Once you take your Bible and turn to the book of Job, chapter 5, the book of Job, chapter 5, Some of these things I covered some time back, but I wanted to refresh your mind on a few things because it looks like all of God’s children got troubles. And sometimes it seemed like we finally got out of some troubles. And then lo and behold, you’re back in trouble again. But there’s reasons why trouble comes our way. And it’s kind of like I had just the other day, lady calls me up.

She jumped off the Empire State Building and halfway down she calls me on her cell phone and says, I just jumped off the Empire State Building. What can I do now? Can you tell me what I should do? I realize I made a mistake. Now you know, some people give me impossible chores. Trying to figure out how to solve some people’s problems. You have no idea. Some of the people that will bring to me an issue and they want me to wave a magic wand and make it all go away.

Now nobody really did jump off the Empire State Building yesterday and they really didn’t call me. But in my mind, I’m thinking that person just jumped off the Empire State Building and now they want me keep the ground from being a possible location where they’re going to plant their body and they want to you know renegotiate this thing. I’m wrong or I made a mistake and some things you have to live with. Sometimes you have to just go through it.

Now here in the book of Job in chapter 5, look in verse 7, you’ve seen these verses before but just one more time. And verse 7 says, yet man is born under trouble as the sparks fly upward, born under trouble. You are born into this world into a troubled world. And remember, the world was in trouble before you got here. Since you have arrived, all the troubles have not disappeared and you have not solved all the problems of this world.

And when you leave, this world is still going to have troubles. So, while you’re here, you’re probably not going to affect the word trouble too much. I was told don’t trouble trouble until trouble troubles you. And so you’re going to have trouble while you’re here because you’re going to be in a physical body that is limited. And you can’t do everything. You can’t solve everything. And some things you’ll just have to endure and go through it. And you wish you could find a way out of it, but that won’t happen.

But in the midst of all of these troubles, look at in verse 8, I would seek unto God and unto God would I commit my cause. So in the midst of the problems, submit yourself to the Lord, submit the cause or the trouble to the Lord, and trust the Lord to open up a door. Now look in Job chapter 14, Job chapter 14, Job 14 in look in verse 1 where it says, man that is born of a woman is two words here that start with the letter F.

Few days full trouble. See those two words? Your days are few but your troubles are many and few days are full of trouble. You are facing trouble every day of your life. There’s things to solve. That’s why we need to have the Word of God. Search the scriptures, and most of the time you’re trying to figure out a way to stay strong so that the troubles do not overwhelm you, so that you’re not drowned in despair. So you’ve always got to figure out a way how to keep your nose above the waterline so that your feet don’t drown.

I used to hear Dr. Stanford say that. People ask him, well, how you doing? Well, I’m just keeping my nose above the waterline, so I’m a feeder. Because you don’t want your feet to drown. And you know the water’s gonna come in your nose. So you’re just trying to keep your nose above the water lines. And spiritually, you’d be surprised how close you are to drowning. Because the world itself is so full of problems that sometimes it just totally overwhelms us.

Now, look in Psalms 13. It’s Psalms 13. Psalms 13. And look at verse four, there’s a good verse here. And verse four says, lest mine enemies say, I have prevailed against him. And those that troubled me, now get this, it’s a very important part of the verse. Rejoice what I am moved. There’s a song that we used to sing, I shall not be, I shall not be moved. Have you ever heard that? I shall, I shall, I shall not be moved.

Just like a tree planted by the waters, I shall not be moved. It’s a good song. I shall not be moved. The reason we studied the Word of God is so that we’ll not be moved. The purpose of the first Psalm is like planted like a tree by the rivers of waters. I shall not be moved. The world I believe and weaker Christians sometimes love to see those who are supposedly strong in the Lord moved by troubles. You and I are individuals who can have troubles and it can scare us to death at times.

You’ll never reach that place where problems will not bother you. I don’t care how many years I’ve been studying the scriptures, I still get bothered by things that probably should not bother me. But we do because we’re human and the reason is because we can’t always see why certain things happen. So you notice there in your notes, some of this will be going a little bit on the back side, but look in them very middle where I have fear may be produced by the following by what I could not see.

Because what you cannot see sometimes will scare you. Well, what do you do? Well, right out from that, trust the Lord. I am worried, afraid, because of what I cannot see. We are always struggling by living by faith when we really want to live by sight. And we can’t see how God’s going to do something. There’s the element of fear. So what I could not see since scared me. What I didn’t know and there’s things that we’re always learning and he says kind of all joy when you fall in a diverse temptation.

He says but God is working on you. And therefore because of that, he says, when you don’t know, you need some patience. He says, seek the Lord and He will give you what you need. But don’t be like a man who’s tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. He says, don’t think that man shall receive anything of the Lord. And so this is why it’s so important to how you think, how you see Look at the next statement.

What I could not do, there are things that you want to do, and maybe you like to see it done, but you find yourself limited, or you might be getting older and realize, I may be running out of time, to see a dream fulfilled. I preached sermons years ago called the death of a vision. The death of a vision. I preached at sermon not long after I preached another sermon called I have a dream and then the death of a vision of that little song I wrote the other day called I’m just living a dream that is that sometime I’m living a nightmare.

Wouldn’t it always be nice if everything was just wonderful, but it isn’t always that away. Look at the next statement. Afraid of things that you can’t control. This is sometimes what causes us to be rebellious because we can’t trust other people. It’s a difficult thing to trust somebody with something that’s very important to you. Because we always feel like I can handle this. I can handle it and then you find out I can’t handle it. And you find out you’re limited.

There’s things you don’t know. There’s a future you can’t see. There’s abilities you don’t have. And so this lack that we have causes us to have moments of fear. We become afraid. And the Bible says in the book of 1 John chapter 4 verse 19 that fear produces torment. And we can torture ourselves because of the things we can’t trust God for. I remember Dr. Seymour one time says, what are you worried about if you’ve committed to the Lord?

If you’ve committed your life to the Lord, what are you worried about? Well, he would say things in such a way to make you think. It kind of penetrates you too. And I didn’t like him always being right. You ever listen to somebody and it seemed like somebody’s untold on me and everything they’re saying is just like cutting and slicing and dicing right through the heart? Well, that’s what the word of God’s supposed to do to us and it does.

Look at the next statement. One of the biggest fears that I have are things that I can control. Seemed like it would be just the opposite. Sometimes when I think I can control this, then I don’t know if I am I trusting the Lord in that which I can control. And if I do control it, is it what God wants? Is that really what the will of God is for me? So there isn’t a problem sometime in having no money and there’s a problem of having too much money.

Did you know both take faith in the Lord to do what you’re supposed to do when you don’t have it as to what to do if you do have it? And cursed is the man who put his confidence in riches because a man who has the love of money pierces himself through with many arrows, great sorrow. So even if you have something, there is a danger that you’ll trust in the wealth that you have instead of trusting in the God of the wealth.

Because it’s amazing how God can remove the wealth and remove health and all these things that we think are so secure. We find our aren’t secure at all. The last thing I have done here is what I could not be. Except what God wants you to be. You may not be what you want, but can you be what God wants. Maybe you won’t have all that you want to have, but can you have what God wants you to have?

And can you be content with that? Now, go over to the paragraph right before this word. Every man’s experiences fear, famine, and failure. Due to not diligently searching for a, and here’s two words that are very important, correct response. You are gonna have trouble, I’m gonna have trouble. Trouble is trouble. There’s problems that you don’t always have the answers to. But do you ever try to figure out what’s causing this problem? When you have problems, isn’t the first thing you do is, why did this happen?

Why did this happen? But look at the first one. Is this trouble? Is it from God? If it’s from God, because you’re doing all the right that you know how to do. And trouble hits when you’re obedient to the Lord, then rejoice with thanksgiving. Is this trouble from the devil? If it’s from the devil, resist the devil and he will what? Flee from you. But remember, even though he may flee from you today, he’ll probably be back tomorrow. Remember, opportunity may knock you at your door once and is gone.

Temptation knocks at your door and never leaves. You’re going to deal with temptations all the days of your life. Opportunity sometimes comes on wheels, and when they come your way, they usually keep on rolling, unless you are prepared to take advantage of those opportunities. Something to think about. And the other one is this trouble because I’ve sinned against the Lord and I’m being chastened. Is that a possibility? The Bible talks about us examining ourselves. Now, it’s easy for us to examine everybody else, but to examine yourself.

And isn’t possible that some of the troubles you have is just because of the storms of life. And the Lord didn’t have to send it. The devil didn’t have to do it. And believe it or not, it might not be because you’re living in sin. is that you’re living in a sinful world and the problems are going to come and you are going to have all these difficulties. So you learn that. Now I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of Jeremiah chapter 17.

Jeremiah, turn to the Old Testament, the book of Jeremiah chapter 17. We’ve looked at this verse many times before but I think it’s good to look at it, have one more time because you’ve no doubt have heard these verses. You’ve marked them in your Bible when a person is rebellious to the Lord. No, disobedient. He says they’re in verse 4, and thou even thyself shall discontinue from thine heritage that I gave thee, and I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou know it’s not, for you have kindled a fire in mind, anger which shall burn forever.

Do you think it’s possible for God’s people here, of course Israel? Because of their rebellion to the Lord, it already taken the northern ten tribes. Now you’re going to take Judah and you would think that they would listen and learn. See what happens to somebody else and well I’m not going to do that, but then they do the same thing and God was furious. So God said, I’ll bring the enemies and that’s what he did and they paid a great price.

Looking verse 5, thus saith the Lord, cursed be the man that trusted in man and you trust in man and this is why I said things that you can control could be a big problem and you know that sometimes There’s things you can’t control. These lies beyond your power to do anything about. So try to discern the difference. The reason you study the scriptures is to learn discernment right from wrong. Notice what else he says here. He says in verse six, for he shall be like heat in the desert, shall not see when good cometh.

You ever seen people say, you know, just seem like certain people have all the luck. I never have any luck. It’s like watching Jack Nicholas, you know, play golf. He seemed like he has all the luck. That ball just happened to bounce the right way. That just happened to go in. Men, as he fortunate, but that was all luck. It’s amazing that the people who develop better skills have more luck. Every once in a while, yes, there’ll be somebody who will accidentally put the ball on the hole, and not because they’re so skilled because it was just fortunate that that happened.

But I’ve been watching that long enough that I know that some people have more luck when they have more skill. So when you’re talking about you as a child of God, you’d be surprised a spiritual person sees opportunities where other people don’t see them. And they’ll take advantage of opportunities because they see them and they’re prepared, and then a little people say, well, nothing like that ever happens to me. I’ve told stories over the years, and I’ve had people say, I wish some stories like that would happen for me.

They do. You just don’t discern it. You just don’t see it. And you’d be surprised how good God has been to you, but you don’t tell the story, tell the story of what God’s done for you. And He might give you some more. And if you’ll brag on Him here, He might just give you another good one to brag about. But if you don’t give God to credit the honor, the glory that’s due Him, He could just cause things to dry up.

I believe that’s what he’s talking about here, because of the heat, because of the desert. They can’t see when good things do happen. Then look what he says in verse 7, blessed is the man that trusts us in the Lord and whose hope the Lord is. And he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreadeth out his roots and so forth. Heat comes, he still is able to survive. The leaves are still green. In other words, a person who’s still strong in the Lord.

Regardless of the troubles that come, you’re to maintain a certain amount of faithfulness, not be moved, stay strong in the Lord. And then look in verse nine, the heart, the old man. Your old sinful nature is deceitful above all things, desperately wicked and who can know it? In other words, you never know because it deceives what it’s going to do next. And how’s it going to lie to you? Deceive you. I want to destroy you. So, where I have in your notes there under Jeremiah chapter 17, We should fear the heart of man.

There’s anything you should fear is the heart of man. That old nature you have. Because you never know at what moment he’s gonna jump up and get a hold of you and cause you to be so afraid. And because of that fear, you’re gonna say or do something, you’ll wish you hadn’t had done. So out from that little note, I put the old man, made you see me. The old man made you see me. Remember, that’s your flesh. He’s going to lie to you, deceive you.

That old man you have is just like the devil living with you. It’s like walking around all day long with the devil living inside of you because you have an old sinful nature that’s exactly like the devil’s nature. So you can’t blame everything on the devil. have an old sinful nature that’s corrupt, that’s sinful, that’s wicked, desperate, living inside of you, and he’ll tell you anything you want to hear, and he’ll lead you astray. So if there’s anything that I fear, I fear my old man because I may not keep him subdued well enough.

And he’d be surprised how he can jump up and get a hold of you. Turning your Bible to the book of Jeremiah chapter 5. Jeremiah in chapter 5, Jeremiah 5 and notice there in verse 22. Now we know everybody here probably has heard of a guy named Al Gore. Anybody ever heard of Al Gore? He invented the internet. He says, and he’s also a very strong proponent of global warming. You’ve heard that right. And convincing just about the whole world, except Donald Trump, they forgot to get Donald Trump to believe that.

But anyway, what I want you to see here in verse 21, it says, now here this, oh, fool these people and without understanding. But now look in verse 22. Fear you not me, you’re not afraid of me. He says, sayeth the Lord, will you not tremble at my presence which have placed, get this, the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree. God forgot about global warming. He says, place the the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it, and though the waves there are tossed themselves, yet can they not prevail, though they roar, yet can they not pass over it.”

In other words, it seems like God has a boundary or limit to how far the water can come upon the beach. I mean, wouldn’t you say that? Who’s in charge of this earth anyway? So therefore I’m not convinced that Al Gore’s right or the global warming. Isn’t it true that down the road and maybe not too far into the future God is going to totally destroy this whole earth and it’s going to be burnt with fire. Wonder what he’s going to do then with a glist global warming.

It’s going to get real warm. really, really warm. Now look at verse 23. He said, but this people have a revolting and a rebellious heart. They are revolted and gone. In other words, this in verse 23 is worse than if the water could overflow and there was global because what’s the greatest crisis facing the world? Global warming, no. It’s sinful wicked people. That’s the biggest problem in the world today. It’s because God told us to go into all the world and preach to God for every creature.

One that had been totally different if we’d have won the world of Christ. If we did make a difference and taught all nations the truth truth. If we had preached the way we should have and reached the ones that we should have reached, we wouldn’t have a problem today with the Muslims if we had gone to those nations and won them to Christ. Maybe it could have been totally different. But we may face the consequences for our lack of obedience in every area because I believe God has given us a command.

Do you think for a moment, if you have an atheist over here in America, and he probably is a bank president or a great lawyer, maybe even a politician? Do you think God is a good person? God loves Bernie Sanders more than He loves the Muslims. Who does He love the most? The Lord so loved the world. Even though I want the nation to protect our right to liberty and liberty, I still love those people that are in darkness and maybe have never or will never hear the truth.

And I think in their heart, their mind, their son that are probably really hungry and wished that somebody could tell them the truth. And wouldn’t it be great if God’s people could have a great spiritual revival in this country that could affect the whole world? I believe that during the tribulation period, there’s gonna be some revivals. It’s gonna scare people half the death. The thing for a moment of the people that are gonna be here and the two prophets and all the miracles that they’re gonna be able to do, And the Bible says multitude of people from every nation in every language will believe on the Lord during the tribulation period.

I almost wish I could be a part of that. I told you one time that I had this terrible dream. It was a terrible dream. It was up there making Georgia. In bed, his dad didn’t feel my mind was so much of this stuff. And I couldn’t even sleep at night without435 and so I went to bed and then I started a dream. And it was in color. I mean )); was stereo. And I mean, there was bombs going off.

And I mean, people shooting at each other. And people running and screaming. And I mean, it was so real. I thought I’m actually there. And I realized these people, this is in theSplitation period. And I’m dreaming that I’m in the Tribulation. And then I started crying. And I don’t know how I got, I don’t know for sure, because I don’t remember that. I’ll just remember Betty trying to wake me up because I was”; dreaming and I was in the tribulation period and I was one of the witnesses.

And then I came to realize because of my theology, I’m not supposed to be here. What am I doing here? Scared me to death. But that’s when the theology corrected me even in my dream. So, but it has bothered me ever since. But it makes a statement here, look in verse 24, neither say they in your heart. Let us now fear the Lord, our God, that giveth rain, both the former and the latter, and in his season he reservists unto us the appointed weeks of the harvest.

For iniquities have turned away these things and get this, your sins have withholding good things from you. Now is it possible, if we can learn from the Old Testament Scriptures, that the things that you harbor in your mind and your thoughts and so forth, that even that you do, is it possible that because of that it can keep good things from happening to you?
