Over the years, Arnold has delighted listeners with his delightful storytelling skills.  Now he has compiled a collection of his best anecdotes from childhood into a book for families to enjoy together.  Each story follows the topic hinted at in the title, using entertainment to illustrate the point Arnold wants to convey to his readers.

“While eating at Cracker Barrel, my granddaughter Abby asked me to tell her some stories about when I was a little boy. After about four or five interesting little story she looked at me and said, Papa you need to write a book. I said if I ever do, I’ll dedicated it to you. The time has come and here are my stories. Although all the stories are true you may not find them totally appropriate for your small son or daughter to hear, so please fill free to pick and choose the ones you believe will be a joy for them to hear.”

Telling stories to children and adults has been not only a joy of mine, but also a great part of my ministry over the last sixty-plus years. Although all the stories were harmless for children, I would often watch the adults cringe in disbelief when they realized where the story was going. Of course, the children would sit there in total awe as I spun the story and watched as their eyes bugged out and their mouths flung open,” said Arnold.

This collection of stories charts the author’s path through childhood, recalling moments that grew him in ways he never thought possible and made him appreciate more his large family, understanding of the Lord, and thankfulness for who he is now. Readers will find these true-life stories of “Yankee Boy” as reminiscent of times they may have had as children themselves.
