I want to explain a few things to you this morning that I’m sure will be a blessing to So you at least I sure hope so. I want to talk to you about an item that’s very important because there’s many people today that believe that Israel is no longer in the picture. Some believe what they call a replacement theology, that the church has replaced the kingdom of Israel. the chart, God laid it out all the way across what’s going to happen.
So I already know what’s going to happen. I cheated. I read the Bible. Everything is broken down into the cross before Him and after Him. Jesus Christ is the King of Israel. He’s not considered to be the King of the church, but He is the King of Israel. And so he came the first time just like he said right on schedule. Now God had made many promises to the nation of Israel. And so many people today don’t believe that Israel has anything to do with anything anymore.
That God has totally cast them aside and he’ll never use them again. And that the church is gonna to bring in the kingdom. Well, I’ve got some news for you. I want you to take your Bible and turn there to the book of Genesis and chapter 12, Genesis and chapter 12. You see, either the church is simply a continuation of the nation of Israel or it’s something totally separate and different than Israel. But is God through with His people?
Here in Genesis chapter 12, I want you to see this in verse 1, Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee. And I will make of thee a great nation. I will bless thee and make thy name great. Thou shalt be a blessing. I will bless them that blessed thee and cursed him that curses thee and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Now this was a promise that God had made to Abraham. When he brought him out of the early cal days and brought him to the land where God says, I’m going to give you this land. It belongs to you. And so God made a promise. He made a covenant with Abraham. And he says that from your loins, you’re going to have this land and a great nation. So God made a promise. Now can God break his work? Can God break the promise that he made?
Take your Bible and turn all the way over there to 2 Samuel in chapter 7. Second Samuel in chapter 7. David had a great desire to build the Lord a house. And the Lord says, you want a what? He says, look, heaven is my throne and the earth, that’s where I put my feet and you want to build me a what? He says, I want to build you a house.
The Lord says, let me tell you something. I’m going to build you a house. David said what? He says, God, I want to build you one. And God said, Oh, I’m going to build you one. Then the fight began. No, not really. But look there in verse two. That the king said unto Nathan the prophet. See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the art of God dwelleth within curtains and is just not fair. I live in a house of cedar.
And we had this time. tabernacle out there that’s been in the wilderness all these years and we’ve been using this old tabernacle this tent God deserves better So he says I want to build a house for the Lord And so There was a discussion here. Look at universe eight now therefore Because God says to Nathan I want you to go tell God David something for me Now therefore go a social thou say unto my servant David Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I took thee from the sheep coat, from following the sheep to be ruler over my people over Israel.
And I was with thee, so ever thou witness, and have cut off all vine enemies out of thy sight, and have made thee a great name, like unto the name of the great man that are in the earth. In the word God said, I made you somebody. everybody knows you. He said, but I made you. So he says here in verse 10, Moreover, I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more.
Neither shall the children of wickedness afflict them anymore as before time. So God’s making quite a few statements here. He said, I’m promising you, this is what I’m going to do. That you don’t have to move anymore and you’re going to be protected. And you look at the nation of Israel and today you think, well, what happened?
But what else he says in verse 11, and as since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel and have caused the to rest from all the enemies, also the Lord telleth thee that he will make thee a house. And when thy days be fulfilled and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.” Now we know that later on see that was Solomon.
Solomon wound up having you know 700 wives and 300 concubines, porcupines. So he had a thousand women and you said well see there look how God blessed him. Now God split the kingdom because of his foolishness. It wasn’t with God blessings and so God split the kingdom and ten nations to the north well that became known as Israel with their capital there in Samaria. The southern two tribes Judah and Benjamin, it came known as the Jews. So we have Israelites and Jews.
So as you study the Bible, you’ll find out there’s time that’s talking about Israel and Jews. Even when Christ came, there was Israelites and there were Jews. Now, get what he says here. He makes the statement of what he’s going to do in Verse 13, He shall build and house for my name. I will establish the throne of His kingdom and you ought to underline these two words, forever. In other words, He says, David, somebody’s gonna come from your loins on down the road and He’s gonna be an unusual individual.
And He’s gonna set up on the throne and He’s gonna live forever. And you’re gonna have a kingdom that’s gonna last forever. That doesn’t sound like the church to me. That sounds like a promise that God made to Israel, and he’s going to fulfill that promise. So he says, in verse 14, I will be his father and he shall be my son. If he committing equity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the stripes of the children of men.
But my mercy shall not depart away from him as I took it from Psalm, whom I put away before the, and vine house, And thine kingdom shall be established and you ought to underline these two words because what we’re talking about has God cast away his people forever? Does Israel still have a place in the plan of God? What’s going on now? Why have they been out of the land for almost 2,000 years and just recently, miraculously, they go back to the land and become established as a nation?
If anybody wants to know what the Bible is true, all you have to do is see what’s happening to Israel. They are the biggest proof that the truth is in the Bible and that God is God. What he says here. He’s going to establish it forever, and he says that thy throne shall be established forever. This is not the church. The church doesn’t have a throne. The church has a head, which is Christ. Christ is the head of the body.
We are the bride of Christ, and one day we’ll be married to the Lamb, and we will rule and reign with Christ forever. But you see, we are the bride of Christ. There is the nation of Israel, and Christ will be the king. He was born king of the Jews. He is the king of Israel. So whenever you study the New Testament, you find out when you come to the book of Matthew, Matthew pictures Jesus Christ as the king of Israel.
And as the king in Israel, he chose his 12 cabinet men, and he speaks lots of times in the book of Matthew explaining how he’s going to rule during the thousand year reign upon the earth. So we have here a period of time. This is called the Davidic Millennial Kingdom. This kingdom right here is 1000 years long. It would have been back here, but they rejected the king. So many people think, well, since the king was rejected, Israel was destroyed and sent to the far corners of the earth that this is not going to happen anymore.
And so many people believe that the church, we’re going to bring in the utopia upon the earth. And we’re supposed to just get everybody so excited about the Lord, that if the Lord wants to have any part, and that he better hurry up, come back. So they believe that the Lord will come back at the end of the millennium and that’s heresy. That is not what the Bible teaches. Now look there in verse 17, according to all these words and according to this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
So now David has a quiet time with God and David says, What? In verse 18, then went King David in and sat before the Lord and he said, Who am I? Oh Lord God, what is my house that thou hast brought me hither to? What in the world are you talking about? What are you going to do? He had an enquiring mind and he wanted to know. In verse 19, and this was yet a small thing in thy sight.
Oh Lord God, But thou hast spoken also of thy servants’ house, and you ought to underline this in your Bible, for a great while to come. And then he says, and is this the manner of man, O Lord God, or another way of saying, what kind of a man is this, that’s going to be born and live forever, and be the king forever? God promised them, you’re going to have a son that’s going to set up on the throne and live forever.
And the increase of his kingdom, there will be no end to it. Did he make some promises? Now look what he says down here in verse 23. And what one nation in the earth is like thy people, even like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself and to make him a name and to do for you great things and terrible for thy land before thy people which thou redeemest to be from Egypt from the nations and their God.”
In other words, no nation ever came to be like this nation. Israel is different from every nation on the face of the earth. There’s never been one to come and do exist like this nation. No one was ever used by God to bring us the word of God except the nation of Israel. Israel was to be the light to the nations of the world as a nation of the true and living God that if they would serve God they would be the light of the world.
Somewhere along the line they kind of got messed up. Israel was the one to bring that Redeemer into the world. Jesus Christ to make the sins for the payment for the sin to the whole world and that’s why he says in all the families of the earth, not just the nation of Israel. All families of the earth would be blessed or be able to be saved because of that one that came from Israel. I used to think to myself, as I’ve studied the Bible, I wished I wished Jewish.
I’d love to have a big old start to even rhyme I guess I’m what they call a dirty go away. I don’t know. I’m a Gentile. I’m not Jewish, but I have a little Jew in me. Anyway, y’all get that after a while. Look what he says in verse 24, “‘For thou hath confirmed to thyself, thy people Israel, to be a people unto thee for how long? For ever. And thou, Lord, art become their God.” So there is a true and living God and there is a people that have been chosen by God to be the light of the world Israel has messed up pretty bad But God didn’t make the promises in his word Now take your Bible look in Isaiah chapter 9 the book of Isaiah and chapter 9 We often read these verses at Christmas time.
I know it ain’t Christmas time, but I I want to read it to you again anyway. Because see, if Israel can totally be annihilated, all the Jews can be annihilated, you could disprove the Bible. But there’s a lot of people who like to do that. But the Bible is true. The people of Israel, even when they’re out of the land, there’s a remnant that has got God’s protection upon them. And I don’t care how many of the so-called Islamic nation that want to destroy Israel, Israel is God’s people and they are protected in a miraculous way.
God says, I will bless them, that blessed thee, and I will curse them, that cursed thee. That’s what He said. America has been blessed because it stood with Israel and America will be cursed when it turns against Israel. I’m just telling what the book said. You don’t like that. You got a problem with God. Not me. I didn’t write it. And if a person can give me one good reason not to believe this book, do it. I’ve been studying for 49 years.
I believe this book is the word of God. Now, here in Isaiah in chapter 9, look what he says in verse 6. God had given to Isaiah some insights on some things about the future. And he says in verse 6, for unto us a child is born. The child is born unto us a son is given. Now when he’s born, that’s when Christ came into the world. A son would be given that’s Christ on the cross. This is written 700 years in advance.
And give what he says about this unusual child that David says, what kind of a man is this? A child that’s going to be born and live forever? But he says, that’s going to happen after you’re dead. Now, anytime people take those verses and just apply that to Solomon, I’m just going on down the line to the one that will fulfill it. Because Solomon’s kingdom came to an end. And God promised that there’s a son from David that will not come to an end.
It ain’t over yet, folks. God ain’t through yet. So he says here, and the government shall be upon his shoulders. I mean, he’ll rule and reign. His name is name. Ah, he’s going to tell us who he is now. His name is called, called Wonderful Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting thought, wait a minute, who is this? The one that’s gonna come and be born is called the mighty God, the everlasting father. How can you have an everlasting father without an everlasting son?
Jesus Christ is God. God manifested in the flesh. Jesus Christ was not just a Jew that was born into this world, he was God and took upon Jewish flesh and came to the nation of Israel. But he came to die for the sins of the whole world. But God used the nation of Israel, but God isn’t through with the nation of Israel. Now, I’ll leave you what he says in verse 7 of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be in those two little words you ought to underline them shall be what no end you won’t end upon the throne of David that’s the kingdom that’s the promise that was made to David in his throne get this upon his throne And upon his kingdom, not talking about the church, to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice from, and you ought to underline this, henceforth, even forever.
Now to me that seems like a long time. To me, that seems like there’s no end to this thing. To me, that seems like God made a promise to Israel and the Kingdom and David the King that Jesus Christ is going to rule. The nation of Israel one day will be the greatest nation in all the world. According to this book, and I’ll try to show that to you. Got enough time. Look there in the book of Luke, the Gospel of Luke.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and chapter one, Luke chapter one. And look what he says concerning Jesus Christ when he was going to be born. Look what he says in verse, we’ll just start there in verse 31. And behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, brain for a son shall call his name Jesus. Now so the Bible tells us that God visited this young virgin and the Holy Spirit placed within the womb of this young woman, this virgin, the seed by which a body was prepared for the son and and he makes the statement here, he shall be great.
Get this in verse 32. This is the one that God promised to David way back there. He shall be great and shall be called the son of the highest and the Lord God shall give unto him the church. No, the throne of his father, David, and get this and he shall reign over the house of Jacob. That’s Israel for you that may not know. Jacob for how long? So that means that Israel isn’t been done away with. And so this replacement theology where some people think that the church today has replaced the nation of Israel, America is not Israel.
There is a nation called Israel. That’s Israel. Over there in the Middle East, Israel. That’s where there’s Jews and Israelites. And he says in verse 30, and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever and of his kingdom there shall be no what? No end to it. Now this was before the church ever started. This was before there’s anything about the church age where we are. But it’s so important to understand this because it affects how you view what’s going on in the world today.
And is there any chance or hope and what’s going to happen to that little obitination over there called Israel surrounded by 50-some Arab nations that will love to see her totally destroyed? But God has miraculously put a little hedge about that nation and God got great things in store for Israel. Now there’s some bad things coming, but then it’s going to get real good. I’m going to be here for that. Take your Bible and turn to the book of Romans.
book of Romans and chapter 11. Romans chapter 11. Romans chapter 11, notice there in verse 1, verse 1. The apostle Paul was of the tribe of Benjamin, Judah, Benjamin, made up Judah, And Jerusalem was their capital. The northern ten tribes, well they were taken by Syria and later on they came in later and took the rest of them, never Knessra. So the people had been scattered, but miraculously some have come back and people talk about the lost ten tribes.
Nothing’s lost. God knows where everybody is. He’s gonna bring them back. In the book of Ezekiel, it talks about the two branches and how God’s gonna take and bring them back together again. They’re gonna be one nation just like always, but anyway, look here. In verse one, he says, I say then half God cast away his people. Sure looks like it, don’t it? I mean, even less than a hundred years ago, there was no nation of Israel. So, evidently, you know, God’s through with them, and, you know, they will never be a nation again.
But look how God has blessed in the last days, and Israel has gone back to the land, become established as a nation, but they’re back in unbelief. And yet one of these days, you and I know if we believe this book, there’s going to be a temple that’s going to be rebuilt. has to be. Because we believe that the Antichrist will go into the temple and claim himself that he’s God. There’s got to be a temple. So somewhere along the line in the media, one of these days, whether or not a peace treaty will hinge upon that or not, I don’t know.
Whether or not to give Israel the right to exist as a people, the right to their land, and the right to rebuild their temple. I think it’s exciting. Wonderin’ when it’s all gonna come to happen, but I believe it will. It has to. When you know what the Word of God says, it gives you great confidence and great boldness. Now look what he says here. He says, have God cast away his people? Which he foreknew? No, you know what the scripture said of Elijah?
And how he make up the intercession to God against Israel, Lord, they’ve killed my prophets and dig down by an altar and I’m left alone. There’s nobody else here but me.” The Lord says, ah, shut up. I got 7,000 to have in bow the knee to bail. You think you’re the only one. God always has his remnant and that he has. But God has chosen a particular thing. God has chosen to use the nation of Israel as a nation if they will serve him, what it’s like as a nation to be a blessing.
And if they rebel against God, God will use them as a vessel of wrath to show his anger upon and his judgment upon. That regardless of who you are, you can’t live as you please and get away with it because there’s a God in heaven that can smite and Israel has suffered the consequences of the rejection of Jesus Christ for almost 2,000 years. But one day things are going to change. Now look what he says here. I want you to see this.
In verse 9, David said, let their table be made a snare and a trap and a stumbling block and a recompense unto the, let their eyes be darkened that they may not see and how that bob down their back always. I see them have they stumbled that they should fall, God forbid. But rather through their fall, salvation is coming to the Gentiles for to provoke them to jealousy. There’s no reason to provoke them to jealousy if they don’t exist anymore.
