Solomon’s Kingdom came to an end. And God promised that there’s a son from David that will not come to an end. It ain’t over yet, folks. God ain’t through yet. So he says here, And the government shall be upon his shoulders. I mean, he’ll rule and reign. His name is name. Ah, he’s going to tell us who he is now. His name is called, called Wonderful Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting thought. Who is this? The one that’s going to come and be born is called the mighty God, the everlasting Father.
How can you have an everlasting Father without an everlasting Son? Jesus Christ is God. God manifested in the flesh. Jesus Christ was not just a Jew that was born into this world, he was God and took up on Jewish flesh and came to the nation of Israel, but he came to die for the sins of the whole world. But God used the nation of Israel, but God isn’t through with the nation of Israel. Now, leave what he says. In verse 7 of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be in those two little words you ought to underline them shall be what no end you won’t end upon the throne of David that’s the kingdom that’s the promise that was made to David in his throne get this upon his throne and upon his kingdom not talking about the church to order it and to establish it with judgment and
with justice from, and you ought to underline this, henceforth, even for ever, forever. Now to me that seems like a long time. To me that seems like there’s no end to this thing. To me that seems like God made a promise to Israel and the Kingdom and David the King that Jesus Christ is going to rule. The nation of Israel one day will be the greatest nation in all the world. According to this book, and I’ll try to show that to you in a fine enough time.
Look there in the book of Luke, the Gospel of Luke, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and chapter 1, Luke chapter 1. And look what he says concerning Jesus Christ when he was going to be born. what he says in verse, we’ll just start there in verse 31. And behold thou shalt conceive in thy womb, bring forth a son shall call his name Jesus. Now, so the Bible tells us that God visited this young virgin and the Holy spirit placed within the womb of this young woman, this virgin, the seed by which a body was prepared for the sun.
And he makes the statement here, he shall be great. Get this in verse 32. This is the one that God promised to David way back there. He shall be great and shall be called the son of the highest and the Lord God shall give unto him the church. No, the throne of his father, David, and get this and he shall reign over the house of Jacob. That’s Israel for you that may not know. Jacob for how long? So that means that Israel isn’t been done away with.
And so this replacement theology where some people think that the church today has replaced the nation of Israel. America is not Israel. There is a nation called Israel. That’s Israel. Over there in the Middle East, that is Israel. That’s where there’s Jews and Israelites. And he says in verse 30, and he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever and of his kingdom, there shall be no what? No end to it. Now this This was before the church ever started.
This was before there’s anything about the church age where we are. But it’s so important to understand this because it affects how you view what’s going on in the world today. And is there any chance or hope and what’s going to happen to that little obitination over there called Israel? by fifty-some Arab nations that will love to see her totally destroyed. But God has miraculously put a little hedge about that nation, and God got great things in store for Israel.
Now there’s some bad things coming, but then it’s going to get real good. I’m going to be here for that. your Bible and turn to the book of Romans. The book of Romans and chapter 11. Romans chapter 11. Romans chapter 11. Notice there in verse 1. Verse 1. The Apostle Paul was of the tribe of Benjamin. Judah, Benjamin made up Judah, and Jerusalem was their capital. The northern ten tribes, well they were taken by Syria, and later on they came in later and took the rest of them, never connection.
So the people had been scattered, but miraculously some have come back, and people We talk about the lost 10 tribes. Nothing’s lost. God knows where everybody is. He’s gonna bring them back. In the book of Ezekiel, it talks about the two branches and how God’s gonna take and bring them back together again. They’re gonna be one nation, just like always, but anyway, look here. In verse one, he says, I say then half God cast away his people. Sure looks like it, don’t it?
I mean even less than 100 years ago, there was no nation of Israel. So evidently, you know, God’s two of them and you know, they will never be a nation again. But look how God has blessed in the last days. And Israel has gone back to the land, become established as a nation, but they’re back in unbelief. And yet one of these days, you and I know if we believe this book, there’s going to be a temple that’s going to be rebuilt has to be because we believe that the antichrist will go into the temple and claim himself that he’s God.
There’s got to be a temple. So somewhere along the line in the media one of these days whether or not a peace treaty will hinge upon that or not. I don’t know whether not to give Israel the right to exist as a people the right to their land and And the right to rebuild their temple. I think it’s exciting. Wonder and win. It’s all going to come to happen. But I believe it will. It has to. When you know what the Word of God says, it gives you great confidence and great boldness.
Now look what he says here. He says, have God cast away His people? Which He foreknew? No, you know what the scripture said of Elijah? and how we make an intercession to God against Israel’s sin. Lord, they’ve killed by prophets and dig down by an altar, and I’m a left alone. There’s nobody else here but me. And the Lord says, ah, shut up. I got 7,000 to have in bow the knee to bail. You think you’re the only one.
God always has His remnant, and that He has. But God has chosen. A particular thing. God has chosen to use the nation of Israel as a nation if they will serve him. What it’s like as a nation to be a blessing. And if they rebel against God, God will use them as a vessel of wrath to show his anger upon and his judgment upon. That regardless of who you are, you can’t live as you please and get away with it.
Because there’s a God in heaven that can smite. And Israel has suffered the consequences of the rejection of Jesus Christ for almost 2,000 years. But one day things are going to change. Now look what he says here. I want you to see that in verse 9, David said, let their table be made a snare and a trap and a stumbling walk and a recompense into the, let their eyes be darkened that they may not see and how that bobbed down their back always.
always. I see them have they stumbled that they should fall, God forbid. But rather through their fall salvation is coming to the Gentiles for to provoke them to jealousy. There’s no reason to provoke them to jealousy if they don’t exist anymore. Now let’s just pretend for example I have a tree over here. Israel came from a root. All the way down. Remember it’s always talks about the God of Abraham, Isaac Jacob, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob, 12 sons, and boom, this great big tree.
Well, what God has done is cut off the tree. But is he forsaken him forever? No. God says that he made something brand new, new. And he’s taken believing Gentiles and believing Jews and putting them together and made the church. Now, he’s not done with the nation of Israel, he just set them aside temporarily and he’s accomplishing his purpose with the church. That’s why from the time of the cross, what we call the Holy Spirit when he came down, this is called the church age.
It’s called the body age. It’s the grace age. This is the time where you and I live, lasted almost 2,000 years. But we are like a parenthetical expression in a sentence. In other words, if God was to take all of this out, then all of this would slide right up against the cross. And so God is going to take us out, we call it the Rapture, and then God’s timetable is clocked that He uses the nation of Israel, time goes until here and Christ was crucified and the clock stops.
The church age came in here and now when the rapture takes place and we’re taking out of here, God will start the time clock again and clicks with Israel. Israel is God’s time clock. And so Israel is very, very important in relationship to what’s going on in the world. And the nations of the world all know and all watch that one little bitty nation over there, the size of Rhode Island. Isn’t that amazing? That is amazing. Take your Bible very quickly and look there in the book of Zechariah.
Hold your place right here in Romans coming and coming back But I want you to see this in Zechariah, Zechariah and chapter 12. Zechariah chapter 12. But look there in Zechariah chapter 12, and look what he says in verse 2, Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. And in verse 3, and I will in that day make a Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people.
Nobody knows how to handle Israel. They don’t know what to do with Israel because they want them to have peace, but Israel knows there will be no peace because the one they want to have peace would want to annihilate them. And it’s not good for America or any nation to say, look, you give them some land for peace. God says in the book of Hosea, I’m against them that part my land. His land is not to be divided. God gave it to Israel.
And people ought to stop trying to take it away from them. You see, well, what about all those people that live over there? You know, the Palestinians, what’s that? Look, there’s 50 something nations that could take them in, but they don’t want them. They want them to be there like a burner saddle. But God gave the land to Israel.
Now, take your Bible and look there in chapter 14 of Zachariah and look in verse 1. In verse 1 it says, Behold, the day of the Lord cometh. When it says capital L O R D, that’s Jehovah, the day of Jehovah. And I spoil Chabidi, vad in the midst of thee, and I will gather, get this all nations against Jerusalem to battle. And the city shall be taken to house rifle, the women ravish, and half of the city shall go into captivity and the residue of the people should not be cut off from the city.
Then shall the Lord, L-O-R-D, the Lord go forth and fight against those nations as when He fought in the day of battle and His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives. Now He said, well, where’s all that going to take place? Well, I’m glad you asked. Look over here. This is when He comes back in power and great glory. His feet will touch upon the Mount of olives. He comes down here and this is the ending of the tribulation period.
The worst period of time the world has ever known and Christ will then set up His kingdom upon this earth. So we know this is where we are right now. The next thing to happen is for the rapture will be taken out of this world. There’ll be seven-year tribulation upon this earth which is the worst period of time the world has ever known and then Christ comes back. And when He comes back He says there’s something is going to happen.
He tells us in his word that the church we have been grafted in. See the one that they, the builders, rejected the stone, that’s Christ, they stumble over him because they didn’t realize who he was. He was their king, their Messiah, but that he was rejected. So the one that was rejected became the head of the corner. Now he is the the head of the church. And he’s calling out from among the individual believing Jews and Gentiles for the last 2000 years.
And we make up the body of Christ. We’re going to be the bride of Christ. And there’s going to be a wedding. He’s going to come back to the earth. But whenever the raptor takes place and we’re taken out, he says, he’s going to take the Jewish nation and graft them back in. They’re the natural branches going to grab them back in. And Israel is going to flourish. Well, look what he says there in verse 19, I will say then the branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.
Well, because of unbelief, they were broken off and I’ll stand at my faith. be not high-minded, but the only reason that we have what we have, and God has used us like He’s used us, is because Israel rejected Messiah. So God is now at this point, yes, using us, but we haven’t replaced Israel. We are to do some of the things that God wants to do, but all those promises and pledges that He made to the nation of Israel still belong to Israel, not the church.
Whenever God told them in the Old Testament, chronicles 14, when he says, if my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and call upon me and forsake their sin, I will heal their land. That’s to the nation of Israel. We can’t take that verse and apply it to the United States of America and say, God, we got your promise on that. God God didn’t promise that to the church. He promised that to Israel. Now we can apply a lot of things, but we can’t say this is what it refers to.
God didn’t take those things and make them apply to the church ages which we live. We are a spiritual body. Look there now in verse 23. And they also, if they abides not steal an unbelief, get to chubby, graft it in, for God is able to, and your underlying is, Grap them in again. It means he’s not through with him. He can graft them in again. And he says here, for if thou art cut off out of the olive tree, which is wowed by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more shall these which be the natural branches?
In the Lord, if God can take you and I, the church, the Gentiles and graft us into that Jew, And we have received his eternal life, then God can take us out when we go to the Lord in heaven, and you’re going to take Israel and graft them back in. Now, why were they taken out? Well, because of unbelief. Why would we put in? Because of belief. And one day it’s going to happen again. So we’d see there in verse 25.
But I… For I would not brethren that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceit that blindness and your underlying needs to words in part is happened to Israel until the oldest of the Gentiles become in. In the words when God has got all of the Gentiles in that He wants, believing Jews and Gentiles made of them to one body, the rapture takes place, it’s complete, and then the Jewish nation will be grafted in again.
And let me show you what happens. See there in verse 26? And so all Israel, and you ought to underline these three words, shall be saved. This takes place in the future. So evidently it ain’t over yet. Israel still has a place in the plan of God. We are only here temporarily till God gets through Chishna and then dealing with the nation of Israel. And God is going to judge this whole world. The tribulation period is a chasting hand of God upon Israel once again and also upon the whole earth.
If they don’t like the global warming problem, they really going to have a problem. Because God is going to do some things. But now, once you see that verse 20, and so all Israel shall be saved as it is written and refers to the Old Testament, there shall come out of Zion, the deliverer, and shall turn away on Godliness from Jacob. He calls you going to take their sins. And as you go down through here, it is plum good.
See the first one now? For the gifts and the calling of God are without repenting. In other words, God can’t change his mind on things he’s already given his word on. And he made promises and they’re going to be fulfilled, just like he said. So we need to understand something that should be clear to us. Look there in this verse 32, for God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon how many? Oh, God so loved the world, but he has concluded that we’re all an unbelief so that he can have mercy on all of them.
In other words, everybody gets saved the same way. So the Bible says in the book of Zachariah in chapter 13, that when they see him coming back and powering great glory, and they say, where did you get those wounds in your hands? He said, I got these in the house of my friends when he came the first time. So when he comes back then, that’s in the book of Zechariah.
This is before Christ ever came, but it’s a prophecy. We have a book that’s divine. This is given by God. Yes, we can know what’s going to happen in the future. So is God through with Israel? No, he’s not through with Israel. Do we take the place of Israel? No, we don’t take the place of Israel. We have awesome responsibilities given to us, but one of these days we’re out of here. I’m going to be with the Lord. Look up here.
This hand represents you and me and the Father represents sin. Now God says that He loves us, but He hates our sin, and we all do things wrong. And the Bible says, for us to pay for sin is eternal separation from God in a place called hell. God does not want you and I to go to hell. He wants us to have eternal life. He wants us to go to heaven. But he says, you have to be perfect. You have to be as righteous as God.
And none of us are perfect. None of us are righteous. So the Bible says we cannot save ourselves by any good deeds that we’ve done. So God used the nation of Israel to bring the word of God to the world, to bring the Messiah, the Redeemer, the one that’s going to pay for the sins of the world, God brought him to the nation of Israel. We ought to be very, very thankful to the nation of Israel, though they did a lot of things wrong and they still in unbelief, they’re people that God has used in a miraculous way and he still said, whether we like it or we I like it.
I will bless them that blessed thee and I will curse them that cursed thee. I would be very careful of saying things against the nation of Israel or against the Jewish people or against Israel, the people themselves. Because God in heaven don’t play games. And I believe that we have a president right now but to be very careful. That’s my humble opinion. This man represents Jesus Christ. God in the flesh, he came into this world because he loves us.
He hates our sin because it separates us from him. So Jesus Christ who had no sin didn’t have to die. He took hours. Now he has to die. And he came back from the dead. And God said if we’ll believe that he did it for us, he’d put that payment to our account and we get to go to heaven or what he did. God says for by grace are you saved through faith that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast.
And when you believe it, he says these things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life. How many of you in here know positively, you know, shout out, if you die right now, you know you have eternal life and you’re going to heaven. Let me see you in. All right, put it down. I mean, no, you’re going to hell. No, no, no. If you’re here this morning and you have no clue, now you just saw a lot of people raise their hand.
Is it because they’re better than you? No. It’s because they have admitted something. They’ve admitted they’re a sinner. You are too, you just maybe not want to admit it, but Christ paid for their sins. But He also paid for yours. And if you want to go to heaven, all you have to do is the same thing that they did, the same thing I had to do. But believe He did it for you. If you believe He did it for you, He’ll put this payment to your account and you get to go to heaven or what He did.
That is salvation by grace and grace alone. Let’s pray, shall we? Every head, bow in every eye, close, no one looking around. If you hear this morning and you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, would you just talk to Him right now? And in the quietness of this moment, say something simple like this to the Lord. He knows your thoughts. Lord, I know I’m a sinner. I know I’ve done things wrong. And I don’t want to go to hell.
I want to go to heaven. And I believe you died on that cross and paid for my sins and came back from the dead. And Lord, right now, I will accept Jesus Christ as my Savior. And, friend, God said, if you would do just that much, that’s really all you have to do, that He would save you from hell and give you eternal life. If you’re making that decision, I’d like to have prayer for you. I’m not going to embarrass you.
I have you forward or doing thing to you. I just want to know if what I said made sense to you. And if it does make sense to you and you trust Christ as your Savior, I’d like to know it. And I’d like to have prayer for you and close them. So I hit by a nice close. No one looking around is angry with us. I’ll say, yes, I’ll trust Christ as my Savior today and pray, just like me to pray for me.
We’ll just slip your hand very quickly and put it right back down. You hear them at all? No one will just slip it up, put it right back down. I can’t see everybody, but if you want to talk to me afterward, I’ll be glad to talk to you. But this is so important. Father, we thank you so much for your blessings to us for allowing us to know these things that are in your word so that we can explain them and share them with others.
This is a great time to live. What a wonderful opportunity you’ve given us. I pray, Lord, your blessings upon each person here in Christ’s name we pray. Amen.
