Why did he taste death for every man so that he could bring many sons into glory, into perfection, so that you and I could be made perfect, have eternal life and get to go to be with the Lord in heaven. And then he became the author of eternal salvation and made the captain of our salvation perfect through suffering so that we have someone who knows what we have gone through. Christ lived in this world. He knows what rejection is about.
He knows what it’s like to be poor. He knows what it’s like to have people call them a hypocrite, lie about them, slander them. You name it and they accused him of it. And they even said that we know who your mother and father are. I mean, we know about you. We’re not born a fornication like you. He went through all kinds of stuff and he endured all of the shame. For the joy that was set before him. In other words, he knew what this would accomplish and it was worth it all.
He was looking down the road and he looked way down the road 2000 years and lo and behold, there was an 18 year old boy named Yankee Arnold and God said, I’m doing this for that kid. I don’t know about y’all. He probably didn’t even see y’all. Y’all just got in on a friend’s stuff. Just joking. But look what he says now in verse 11. For both he, that sanctifyeth and they who are sanctified are one. this now, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren.
I am a child of God because he hath made me perfect. He has saved me. He justified me. So he’s not ashamed of me in that sense. Now the Bible says that we do not serve him. We can bring shame to him. Now get what else he says here. In verse 12, saying, now this is a quote from the Old Testament. I will declare thy name unto my brother.” Now this is the verses that we read just a moment ago in the 22nd Psalm in verse 22.
I will declare thy name unto my brother in the midst of the in the Old Testament is the congregation. Here it’s church. Will I and what’s that word? Well I sing praises unto thee. Now when you read the Old Testament you might not have seen that and I might not have seen that, but I’m supposed to believe that that he’s going to sing. He’s sung. So I believe that, yes, Jesus Christ did sing, and I have no problems with that.
Because he’s talking about here, and you see it, talking about the praise and talking about the glorifying. So when we praise the Lord, that’s music to his ears. Remember whenever he went into Jerusalem, and they were putting on the palm leaves and so forth in front of them. And they were crying out, you know, Hosanna and so forth, King of the High. And he said, you shouldn’t say that. Jesus says, if you forbid them to speak, he said, these stones can cry out.
So if stones can speak, it might even be possible for an angel to sing. I don’t see no problem with it. It doesn’t bother me one way or the other. But let me just show you this. Look in the book of Luke in chapter two. the book of Luke and chapter 2. Luke chapter 2 is what we had known as the genealogy concerning Jesus Christ and how he was born by Dr. Luke who tells us a little bit more about some of these things than some of the other books do.
But it talks about here an angel appeared. See, they’re in verse 9 and low. The angel of the Lord came upon them. The glory of the Lord shone round about them and they were so afraid. And the angel said unto them, fear you not, for behold I bring you good titans a great joy which I’ll beat you all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Savior which is Christ the Lord. This shall be a sign unto you shall find the baby wrapped in swelling clothes, lying in a manger.
And suddenly, get this. Suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly hosts. Praising God. Now from the Old Testament of Exodus chapter 15, praising God was singing. In Psalms 22, praising God was singing. Is it possible that when you get all these angels all together in unison and they all said verse 14, glory to God in the highest. And on earth peace, good will toward men. Do you think it might be possible that the angels could have sung?
I don’t see no problem with it. I don’t doubt it one bit. I believe that they can talk, they can sing. And I believe God loves music. And I believe God wants everybody to sing. Everything that hath a voice, let them sing. And I believe one day in eternity everybody will be praising the Lord and singing and because of the victory that we have. You see, there was a great problem and God worked a great miracle and Israel came out of Egypt.
the Red Sea kicked up dust on the dry ground as they went across. And then God flooded that place and they were all drowned. And so they sing a victory song. When you talk about Christ and what happened, He says, and I will sing. I believe He’ll sing. And He went out that night and He sung a hymn. Now just one little verse look at look there in the book of Job chapter 38. Job chapter 38. Job chapter 38, the time had come when Job had asked the Lord over and over again.
Lord, answer me. Why am I suffering like this? See Job could not put his finger upon the reason why he was suffering. It had nothing to do with what Job had done. God wanted to see Job how far he had to go. Have you ever reach the place in your life where you think I don’t learn all I need to know now. I mean I have I’ve graduated. I’m as smart as I need to be. I can coast from here on in.
Lord I don’t need any more testing. No more lessons. Just give me an A and let’s just call it even okay. You’re going to be tested for how long? As long as you draw breath in this life. Your schooling is not over. all the lessons have not been learned. God still has a few things that He can teach us. Job wasn’t out of school yet. God was going to teach him some mighty lessons. Of course, in the teaching Him we’re learning from Him.
But He kept saying, I want an appointment with God. I want to talk with Him and get this thing settled because you see His friends, or all telling them, the reason you’re suffering, Joby, is because you’ve got sin in your life. If you would only serve the Lord, then God would bless you. And we know, and everybody knows, the reason you’re having all these problems is because you’re not right with God. He says, that isn’t true. He says, I am right with God.
It’s not because they’re sin in my life. And so he argued with his three friends. Everybody needs a few friends like that. I told you one time I said, those three friends that he had, they got married and had kids, a whole bunch of them around today. Some of them even come to church and in time something happens to you, they know why it happened. It’s because they’re sin in your life. You know, if you were holy and godly, that wouldn’t happen to you.
Everyone would just give him a knuckle sandwich in Christian love, of course. But God says, I’ve got a question for you. The day came when God says, okay, you wanted to meet with me. You wanted to ask me questions. All right, let me ask you some questions. So the 38th chapter is God asking a few questions and buddy can he ask questions. Job didn’t have any answers. Job didn’t even answer any of the questions. what I want you to see is there in verse one, then the Lord answered Job out of the world, went and said, who is this, that darkened of counsel by words without knowledge?
Is it you, Job? You’re always asking the question, don’t you don’t even know what you’re talking about, Job? You got words, but no knowledge. In verse three, good up now the loins like a man, for I will demand of thee and you answered thou me. Where was thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Where were you at when I did all of this? When I created the heavens on the earth, where were you? And he says in verse five, who hath laid the measures thereof if thou knowest?
Verse 7, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy, I believe this is a reference to angels. And whenever God at the very beginning, I believe the angels could sing. So I have no problem with the singing, whether it’s of angels or anything else that wants to sing. Take your Bible and go all the way back now to the book of Revelation. So he says there’s going to be a whole bunch of people and they’re all going to be singing these songs, the songs of victory.
And then he says in verse 4, Who shall not fear the O Lord and glorify thy name? See that word? The glorify? And he’s talking about the glorify the Lord and appraise the Lord. the last part of verse 3, great and marvelous are thy words, Lord God Almighty, talking about what God has done, what God is going to do. So right now God’s fiction done, he’s got the barrels loaded, he’s fixing to pull the trigger. It’s like this Quaker, he got up in the middle of the night and in the lonely hole there was a burger in this house and you know their peacefulness can be, They don’t want to harm anybody.
But he aimed his gun at him and he says, I mean if they know harm, but they’ll stand right where I’m about to shoot. God says, no, I mean you know harm, but I’m fixing to unload both barrels and but he does. But you and I know on the other side of the battle, there’s going to be this victory. You see, a lot of Christians, they want to wear the medals as though they’ve been a great soldier. but they don’t want to fight any battles.
The Bible tells us in 2nd Timothy says that you and I are supposed to be good soldiers, that we may please him, that has called us to be a soldier. So that means not to be entangled with the affairs of this life. And as things happen to us in life, you’ve got to have the battles if you want to have the medals. And sometimes we want them without the battle. You want to make a six foot splash in the six inch mud puddle, it will not work that way.
So God has blessed us in this life with all the battles you can handle. Aren’t you glad? All these battles are nothing more than opportunities. It’s all they are. Every problem you have is an opportunity for you to be faithful to the Lord and have a victory and get rewarded for it. And the reward that God’s going to give you is going to be an everlasting reward. That’s why he says in this word, the sufferings of this present time because of all the battle you’ve got to face are not worthy to be compared with the glory that you’re going to have.
So you’re not supposed to know this, we’re supposed to believe this, supposed to change the way we live. So go there to chapter 15. And he says in verse 5, and after that, I look and behold the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was open. Seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothing, pure and white linen, having their breast girded with a golden girdle, and one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels, seven golden biles, full of the wrath of God.
Where has the wrath of God gonna line that if in verse one on the wrath of God over in chapter 14 in verse 10 The wrath of God. It’s see the wrath of God. That’s the tribulation here. This is what it’s about and God’s gonna pour out his wrath upon the earth Haven’t you seen all the wickedness? It goes on as you watch the news and you wonder Lord how long before you get mad Why don’t you do something God?
God? Well, be patient. He will when he’s ready. And it’s going to be in his timing. You and I can’t force God. God’s going to do what He wants to do when He wants to do it. And he says, and there’s this temple. See there in verse 8, the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God. Where was this temple here? Well, I believe this is a temple that the salt in heaven. It’s also mentioned in verse 7 and the seven angels came out of the temple.
Well, this is in heaven. You see, the pattern I call upon the earth that God gave to Moses and gave them the dimensions of it and how to build it. Well, it’s a pattern of one that’s in heaven. Take your Bible and turn to the book of Hebrews in chapter 9. Hebrews in chapter 9 and see that real quick. Once you see it, you’ll remember it all the days of your life. Hebrews and chapter 9. And look there in verse 23.
Verse 23. It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves would better sacrifices than these. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figure of the true, but into heaven itself. So there is a temple in heaven. There is the tabernacle there and there is the, as the Baba called, the Ark of the Covenant. The one on the earth was only made after the pattern, the one that Moses saw in heaven.
And so the temple that was built, Solomon’s temple was after the one that they saw. And when you get to the book of Ezekiel, Ezekiel is building and describing and measuring the tabernacle or the temple that’s going to be the millennial temple. The one that’s going to be built when David is here and Christ is here. That’s a whole different set of blueprints for a new one that’s going to be made. Did you realize the land that God granted to the nation of Israel?
It’s the the good sized chunk of land goes all the way from the Nile River, all the way over to the Euphrates River, all the way over to Babylon, all of Jordan and Syria, all that. That’s Israel’s land. Now I’m not making it up. I’ve read the book and God has told what he’s going to do. Now that’s a pretty good chunk, but the time has come in when all this is going to all fit together. Now God says that the bowls are full.
He’s fixing the Lord of the boom. Look there in Revelation chapter 16. Verse 1, and I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angel, go your ways, pour out the bowls of judgment, the wrath of God upon the earth. So now they’re going to do it. They’ve talked about it. Now it’s going to be fulfilled. And remember this is God’s judgment not upon just man alone, not just upon the nation of Israel, not just upon the seat of this last world government and those nations, it’s also upon the earth itself.
There’s judgment concerning the sun and the moon, the stars. I mean it’s everything. The trees, the green grass, the fish, everything. If on the earth judgment. And God is going to judge everything upon the earth. You see there in verse 2, the first one went, poured out his vial upon the earth. Telling of noisim and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast and upon them which worship his image. This is a mark that goes upon all the unbelievers.
See, God protects his believers and these are those that are the unbelievers. So God knows who believes and who does not believe, but this is going to be a judgment poured out upon the unbelievers upon the earth because they would not believe the truth and that’s why they believed the lie. Now look what he says in verse 3, and the second angel poured out his val upon in here’s the sea. So ones upon the land, well the people are, one is upon the sea and it became as the blood of a dead man and every living thing in the sea died.
Now how would you like to live upon the earth when everything in the water is dead and it looks like blood? Now I don’t know how God’s going to do all this, I really don’t care but I believe He will. I believe that there could be a nuclear war upon the earth in which they will cause such mushroom clouds that could darken to where the sun cannot shine up on the earth. It can create such heat. And as you read in the book of Zechariah in chapter 14 verse 12, it says, And this shall be the play where would God will smite all those nations that came against Israel.
And while they stand upon their feet, their eyes consume away out of their holes and their flesh off of their bones. And you can figure out for yourself. But why would it say all the green grass was burnt? What kind of a the battle of the way ever fought, the green grass, and the trees all burn up. Anyway, see, whenever you read the scriptures, you believe you can just sit there and close your eyes and try to picture, try to imagine what’s going on.
And some of them can scare you to death. Don’t do it too long. Look where in verse 4, and the third angel poured out his valop on the rivers. And the fountains of water, and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the water say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art was and shall be because thou have judged us. In other words, everybody’s always wondering, When’s God going to have enough and he’s going to judge the world?
Well, that day is coming and God’s going to judge this earth. And he’s these angels are pouring out now. The thing is the people upon the earth, they don’t see angels. All they see in these consequences of fame and it’s just a natural disaster. Just like things that happen in the world today, people don’t associate anything with the Lord. All they know is that these things are happening. And you know there’s a lot of weird things happening in the soul world.
But look at verse 6, For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou have given them blood to drink, for they are worthy. In other words, they’re getting what they deserve. Because they shed the blood of God’s people. As he says right there, the saints in the prophet, see, they’re going to die. The multitude of God’s people, the believers are going to die, and God’s going to pour out His judgment on the unbelievers. Look in verse 8.
And the fourth angel poured out his val upon the sun. Power was given unto him to scorch men with fire. And when you read in Isaiah where it says, in the earth shall rock to and fro like a drunk man upon his axis. So maybe with these nuclear warheads that they’ve got and who knows what it’s going to do to this earth. Remember, this isn’t something that takes place over a hundred and hundred of years. This takes place in just a few short hours, a few short hours, not long periods of time.
As it says concerning those beasts in the book of Revelation chapter 17, for in one hour, In chapter 18 talking about the Babylon, that city, in one hour she is destroyed. And it says in the nations of the earth when they saw that Babylon is destroyed and the smoke’s sending up and all that, and they wondered after the beast how it could happen so fast. And the scripture talks about onto my people that get out of her. And this is when I believe in the book of Matthew 24 and verse 15 when it says, when thou shalt see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet, sent in the whole place, then let them which be in Judea flee into the mountains.
That’s when they’re supposed to flee into the mountains. They get out of her because judgment is coming upon the nation. God has told us all the things it’s going to take place. It’s going to happen just like He said. Believe it very quickly. Remember in the midst of all of this, the purpose behind it is so that these unbelievers would still believe to correct it, to see why God is doing what He’s doing. But instead of realizing this and repenting, changing their mind, reconsidering, thinking differently, they don’t.
So He says here in verse 9, men were scorched with great heat, blasphemed the name of God, which had power over these plagues, and they repented not to give Him glory. They still would not do it. And in verse 10, and the fifth angel poured out his val upon the seat of the beast. All right, this is where I believe his palace is set in the midst of the seas. As is mentioned in the book of Daniel in chapter 11, but where you’re talking about, he sets up his seat of authority and rules from Jerusalem and the temple.
And I believe it’s destroyed and God’s going to prod his judgment upon him. And he says, and his kingdom was full of darkness and they gnawed their tongues for pain. Now I’ve never been in a nuclear war. I’ve seen pictures of when they dropped the bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I’ve seen all of that. And I’ve seen where there were over 200,000 people in just one place totally destroyed. It could be a wicked thing. But the Bible does describe this.
Read the 2nd Peter in chapter 3 and it’s enough to scare you about what God says. He’s just reserving this earth to be destroyed by fire the next time. And in verse 11, and blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their source and repented not of their deeds. They still would not wake up and realize God is judging. And there’s people the day they can go through all these things that happen and it doesn’t make them wake up.
It doesn’t help them to see, to understand that, you know, I’m gonna die soon. I need to get right with God. You wonder what could happen in this nation to wake people up, to bring them to the Lord. What do they need? What will work? Well, the tribulation period doesn’t seem to work too good. Now, there’s going to be a lot of people that will trust the Lord, but there’s a lot of people that will not. So he says there in verse 12, and the sixth angel poured out his valop on the Great River Euphrates, and the water thereof was dried up that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.
And the reason is because they’re headed to a place in verse 16 called Armageddon. Now, this is what is going to take place, but we’ve already seen there’s going to be a great victory for the Lord. God’s going to win, but He’s going to prod His judgment upon this earth. But looking beyond it, you can picture all of the things and see not there on that sea of glass, a new temple, and the people singing victory songs. So that’s where we’re headed.
I think it’s great. Look up here. This is you and me. This is sin. The Bible says we’ve all sinned, but God loves us. And to pay for that sin is eternal separation from the Lord in a place called hell, but God doesn’t want us to go to hell. He wants us to go to heaven. To go to heaven you have to be perfect as righteous as God. Nobody’s perfect. We’re all sinned. We’re all sinned. And God says you cannot save yourself, so your good works cannot get you to heaven.
Nobody goes to heaven because they live good enough to get there. Everybody who gets to heaven is only by the grace of God. And that means this. It means that God had to give it to you, and it’s free, because you can’t earn it. This end represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. He came into the world because He loves us. Hates our sin because our sin separates us from Him. So Christ took the sin, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead, and said, if we believe He did it for us, it put that payment on account and we get to go to heaven.
Oh, what Jesus Christ did for us. I’ve trusted Christ as my Savior, and I’m going to heaven. Sure hope you are. If you want to see me in heaven, you don’t have to do what I did to get there. You’re going to have to trust Christ’s Savior. Now, isn’t that enough to cause you don’t want to trust the Lord? I mean, if hell don’t motivate you, missing me ought to do it. You know I’m joking with you. So you know you’re not.
Yes, I am. But eternal life is a gift. It’s free. God loves us so much. And isn’t it wonderful to know that not only do you have eternal life, We know how everything is going to end, and we’re going to be victorious. Let’s pray, Shavim. My Father, we do thank you so much for the opportunity you’ve given us as your children to come together and study your Word. And we’re thankful for the study in the book of Revelation. And Lord, we don’t claim to be able to understand everything it says.
And Lord, there’s a lot that we maybe can’t put together, but there’s enough there for us to chew on. And we want to understand as much as we can so that we can be as faithful and to challenge other people to study a word and to be found faithful. Help us to not be forgetful to share the gospel with as many people as we can regardless of what they believe in or that we might reach them because you died for them also.
And Father, we just want your protection upon us as a church. That was the do right in Christ and then we pray. Amen.
