Look at point number two. We should establish who can be a chalagony. chalagod. If nobody is a chalagod, then how do you determine who can be a chalagod? Well, is it only a chosen few? Now some people teach that God, through the telescope of time, has looked down to that long corridor and he’s picked out the ones he wants to be saved. And the rest of you are going to go to hell. You don’t even have a choice. They call that predestination, the teaching of Calvinism, how that God has pre-chosen, who’s going to be saved, and the rest of you don’t even have a chance.
But the Bible doesn’t teach that. Notice what he says here. Number one, God so loved only those that he chose. God so loved the what? God so loved the whole world. Every person born to the world. Everyone who is born in this world, that’s a child of the flesh. You’re not a child of God, but God still loves you. Even though you’re not his child, he still loves the whole world. And get this verse, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believe it, then him should not perish but have everlasting life.
So who can be a child of God? Well, anybody in the world. Look at number two. This is the verses found in 2 Peter in chapter 3 and verse 9, where it says, the Lord is not slack concerning his promise as some men count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Everybody to believe on the Lord. God wants everybody to God is not willing that any should perish.
So he has to be willing to do what it takes for man to be saved. So God who’s not willing that any should perish and they can’t be saved unless they can be had their sins forgiven and given a chance. So God sent his son to pay for the sins of the whole world so that everybody in the world could become a child of God. Now I was 18 years old when I became a child of God. Now you may remember the exact day, and sometimes some people don’t remember.
You can trust the Lord when you’re very young. And then as you grow up, you can’t remember the exact moment all that. Oh, you know, I believe it, I believe it. But you’ve got to know there had to be a time when you did believe it. So this should become a child of God, but I know that. Let her see at the bottom of the page here. Verse Timothy chapter two and verse four, he would have all men to be saved.
That’s what he says. Who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. So God wants everybody to know the truth. God wants everybody in the whole world to be saved. Now if that’s true, and I believe that it is true. So who can become a child of God? If nobody is a child of God, then who can become a child of God? Anybody, anybody. Look at the next page. The whole world, first John chapter two, verse two says, and he is the propitiation.
That means the satisfaction, the payment for our sins and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. Why pay for the sins of the whole world if there’s no reason for it? The reason is God so loved the world so He paid for all the sins of the world. Now think about this. Why did God pay for all the sins of the world? Because He didn’t want us to pay for them. He paid for my said, people have heard this all the Christ died on the cross, paid for all the sins of the world.
Where are you going to die? I don’t know. Well, think about this. If Jesus died on that cross to pay for all the sins of the world, why? Because he didn’t want me to do it. But why did he do it? Because he loved me. So you can’t say nobody loves me. If there’s anybody who loves you, it’s the Lord. He loves everyone and to prove that he did, he paid for your sin so that you could have the free gift of eternal life and become a child of God.
So Christ comes back from the dead. So the only thing you have to do is the only thing you can do is where you believe that he did that for you. You mean that’s all I have to do if you believe that he did that for you now You can believe he did it for the world won’t get you to heaven you have to believe he did this for me He paid for my sins why so that I wouldn’t have to pay for them See the reason I can’t go to hell today and the reason I can’t go to hell tomorrow Is because I don’t have any sins to pay for How many of my sins did he pay for?
All of them So if I have a payment for all of my sins, there’s no sin to send me to hell. That’s why I can’t go to hell in the future I don’t have any sins to pay for. He paid for all of them and if he didn’t then I don’t have anything But this is what he did Look at number three You must establish how one is to become a child of God. How do you get to be a child of God?
You’ll notice this Why God? Chose how you must choose God chose how you must choose in other words God determined how you can go to heaven Now people got a figure out. How can a man get to heaven and so they make up their own way and Some say you have to go to church. Well, God didn’t say that you have to keep the 10 command God didn’t say that You have to give money. Oh God didn’t say that, but if you’re gonna do that do it here and no I want you to see these verses because it’s so important.
Look into Romans in chapter 9. Romans chapter 9. And notice what it says in verse 8. Verse 8. Romans chapter 9 verse 8 says, that is they which are the children of the Christ. These are not the children of God. Now look there in verse 11 as he uses an illustration here and he says something very important. In verse 11, for the children being not yet born, neither have done any good or evil that the purpose of God according to election might stand.
In other words, God has determined how He’s going to choose. Before you were born, before you did any good, before you did any bad, God had already determined how you’re going to save a person. And then notice these words, not of what? Not of works. So God, from the very beginning, already determined He’s not going to save anybody by their works. And the only thing left if it’s not by your works is what? Is grace. Grace means you don’t deserve it.
It has nothing to do with whether you did good or bad? God’s not going to save you that way. Now that’s the way people like to state it. If you’re good, you’ll go to heaven and if you’re bad, you’re going to go to hell. But the Bible doesn’t teach that. The Bible teaches there is none good, no not one. There’s none righteous, not one. All have sinned. No difference. Oh boy. And yet most of my life before I was 18, I was always under the depression that I get, put my good works on this side, and all of my bad words on this side.
And there’s going to determine which way I go, and I’d have to wait till I die to find out. Because I haven’t finished my life yet. I might be Better later on. We’re always hoping I’ll be better later on. So we saw our while Oh so I were young, but God says no that’s not the way to chose. God determined by the election of grace. This is why this verse is so important. Now get this take your Bible and look in Romans in chapter 11.
Romans chapter 11. And notice what he says here in verse 5, in verse 5, he says, even so then at this present time, there is a remnant according to the election of grace. Though the nation of Israel had rejected the Lord, there was still a remnant of people who believed in the Lord. And they were chosen because they believed in the Lord. God shows to save a person by grace, not by works. He’s not going to go to heaven because of how good he is.
And he doesn’t go to hell because how campaigner is. He’s the salvation is the gift of God. It’s free. It means unmerited. The only way you can grace from being grace means is to add work. The grace is no longer free. That’s why it can’t be. The result of anything that you and I do to earn our way to heaven as though we’re worthy. No person has ever lived. Good enough to go to heaven. To be saved by how he lived.
Never happened. God says all have sinned, all are condemned, the whole world. So Christ died for the sins of the whole world to pay for all of our sins so that all we had to do was believe it. That means you’re saved by grace. You didn’t deserve it and Believing on Christ is not a work. I’m as you I you gotta believe that’s a work. No, it’s not Romans 4 5 said But to him that worketh not But believe it on him His faith is counted for righteousness So believe in on Christ is not a work that I have to perform.
It’s me trusting what he did for me So the reason I don’t have to pay for my sins is because Christ paid for my sins. That’s why I don’t have to go to hell. Why? I had someone pay for my sins. He paid for everything and I’ve done. I deserve to go to hell. I don’t deserve to go to heaven. So mercy is me not getting what I deserve. Grace is me getting something that I don’t deserve. Mercy is not getting what I do deserve.
I deserve to go to hell but I’m going to heaven. Why? Because I’m so good. No. Because God is so good. He paid for all of my sins and gives me eternal life. Now look what he says here in verse 5. There is a remnant according to the election of grace. So there’s still individuals who trust Christ as their Savior. God saves them, gives them eternal life, even as it is today. There’s still, because of how wicked the whole world may be, they’re still individuals who cross Christ’s Savior and there’s a remnant, there’s always a remnant of believers.
“( Now notice what he says in verse 6 as he explains what Nicotine means because it is the way in which God chose to save and God only gives you a choice. It’s either by grace or by works. There isn’t any other way and he’s already told you, you can’t be saved by yourWisconsin. You can only be saved by grace. Now can you make a wise decision? There’s only one way. Can you make the right choice? There’s only one.
And most people can’t see it. Now look what he says in verse 8. And if by grace, then it is no more of works. Otherwise grace is not grace. But if it is by works, then it can’t be by grace. Otherwise, work is at work. So, God said, all the world is guilty. All the world condemned. But He died for all the sins of all the world and said, now you can’t earn it. It’s a gift, it’s free. God chose to save a person by grace.
There is no other way. Now, going back here to your notes, look at the verse. Verse 2 Thessalonians 2, 14 says, Where until he called you by our gospel? That’s how God chooses or calls us. So that’s why we give the gospel to people so they can hear the gospel and believe the gospel. This is what has permeated my mind for 56 years. After Betty’s dead, let me to the Lord. I didn’t know all the stuff was in the Bible.
I didn’t read the Bible. I didn’t sell it by. I didn’t know the Bible. But when he explained to me that night, I saw, I could say I saw the light. I saw what he was talking about. And so that night, 18 years of age, I trusted Christ as my Savior. And I thought, man, everybody needs to know this. So I figured for the rest of my life, this is all I wanna live for. There’s so many people who have never understood this.
And because I do, I want people to know it. I don’t want people to go to hell. My biggest motivator, I just don’t want people to go to hell. I want them to have eternal life. Now look what he says here. In Romans and chapter 11, even so then at this present time, there’s a remnant according to the election of grace. If I grace, it’s no more of worship, otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be a works, then it’s no more grace.
Otherwise work is no more grace. Have you ever heard of Ephesians 2, 8, and 9? For by grace are you saved through faith in that not of yourself. It is the gift of God, not of works. So is there a problem understanding what God says? He chose to save by grace, says you’re not saved by your works, and you’d be surprised how many people think you have to earn your way to heaven. Where are you going to die? Well, I hope I’m going to heaven.
Why do you hope? Well, you know, I haven’t finished my life yet. And I don’t know if I’ve been good enough. It has nothing to do with that. And that’s why if you know the truth, you have a treasure in another vessel. Look at the next statement. How do you do this? John 1 12 says, but as many as received him, as many as receive him to them gave he the power to become the sons of God or the children of God.
So you can’t become a child of God unless you accept Jesus Christ your Savior. So the moment you trust Christ as your Savior, you become God’s child. That very moment you believe. In John chapter 3, he says there was a ruler of the Jews who came to Jesus by night, Nicodemus. And he says to Jesus, he says, we know that thou art a teacher come from God, for no man can do the miracles of the thou doest except God be with him.
And Jesus says, except you be born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God. Then he says in verse five, unless you’re born again, you cannot enter into the kingdom of God. You got to be born again. You have to have a new birth. That means you’re born into God’s family. See, the first one got us into the human family, but that’s not good enough. So regardless of how good you are or how bad you are, the human family, still the human family, and all sin, all die, you’re still gonna die, and be eternally separated from God.
So he says, you must be born again. He says that which is born the flesh, flesh. The flesh birth can only give birth to the flesh. The flesh can never give birth to the spiritual birth. That’s why it’s not this old birth being revolutionized or converted. It’s the new birth born again. It means being born without a sinful nature. My first birth was born with a sinful nature. My second birth cannot receive a sinful nature because if it’s born of God, then God’s the Father.
If God’s the Father, God has no sin. This new birth has no sin. If it cannot sin, it cannot die. So the new birth will last for how long? Forever and ever and ever. So when I was 18 years old, I trusted Christ as my Savior. I became a child of God. As a child of God, I will always be a child of God. My new birth can not sin because it’s perfect. It’s this one here that gives me my problems because see, this sinful nature is in my flesh, it’s in my body.
Now I’m going to get me a new body someday and it won’t have a sinful nature. This body is going to die one of these days and I won’t have to ever worry about it. You see, this is the new birth born of God and as a child of God it cannot sin, it cannot die. So that’s why you’re his child for all eternity. And God said he’ll never cast you out. Why? Because there’s no reason you can’t sin.
He’ll never lose you. You’re his child. And God says none of his children go to hell. of God’s children can ever go to hell. Today or in the future? Because you see you have two births. This one is going to die, the flesh, but not the new birth. So important when you see that and understand that. Now look at number four. Number four you must establish, when do you become a child of God? Well someday in the future I’m going to become a child of God.
Or someday in the future I will get eternal life. When do you get eternal life? When do you get it? Well when you die then then God will give you eternal life. He that believeth on me, half, present tense, half right now, half what? Eternal life. You get it the day you trust a Christ is your savior. So look at number one up there. First John three and verse one says, behold what manner of love the father, he’s my father now.
Father has bestowed upon us that we should be called the sons of God. I am a child of God. Now, right now, I have been a child of God since 1960 when I trusted the Lord. 18 years I lived, I wasn’t God’s child. For the rest of my life, all eternity I am a child of God. I will always be a child of God. And God will never cash me out and never lose me. This is why having a father like that is wonderful.
Don’t you think that’s wonderful? Look at the next statement. 1 John 3.2 says, beloved, and look at these words, now are we the sons of God. So there was a time when we were not, now there is a time that we are, something had to take place. There had to be a time in between those two that you believed on the Lord. If you have trusted Christ as~~ your Savior, you are a child of God. God has become your Father.
And if you’re gonna honor your father, I don’t think of a better father you could ever honor than God himself That’s why we want to live and please and do everything we can The honor our heavenly father. What does what is his will for me? What does he want me to do with my life? Look at the next statement in first Peter chapter 1 verse 23 says being born again not a corruptible seed, but of incorruptible by the Word of God, which liveeth and abided forever.
See the Word of God, the truth of God’s Word, is seeds. And when you believe these seeds, and they go into your little brain and they germinate, the product lasts forever. Because see, the Word of God is incorruptible. And when you and I believe in the incorruptible Word of God, It’s incorruptible. So when you believe it, then God gives to you a new birth, a birth born by the Word of God. And if the Word of God liveth and abideth forever, then you that are born by the Word of God will live in a by forever.
So simple. Look at the next verse in chapter 1 of 24, for all flesh is as grass and all the glory of man is the flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower they’ll follow the way. All flesh, that’s this birth. This is the one that’s gonna die. It’s gonna wither. Doesn’t last forever. This birth is showing you a contract. This one lasts forever, born of God. Now notice what he says in 1 Peter in chapter 2. 1 Peter chapter 2, as new born babes desire the sincere milk of the word that you may grow there by.
Now you can’t grow by the sincere milk of the word and you can’t be a babe in Christ unlessachel were born. This little baby down here, it’s been born. Now it desires the sincere milk so it can grow. Now when you trusted Christ as your Savior, you became like a little babe. You can be 70 years old and trust Christ, you’re just a babe. You may not like that, but I’m sorry. But we’re talking about your new birth. You’re a babe in Christ, and you will always be His child.
He can’t unborn you. And the reason you can’t ever go to hell in the future because this baby was born without a sinful nature. If you would have been born a thousand times of the flesh, for the last time would not be any better than the first time. That’s why you can’t have a flash birth again. You need a new birth. Now look at the last verse down here and we quote this verse every single Sunday. We quote this verse in Galatians 3, 24, ye are all the children of God but don’t stop there.
We’re all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus we’re all the children of God. So the question is are you God’s child. If you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, you’re not His child. And if you’re not His child, you do not have eternal life. If you don’t have eternal life, you do not go to heaven. But you are going to die. Let me show you something. You’ve never seen this before. Let in His hand represent you and me.
The wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. This This is our flash birth when we’re born to the world. We have a sinful nature because of the sinful nature we sin. And because we sin we die. And the Bible says we will be eternally separated from God in a literal fire burning hell. But God loves us, wants us to go to heaven. But to go to heaven we have to be perfect, no sin. See we have to have a new birth that does away with this.
So God says you cannot earn eternal life, you can’t work your way to heaven. He says, it is the gift of God. It’s not a works. And the only reason it can be free to us is somebody has to take care of this debt we owe. See, we’re all in debt. So this hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. He came into this world. But you see, he didn’t have a sinful nature. He didn’t sin.
He lived a perfect life. And he lived a perfect life. So he didn’t have to die, but he chose to die. He could have called 10,000 angels. He is not reason for Him to die except for one reason. He loved us. So because He loves us, hated our sin because our sin separates us from Him. Jesus Christ took all the sin. Of all the world, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead. He said that if you and I would believe he did it for us, he would put that payment he made to our account.
We go to heaven. Why? Because of what he did. For by grace are you saved through faith in what he did. That not of yourselves not by your earning and working with it is the gift of God’s not of works. That’s the any man should boast. This is why it’s for everybody to become a child of God. But you have to be a child of God. child of God by faith in Christ. And if you don’t trust Him as your Savior because you don’t believe, you’ll never be a child of God.
And you can’t go to heaven when you’re done. God is already determined before the foundations of this world. He tells us how He chose to save by grace and not by works. Before anyone was born before they did any good or did evil. He already did not. So it’s no good for man to try to change what God is already made permanent. It’s the best news I ever heard my whole life. This is pray, shall we? Will every head bow every eye closed and no one looking around?
If you hear this morning and you’re not positive of going to heaven, you’re not sure. Maybe you’ve never heard or understood this before. And you say, preacher, that made sense to me. I want to go to heaven. I want to be a child of God. And I realize that I cannot be a child of God unless I trust Christ as my Savior. And right now I will accept Jesus Christ as my only hope of going to heaven. I’m not going to ask you to stand up or come forward.
I’m not going to embarrass you in any way. But with heads bowed, nice clothes, would you just talk to the Lord and say, Lord, I don’t understand at all. But I believe you did that for me. And friend, I’m going to ask you in just a moment to raise your hand because I want to have prayer for you. I want to know what I said made sense to you. It’s not to trap you. Not going to pin you against the wall.
But I’d like to know what I said made sense. You said, preach that that made sense to me and I will accept crisis right now as my Savior. And I’d like you to know that and pray for me. Would you just slip your hand up very quickly and put it right back down? Is there anyone at all? Yeah, what at all? If you’ve already trusted Christ of Savior, you’re already God’s child. But if you haven’t and you trust Christ right now, you become a child of God.
He will become your father. And there’s no father like this father. And what at all? If you’re watching by internet, same goes true for you. Right where you’re sitting. I pray that what we’ve said makes sense. And on the screen says, yes, I will trust Christ as my Savior if it makes sense to you, then let us know. Father, we are thankful so much for all you’ve done for us. Thank you for this time together. Thank you Lord for these good people.
