Well, we’ve got something a little bit different tonight. We have some expert Bible theologians here tonight. And of course, Bob Gilbert, you can join in here if you want to. You might need your Bible. And we’re going to have a microphone right here, and I’ll have Devin bring it to whoever needs it at the time. This is on the personal evangelism lecture at number 30. And what I want to talk about tonight is an interesting little subject. We know there’s three main views.
You may have heard of two of the views. One that there’s the people in the world and that God has already determined out of all the people in the world that he’s going to save the ones that he wants. So he’s already picked those out. And so there’s a sliver of all of the people born into the world and God loves them. So he’s chosen them and he’s gonna give them the faith so they can believe so that they can get saved and have eternal life and go to heaven whenever they die.
So we call that a false view of predestination. It’s fatalistic teaching and it’s not the truth but people can see it if they study the scriptures. And so we know there is a view But it’s got something that doesn’t sound right. Then we got another view. We have another view where there are people who actually believe that Jesus died on the cross, paid for all the sins of the whole world. So eventually, eventually, in the buy and buy, everybody’s going to be saved.
Everybody’s going to heaven, so you don’t have to worry about it because everybody’s going. because when he died, he died for everybody. Isn’t that wonderful and everybody is going to be saved and go to heaven. So you have an extreme where God chose just a few, then you have the other where God saves everybody. Well, we know somewhere in between there there might be some truth and we call it the good news of the gospel that God has given to us.
And so we believe that God loves the world and paid for all the sins of the world, But he leaves it up to you and I to decide, well, will we or will we not accept Christ as our Savior? It’s a choice that we have. So what I want to do is play a little bit of the devil’s advocate, and we have these theologians down here, and these are the experts when it comes to the Bible. And so they are going to explain where I’m wrong on particular verses.
So first of all, I want you to take your Bible and you’ve got to follow with me for a while and then we’re going to get into the nitty gritty of it. Look in 1 John chapter 2, 1 John, 1 John in chapter 2. And you’ll notice in chapter 2, there’s two verses there that I want to read to you. Because see I believe that eventually everybody is going to be saved. God is going to do away with hell because you see that’s the second death.
The first death is whenever you die and you don’t know the Lord. Well the second death he’s just going to obliterate everything and death is the last enemy so he’s going to destroy the last enemy which is death. And he says and death and hell we’re casting to the lake of fire, this is the second death. So he’s going to now late that and that whole thing will be alright. So then everybody will be saved. Now nobody sees anything wrong with what I’ve said so far, right?
Alright we’re moving right along here. First John chapter 2, looking verse 1. My little children, these things right under you that you sinned not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He is the propitiation for our sins and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. So God is going to save the whole world. He’s paid for everybody’s sins and there’s no reason for anybody to go to hell.
And so therefore we know that everybody’s going to eventually be saved. So we don’t have to worry about witnessing because God’s already determined the whole world is going to be saved because he died and paid for this into the whole world. See how simple that is? That’s heresy. That’s heresy. Well, not yet. Not yet. All right, looking first John chapter four, first John chapter four. And you’ll notice looking verse 14, verse 14. Jesus is the savior of the world.
See there in verse 14? And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world.” Now if he’s the Savior of the world then you might as well know he has to save the world if he’s going to be the Savior of the world. Not a Savior of a few, he’s going to be the Savior of the world. Now what gentleman here has a comment they would like to make. Get your microphone, get that microphone, have it in your hand.
Be ready to run over to the other guy that’s got his hands up. All right, and make, oh, oh, oh, come over here. He’s got his hand up. Turn it, make sure it’s turned on. And then Devin, you get that microphone and hand it to the next person. All right, give it a short answer. When Jesus spoke to the lost woman at the well in John chapter four, he told him. We’re not talking about that. He told her she needed to know two things, not just who he was, but the gift of God.
Yes. And who he was. And the gift of God is not just sins paid for. The gift of God is salvation. The gift of God is eternal life. life. The gift of God is the righteousness of Jesus Christ put to the account of everyone that believes you can’t get to heaven without the righteousness of God put to your account. It’s not enough to know that he’s the Savior of the world. You have to believe in him. If he’s the Savior of the world, he must save the world and the world and be the Savior of the world.
When you believe in him, he puts his righteousness to your account. He wants to make a comment over here. Yes, this is Trent. Trent, what’s wrong with what I’m saying? 3 18 says he would believe if on him is not condemned, but he would believe if not is condemned already. Alright, let’s take our Bibles and go to John chapter 3 verse 16. John chapter 3 and verse 16. I didn’t want to go there yet, but no, y’all just, you press in my button and so we’re going to go and look at some of these other verses that will prove to you that my view is correct.
So John chapter 3 and look in verse 16. Verse 16. And notice what he says there, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believe it, then him should not perish but have everlasting life. And so eventually everybody is going to hear the gospel and everybody is going to believe it. And notice what he says in verse 17, verse 17, very important. God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world, get that the world, that’s everybody the world, the whole world should be saved.
Through Him might be saved. See, so that’s why Christ came and He died on the cross to pay for the sins of the whole world so that everybody in the world is going to be saved now. Thank you. I appreciate you putting that verse out to me. Yes. No, wait a minute. I want it somebody else. No, no, no, no. We’re not having no, Bob, Brooks had a question. All right, Peter? I have an answer. Oh, okay, We have an answer.
Yes. It was the plan of God that was before the foundations of the world where Christ was slain before the foundations of the world. And so we have to be placed in Christ. Right. And you do that by believing. Right. So there are believers and there are unbelievers. And it’s not God doing the, I pick you. I’ve chosen the plan. is the way that you get saved in a fission says, you’ve got a scripture that says anything to back that up.
Yeah, of course. It says, this is a way in whom you have trusted after that you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. And after you believe you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of your inheritance unto the redemption of the purchased possession unto the praise of his glory. Alright, let me ask you a question, let me ask you a question because we all believe the Bible and we’re all going to get to heaven.
We’re just going different ways but as long as we get there that’s all that’s important. Now… Take your Bible and turn to the book of Corinthians. That’s 1 Corinthians chapter… Let me see, get a good verse here. First Corinthians chapter 12. First Corinthians and chapter 12. Now, that is if we really believe the Bible. And I’m hoping that y’all really believe the Bible. And look there in verse 3. When he says, wherefore I give you to understand. that no man speaking by the spirit of God, call of Jesus a cursed.
Now the second part of the verse, no man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Spirit. Do you believe that? Do you believe that verse? It’s right there in the Bible. No man can say that Jesus is the Lord but by the Holy Ghost. Now take your Bible and look in the book of Philippians in chapter two, Philippians chapter two. And you’ll notice what he says. In verse nine, wherefore God also had highly exalted him and given him a name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus, every knee should bow of things in heaven, things in earth, things under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
See, everybody’s gonna confess. And therefore, in 1 Corinthians in chapter 12, you can’t confess that Jesus is the Lord, except by the power of the Holy Spirit, living within you. So that shows you that eventually everybody’s gonna be saved because everybody is gonna confess that Jesus is the Lord. Hold, hold, hold, hold, don’t be God, yes, Peter? Revelation chapter 20, verse 10. We’re on these verses right here. Look at this, how they jumping around. Revelation chapter 20, verse 10, and the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are shall be tormented day and night forever and ever.
And I saw a great white throne in him that sat on it, him whose face the earth and heaven fled away. And there was no place found for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God. And the books were opened. And another book was opened in the book of life. And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works in the c. gave up the dead which were in it and death and hell were delivered up delivered up the dead which were in them and they were judged every man according to their works and death and hell were cast into the lake of fire.
This is the second death. Then chapter 21 verse 11, starting in verse 10, he say FenrirOSPel not the sayings of the the prophecy of this book for the time is at hand, verse 11, he that is unjust, let him be unjust still, he which is filthy, let him be filthy still, he which is righteous, let him be righteous still, and he that is holy, let him be holy still. Thank you. Right, and at the end of time, when everybody is still, then God’s gonna make everybody confess that Jesus is the Lord to the glory of God, the Father, and everybody will be saved.
Very, very, very, very, very good point. All right, now, let’s look at another verse here. Look there in 1 Timothy chapter one. 1 Timothy chapter one. 1 Timothy chapter one. Iufact like a bunch of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 1st, chapter one. Look there in verse 15. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptations. For everybody to understand that Christ Jesus came into the world of the safe center. Okay, who’s the center? Everybody in the world. He came the same of the centers and that’s everybody in the world.
So everybody’s going to be saved. So clear in the Bible when you just take it in its word. See there? Any comment over here? John John. Galatians 2.26 says for you. She had to jump around. well, for ye are all the children of God. See, you’re all the children of God. By faith in Christ. Well, events, that’s what I’m saying. When it’s all over with, everybody’s gonna believe. And so, because everybody’s gonna believe, everybody’s gonna be saved. See, there’s those Calvinists out there, and we know they’re wrong.
And we know that there was people that believe in our minion. Well, you know, you’re safe for a”:””},{” and then lost the next day. We know they’re wrong. And we know there’s some people believe in eternal security, but they think they’re the only chosen frozen, but there’s everybody is going to go. This is what makes it so wonderful. Isn’t the gospel wonderful when it’s a good news? Everybody’s saying everybody’s going to heaven whenever they die. Look at that verse.
He says, this is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptations that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. All right. No comments? Yes, there Bob. Second Thessalonians, chapter one, says something about some people that are going to be in this bad situation, something about inflaming fire-taking vengeance. Let’s see here. In flaming fire taking vengeance of them that no, not God. Who’s that? Oh, it must be people that didn’t believe. Didn’t obey the gospel of Lord Jesus Christ.estinal They shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.
They will bow their knee. They will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. It will be too late. They will be in the lake of fire. If they can confess Christ and their Lord without the Holy Spirit. By the power of the Holy Spirit they will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord but they will be eternally lost when they do it. All right, let’s turn to 1 Timothy chapter 2. Look in 1 Timothy chapter 2. I have something. First Timothy chapter to come from the very birth that you quoted before and misused.
Yes. In John 3 16. 16 where you said that he didn’t come in to the world to condemn the world, butpointers might the world{“‘but to him might be saved.” But he’s going to read that verse 18 right afterwards which says, he is believed on him, is not condemned, but he that believeth not is condemned already because he had not believed in the name of the Son of God. That was the time when I hadn’t believed and I was lost, but I’m saved now.
See it’s not over yet. You give it enough time and everybody’s going to finally see the light of day. I agree with you. Now take your Bible and look in 1 Timothy chapter 2 and look what he says here in verse 3. Verse 3, now y’all got to go by the Bible now. Verse 3, for this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior who will have all men to be what? Don’t you believe in the sovereignty of God?
the sovereignty of God. God can save everybody and it’s his will that nobody be lost. He’s not willing that any should perish so nobody’s going to perish because God’s the one that makes the rules and it’s his will and his desire and so therefore everybody’s going to be saved. Now look what he says here in verse verse 4 again who will have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. It’s just they haven’t come to the knowledge of the truth.
It’s not over yet, but you’ve got to give them time. Don’t you believe in universal salvation? That God so loved the whole world and everybody’s going to be saved and everybody’s going to heaven and we’re all, don’t worry about it. There’s no such place as hell. He’s going to save everybody. That’s what he did. He saves us from hell so we don’t need a hell. That was just for the devil and his angels. That’s what that was for us.
Yes, Trent? I have a few verses. Matthew chapter 7, verse 13, 14, first of all, enter ye in as a straight gate for why does the gate and brought us the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be which go in there at, verses 21 through 23, not every one that’s saith unto me, Lord, Lord, they said his name shall enter into the kingdom of heaven but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven, which is to believe.
Many will say unto me in that day, Lord, Lord, I mean, I prophesied in their name and the thine name cast out devils and I name many wonderful works. And then while I profess some of them, I never knew you, depart from me either working equity. That was an awesome verse. I would have, I was gonna, I was just getting ready to choose that verse myself. Because you see, there’s a difference in heaven and the kingdom upon the earth.
And he says, except your righteousness, you shall exceed the righteousness of the fairs and you shall know wise, enter into the kingdom of heaven. That’s upon the earth of that thousand year reign. And I agree with you, not everybody’s gonna eat in there, even though they knock at the door. But we’re talking about the end of time, not during the kingdom of heaven at one thousand years upon the earth, very good verse. I appreciate that. Now, I want you to take your Bible and turn to John chapter 12.
Turn to John and chapter 12. Some of you all go to that Florida Baba College and you just thank Yalas O’Hai and mighty and you know all the Bible and boy you can just trap anybody. You just, no, I mean you got it right there. Uh-huh. Chapter 12 of the Gospel of John, look what he says in verse 32. Verse 32. And if I be lifted up from the earth, we’ll draw, there you got it. All men, oh, that’s everybody.
He’s gonna draw everybody. And so all that come to him, he says he’ll in no wise cast out. That’s what he says. Now Tom, you’re not one of this panel up here. you’re not one of these people up here. Now you gotta stay out of this, Tom. I know you can’t even see it. They say even the blind hole finds an acorn once in a while. I’m starting to have fun. But anyway, how do you explain it? See that?
It’s right there. Yes. Yes. Keaton? It says, John 1 12, it says, but as many as received him to them gave he power to become the sons of God. He didn’t make them become the sons of God. He gave him the ability to. He said that you can receive this if you take it. Well, I appreciate that. That’s a good one. But look there in John chapter six. That’s a good one. But now just so that you know, look there in verse 44.
John chapter 6 verse 44, no man can come to me except the Father which have sent me, draw him and he’s already said if you lift me up I will draw all men. See there? I hope that helps you right there with that verse okay. Alright as we were moving right along we do believe that Jesus is the Savior of the world. We’re looking John chapter 4 and verse 14 the gospel of John in chapter 4, and look in verse, I would say verse 42, that’s a good verse.
And look what he says in verse 42, and he said unto the woman, now we believe, not because of thy sin, for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, and you ought to unline the rest of that verse. The Savior of the world. So Jesus is the Savior of the whole world. So everybody in the world is going to be saved and you don’t have to worry about it. So that’s why we don’t have to have missionaries.
We don’t have to go to the foreign fields and we don’t have to do that witnessing on Friday nights and things like that because everybody’s gonna be saved anyway. Isn’t it wonderful when you can just go by the Bible? Yes, Trent. I would like you to explain this verse to me before you go on to another verse. John He that believes on Son hath everlasting life, and He that believeth not, I’d like to explain, you to explain, who are they that believeth not?
The Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abideth on Him. That’s for the time been. See, when I was lost, I didn’t have eternal life. I didn’t even see eternal life. I didn’t understand God. I didn’t know anything. So I was under the wrath of God, just like everybody is. like everybody is. But one day we’re all going to see Him and every I shall see Him. Remember that verse? Every I will see Him and when we see Him we’re going to believe.
So therefore that’s the way you explain some of these really hard verses. So take your Bible and turn to the book of Colossians in chapter 1. The book of Colossians and chapter 1 and rest assured there are people just like me. There are people just like me and they do exactly what I’m doing to you. If I think you’re even close, I move on to another verse and that’s what they do. They’re like Quicksilver. You know you mash it here Bob’s over there.
But here in the book of Colossians and the book of Colossians chapter 1, look in verse 16, for by Him were all things created in heaven, that are in earth, visible, invisible, whether to be thrones or dominions, principalities or power, all things were created by Him and for Him. He He created everything. Now if he created everything, why would God create people? He knew in advance we’re going to go to hell. That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Did he create everybody?
Why would then would he create those little babies be born into this world, knowing that they were going to go to hell? And that a good question? That sounds like a woman talking. Alright, let’s have an answer over here. It’s a hard question why God allowed man to sin. It’s a real good question. I think the closest the Bible comes to answering in is in Ephesians chapter 2, just before verses 8 and 9. In Ephesians 2, 7, it says that in the ages to come, he might show the exceeding riches of His grace and His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
God has always been a God of grace and mercy, but without man sinning, He could never show it. And so he made us able to sin so that he could display in his kindness for us the grace of God. Did God know before we were born if we would accept Christ or not accept Christ? He knows everything. If he knows everything, why didn’t he just have only believers born? Because born knowledge is not the same as trusting. He knows everything because he is God.
He doesn’t choose everything. He only knows everything. He created us in his image which includes the ability to make choices, moral choices, right and wrong that we’re responsible for the result of. I could make a good Calvinist. But it’s not biblical. That’s what they do ask. The Calvinist answer to that is not biblical. Oh no. No, it’s logical but not biblical. But I’m not interested in being correct tonight. I just want to challenge your lines. I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 15.
1 Corinthians chapter 15. Now this verse so simple, so clear. Look what he says there in verse 22, for as in Adam all die. Even so in Christ shall all be made alive. See in Adam everybody dies in Christ everybody so is all the same people? But they’re all as all. All is all. All in Adam will die and all those in Christ will And they say, oh, that means everybody that was born is going to be, is anybody born in Christ, a place in Christ that wasn’t born in the world?
That was all of them, so all of them. How did they kill? Only ones in Christ are born again. In Christ. That’s the ones in Christ. The ones that are born. Romans chapter 5 verse 18 will answer that. Look in Romans. Romans in chapter 5. Romans chapter 5. I want you to look at verse 18. Romans chapter 5 verse 18, therefore as by the offense of one, judgment came upon all men to condemnation. Even so by the righteousness by one, the free gift came upon all men.
See there? All men lost, all men saved. And Adam, they all lost and cried, everybody saved. So that’s why I believe that in universalism, it’s universal. It’s the whole world is going to heaven. This is Romans. Romans in chapter five. Talk with chapter one that says it’s the power of God, salvation to everyone that we’ll leave it. Yes. That’s why I said, eventually everybody is going to hear the gospel. And if you read the book of Revelation, you’ll find out that even the angels are preaching preaching the everlasting gospel in 144,000.
That’s to get the remnant. Those that are left over, they’re going to hear it And they’re gonna believe.
