If God was to reveal in this room right here, right now, does God know every person in this room in this room who does not believe on Him. Does He know every person that does? He knows. I don’t know. Well, I know y’all are going to heaven because you see you came to church and you read in the Bible and you pray and you give money. I hope. No. But you know you don’t earn eternal life. It’s by grace.

Grace means unmerited. You don’t deserve it. So this is why this is so important. Now look in verse 64, some of you don’t believe. Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed, not and who should betray Him. So did Jesus know who believes on Him? What about His own disciples? He knew who believed, He knew who betrayed Him. And He said, therefore I say to you in verse 65, that no man can come unto me except that was given to him of my Father.

From that time, many of His disciples went back, walked no more with Him. In other words, those were regretful words. They didn’t understand what he was talking about. It’s just like this, people can come to church, and many do, and they’ll be going to church all over the world, and not understand a thing about how to go to heaven. Yet it can be told and explained, and yet many people, well, I’m gonna be good just in case. Then you don’t get it, you don’t get it.

You won’t go to heaven, you can’t be saved. Well, I’m gonna be good just in case means that you don’t believe that he really paid for all of your sins, And that’s all you have to do because you’re going to add to it. And God says, no, it’s either by grace and it’s free or you don’t get it. You either believe him or you don’t believe him. There is no plan A, B or CD. It’s just one way. Now get this.

He says in verse 67, he says, will you also go away? Simon Peter said, Lord, to whom shall we go thou hast the word to be turned to life. We believe in our sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God. Jesus answered them, have not I chosen you 12? And one of you is a devil? Didn’t he know that? He already knew that. He spoke of Jesus’ carry at the Son of Simon, for it is he that should betray him.

How would you like to have that name that you betrayed God in the flesh? He came into the world and you’re the one that squealed. And when it was dark and nobody else knew how to tell who he was in the dark because Jesus looked just like the rest of them. He said, well, the one that I kiss, that’s the one. And so that’s why He betrayed him with a kiss. Now, go back there to Matthew in chapter 26, chapter 26.

And notice what He has here, because this is so important down through here. He says, Aaron verse 24, the Son of Man goes as it is written of Him, but woe to that man, By home the Son of Man is betrayed. It had been good for that man if he had not been born.” Now think about that statement. Jesus knew but He chose him to be a disciple, the following. Could Judas have believed on the Lord? He could have and He says it had been best if this man had never been born.

Well wait a minute, whose decision was him to be born? Wasn’t that God’s decision? Was it God who led him live? Wasn’t the Lord himself that made him a disciple? Didn’t God know he was going to deny him? Betray him? But he had a choice that he could have made. Do you realize every person who rejects Christ as Savior? Every person who dies and goes to hell. It would have been best if they had never been born. It would have been if they had never been born than to live and to reject Jesus Christ.

You say, well then why did God let him be born? Because he gave him the opportunity to go to heaven and how wonderful and blessed didn’t he do that for me? I’m glad God allowed me to be born. And I’m thankful that somebody brought the gospel to me. And I’m thankful that I trusted Christ as my Savior, and that I’ll have eternal bliss for eternity. I’m thankful, but it was a choice that I had to make. And I made that decision when I was 18 years old.

I didn’t understand a lot of stuff. All I know is that what that man told me was true. I’m going to bust hell wide open. And I would have gone to hell. But because of the mercy of the Lord, somebody explained it to me. And I’ve told people this before. In 75 years, I’ve only had one man ever witnessed to me, one. And in the last 56 and a half years, nobody has witnessed to me. And all the churches I’ve been to, all the countries that I’ve been to, I’ve been everywhere.

Nobody has ever tried to win me to Christ, except my father-in-law. And he knew the only hope for his daughter was to get Yankee saved. And he led me to Christ. But he says here, it has been good for that man if he had not been born. Now let me just mention this to you. After you trust Christ as your Savior, you made the greatest decision in all the world to go to heaven. God didn’t take you yet. He still left you here.

How many years has he given you since you trusted the Lord? 10, 15, 20, 30? Did you know that if you do not serve the Lord, Lord. It would have been better for God to have taken you on home. Think about it. It would have been better for God just to take you on home, but God gave you the choice, gave you a chance, an opportunity to love the Lord, this side of the grave, to talk about how much He’s done for you, to brag on the Lord, and to try to accomplish some great things for the Lord.

You’d be surprised all all the opportunities God’s given to us, how wonderful it is to serve Him. I would rather have it than not have it. You know, God could have done all this stuff and never have created me. I would have never known anything was ever done. I wouldn’t have never been here. But I’m glad that God allowed me to be born and allowed me to be born where I could hear the gospel and trust Christ as my Savior.

But see, God gave me choices. And I have been in a lot of places I’ve been in different countries and I’ve seen people and some will trust the Lord and some will not. Some will believe, some will not believe. Nobody makes you believe. You can’t make a person become a Christian. You’re not a Christian because you were born in a Christian home. Well, my mom and dad are Christians. I get in. No, no, no, no, no, no. It’s an individual thing.

Every person must trust the Lord. Now get this. Down in verse 25, then Judas, which betrayed him, answered and said, Master, is that I, He said to Him, Thou have said. And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed it, and break it, and gave it to His disciples, as taking this is my body. And He took the cup, gave things, and gave it to them, saying, drink ye all of it. For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sin.

Now when He says, take this bread and This is my body. Well, wait a minute, he knew that wasn’t his real body. Why? Because he’s still setting there in his real body. In that yet, he’s really got his real blood in his body. So this wasn’t his real blood. And many Catholics will try to tell you that in trans-sistensiation where it becomes the body and the blood of Christ. And that’s how you get Christ inside of you. That is not true.

It’s a symbol. It represents something. The bread represents the body and the grape juice represents the blood. It is not the blood and is not the body. Now get what he says. In verse 29, but I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it, knew with you in my Father’s kingdom. He said, I’m coming back. I’m going to shed my life, my blood, but I’m coming back.

And especially to the nation of Israel, it’s gonna be concerning the kingdom, but you and I have a different story. But now notice the last part of verse 28. For this is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. When you trusted Christ as your savior, that payment he made was put to your account and other places where it uses the word remission is the same as forgiveness of sins. God forgives you of everything you have ever done.

And it doesn’t matter how bad you have been, or how bad you will be, all sin covered, paid for. Because he’s not coming back tomorrow to pay for what we did today. He’s already done it 2,000 years ago. So when you accept the payment Christ made on the cross for you, then you have a payment for your sins. And if I got a payment for my sins, the reason I can’t go to hell is because I don’t have any sins to pay for.

All my sins are paid. That’s the only way you can know that you’re born to heaven is I don’t have any sins to pay for. Christ died for my sins, five words, and yet are so very, very powerful. I want you to take your Bible very quickly and look there in the book of Romans in chapter 5. Romans in chapter 5. Here, Romans in chapter 5, I want you to see this verse. Look in verse 17, because sometimes you’ll see the word many.

In some place you’ll see the word all. In verse 17, he says, for if by one man’s offense, death rained by one. That’s talking about Adam in the Oton Garden. Much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one Jesus Christ. So in Adam, we’re all born, we all die. But in Christ, when you trust Him as your Savior, He gives you eternal life, the gift of righteousness, where God will make you as righteous as God.

That means He forgives you of everything you have ever done and make you perfect in righteousness in God’s eyes. Notice in verse 18, therefore as by the offense of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation. So all is in reference in comparison to the one. Even so by the righteousness of one, the free gift of came upon all men under justification, one and many are all. Verse 19, for as by one man, disobedience, many were made sinners. But the word many refers to all.

So by the obedience of one Christ, shall many be made righteous. That’s all that are born into his family. So all who are born in the human family are all sinners. And all those that are born into God’s family by the new birth is all made righteous. And God gives us the free gift of everlasting life. Now, I want you to take your Bible now and turn to the book of Mark chapter 14. But the Bible says that they went out that night in verse 30 and they sung the hymn.

You see, what did they sing? It had to be amazing grace. Everybody knows that. But the book of Mark chapter 14, Mark chapter 14, and look at verse 10. In verse 10 says, And Judas is carried at one of the 12 went unto the chief priests to betray him unto them. And when they heard it, they were glad, promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him. So now he’s looking for the opportunity on how to betray Christ.

And so now verse 17, In the evening, he’d come up with the 12. And as they said, they did eat. And Jesus said, very I see any one of you which eat it to me shall betray me. And they began to be sorrowful and to say unto one of them, one by one, is it I? Another said, is it I? Now one of the things that Judas sort of said, when he asked the question, he says, is it I?

He should have said, it is I and got things right. but it was a choice and he did betrayed the Son of God. And you’ll notice what he says here in verse 21, “‘The Son of Man indeed goeth as it is written of him, “‘but woe to that man, by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. “‘Good were it for that man if he had never been born.'” So he didn’t ask to be born, don’t have to, which one of y’all asked to be born?

I never asked to be born. Nobody asked me. I was a surprise. Most of us in this room were probably surprises. But we’re here. And we believe that God created us. Now, once you’re born, God gives us opportunities. He has revealed himself by the world that he made and by the word that he gave. So whether it’s the world that works up on your conscience the power of raising or the Word of God that works by the power of revelation where God uses reasoning.

The world is here and I didn’t make it and neither did you. And by the revelation that we would not know the things about God if God had not revealed them in His Word. So God has revealed these things to us. Now look in verse 22, and as they did eat, Jesus took bread and blessed and and break it and gave to them and said, take, eat, this is my body.” Now, at this point, I do not believe that Judas was here, because the other scripture tell us that whenever he told him, he had dipped his hand in the soft with me, and therefore he had told him that they were going to do this.

But somebody’s going to betray me and he says, and what they’ll do is do quickly and he went out immediately. Then they had the communion service. Now whether he was there for that, I’m not sure. But in verse 26 they sung to him. And Jesus told him, says, this night all shall be offended in verse 27, because of me this night. For it is written, I will smite the shepherd, the sheep shall be scattered. But after that I am risen.

I will go before you in the Galilee. And Peter said unto them, although all shall be offended, yet will not I. Or we’re glad he kept that right. Remember, this is right after communion service. You see, one of the things when they said, is that I is that I is that I? Every one of them did a little soul searching. Is it me? Is it me? You see, that’s one of the reasons for the Lord’s Supper, because the Lord’s Supper’s cause you’re supposed to examine yourself.

How are you doing? Do you really understand the purpose of the Lord’s Supper? The Passover that they had and what they were to remember, what God had done for them? Do you realize how important it is for us to remember that we We have been given a trust and are we going to betray that trust that God gave to us? You see, that body you are enjoying right now, that body you have, does that belong to you or does it belong to the Lord?

Where is the temple of God? Is it over in Jerusalem or is it our bodies or the temple of the Holy Spirit? So does God have a right after He bought me and paid for me, set me free? Does He have a right to expect anything from me? Does He? God, who do you think you are? Tell me what I can and cannot do, how I should live. It’s my life. You realize there’s only one step between you and death, one heartbeat, and He can take it any time He wants.

Or you can be like the person, you know, it’d been best if that person had never been given the opportunity to serve the Lord because they wasted their life, just like He told at Judas, who did not believe on the Lord, but He could have, but He did not, been best if He had never been born. And I think that’s the most hideous thing I can think of, is the people who spend an eternity separated from God in a literal fire burning hell for all eternity.

And it didn’t have to be that way because it would have been different if God said you had to earn your way to heaven, you got to be good. Well, what if he is free? It’s free. And all you had to do was believe he did it for you, that he died and paid for your sins on the cross. So you go down through here and they find out that lo and behold, every one of the disciples betrayed him, every one of them did.

Take your Bible and look very quickly in the book of Luke Luke chapter 22. And Luke 22, you’ll notice one of the problems that Judas had. You see, he had not believed on the Lord. He was a disciple, which is a follower or a learner. And a lot of people who can follow Christian logic and principles and so forth and never trust Christ as their Savior. So he says there in verse 1 of chapter 22, now the Feast of young 11 bread, June night, which is called the Passover.

Cheap priests and the scribes saw how they might kill him, for they feared the people. Then entered Satan into Judas, Sir Name is Kerry, a bin of the number of the 12. Now, lots of things happen, but they wanted to find a way how can we kill him? Absence of the multitude, slash part of verse six. Absence of the multi-colors, they were afraid of the people. So they knew that Jesus had this place, that he would go to the garden of Gethsemane.

And there he would meet with his disciples. And Jesus that night asked his disciples, over and over again, will you pray for me? Will you pray for me just one hour? What did they do? They went to sleep. At his darkest moment, when he really needed them, they forsook him. And whenever they got there, the Bible says they all forsook him and fled. All of them. This is their night of their graduation. This is final exam. They all failed their final exam.

So down in verse 7, they came the day of unleavened bread when the Passover must be killed. The day was there. And it says in verse 14, and when the hour was come, he sat down in the twelve apostles with him. He goes on down here and tells you pretty much the same thing. But each one reveals just a little bit more. But you’ll notice. He says in verse 20, likewise also the cup after supper, after supper, they had already a after supper.

This cup is the New Testament in my blood, which is shed for you. But, see that word but, you ought to circle it. Before the hand of him that betrayed me is with me on the table. So he was told then immediately what sover thou do us do quickly. When he left, then they had, I believe their communion service. Of course that’s maybe a little Yankee ology thrown in there. And that’s the best way I can improve this is by the things that I’m stating.

But I believe it’s important for everyone of God’s children to understand how important it is. I do not want to be an individual that betrays. the Lord. I’ve only got one life to live, one trip through, no instant replays, no reruns, one chance to live. And as a little statement I learned years ago and it kind of ringed in my mind sometimes and sometimes I remember and sometimes I don’t always get all the words but it goes something like this.

When I stand at the Judgement Sea of Christ and He shows his plan for me. The plan of my life had he had his way and I see how I checked him here and I checked him there and I would not yield my will. Will there be grief in my Savior’s eyes, grief though he loves me still. He would have me rich and I stand there poor, stripped of all but his grace while memory runs like a haunted dream down the paths I cannot we trace.

Lord of the years that have left for me, I give them into thy hand to take me and break me, to mold me and make me into the pattern that thou hast planned. God wants to use every one of us for His honor and for His glory. But it isn’t in a shame if so many of God’s children betray that trust and will not allow God to use them for His honor and for His glory. That’s why God left you here.

And that’s why Paul says over and again, because our preaching is not in vain. And your faith is not in vain because Christ came back from the dead. He is alive. And because of that, the ye steadfast and unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. For as much as you know that your faith is not in vain, your labor is not in vain in the Lord. But your life is in vain if you don’t serve Him. And you can betray that trust.

So what I want want you to do this morning. As we partake of the Lord’s Supper, realizing why we do it, why it’s written the way that it is on the night that Jesus was betrayed and then they have communion service. Do you feel that you can honestly partake of the Lord’s Supper if you’re betraying Him? That’s something you have to decide. I’m not God. We don’t check. all we know is this. This is, has nothing, doesn’t save you.

Doing this doesn’t get you eternal life. Like some of God’s children I believe, He says, some are sick and some are weak and some are dead because they do not discern the Lord’s body. They don’t examine themselves the way they should. And you as a child of God, each one of us are to examine ourselves and see whether or not, are there things in my life that I need to get corrected, taken care of. You see, if you don’t keep this in memory, you will betray your walk with the Lord.

You’ll give up something for it because remember Judas is just what will you give me? If I don’t serve God, what are you going to give me? Make it worth my while. And I can’t see giving up eternal wealth, eternal values for anything that’s temporal. up here, letting this hand represent you and me. The wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. Now God, He loves us. Now He hates what we do wrong, but He loves us. And the Bible says that all of us have sinned.

So we’ve all done things wrong. But keep it separate, God loves you. He hates the sin. And to pay for sin is eternal separation from the Lord in a literal fire burning hell. But God loves us and wants us to go to heaven. But He says to go to heaven, you have to be as righteous as God, as perfect as God is. Nobody is because heaven is perfect and we got to be perfect to be there. But we’ve all sinned.

We’ve all come short of God’s perfection. So God says you cannot earn eternal life. That’s why you’re not trying to depend upon your works to get you to heaven. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord. God in the flesh came into this world, took upon a body, lived for thirty-two and a half years without sin. So he didn’t have to die. He was not guilty. But he loved us. But he hates our sin because our sin separates us from him.

So we could never be together with God because we’re separated by sin. So we couldn’t do anything about it. But he could. He took all the sin of all the world, paid for it on the cross and came back from the dead, and said that if we would believe that he did it for us, he would put this payment our account and we get to go to heaven on what Jesus Christ did. If offered you this microphone and you accepted you have a microphone.

I offered you my Bible and you accepted you’d have a Bible. I offered you my wallet and you accepted you’d have an empty wallet. But if Christ walked in here right now and offered you eternal life and you accept it, what would you have? Eternal life. If it’s eternal life, how long would it last? Forever. If it lasts forever and all your sins are paid, where would you go when you die? So can you know you’re going to heaven before you die?

It’s the only way is because it’s free. Depends upon your work, you’ll never know. Because you’re not going to be good enough. You don’t have to live a good life. You have to live a perfect life from the time you were born. Sorry. Nobody can earn it. It’s a gift of God. It’s the best news I ever heard in my life. Let’s pray, shall we? The heads bow nice, close, and no one looking around. If you’re here and you have never trusted Christ as your Savior, would you believe that when Christ died, He died for you?

Would you trust Him right now as your only hope of going to heaven? God said, if you’ll trust Him, He’ll save you. Give me eternal life. He’ll put that payment He made to your account. You get to go to heaven or what He did for you. I’m gonna ask you in just a moment to raise your hand. Raising your hand doesn’t save you. Just let’s me know that what I said made sense to you. And you’re saying, preacher, I will trust Christ as my Savior this morning.

Now, if you’ve already done it, you don’t need to do it=-=-=-=-. You’re saying, yes, that made sense to me. I’m not gonna have you forward, not gonna embarrass you. You don’t have to sign anything. I just want to believe something. Well, you believe that when Christ died, He died for you. You believe He loves you. And then if you trust Him right now, He’ll save you and give you eternal life. Don’t you want to go to heaven? I hope that you do.

And if you will, trust Christ as your Savior. I’d like to have prayer for you. And I’m gonna ask you, if you’ll just slip your hand very quickly, put it right back down. Just slip it up very quickly, put it right back down. Yes, God bless you, God bless you and you. Anyone else just quickly or just slip it up and put it right back down. Are there others? Yes, God bless you. Anyone else? Remember, if you trust Christ right now, He saves you right now, gives you eternal life right now.

When you get up to leave, you can say, I have eternal life and I’m going to heaven when I die because I believe Christ died and paid for all of my sins. Anyone else before we close? Anyone else? Our Father, we thank you so much for those who have indicated by an uplifted hand that they would trust His Savior. By doing so, we know according to You, where You give them eternal life. You’ll never cast them out, never lose them.

We ask Father, Your blessings upon each one of them. And Lord, You put a hedge of pothom and protect them. that they’ll get a good Bible and read and study it, learn to talk to you through prayer, not some stilted made of speech. But Father, get into a good Bible believing and teaching church where they can grow. We ask your blessing to bond each one here. And Father, we consider this moment, this hour, of what you’ve done for us.

Help us to examine ourselves as we should in Christ’s name we pray. Amen. Are you a new listener to Bibleline? Do you enjoy the teachings of Dr. Arnold?
