Look at the next statement. Therefore, if thou in enemy hunger, feed him. If he thirst, give him drink. for in so doing thou shall he calls the fire in his head be not in his an important verse be not overcome of evil underlying the last part of this. But overcome evil with what with good everywhere Jesus went Jesus went about doing good whatever it is it ought to be good. Try to do good by everything and everybody you possibly can try to do the right thing.

And that’s in Romans chapter 12 and there’s 21. Number two there, if we desire to live, we must die. But we’re talking about living a certain way for a certain individual. And I want you to take your Bible, look in the book of Romans in chapter 8. The book of Romans in chapter 8. And Romans in chapter 8 is an interesting little statement here. In view of what we’ve already covered about the lost man and the Christian that’s carnal-minded, here in the book of Romans in chapter 8, look in verse 5, for they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit, for to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

So a Christian, see, can be spiritually minded because he got the new birth. He can also be carnally minded or fleshly minded because he has an old nature. But he says that the carnal mind, the fleshly mind cannot please God. Now look what he says there in verse 7, because the carnal mind is enmity against God. God doesn’t want us to remain babes in the Lord, so he wants us to study his work so that we can grow and mature learn how to discern and try to make the wise decisions that we should.

But if you don’t you’ll be fleshly minded. And so to be spiritually minded means you mind the Spirit. To be fleshly minded means you mind the flesh. And you have these two dynamic powerful drives inside of you. So he says in verse 8, so then they that in the flesh can not please God. So we often say that when you trust Christ to save you, you are in the Spirit. That’s your position. If you’re lost, then you can end the flesh.

That’s how you were. But when you’re a Christian and you’re walking after the flesh, then you’re living like a lost man. And the man in the flesh cannot please God. But you need to know understand it because this is a battle, you don’t fight it one day of your life. This is a battle that will face you every day of your life. If you lived to be as old as me, you’re still going to have that battle that you’ve got to face.

You’ve got to fight it. And so he says here in verse 9, but ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit. If so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the spirit of Christ, He’s not of His. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is life because of righteousness. Now you have a choice. You’re living in a body and God wants to borrow the body temporarily, you know, for the rest of your life.

Time in, full of moment. He wants to use your body and you’re living inside of it. And you can use it to bring forth the flesh, desires, or the spiritual desires. One is life and one is death. One draws you closer to the Lord and the other one separates you, death separation and divides you and it causes you to waste or lose your life. So he says down here in verse 13, for if ye live after the flesh, You shall die.

But if ye through the spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, you shall live. So the key to living is dying to the flesh. And that’s a difficult thing to do. That’s so easy to preach. I just crucify the flesh. All the flesh being crucified. That’s all so easy to say. Now live for the Lord. Now that’s a little bit more difficult. But once you learn what God means, it becomes easy. like you get in a habit of doing what’s right.

But you never want to lose that sensitivity that you have between you and the Lord, where your your conscience is that I want to please the Lord. And this is why you’ll find out there’s things that will prick your mind. It means that if your heart can dim you, you do something, your heart condemns you, that’s because it made you feel guilty, because what you did wrong. So you want to correct that. So everybody has a conscience. And I got a sermon I’m going to be bringing on that tip, but that’s down the road, and I think it’ll be good for you.

But now, this verse is so important because you’re talking about you can live or you can die. It means that your life is a fleshly life, or you have a spiritual godly life, but it’s a decision that you can make. And it’s a battle that you have to watch all the time because some people just want to walk out the line and see how close they can get to the age without going over. Well, it may not be the best decision.

There is a good verse. But look at this old statement I wrote here, live each day as though you have already lost everything of any value in this world. And you put all of your value, your treasures is on the other side. So if whatever I have in this world, if I lose it all, the greatest thing I’ve ever had is the Lord and I can’t lose Him. I can lose everything else in the world. I can’t lose my wife and I can lose my kids and I can lose my job.

I can lose my health. I can lose everything but you don’t want to lose that walk that you have with the Lord because nobody can take that from you. You’re the one that’s in charge of that. So keep that in mind. The next statement, sacrifice everything every day. Just get this day belongs to the Lord. Go whatever I have, it’s all yours. You can do whatever you want. You can give me, you can take. Blessed be the name of the Lord.

But look at this statement. This is what Paul says in Galatians chapter 2 and verse 20. I am crucified with Christ. It means I died. Nevertheless I live. Yet not I, but Christ live within me and the life which I now live in the flesh means living in the body. Not talking about living in sinful lust and so forth. Living in this body. I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me. You think that’s important?

Who loved me, it’ll be one of the strongest motivations of your life. Because if you love the Lord, that is the key for overcoming the love of the whole world and anything else. But if you lose your first love, you lose that love for the Lord, you have nothing to restrain you because you’re willing to do whatever it takes because of love. In the book of Revelation in chapter 3, to the church at Ephesus, he says, you’re doing a wonderful job, but I I have somewhat against you.

Thou has left thy first love.” In other words, you don’t love me like you used to. You think God wants us to love him? That’s what he talks about over and over and over again in his word. Now look at number three, if we desire to save our life, we must lose our life. He that findeth his life shall lose it. And he that loses his life, get these words, for my sake shall find it. There is no other way to save your life.

We sacrifice our rights to live our life in order to live his life. If you wanna live the Christian life, you have to give up living your life. You’re accepting his life for yours. That’s a pretty good trade. Don’t we think it’s a pretty good deal whenever we say Christ took all of my sins and paid for them and gave me eternal life? What a trade. Look what he got, look what I got. Well, when it comes to the Christian life, God says, look, I want you to give up your life and let me live my life through you so that you belong to the Lord.

And God will bless you for doing so. But look in 2 Corinthians in chapter five, 2 Corinthians in chapter five. 2 Corinthians chapter five and verse 14, I believe is a tremendous motivating verse because to the greatest motivations that we have in life is love and fear, love and fear. But love is powerful. Because if you love the Lord with all your heart, why do you think that the commandments is about loving the Lord with all your heart and loving one another?

Because of what it can do for you. All the law is fulfilled in what? One word. What is that one word? That word is love. And you have to love the Lord enough that you’ll do whatever God wants you to do. Now notice what he says here in verse 14. For the love of Christ constraineth us because we thus judge that if one, died for all, then all were dead. And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth means from not one, live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them and rose again.”

That’s what God wants us to do. Now I could go all the way down to verse 3, but I want you to look at another verse with me. Look in the book of John, chapter 14, the Gospel of John, chapter 14. The gospel of Now these verses are not written down in your notes, but if you want to write them down, that would be a good thing to do. But look what he says here in verse 21, he that hath my commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me.

And he that loveth me shall be loved to my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him. In other words, I believe that like a special love for them. for those who love the Lord. He loves everybody. But there’s some manifest that love. And he said, I will manifest myself to you. In other words, I will reveal, teach you and draw you closer than the person who doesn’t love me. There’s God so loved the world. But not everybody loves him.

But he said, if you’ll love me, he says him, him, honor, and if you love me, he says this This is what I want you to do. But if you don’t love the Lord, it’s just like, having a kid, but if the kids don’t love you anymore, it’s hard for them to obey you. But if they love you, then it’s a piece of cake. Love can make it easy. Love makes it wonderful. But if that’s not, then they become very, very bayous.

So I think this verse is a very good verse to keep it in mind. That’s why I love that verse. Look over it in verse 31. This is the verse that I fell in love with a long time ago. Oh, I’d say about 1963, somewhere into there. But that the world may know that I love the Father. And as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. I do what I do because I want the world. No, I love the Lord.

Do you love the Lord? Do you love Him? And if you love the Lord, that means you’ll never do anything wrong. No, it doesn’t mean that. It means you have a heart set like a flint. I want to please the Lord. And then you have a conscience that will work because God says, If you don’t walk according to the way you should, even that shall be revealed under you, Philippians in chapter three. Very good verse. Turn to page now.

Number four, if we desire to get, we must give. Be not deceived, God is not mocked for whatsoever, man so if that shall he also reap. Sewing is before reaping. Now a lot of people, they grow up and everything’s given to them. A lot of times the kids don’t have to work for anything. He’s just given to them. So they grow up with a mindset that government owes me a living. Society owes me a living. There’s people want to get into our country because you owe me.

They might be migrants. They want to come in. You owe me. I want this benefit and all these entitlements going. What have you paid it? No. That’s not what it’s for. But anyway, so it is before reaping. The liberal soul shall be made fat. That scares you. Don’t that verse just scare you to death? It means a person who is very generous shall be fed because he was gonna receive back. Doesn’t mean, it’s not talking about gaining weight now.

Don’t you understand that? Shall be watered also himself. But you see, you have to water first, and then you reap the benefits. You sow first and get the benefits. Be found faithful to the Lord, and then you’ll get some benefits. But if you don’t stay faithful and serve the Lord, You’re gonna miss on a lot of benefits, things you could have had, but you gotta stay faithful to the Lord. Look at the next statement. This is found in the book of the Pleasie Essties in chapter 11 in verse one.

Cast your bread upon the waters, and after many, many days it will come back. Sagi, no. You’ll get back, but you’ve gotta be willing to sow. So the right things. Live the right way, make good decisions, and then down the road you’ll reap the results, the benefits of all those good decisions. If you don’t and you saw the wrong thing, you’re gonna reap the wrong things down the road. Now get this, but this I say he would sow it sparingly, shall reap sparingly, and he would sow it boundively, shall reap also boundively.

In other words, according to how you sow, if you want to reap love, so love you want to reap joy, so joy you want to reap cotton, so cotton. If you want to sow peace, it’s so that whatever you want sow, if you sow meanness you’re going to reap meanness, you sow anger, you’re going to reap anger. banker. You sow jealousy, you reap jealousy, whatever you sow. But people can’t sometimes figure it out until it’s too late. Learn to put your confidence in trust in the Lord.

Look at number five. If we wish to rule with Christ later, we must serve with Christ now. So my time is not to be wasted. If I serve the Lord now, I know we’re all being the kingdom. We’re going to rule and reign with Christ. But your position in the kingdom as far as authority could be determined by your obedience to the Lord today. So your future is being determined by your obedience to the Lord now because it’s going to affect eternity and you have to see that.

You have to understand that as we have here. Blessed is that servant whom is Lord when he comes, shall find so doing. And he says, I’ll make truth. I said to you that he shall make him a ruler over all that he had. He that loveth his life shall lose it. And he that hated his life in this world shall keep it forever. In other words, what you do for the Lord in this life, you’re going to keep forever because God’s going to reward you for what you did.

But if you don’t serve the Lord and you waste your life, you have wasted your life forever. You lost it. But if you’ll serve the Lord, God will bless your life for all eternity. That’s why it’s so important to keep these things straight. Look at number six, if we waste to become wise, we must become fools in the eyes of the world. We’re not a fool in God’s eyes, but we can be a fool for Christ as far as the world is concerned.

And I would rather be a fool for Christ than not serve God and really be a fool. Even a fool has said in his heart there is no God. And of course there’s a lot of fools that will not serve God. But if I’m going to be a fool, I want to be a fool who made up his mind. I’m going to serve the Lord. And if it costs me, let it cost, but dedicate yourself to the Lord, pay the price whatever it may be.

A carnal Christian cannot discern a spiritual man. And that’s why I have in part of this verse here, let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seem if to be wise in this world, reveal your wisdom by the decisions you make. You say, well, yum, pick on pretty smart. Then why are you wasting your life? Why would you throw away was your life. If you’re so smart and if so wise, why wouldn’t you serve God with all your heart?

If you’re so wise, why not lay up treasures in heaven unless you’re a fool? But that’s what a lot of people are. And they don’t know it. They don’t see it. Look at the next statement down here. If we wish to be exalted, we must be humble. There’s three different verses and I want to read all three verses because they say exactly the same thing. For whose whoever exalted himself shall be a base and he that humbled himself shall be exalted.

If you want God to lift you up all you got to do is humble yourself. So the way up is down. You yield to the Lord, you bend your knee to God and you surrender and don’t fight God and don’t resist God’s will and God says if you’ll humble yourself he will lift you up and you trust him to do whatever he says do. I I don’t care if I ever become a big shot. I’m not interested in being a movie star.

I’m not interested in being the richest man in the world. I don’t have a goal I get at all. I just know that I’m looking forward to the day. I’m gonna be with the Lord. I’m gonna be there. And I’m gonna see these people that I have reached for the Lord. One of the things that blessed my little peeping heart this week. And Bollinger that was here sent out a newsletter and it was on Facebook, I guess it was, but it had the pictures.

And so I looked on there and there was Jim and Anne and they were with the Brookses. And they had a picture of them with them. You know, I had a part in their lives years ago. And it’s such a blessing to see them serving God, loving the Lord and Anne being able to come and be a blessing to us here. When those kids of theirs got married, I remember those kids and I influenced some of the parents that had those kids that they married.

And it’s incredible. It really is. And then they had a picture on there of Michelle Newhart and Nakeith. Well, she came out of our work out there, too. She was one of those little teenagers that came into our church and trusted the Lord. They had another picture of Brenda Wigren on there and Brenda Wigren. She’s one that came and trusted the Christ of Savior. Don’t you think those things are rewarding? Now, what if I had never been a soul-winner?

I’m not interested. It’s too hard. I don’t have the ability You should have seen me then. Not now. I’ve done done it for 55 lapt years. You should have seen what God had to work with to get started. I was, and you won’t believe this. I used to be shy. Timed? It’s hard for people to say, no, no, not you. Yes, me. Scared to death to get up in front of anybody. Shake like crazy. I could go look this hand with a person you and me.

But I had to correct a few problems. I’ll get my mind straight. What’s the most important thing? There was nobody saying, you ought to go to Bible college. They said one guy, and he was in a rescue mission in three Puerto-weezes of the anon, and after I mutilated the messes that night, he says, you need to go to Bible college. I thought I had done a pretty good job. Well, he was a graduate of Tennessee Temple, and he told me after, he says, you need to go to Bible college.

I said, why? He says, you need it. I didn’t know there were Bible colleges, but I had that hunger inside. I wanted something. I wanted to do something. And this is like a paradox. How can God take somebody that’s in his own mind, his own eyes, he is totally worthless. He’s never accomplished anything. Doesn’t have a good background. If you only knew my whole story of my whole life, you wouldn’t think he would ever be worth a quarter. And I had people say, he ain’t worth a hill of beans.

I don’t know how much a hill of beans would work, but at least I want to be worth that much. But I’ve seen God work in my life. But I had to give him a chance. God can change your life. He can give you the strength and the grace, the power that you need if you’ll let him. I believe one of the great things that hurts me more than you is seeing that there’s so much that God has for some people and they will not yield themselves to the Lord.

And I think over the years, even all those that I went to Bible college with, I mean going back 50 something years ago. And I’ve seen that they’ve done very little for the Lord, and they just get out into the world. And some of them make good money, got businesses, things like that, but they’ve lost their love for the Lord. Anyway, the next verse here in Luke 18 to 14 said, I tell you this man went down to his house justified rather than the other, for everyone, everyone, everyone that exalts himself, who’s the man who exalts himself, I’ll do what I want.

It’s my life. My will against God’s will. That’s P-R-I-D-E. Pride. Every child of God should live for the Lord and submit himself to the will of God and humble himself to what God wants him to do with his life, or his field with pride. And there is no other word for it. Pride. And God says, this is one of the things that I hate is for His children to be filled with pride. The last verse here, humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.

Lord, I’m gonna humble myself today, lift me up tomorrow, okay? I’m gonna dedicate my life to the Lord, run to the mailbox if the check came in. No, in due time. He knows when you’re ready. And I don’t believe that God is going to light you as a candle and it hides you under a bushel. But God says, He’ll want to put you up on a hill so that you can have light and people can see the light. God’s not interested in hiding His children.

And sometimes He may put us in the darkest of places so that the darker gets the right of the light should shine. And the last thing I thought in there was the way up is down. The way up is down. You ought to talk to the Lord all the time. Pray to the Lord. Ask God the leading guide you. Now whatever it is God wants you to do. Wherever he wants you to go, whatever he wants you to be.

It ought to be that Lord, I want your will to be done in my life. Whatever you say to somebody, shouldn’t it be that Lord I want to say the things that you want me to say. I want to do the things you want me to do. I want to go where you want me to go. And all those things always pray all the time and submit yourself to the Lord. And if you’ll do that in time, you’d be surprised what God can do in your life and how He can lift you up.

Trust Him. Trust Him. He will not fail you. This hand represents you and me. The wall of representing sin we all have sin on us. God loves us. But He hates our sin. Now He loves us. Hays what we do wrong. And everybody is a sinner. And so therefore because the wages of sin is death, we’re all condemned. We’re all to be separated for all eternity from God. But God loves us and wants us to go to heaven. And to go to heaven, we have to be perfect as righteous as God and nobody’s perfect.

We’re all sinners, but God loves sinners. I qualify. Do you qualify? This man represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. He came into the world because He loves us. Now He hates our sin because our sin separates us from Him. So what Jesus Christ did for one person, He did for everybody. And I said this the other day, from the first man to the last man. And all the sins in between when Christ died one time, He paid for all the sin of all people.

All of the world has ever been payments been made. The only thing we have to do anybody who so ever believe us, he’ll put this payment to your account. And it’s good enough for everybody in the whole world, who so ever would believe he did it for them, he would give you as a free gift everlasting life. And you go to heaven on what Christ did for you, best news in all the world. Let’s pray, shall we? If you’re here tonight or watching by internet, would you right now the best in our, would you trust Christ as your Savior?

To reject Jesus Christ is a form of pride. To think that you might be good enough to get to heaven, trusting in your works, or you’re so good you don’t need a Savior. The Bible says we’re all condemned. You need a Savior and there’s only one that’s Jesus Christ. And He died on that cross for you. All God wants you to do is believe that He did that for you. He paid for your sins. He came back from the dead and said, If you believe that he did it for you, he will put that payment he made to your account.

You’ll go to heaven on what Christ did for you. You don’t earn it. You don’t work for it. You don’t deserve it. It is the gift of God. And he said he had never cast you out and never lose you. So right where you are, whether on the internet or the said the internet auditorium, if you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, would you trust Him right now? And if you will, I’d like to know and I’d like to ask you to let me know by lifting your hand, let me know.

I like to pray for you. Is there anyone that I’ll say, yes, preach to that, it made sense to me and I will trust Christ as my Savior. Would you slip you in it very quickly and put a right back down? Yeah, what at all? If you’ve already trusted Christ as your Savior, are you willing to surrender your will to God’s will? To be whatever God wants you to be. Your Heavenly Father loves you. He wants the best for you.

Always believe that. Our Father, we thank again for your blessings. Thank you Lord for each person here and those that are watching by internet. We want your will to be done. We thank you so much for your word that you’ve given us and help us to lean on you, to trust you. And Father, when we’ve given it all we have, when it seemed like there’s nothing else we can do, And we’re totally in despair. Help us follow not to forget the most important thing we could have ever done.
