing sons of God. Now whether that’s true or not, I don’t know, it doesn’t sound bad to me, it sounds pretty good.

But I do believe that it has another meaning here when it says, for as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. It’s just a plain out statement. Look up here. These that are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God. It’s a statement. Nothing wrong with the statement. And the new birth is not led by the flesh. The flesh birth cannot cause the new birth to sin. If it can, it doesn’t do us any good.

But it can’t sin. So therefore is that I am making the decision to live in the flesh, and I’m letting the flesh control my life. And there’s consequences, natural consequences. And you’re going to reap what you sow it. And if you sow wild oats, you’re going to reach them wild oats, and they’re going to like the consequences. And that’s why he says, be not deceived, God is not mocked, whatsoever man soweth, that shall he also reap. And that’s not written to the lost man, that’s written to the saved man, written to the believer.

So we have in verse 15, for ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear. In other words, what God doesn’t want is for the new man to think as you as an individual with these two nature, don’t think you can please God by walking into flesh. That’s rebellion to God. And when you walk into flesh, you’re putting yourself back under bondage, you’re placing yourself back under this old man. And why should a Christian live like a lost man?

Why should a Christian live like a lost man? You can understand why lost people do it, but now you’re a believer and you have the Holy Spirit living within you in order to give you the power that you need to live for the Lord. Now it’s a struggle as you learn how to walk and you’re stumbling and falling as a baby in Christ and you got to learn. So that’s why all of this is so important. So he says there, his spirit in self or itself bear witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.

How does God spirit bear witness with our spirit that we are the children of God? Well, you’re gonna have a Holy Ghost fit. You’re gonna jump shout Newton Haller. Jews are gonna go down your spine. No. His spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. How about the word of God? See, when you read the scripture, this is written by the Holy Spirit. So his spirit who wrote the book bears witness with respect that’s how I know I’m saved because the book says the book says the book said.

How do I know that God so loved the world? Because the book says the book says the book says. How do I know how I should live where the book says? How do I know what’s wrong? Well the book says And so the Holy Spirit bears with you. You read and study the Bible. Always agree with God. Always agree with what he said. You don’t trust your judgment. Agree with what God says. Always see everything through the eyes of scripture, through the eyes of the Word of God.

Look up here. This hand represents you and me and the wall of represents sin. We all have sin upon us. Now this is what we call the old man. This is the lost man. This is the child in the flesh. Now this is the person has an old sinful nature and that’s why we sin and that’s why we’re condemned. But God loves us once us to go to heaven. He ain’t gonna love our sin. He doesn’t love our sinful nature, but he loves us.

But he wants us to have eternal life. But we can’t have eternal life. We can’t go to heaven because we’ve got a debt to pay. That debt is eternal, separation from God. So how are we ever going to get to heaven? Well, by your works you can’t. The flesh cannot deliver the flesh. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God and the flesh came into the world because He loves us. Hays our sin because our sin separates us from the Lord.

So Christ who had no sin didn’t have to die. He took all the sin of all the world, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead. Said that if we would believe He did it for us, He’d put this payment to our account and we’d get to go to heaven on what Jesus Christ did for us. And when you believe that, God gives you a new birth because it’s like this death paid all of your sins, this old man, well he died.

Christ took my place and died in my place, so I have a death. So when I trusted Christ as my Savior, his death became mine and then his life became mine. He gave me his life. And that’s why it’s eternal life. As he says in 1 John chapter 5, this is the true God and eternal life. He that hath the son half life, and he that hath not the son of God hath not life. So whether you have eternal life or not, depending on whether you got the son or not.

You have the son, you got eternal life. And when he said, I’ll never cast you out, I’ll never leave you. That’s why you can’t leave or lose eternal life. It’s him. Eternal life is Christ. But anyway, it’s a wonderful thing to know that you have eternal life and know that you’re going to heaven when you die. Last week, Sunday night, as soon as I got through and we went down to the village and my phone and somebody trusts the Lord from listen Sunday night.

So even though you may have all trusted Christ’s Savior, there was somebody watching that just trusts the Lord. And that happens just about every week, just about every message. So we never know who is going to trust the Lord, but I think it’s the greatest thing in all over them. Let’s pray shall we? We’ll hit bow nice clothes and no one looking around. If you’re here tonight and have never trusted Christ’s your Savior, the only thing you have to do to go to heaven is trust the Lord.

Believe that when he died, he died for you. He paid for your sins. And if you’ll believe he did it for you, he would give you as a free gift everlasting life. I pray that you trust him. Then if you’re watching by internet tonight, there’s nothing that you have to do except believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. That means you’re trusting what he did. He did it for you. And if you trust him, he said he would save you and give you the free gift of everlasting life.

I pray that you will. Our Father, we thank you again for your blessings. Thank you for all you’ve done for us. And thank Thank you for this time together to study your Word. And we just pray that you will be done in all these things. Thank you for watching over some blessings in Christ’s name, Amen. Are you a new listener to Bibleline?
