This year, one man, he was going to die and told his wife, his son, take all my cash, put it upstairs in the attic so that whenever I die, I die, I can pick it up on my way.” So she did. Put everything in the own, took out of the bank, put it up in the attic. When he died, she went up there and it was still there. She said, I know I should have put it in the basement.

When the joy of a healthy body is lost with the pain of terminal disease or just growing old. You remember, there’s a time when we were young, we could get out, we could run, go all day, all night long, and just, you know, we didn’t worry about the body Because we were healthy. And now, every day, it seems like, you got doctor’s appointments. You got prescriptions, you got to get filled. I never worried about Obamacare or Medicare. I never worried about anything like that.

And it wasn’t until I was 55. I even thought about, you know, if something happens to me, I wonder where Betty’s gonna live. Betty was gonna be thinking, where am I gonna live? He dies. She has an insurance policy on me. It’s up in January. Something happens to me between now and January. I’m just making you aware. I’ve got $100,000. But one of these days we’re all gonna die. Like two of the grandkids, they came up to Grandpa. Grandpa, would you make a sound like a frog?

Would you croak like a frog? No, I’m not gonna do that. Please, Grandpa, please, oh please. He says, why? He says, well, because mommy and daddy says, when you croak, we’re going to Disney World. By the way, that’s not in my notes. I don’t know where they come from. Look at the next one. When the joy of having a good Christian ministry, you know, people can be involved in the ministry and they’re serving God and great things are having.

And then because of sin, can destroy their life, destroy their testimony and the pain that comes because of disobedience. Joy can be turned into this pain. Remember at the top up there the text I have, be afflicted and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaven is what? Because of your rebellion to God. Because you will not obey the Lord. you will not serve the Lord, and there’s a price to pay. And then as we get a little bit older, we’re gonna find out we’re gonna lose a loved one.

And you can have so many years of happiness together and great joy, but there can be great pain when one of them passes away. Many of y’all in this room have already lost one of your loved ones, and you’ve lost children. I lost my son when he was 28 years old, a man killed him. But there was a great sorrow, but you can’t let it stop you because you still gotta live. somebody asked me, I said, how do you get over that?

I said, you don’t get over it. You get on with it. You’re still gonna live with it. It’s just that time does heal a lot and you don’t have as much pain. But the sorrow, you gotta remember, we can replace joy. Which sorrow, hell, you can replace sorrow with joy. I know I’ll see my son again. I know he’s in heaven with the Lord. So your loved one, that’s why you wanna reach him, you can. It’s so very important.

And look at the next statement. When the joy of the first glimpse of Christ is lost with the pain of shame. See in 1 John chapter 2 verse 20 it says about his brother. He says, and not to be ashamed before him at his coming. Because there’s so many of God’s children say, when the Lord comes, if He came today, you may have to go through the pain of shame. Not because I made this up, but that’s in 1 John chapter 2, verse 28, you can read it for yourself.

And think that whenever you stand at the jebman’s city of Christ and you realize the loss of what you could have had when you see what you could have done, don’t take sin in your life lightly. Look at it from God’s point of view. See everything from God’s eyes Because we’re so easy to deceive ourselves Look at the next little statement that we need to learn the result now this year in bold is a very important statement The results of fulfilling sinful desires do not bring lasting contentment or satisfaction it never does You cannot sin and win You can’t purposely sin against God and win.

Don’t you ever think for a moment if you’re married, some other woman will be better for you than the one you got. If you got one, you love the one you have. You made a promise. You made a vow. You love the woman you got and don’t think about the one you don’t have. You better listen to what I’m telling you, Or you’re gonna be doing that up there, that text we just read. And your joy is gonna be turning to heaven.

You won’t win. You will not be glad. You keep your words of that woman you got right now. And woman, you keep your vow. And you keep yourself faithful for the man you do have. Yeah, but yeah, I’m married to a bomb yet, but you chose him. And was he like that when you married him? No, he was a like that, then you did it. No, maybe not. Now, in Proverbs it says this, folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom.

When you’re doing wrong, when you’re mocking God and you’re playing with sin, folly is joy because there is pleasure in sin for a season. But that means you’re destitute of wisdom. It’s not because you’re so smart. It’s because you’re dumb and you’re playing the idiot role. And don’t think people ought to admire you because of how many women you can conquer, or how many men you’ve been with, that’s not a feathering your cap to be proud of. The gloed about sins should have been ashamed of rebellion to God.

You’re supposed to be, and I’m supposed to be, we’re supposed to be a testimony of whatever we want people to do. We’re supposed to be an example of the believer, inward, indeed, an attitude, in spirit, in truth. Look at the next statement. Now, this is found in the book of Deuteronomy, try to tell people all the time, you know, Jesus says, my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Doesn’t say that. Come into me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, I will give you rest.

But if you will not serve the Lord with joyfulness of heart, He says, I’ll put a yoke of iron upon your neck until it destroys you. Look at that verse. I quoted that verse because I’ve done learned it a long time ago. Because thou serviced not the Lord thy God with joyfulness and with gladness of heart for the abundance of all things. Then he says, I’m going to put a yoke of iron upon your neck until it destroys you.

And this is that text that we just read this morning. Your laughter will be turned to mourning and your joy to heaven is because you will not honor God and serve them the way you should. Look down at the next verse. Then the people rejoice for they were offered willingly because with perfect card they offered willow unto the Lord and David the King also rejoiced with great joy. With people are doing that which is right and serving God willingly and joyfully than God is going to reward them and it’s gonna be great joy.

Now I want you to see the next one there in Nehemiah 8 and then he said into them for this day is holy unto our Lord. Neither be ye sorry for the joy of of the Lord is Your strength. Get that verse. The joy of the Lord is Your strength. How many have you ever heard that little song? The joy of the Lord is My strength. The joy of the Lord is My strength. The joy of the Lord is My strength.

Oh, the joy of the Lord is My strength. He fills my He fills my mouth with laughter. He fills my mouth with laughter. Oh, the joy of the Lord is my strength. There’s strength because of the joy of the Lord. And if you don’t have joy, you don’t have strength. Joy is because you can trust God. You can cast your cares upon Him. . You don’t have to go through life, always down in the mouth and miserable and sad.

Everybody has troubles. And you’re supposed to try to help lift up other people’s countenance. Help them to walk as straight and narrow way, to do the things they’re supposed to do. Not to get to heaven because going to heaven is a free gift. You don’t have to do anything for that. But to enjoy the pleasures of life now, that’s all starts right up here. success and your defeat starts a lot of bearing the mind. And so that’s why your actions are a by-product of the way that you think.

So if you want to raise the level of your life, change the caliber of your thoughts. Think upon these things which are good and acceptable in righteous and virtuous and pure and holy and the God of peace shall be what with you. You see that peace of God and that joy and that What happens is the result of how you’re thinking. Some people don’t need the joy, need that habit, because they’re just enjoying their misery. You know a man that’s always got his food out of a trash can, doesn’t know the joy of sitting down at Longhorns and having a big old juicy steak.

And some of God’s children, they live in the trash can. That’s all they did. They live in the trash can, getting the scraps of the world instead of these juicy steaks that God can give to you. Serving the Lord with purity of heart, there isn’t anything better than having a good conscience and a peaceful mind and a good night’s sleep. Look at the next scripture. When David says in Psalms 51, he says, restore unto me the joy of vice-salivation because you know what he did?

This man who loved the Lord, this man who was after God’s own heart. The apple of his eye, this man David who was anointed king, he messed up, didn’t he? When the king was supposed to be with his men out there fighting the battles where it was David. Well, he was in the house looking over that banister and lo and behold, you ought to see what he saw. No, you shouldn’t sit either. And he saw a woman taking a bath and the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and he became too smart for his own good to pride of life.

I can take what I want. I’m the king. And it wasn’t long before a guy named Nathan came to see him who was a prophet and he says, hey look, did you know that there was this traveler? He came to this house. And he had a rich house and he had a lot of lands and he had cattle and he had sheep and he had some visitors come and he came to this man’s house and he took his only little lamb and he killed that lamb so he could satisfy those visitors that come to see him.

David said, a man that will do that, that man shall die. And Nathan looked at him and says, is thou art the man. You did that. You had anything you could have one, but you took that man’s only wife. You put him out there in the heat of the battle so he’d get killed. And because of the lust of the eyes and the lust of the flesh and the pride of life, you took something that didn’t belong to you.

And that child, because now she didn’t got prayed, that child’s going to die. You’re not going to die, but he suffered it four times in his family. Does the sin of the Father sometime affect all the way down? Yes it does. If mommy and daddy in here, if you don’t serve God, there’s a good possibility you may have trouble with the kid serving God. It’s the way it goes. But people can do whatever they want, but there’s a price to pay and that joy can be traded for pain.

Look at the next statement, joy for today. For today, these things have already written into you that my joy might remain in you and that your joy might be full. God wants us to have joy. And he wants our joy to be full. He says even in the book of 1 John in chapter 1, he says in verse 4, he says these things are written that your joy may be full, written to God’s children. So joy is something that is on the inside of you.

It has nothing to do with what happened on the outside. Sometimes we say, well I want to be happy. Well, happy becomes a result of happenings. If things happen good, then I’m happy. But if happened bad, then I’m not happy. But I’m learning how to have joy regardless of what’s going on. Oh, that’s different. So look at the next scripture here in Psalms 1, 26 verse 5 says, they that sow in tears shall reap in joy. Because see, right now, what you do the sowing and the the day shall we’re going to have a reaping.

And we’re going to be with the Lord for all eternity. And the people that we reach for the Lord is going to be our joy, but we don’t have to wait till we get there. Over the last 55 or 56 years, I have had tens of thousands of people that I’ve led to Christ. That’s not bragging on the sound, it’s just the fact, it’s the way it is. And I have seen a lot of these people that I’ve led to Christ go on and serve the Lord.

I’m not their real daddy. I’m just their spirits a little daddy, you know, kind of telling the Lord and they trust Christ as Savior. They belong to the Lord and God has ways of raising his kids. And he got people all over the world. He can bless that one and that one and that one. Chances are you are not led to the Lord by the person probably that’s here. You can trust the Lord someplace else, but you come here and you learn some more.

And you might have somebody you led to the Lord and they go someplace else and they grow there. But all of them are still God’s children, wherever they are. But wouldn’t it be a shame to get to heaven and find out you never let a soul to Christ? And God let you live for 10, 15, 20, 25, and you never let a soul to Christ. This is why I can’t answer. If you are not a soul winner, if you could get a soul winner like the preacher to sit down with you and give you personal tutoring one on one just about.

You probably wouldn’t take advantage of it. But I have a few that will set in my class. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. And take 45 classes, and I’ll set there the preacher. And I’ll give them my time. I give them one hour every morning on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to teach them how to be a soul winner. But some people can’t take advantage of that opportunity. And then I’ll teach some of those teenagers on Tuesdays and Thursdays on how to be good leaders, what the Bible says about leadership.

Because see, I’m looking for them to have some joy down the road because when they fulfill that God-given responsibility, what it does for them is awesome. Let me ask you a question. Do you like the way you have seen Jesse Martinez, mature since he’s been here? And he’s doing pretty good? On Wednesday night, we had Trent speak for us Wednesday night. If you weren’t here, you didn’t hear. But if you watched it on YouTube, you could have watched it.

but it did a great job and I’m proud of them. We had John John, who came in from Georgia, and I gave him tutoring, along with some mothers. But they’ll benefit from that and it’ll change their life. I also had Keaton, where’s Keaton? He’s in here somewhere. How can I miss you? You’re a broad as a barn. He taught Sunday school class last Sunday morning. And now he’s working with Awana. He’s only been saved about five or six years.

He trusts the Lord when He came and sit down here. But He worked and He got involved. And now He’s got a little daughter that runs around here. She owns the church. But you see, there’s certain joy. But there’s things that’s gonna happen in their lives, even in Jesse’s life. In mind, it’s gonna be times when it seems like all that joy is just traded for some pain. Pain because there’s people that will hurt us that we did not deserve it.

There’ll be things that will happen in life. We can’t control, but it’ll bring hurt. But you can’t serve the Lord with all that hurt. You see, you have to serve the Lord as though you’ve never been hurt. All that hurt turns to bitterness and then anger. And then you blame. Take all the hurt you’ve got, give that to the Lord. Go ahead and serve the Lord with joy, fullness of heart. And God will bless you for doing so. So in Psalms 30 and verse five, look at it very quickly.

For his anger in doeroth, but a moment in his favor is like weeping may endure for a night, but underlightness in that little note. Joy comes in the morning. You may have to endure a lot of things, but you always know in the back of your mind, joy comes in the morning. It’s a new day. Whatever pain I have today doesn’t have to stay. Joy comes in the morning. God is going to bless me. God’s going to walk me out of this dark moment in my life.

I don’t know when and I don’t know how. There’s some of you all in here that are suffering gone through cancer. And some women will lose all their hair. I was down at the radio station. They have four or five of them down there that doesn’t come up with cancer. I said, I know what it’s like. I said, I’ve got to be my church too. They’re hurting. And all kind of things that are happening. And you’ll hear about this one’s got surgery.

That one’s got surgery. That one’s got surgery. I always take you just going in and find that old sinful nature of mind and just cut it out of there. Wouldn’t that be neat? Hey, there’s a doctor. that’s what Jesus did. See Jesus, He knows what that old sin for nature is and He, one of these days, is going to be totally removed since it’s in my whole body and this whole body. And God saved me, gave me a new birth and I’m going to go to heaven to be with the Lord.

I can’t wait. Look down at the bottom, I want you to see this. Joy for eternity, because that’s where we’re headed. This little statement that I read to you earlier was, Joy is having a feeling of great pleasure and happiness. Don’t that be neat when it’s forever and never? And you don’t have any pain in life. You’re going to suffer none. You’re going to suffer down the road. We’re born in the trouble. We live in a sinful world. We have a sinful body.

There’s sinful people. people are going to wrong you. So he says here Psalm 1611, that will show me the path of life. That’s the path of God, my eternal life. In thy presence, God’s present, is fullness of joy at thy right hand. There are pleasures for how long? For evermore. And 1st Thessalonians 2 19 and 20 says, for what is our hope or joy or crown of rejoition are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming.

For ye are our glory and joy. When you get to heaven and you see the people that are in heaven because of your opportunity to live here on this earth. Did you know when you work hard and you give and you support missions? There’s people because of missionaries and you get credit for that. Paul says that there may be fruit that may abound to your account. In other words it’s fruit that abound. Not just one person gets account for that soul.

It’s everybody who had part in that soul, people that did pray and people that did give and people that did witness. You have a part in it. Maybe you drove a vehicle to bring kids to camp or to bring kids to church or to bring people to a wana or to ranch. Whatever you have done, whatever you do for the cause of Christ, God’s going to reward you when it’s all over with. And won’t it be great when we get to heaven and see all those faces.

Are you going to sing that song? song seeing the faces of those people that were reached because somebody cared. I think it’s going to be awesome. Look at the last verse here. Matthew 25, 23 says, his Lord said unto him, will done good and faithful servant thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee rule over many things. Now this little phrase, enter thou into the joy of the Lord. In other words, I’ve never been to heaven and I don’t know about this kingdom upon the earth.

But whatever it is, and whatever it is, enter thou into the joy of the Lord. Whatever it is, it’s going to be the joy of the Lord, and it’s going to last forever and ever and ever. So now you can enjoy a few little things, and there’ll be moments of joy. There’s a time to be born, then there’s a time to die. There’s a time to plant and a time to reap. There’s a time for all of these things.

And today may be a time of joy for you, but for some of you might be a time to weep because you’re going to have some sorrows. But those sorrows can be turned into joy. But if you’re disobedient, rebellious to the Lord, your joy can be turned into pain, And that didn’t have to happen. Look up here. This sin, let it represent you and me. And this wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. Now God says that He loves us.

Now He hates our sin because see, to pay for sin, we have to pay for it. And that payment is eternal separation from God and hell. Can you see the pain that will be the result of a decision? It doesn’t have to be this way because God did something about it. Because we couldn’t. God required perfection to go to heaven and none of us are perfect. And God says that we cannot earn eternal life. We cannot work our way to heaven by our good deeds.

All of our good deeds will never take away our sins. So we are in a heap of trouble. So the Lord did something for us. This hand represents Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. He came into this world because He loves us, hates our sin. because our sins separates us from the Lord. So what did Christ do? Well, because He loved all of us, He took all of our sins. And it’s because He loved all of us, He had to take all of our sins.

He couldn’t love some of us and not all of us because of the grace of God. He’s not a respecter of persons. So what He did for one, He had to do for everybody. So He took all the sin, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead. And God says that if you and I, if we would believe that He paid for our sins, then I have a payment for my sins. I am accepting what He did for me.

I’m not gonna try to earn my way to heaven by my good deeds. I’m gonna go to heaven because of His good deed. He died in my place. He paid for my sins. Now the reason I can’t go to hell, I don’t have any sins to pay for. The reason I can’t go to hell in the future is because I still don’t have any sins to pay for it. You see, He paid for all my sins before I was ever born.

Past President Fugei’s already paid him. And so I go to heaven on what Christ did for me. That’s the best news I ever heard in my life. And when I think about that, I get filled with joy. I have even been known to shed a tear of joy, because I’m so thankful, so glad I’m going to heaven when I die. Let’s pray, show it. With heads bowed and eyes closed and no one looking around. And if you’re watching by internet, understand God does love you.

And he did send his son to die and pay for your sins. And if you’ll trust Christ to save you right on the screen, he says, yes, I’ll trust the Lord. I pray that you would. If you’re in the auditorium this morning, do you know for certain that if you die today, you’re going to heaven? If you’re not sure, why not right now just beyond us and say, Lord, I don’t understand at all. I know I’m a sinner. And I believe that when Christ died, I believe He died for me.

So I’m going to trust Him as my Savior this morning. And friend God said, if you’ll trust Him, that He would give you as a free gift of everlasting life. And if it’s everlasting life, and it lasts forever. And all your sins are paid, they are, that you would go to heaven when you die. Do you want to go to heaven? We get trust Christ as Savior’s the only way. If you’re making that decision, I’d like to pray for you.

I’m not going to embarrass you. I’m not going to have you forward. But right where you’re sitting, just let me know by just slipping your hand out very quickly, put it right back down. I got to embarrass you. In one of the hall before we close. So yes, that made sense to me. And I want to trust Christ as my Savior and preach our life for you to pray for me. We just slip your hand out very quickly. January long.

If you’ve already trusted Christ to save your God’s child. But do you know anything about the joy of the Lord? Put him first and serve him, not because you have to, but a double-minded man is unstable in all of his ways. And there will be judgment upon him because he’ll make the wrong decisions in life and God will have to chase in him. I pray that you’ll honor the Lord and serve him with joyfulness of heart. Father, we thank you so much for all you’ve done for us for this time together.

Ask your blessings upon each one here. And while we pray for next, we want a good day. We want many people to come. We want many to trust your Savior. We want your blessings upon all the missionaries, their wives, their kids, and for all the needs to be met. We pray that our people continue to be generous as they have. And we pray for good meetings, good attendance, and Christ and good prayer. Amen. Are you a new listener to Bibleline?
