This is a little note that I got from a guy that one day he called the office and Betty gave me the phone and so I talked to him. I’ll have to admit I really didn’t remember him because there’s a lot of them. I’ve probably in the last two or three days have given some people some people to contact and I think I’ve given some to Peter and I’ve given some to Bob and I think I sent one or two to Jesse.

just because it’s just too many to handle. And I wish that we could do a lot more, but in time. But he says, Dear Pastor Yankee, my name is David. I’m originally from Cleveland, Tennessee, a small town near Chattanooga, where I first attended a little country Southern Baptist Church way back in my childhood. I am now 46 years old and living in El Paso, Texas, where I have spent the majority of my life. I was born to very young parents who were always on the move struggling very hard to provide the best life for me that they knew how.

As a result of our constant movement, I attended many schools throughout my childhood, usually religious type private schools of many different denominations to include one Catholic school. Looking back, I really do not think my parents knew any better concerning the fact that all these schools or churches taught different doctrines. Anyway, this has me all messed up during my childhood and all throughout my adulthood, really never knowing what the truth was concerning my salvation or anything else for that matter.

I was just plain lost. I have to say it’s a scary feeling when a person is on my boat. He says, in 2011, my wife, Chrisanne, and I were blessed with a beautiful baby boy in my 41st year. In my heart, I knew that it was time to get it together and find out God’s truth about where we needed to be so that I would be able to teach my little boy right and make sure that he didn’t grow up confused and torment it like his dad.

I prayed and prayed, asking the Lord for help, for wisdom, for his absolute truth and guidance. He allowed me to hit a few bumps in my search for him, for my own good, of course, as you will see him. If Dr. In invited me to a FCCI fellowship of companies for Christ International meeting one morning. Our first stop was that a local gym owned and operated by a world-class power lifter and bodybuilder. I’ll leave out his name for now.

We all gathered around him for his presentation about his business practices and to hear what he believed. Towards the end, he says of his little speech, he made it clear to our group that Baptist churches were filled with people going to hell. This really got to me, scared me to death, actually, as my entire family back in Tennessee or Baptist. I stayed behind to ask him some questions about what he believed a person needed to do to go to heaven.

He was really adamant about repent, repent, turn from your sins, and the person must be holy, and there is no rapture. Now I’m really confused. He made it seem impossible to be saved if I wasn’t just like Jesus himself. Later I would learn after watching Ralph Yankee Arnold on a YouTube video that he was nothing more than a devout lordship salvationist Calvinist. Talking about the other person. Not talking about me. Talking about the other person. Our second stop was a little different.

We visit a local four-dealer ship once inside. We sat down in a large conference room and were greeted by one of the owners who then told our group about his company and what he believed. His message was refreshingly different than the message from the first guy. He spoke of God’s love for us, that we were all sinners, fell short of God’s perfection, and all we had to do was trust his son, Jesus Christ, as our Savior, and we could have eternal life.

This message felt so wonderful and true to me as even then I believed that Christ died for us because we’re sinners and cannot save ourselves. What God I believe was trying to show me was what the Bible teaches us. false doctrines, that not all religions and denominations are true and revealed to me, I needed to search his word and find truth for myself. I started reading the Bible and searching everywhere I could think to look for God’s truth. I searched the web continually and oh boy do you have to be careful about what you may run into in cyberspace as lies abound.

I remember one day about a year ago finding one of your sermons on YouTube and I was literally rejoicing after hearing you teach about the true gospel, which I never really understood prior to that day. You yourself said in one particular sermon, how do you know I’m telling you the truth if you don’t look it up for yourself? I started searching my King James Bible and looking up most verses you were teaching about and found that you were truly what I’ve been looking for in a teacher.

I am especially fond of Ephesians 2, 8, and 9. Your teachings are so clear and you have made everything so understandable to me that I honestly do not have the words to thank you. I called to request a copy of your book and the lady was kind enough to pass you the phone. We chatted a few minutes. I couldn’t believe it. Thank you. Anyway, you have been a blessing to me, my wife and my little boy Brandon, my whole family and all the folks.

I’m trying to lead to Christ the right way now. Please keep us at the wonderful work you all do for us. May God bless you and yours, Pastor Yankee. Everything with my God named David. Isn’t that good? You might think, well, everybody’s clear out there. No, they’re not clear. And a lot of lives are being ruined because of the teaching of Calvinism and this lordship salvation. So anyway, I thought I would share that with you. Because it’s a little bit about what we’re going to talk about tonight.

I want you to take your Bible and turn me to the book of 2 Peter. 2 Peter in chapter 2, 2 Peter chapter 2, and I want to speak on a little subject, my God knows how to deliver. See, God says that he knows how to deliver his children from adversity. He knows how to deliver us from hell. He knows how he’s going to deliver us from this world. And he also knows how to deliver the ungodly into judgment one day.

So verse nine, verse nine, second Peter chapter two, the Lord and Noah how to deliver the godly out of temptation or adversity and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished. Now this is what the Lord says. He is able to do this. So do you see a difference? There are those that are godly, and there are those that are ungodly. Godly are those who trust the Christ as Savior, and ungodly are those who have not trusted Christ as Savior.

He has just given several illustrations on how that he was able to save Noah and his family while at the same time destroying the ungodly. He talks about how to deliver just a lot when that destroy the rest of the people in Sodom and Gomorrah. And then talks about how that he is able to deliver these that are ungodly, these wicked people into judgment. Because you see, when you start off the second chapter, he’s talking about false teachers, false prophets.

False prophets have a false message. So if Noah was preaching and he was a preacher of righteousness and it was also there and it was preaching and the Bible says so and the book adieu. Then evidently there was false teachers also among them that also persuaded and convinced people that what they were preaching was not the truth. Bad consequences. God despises those who twist His Word, who adds to it or takes away from it. So we have a responsibility to teach what the Word of God says.

Look what he says there in verse 11. He says, whereas angels which are greater in power and might bring not railing accusations against them before the Lord. Well, see, this is in here because of simple little verses that he puts in, talking about These people are, well, they’re totally against authority. Totally against authority. That’s what he says when he’s talking about here in verse 10. And despised government. Presumptious are they self-willed. They’re not afraid to speak evil dignities. They’re arrogant.

And there’s people just like us. You can just about see some of this by watching the democratic leadership in Congress right now. I’m telling you, I don’t know if they understand what is right because they sure don’t act like they understand what truth is. And when I listen to what some of them say, lie after lie after lie, they don’t understand the Constitution when I owe to. They’re not any desire to go according to the law. And listen to some of their reasoning, good night you get better understanding from a six year old kid.

And that’s just my opening remarks as Bill Riley would say. Now, of what I want you to see also here in verse 12, but these are natural, brute, beast made to be taken and destroyed. Speak evil of the things that they understand not and shall utterly perish in their own corruption. He’s talking about false prophets, false teachers. ungodly people who think they are so wise and so smart and as though they could speak for God. You see, they are willfully sinning and rebelling against truth, but they’re not content to be in their misery alone.

They want to bring somebody else along with them. Now, hold your place right here, but look over there in the book of Jude. Just a couple pages to your right. And there’s a few verses we’ll look at in the book of Jude, so we’ll go back and forth a couple times. But in the book of Jude, I want you to look there in verse 8. It’s amazing how much similarity there are in some of these verses and also in the book of 2 Peter.

Look in verse 8, likewise also these filthy dreamers. The filed, the flesh, despised, dominion, and speak evil of dignities. This is exactly what we just read there in chapter 10 and also in verse 11 of 2 Peter chapter 2. And he also makes a statement, yet Michael the Archangel, when contending with the devil, he disputed about the body of Moses. He says, there’s not bring against him a railing accusation but said, the Lord rebuked thee. So he’s talking about similar things that’s right back there where we were reading, but then he makes statement in verse 10.

But these speak evil of those things which they know not, which is what we just read. But what they know naturally as brute beast, same description. In those things they corrupt themselves. So they corrupt themselves, they destroy themselves, but they try to destroy others in the process. There’s people who think they’re speaking for liberty in America and they want to be free from rules and regulations and no one any laws upon them and they think that’s where you get freedom from.

Now where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. When the Holy Spirit controls your life, there is liberty. And so if you don’t have the Holy Spirit leading the guy and you’re like, you don’t have freedom. You’re trapped by sin and the desires of the flesh and so you’re in worse shape. And so he makes this statement here, they corrupt themselves. Now go back there to 2 Peter chapter 2. 2 Peter chapter 2, notice what he says down in verse 13, talking about these false teachers and shall receive the reward of unrighteousness.

You know the Bible says you’ll reap what you sow. If you sow wicked, then you’re going to reap the reward of that. If you sow good things, you’re going to reap the benefits of that. So when people are wicked and they sow wickedness, they’re going to reap what they deserve and God’s going to judge. And notice what he says, as they that counted pleasure to riot in the daytime. See, most people years ago, well, you did all your sin in at night because it was dark and nobody could see.

People are bold out. They come out of the closet. Remember when the homosexual used to be in the closet? It means you didn’t know anything was going on. Now, have they come out and now this broadcast? Now, it’s openly, now that’s promoted. And that’s what happens with wickedness. And so it’s not just something that used to be, you know, hush, hush. And nobody knows about it. Now it’s proclaimed from the housetop. As always, the good thing in the right, they’re talking about we can’t have judges who want to put us back until those dark days of long ago.

You know, back in that old time, whenever people used to think that homosexuality was wrong. And all those women, it is wrong. It’s still wrong. It’s still sinful, still wicked. Well, you know, we’re progressing, we’re moving on. No, you’re not, you’re going backwards. You’re becoming like brute beast. You’re becoming like an animal. And it’s not because they love, it’s because they lust. Well, anyway, he makes a statement here in verse 13, and they, that kind of pleasure to riot in the day.

Spots, they are, and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they faced with you. So what do you mean by you? Faced with you. Well, once again, hold your place right here. Look over there in the book of Judd, Jude. The book of Jude. And look at verse 12, verse 12. And look, it’s saying the exact same thing here. These are spots in your feast of charity. When they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear. In other words, they’re feeding on you.

their feasts, they feed on you, they make merchandise of you, they make money off of you. That’s why when it gets into the era of Balaam and the era and the way, the doctrine, those are three different things. And so we’ll look at that in just a minute. But it says feeding themselves without fear. They’re not afraid to say what they say and what they do. They promote their wickedness. They want us as believers to justify their sins. They want to pass laws that justify their sin.

Because you see, they want us to approve that what they’re doing, it’s right. So you’ve got to agree with them because they will never agree with you. When they talk about bipartisanship, they means you go over to their side. Well, you know, he ought to be reaching across the aisle. Well, is there anything wrong with your arm? You reach across the yah, he won. You ought to make up. Duh, but anyway. Look what else he says here in verse 12.

Cloud they are without water, cared about of winds, trees whose fruit withered, without fruit twice dead, plucked up by the roots. This is what the Bible says about them. And then he also says this in verse 13, raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame, wondering stars to whom has reserved the blackness of darkness forever. Now this is not believers here. These are not Christians, they’re not gonna be wondering in the blackness of darkness forever. Lost people do, those wicked unbelievers, they do.

But see, they’re not content that they can go out any to eternity and whatever they want, they want you to go with them. They wanted to ruin and destroy your life. And so this is why you look at those verses and you’ll read almost the exact same thing as you find over here in 2 Peter chapter two. So go back to the 2 Peter in chapter two.

And now look in verse 14, in verse 14, having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin. Be galling unstable souls. The words unstable souls you ought to unline then. Because I want you to take your Bible and go all the way over there to the book of James. Just turn back to your left, just a couple of pages. And you’ll find out if you don’t study the Word of God, if you don’t learn good sound doctrine, you’ll be tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine that comes along.

And you’re not gonna be able to just take a strong stand. So in the book of James in chapter one, look what he says here in verse eight. A double minded man is what? Unstable, and how many of his ways? All of his ways. Well, what is an unstable man? Well, look what he, everybody has problems. And your problems is this. Get you to seek the Lord. Ask of God. This is how you grow. Facing situations you don’t have answers for.

Needing help, needing wisdom. So God says in verse 2, my brethren counted all joy when you fall into diverse temptations. You’re going to have them. Knowing this that the trying of your faith work at patience or produces maturity in your life. You learn you don’t get what you want when you want it. you’ve got to be paid and wait on the Lord. If you’re not patient and wait on the Lord, you try to do it yourself. You try to get ahead of God.

Look what He says, but let patient have her perfect work that you may be perfect or complete and entire, wanting or lacking nothing. God wants you to be a strong Christian, nothing lacking in your Christian life. But sure enough that you can handle whatever the problem is you can handle it. Between you and God, you can handle anything. true between you won’t believe it between men God we know everything there’s in the world between men God we can do anything I am only as strong as I’m with the Lord without him I can do yeah but you ought to see what we can do with him I can do all things through tries with strength in this menu now get what he says if any of you in verse five, lack wisdom.

And it means you do and you should seek the Lord, ask for wisdom. And then in verse six he says, but let him ask in faith in other words, believing. Nothing wavering for he that waiver is like a wave of the seed driven with the wind and tossed. This is what happens to a person who doesn’t get well grounded in the Word of God. After all you lose your direction. And there’s false teachers in this world that can ruin your life and trap you.

And what the way that the lost people live and how they think they can teach that to a Christian and a Christian can wind up living just like a false teacher can do their same. But the only thing is, oh, once you’re saved, you’re always saved. But do you want to live like a lost man? You want to think like a lost man. You want to live like the world. You want to be like a brute beast. Do you want to be destructive?

You want to be unstable. Well, this is why he warns all of this and why we’re supposed to put our confidence and trust in the Lord. Why do you think Peter is talking to the believers? You’re not talking a lot of him talking to the believers. Believers that need to be aware of false teachers because false teachers, well, it takes its toll upon God’s children. And this is why he says here, in the middle part of verse 14 of chapter 2.

He says, and heart, they have exercised with covetous practices. Cursed children don’t believe like them, don’t do like them. Now, he uses an illustration from the Old Testament about these cursed children. There was a man named Balaam. He was a prophet of God. And Balaam, well, he was the king of Moab. And he didn’t see the children of Israel come up and he was up on the top of mine. He was looking at him down in the valley. And he was scared.

And as the Bible says that, you know, no doubt his knees smote one another. He was scared to death. And he wanted Balaam to put a curse upon the children of Israel. And I said, I can’t do that. I can’t do that. But you’ll find out the Bible talks about the way of Balaam, the heir of Balaam, and it talks about the doctrine of Balaam. So hold your place right here because we’ll come back to 2 Peter, but I want to digress here just a little bit and go back there to the book of Numbers.

Numbers and chapter 22, Numbers and chapter 22. You’ve probably been through this many times before, but just kind of look at it one more time because it references this, tells us about this, and there must be a reason, must be a reason, well there is, because there is a man who wants a prophet of God to put a curse upon the children of Israel. But didn’t God say, I will bless them, to bless thee and curse them, they cursed thee?

Well, you look here in the book of Numbers in chapter 22, and the last part of verse 4 says, and be like the son of Zippur was King of the Moabites at that time. He shouldn’t messengers, therefore. I’m the bail him and he wanted them to give a message. He said, I want you to tell this guy to come see me. So down here in verse six, come now therefore I pray them, curse me this people. He wanted them to curse those people.

You see, that’s what false teachers are in the process of doing. If they can get God’s people to sin against God, then isn’t it true that God’s opposed to chasing his people? people. Well, the way to get God to change in his people is to get the people to sin. And so there’s false teachers in this world who are going to be very deceptive. They will sin, but they’re not content with just them. They want to get everybody they can.

Did you know the homosexuals are after your children? They’re not content with us whatever they do. They want it taught to the little kids in school. They want the teenagers involved. They want college kids involved so they can have co-ed and all the rest of it and sin abounds. It abounds. But because there’s somebody teaching, air. And so he makes this statement. He says in verse 6, come now therefore I pray, the curse be this people, for they are too mighty for me.

Per adventure I shall prevail, that we may smite them and that I may drive them out of the land, for I know not that He whom thou blessed is blessed, and He whom thou cursed is cursed. For some reason rather this prophet had God hand upon me, he could bless and he could curse and whatever he decided, that’s the way it would be. Isn’t that powerful? So you have to be careful. But what did God tell you? He said, well, I’ll have to check with the Lord.

So in verse 12, he says, and God said unto Balaam, thou shall not go with them, thou shall not curse the people, and you ought to underline this part of it. Why? They are blessed. They had been blessed by God, and God was watching over them, and God was providing for them, and God was meeting their needs, and God was defending them, and blah, blah, blah, blah. They are blessed people. you can’t put a curse on them. So he says, he went back and comes and said, I’m sorry, I can’t do that.

I can’t do that. And so Beylak was, he was satisfied, right? No, he wasn’t satisfied. He went after him three more times. So finally, Beylan says, well, let me just see if the Lord wants me to learn some more. Well, he’d already done a game and answer. But you see, there was the, the era of Balaam. And see that was because he would do it for wages. There was so much of an offer made to him that he just couldn’t turn it down.

He did until you find out later that he gave him some counseling on how they could help destroy Israel. Balaam did that. He knew the truth and rebelled against obeying the truth. And there was a price to pay. He even got on a donkey one time and he was trying to go down this place. And the Lord told him not to go. He would determine they’d do it anyway. And so the, there was an angel of the Lord standing in front of the donkey, but no, Balaam, he couldn’t sit.

He’s riding the donkey. And it was real narrow. And the donkey would stop and wouldn’t do it and rub his legs up against the thing. And he was mad. He was going to beat the donkey and next thing you know, the donkey spoke to him. He says, well, why are you hitting me? That ought to give you confidence. If God can use a jackass, he can use you.
