I want to talk on the book of Revelation because that’s where we are and that’s where we’re going to teach. So take your Bible and turn to the book of Revelation, the book of Revelation. There’s interesting things in the book of Revelation. You know it’s the last book in the Bible. If you read the first book in the Bible, it talks about how God created everything and then it got worse and worse and worse. It was downhill after that, all because of sin.

And that’s what brought in all the devastation that’s happened ever since. And because of sin, there’s death. And we’ve got disease and all the things that produces death. And so the things in the world, God cursed the whole earth. So when He cursed the earth, that means that we’re going to have to put up with things like hurricanes and tornadoes and tsunamis and nerve quakes and all the things that are going on around the world, all because of sin.

You see, well, why is it all happening because of sin? If there was no sin, we wouldn’t have none of that. We’d still be in that perfect environment in the Garden of Eden, eating strawberries. But no, we messed up. And so because of that, everything fell apart. But in the book of Revelation, everything coming together. Like I said before, the Old Testament prophecies, all like little streams coming down out of amount and they start forming into a mighty current.

As you get to the book of Revelation, all prophecies being fulfilled just like God said it would. And now in the book of Revelation, we have it to where there’s not going to be any of those things anymore. And God’s going to solve everything. So look there in Revelation in chapter 21. Revelation 21. I want to read this to you and then I want to backtrack a little bit. But Revelation chapter 21, he says, and in verse 1, I saw a new heaven and a new earth.

For the first heaven, the first earth was passed away and there’s no more sea. So you see God in the first book in the Bible tells about the end of beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And because of that then sin and God put a curse upon the earth, upon the fruit of the ground, everything that happens upon mankind, the man, the woman, the devil, the serpent. Everything has been cursed. That’s why even whenever we eat our food, we ask the Lord to bless this food because it’s been cursed.

And because of the curse, we all die. And so God says when He makes a new heaven and a new earth, there won’t be a curse upon the new heavens and new earth. For example, if we had not had Adam and Eve sin, then they would still be alive today. But there would be a lot of things they wouldn’t know about God. And if they had the possibility of sinning, which they did, see God made them with the capacity to sin.

God didn’t make them a sinner, but they had the capacity to do so. they had a free will they could choose. What would be the difference in you and I today if we were still like that, every one of us would still have the possibilities of messing up just like Adam and Eve did, because you would still be able to sin. Well that would be no fun. So sooner or later everybody’s going to mess up. Because we have in us the possibilities of yielding to the old temptations of the devil.

It’s like having a glass there and it’s empty. But it has the capacity to hold water. Along comes the devil and says, you want some water? Yeah, you got it. And so God did not make us sinners or create us sinners. But God permitted us to choose whether to be like we were or choose to rebel. And so mankind has chosen to be sinner. That’s why we often say you’re sinner’s by nature and you’re sinner’s by choice. We chose to sin.

And even today when you know what to do that’s right, we still choose to sin. We still choose to be rebellious. But in the end time God says, I’ll make a new heaven and a new earth and then look what he says. In verse 2, and I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. Now later on, after verse 9, he joined and described this holy city that has gates of pearls and walls of Jasper and streets of gold and all those wonderful things.

always hear Bob 1500 miles high 1500 miles wide 1500 miles long a beautiful city coming down from God out of heaven. Well he says that they will be able to see it come and see their inverse too coming down from God out of heaven. So this is where it’s coming from. It’s not something that’s already here on the earth and he prepared us a bride adorned for her husband. In other words the The holy city looks like a bride, adorn for her husband.

This is where the bride, that’s you and I, this is where we’re going to live. We’re really going to be treated right. And then he says in verse 3, and I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men. He will dwell with them, they shall be his people, God himself shall be with them and be their God. And verse 4 shows you that there’s no more curse. There’s no more curse upon mankind.

You see, the difference between being a creation of God was that Adam and Eve had the capacity to sin. But whenever you are born into God’s family and as a child of God, because God is your father, he cannot sin. He has no sinful nature. He doesn’t have the capacity to sin. You and I, when we trust the Lord, now are different. We are children of God and we won’t be able to sin. But see, as long as we had stayed like Adam and Eve, we all had that possibility of failing down the road.

But being a child of God, you cannot today or in the future ever sin. That’s the new birth. How many do I have? Two. So whenever I sin, which one did it? my first birth, when I was born with the first time. When I was born in the God’s family, my second birth, it does not sin, cannot sin. That’s why it lives forever. And so that’s why it says the former things will be remembered no more because that’s the first birth that will be done away with.

So look there in verse 4, and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. There shall be no more death. Why? Because there’ll be no more sin. If it was possible for man to sin in the future after we get to heaven, then there would be death. But when he says there will be no more death, that means there will be no more sin. It will be totally impossible for a child of God in the future, in eternity, to ever sin.

So we never have to worry about that again. Because if there was sin, there will be death. And If there was death, there’ll be sorrow. And none of that will exist in the new heaven and the new earth. So he says there’ll be no more death, no sorrow, nor crying. Neither shall there be any more pain for the former things are passed away. So in the meantime, from Genesis to Revelation, everything in between, there’s all of those things. And whenever you hear about what’s going on around the world with hurricanes and tsunamis and nerve quakes all these things?”

You say, well, if God is in control and God is all powerful, then and God really cares for us. What does God let things like that happen? Well, because of sin. There has to be the natural consequences of sin. It’s like jumping off the Empire State building. So far so good. But you know you have an appointment with the country and it’s only a matter of time. You may enjoy the ride, but you know how it’s going to end up.

And so there’s people who naturally rebel against God, and so there’s consequences to live it in this world. We live in a wicked, sinful world, and because of sin there’s consequences, and we’re all going to does it matter really how we die? Not so much. It’s just where are you going when you die? Because we might say, look how terrible it is for all those people to die in a nerve quake or into a tsunami. Well, it’s also terrible for a person who lay in a hospital in the die.

A person that get killed in the car wreck. So that doesn’t mean that’s, look how wicked and bad that really is. No, there’s just as many people dying every day from what ever causes, but we’re all going to die. And would some people, Well, that was mercy because it was over like this. Some people, they are in pain and sorrow and they linger on for months and sometimes years and they suffer and they hurt. What God says there’s a time coming, there’ll be no more pain.

I want you to look in verse 8. Verse 8, but those who do not get to go into this new heavens and new earth, where will they go? Well, because, see, that’s where some are going to be, no more pain. That’s important. We’ll look down in verse 8, but the fearful, the unbelieving, that means they’re still around. They’re not annihilated, and they have not believed, and they’re not going to enjoy this. So he says, and the abominable, murders, hormones, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

burneth with fire. Why would God allow these people to burn with fire? Because the purpose of the fire is to inflict pain. There is no other reason for it. It’s to inflict pain. But for those in the new heavens and the new earth, there will be no more pain. So some will have no pain and some will have pain. For all eternity, we will not have it, and for all eternity, some will have it.” Now, God’s the one that writes the book.

All I try to do is just teach and explain what it says. I don’t try to twist anything or put a spin on it. I just want to say, this is what it says. Now, the second death is those who have already died once and stood before the Great White Throne judgment and then their judged again and then eternally separated the second time. First time was separation from their body, the second time when they’re separated from God forever. So those who know Christ is Savior will never be hurt of the second death.

Now I want you to take your Bible and look very quickly in the book of 1 John in chapter 5. 1 John chapter 5. First John and chapter 5 and look there in verse 4. Now this is a very important verse, two verses, verse 4 and verse 5. Remember you and I were condemned because we failed the test. You see there was a test. God gave a standard of righteousness required perfection. We all failed. The devil tempted us, we fail there.

And there’s trials and so forth in life and we fail there. In other words, we are total failures. We haven’t done everything we’re supposed to do. So we are totally defeated. We didn’t win at all against the devil, against the sin, against the world, the lust of the flesh. We lost. But Jesus was born and he lived, he fulfilled the righteous demands of the law, so he was victorious. The devil tried to tempt him and couldn’t succeed. So Jesus was victorious.

So whenever I understand that what He did was for me. His victory is put to my account as though I did it. I’m a total failure. He is a total victor. And He puts His victory to my account. And He overcame sin, the death, the grave. He overcame everything and was victorious. So when I trust Him as my Savior, His success, His victory is put to my account as though I did it. But I really didn’t do it. But look what He says here in verse 4, for whosoever or whatsoever is born of God over come of the world.

This is the victory that over come of the world, our faith. In other words, not because I really lived it and I really did it, it’s because I trusted in the one who did. And that is put to my account as though I did. When Christ died on that cross and paid for all the sins of the world, it was like I died and paid for all of my sins, but I really didn’t do it. I didn’t pay for anything.

Do I deserve to go to heaven? No, I don’t deserve to go to heaven. Am I going to go to heaven? Yes, I’m going to go to heaven. All because of what he did. Now, look in verse 5. Who is he that overcometh the world? But he that keeps the tank of mammoths and obey the gold and rule goes to church and changes his life and does right, no, no, no. Who’s he that overcometh the world? He that believeth.

That Jesus is the Son of God. When you believe he is who he claims to be and you trust him as your Savior. So how do you know you got to do that? Well, look at the rest of the verse, look in verse 10, where he says, He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself. He that believeth not God hath made him a liar because he believeth not the record that God gave of his son.

This is the record that God hath given, not going to have given past tense to us. eternal life. And this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son, hath life, he that hath not the Son of God, hath not life. So he says, these things have a written unto you that believe that you may know that you have eternal life. So this is written to believers, those who trust Christ is Savior that you can know that you have have eternal life.

And I am an overcomer. There’s nothing to keep me from going to heaven because I was victorious in every trial, tribulation, testing, the devil. You name it because Christ was. I overcame because I am in Him that overcame. So His victory is put to our account. You are and overcomer, not because of how good you are because you personally had victory in your Christian life. Now, there is a place for God’s going to reward you when you get to heaven with certain things because after you trust Christ’s Savior, there’s trials and tests and so forth and you have to personally have victory in your Christian life.

And that’s because you allow the Lord to live through you. But see that’s after salvation. Getting saved is because of what Christ did. And after you’re saved is what Christ does through you. Now just take your Bible look in Revelation in chapter 2 and you’ll notice that many of these same things are true of those who simply trust Christ as their Savior. You are an overcomer. look there in Revelation chapter two and looking verse seven or seven. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Now the churches is those who are believers, we’re talking about believers in their church. To him that overcometh, see that verse? Him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life which is in the midst of the paradise of God. Now is he talking here about the Christian who overcame by his works or simply at the end of each one of letting you know that regardless of how God chastens you or disciplines you or turns out the light out of that church or whatever happens, once you trust the Christ is your Savior you are an overcomer because of his victory put to your account and you will get the eat of the tree of life which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Or look there in chapter, same chapter, but look in verse 11, he that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit says unto the church of he that overcoming shall not be hurt of the second death. Well the only ones who can be hurt of the second death are unbelievers. So no believer can be hurt of the second death because everyone who is an unbeliever they will experience that second death. Hold your place right there and look here again in Revelation in chapter 21 and it says in the last part of verse 8 which is the second death.

What’s the second death? Those that go into the lake of fire that burns with fire and brimstone. That’s those who will suffer the second death. But the believer can’t go to hell. He can’t suffer that because he has overcome simply by trusting Christ as his Savior. But see, if you don’t keep salvation separate from service, then multitudes of preachers are always taking all the verses. It seems to say and make an implied to a person that’s well, you got to earn it.

See there? It says right there, you got to earn it. You got to be an overcomer. If you don’t overcome, then you’re not going to make it. Always keep salvation free. Service is your works. So you always try to understand the Complex verses by the simple verses. For example, look there in Revelation in chapter 2. But look down here in verse 26. He that overcometh, keep of my works unto the end to the hymn, will I give power over the nation.

Now this is to rule and reign with him. So it’s not only to the believer, but it’s to the believer and his service. So it’s not only that I’m a believer, but I also, I did something, something and I get rewarded for that. And you’ll notice there in chapter 3 and look there in verse 5, look in verse 5, he that overcometh the same shall be clothed in white rain and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my father and before his angels.

So it looks like, okay, so if he says he will not blot my name out of the book of life, it looks like there’s a possibility. He could block my name out of the book of life. Take your Bible and look there in the book of Revelation in chapter 20. I want you to look there now in verse 12. Revelation chapter 20 verse 12, and I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God. And the books were open and another book was open, which is the book of life.

And the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to the works. So there’s the books and there’s the book of life. And the dead were judged out of the books, not the book of life, the books. And then in verse 15, and whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. So there’s those who have their names in the books and their works are in the books.

But there’s another book called the book of life. Now you’ve heard me say this before. In the book of Genesis, which is the first book in the Bible, and chapter 5 and verse 1 where it says, and this is the book of the generation of Adam in the day that God created Adam. And it says Adam lived so long and he died. And then the evil of so long and he died. Analytically lived so long and they died. But regardless of how long they lived, they all died.

Because you see, that’s the book of the living. Everybody born into the world, it’s like your name’s in the book of the living, but you can also die. But your name is in the book of the living. And everything you said thought did, God says every idle word is all recorded because God says he’s going to bring everything back. And so the people who reject Christ as Savior, when they stand into great white throne judgment, they’re going to be judged out of the book according to their works.

See what it says there in verse 13 and the sea and gave up the dead which were in it. Death, that’s the body. Hell, that’s the soul. So, for example, if you were to die right now, your body would be here, but you’re not there. If you’re a believer absent from the body, present with the Lord. But if you’re an unbeliever absent from the body, present in hell, that’s a temporary hell, a place called Shiel, the Old Testament, Hades in the the New Testament, but it’s the place of the departed dead.

So that means that that’s where a person will go, and their soul is in hell. Now that’s only a temporary hell. Nobody right now sees is in the final hell, which is called Gahanna, the final lake of fire. So if a lost man dies, body goes through the grave, soul goes into the place of torment. At the great white throne judgment, death, the bodies, and held the soul are going to stand at the great white throne judgment and be judged out of the books according to their works.

So these are already lost people. These not saved people to see which way they go. These are already going to the same place, which is the place called Jahana, the final fire. But they’re judged out of their work. This determines not only the justness of God that he has a right to cast them into hell but determines the punishment they receive in hell which there being judged according to the light that they have received. See God knows what every person knows the possibilities, the limitations.

God knows everything, every fact, in every case concerning every individual and God. Will be justified whatever he does and God will prove that. So I guess you could say God has a video camera and he’s videoing you everything. Even your thoughts, your motives. So that whenever God judges that lost man at the Great Whad Throne judgment, God will be just. God has to do right. He has to be fair. show you what he’s doing. And he says that God is not a respecter of persons.

I believe his word is true. But you see the last part of verse 13, death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them. So these are people who were in hell, now are standing at the Grey White Throne judgment and they were judged every man according to their works. You see, The saved man isn’t judged according to his works, because his works has nothing to do with where he goes to heaven or hell. A saved man is going to heaven because of the work of Christ, not his.

His sins have been forgiven. They’re not to be brought up anymore. But the lost man who refused has got to answer. And I believe we’ll be there at this judgment. I believe everything and everybody and every angel. Because the Bible says shall not even the saint judge the angels. And how and what way? I don’t know. That’s in 1 Corinthians chapter 6, but I believe the Word of God is true. And so God says it, I believe it. And it says, every man according to their worth, and get verse 14 of, and death and hell were cast into the every one of those that came from there are cast into the lake of fire.

Get this. This is the what? Second death. Same as you find over there in verse 8. The second death. These are those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. Now those who have, God says they’ll never sin again. There’ll be no more death, no more pain. But what about the people who don’t trust the Lord? The Bible says there, and if you look there in verse 10 of chapter 20, and the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and Brenstone were the beast and the false prophet arm and and shall be tormented day and night for how long?

Ever and ever night. That means what it says or it doesn’t mean what it says.
