Look into book of Galatians in chapter 3, Galatians chapter 3, and look in verse 26. If you want to be a child of Abraham talking about a faith that really counts of the seed, he says they’re in verse 28. Excuse me, not verse 28, but what was that verse? 26, that’s what I said, yes. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. you put your faith in Christ. Now you just did exactly what Abraham did.

And if you do what Abraham did, then you’re going to be blessed like Abraham was blessed. You’ll receive the imputed righteousness to your account. So that’s in verse 26, the look in verse 29. And if you beat Christ, then are you Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise. God promised to save everyone by faith and faith alone, because He said, I’ve got just to find the heathen through faith. Well, Bland, if he’s going to do that, this is what he meant in chapter 3.

Look in chapter 3, chapter 3 and look in verse 9. So then they which be a faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Not those who keep the law, they didn’t have to keep the law. They did not have to be circumcised in order to be saved or to stay saved because we spoke before about what justification means. Now number 4 there, where we look at verse Abraham knew the gospel because he says that God preached before the gospel of the Abraham sin, that God would justify the heathen through faith.

So a man is saved and justified by faith alone. And so, letter A, Abraham understood and was expecting the resurrection in Hebrews chapter 11. So he knew about the seed. He knew about Jesus Christ. He was told this. And the word seed is singular and refers to Jesus Christ himself. Let her be. Scripture tells or foresees for knowledge that God would justify the heathen because that’s what God said and God knows the future and he knows what he’s going to do.

That’s what he’s going to do. And you see the part of this verse where we have clarity is explained a little bit more in the book of Genesis in chapter 22, where he says Abraham believed God. ovych”.[ Occupations about the seed and how many people. And so when this was mentioned to him, there was no Jewish nation, there was no nation yet. Everybody was a heathen, it means without God. And so God was gonna use Abraham and make some promises to him.

Look at the little word note. The word gospel was a contemporary term as Abraham would not have known the meaning of the word itself. It is not the word gospel that saved. It can be good news about him, anything, But the saved, it is the message of the gospel that saves. Paul is explaining that before the gospel, the current vernacular, they were similar with Abraham understood and believed the message of the gospel. Though he may not have understood what the word gospel was or the word good news like we have it today, but he understood the message.

And God gave him a message when he told him to count the stars and talk about how that this is gonna be The results of a seed you’re going to have, and you’re going to have a son named Isaac and down the road that’s going to be a Messiah. And so he knew and understood what this was talking about. So Paul had given these things and explained some of these things, and to let them know that the gospel message was given to them.

By Paul, not the Judaizers, they didn’t come here and win you to Christ. He said, I did. I’m the one that came here. I’m the one that brought the gospel message. And then they were coming in with the law. So are you saying that you never were saved? And now you’ve got to do something to be saved or stay saved? And that’s why he said, I marvel that you’re so soon removed from him that called you to the grace of Christ or the gospel, which is not the gospel.

into another message. He said, but there’s gonna be something that would trouble you, pervert the gospel of Christ. And he called it, only way you can change the gospel of grace is by adding works to it. And God says that is an accursed message. If it’s more than faith alone, then it cannot be faith alone. If you add anything to it, it can be faith alone. We’re saved by grace alone through faith alone. You don’t really believe that. You believe you gotta do this and this and stop this and this.

And so there is expectation. Now look at letter C. God tells us what he would do, predestination ahead of time, how God would going to save. And when he saves a person, he’s gonna save them forever. God has already predetermined for the foundations of the world that he would save a man by faith alone. Give him eternal life, they become God’s child. That’s how you become a child by faith in what Christ did. Nowhere does God say you had to keep the law or earn the right to be in, or to inherit eternal life.

Remember one of the things that the rich young ruler says, what must I do that I may inherit the kingdom of God? There’s nothing to do because it’s already been done. All you have to do is trust Christ the Savior. So do I have to go to church to go to heaven? No, I do not. Do I have to give money to go to heaven? No, y’all do, but I don’t. No, no, you do not. Do I have to change my life?

Not one bit. You mean you can still go to heaven and not have to change anything that you’re doing, that’s right. Now most preacher will not tell you that, but it’s the truth. If it’s the truth, then why not say that? Well, because you don’t want people to go out here and live bad, they’re already doing that. Don’t most people live however they want to live? But what if I was to trust Christ as my Savior and God give me eternal life and now I’m his child and I’m going to heaven my dad?

What if I decide I want to serve the Lord because I want to? Because I love him. Is there anything wrong with me doing that? No, I don’t have to though, but I know it pleases God that if I would love him, he says, if you let me keep my word abide in me, do a lot of things. So there’s a lot of things I’ll do for the Lord. And he was able to, that once saved always saves us a damnable heresy, and I’ve had people say that, but the only thing is, that’s a condemnation upon the very gospel itself.

Because once you’re saved, well, you mean God can save me, but He can’t keep me saved? You mean if I could be as bad as I can, but when I trust Christ to blame me, now I can’t be bad anymore. Now I gotta be a goody-goody, too, shoes, and I gotta do all these right. But what if I don’t? That means God really doesn’t love me. That He really does not gonna take me to. My sins are not really all forgiven.

No, He means what He says, or He doesn’t. If He gives me eternal life today, how long I have eternal life. I’m giving you as a gift and I’ll never take it away. He’s out never cast you out, never lose you all. I can how long have I got it? He can’t give me eternal life twice. So once I trust Christ as my Savior, He gives me eternal life and that’s how I can know I’m going to heaven whenever I die.

But if I add words to it, then you can’t know until you’ve lived your life to find out if you lived a good enough life. And God says, you’re not saved by your works. For by grace are you saved through faith, that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God not of works, lest any man should boast. See, I can’t stand the fear of saying, I’m going to heaven because I’m a good guy. You know, I’m an apratcher.

And no, God says it’s not of works. I’m saved by grace. So the worst man you’ve ever heard of, if he trusts Christ as Savior, God will save him, give me eternal life. You say, well, that’s not right. You mean, if he did it, it would be grace then. That would be grace. And that’s what it is. Now look down here at the next statement. Number five, Abraham was declared righteous through faith or the law. When God declared him righteous, was it because he kept the law?

Oh, because he believed what God said. He believed what God said. He was saved by faith. And the book of Romans in chapter four, what if Abraham found? He found that you can’t save yourself. So he trusted Christ the Savior and God put his righteousness to his account. I so here you are and you’re a bad dude. You’ve done everything in the book. And you know you do not deserve to go to heaven, you deserve to go to hell.

So how’d you go and get to heaven? You got to stop being bad, start being good? No, just like you are. If you believe that when Christ died, He died for you, that He loved you. And if you accept Him as your Savior, all sins are paid. Why? Because He paid for all my sins. So the reason I can’t go to hell today, well, I don’t have any sins to pay for it. Well, I don’t sound right. And the reason I don’t have to go to hell tomorrow or the next day or rest of my life, I don’t have any sins to pay for it.

When Christ died for me, how many of my sins did He pay for? all of my sins. Now down here at the bottom people have a lot of times questions about you know how can a man be just with God? Job had asked that question. How can a man be just with God? Well God answers that question and it’s only because of what Christ did and gives us the free gift of eternal life. So if I died and then God was considered the law has done job and it killed me.

But it does it before I really did die. And so Christ’s death was in my place. So he died for me. So that means I don’t have to die and I don’t have to go to hell. So he paid for my sins. I have received the free gift of everlasting life. Now look at letter C. Letter C. Paul shows the reason for Israel’s failure. They did not submit themselves to God’s righteousness in Romans in chapter 10 and verse 3.

Where Paul had made this statement he says, I have a heart’s desire to see Israel that they’re saved. He says, for I bear them records that they have a zeal of God but not according to knowledge. For they’ve been ignorant of God’s righteousness have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of Christ. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believe it. So Christ is the end of the law. So So once you trust Christ as your Savior and you died, the law can never condemn a dead man.

That’s why I can’t be condemned today to go to hell. And I can’t be condemned in the future. There is now no condemnation to those that are in Christ. It doesn’t sound fair, I know. It doesn’t make any sense why I’m going to go to heaven. And here’s another person over here, and they may be lived better than me. And they’ll go to hell. And the reason, because they didn’t trust Christ, and I did. That’s the only difference of why I’m going to heaven and somebody else will not go to, I trust the Lord, they will not trust the Lord.

But that’s why God says, preach the gospel to every person so they can know and put their faith in Christ. Now, don’t let her see, you’ve even heard people make the statement. Well, nobody’s perfect. You ever anybody say that? Well, nobody’s perfect. Well, how do you know that people have a conscience? conscience and what is that age of accountability? So look there in your Bible at the book of Romans in chapter 2. The book of Romans in chapter 2.

You’ll notice that Adam and Eve when they sinned against God, what’s the first thing they did? They went and hid, they invaded him from fig leaves. They hid. Why? Their conscience bothered them. Why? Because they knew they had done something wrong. They knew they’d done something wrong. When never children get a little bit older, do they learn the difference of right and wrong? They know that I did something wrong. I’ll never forget the story of Dr. Curtis Hudson when he had his boy.

His name is Tony. He was just a little kid and they had gone someplace, they came back and he was sitting on the counter and he had a jar open and it had jockled in it. that they’d put on a cable. It was in a jar. And so when they came in there, it was all over the place, chocolate all over. He had it all over his face and all over his clothes and he walked in and he saw his son, Tony, have you been in that chocolate?

No sir. The evidence was it was all over the place. The kids lying through his teeth. If you could see them with the chocolate. Now Tony today is about this big and he’s like this. He’s a huge guy, powerful preacher. But Dr. Curtis Hudson loved telling stories about his son though. He was a weight lifter in Tennessee and I think held a record in Tennessee. But he was a big, strong individual. But I don’t thought that he would have killed him by then but he let him live.

But you have a conscience. Now notice here in Romans in chapter 2, looking verse 1, therefore thou art inexcusable Oh man, whosoever thou art that judgeeth, for wherein thou judgeeth another, thou condemnest thyself, for thou that judgeeth doeth the same things.” And then God says, you have a conscience. And your conscience works because you judge between right and wrong. You’re able to judge when somebody does you wrong. That’s not right. That’s not fair. Where’d that judgment come from? Animals don’t do that.

The people do that. Because, see, we have a mind, as a version of the Bible says, to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, to him it is sin. When a child learns to him that knoweth to do good and doeth it not, somewhere along the line they’re learning, I did wrong. Have you ever spanked a child? Did you ever get spanked? Was it for being good or bad? I got spanked for being good because I was just a good kid.

I really was. I mean, I wouldn’t lie to you for anything in the world. Raise my right hand. But anyway, page two, real quick. At the top of the page of prayer, could the ability to recognize right from wrong be at the age of accountability? Anyway, there’s a couple of the verses there that I just mentioned to you. Now, number six there is verse nine, who are the true children of Abraham? children of the promise who are blessed with faithful Abraham.

Well, we just read you most of these verses. All families of the earth be blessed to be blessed. And you ought to unline this statement in your notes here. To be blessed is to be justified, meaning to be declared righteous. So I want to be blessed by God. He says, and all the families of the earth, you can be blessed because Jesus Christ, who came from the seat of Abraham, made a payment for the sins of the whole world.

And anybody in the world can be declared just as if you had never sinned, just as if you have always been righteous. That’s grace. And nobody deserves it. Everybody deserves to go to hell. But because of mercy, he’d let the judgment fall upon his son so that he wouldn’t have to take judgment upon us. And the Bible says God would give us as a free gift, eternal life. Now look at letter B. Galatians chapter 3, 10 through 12. Verse 10, the law is a curse.

If you keep them, I’ll bless you. If you don’t, I’ll curse you. That’s in Deuteronomy, but it’s about physical life. It’s about to the nation of Israel. Do this and thou shalt live. And if you don’t, God promise that I’ll chase in you and take you out of the land. I’ll bring in a nation from afar and they will chastise you. And God said, I’ll take and use them as a rod and spanked my own children. And he also makes a statement that, if thou serve us not the Lord thy God with joyfulness of heart, I will put a yoke of iron upon your neck until it destroys you.

Well, that’s what he said. But you see, that’s under the law. We are not under the law. That was for physical life, and you could have rain, and you could have fruit, and everything could multiply, and God bless you as a family man, and give you a lot of kids. and those, all these earthly blessings. But we’re talking about here are spiritual blessings that by me trusting Christ as my Savior, He didn’t promise you’re gonna give me a million dollars.

He didn’t promise that everything I have is gonna be great and I’m gonna have a lot of money and all in and enough. Our obedience brings spiritual blessings because we’re gonna be rewarded when we get to heaven. It’s not an earthly situation that I’m gonna get to enjoy. It’s gonna be a heavenly situation, But when Christ comes back and powering great glory to the earth, oh yeah, we’re gonna have a lot of wonderful things. But God promised the kingdom to Israel, but He promised us heavenly to you and I, the church age.

But anyway, that’s another message. What I wanted to bring to your attention here before we close out here, because He says in verse 11, no man is justified by the law on the side of God. That means that no man with his own righteousness could be cleared as never having sinned at all. So regardless of how righteous it made me try to live, from here on out, can God say you have deserved the right, it’s just like you have never done anything wrong and you’re like, does your child being good, wipe away all the things that did bad?

No, you can tell them three things to do. I hate doing three things in a row because I can’t remember three things in a row. You can tell me one thing in a row and I might get it done. You had two to that and now you’re complicating my life. Three, I’d record three card if you enroll, but anyway, when it comes to a man been declared righteous, does that mean he’s never done anything wrong? Well, in God’s eyes, because our sins were laid upon Christ, that’s how God sees it, as though I paid for my sins.

I did wrong, I paid for them. But now notice what we have here in letter A, let’s pretend that works play a part in justifying a man for salvation. If a man had to be justified, declared right is good enough to go to heaven by his works, then he would be justified by his works. And the Bible says that Lot was a just man in the book of 2 Peter. And then notice, number one there. How was Lot justified?

How was He justified? What number one, he was attracted to worldly things, sat in the garden of Sodom, in the gate of Sodom, a place of importance because of his relationship to Abram who rescued the city from war. He got honors and he was like a mayor of the city. And so he made some bad decisions. He was not a man that was very wise. He was not a good father. He was a drunkard. He didn’t live righteously even though he knew what was right.

He didn’t teach his family about the Lord. Genesis 1832 compared to Abraham in chapter 1819. God says, I know that Abraham will guide his children correctly and Abraham did, but not lot. His says number five. So if Abraham were justified by his works, how was Lot justified? So Lot was justified, but Lot didn’t do anything good, so he should be unjustified. Abraham was justified, not by his work, but by faith and the Lord. And Lot was justified exactly the same way, even though he lived wickedly.

And the Bible says, he vexed his righteous soul from day in to day with their unlawful deeds. But yet Abraham justified by faith. Okay, well, how was, how was Lot justified by faith? Same way. One lived a righteous life and one lived a sinful life, but both justified before God the same way. Well which one did God love more? Oh God loves them. And the payment made by Christ was for the sins of every person. So anybody can go to heaven.

Look down at number 12 here. The law is not a faith because the law means do. Grace means done. It means Christ did what had to be done so I could go to heaven. There’s nothing for me to do. If it was justification by the law, then I’ve got to do this all the time without fail because there’s no more sacrifices for sin. There’s no temple. There’s no animal sacrifice that I can make. I’m not an Israelite born under the law.

I don’t have to do anything. Okay, if I sin in Christ isn’t sufficient, then how do I deal with my sins in the future? Well, I do something wrong. I’m so glad that when Christ died, He’s already paid for all of my sins, past, present, future. It’s all paid. So God offers me as a free gift eternal life. the last line. Faith means done. Live eternally. Law is you have to do and perform. And if you don’t do all the things commanded by the law, you’re under a curse.

You have to die. The law was never given to save a person. You’ll hear some people say, you’ve got to keep the law. He’s going to go to heaven. I say, well, wait, this is the law. Well, that’s not a lie. That’s not a steal. That’s not commit adultery, I’ll shut not and that’s about you as far as I can go. And I says you mean they shall not play marbles. He said what? Well the Bible says marble not.

So and I used to always play marbles and now I got to stop playing marbles and I did like that. Oh well it’s been a long day and a long day. Look up here. This hand represents you and me. The wallet represents sin and everybody as a wallet, so everybody all have sin. Have you ever noticed how big the ladies wallets are? Now there’s a message there somewhere, but I’m not going there. I told someone one time I said, well what can I use for sin?

My purse is too big. I says anything in it can be used to sin. One of these days I think, we’re just for the fun, we’ll have to take a ladies purse and just dump it all up here and just to see what in the world is in these things. They got suitcases, remember it’s suitcase. And even I feel so sorry for the little girl. You know, even Amara, she’ll run right here and she’s got this suitcase on her arms.

She’s already started carrying that suitcase. They started her my earlier. This is you and me. This is sin. We all have sin on us. Some maybe have more sin than others. I got one. Now, that probably should stack an old muck. But God says if he loves me, he hates my sin, but he loves me. God loves you. And he don’t like what you do wrong, but he loves you. It’s just like your kids. You know, you love your kids, but you don’t like what they do wrong.

Until I find out I’ve never heard my mother say I love you. Oh well. Maybe some people just see me and the sins as one. You know, I did this and this is me. So I hate sin and I have to hate you too. I don’t know. But God says he loves us. He loves me, loves you. But the payment for sin is eternal separation from God in hell. God doesn’t want us to go to hell. That’s why he sent his son to time to pay for our sin.

Because he’d go to heaven, you have to be perfect. It’s righteous as God. And nobody’s perfect. So that’s why you and I can’t earn our way to heaven because you’ll never be good enough. You’ll never live a good enough life to go to heaven. So God says, forget it, Charlie. He says, by your works, no man can be justified. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. He came into the world because he loves us, hates our sin because our sin separates us from him.

So Jesus tries who had no sin, but he didn’t have to die. But because he loved us, and our sin separated us from Him. He took the sin and He paid for it on the cross. All of our sin of the whole world came back from the dead and God says anybody in the world who so ever would believe that He did it for you then He would put this payment to your account. I understood this when I was 18 years old, 58 years ago so I trusted Christ as my Savior.

God put that payment to my account and if you believe it, then he puts that payment to your account. And so God says, the payment was made and it’s sufficient for everybody in the world. Regardless of how many sins, regardless of how bad they are, his grace is sufficient. His grace is sufficient. And that’s why I don’t need anything else. That’s the only payment that God will accept for my sins is that payment he made. So there’s no payment for you and how to make.

I hope that everybody understands that. Let’s pray, shall we? With headbound knives closed. If you’re here tonight, or if you’re watching by internet, why not right now, except Jesus Christ as your Savior? The only thing you have to do to go to heaven is believe that what Christ did, He did it for you. You can do that. Because it’s not asking you to do anything. You don’t have to stop anything, join anything. God wants you to know how much He loves you.

Sorry you put no strings attached. If you misuse it, that’s up to you. I just decided after I trusted Christ as my savior, I wanted to do what I do, serve the Lord, but I didn’t have to. So you’re saved by grace. So right on the screen, it says, yes, I will trust Christ as my savior. So if you’re watching tonight, and you never trust the Lord, would you do it right now? And just let us know by just clicking it on.

But if you’re here in the auditorium, and if you’ve never trusted Christ as savior, I’m not gonna have you forward, not gonna embarrass you. But right where you’re sitting, I’m gonna do this and I’m gonna do it very quickly. All I want you to do is just to let me know by slipping your head very quickly, put it right back down. It just lets me know that what I’ve said you understood in your trust crisis, your savior. Is there anyone at all?

Just slip your hand out very quickly, put it right back down. I will trust Christ as my savior tonight. No tricks to it, no gimmicks to it. Then what is all? If you have not trusted Christ’s Savior, I urge you to do so. Father, we are thankful for your blessings. Thank for all you do for us. And thank for the opportunity given us, not only to know you, but also to serve you, not because we have to, but because we want to.
