Do you remember some of y’all want? About 35 years ago or so, people were having to build bomb shelters. Because we’re afraid that Russia was going to drop a few little nukes here and there and people wanted to prepare for it And so kids were told how to duck down underneath their desk and and Prepare for a nuclear fallout and everybody was talking about it at one time. I don’t know how many of y’all remember that I’m not making it up It’s been postponed for a while, but it could take place yet in the future Hold your place right here and look there in the book of 2 Peter and chapter 3, 2 Peter and chapter 3.
I want you to see this. You’ll notice that there’s an interesting verse here. Look there in verse 10. In verse 10. When God had talked about, you know, why does it seem like it’s taken so long for the Son of Man to come back? And so He says, there shall be a mockers in the last day. Saying, where’s the fulfillment of the promise of this coming? And so they mock and they make fun. And he says, God does not count slackness as men do.
And God fulfilled his promise the first time by destroying the earth with water. Says that the next time it’s gonna be by fire. But God is patient. and he describes the future in verse 10. But the day of the L.O.R.D. Lord will come, as a thief in the night, in the which the heaven shall pass away with a great noise. The element shall melt with fervent heat. The earth also in the works that are therein shall be burned up, seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, man or persons ought we to be.
So we believe that this is going to happen. Look in verse 12, looking for and hastening unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens been on fire, shall be dissolved, the elements shall melt with fervor and heat. Now, is that a reference to the same thing that he’s talking about here in the book of Isaiah? It’s a reference at the same time, I believe, I don’t have to happen two or three or four or five times, but I believe that it must be true.
And this scripture will add to this scripture and then some more scripture and some more scripture. And after all, you get a picture of what God’s going to do in the future. Now go back to the book of Isaiah, Isaiah chapter 24. And you’ll notice that when they hide themselves in the pit and they come out like in the window, and then all of a sudden there is a radiation fallout, I don’t know. I can’t say that it doesn’t refer to that.
And if you’ve got a better suggestion, we’re fine. That’s good. Look what he said in verse nine, the earth is utterly broken down. The earth is cleaned, is off. The earth is moved exceedingly. Get this in verse 20. The earth shall reel to and pro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage, and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it, and then shall fall and not rise again. Now this is what God says He’s going to do to the earth.
And as you read the scriptures, it describes a gigantic earthquake that takes place toward the end of the tribulation period and talking about cities being totally destroyed and every mountain being moved and every island being moved, it’s going to be a bad day to be on the earth. Now, where are you going to be when this takes place? I’m going to be with the Lord. Now, if you want to be here, you can go right ahead, but I don’t plan on being here.
And by the way, I’ve already decided that if the Raptor takes place today, y’all can have my motor home. I won’t need it. Peter, you want it? Okay. Peter says he wants it over there. All right. Now, take your Bible and turn over there to Joel chapter 2. Now, generally, you know, we talk about the blowing of the shofar. We talk about when you’re in the Bible. And that is done, a feast of trumpets. There’s going to be the blowing of the trumpet, and there will be a gathering together of God’s people and generally for war, or of the regathering, because God says, I got something I want to do for you.
So God’s going to call his people together. And then seven years later, there’s going to be, oh, it’s really going to blast them. But look in verse one, look in verse one, chapter two, chapter two, below ye the trumpet in Zion. Now I believe this is right at the time of the tribulation period. Sound and alarm in my holy mountain, let all the inhabitants of the land tremble for the day of the Lord cometh. Now we find that in the book of Revelation.
We found it in the book of 2 Thessalonians. Find it in 2 Peter, chapter 3, find it in the book of Isaiah, and chapter 2, verse 12. Now you find it here in the book of Joel. It will, it’s in a lot of places. The day of the Lord will come. But in each case, there’s a little bit extra knowledge that’s given about this period of time. But look at says in verse two, as he describes the tribulation period, this day of trouble, a day of darkness and of gloominess.
They have clouds and a thick darkness as the morning spread upon the mountains a great people and strong There have not been ever the life neither shall be any more after it in other words saying once again There’s never been a time like this before and there never be a time like it after now We read something like that the book of Matthew chapter 24 So I believe there’s a connection And it says even to the years of many generations get to number three a fire devourth before them.
And behind them a flame burneth. The land is the garden of Eden before them and behind them a desolate wilderness, yea, and nothing shall escape them. Now you’ll hear and see some things in here and talks about perhaps there’s something that sounds like a horse but it’s not a horse. In verse 4 the appearance of them is as the appearance of horses and as horsemen so shall they run. Now you’ll find out some of this year also in the book of Revelation when he talks about some weird things coming out of the pit and they have faces like horses and they sound like horses but there’s a possibility they may not be horses but I’ll cover that when we get there.
And as horsemen so shall they run. Look in verse 5, like the noise of the chariots on the tops of mountains shall they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that be voweth the st of them. As a strong people said in battle right now some people say well no this could be airplanes, helicopters, something that flies in the air but makes great noise and fires coming down. I don’t know. I don’t know how they would have described it back in their day.
But you know all this here has to happen in that little window. Not a lot of time. So there’s a good possibility that this is the most dynamic period of time upon the face of the earth. It’s just, I’m not going to be here for it. It doesn’t have a good description saying, hey, that’s where I want to be. Not this place. Looking for a sic, before their faces, the people shall be much pained. All faces shall gather blackness.
They shall run Unlike mighty men, they shall climb the wall like men of war, and they shall march everyone on his way, and they shall not break their rank. Neither shall one thrust aside, they shall walk everyone in his path, and when they fall upon the sword, they shall not be wounded. They shall run to and fro in the city, they shall run upon the wall, they shall climb up upon the houses, they shall enter in at the windows like a thief.
The earth shall quake before them, the heavens shall tremble, but sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withhold their shining.” This is description of what’s going to take place during the tribulation period. Now I don’t try to figure out every little thing in here. I can see and I can try to put it together. But I know where it belongs. You see, it’s like having, you know, a close rack in the house. You can take a shirt off and you put it on the hanger and you hang it on the rack.
Knowing some of these outlines, a biblical survey, a prophecy, you know, this meat hangs there and this meat that goes there and this year it goes there. And after a while you can find a place for all of it, but I haven’t found the place for all of it yet. I’m still studying it. Look what he says in verse 15 or chapter 1. A last for the day, for the day of the Lord is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.
So you know this is a period of time where God is going to pour out his wrath upon the earth, For all the shenanigans of all these nations and all these people and they thought they’re gonna get away with it. No, they’re not God You’re still on throne Now as you read all of this stuff, there’s a lot of interesting things down through here I ain’t got time to cover all of them, but you know in Joel chapter 2 There’s a scripture found here that’s also minted in the book of Acts and chapter 2 that when they were speaking in tongues on the day of Pentecost.
Peter stood up and says, this is that which is been fulfilled according to Joel, but it wasn’t all that fulfilled. Look what he says in verse 28. Verse 28 says, and it shall come to pass afterwards that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh and your sons and your daughter shall prophesy your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall vision and also upon the servants and upon the handmaids and those days will I pour out my Spirit.
Now this is a fulfillment in Acts chapter 2 of these scriptures that are mentioned right here and it quotes these verses but it it didn’t all happen at that time but it is a reference to the tribulation period. See there verse 30 and I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth blood and fire and pillars of smoke. Get this, the sun shall be turned into darkness, the moon into blood before. Get that, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.
So right before the Lord comes back this period of time, this great tribulation period of time right here, is when God says the stars are going to fall and the sun is not going to shine and the moon is going to be turned into blood. That’s it. Right before you go. And when you read Matthew 24, you’ll see that it all comes together. It all jives. It’s all in order. And there’s no contradiction in the word of God. Now, that’s going to happen at that period of time.
Now look there in verse 2 of chapter 3. And I will gather all nations and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat and will plead with them there for my people for my heritage Israel whom they have scattered among the nations and parted my land and look there in verse 4 all the coast of Palestine. Do we have it in our time when they want to part the land of Israel? That’s what they’re talking about. This is written at most 800 years before Christ.
Just a coincidence and all of it has to hit within a certain period of time. It’s awesome. It really is. And this is where you find out when it’s all over. The God says, I want to take your medal and make pruning hooks out of it. Plow shares, not weapons of war. See that in verse 9. Proclaim ye this among the Gentiles. Prepare a war. Wake up the mighty men. Let all the men of war draw near. Let them come up.
Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears. Let the weak say I am strong. So there’s going to be a time when they will do this and then there’s going to come a time when they will not do this because God says it’s going to all be changed. See, the Gentiles are going to come against Israel in the Valley of Jehoshapal, we call it sometimes the plains of Jeh Israel, the Megiddo area. This is when God takes and pulls in all these grapevines from all of the earth and pulls in the Gentiles into this great big old valley and God’s going to stop them with his feet and all this grape juice, which is the blood as it goes down 200 miles, it’s going to come into the valley right there to Kidron Valley We believe at Jerusalem.
And that’s why when he says, multitude, multitude in the Valley of Decision. This is referring to those people that go there. Remember when Christ says that the day will come, when two will be in the bed, one taken one left, two will be in the fields, one taken one left? Meaning people think that’s talking about the rapture. No. Because it asked the question where were they taken and they were taken to the battle of Armageddon for destruction That’s not the Rapture means people think I talk about no, it’s not Raptors not revealed in Matthew 24 is talking about at the end of the tribulation period and So he says they’re gonna part his land, but look in verse 15 now chapter two of the book of Joel He says in verse 15, the sun and the moon, Chabi darken, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
The Lord also shall roar out of Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem, and the heavens and the earth shall shake, but the Lord shall be the hope of his people and the strength of the children of Israel. So this is what is going to take place. Now, as you go through and you study all of this, it sure does get good. I want to show you one of the verse. Look there in the book of Ezekiel 37. Go back to your left.
Ezekiel 37 and look there in chapter 37. Ezekiel chapter 37. The Lord talks about how he is going to take the children of Israel and he says, I am going to have them born in a day. That’s in the 11th chapter of the book of Romans. But here you’ll notice it written in verse 25, 26, and 27. And he’s talking about the new birth. God says, this is what I’m going to do. But it says, there’s going to be a time when he’s going to take these dry bones and he’s going to bring them together.
And God’s people are going to rise again. If you will, you’ll look there in verse 11 of chapter 37, then said, under me, son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. This is future. And it’s the whole house of Israel. Some people talk about the lost tribes of Israel. They’re not lost. God knows right where everybody is. I told a person the other day, Jewish person, I said, I believe there’s a good possibility. I have have no proof of it, have no way of proof.
But I have, I have, I did. I said, I believe that somewhere along the line, they’re going to be able to prove by the DNA code, somehow every person in the nation of Israel, what tribe they came from. I believe that somehow God has pre-programmed it into their DNA. And they’ll be able to find out what tribe they belong to. That’s just the Yankee algae. I can’t prove a word at it. But it sounds good. Don’t it sound good?
I think it sounds good. But anyway, he says there’s a time coming. Remember Solomon, who really messed up with all those women? You say, well, that’s why he was so wise he had all those counselors. But God split the kingdom after he died. And because God split the kingdom, 10 nations, 10 tribes became known as Israel. Their capital was in Samaria. And you had the southern two tribes Judah and Benjamin and their capital was in Jerusalem. So you had Jews, Israelites.
But the whole house of Israel, well once again be one stick, not two sticks. So God says that I’m going to join them together. Look there in verse 19. The last part of verse 19, the last line, they shall be one in my hand. One stick.” And then he says there in verse 21, and say unto them, thus saith the Lord God, behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen and bring them into their land.
Verse 22, and I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel. One king shall be king to them all, and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms anymore at all. Now down in verse 24. And David, my servant, shall be king over them. I believe that King David is once again doing the thousand year reign upon the earth is going to be here. Now it’s interesting that he is explaining all of this in the 37th chapter.
Then he backs up when he gets to the 38th chapter. The 38th chapter has got to happen and the 39th chapter got to happen before the 37th chapter can happen. So he tells you what he’s going to do. Then he tells you now, first of all, this has got to happen. So when you read the 38th chapter, you’re talking about a battle that’s going to take place, the Battle of Gog and Magog, that God says is going to take place.
This is during the tribulation period. There’s another battle that takes place at the end of the thousand year reign upon the year and that’s Over without any problem. Lord just nets over this is a battle that takes place here on the earth and God describes it and even mentions of the the allies of Russia and goes on down through here and says a lot of good stuff that you can read later on on your own But what I want you to see there is in verse 19.
So it says, in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken. Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel so that the fishes of the sea and the fowls of the heaven and the beasts of the field and all creeping things that creep upon the earth and all the men that are upon the face of the earth shall shake at my present and the mountain shall be thrown down.
The steep places shall fall and every wall shall fall to the ground.” See, this is what we’ve been studying in the other places. Same thing, but see, this is at the end of the tribulation period. This is doing that period of time. I don’t get too caught up on the little detail stuff. I just like to have the whole picture, you know, what’s going on. So look what he says in verse 21, And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, sayeth the Lord God, every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood. I will reign upon him and upon his bands and upon the many people that are with him and overflowing rain and great hell stones and fire and brimstone. Thus will I magnify myself and sanctify myself. And I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know I’m the Lord. This whole thing is about people knowing that God is God. He’s God. He is the Lord.
There is nobody like him. And of course, there’s a lot of things we could go into, but we don’t need to. Let’s go back now to chapter six in Revelation. And close right there. I don’t just see something. Revelation chapter six. Now look there again at verse 12. After we have been around the world, in verse 12 he says, and beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake. Now we just read scripture, the talk to bat, there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel.
Let me show you this. Now hold your place right here, but look over there to your right, right to the 16th chapter of the book of Revelation. 16th chapter book of Revelation. In verse 17 and the seventh angel, which is the last angel poured out his valop on the air and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven from the throne saying it is what? Done. It means it must be then at the end of of the period of time God poured out of his wrath.
Now there’s other things that happened after this, but this kind of gives you a synopsis of this is what’s going to happen and it’s though it’s already done. But give me what he said. Verse 18, and there were voices, thunder, lightning, such, and there was a great earthquake such as was not since men were upon the earth so mighty and earthquake and so great. And the great city was divided in the three parts and the cities of the nations fell.
In great Babylon came in and remember before God to give unto her the cup of the wind and the fiercest of his wrath and every island fled away. The mountains were not found and there was fell upon men a great hail out of heaven and stones about the weight of a talent, a hundred, a hundred twenty pound and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail for the plague thereof was exceeding great. This is upon the nation of Israel, over a lot of this is going to take place.
But the nations of the earth and we’ll see more of that as we get to it. They go back here at the sixth chapter of the book of Revelation. So he says, we know this in verse 12, and the sun became black asack cloth of hair and the moon became as blood. See, all this is mentioned. You’ll also see that same scripture mentioned in the book of Joel in chapter 2, found in the book of Acts in chapter 2, when it talks about that which was being poured out upon them, which was the Holy Spirit.
The stars of heaven fell upon the earth, even as a fig tree catches her untimely figs. When he is shaken of a mighty wind, the heavens departed as a scroll when it is rolled together. every mountain and every island moved out of their places. Now, do you want to be here when this happens? Surely you don’t want to be here when this happens. That’s why the most important thing anybody can ever do is to accept the payment Jesus Christ made on the cross corner.
Let me show you something real quick. This is you and me, this is sin. We all have sin on us. God says that He loves us. Now He hates our sin, but He loves us. For us to pay for sin, turn of separation from God in hell. But he loves us and wants us to go to heaven. But to go to heaven, you have to be perfect as righteous as God. And none of us are perfect, none of us are righteous.
We have all sinned and come short of God’s perfection. We have all done things wrong. And God says, you cannot save yourself. That’s why you need a Savior. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord. God in the flesh came into the world because he loves us. hates our sin because it separates us from him. So Christ took the sin, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead. And God said that if you would, if we would believe He did it for us, He’d put this payment to our account, we get to go to heaven, or what He did.
That’s a gift. That’s free. That’s a substitutionary payment of what He was my substitute. He died for my sins, So that I don’t have to die and pay for my sins. So when I accept Him as my Savior, God gives me the free gift, the eternal life, and I’ll go to heaven whenever I die. And He said, He’ll never cast you out and never lose you. Best news in all the world. Let’s pray, shall we? With every head bound, every eye closed, no one looking around.
If you hear this evening and you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, I hope by the understanding of some of these passages of Scripture And about the future of what’s going to take place and things that are going on in the world today It would convince you this book is true This has to be a truly inspired God divine book God has revealed these things to us only God could have done this no man could have done this and If you have never trusted Christ is your Savior because you’ve got questions in doubt friend I would trust the Lord with my questions in doubt Because you can agree on this.
God says you’re a sinner. So am I. You can agree with God on that. You’re not perfect. Neither am I. You can believe that God sent his son to down that cross and pay for your sins. And if you’ll trust him right now, God said he would say to give you eternal life. Would you trust him? Would you believe he died for you? Paid for your sins? That he came back from the dead. And would you trust Him as your only hope of going to heaven?
If you will, I’d like to have prayer for you. I’m not going to have you forward, not going to embarrass you, but right where you’re sitting. So yes, that made sense to me. Tonight I will accept Christ as my Savior and preacher. I’d like you to pray for me. As you and I’ll be fully close, so yes, pray for me. Just leave me in a very quickly and write back down. Then we’ll go. My Father, we thank you so much for the opportunity we have to come together and to study the words.
We pray your blessings upon us. and each person here and those that listen by you never did. In Christ and we pray, Amen.
