I Need to inform you That should should And once we’re shined on love, Lord Jesus Christ comes back this week. I will not be here next Sunday. How many of y’all if the Lord came back this week are planning on going with him? Let me see your hand. All right. How many of you plan on sticking around? Okay. Look like everybody wants to go. That’s a good sign. That’s a good sign. The Lord says, you’re going to give a crown to those who love his appearing.
And I don’t care if it comes right today or tomorrow. I just want to keep serving until then. Until then. Once you take your Bible and turn to the book of Mark, chapter 12, the book of Mark, and chapter 12, I want to speak on Jesus Christ, the Lord of all. Or I guess you could call up the Lordship of Christ, but I want you to know He is Lord of all. And He has all power to do what needs to be done.
Mark 12, and look there in verse 28, verse 28, one of the scribes came and having heard them reasoning together and perceiving that He had answered them well. him which is the first commandment of all. Jesus answered him, the first of all the commandments is here O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. And thou shalt love the Lord by God with all by heart and with all by soul and with all by mind. And with all by strength, this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. If you and I had to keep the law to be saved, then we would have to fulfill these two commandments because the law is fulfilled in one word love. And if I didn’t love, I’d have to love the Lord with all my heart, my body, soul, and strength. And I’d have to love everybody else the same way. And the Lord says, if a man could keep the law, then barely righteousness should have been by the law.
Many people believe that this is really the crux of lordship salvation, making Jesus Christ the Lord, the master of their life. If he’s the master, then that makes me the servant. Do I have to serve the master in order to be saved. If you had to do these two commandments, this is the law. This is the fulfillment of the law. So a man can’t be saved by keeping the law. It means that no man loves God with all his hard mind, body, soul, and strength.
and no man loves his neighbor as himself. It would be great if we did. If we loved everybody the way we’re supposed to, what need any laws? That’s why he says where the spirit of the Lord is there is liberty, the freedom. We have to have laws to control those people that will not do these two things. This is where all of our problems come right here. Does a man have to make Christ the Lord and the Master of his life to be saved?
That’s the issue. I believe Jesus is the Lord. That’s who he is. But do I have to have him the Lord or the Master of my life in order to be saved? Do I have to serve and bow to the Master in order to earn my way to heaven by walking a straight and narrow way? Do I have to deserve the right to go to heaven? And the answer is no. So, man does not have to make Christ the Lord and the Master of his life.
He is the Lord. I don’t make him Lord. He is the Savior of the world. I don’t have to make him Savior of the world. It’s who he is. I may or may not recognize that. I may not understand that. But it doesn’t change the fact he is still the master. And should we obey the master? Yes, we should, but we don’t have it within us to do it. We may desire it. And you may wanna love the Lord with all your heart, but you can’t and you don’t.
And maybe you wanna let your neighbors yourself, but you don’t. No man can perfectly fulfill these two great commandments because this is what entails all the law. So when you read the 10 commandments in the book of Exodus, you’ll find the first four are generally to the Lord and the sixth to man. This is what he’s talking about. Take your Bible looking John chapter four, the gospel of John and chapter four. Now we’ll be looking at quite a few scriptures, so kind of, you know what, you’ve fingered it, boys, and a while like that.
So you can really flip through the scriptures. But John chapter four, And I want you to look there in verse 42. And verse 42, this is on page 11, 20, and an old scope, a reference Bible. And verse 42 says, and sent unto the woman, now we believe not because of thy saying, but we have heard him ourself. And we know that this is indeed the Christ, the savior of the world. Now, because it says, Savior of the world, does that mean that the whole world will save?
No. He is the Savior. He is the only Savior in the world, and He did die in order to save the world, but He gave us a choice. Now, I can allow Him to be my Savior, but it doesn’t change the fact that He still is the Savior. After I trust Christ as my Savior, It is the will of God that I serve the Lord. I don’t make him the master. I don’t make him the Lord. It’s who he is.
I can choose to serve him or not serve him, but it’s still the will of God. And he is still who he is, regardless of whether I recognize it or not. There are some people who teach it. You must make Christ the Lord and the master of your life in order to be saved. Some people will tell you that in order to get saved, you must accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. And you wanna know what do you mean by that?
And so you have to sometimes get people to define your terms. What do you mean by as my Lord and Savior? Do you mean that I must make him the Lord, the master of my life in order for him to save me? And if I don’t make him Lord, he will not save me. Now there’s people who teach this. They teach that. But I don’t believe it’s true. I don’t make him anything. I must recognize that I am a sinner and cannot save myself, but I do not.
And he does not require me to serve him in order to be saved. He will save me by faith and faith alone in Christ alone. And I kind of like that. Looking Romans 10. chapter 10 there’s a scripture there that’s kind of looks like it might be able to throw you just a little bit. Romans chapter 10 looked there in verse 9. Romans chapter 10 verse 9 and it makes this statement that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus shall believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead without shop he saved.
But with the heart man believed it under righteousness, but the mouth confession is made unto salvation. So I believe what Christ says and who he is, and I confess it with my mouth. Confessing it with my mouth will not save me or never save anybody. But I am to believe. In order to get God’s righteousness. And because I received his righteousness, I am saved in my mouth. I’m too confessive because faith coming by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
But I should believe that he is the Lord Jesus. Another way of wording that is he was Jesus is Lord. That’s who he is. I must recognize Jesus Christ is not just another man. It’s not just believing on anybody called Jesus. This is the Jesus. Jesus that is the Son of the living God. This is the Lord Jesus. See, He is deity. He is God. And I should believe this and understand this. I want you to take your Bible and look at the Philippians in chapter 2.
Philippians in chapter 2. But I want you to see this down here. Where talks about in verse 9 Wherefore God had highly exalted him given him a name which is above every name that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of things in heaven and things in earth and Things under the earth and that every tongue Should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father recognizing that Jesus Christ isn’t just anybody named Jesus.
Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the anointed one, the suffering one, the one that was going to pay for the sins of the world. Jesus Christ died, was highly exalted and given the name, and that everybody should recognize He is the Lord. Another way of saying He is is God, be is God. And if he is God, then he deserves to be worshiped as God. Jesus Christ deserves our recognition of who he is. Now, I want to show you that if he is who he claims to be, it should be demonstrated in scripture because you know in the book of Matthew chapter 28 says all power is given unto me.
Now before all power was given unto him after his resurrection and his name was highly exalted. All the miracles that he did, he said he did it by the power of the Holy Spirit, not because of his own power, though he had power. But he didn’t utilize that deity that he had and those attributes of God. But they were like set aside just for a while, he became a man. Now he was truly man and truly God. But the Bible says that Jesus did what he did by the power of the Holy Spirit.
A look there in John chapter 1 and verse 12. We know that he is the Lord in salvation because of Romans and chapters in that we just looked at. But in the book of John chapter 1, look there in verse 12, John chapter 1 and verse 12. And verse 12 says, but as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God. Who gave you the right to become a child of God? God Jesus Christ did.
As many who come to Him. To them gave He power to become the sons of God, to those that believe on His name. So he is the Lord of the He’s in charge of salvation. And so nobody can get saved unless they go through him. There is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby you can be saved. You cannot be saved, believe in the name of the game, or Peter a model, it will not work. There is no other name because there’s nobody else that can save you.
So he is the Lord. He’s in charge. He is God of salvation. Take your Bible and look there in the book of Matthew, chapter 12, the book of Matthew and chapter 12. You know, there was a problem here. He had done a lot of wonderful things, but he even cast out devils. Look here in verse 22. Verse 22, this is then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind dumb. He healed him in so much that the blind and the dumb both spake and saw.
And all the people were amazed and said, is not this the son of David? See, they didn’t see him any more than just somebody in the line. But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, this fellow does not cast out devils, but by the yells above the Prince of Devils. See, some people can see who he is, some people could not see who he was. Oh yeah, he was the son of God. He was the son of David, the Messiah, the promised one.
But not everybody believed. It didn’t change the fact of who he is, just because of other people’s unbelief. Like some people, they don’t believe there’s a God. Okay, does that do away with God? No, God’s still God. And he still does what he does. and our unbelief doesn’t change God. God is still God. And verse 25, and Jesus knew their thoughts and said unto them, every kingdom divided against itself has brought to desolation every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.
If Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself. In other words, if I’m the devil and I cast out the devil, why would I destroy my own house? So he says in verse 27. And if I buy the yells about the Prince of Devil, if I cast out devils by whom do your children cast them out, therefore they shall be your judges. But if I cast out devils in your underlying statement by the Spirit of God, you see they were saying that you are doing what you’re doing by the power of the devil.
He said I’m doing it by the power of the Holy Spirit. Now he had his own power, but there was the God, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit. Jesus as a man humbled himself to the Father and depended totally upon the Father and did all that he did and all of his miracles. Everything was done by the power of the Holy Spirit. And he depended and yielded and the Holy Spirit had freedom to work to the Son. Of course, this is Son of Volak, I guess a little bit of a way supposed to be today.
You see, you and I, we don’t have no power of our own. Though I am a son of God, I’m a child of the kingdom. But we live and do what we do, not buy our power. But by the Holy Spirit that lives within us. Now take your Bible and look there none. Book of Mark. Take a look in the book of Mark. Look in chapter 5, Mark chapter 5, and look in verse 25, is Jesus the Lord over the demon world?
Well, they can cast out demons, I would say, he qualifies. You see, if he has all power, he should be able to do anything at any time, whatever he things best. And when you see what he can do at different points in his ministry, you know, he’s not limited. He’s not limited. Look at verse 25, and a certain woman, which had an issue of blood 12 years, suffered many things by many physicians, and she had health care. No, and she spent all that she had and was nothing better and rather she got worse.
Have you ever gone to the doctor instead of getting better? He got worse. Well, he kind of scares you today to go to the hospital. They say more people die in the hospital than anywhere else in the world. So the remedy is just out of the hospital. Anyway, people are going to die and some people, doctors are limited. There’s only so much that they can do. And she didn’t spend all of her money. The doctors hadn’t held. So he says, when she heard in verse 27, Jesus came in the press behind.
She touched his garment. For she said, if I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole. Straight away, the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she had been healed of that plague. Jesus immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned about in the presence, says, Who touched my clothes? And the disciples said to him, dossias the multitude, throng in thee, and sayest thou who touched me? But see, it wasn’t just that somebody touched him.
Somebody touched him with faith. Somebody believed something. And isn’t it something that Jesus Christ had the power over illnesses and over sicknesses? You see, if he doesn’t, why do we pray? Why do we ask God to touch and heal anybody? He doesn’t have the power to do it. But you and I are supposed to believe that He is the Lord. He’s God. God’s not letting God can do this. And when sometimes it seems like the doctors, well, they can’t handle everything.
They don’t know everything. Sometimes they’re right. Sometimes they’re not. But we want, we want people to do all that they can. But we know that he’s the great physician and things are in his hands. And he may allow us to be healed and he may allow us to die. Eventually all of us are going to die if the Lord doesn’t come back soon. I watched the man that was in the hospital and I do I knew there’s no way this man’s gonna come out of the hospital But he said my name I told Rick I said we’re gonna take your name off the prayer miss we don’t need to pray for you no more And when if you just saw me in the hospital like I did you wouldn’t think he’d get up there never walk again but here he is But you don’t have any idea the
Lord can intervene and do what he wants none. You’re not just supposed to trust him because if he can heal anybody of anything, you might need to trust his wisdom of whether he does it or not. If he kept us all alive, you realize that we could be born 500 years old when these old creaky bodies, but the day is coming. But he touched in here so he has the power and he has Lord over disease of plagues of anything like this.
Look there in John chapter six. You know if Jesus Christ is the Lord then I would expect him to be able to do a lot of things like remember when he went up on the mountain and he was to be tested and he had an eight for about 40 days. Man 40 minutes is enough. Yeah, an eight for 40 days. It says afterwards he was hungry and the devil says, if you are who you claim to be, then why don’t you just take those stones and make them in the bread?
I just said, what about hot biscuits? We’re just a little butter in it. I used to take my mom used to make those hot biscuits and we’d take peanut butter and molasses and we’d stir it all up and then we’d just stop it. You need a fork and you just stop it. Just get it all over your face. It’s just sloppy. Everyone’s going to know how you get something in the mouth. And he had an 8th of 40 days and says, if you have a pocket.
You know what? Later on, he did. But he did it on his timing, not because of the devil. But here in the book of John, I want you to look at this here. John chapter 6, looking verse 5, verse 5 says, And when Jesus then lifted up his eyes and saw a great company coming to him and he said to them, I fella, when shall we buy bread that these may eat? Now this he said to prove her to test him for he knew in himself what he was going to do.
Now he already knew what he was going to do. So he knew before that he was going to take some, you know, some fish sandwiches for everybody. And there was no McDonald’s around. He was going to make some. Philip answered him, 200 penny worth is a bread. It’s not sufficient for them that every one of them may take a little. One of the disciples, Andrew Simon Peter’s brother, said to him, there’s a land over here. He had five barley loaves and two small fishes, but they said among themselves, he said, well, what’s that among so many?
Jesus says, make the men sit down. Then there was much grass in the place so the men sat down the number about 5,000. That’s just the men. I mean women and children were there and Jesus took the lows and when he had given thanks he distributed to the disciples the disciples to them that were set down and Like was of the fishes as much as they would and when they were filled he said into his disciples gather up the fragments that remain Take the baskets and get all the stuff that was left over Is he in charge?
If he is who he claims to be, if he could supply us with salvation, eternal life, and he has the power to heal these bodies, can he supply us with a fish sandwich? Now, he didn’t do it all the time, but he did it in his own good timing. There’s some things you can’t make God do, but that doesn’t limit God. God still God and you never know when he’s going to pull one on you. I have seen God miraculously do things for me that it just blew my mind, but he doesn’t do it every day of my life.
It was one day when I was in college class. I teach them the kids, not the words, yeah, don’t worry, don’t worry. God always come through. I was telling them that because I was worried sick. I had a bank note, but ten thousand dollars. I had to have it that morning, by nine o’clock when the bank opened. I had no money. We had a ten thousand dollar note at the pay. The leaders in the church, they didn’t know what to do, so they just said, preacher I handle it.
So I’m painting my personal evangelism class at 8 o’clock and I told him, I said, I’m going to have to cut the class short because I’ve got to get down to the bank. And I said, I want you to auto pray. I said, because there’s a big need and I just like the auto pray. I said, I need some money and I’m just trusting the Lord to come through. I was sick. But you know, you got to keep them in the faith, in the believing.
And I walked out of that classroom and I had to go across the auditorium. And on my way, about four or five kids followed me. I turned around and said, look, I’m sorry. I don’t have time to talk to you right now. Can’t take any questions and answers. So I kept on walking and a couple of them dropped off. By the time I got down to the doctor and right and then a couple more still finds out, I said, look, I don’t have time.
I don’t want to be mean, untying, rude, nothing like that, but I can’t talk to you right now. So they all dropped off. I went into my office. There’s one new girl. She just followed me right now with this. I was a little perturbed. I don’t like people defying me all the time, you know. I’m not told what to do. She walked right behind me. And I turned and I said, look, I’m sorry. She says, how much do you need?
I said, I need $10,000. She said, OK. She took out a checkbook and she started writing. And I thought, you know, $100, $250. That ain’t going to help me, none. And that’s a drop in the bucket. I mean, this is one of my college students. She said, bro, I said, what are you doing? She says, I’m writing you out of check. All right. I said, I can’t pay a back. I said, why don’t I have any money to pay a back?
She says, you don’t have to. She gave it to me and I looked at it for $10,000. I’m the president of the college and I didn’t have $100. And here I got a kid sitting here. They can sit and write me out of check for $10,000. And I was trying to get rid of her. And the Lord was chasing me all down through the hallway, down through the auditorium. They even chased me in my office, trying to get me to take this $10,000.
But I didn’t know it. You know what? I’ve had needs like that since then too. And I’ve often wondered where she was at and she never did show up. You never know. But that doesn’t limit God. God, because of his wisdom, may choose to meet that particular need over and above that will just blow your mind. But he has the power to do it. And you need to recognize that.
