A lot of times when God can’t find the man, God will raise up a woman. I’ve seen that happen over and over again. We have a lot of women that go to the mission fields. And a lot of times, because a man won’t go. Wouldn’t be needed for all the men. But you see, there’s a thing about this desire. Doing it because you want to do it. Sometimes you see things and you do it because I have to do this.

This is right. And somebody has to do it. And then you do it. And as you go down through here, the next chapter talks about, she writes a song. She sings, see there in verse one, then sang Deborah and Barak. They sung a song in verse two, praise the Lord for the avenging of Israel and you ought to underline this statement. When the people, and here’s that word willingly, offered themselves. You see, God wants to use people. wants to honor people, but he’s he’s wanting people to love him and to do it willingly.

And so if you will, you ought to underline that word willingly because it showed their desire that they did so and they offered themselves. See, serving the Lord is just that. And you’ll see a parallel with these verses like this when you read Romans in chapter 12. I beseech you therefore brother by the mercies of God that you present. Presenting means a choice. It means willingly, desiring, presenting your bodies as a living sacrifice. Why you’re alive, realize that God may take your life.

When you go into battle, especially back then when they literally went into a literal battle. They knew that there was a possibility they may not come back. That’s why it was talking about a while ago over there, and did it around me. This is what you do because there’s this problem and maybe you just got married or whatever and you’re still weak and afraid or something like that. You affect other people. That’s why it’s always good. Everybody you can get to serve a Lord in place of leadership, they should do it willingly.

Because if they do it out of drudgery and they hate it, do you think that that’s going to affect other people? You think other people will be looking at the way they do things, the way they talk about it? Or should you serve a Lord because you want to? You do it willingly. And I believe this is what the Lord’s talking about. So this is the, the people are volunteering to do what needed to be done. But look down there in verse nine.

In verse nine it says, my heart is toward the governors of Israel. Now this is the leaders that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the Lord. This was a song, but a song that talked about the leaders responded and the people responded. And this is the way I believe God wants it to be. Serving the Lord ought to be something that we voluntarily do, not because I have to do it, because I want to do it, and I do it willingly.

I’ve told many people, I said, look, you may not be ready yet. Instead of doing something, you don’t really want to just wait until you want to, until you have the desire, the willingness to do whatever it is God wants you to do. Now take your Bible and turn to the book of Exodus chapter 35. The book of Exodus. In chapter 35, there’s some verses I can show you in the book of Exodus chapter 31, but I think 35 does just as well.

And then also in chapter 36, but in chapter 35, there’s a wonderful portion of the scripture here that’s talking about Moses. He just, you know, come down, he has the Ten Commandments, and he meets the people, and he says some things there, and he gave them a lot of things about what’s going to take place and how that there’s going to be a tabernacle, and they’re going to need workers and people to give. And so he says in verse 4, And Moses speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the Lord commended.

Say, and take ye from among you and offering unto the Lord.” Now, notice this is what the Lord commanded. So how can you do it voluntarily if it’s commanded? Because you still got a choice. If you do it willingly, you get a reward like he says in the book of 1 Corinthians in chapter 9 where Paul made the statement that a dispensation of the gospel is committed unto me. But I’m the do it willingly. be grudgingly, like, well, I have to do this.

Now you should do it because you want to. The desire is there. Remember there’s a scripture that talks about Christ. He’s talking about the desire of nations. It’s even in a song. Come, the desire of nations come. Usually everybody seems at a Christmas time. But the desire of all the nations is for the Prince of Peace to come and set up a kingdom. Or to come and take us all to heaven. Whatever it is, it’s to change the state of affairs.

And we desire that. So there’s this desire that we’re supposed to have. But look what he says here in verse 5. Take ye from among you and offer unto the Lord, and then underline this. Whosoever is of a willing heart. Whosoever is of a willing heart. Let him bring it an offering of the Lord, gold and silver and brass. Now remember when they left Egypt, you remember that he told them to spoil the Egyptians? And buddy, they did. When they left Egypt, they had gotten all this wealth to go with them.

I believe it’s kind of like, you know, you owed them. They did the work and now they finally got paid. And when they left, they took a lot of wealth with them. So they weren’t poor people. They had silver and gold. And so the Lord says, we’re going to build a tabernacle. There’s things that we want and we’re going to need gold for this, gold for that and silver for this. So He says, but I want people to do it willingly.

So He says in verse 10, Every wise hearted among you shall come. Make all that the Lord hath commanded. The tabernacle, his tent and his covenant goes to all the stuff that he’s going to have. And talking about the ark that has to be built, and the table, and the staves, and the vessels, and the showbread, the candlesticks, the furniture, and all that stuff that they had to have. So all these things they would have to have, well where’s he coming from?

Well, the Lord had already prepared by giving it to the people from the Egyptians. Now the Lord wants them to give it to him for what he wanted. And he didn’t ask for everything, but he does say this is what I want you to do. But look there in verse 20, all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the the presence of Moses. And they came, everyone whose hearts stirred him up. You see, not everybody gets in on the blessings of God.

Not everybody’s going to serve a Lord. I’ve lived long enough to know I went through Bible college. I said in there with people that today they don’t care anything about God. They don’t care about the gospel. Their lives are erect and They have not disciplined themselves. And I know that has to break God’s heart. But some people will serve a Lord and some people won’t. You can’t make people love God. But He says, I want you to do it willingly of a willing heart.

Because see, it’s hard to stop somebody who really wants to do something. But if you don’t really wanna do something, it won’t take much to make you mad to offend you. Why? Because you’re looking for a reason to quit anyway. True, you think about it. And buddy. A lot of people can be so easily offended because their whole heart’s not in it. But when you’re really committed to something, you want to see it through. But look what he says here in verse 21, and they came.

Everyone whose heart stirred him up and everyone whom the Spirit made willing. You see, there’s a Holy Spirit and you’ll find out as you go through that the Spirit that God gave to Moses and to some of the, he gave it to 70 other leaders. It’s awesome when you think about it. But you see, that was to perform certain jobs, but now the Holy Spirit of God into us all of us, every child of God. And it’s the will of God through the Holy Spirit that creates that desire that we wanna serve the Lord.

But some people suppress the desire because they have other desires that are stronger. And they’re always going to serve the Lord. They’re always going to, but never get around to it because so many other things crowded out. So he makes a statement as you get out through here, and I want you to see this especially. In verse 22, and they came, both men and, uh-oh, what does it say? And women, men and women, as many as were willing-hearted. and brought bracelets and earrings and rings and all this stuff, all jewels of gold.

And every man that offered offering an offering of gold unto the Lord. Look at all this. These people, they spoil the Egyptians. And now God says, hey, we’re going to build us something. Look what we can have. But I want everybody to have a part. I want everybody to do it, but I want you to do it willingly. Not because somebody made you do it, but because you wanted to do it. So he says there in verse 23, notice the word, and every man.

You see there in verse 24? Every one, every one. In the middle part of that verse, every man. Verse 25, and all the women that were wise-hearted did spin with their hands and brought that which they had spun and the blue, the purple, the scarred, the final linen, because there was all this linen. Everything had to be done. And it was amazing that the Spirit of God that came upon them enabled them, different ones of them, to have all this talent, the skills and the ability that was needed to do something they had never done before.

What Moses had done had never been done before. Building of this tabernacle had never been done before. And the skills that they had, they didn’t have it before. The Holy Spirit gave them wisdom, gave them understanding, and caused them to be able to do the job because they were willing to do it. The Holy Spirit is the ziarist and lives within us to give us the power that we need. The wisdom that you need. You say, well, I’ve never done this before.

I can’t do that and I can’t do that. Did you know that God can do things for you and through you you couldn’t do before? But because of the work of the Lord, God is able to do it. That’s why you trust Him. But He wants a willing heart, not somebody He has to make do it, but somebody that wants it and desires it. And you’d be surprised what God may have in store for you. So it says here in verse 25, all the women, verse 26, all the women, see that?

And looking verse 29, the children of Israel brought a willing offering unto the Lord. Every man and woman whose heart get to have made them willing to bring for all manner of work which the Lord had commanded to be made by the hand of Moses. And they did all these things that God had said to do. Isn’t it amazing? I think it’s amazing. We’ll just look over there in chapter 36 because you kind of follow along with that there.

Then brought Bezalil and Aholeab and every wise-hearted man in whom, get to in whom, the Lord put wisdom and understanding to know how to work. All manner of work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that the Lord had come in. They were doing things they had never done before because of a willing heart and God will give you wisdom you never had before, understanding you never had before, talents and abilities you never had before. Now, if the Word of God is true, and I believe it is, he says in the book of Romans in chapter 15 that the Old Testament Scriptures were written a four-time for our learning.

This was written so we can learn from it of what God will do for you because, see, we have the same Holy Spirit, but He lives on the inside of us. Listen, I am myself at 70 years of age doing things and desirous of doing things that I could not do when I was 18 years old. What has made the difference for 52 years?

Because I have a willing heart. I want to know how to do things. God has enabled me to do things that if I had not trusted Him and if I had not desired to serve Him, I could never have done. I know that, I believe that. And until the day I die, I’m gonna keep believing that. That’s what makes life exciting. I’m not limited to what my talents are. I’m limited only by God, not me. As long as I yield to Him, I don’t know the limits of what He has in store.

Same thing for you. But you see, people, because they’re afraid. Okay, don’t worry about it. You just let it go. You just sit on the sidelines and watch all the other people get out there in the arena. You know, when you’re in a football game, not everybody’s playing. Can you imagine 60, 70, 80,000 people sitting up there watching these guys in top-notch shape get down there and battle it out? They’re the one that should be down there exercising. And they’re up there setting.

And a few people down there doing the work. And this is what the way it is in the Christian life. If you can’t handle it, don’t don’t worry about it. But if you have the desire, you’re willing. That’s the one that God’s looking for. And trust that the Lord, because I’m desirous, can give me everything that I need. I believe this is what the Scriptures tell us. I believe it’s what it teaches. See there in verse 4, and all the wise men that wrought all the work of the sanctuary came every man from his work which they made and they spake unto Moses.

So in the people bring much more than enough for the service of the work, which the Lord commanded to make. And Moses had to say, look, we have more than we need. Because of the willingness of the people, well, we just got too many people. We don’t have enough room for you. I’m sorry. Look what he says here in verse 8. And Moses gave commandment and they caused it to be proclaimed throughout the camp saying, let neither man nor woman make any more work for the offering of the sanctuary.

So the people were restrained. They wanted to give more than what was needed. They wanted to do more than what was required. Wouldn’t be wonderful. What if you had a church and everybody thought the same way, felt the same way? What in the world you could do? But you know, a statement my father-in-law gave me years ago says, the world has never seen what God can do through one person totally yielded, dedicated to him. And I thought to myself, so why don’t you just try to be that guy?

But you know, maybe the world has never seen a family that was so dedicated to God that they could be the example for the rest of the world. Has there ever been a family that’s been so dedicated to God that God would do something on their behalf because of how good and godly they were? But what about a church? The world has never seen a a church so unified that would bring such honor and glory to God because they all had the same willingness of mind to work the way God wanted them to.

You know I could almost get carried away on all the stuff. Look in verse 7, for the stuff, I like the word stuff. You say what is stuff? It’s stuff. All the stuff that they had was sufficient for all the work to make it and too much. One while that’s in the Bible. Nobody had to pretend the Bible. Can’t make us envious, jealous, or to stimulate us. To help us to see that God’s way will work. But it all boiled down because you see there was the leaders, the leaders, they were willing.

And the people, they were willing. And when everybody is willing, well, that was later in Joshua, they had victory, whether it was with the judges, they had victory. Well, we want victory. My prayer and desire for the Lord is that all God’s people are so desirous of God’s will for them that nothing would stop them from fulfilling it, that they’d wanna be used by God more than anything else in the world. And not use what I can’t, I don’t know, Learn.

Learn. These people had been slaves. Unskilled. They could lay brick without straw. But what was all their skills in? And yet God blessed them with wisdom on how to do all these various jobs. And it worked. And he used the men and he used the women. And God got the glory. Look up here. On the Gospel, this is voluntary. This is simply that God wants us just to believe Him, to trust Him. This hand represents you and me, and the wall of represents sin.

We all have sin on us. God, He loves us. H, our sin, but He loves us. says for us to go to heaven, you’d have to be perfect and nobody’s perfect. We’ve all come short of God’s perfection because everybody’s a sinner. And because we’ve all sinned, we’re all condemned. And so therefore God says, He loves us and wants us to go to heaven. He’d have to work the miracle because no man can deliver himself, no man can save himself.

It is totally impossible. I talked to a man today. I was sitting there, I’m on business, beat me a little bowl of soup. I bet he was sitting there. And he walked up and he says, well, I’m gonna go over here and sit down. And he knew I was a preacher. He said, if you wanna preach to me, just let me know. And he went over and he sat down. And so I finished my, my little. And I got up and I got ready to leave.

I went over to his table. He stood up. This isn’t a restaurant. And I said, you have any particular question you want to ask me? He said, I always got a lot of questions I like to ask. I said, all right. He says, my biggest problem is I just don’t know if it’s true. You know, heaven, hell God, and all that stuff. I just don’t know if it’s true. I said, well, I can’t prove anything to you. I said, you can believe and you will believe whatever you really want to believe.

I can’t prove God to you.” I said, but I can tell you why, or what the biggest evidence that God ever gave. So he sat down and I sat down in this table and Betty, I don’t know what she did. I really don’t. She’ll have to tell you, I don’t know. So I focused in on him and I said, if a person was raised from the dead, I said, rieving. If he came in right now, if he walked on water, floated through the air, I said, you wouldn’t believe it.

I said, you’d have a reason to believe that that’s maybe the devil did that. Maybe I’m having an illusion of, it’s not real, it’s not even happening. I said, you’d have a reason. I said, one of the biggest proofs of all time, I says, is the nation of Israel. Israel is God’s living miracle to the world that what he said is true. He said all these things that are happening to this group of people what would happen and when it would happen and it’s happening and Anybody wants to know truth look at Israel and if you won’t believe that you change that you’re not gonna believe anything So I talked to him for a while and when I got through he didn’t believe it You cannot win everybody, but this guy has got me matter Hornet So that I don’t told him everything that I know and

I still can’t get through to this guy and it bothered me. I think sometimes I wonder if he’s already trusted Lord and he’s just having fun. If I find out he’s already trust Lord, I’m going to slap his jaws. And if I get to heaven and he’s there, I’m going to ask God to kick him out. For the trouble, the turmoil he put me through. I’ve explained everything. I’ve showed him this and got nowhere. But anyway, God says that He loves us.

H. R. sin. Heaven is perfect. We’re not. We can’t get in. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord. God in the flesh came into the world because He loves us. H. R. sin because it separates us from Him. So Jesus Christ who had no sin didn’t have to die. He came into the world and took all the sin of all the world, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead, and said if we would believe He did it for us, He would put this payment that he made to our account.

We get to go to heaven all Christ did. Nobody goes to heaven or what they do. They go to heaven or what he did. So if you trust him as your Savior, he’s the Savior. He saves you from hell. He gives you eternal life. You get to go to heaven. It’s all because of what he did. That’s why the Bible says for by grace or you saved through faith that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God not of works.

Why? Unless any man should boast. The reason it’s free is because God don’t want anybody thinking that they got there because of their good deeds. Look at me. God says, no, look at my son. He gets all the credit, all the honor, all the glory. Let’s pray, shall we? With every head bowed and every eye closed, no one looking around. Or if you’re watching by internet tonight, understand that, yes, salvation is free. It is the gift of God. You don’t earn it.

You don’t work for it. You can’t buy it. He made a payment for it in form. He said, if you would believe that he did it for you, he would save you, give you eternal life. So friend right now, the best you know how, would you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior? Would you trust Him? Would you believe that when He died, He died for you? He paid for your sins. And He said, if you’ll believe it, you would have eternal life and go to heaven whenever you die.

I pray that you will. If you have already trusted Christ is your Savior, your God’s child. When it comes to serving the Lord, maybe you’re not ready yet. Maybe you need just a set in the stands for a little while longer, but you’re not ready for the arena because there’s a price to pay. But God wants those of a willing heart. God doesn’t want to have to force people to serve Him. How does that look when God can’t win people?

If he can’t have people loving, you know, that must hurt God more than anything else in the world. That God loves you so much, did so much for you, and then for God’s people, not the loving the way they should.
