I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of Isaiah, the book of Isaiah chapter 1. As you know in the last couple of weeks, we’ve just kind of mentioned a few things about, you know, how we believe that the Bible is inspired of God, that God gave it. And we don’t teach that there’s mistakes and contradictions that we have to get in here and we ourselves, we got to correct it all. I believe we come out better when we take God’s Word as what it says, it’s the Word of God and to believe it.

And to see just not only what Christ said about His Word, also we’ve studied about what the apostles said about the word. But in the Old Testament, there’s some of God’s saints, and this is what some of them said about the word. So here in the book of Isaiah, in Isaiah chapter 1, look there in verse 10. Now he’s already told the children of Israel here that they got a problem, serious problems. So in talking mainly to, you know, Judah and Benjamin, was going to happen to them.

He says, because you are such a sinful nation, see they’re in verse 4, you’re such a sinful nation. Then down in verse 5, he says, every time I try to discipline you, you just get worse and worse and worse. He says, why should you be stricken anymore? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick, the whole heart is faint, from the soul of the foot even unto the head. There’s no soundness in it. He’s He’s talking to the nation of Israel as though they were a person.

And Israel at one time, yes, that was Jacob. But his name was changed to Israel. And the whole nation, God deals with them like they are a person, one person. And so they’ve been a bad boy. And so he’s been chasing them, knocked them upside the head, whooped them pretty bad, and they still don’t get it. And so he’s going to have to deal with them some more. So look at what he says here in verse nine, first of all.

Where he said, except.,” the Lord of hosts,” had left unto us a very small remnant. We should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.” And look in verse 10, here the word of the Lord. See that phrase? The word of the Lord. Isaiah said, this is the word of the Lord. And he also says, in verse 10, your rulers have sought them, give ear unto the law of our God, the law of our God.

Now, you’ll find out there’s times when it talks about the law of God and the law of Moses. And there won’t be any difference between the two because the law of Moses was the law of God, that God gave to Moses. And they were told to write. give ear unto the law of our God. And then he tells him, he says, come and let us reason together, say, of the Lord. Now when God says, come and let us reason together, look there in verse 18.

He says, come now, let us reason together, say, of the Lord, though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow, though they be red like chryms, they shall be as wool. You ever heard that before? Well, it’s a verse actually in the Bible. But you’re understand that when God says come and let us reason together, it’s not like you are going to get God to change his mind on what’s right and wrong. You’re not going to get God to change his mind about, you know.

Come in. Unless you are reasoning with God is, you have to admit, I’m wrong. He’s right. That’s how you reason with God. You’re trying to talk God into God. You’re wrong on this. No, God isn’t wrong anything. And come into realization as sinful as He said you was. Now, come to grips with this. and understanding that he didn’t whoop you and whoop you and whoop you. Now he’s going to have to do it all over again and it’s going to be bad.

They’re going to lose their land. God promised that’s what was going to happen to them. And so that’s what will take place. Now look there in chapter 8 of the book of Isaiah. Chapter 8, I remember when Dr. Stanford had me memorize this verse 50 years ago. when he talks about, should not a people of the Lord seek unto God instead of seeking for people who mutter? He’s thinking, what? But you’ll notice it’s in verse 19, but I want you to look there in verse 18, Behold I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for science and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts which dwelt in Mount Zion.

And when they shall say unto you seek unto them that have familiar spirits and under wizards that peep and that mutter should not a people seek unto their God for the living to the dead. In other words, whyettlement God’s people seek God? Who is alive instead of somebody who’s dead? Your God’s children. So this is why you don’t get the newspapers every day and check yourNVIDIA scope to try to find out what you should do for the day. He says, if you have my word, believe my word.

You want to know the future, study the Word of God505. And so that’s why he says in verse 20, to the law, to the testimony. If they speak not according to this word, this word, it is because there’s no light in them. In other words, we are to compare everything that anybody else says and teaches according to the Word of God. Now that was their opinion back there 700 years before Christ ever came. So it tells you that they believe that the Word of God was the Word of God and that all things were to be judged by the Word of God.

So I believe that’s what God wants us to do. Now in the book of Isaiah, it’s mentioned 21 times in the New Testament. Isaiah is quoted 21 times in the New Testament. So they must have believed that the book of Isaiah was true. So the New Testament authenticates the book of Isaiah. And many of the Old Testament books, it doesn’t just stop with that book, but it goes to many of them. Now take your Bible and while we’re here in the Old Testament, look in the book Jeremiah.

Now the Bible tells us that Jeremiah, he says, I knew thee when thou was in the womb. I knew you. Did you know that God knew you before you knew you? God knew you before you knew you. While your bones were being fashioned in your mother’s womb, there’s a God who knew. Whether he’s going to be male or female, and God had a purpose in this person’s life. Now just like God had a purpose in his life before he was ever born, God had something that he wanted him to do.

But does that mean just because God has a purpose that everybody’s going to serve that purpose? No, because you can still rebel against God. God may want you and I to do a lot of things, but we may harden ourselves against them. Just like when he says in Ephesians 2, 8, 9, and 10. When he says, for by grace are you saved through faith, that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast.

For we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. God has ordained that all of his children walk in good works. Does that mean everyone of God’s children walk in good works? No. But is it the will of God? Yes. So can you defy the will of God? Of course you can. Isn’t that the problem with Israel? They defied the will of God. And as a Christian, the reason God chastens you is because you defied the will of God.

Otherwise, why would God chasten you? Because you have a choice. He did not program you to perfectly obey all of his wishes and desires. It just doesn’t happen that way. So look down in verse 4. Here in Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 4, and you’ll notice then the word of the Lord came unto me, say enough. Jeremiah is saying that the word of the Lord came to me, and this is what the word of the Lord said. So he is saying that this is what God said.

Look in chapter 2, and look in verse 1. chapter 2 verse 1 says, more over the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, so this is mentioned over and over again. Also you look there in chapter 2 and verse 2 where he makes the statement again, go and cry in the ears of Jerusalem saying, thus saith the Lord, thus saith the Lord. And then down verse 4 says, Hear ye the word of the Lord. And the word, I believe it means every word that he gave, but hear ye the word of the Lord.

And verse 5 also says, Thus saith the Lord. What iniquity have your fathers found in me, that they have gone far from me, and have walked after vanity and and are become vain. When you read this and you listen to what it says, you’ll notice it seemed like God wants to be loved so bad. Now think about that statement. God wants to be loved so bad. Why did God love us? He loved us because he wants us to love him.

We love him because he first loved us. See, God is loved, but you gotta have somebody to love. And then the object is that you want to love something, but you want it to love you back. You know one of the worst feelings that we can have is the feeling of rejection. Do you realize how much it must have hurt the Lord for those he did the most for to reject him? How that must feel. If you ever had kids, isn’t there time that seemed like sometime maybe they don’t show you how much they love you back?

And sometimes the kids probably think, My parents will love me. And yet we just don’t know how to show love sometimes. So this is what I believe is so very important. So I want you to look there in verse six. And I want to cover this very quickly down to verse 13. But now as we read this, think of how the Lord pours out his heart. He says neither say they, where’s the Lord that brought us up out of the land of Egypt that led us through the wilderness, through a land of deserts and of pits, through a land of drought and of the shadow of death, to a land that no man passed through, and where no man dwelt.

And I brought you into a plentiful country to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof, but when you entered ye defiled my land and made my heritage and abomination. Look what I did for you. Look what I brought you from. Look what I brought you through. Look what I brought you into. Look what I gave to you. And then for Israel to turn against God. Then he says here in verse 8, the priest say they, where is the Lord?

In other words they don’t want to know where God is. The people don’t care where God is because they didn’t let God. They don’t care about God anymore. Now when you read stuff like this, it ought to break your heart to think, God loved me so much, look what He’s done for me. Why would I want to hurt Him? Why would I want God like God getting on His hands and knees pleading with me to love Him? you would think people would want to love him.

Should he have to beg us to love him back? Well that’s pretty much what he’s doing. Look at what he says here. He says here in verse 8, the priest said not, where’s the Lord? And they that handled the law knew me not. Those that handled the law. Those that were supposed to teach the people and they wouldn’t do it. He says, the pastors also transgressed against me. The prophets prophesied by Baal and walked after things that do not profit.

Now you’ll see this word mentioned several times in here about to no profit. In other words, it doesn’t get you anything. Walking away from God, you will not profit. You will not gain. You don’t win.” So he says in verse 9, “‘Wherefore I will yet plead with you,’ says the Lord. And with your children’s children, will I plead? God’s pleading with it for us to do right.” Why? Because God wants to bless people. God is a good God, and we sometimes do that which bring his chasening hand upon us instead of getting his blessings.

But what else he said? Verse 10, for Passover the Isles of Chittim and see and sin on the Kedar and consider diligently and see if there be such a thing. hath a nation changed their gods, which are yet no gods, but my people have changed their glory, for that which death not profit. Be astonished, O ye heavens at this, be horribly afraid, be ye very desolate, sayeth the Lord, for my people have committed two evils. They have forsaken me, the fountain of living water.

and then they hued them out cisterns, broken cisterns, they can hold no water. In other word, God says, I had fresh living water for you and you left me as a broken cistern that can hold no water. In other words, when you leave the Lord and you stray away from the Lord, your life doesn’t get filled. You don’t get full of the peace and the love and the joy and the happiness that you want. It leaves you empty because the world cannot satisfy.

God’s children will never be satisfied. And that’s why these scriptures are so important. Take your Bible and turn to the book of Deuteronomy. Oh, they’re in the Old Testament, Deuteronomy. Let’s see, Deuteronomy chapter four. Deuteronomy chapter four. And I want you to look at a couple of verses here, but because when I start reading it, I just can’t stop, I go further. So we’ll just go to the verse 10. But I want you to see what he’s saying here.

And see the importance that Moses put upon the word that God gave to him. So in verse one, he says, “‘Now therefore, he’ll harken O Israel, “‘unto the statutes and unto the judgments “‘which I teach you. “‘For to do them that ye may live and go in “‘and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers give it to you. Now I know whenever you study some of these things you don’t see where it’s talking about and I will give you the free gift of eternal life.

They’re under the law. What he’s talking about is that you may live physically, that you may be prosperous, that you’ll be in the land, that you’ll be protected and you’ll have God’s blessing so that you can have so much in this life and enjoy the life if you do what I tell you to do. Now that did not eliminate what the elders and so forth and the scribes and the Levites were to teach the law to the people because they had to teach the meaning of these things and so it was more than just what they did.

But the promises of keeping the commandments was not eternal life and get to go to heaven. It was the physical blessings upon a national Israel. Now he makes a statement here in verse to. You shall not add unto the Word which I command you. Neither shall you diminish ought from it. You don’t add to it. You don’t take one word from it. You don’t add? Not one word. You don’t take one word from it. What I wrote, I wrote, but I wrote what God told me to write.

And He says, “…the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.” eyes have seen what the Lord did because of Bell pure. For all the men that follow Bell pure, the Lord thy God have destroyed them from among you. You saw that with your own eyes. Verse 4, But ye that did cleave unto the Lord your God, or alive every one of you this day. Because you see, God had made promises. Some of you are going to die and they die.

He says, He said, you’re going to live in their life. And he’s reminding them God kept his word. And he has met their needs and pulled them out of the furnace of fire and brought them into the land. They ain’t got to the land yet when he’s writing this, but these are lessons that were taught at Mount Sinai. Look what he says in verse five, “‘Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments. “‘Even as the Lord my God commanded me that you should do so in the land, whether you go to possession, so that when you get in the land, you’re supposed to keep these feasts.

You’re supposed to do this. And if you’ll do it, you’ll be blessed. Verse it, keep there for and do them. For this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations which shall hear all these statutes and say, surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people. God intended for Israel to be a light to the Gentile nations upon the face of the earth. Israel has not been that light that they should have been in all these years.

Now one day they are going to do it, but it’s going to be in the Kingdom because Israel has been so rebellious and God had to chase them over and over and over again. Just think from the time that they were taken by the Assyrians, the 10 tribes made it to Israel, their capital in Samaria. They were taken into captivity. And then years later, then here comes Nebuchadnezzar from Babylon, and he takes the southern two tribes made of a Judah.

Capital in Jerusalem and took them into captivity. And all those years, Israel has never had a king. Israel hasn’t had a king since then. So when Christ was here, He was the king, but they didn’t accept him as king. Two thousand years since then, they still do not have a king. During the tribulation period, they still don’t have a king. Not until Jesus Christ comes back again. Then there’s the king of Israel. But all those years, twenty-four hundred years Israel has been without a king.

It didn’t have to be like that. It’s because of rebellion. God is going to keep his word and he’s going to turn things around you watching same. Now look down here in verse 7, for what nation is there so great who hath God so nigh unto them as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for. In other words, do you realize Israel the advantage that you have? No nation has a a God like you got, talking about himself.

Look what I did for you. Look how close I am to you. And then they turn against him for some other unknown God. So he says they’re in verse eight. And what nation is there so great that has statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law which I set before you this day. Do you know what made America so great? It’s because our founding fathers took these principles from this book and established our country, our government. And when the people around the world heard about the freedom and the liberty that we have, everybody envied America.

There was a time when people envied America. America was great because we honored God. Now, we are a melting pot for all religions, and it doesn’t matter what you believe. Do anything you want, live any way you want, and America has turned its back upon God after all the goodness that God has done for us. It’s enough to break your heart. Look what he says in verse 9. Only take heed to thyself and keep thy soul diligently. Let’s now forget the things which thine eyes have seen.

And lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life, but teach them to thy sons and thy sons sons. Especially the day that thou stoodest before the Lord, thy God in horrib, when the Lord said unto me, the Lord said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

This This is why we want freedom in America so that we can teach our children and grandchildren the truth, the Word of God. But see, they just about it got it to where you have to send your kids to the government schools and have humanist educators taste them in everything but the Bible. And then you have to be forced to pay them to do it. paying for our own destruction. Because you cannot preserve a nation if you cannot preserve the education of the children, and we gave our children to the government to raise.

I have some time people wonder, why are you getting so political? I can’t read the Bible while I get in political. It affects the way you live. It affects our government. It affects everything that we have, everything that we do. Well anyway, those are my humble opinions. Taking a Bible and looking at the book of Numbers, the book of Numbers, the book of Numbers in chapter 33, Numbers 33, Numbers 33 and looking in verse 1 and verse 2, verse 1 and 2.

It’s like Moses was told by God, you know, to keep a journal of all your journeys. You know, where are you going? It’s like some women like to keep a diary. I have never kept a dire in my life. But look at verse one, these are the journeys of the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt with their armies under the hand of Moses and Aaron. Look in verse two. And Moses wrote their goings out according to their journeys by the commandment of the Lord.

And these are their journeys according to their going out. So the Lord told them what to do and they were to do it. So he gave them an order, told them this is what I want you to do. And he wrote and later on what he wrote, God says the law of Moses, the law of God, it’s the same thing. And that they were to trust what the scripture says. Remember there’s a statement in the book of John where Jesus made the statement.

He believed in Moses, you say? Moses wrote about me. If you believed Moses, you would believe me. But they didn’t believe what Moses said. He says, you think you have eternal life, but you will not come into me that you may have eternal life. Eternal life was in him, and they were rejecting him. So this was the problem. Exodus, look in the book of Exodus in chapter 17. Exodus chapter 17, generally when I covered the book of Exodus in chapter 17, I’m always talking about Amalek, because Amalek was somebody they had to have a battle with.

And so this is where, you know, So Joshua and Aaron, they held up his arms and also Moses and Aaron and her, they got together and they held up his arms and Joseph was to do some of the fighting. But the battle went on and it raged for a while. But look down here in verse 14, verse 14, he makes his statement, and the Lord said unto Moses, write this for a memorial in a book and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua.

For I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. So he did what he was supposed to do and in years later we have Joshua reading these things from the book of Moses.
