In verse 16, and he saw that there was no man wondered that there was no intercessor. for his arm, which is Christ, brought salvation unto him, and his righteousness, it sustained him. For he put on righteousness as a breastplate. So this is where we get our robe of righteousness because God had a righteous servant who would come into the world, and you’ll see more of that in the book of Isaiah 53 that he is to justified many. So he prophesied this.

So in verse 19 he talks about raising up a standard and you’ll see there in verse 19 so shall they fear the name of the Lord from the West and his glory from the rising of the Sun when the enemy shall come in like a flood and the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. Now I believe that there is a reference here to Jesus Christ because verse 20. Now verse 20 is part of the verse that’s quoted in the book, Galromas in chapter 11.

And the redeemer shall come to Zion. And unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob saith the Lord. Now, when you turn from transgression for salvation, the only thing you can do is because of the belief. When you believe In Jesus Christ, his righteousness, God’s, is put to your account. And so he makes his statement in verse 21. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord. My spirit that is upon thee and my words, which I have put in thy mouth, will not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seeds, seed.

Sayeth the Lord from henceforth and forever. Now, if he’s talking about the seed, which is Christ, and the seed’s seed, which is us, I believe that he says it’s forever. We are, and I believe this teaches eternal security. Once you’re saved, you’re always saved. You’re always a child of God. But it’s also a reference to the prophecy concerning the nation of Israel about what God has said and what God has promised and what He is going to do. So now in chapters 60 it talks about Zion, a rise shine for thy light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.

And then he says here, a rise in verse 2, verse 3. Now we’re talking about in the book of Romans in chapter 11, we’re talking about the Jews and the Gentiles and the Gentiles shall come to thy light. The light is Christ. Now this is mentioned in the book of Isaiah chapter 12. You’ll see it also mentioned in the book of Matthew where it talks about the light to the Gentiles. There’s only one person that the Gentiles have ever accepted as a prophet from the nation of Israel has been Jesus Christ.

There is no other one, but the Bible prophesied that in the Old Testament. So therefore I believe this is what he’s talking about. Well we’re right here in in the Old Testament. Look there in the book of Joel chapter 2. Joel chapter 2. Joel chapter 2. Look there on page 932. I don’t know. And you’ll notice in verse 30. This is on page 932. Looking verse 30. Now this is mentioned in the book of Acts in chapter 2, but also it’s mentioned right here.

Verse 30, and I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood and fire and pillows of smoke. This is the day of the Lord. This is at the end of the tribulation period when these things are going to take place right before Jesus Christ himself comes in power, glory to the earth and every eye is going to see him. And so he says, here the sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood and you’re the underline this one the Lord before the great and terrible day of the Lord comes.

So the Lord is going to come and it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered or shall be saved. And And this is what’s happening in the book of Romans when God made these promises, don’t think for a moment God is not going to keep His word. The nation of Israel is yet to see the Lord and to believe on Christ. And so I believe that is coming. Now go back to the book of Romans in chapter 11.

through this portion of Scripture, you’ll see some verses that really makes it clear about the gospel and about grace. Now you look there and you’ll see in verse 27, for this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. And the only their sins are taken away because there was a payment made and they had to believe on that payment. You cannot just take that verse and take it out of there, you got to leave it in his context because it’s because they believed on the Lord Jesus Christ.

And then he says there in verse 28, as concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sake, but as touching the election the way God chooses is by grace. They are beloved for the Father’s sake. God still loves the Jewish people, wants the Jewish people to be say, Paul wanted the Jewish people to be saved, but they can only be saved if they will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. Some will, some won’t. But the day is coming when they as a nation will accept the Lord.

And I believe that’s what he’s talking about. Now look what he says there in verse 29, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. God does not changes mine. When you trust Christ as your Savior, He promised to give you the gift of eternal life. He can never take it away. He can’t change his mind later. And you hear so many people talking about, well, you know, if you do this, you lose it. No, you can’t lose it.

The gifts and the calling of God are without repentance. God doesn’t change his mind. And the way God calls, as we’ve read and studied throughout the book of Romans and in chapter 9 especially that God calls by the gospel faith coming by hearing and hearing by the word of God and so people must hear the gospel and believe on Christ and when they do they will have the free gift of everlasting life. Now notice what he says there in verse 34 as ye in time pass have not believed the Gentiles in time passed did not believe yet have now obtained mercy.

Why did they obtain mercy? Because they now believe. When you believe it, you have it. Now get this. When he makes the statement yet have they now obtained mercy through their unbelief. The Jewish people did not. So God sent to the Gentiles and we have a special dispensation of grace. and Israel has been set aside. And now the Gentiles, all of the world, all of the nations, Jerusalem, Israel could have been the life to the world, but they blew it.

So God set them aside because of their rejection of the Messiah, their unbelief as a nation, but a remnant individual can still be part of the body of Christ. And so he says in verse 31, even so have these also now. What’s the reason? Look at what he says, not believed, even so these also not believe that through your mercy, they also may obtain mercy. We are trying to reach the Jewish people. I’ve been Israel six times, Hank’s been there what 15 times?

Hank loved the Jewish people. Now when Ray was down in Florida, down in Miami, he will always, you’d be thinking, he’s got some Jewish people there because a lot of Jewish people used to come to here, here Ray, and he was always using prophecy and so forth to try to get the Jewish people to trust the Lord. But we are now because of God’s grace toward us. Now we’re trying to reach them, but the day will come when we’ll be taken out of here and the Jewish people will see the Lord and believe on Christ as a nation will be born in a day.

So he says here in verse 32, and you’ll see parts of this verse mentioned back there in the book of Romans in chapter 3. When he talks about this thing of we have concluded all under sin that you might be justified by faith and faith alone. Romans 3 28. So here he’s making the statement for in verse 32. God hath in your underlying has concluded them all in unbelief that he might have mercy upon how many. All? So it’s still in context with the things he’s mentioned in chapter 9 and in chapter 10 that God has chosen to save those who will believe.

But he couldn’t just save them unless he paid for all of their sins. So that’s why Christ had to come to fulfill the will of God. Because God preached before the gospel unto Abraham’s saying that the heathen would be justified by faith. And whosoever would believe they would be blessed with Father Abraham. And how were they blessed? Because Abraham found out that he could not save himself by his works. Because if he could have been, then God would be in debt to Abraham to save him because he deserved it, which would make salvation by works.

But he says, Abraham be lead God. And it was counted unto him for righteousness. No works. Why didn’t Abraham have to keep the Ten Commandments and the golden rule and all those things? they hadn’t been given yet. The golden rule wasn’t given until Christ gives it in Matthew. Moses gave the law for 130 years after Abraham had already believed on the Lord in Genesis 15 and so that’s why in Galatians in chapter 6 when he’s explaining the gospel, he says in verse 6 Abraham believed God, it was counted in him for righteousness, and this says in scripture foreseen that God would justify the heathen through faith.

This is why I’ve told you before that word foreseen. That means that God already knew, looked down through time and already made the decision he is going to save a man by grace because no man could save himself by his works. And so that cannot change how that God chose to save by grace and that he would do it through the hearing of the gospel of Jesus Christ. So those things have not changed, even though it’s been thousands of years it has not changed.

So you notice what he says here in verse 30, for God hath concluded them all in unbelief. Now if he concluded all of us have sinned, we’re all in rebious and we’re all gone our own way and all we like sheep. Therefore he says he concludes that a man is justified by faith and faith alone through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus in Romans in chapter 3 verse 24. So as you read this he might have mercy upon all.

Does God want to save everybody? But he’s determined that He will save only those who believe on Jesus Christ. They must believe, they must believe. Just turn your page back to the left just a little bit. And you’ll notice what He says there in chapter 11. Look what He says in verse 5. Even so then at this present time, also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. They didn’t earn it, they didn’t work for it, but because God chose to save.

That’s how God chose an individual to save a person by grace. And there’s individuals, even though the nation is a whole reject at him, individuals can trust Christ as their Savior. And that’s why in verse 6, and if by grace then it is no more of works. Otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace. Otherwise, work is no more work. So all this is about believing the gospel. Look there in chapter 10, just to kind of give you a little review.

Look what he says in verse 16, for they have not all obeyed the gospel for Isaiah. Quoting again from the Old Testament, Lord who hath believed our report. Now where is that verse found? It just happens to be found right there in the book of Isaiah 53 that talks about Christ. And that’s why he starts off Lord who hath believed our report and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed. talking about the Son Christ, the power of God.

He comes, He is revealed, He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant. So this is when Christ came into the world and the seed was planted and he grew up as a tender plant. And this tender plant is the only plant that ever brought forth the fruits of righteousness. Now when you read Matthew in chapter 3, he says he’s going to lay the axe to the root of the tree. Means you’re going to cut down every tree that doesn’t bring forth the fruits of righteousness.

So that would include how many people. Every person. That’s why everybody dies. And there’s only one that was ever born into this world that didn’t have to die. He was called a green tree. Means he did nothing to deserve death. He would have never died. And you’ll find that later on in the Gospels when he talks about him as a green tree. I preached a whole summer one time on the green tree and it wasn’t the Christmas tree, it was not the tree.

So here in the Romans, nobody says in verse 16, they have not all obeyed the gospel for Isaiah said, Lord who hath believed our report. So then faith comeeth by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. So that’s why we hear the gospel and we confess to others and we tell them the gospel. just look what he says right there in verse nine of chapter 10. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart, God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

When? Right now. Not later, right now. And that’s why he says in verse 10, for with the heart man, believe it under righteousness. So how do you get the righteousness of God? As you go through Romans, you’ll find out, He talked about the righteousness of God. How do you get the righteousness of God? Believing. Believing. How is it made known? The word is nighy, even in thy mouth. So when we confess that, people can hear that and they can believe the gospel.

So we’re supposed to see that every person hears the gospel one way or the other and they can trust Christ as their Savior. So now look there in chapter 11 in verse 1, half God cast away His people which He foreknew. No God forbid, for I am an Israelite, Paul says, evidently not, I’m a Jew, and I’m saved, I have eternal life, I’m going to heaven. In verse 2, have God cast away His people which He foreknew? So God had already determined, as he says to Abraham, that God foreknew, would justify the heathen through faith.

So God had already decided how he was going to justify personal life. So that’s why he had to send his son into the world to take all the sins of all the world upon himself so that God, the Father, could keep the promise that he made. Jesus had never come. God could not keep us a promise because there had to be a redeemer. Somebody has to come and pay the sin dead. And there’s only one that qualified and that just happened to be the Lord Jesus Christ.

So he came and he made that payment on the cross so that we could have eternal life. So why were the Jewish people ever set aside? Why were they, you know, well there’s a reason for it. Look there very quickly in verse 20. Well because of, well slap my mouth, what does it say? Because of unbelief they were broken up. And thou standeth by faith. You had believed they did not. So that’s why he says in again in verse 22, Behold therefore the goodness and the severity of God on them which fell severity, but unto thee goodness.

If thou continue in his goodness, otherwise thou shalt also be cut off.” In other words, as a Gentile, the day will come and it may be a fall in the way. It may be like it says in the book of Revelation about the Church of Leo Decia. It may be that when Christ made the statement, when I come, will I find faith upon the year? I don’t I don’t know the limits of it. I just know that we’re standing only because We put our faith in Christ and we are part of the body of Christ, but that day will end.

It could end today, but I don’t know when, but when the fullness of the Gentiles come in, then there will be the rapture will be taken out of here. Seven year tribulation upon the earth where God really lays it on Israel and God will use the nations of the world to come after Israel. They’ll make a peace tree for seven years. But after three years, they break the peace treaty, and then all the nations will try to destroy Israel.

And they’ll gather together in the plains of Jezreel, right outside of Megiddo, and the plains there, and O and Behold, Israel be annihilated. If God doesn’t come back, well, guess what happens? He does. And power and great glory, and every eye will see Him, and they will gather themselves together for this battle of Armageddon. And the Jewish people in chapter 13 of Zachariah says, where did you get these scars in your hands? He said, I got those the first time I came.

Don’t you remember? Well, it didn’t say quite like that, but it says what it means. And Israel will be saved as in a day. And then God’s going to set up the kingdom upon this earth. Be the greatest thing in all the world. But notice this last thing here. I I want you to see that. Look there in verse 33 of chapter 11. All the debts and the riches, both of the wisdom and the knowledge of God. How unsearchable are his judgments and his ways past finding out.

You’ll never figure it all out. When you think you’ve got to figure it out, you need to just humble yourself. You don’t. Because here’s the Lord. When he had the plan of salvation, Did he ask you for your advice? Did he bring you in there and ask you for some counsel and says, God, you know, I just don’t know what I’m going to do. I need some help. Who hath known the mind of God like that? So he says in verse 33, for who hath known the mind of the Lord?

How that God planned and did everything. If God did not tell us, we would never know. there’s a verse that says this, I have not seen ear have not heard neither has entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for them that love us. Then the very next verse is, but God hath revealed them unto us by spirit. Yeah the spirit sure to follow things you the deep things of God. But what things north the things of a man said the spirit of man which is within him?

So God gave to us his spirit so that his spirit could teach us the mind of God. This is the mind of the Lord written on paper. So as you study the Bible you’re studying the mind of God and God says a lot of things. Isn’t it nice for you and I to know the thoughts, the what God thinks? And if you read 139th Psalm talks about his thoughts about us are numerous. Just think God went to bed last night thinking about you.

He got it this morning thinking about you or did he go to bed? I always thought, you know, if God never slumbers and sleeps, there’s no sense, both of us, stand awake at night. I like that. Just like that. Now look what he says in verse 33, or who hath first given to Him? And it shall be recompensed unto Him again. What does God owe you? God has freely given to us all things, is not in debt to us.

Now look in verse 36, for of him and through him and to him are all things to whom be glory for ever. For of him we receive and through him we serve and to him we bring glory are all these things to whom be glory for ever and ever and ever and ever. God had a wonderful plan. Aren’t you glad you’re part of it? You are included. He included me. He included you. I think there’s a song that somebody wrote about that.

I’m so glad he included me. Something like that. I can’t remember the words of it. But anyway, look up here. This hand represents you and me. The wallet represents sin. Everybody in the world has sinned against God. So God says, we have concluded that all are guilty. The whole world is guilty before God. And that because we have all sinned, we’re all condemned. But God loves us, wants us to go to heaven. To go to heaven, we have to be perfect as righteous as God, and none of us are perfect, none of us are righteous.

We’ve all come short of God’s perfection so that no man can save himself. We need a Savior. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. He came into the world because He loves us. Hates our sin because our sin separates us. Remember Isaiah 59. Verse 1 and 2, separates us. I can’t get to him. He can’t get to me because there’s a barrier. So what Christ did, if he did anything for any of us, he had to do it for all of us.

Because God doesn’t pick and choose. God has no favorites. God doesn’t love one person more than another. He can’t. So he loves the whole world. So Christ, who had no sin, didn’t have to die. die. So he took all the sins of all the world. This is our redeemer. He came and paid for our sins and came back from the dead. And the only thing he wants you and I to do to go to heaven is the believe that he did it for us.

So when you believe he did it for you, he gives to you the free gift of everlasting life. His righteousness, we go to heaven on what Christ did for us, not what we do for him. Salvation is truly the gift of God. Let’s pray, shall we? Every head bowed and every eye closed, no one looking around. If you hear tonight and you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, remember you can hear about this all your life. But you individually, you must trust the Lord.

Your parents can’t do it for you. The church can’t do it for you. Doesn’t matter if you’re a Jew or Gentile or a footwash, you never originally. Whatever you are, God loves you and for your sins. Just realize the only thing you have to do is the only thing you can do because if you can’t earn it, how can you get there? It has to be given to you and it has to be free. So God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, the whosoever.

Believe it in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. So whosoever would believe that He died and paid for their sins, He would put that payment to their account and they get to go to heaven or what Christ did for them. I pray that you will do just that. But His bottom line is closing. No one looking around and is there anyone at all say yes that may sense to me and tonight I will accept Jesus Christ as my Savior may have heard about it but maybe you’ve never done so and if you will I’d like to have prayer for would you just slip you in it very quickly but right back down you want it all not gonna have you forward not gonna embarrass you if you’re watching by internet right on the screen says yes I will trust Christ as my Savior

I pray that you will father thank you again for your blessings thank you for all you’ve done for us. We’re so thankful that the gifts and the callings are without repentance. You mean what you say. You made promises. You keep your word. And we’re so glad that when you said these things have I written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God that you can know you have eternal life, then we can know we have eternal life.

And that you do love us and that you did pay for our sins, we can know that. And that we don’t have to pay for them because you did. Follow us, we ask your blessings upon each one here. Bless those that are watching by internet. We pray to Lord concerned all the things that needs to be done. And for the ranch tomorrow night and also Lord for the Friday night so when in, a lot of things that are needed.

We just commit all these things to you. And we ask your blessings upon those that are depending on coming to college. Open up the doors for them, pray that there needs to be met, and help us to pray and encourage and help them all that we can. In Christ’s name we pray, Amen. Are you a new listener to Bible Eye?
