One day when all of this life is over with, the new sinful nature is gone, and we’re all in heaven. heaven. Look what we got as an advantage just because we trusted Christ to say, but why am I in heaven? I’m in heaven. I got a brand new body. I got a brand new mansion on Hallelujah, Vamu. And I can squish gold dust between Matos. And I can eat from the tree of life and everything is wonderful. Now what did I do to deserve all of that?

Not by the grace of God. Because His victory was put to my count. And this has nothing to do with what I did for him. I get all of that for free. And that’s why I said, if God has freely given to us all things, who’s gonna condemn you? If God says, I’m for you, Jesus Christ says, well, I’m for you, and the Holy Spirit says, well, I’m for you, does it matter what man may say if God is for me?

Now, it’s easy preaching and hard to put sometimes into life some of the things because some things look at in life and they’re not very good. It seems like they’re very bad. And sometimes I expect this and reality came in here and I got all of this despair because I didn’t get what I wanted. I didn’t get to do what I wanted. I can go where I wanted. I’m not what I have. I don’t have what all that I want.

And so when we build that in, but if your will is whatever he says, whatever he wants, whatever he wants to do with me, then and say, I don’t have that problem. I don’t have to worry about pride. I don’t have to worry about God humbling me. All I gotta do is am I pleasing God. Doesn’t matter what I want to be or to do, it’s whatever he wants. So then if God says, I need this, thank you Lord.

And God said, I’m gonna hold this back from you. Thank you Lord. And so you begin to think that if God loves me so much and is freely giving me all things, what am I worried about that my heavenly Father I can’t do something about. I just trust and accept whatever he has. And some of these things that I would say, though that’s bad, that’s bad, that’s bad. God may say, you need a little of this and you need a little of that.

Yes Lord. But when you begin to defy God and go against God, you’re always, and I am too. We fight against our wills. My will and his will are not always the same. If my will and desire is not the same as his, What should I do? Submit to His will. Because if you don’t, sin hardens the heart. Now, look at this next verse. It’s an awesome verse. He says in verse 30, but of Him arguing Christ Jesus. And verse 31, that according as it is written, He that glory have led Him glory in the Lord.

And that’s why that’s important. Now, turn to chapter three, 1 Corinthians in chapter three. Look what he says here in verse 20, verse 20, 1 Corinthians chapter three. And again, the Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise that they are vain. And the verse right before I say he’s talking about taking the wise in their own craftiness. In other words, you’d be surprised how many people are trying to outsmart God, as though they can do and then win, when it’s against the will of God.

So he says here in verse 20, the Lord knoweth the thought of the wise. Now look what he says in verse 21. Therefore let no man glory in men. Now here’s these two words. All things are yours. In other words, I don’t have to get lifted up with pride. Let’s say for example, God gave to Dr. Paulson a particular gift. And He gave to Len another one. And He gave to him over here another one. And everybody got different gifts.

And I got mine and, man, I got short changed. I mean, I can’t do what He does. And I can’t do what He does. I mean, I messed up. What he says, all things are yours. In other words, His gift is for me. And His gift is for me. And my gift is for you. And my gift is for you. You see, all of us can be given different gifts, but the reason He gave us different gifts is because different people are gonna minister to us in a different way.

What do you wanna do? You wanna hog them all? You wanna be greedy? And then you don’t use and appreciate what God has for you and what God’s done for you. We all have a station in life. We’ve got different places that we live and minister and all. But if everybody’s gift and everybody in the church, and he says, serve one another. What, according to you, so his gift was for me. My gift is for you. I’ve been told I have a gift of teaching and preaching.

Well, who’s it for? It’s for you. And you may have a different gift, and so you become a blessing to somebody else. But all of our gifts are for everybody. It’s just God using different people to administer it. Does that make any sense? I hope it does. That’s why he says it up here in verse 21, therefore let no men glory in men for all things are yours. In other words, when you read chapter three and it talks about, you know, I am a Paul, I am a Paulus, I am a Cephas.

In other words, they begin to pick and choose as though one is more important than the other. Every person in our ministry is important. Every person is important. Should the eye say to the nose, I don’t need you. Should the nose say to the head, I don’t need you. Okay, well, where would you put it? Aren’t you glad that the eye didn’t develop in the seat of your pants? Every time you sit on you, go blind. What would you say to your big toe?

I don’t need that big old toe. You know, it really helps you to balance yourself. Well, I got a knee, I don’t need that knee. I’m not usually gonna hurt someone. A python or something was eating up somebody. Oh my, he’s up to my thigh or him up to my knee. And I don’t remember what happened to the guy. I guess he got, I guess he got ate up. But now look what he says here. In verse 22, whether Paul or Apollos or Sivas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come, all are yours.

all of your benefit. They’re all for your benefit. I just do words in everybody that help you to understand that verse just a little bit better. But the things that are gonna happen, I would rather my wife not have to go through surgery. That’s according to my will. But God didn’t ask me. And she, as far as her health goes, man, she would watch everything she ate and did. I mean, she did everything as she knows to do that was right.

And something went wrong. Now God didn’t know that, so he was shocked when he found out. Now God knows. And it’s amazing how there’s things in your life, in my life, we don’t have to plan it. It’s just that we decided we’re committing ourselves to the Lord for him to use us any way he wants. Without us being crybabies, without whining about it. watch God work in our life to humble us, to realize, do I really love the Lord like I say I do?

The only way you can be tested is will you be found faithful to what God wants you to do regardless of what happens. Has nothing to do with you like it or don’t like it. It’s an attitude you have with me. My God loves me and I can accept whatever happens in my life. I just pray that God gives me the strength and the grace to accept it cheerfully as unto the Lord and believe in that whatever the outcome is in His hands.

Now when you develop that kind of an attitude you can accept a lot of things a lot more readily than you can if everything goes wrong. Nothing’s ever right in my life. That’s attitude. That’s a perspective on how you see things. Now look at the next verse. In In verse two, when he says Or things present or things to come all or yours or for your benefit. I like that verse, but it’s a little verse hidden away. Maybe just read over it and don’t dig a little nugget out of there.

I look at every verse as though it’s a cave and I get my pick and shovel and I go digging in there. I want to try to find me a, you know, the mother load. A verse that really says a whole lot of good things for me. And so I love it that way. Look in your Bible to Philippians chapter 4. Philippians and chapter 4. Philippians 4 and look in verse 19. Look what he says, but my God shall supply all your need.

According to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus, in other words it’s kind of like God has all you’ll ever need. He’s got like a next-grow account, it is big enough to give to you everything you need for this life. So that’s why it says come boldly to the throne of grace and that you may find help in time of need. No, it’s always help in time of need. God doesn’t do everything for us. He didn’t dress you this morning.

But he probably supplied some clothes, you’ve got some. Thanks. Praise the Lord. And he didn’t set it to table and put food in your mouth. You can do some things on yourself. But there’s some things you can’t control. And that’s why between me and the Lord, we can control everything. I can do what I can do and then God does what He can do. And He doesn’t ever make a mistake and always learn to walk and lean upon the Lord.

But my God shall supply all your needs. Who is he talking to? Does everybody about everything? No. This is, I mean, is this verse good for everybody? I love you to claim this is my favorite verse in the Bible. And I know God’s going to supply all my need. Well, look down here in verse 10. But I rejoice in the Lord greatly that now at the last, your care of me have flourished again wherein you were also careful, but you lacked opportunity.

In other words, you didn’t have an opportunity to do some things and sometimes in your Christian life, you lacked the opportunity to do certain things. You can’t always do everything you want to do when you want to do it. He then says in verse 11, not that I speak in respect of one, but I have learned in whatsoever state I am There were to be content. Now, just keep going, doing what you can do, and be content with what you have, regardless of what other people are.

I’ll sometimes find out, you know, I’ve had people make a statement. I could build a great work if I had the workers Yankee has. If I only had his workers, well, what we could do? I’ll say, well, where do we get our workers? We build our workers. Not many of the guys that we have worked at, I mentioned it came from outside, came from, they raised up in this ministry. True? All right. So you got to build some workers.

And then like it makes a statement here, I have learned to be content. That means you can either live in one or two tents that, you know, the discontent or the content. But everybody lives in a tent. He says, I know how to be abased, I know how to do without. And I also know how to have an abundance. And I’ve had people say, you know, I got to do this and I got to do this because I got to keep up with the Joneses.

You hear that? That’s it? You got to keep up with the Joneses. Oh, they got this. Oh, I got to have that. Oh, they got that. Oh, I got to have that. Oh, that dress rule looks pretty. I got to go out and buy me one. Oh, those shoes. I got to have 10 pair of those. You got to keep up with the Joneses. I don’t try to keep up with the Joneses. I just try to catch them on their way back.

Because see you’re going like this and people that have it are going like this. And as we go through life this is pretty much the way we go. You can have it today and everything gone tomorrow but you should not change. Your attitude of trusting the Lord should be when I have it, use it wisely. So whatever we have you want to get it right, save it right, spend it right. But whatever you have you got to get it right.

And whatever you save, you got to save right. And what have you spent? You got to spend right. Why? Because it was a God in heaven that’s going to judge you on all three. So the things of the world are generally hard to get, hard to keep, in great sorrow when you lose it. But see, if you walk closer to the Lord, money doesn’t make you walk closer to the Lord. And without How money doesn’t make you walk closer to the Lord.

So with money, without money, great prosperity, none at all shouldn’t change your relationship that you have between you and the Lord. You understand what I’m saying right? That should not change. And that’s what keeps you on a steady kill. Little words where you’re balanced in your Christian life. So as he makes a statement here in looking verse 13, I can do, see that word there, all things through Christ which strengthens me. What things? Well, he just mentioned, I’ve learned how to do without.

I know how to be a bass, I know how to bound. Everywhere and all things, I am instructed how to be full and to be hungry, to bound, suffer need. I can do all things through Christ. In other words, I can keep doing what Christ wants me to do in spite of whatever happens. See, something that we said, well, I’d serve the Lord too, if He blessed me like He did you. Oh, really? Why don’t you go ahead and serve God with what you have, where you are?

And then see what God does. Did the apostles love the Lord? Yes, they love the Lord. They all died million years. They didn’t? Can you read something? Here’s the apostle Paul got in my brand new, you know, maserati. Like this one boy to dead. Can I go get my driver’s license?” And he said, sure, son, when you get your haircut, why do I have to get my haircut? So that’s my rule, you gotta get your haircut. He said, I don’t think that’s right.

He said, why? All the apostles and Jesus, they all had long hair. He said, yeah, they walked everywhere too, don’t you remember? So you can do whatever you want. But if somebody else sometimes always making the rules, this is why sometimes kids wanna get away from parents so they can make their own rules. Do you know I’ve watched adults do the same thing? The reason they don’t wanna hang around a church or study the Bible is because they wanna do their own thing.

They wanna make their own rules. They don’t want somebody telling them what they can cannot do. They want that freedom. Friend last, friend last. There they are. And so everybody who mounts anything finds out you’re under the authority of God. And God can open doors and God can close doors. And look what else he says. I want you to see this in verse 15. Now, ye Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me.

In other words, nobody was helping me financially. Concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. For evident the Sola Nica, ye sent once and again unto my necessities, they were meeting Paul’s need to preach the gospel to travel as a missionary. not because I desire a gift, but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. In other words, I want to win people of Christ that will abound to your account. It’ll be your fruit because you’re making it possible for me to do what I’m doing.

So when he finally gets over there to verse 19, but my God shall supply all your needs. He’s talking to the people that were given. He was talking to the people that were given. And if they weren’t given, it wasn’t talking about them. You see, it’s so easy to apply Scripture because we’d like to. And as though, okay God’s going to supply all my need. Not your wants, but your need. But are you doing what you’re supposed to be doing with what you already have?

And I think it’s a great thing to remember. Look in 2 Corinthians 9, 2 Corinthians 9. 2 Corinthians 9. I want you to see this because this is really very good. 2 Corinthians chapter 9 is trying to get a better perspective on life and the things that happens to us because everything that happens to us from our viewpoint is not always healthy, it’s not always the best. And there’s people who will actually do you wrong, but does God know that?

But can God use the wrong that people do to you to build you better in your life? I had a person tell me that they lost their son or their daughter. And they knew that I had lost my son. And there was nothing as I know of that I could do to have stopped. That guy from killing my son. I was in Georgia, he was in Colorado. And I could become very bitter and angry at God because my son was 28 years old and brutally murdered.

Now. When you say, well, how can that be good? Because I had to experience a great loss in my life. There’s a lot of people that were experiencing great losses and a lot of the families of people that I’ve had in our church, Christians, and even the college. But I had never experienced that. Since then, I have brought a lot of good comfort to a lot of people who have lost a close loved one and try to help them not to have this bitterness in their life.

because people can become bitter toward God because if God is powerful and God can do everything then God could have stopped that. Isn’t that the same attitude that Mary Martha had? Jesus if you had been here he would not be dead. If you’d have been here, who are they blaming? God? But did God bring more glory out of it? All he did was just raise the man from the dead. Now I haven’t been able to do that yet. neither have I been able to walk on water or supply thousand fish sandwiches for everybody.

Now Jesus can do all of those things but now here in 2nd Corinthians in chapter 9, we’re going to have very quickly in verse 6, he says, but this I say he which soeth sparingly shall reap also sparingly. Do you think God knows whether we sow sparingly or not? These are our choices. These are choices that we in me. Whether to sow, he says, be not deceived, God is not much whatsoever man. Soeth, that shall he also reap. There has to be somebody keeping track of what we’re doing in order to bless us accordingly.

But notice it. He says, and he went so bountifully, shall reap bountifully. Doesn’t mean you get all your reaping done here. In verse 7, every man according as he purposes in his heart. In other words, it could be unto you according to your faith in the book of Matthew and Mark and Luke, it talks about according to your faith, according to your faith, according to your faith. What do you believe? If you want certain things done, it could be according to your faith.

Though God does not answer all of our questions all the time, the way we want them to look what else he says. He says, God loves a cheerful giver and God in verse eight is able, get this, is able to make all grace abound toward you, that he always have and all sufficiency means you haven’t enough and all things may abound to every good word. In other words, whatever it is, is to help you to abound to every good word to what you do, not just what you have, but God giving you the strength and the grace that you need to remain strong, to flee temptation, to keep your mind straight, not to rebel against God.

Don’t be a rebellious individual. I know what else he says in verse nine, as it is written, he’d have dispersed abroad. He had given to the poor his righteousness remaineth forever. In other words, what you do for the Lord is a reward that God’s gonna give to you that’ll last forever. And so he says, now he that miners seed to the sword, both minister bread for your food, multiply your seed’s sown and increase the fruits in the underlying these two words.

Your righteousness. His righteousness in verse nine, your righteousness in verse 10. Because God is going to increase the fruit according to your righteousness. And as you go down through here, it’s wonderful. And that’s why it says in verse 15, thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift. God gives everybody gifts. But the gift he gives to Warren is to be a blessing to me. and whatever he gave to Jesse is to be a blessing to me. That’s why he says, all things are yours.

It’s just that it’s in different people. So my gift, I try to be a blessing, and yours is yours, you’re supposed to try to be a blessing, and sometimes it’s just a word of encouragement. Sometimes it’s by your presence alone. You ever go to the hospital and you don’t know what to say? Sometimes it’s better not to say anything.

Sometimes just you’re being there, and they know and they appreciate you coming. You didn’t have to say anything. Didn’t have to do anything, but you were there. And so that’s why you want to be used as an instrument where God can bless you. But he doesn’t always put you up on the hill. Sometimes God wants you to put you in the valley. Why? Because there’s people in the valley. The light shines brightest in the darkest places. And so sometimes that’s why God will let you be around some of the wrong kind of people because they need somebody just like you to help them.

You see, it’s easy to serve the Lord when you’re always around the righteous. You just kind of blend in. But when you have to work with people that use God’s name in vain and go places they shouldn’t go and all of a kind of and they’re wicked people, maybe they need somebody that’s strong. Be careful that they don’t get you. You might be there to get them and we’ll stop right there. Look up here. This hand represent you and me.

This wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. This is why Christ had to come because we have all sinned. And the wages of sin is eternal separation from God in a place called hell. But God loves us. He wants us to go to heaven. But we can’t go to heaven because we can’t, we got to get rid of the sin. But see, the sin’s on the inside of us. It’s our nature. So God says, it’s not a matter of you quitting your sins.

It’s God. It’s not a matter of you. getting rid of that old sinful nature some way and he says, I’m just going to let you die but here’s the key. You cannot earn eternal life. You can’t work your way to heaven. You’ll never be good enough. This end represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. He came into this world. He had no sin. So he took all of ours, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead and said if we would believe he did it for us, he would put this payment to our account, we go to heaven on what he did.

I didn’t earn it. I didn’t deserve it. It was a gift. He asked me if I would believe him. Okay, I believe it. He didn’t believe it on me half ever last tonight. If I believe it, he gives me ever the last in life. Well, if I believe it, I got ever last in life. After the service, ask me, preacher, do you have ever last in life? Yes, I do. When did you get it? 57 years ago when I trusted Christ as my Savior and I can’t lose it.

Why? because it was a gift. I didn’t earn it. My worst didn’t give it to me and my badwares can’t take it away. It was a gift. No strings attached. And that’s the only way you can know that you’re going to heaven because it’s free and that it lasts forever. Let’s pray, shall we? Every head bowed and every eye closed, no one looking around. If you’re here this morning and you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, you say, what you said made sense to me.

I want to trust Jesus Christ as my only hope of going to heaven because there is no other hope. Would you believe that right now God loves you? Sin his son, he died to pay for your sins. Came back from the dead to show that the payment was made and he is God and he’ll keep his word because he kept that promise. Would you accept him as your savior? If you trust him right now as your savior, he gives you right now as a free gift ever lasting life.

And you can know that you’re going to heaven when you die. And I’m not going to have you forward and I’m going to have you sign a card or do anything. But I’m going to ask you in just a moment what I said made sense. And if it makes sense, I’m going to ask you if you’ll just let me know by raised of hand and then put it right back down just as quickly. I don’t want to embarrass anybody.

But if what I said made sense, you say, preach to that made sense of me. And I will trust Christ right now as my Savior and I’d like for you to pray for me. Friend, would you just slip you in and very quickly put it right back down. Anyone at all? Yes, God bless you, man. God bless you, sir. God bless you in the back. Anyone else, just quickly just slip it up, put it right back down. It’s you believing that what he did, he did it for you.

He loves you so much. Anyone else before we close, he just made sense to me. And I want to trust Christ as my Savior. Anyone else? Our Father, we thank you so much for all that you’ve done for us. Thank you for the free gift of eternal life. And for these who indicate about an uplift at hand, that they would accept you as your Savior today, right now. By doing so they become your child. You’ll never cast them out and never lose them.

We ask all of your blesses now upon this time of our fellowship together as believers. Christ never played. Are you a new listener to Bibleline? Do you enjoy the teachings of Dr. Arnold?
