We can Acts 4. Acts 4, look in verse 10. Acts 4, verse 10. Be it known unto you all and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom He crucified whom God, and here it is again, raised from the dead. So whenever he talked about Jesus Christ and most of the cases here, he always throws that in there. He raised them from the dead. He was raised from the dead. Thus this man stand here before you whole.

Now let him know, hey, you killed him on the cross. You nailed him there. By wicked hands you have taken him in slain and you killed the prince of life, but he’s alive. And that’s why there’s power to heal. the lame and to make the blindest seed. All these things are called, there’s power in the resurrection of Christ. And you’ll find out that the power of the resurrection is the same power that lives inside of each one of us.

The power that raised of Christ from the dead has the same power that lives in each one of us. So we have power that we don’t tap, that we don’t use. And we don’t really understand the power of God and what it can do for us. But understand that we do have it. We may not use it. We may not even understand it all, but we have it. This is like coming into this building. We could come in here and all we do is light candles, but we’ve got electricity, but we don’t know how to get it on.

We don’t know, there’s little switches back there. You know, you can flip a switch and boom, there’s light. It’s like there’s power here, but we’re all still using candles because well, we don’t know how to use the lights. or I don’t know how it works. I don’t care how it works. I just wanna know, does it work? And I’m gonna use it, flicked on the lights. And so it’s one thing, we could have the power of cool air. We’ve got an air conditioner.

Now we gotta do a set that little thing on that wall over there and lo and behold, we can make it cool in here, right? Or we could all sit in here and fan ourselves. What I want to camp for the first time down in Boca Raton, Florida. I’ll never forget, they call it the hot box. There’s a room about this side, but it was just filled with kids and in the back they had a little balcony, and that’s where me and Hank Lindstrom was set up there and we’d talk and everything else is going on down here.

And I’m talking about, it was packed with about 350 teenagers in there. And there was no air condition. in July, it was hot, it was muggy. And all these kids said to Earth, and you know what? Nobody complained because they didn’t know how to compare it with anything up because there wasn’t their condition anywhere else either. You know, back in the late 60s, 64, when I went, they didn’t have their condition in there. They know the building, they didn’t have no air condition.

And so they had this great big old hotel, big hotel. The girls, they got to stay in the motel. The boys, they put them in this old rundown hotel. And we was on the second floor. And it had a great big old fan. Upstairs, like in the attic, and that fan was huge. I couldn’t reach from one side to the other side. It was a great big old fan. And they turned that thing on. And if you didn’t watch it, it’d pull you clean out of your bed and slice you up and throw you out to the…

You had to handcuff yourself to the bed, keep them getting pulled out. It was so strong. Well, maybe it was not quite that strong, but I mean, it was scary. But they had this great big old fan. They didn’t have any condition. And all of us were standing in the room. And one time I had, I told Ray about working with the football players and all. So he gave me scholarships. To get any football player I could to come to camp.

So I wound up getting 18 of the top football players in the state of Florida. Top football players. I mean quarterbacks, football backs. I mean the top players in the state. And he gave me the money, scholarships. And so I gave them, and they all came. And most of them was in my room. Biggest mistake I’ve ever made in my life. They may be good on the football field. But as far as their manners goes, and so forth, they were mean and obnoxious.

And they wanted to throw pillows and have pillow fights all night long and talk. And I had to put my bunk in front of the bed so they could not get out, which means I had to close the door, which means that I didn’t get that breeze that would come through there because of that great big old fan. And we’d swelter. I said, if you guys would be quiet, we can open the door and all that. And they would for about 15 minutes and then they’d go in again.

And so you paid a price. But no air condition. Isn’t it nice to be able just to turn the switch, set it and you can have it in your home, comfortable. You’re getting your cars and you can set the temperature. See, it can be there, but if you don’t know about it, you you don’t use it. There is power in the Christian life. And it’s far superior to any power in all the world. It’s the power that can raise the dead, make the blinders see the death they hear, the dumbness speaking, and God has given us that same power.

The power of the Bible says in the book of Genesis, and the spirit of the Lord moved upon the face of the deep. And that Holy Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead says in 1 Peter chapter 3 verse 18, quickened by the Spirit means made alive. Now that Holy Spirit in the book of Romans in chapter 8 talks about the Holy Spirit dwells in us and will quicken our mortal bodies one of these days. The power to change our physical bodies and make it like unto his glorious body is the power that already lives within us.

It’s not gonna come from outside, it’s already in us. And so we struggle because we don’t depend upon that power. We don’t trust what God says, we question Him. If you just do what God says do, you’d be surprised how much more you can do and the peace and joy you can have. The last Wednesday night John John spoke and he had a tremendous message. And it was a whole message on why we shouldn’t worry. why we shouldn’t worry.

It was awesome. Very good. And he’s just one of our college students. But I sat down here and I wasn’t meant to, the guy was good. He had a great message. And so, there’s always things that we need to know and to do. But now notice what he says here in chapter four, looking in verse 10. Be it known unto you all and do all the people of Israel and by, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

So we know who He is, not just anybody. It’s not just Jesus. See, Jesus Christ is Jehovah, the anointed one. The Messiah. That’s what Christ refers to. In the Old Testament, if you go back in the Old Testament, and every time you see the word Jehovah, or El Caput Old Carbon, just put Jesus in there. You’ll understand that. They understood who He was. That’s why Moses understood that he esteemed the reproach of Christ, greater treasures in all the treasures of Egypt.

So they knew about Christ, but it was Jesus Christ. It was Jehovah who was going to become the Messiah. But anyway, whom God raised from the dead by him, does this man stand here before you whole? So even though Jesus had died, paid for sin, came back from the dead, sent it into heaven, and He gave them the Holy Spirit. And they had power to do things in their light, these apostles, they could have done before. To show that because He was alive, look what you can do.

Now. Okay. Good. Okay. All right. All right. All right. Now that’s the answer I’ll add. All right. All right. I’ll just turn it over to the card. All right. I’ll go over and go over to the card. All right. All right. All right. You’ll read in the book of Philippians in chapter three after he made the statement and be found in him not having my own righteousness, which is the law, but that which is through the righteousness of Christ, the righteous which is God by faith.

Then the very next verse verse 10 says that I may know him and the power of his resurrection. In other words, I want to know what it’s like to live with power like that so that you have power over your sinful nature. Everybody has sinful nature. How would you like to live with victory over your sinful nature? You see, the world, they don’t have that power. All they’ve got is the old nature and the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, they can’t escape that.

That’s why it controls every one of them. But a man who knows the Lord and loves the Lord can have a power, the ability to do things that can keep you from falling in love with the world. But you got to have a greater love than the love of the world or the lust of the flesh Even though you have the lust of the flesh you can restrain yourself and love the Lord more and you can Control areas of your life that without the Lord you can’t do it.

There is power in what God’s word says Our problem is that we don’t believe that it will work This is why we take matters into our own hands and with why we blow up and get mad and angry we can be as wicked as the lost man, but we don’t have to be. We can be different. Now notice another verse, look in chapter 5, chapter 5 and look in verse 29. Look in verse 29, chapter 5, Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, we ought to obey God rather than men.”

Well that’s true today. So you’ve always got these decisions and sometimes it might class with government, might class with your neighbor, might class with those on the word, always obey the Lord, always do a train. Then notice what he says in verse 30, the God of our fathers raised of Jesus home ye slew and hanged on a tree. Did you see anything there about raising up Jesus? It’s everywhere. It’s through the scriptures and it talks about this. So if you want to know, is the gospel including the death, burial and resurrection, is that important that we need to add that into our gospel presentation?

Yes, it is that important. We want people to know who he is. Every time when I do the wall of the newspaper, let this hand represent Jesus Christ. God in the flesh. You ever hear me say that? God in the flesh. And he died and crossed and paid for all of our sins. I’m talking about the crucifixion. And then he came back from the dead.

You ever hear that? In other words, there’s a reason for it because I believe it’s a sequence. It help people to follow, understand. Now, look at verse 31, him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a prince and a Savior for to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. So the only reason sins can be forgiven is because the payment for the sins have been paid. All right, look at another verse. Look in Acts chapter 10.

Acts chapter 10, This is a good chapter. I’ve covered it so many times. But it talks about the Lord through here. But look in verse 39. And we are witnesses. Now this is Peter talking to the household of Cornelius, Gentiles. Notice what his message was. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, get this, whom they slew and hang on a tree. You think I was talking about the crucifixion?

Good possibility, huh? Then notice, in verse 40, him, God raised up the third day, showed him openly that God raised him up from the dead. So if he goes and he preaches to the household of Keneedal, does he tell him who he is, does he tell him what he did? Why he did it? And raise him from the dead. Now notice what he says. In verse 41, not to all the people but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

So they ate with him. You know, I love this verse because after the resurrection, now I get my new body, I can eat and not get fat. I want to get to eat all I want, and I want about a six foot E-clear to start with. No, they gave me one of those at the birthday party. That thing went so fast. I got one piece of it. But I went down to the V.I. and got another one about what, two feet long?

And it continued. And then everybody ate that one too. Except I got a piece to take home. So Lord is good. delight thyself in the Lord and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Just wait long enough and God bless. But now notice what he says in verse 42, and he commanded us to preach unto the people and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the judge of quick and dead to give all the prophets to him give all the prophets witness that through his name, whosoever, believe it in him shall receive remission of sins.”

Now he’s already told who he was. He died on the cross. He came back from the dead and anybody who believes it will accept that payment he made shall receive remission of sins. Yes or no? That’s right there. It tells the message that he preached. This was Peter. We already read about Paul in the book of Acts. I mean the book of about Corinthians. And Paul had the same message that Peter had and some people say, well, Peter’s message was different than Paul’s.

Duh, it wasn’t. You see, they cannot be two messages on how a man is saved. Because if you’re saved by grace, the only other way you can be saved is by works. There is no other way. It’s either free or you gotta earn it. So did they have different, but you can only get saved by grace. And if you’re saved by works, well, it doesn’t work because God says it’s not at works. And curse it as the man who twists or changes the gospel.

Well, you can’t twist or change the gospel or pervert it unless you had a work to it. So, how can it be a different gospel? It has to be the same message then. Man has always saved exactly the same way. Look in Acts 13, Acts chapter 13. And notice there in verse 22, we’ll start there in verse 22.

He says, and when he had removed him, he raised up unto them David to be their king. To him, or to whom also he gave testimony and says, I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after my own heart. You ever heard that phrase before? A man after my own heart. Isn’t it amazing to hear when he’s talking about David, it doesn’t talk about all the bad stuff he did. When you read the book of Hebrews, the Hall of Faith chapter.

Here’s all these heroes of the faith, and not one sin is mentioned against any of them. Because see, the new birth, there is no sin. It’s only the flesh, the over. When we get to heaven, God says, and the former things will be remembered no more. I’m almost there now. I’m already working on that now. But the glories of that is to realize that there’s coming a time when we’re not going to miss the people who’ve never been born into our family.

Or here you are, you’ve got to, there’s me and Betty and we’ve got three kids. We don’t miss the kids that were never born. So when we get together in heaven as a spiritual family, we’re not going to miss the people that were never born. And God says the form of things will be remembered no more. Now how is he going to do all that? I don’t know. Or when is he going to do it? He talked about in heaven of course.

And after the judgments and all that. But there evidently is going to be some remembrance for a while because even those in heaven right now rejoice over every person who trusts the Lord. they must know about those people that are on the earth and when they get saved, they’re rejoicing in heaven. So yes, right now there’s a knowledge and there’s a remembrance, but God says somewhere along the line, He’s going to wipe away the remembrance of all these other things that are all bad.

Otherwise you have grief and sorrow all the way through heaven because if you can remember all the bad things you did and all the time you let down and you failed, you messed up. Wouldn’t it be terrible for eternity to keep running your mind over all that bad stuff you’ve done? Just think when you get to heaven, you won’t remember all the things that Warren did done here or what Len did over there. You won’t never remember that. Wouldn’t that be great?

Because in heaven’s we’re all perfect. So praise the Lord that day is on its way and we’re going to be there. Now look what he says in verse 23. Of this man’s seed, talking about David, through his line, hath God, according to his promise, raised unto Israel a Savior, and what’s his name? So it’s important to know who this Jesus is. It’s the one that was talked about in the Old Testament. It’s that one that the prophets witnessed to and about.

So here you have all these wonderful statements that have been made. And he says, raised him up. And so they preached the death, the barrel and the resurrection of Jesus. Try it. Just look at this very quick. Look in verse 38 and 39, same chapter, same chapter, 38 and 39, be it known unto you therefore men and brethren, he says that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins. And by him all that believe are justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.

So Christ came back from the dead and right before these two verses, right before these two verses about how wonderful of is and through this man is priests and need the forgiveness of sins and so on. You had no judge what he says there in verse 36, it’s even verse 35. Wherefore he said also in another Psalm referring to the Old Testament, thou shall not suffer thine holy one to seek corruption. It means the holy one, Jesus Christ, the Messiah is going to die but he’s not going to see corruption.

He’s He’s going to come back from the dead. And verse 36, for David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep and was laid unto his fathers and saw corruption. His body did. But in verse 37, but he whom God raised again, son of corruption. That’s taught in the Old Testament. So the gospel we preach must, and I believe should, include the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Now sometime when I’m talking to a lost man, I’ll ask him, I’ll see.

Isn’t it true you’ve heard all you like that Jesus Christ died on the cross and paid for all the sins of the world? Emotion will say yes. So they’ve heard about Christ and what He did and then I go into it, the gospel explain it. But I believe it’s something you need to keep in mind. But don’t jump down somebody’s throat if they don’t mention the resurrection every time and so forth. Just know that it is a powerful, motivating, forcing, understanding all that Christ has done for us.

And we will stop right there. I want to show you one little illustration that I learned. I learned this from the Hank Lindstrom. No, I didn’t. We learned it from the same guy though, Dr. A. Ray Stanford. And I haven’t found a better way to do it yet. If I ever find a better way to present the gospel, then I’ll use it. But so far, this is number one on my list. So if you have never trusted Christ as your Savior, you’re not sure.

You don’t really understand it. Then listen, this hand represents you and me, the wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. Now God says that He loves us. He hates what we do wrong, but He loves us. And He says, to pay for sin is eternal separation from God in a place called hell. But God doesn’t want us to go to hell. You see, God wants us to go to heaven and heaven, He’s perfect. And heaven is perfect.

And we have to be perfect to go there. So by just reasoning alone, you could realize, I ain’t going and you ain’t either. Aren’t going. You didn’t know I knew English. Did you know I’m an English major? I’m not. I just wondered if you would believe that. But God says that He loves us and wants us to have eternal life and go to heaven whenever we die. But God says you can’t earn your way to heaven. See there’s nothing that you and I can do to remove this in debt.

So going to church doesn’t take away the bad and giving money doesn’t take away the bad. It doesn’t pay for anything. So God says you cannot save yourself by your good deed. So go in the church, I’m glad you did. Give him money, well, I’m glad you did, but it won’t get you to heaven. When we pass the hat, you can even take some out as for the heathen anyway. No, we don’t even do that. We don’t even pass the hat because we wouldn’t get the hat back.

We don’t, we’re not encouraging that, remember that. But God wants to know, he loves you, he loves you. So he did something to show you how much he loves you. So this 100% Jesus Christ, he’s the Lord God in the flesh. came into the world because he loves us, hates our sin. Because our sins separate us from Him. So Jesus Christ who had no sin didn’t have to die. So He took our sins, paid for them on the cross.

And He says that if we would believe that He did that for us, He would give to us His righteousness. So you see, if He gave you His righteousness, that would make you and I as righteous as God. We go to heaven on His righteousness, not mine. When God sees me, He don’t see my name. sins because Christ paid for those. He sees the righteousness of his son. I go to heaven. That’s why the Bible says, for he God had made him Jesus Christ who knew no sin to be sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God.

She’d go to heaven, you’ve got to be as righteous as God by your good works. You can’t. That’s why God says it is the gift of God. It’s not of works, Last, any man should both. I can’t say I’m going to heaven because I’m so good. Because it’s not true. I’m going to heaven because he is so good that he loved me. I’m a sinner. I’m a sinner. I do not deserve to go to heaven. I do deserve to go to hell.

But God loved me. And he showed his love for me and sinned his son so that if I would believe that he did it for me, he would give me eternal life as a free gift. That was the best news I ever heard in my whole life. And I guess I just want to keep telling that for the rest of my life. Let’s pray, shall we? Every head bowed and every eye closed. No one looking around.

But if you’re here this morning and you’ve never trusted the Lord, would you just talk to the Lord and say something simple like this? Lord, I’m a sinner. I know I don’t deserve to go to heaven. But I believe when Christ died, He died for me, and I’m going to trust Him right now as my Savior. And friend, God said, if you would trust Him right now, He would save you right now and give you eternal life right now.

The moment, the very moment you believe it, you have everlasting life. And God said He had never cast you out and never lose you. And when you get up to leave, you can say, I know I’m going to heaven, because today I trusted Christ as my Savior. And friend, if you’re making that decision, I’d like to have prayer for you. I’m not going to have you forward, not on the inverse. But I’d just like to know with an uplifted hand, she said, yes, that made sense to me.

And I will trust Christ right now as my Savior and pray to our life for you to pray for me. Would you slip you in a very quick limb to the right back down? Does anyone at all? Anyone at all? That’s very quickly slipping up and better right back down. Our Father, we thank you so much for this opportunity to come, proclaim your word, pray to Lord that those that are listening by way of internet that many would trust you as Savior.
