Now there’s about 300 and something prophecies fulfilled in the crucifixion of Christ and what we call the top passion of Christ. All that he went through. The Christ coming into this world. The birth, everything, what nation, what tribe, what family, that he would be the king of Israel. All these things prophesied on how to be treated, how to be rejected. A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Now he said, I will pour upon the house of David and about the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and of supplication.

And they shall look upon me whom they have pierced. That’s in the book of Zechariah. That’s right before Malachi, right before the book of Matthew beginning over 400 years in between those. And yet we have the Scriptures telling us that when he comes, he’ll be pierced. And they shall look upon me whom they have pierced. If Jesus Christ is not the Messiah. Whenever the Messiah is supposed to come in the future, he’ll have to do everything Jesus has already done.

He’ll have to be born in Bethlehem, Africa, because that’s where he’s supposed to be born. It says in the book of Micah 5, 2, he says, though I’ll be little among the thousands of Judea, I’m not Bethlehem, Africa. He scathing out of thesevg, he comes forth that isollow to be ruler in Israel, who’s going forth and been a bold everlasting. In other words, he never had to be getting, he never had an ending, the one that’s going to be born.

and a virgin shall conceive and bear son. And his name shall be called Wonderful Counsel of the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. That’s what his name, that’s who he is. He would be called Emmanuel, which is God with us. Jesus Christ is not the first and last name like you and I have. Jesus means Jehovah, God, took up on flesh and became the Messiah. the one that was gonna make the payment for the sins of the world.

So Jesus tries, yes, he came into the world but why did he do it? You watched the movie called Passion and some of the other things like I said earlier, but they never tell you why. And it doesn’t give a person any more hope than what they had. Just because they came back from the dead, what now? You see, if you don’t know where you’re going, when you die, he died in vain. He died so that you can know that you have, I’m like, know that you’re going to heaven because there was no other way.

If you could earn your salvation by being a good little boy and a good little girl, then why did Christ have to die? He wouldn’t have had to die. You see, why, why, why? Well, the Bible says over and over again, Christ died for our sins. Five words. That’s why he was born. That’s why he lived a perfect life. so that he could be a spotless lamb with no fault, no defects, without blemish. And he would down the cross and pay for our sins.

You see, you and I, the Bible says, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Short of God’s perfection, we all have sinned. And because we have all sinned, we’re all guilty. because we’re all guilty, the wage is the sin is death. So to pay for sin is not going to church, paying for sin is not giving money. Paying for sin is not trying to live a good life. Paying for sin means the wages of sin is death.

That’s why Jesus Christ had to die. The heavy debt of sin upon the whole world, all of us have sinned. We owe a debt. Suppose you only sin three times a word, an action or a thought. That’s only a thousand sins a year. And that’d be a good year, wouldn’t you say? How many thousands of your sins separate you from God? Only one sin. Whosoever shall keep the whole law and offend in one point is guilty of how many?

All of them. You are in debt and God is going to collect. You owe God a death payment. We earn the right to die. We earn the right to be spend our eternity in hell. We earn that. We deserve that because we’re, see there’s a place called heaven, but it’s perfect. No sin allowed there, but we’re sinners by nature and we’re sinners by choice. Even though you know what to do that’s right, you still fail. You don’t always do what you should do.

You sin against a holy God, and we are accountable to God. Now, if I don’t want the guilt, then I just deny the sin. And so that’s why people wanna have laws that justify their sin. Homosexuality is a sin. But if you make it right, it’s not wrong. No guilt, no guilt, no shame. Avoiding little babies, a sin. But if it make it right, there’s no guilt, no guilt, no shame. But we cannot override the laws of God. God’s word is still true.

And all of us have sinned against God. Jesus’ death paid for our sin. And the only way he could do that is he couldn’t have any sin. That’s why he says, and the Bible talks about this in Christ, that he made a payment for our sins, that we could have the righteousness of God put to our account. In him is no sin. And because there’s no sin in him, Christ became sin for us. He calls He new no sin, that we, you and I, might be made the righteousness of God in Him.

So He was perfect and we’re not. But what if God would give you His perfection and take your sin? He died in your place, gives you His righteousness and you go to heaven. So He paid for the sins of the world, but His righteousness you must receive. That’s why when you accepted the payment he made, God gives you his righteousness. And if he gives you his righteousness, that makes you as righteous as God. And you go to heaven, oh, what he did for you.

That’s why he died so that you could go to heaven and know it. Look at me. I couldn’t go to hell if I tried. There’s no way possible for me to go to hell. You say, how do you know that? Christ died for my sins. Keep this in mind. The Passover lands were unblemished. That means it without a defect. The innocent must die for the guilty, in order for the guilty to go free. And see, even when God gave the law to Israel, they sinned.

And because they sinned instead of killing all the people, because they wouldn’t live very long. If God killed you every time you send, you could only commit one, then that’s it. So he made a way, an innocent lamb, or an innocent bull, or an innocent little dove could take the place, and something innocent dies that had nothing to do with your sand. He said, that’s just not right. Then you choose the other. You get to go to hell if you want.

God will not make you believe this. So he had his own lamb come into the world, Jesus Christ. And he says, a body has not prepared me. And so Jesus Christ who lived a sinless life was able to die in our place. If he had sin, he’d have to pay for his own. He had no sin, he didn’t have to die. You see, God says that he made Jesus a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death because angels don’t die.

God doesn’t die. So he came into the world and lived in a body and Mary was used by God to produce a body so that the Son of God could live in this body and He would grow up and live without sin, fulfill the demands of the law. And take our place. Natural man could never have dreamed up such a plan of salvation. The whole thing is truly of God. You see, the past several ends were roasted whole without any legs broken.

In the book of Exodus in chapter 12, he says, in one house shall it be eaten thou shall not carry forth out of the flesh. And he says, abroad out of the house, neither shall ye break a bone thereof. No bones were to be broken. So when Jesus Christ went to the cross, none of his bones were broken before or after. Christ must have died for our sins, since it was so prophetic and certain that the reason given must be the truth.

If Jesus Christ came into this world today and he fulfilled all those Old Testament prophecies and he was alive today, well if he did all of that. And he says, now I’m going to die and pay for the sins of the world. But when I do, I’m going to come back from the dead. If he had just died and was buried into the story, then he’s no different than any other man. The only thing that makes him different from somebody who died, other people died on the cross.

Other people were buried. But one thing no other man has ever done is come back from the dead. him coming back from the dead tells you that the reason he did it must be the truth and he said he did it for you to pay for your sins. That’s why you don’t have to go to church to go to heaven. You do not have to give any money to go to heaven. You don’t have to pray through and hang on and let go and let…

No, no, no. There is only one thing you must do and that is to believe he did it for you. When you believe He did it for you, then you trust in nothing else to get you to heaven because all of your sins are paid. You have a debt that’s been settled and you are going to heaven because of what Christ did for you. So I don’t go to church so I can go to heaven when I die. I don’t try to live a good life so that I can go to heaven when I die.

I’m already going to heaven. I’ve known that for 56 and a half years. The true Lamb of God, when John saw Jesus, after he baptized him, he says, the dove came upon and behold, the Lamb of God that take of the way the way the way. Sin of the world. That’s what he said. The Roman soldiers of why break his legs? He keep with all his bones, not one of them is broken. Jesus didn’t determine that. That’s a fulfillment of prophecy.

You can’t make yourself be born at a certain time, did you? Did you make yourself male or female? That’s the only two kinds of people there are. There are no such thing as transvestite. They don’t exist. You’re either male or female. And if you don’t know which one you are, come see me. The reason they did not break his legs is because he was what? Already dead. Christ was already dead. You can’t have a resurrection unless you first have a dead man.

So Christ was alive and then he was dead. Then he was alive again. So the Bible says he was raised again. Doesn’t mean he was raised twice. Raised again means he was alive and then he was dead and now he is alive again. Raised again means he’s alive again and called Christ is alive. The burial of Christ proved he was truly dead. There was a tomb burial. The rapid in burial in about a hundred pounds of spices proved that he was truly dead.

He died for you. But how do you know that Christ’s death actually paid for our sins? the resurrection. He told you what he was going to do, why was doing it, and then he did it. So when we talk about salvation, we’re talking about we must believe that he is who he came to be. He said he was God in the flesh. Remember in the book of John chapter 1, he says, in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him without Him was not anything made that was made. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. And we beheld His glory. The glory is of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth. Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. And the resurrection is the proof of what He said and what He did. And why did it? You see Jesus Christ wants you to know these things.

Who is? And what he said was he didn’t believe it on me half everlasting life. And the only reason that’s possible, because you need to believe what he did, he paid for your sins. He died, paid for your sins, came back from the dead. He said, now if you believe I did that for you, then I’ll put that payment I made to your account. See the payment for the sins of the world has already been made, but the payment is not put to your account until you believe he did it for you.

That’s why it is so important to understand that yes, when Christ died, he says these words, it is finished. The songs that they sung this morning was all about this. In the beautiful fragrance that satisfied the rightistic man’s of God was that payment Christ made. Paid in for. Jesus Christ is my living proof of payment. You see the scars in his hands, scars in his feet. That means I have a living receipt, a proof of payment. As long as Christ is alive, I have a payment receipt that I paid my debt.

you go to the restaurant, they’ll give you a receipt. I even go to McDonald’s and they’ll give me a receipt just for a cup of coffee. I get a receipt. That means I paid for it. Christ is my receipt. He came back from the dead. He’s alive forever more. So that’s why anybody wants to charge me with a sin paid. Yeah but you You kicked that dog. Paid. You lied. Paid. You said you don’t deserve that. Let me tell you again.

Ephesians 2, 8, 9 says this. Two of my favorite verses. Four by grace are you saved. What is grace? Grace means unmerited. You see, people don’t believe it can be that easy. It can’t be that simple. It’s gotta be hard and complicated. It’s got to be the results of you living right. And if you don’t live right, you ought not go to heaven. All the bad people ought to go to hell. Only good people ought to go to heaven.

But the problem is there’s no good people. You see, well, how good you have to be? Perfect. How you doing? If you’re not perfect, you’re not doing so good. So that’s why you need a savior. And there’s only one. And so Jesus Christ went to that cross and He paid for our sins. So who really crucified Jesus? Yes, we know that the Jews did it, the Romans did it. And the Bible says that as they talk to them there in the book of Acts in chapter two, Peter says, ye, my wicked hands have taken the Holy One and have crucified him.

So his love for me put him on that cross. You see, if there was nobody else in this whole world and I was the only sinner that was, glad I’m not, but if I was the only one, I believe he would have come and died just for me. His love for me put him on that cross because there was no other way for me to be justified because I’ve sinned against a righteous, Justin, holy God. You see, he loved you so much that he would rather die than live without you.

That’s how much you are loved. You are loved and he loved you that much and all he wanted you to do is the only thing you can do. Don’t ever think for a moment that trying to live a good life is gonna help you get to heaven. It, well, it’ll help. No, it doesn’t help. If you don’t accept Christ as your Savior, you don’t go. He said, I’m the way, the truth and life. No man comes unto the Father, but by me.

Not by your good works, not by the church, not by confession, not by penance, not by communion service, not by baptism. There is nothing else that you can have, nothing else that you can do. And if Christ be not risen, then our preaching is vain. Your faith is also vain if he’s not risen. But is Christ risen? Did he come back from the dead? What must I do to be saved to have eternal life? To go to heaven, it all means the same thing.

To be saved means to have eternal life. To have eternal life means to go to heaven. So they go to heaven means to be saved, but it also means to have eternal life. if you have eternal life is because you’re saved. But some people say, well, I’m saved, but do you have eternal life? Well, I don’t know. I’ve been saved. Praise the Lord. Where are you going tonight? Hell, if I don’t change, then you don’t get it. He that believed on me hath everlasting life.

Get this. Believe that Christ. You Did this for you? Well, what did he do? Don’t say, well, he did it for the whole world. I know you, but he did it for you as an individual. Your mom and daddy can’t get you to heaven. You are not born into this world as a Christian. Cause I was born in a Christian home. You might have been born in a Christian home. That don’t make you a Christian. I ain’t walking to my garage.

I don’t make me an automobile. If you can believe in the resurrection, you can believe this. You can believe this. Because that’s why he did what he did. And he coming back from the dead means I have a good reason to trust him. Because nobody else has ever done that before. You ever heard of this verse, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. That get this, whosoever does what? That’s all it says is you have to do.

Whosoever, that means anybody. Believe it. In him. should not perish that means won’t go to hell, but have everlasting life, John 3 16. So the only thing you have to do to go to heaven is to believe that what Christ did, He did it for you. So you believe what He did, you believe what He said. What He did was He paid for your sins. What He said was, I did it for you, will you believe that? You can understand that much.

It’s the most important thing you will ever do in your life. Now, let me show you an illustration. I just thought of this. I thought it would be a good illustration to show you this morning. A little bit very, very closely. Letting this hand represent you and me. The wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. God loves us. But the Bible says that he hates our sin. And how many people have sinned?

Everybody. If you’re not perfect, you’re a sinner. Hello. The pay for that sin is what puts me in debt, puts you in debt. So the whole world is in debt to God. That’s why every man sins, every man dies. We’re all going to die, it’s just a matter of time. But God loves us and wants us to go to heaven. To go to heaven, you have to be perfect, no sin. Now God doesn’t have a good heaven, you only got a perfect heaven.

That’s why you have to be perfect to go there, nobody’s perfect. So how are you going to get there? And so religions, and there’s a multitude of them, are always telling you, you got to change. You got to stop being bad, start being good, start doing all the nice things. And if you do it long enough and hard enough, you might make it, but you’ll have to wait till you die to find out if you’re good enough. And then God will put the scales out there, put your good works on this side, and all your bad ones on this side.

And whichever one outweighs the other determines which way you go. You really want to wait to that day? You don’t have to, I can tell you right now. He’s already says, not by works of righteousness which we have done, not according to your works. So you can’t use that. You can’t refer to anything the way you lived. So he says, you cannot save yourself. That’s why we needed a savior. Somebody pay for my sins that don’t have a debt.

Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. He had no sin, he didn’t have any debt to pay. So he could voluntarily, because he loved us so much. He would rather die than live without, think about it, he went to all that he did, and he would rather die than live without you. Then live without, he would rather die than live without you. Think about that. So he came back from the dead and he says, it’s so simple, so easy.

He said, all I want you to do is believe I did that for you. And when you try to earn your way to heaven, you’re spitting in his face. You’re rejecting his love. You see, he made a payment for your sins. Paid for the month of crossing came back from the dead. He said, the only thing he wanted you to do, the only thing you can do, would you believe he did that for you? You’re saved by grace, not by your works, would you believe it?

And when you believe it, the moment you believe it, he gives to you everlasting life. I know this is a difficult question, But how long do you think everlasting life is? To get sent again, then it’s not everlasting life. It’s temporary. Everlasting life means there’s nothing they can take it away. And when he gives you everlasting life, you can know that you’re going to heaven whenever you die. Because he, I don’t have any sense to pay for it. You said, do you deserve that?

No, I’m a dirty lousy stinking rotten sin and I ought to go to hell just like you. But I’m gonna go to heaven. because 56 years ago in a little old living room, I was 18 years old, and my father-in-law explained this to me. And I couldn’t believe it. I just knew it couldn’t be that easy. And I stood up and I walked over, I was gonna go outside, and I started a balling. I didn’t go to church. My daddy was a bootlegger, it’s been mostly life in the chain chain.

I never saw my mom and dad inside of a church. I never saw them have a Bible in our home. I never saw them have prayer in our home. I was as lost as a hound ball when the end of a soup bone. But that night when I heard this, I could not stand it. I could not hold it back. I sobbed like a baby. I didn’t learn it from nobody else. This is just how it affected me. I couldn’t believe that I could absolutely know that I have eternal.

I know that I’m going to have them when I die. Then it was free. So that night I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. I believe he did that for me, for Lin-lo Yankee. And so I trusted the Lord and God saved me. And I’ve been saved all these years and he said, I’ll never cast you out, I’ll never lose you. Isn’t it nice knowing that you can have your turn life and go to heaven? If the Lord came back right now, how many of you know right now, positive, that if you died right now you go to heaven, let me see your hand, all right, put it down.

But that’s a lot of people. How many of you know you go to hell? No, don’t know what you’re doing. But if you’re here, these people that raise their hand, they’re not going to have them because they’re better than you. They’re sinners. They’ve admitted it. They just admitted they can’t save themselves. It’s a prideful person who won’t admit the truth. I’m a sinner. If I had to earn my way to heaven, I’ll never make it. You sure won’t because you got to be perfect.

So why not take the best and only way, except Jesus Christ is your savior? And if you trust him, he said he would save you and give you eternal life. When can he do that? He can do it right now, right in your own mind. Let’s pray, shall we? Every head bound, every eye closed, no one looking around. If you’re here this morning and you’ve never trusted Christ to say, yeah, you’ve heard about it. You’ve heard about this all your life maybe.

But have you ever personally, have you said, Lord, I will accept Jesus Christ as my savior? And if you do that right now, God said he would save you right now. And I’m gonna ask you in just a moment to raise your hand. Raising your hand does not save you. I’m not gonna ask you to come down the aisle. I don’t want anything from you. I don’t wanna embarrass you in any way. That’s why I do it with his bow and nice clothes.

But I’d like to know if what I said made sense. And I’d like to know if I could pray for you in closing. And I’d like to just ask you. So in the quietness of this moment, is there anyone at all say, yes, I will trust Christ as my savior this morning. I believe he did that for me. If you’ve never done it before, would you do it right now? I believe he did it for me. He died for me and I’m gonna trust him as my savior.

Would you just slip your hand very quickly and put it right back, right back down? He won it all. Just very quickly just slip it up and put it right back down. He won it all. There’s no tricks to it, no gimmicks. If you never trust it, crisis your savior. Now is a good time to do so. He won it all. Just very quickly just slip it up and put it right back down. Just come up like that and I see you.

He won it all. Our following thank you so much for all that you’ve done for us, for giving us the free gift of everlasting life. And Father, I pray that each person here understands that by simply trusting you as their Savior, you’ve guaranteed them eternal, eternal life, that you’ve never cast them out, never lose them, that they can know they’re going to heaven. We thank you for giving us a good day and thank you for the good music we’ve enjoyed in Christ’s name we pray.
