We pray that you will enjoy our commitment to the clear gospel of Jesus Christ and that today’s concluding message of this teaching will be a blessing to you and your family. In verse 5, but when the king heard thereof he was robbed and he said forth his armies destroyed those murders, burned up their cities. Then said he to his servants, the wedding is ready, but they which were biden were not worthy. They wouldn’t come. Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find bid to the marriage.

So those servants went out into the highways and gathered together all as many as they found, but bad and good. And the servants, or the wedding, was furnished with guest. When the king came in to see the guest he saw there, a man which had not on a wedding garment. And he said unto him, friend, how came Stauh in hither not wearing a wedding garment? And he was speechless. All right, now let me just kind of take this is a story now.

It’s a story. It says so right there. And he says that it was a parable. So not everything in here is something that you can say. This means this means this means this means this means this. No, it’s a story to illustrate a truth. So the point is to understand that Christ has his people out and we sow seed, the seed of the Word of God. And we tell them that Jesus is coming or you’re going to die and where are you going to spend eternity?

So we want people to trust the Lord so we sow the seed. Well, we know there’s a time coming when Christ is going to come, take us out of here. And sooner or later everybody’s going to die. But there’s going to be a wedding. You see, when we get to heaven, God says that we’re going to be dressed in the righteous acts of the saints. It means that you’re going to be rewarded for what you’ve done for the Lord.

And so I may have a little beady crown and James may have a great big crown and Al may have a star in his crown and Roger may have a whole bunch of stars in his crown. So you never know who’s going to get what because it’s between you and the Lord. The Lord knows all of his children and what you’ve done. He keeps the books. Remember, getting to heaven, that’s free. You don’t serve the Lord to go go to heaven.

That’s a gift. Once you trust Christ to say, down your God’s chalet. Now there should be reasons or motives of why should I live right? Because my heavenly Father said He would bless my life here. Reward me there. So we’re going to get rewarded. And then we’re going to go to the, the marriage supper of the Lamb. There’s going to be a wedding. And everybody that goes to the wedding has to have on the right wedding dress. Well, the robe is according to Isaiah 61.

It’s the robe of righteousness. Everybody must be dressed in the robe of righteousness, or you can’t get in. It’s improper. Remember, there’s a story in the Bible about somebody who stands at the door and not. And they said, Lord, Lord, have we not preached in your name? Cast out devils in your name? Done many wonderful works in your name and all that. And he says, I’m sorry, I don’t even know who you are. Depart from me, you eat that work iniquity.

Why couldn’t they come in? They didn’t have on the right robe. And the robe is the robe of righteousness that God gives to everyone. See, I can’t go to heaven because I’m a sinner. I’m a filthy sinner. I don’t deserve to go to heaven. But Christ died for my sins and he said, if I would believe he did it for I mean, he would give me his robe of righteousness. Now, if he gave me his robe of righteousness, I got the proper attire to get into heaven.

I’m going in on his righteousness. No man gets to heaven because of his goodness. Do you have to go to church to go to heaven? No. Do you have to give money to go to heaven? No. All we have to do is accept the payment Christ made for us, and he gives us as a free gift ever lasting life. Now, look what he says there in verse 12. And he said unto him, friend, how came a star in here that not having a wedding garment?

And he was speechless. You ought to underline that word speechless. Like, what can the man say? Let’s say, for example, all the people who reject Christ, and they stand at the great white-thrown judgment. And God says, you must be perfect to go to heaven. What man is going to be able to stand up and say, I qualify, I’m perfect. They will be speechless. There’s not a word they can say in their defense. They have no evidence to prove they have earned the right to get into heaven, none whatsoever.

And so he says in verse 13, then said the king to the servant, bind him hand and foot, take him away, cast him into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and and nation of teeth, the same phrase that you find it all over again. And I believe that the wedding takes place right before the kingdom upon the earth. Now, whether he has it here, whether he comes down here and he has it, I really don’t care. I just know there’s going to be one and I’m it.

I’m going to be the bride. Next time I get married, I’ll be the bride. Now, take your Bible and turn to the book of Matthew 24. Matthew chapter 24. 4. Now in Matthew 24, he is talking to them about the time that he’s going to come back to the earth. He is going to come back. He came the first time just like he said. So we have a record of it. Prophecy was written in advance so that we know Christ came just like he said he would.

So we don’t have to ever doubt that. He was literally really here. more history that Jesus Christ was here and evidence that Christ was here probably than Hitler. But here in Matthew in chapter 24, I want you to see down here in verse 51, and shall cut him his asunder and appoint him his portion with the hypocrite, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. You find that phrase mentioned again. But if you go back and you read it and you’re trying to figure out now what is he really talking about?

I don’t believe that it’s necessarily referring to a believer who is unfaithful servant. And because he was just unfaithful, this is what happens, he gets to go to hell. Or a Christian is going to be punished for a thousand years for not serving the Lord. That’s like having to pay for your sins. That’s been punished for your sins. I just can’t see that. Don’t believe that’s that’s what it means. But look what he says up here, he said, I’m coming back in verse 5, 43, but know this, that if the good man of the house had known and what watched the thief would come, he would not have suffered his house and so forth to be broken up.

Therefore, it be also ready for in such an hour as you think not the son of man coming. So it’s not telling us exactly when all this is going to take place, just be ready. What’s the point? Be ready. And we have been seeking to be ready at any given time. But this is mainly to the nation of Israel during the tribulation period. And they should know that with all the things in science that God gives, they should be able to figure it out.

Because he says, when you shall see these things, all these things, they know that it is at the doors and they will see the Antichrist hidden in the holy place. And they’re going to see all the things that are happening in the last three and a half years of the tribulation period. So when they see all of these things, that generation shall not pass away until all these things be fulfilled. They will see it, they will know, they will have an understanding.

But if they’re looking, but most people are not looking, they are not prepared. So this is not talking here about the rapture. This is talking about when Christ comes to the earth upon the earth. And He says here in verse 46, He said, Blessed is that servant whom his Lord, when he comes, shall find so doing. I send you that he shall make him ruler over all its goods. But this is talking about an illustration of a man who has servants.

He’s got obedience servants and he’s got a faithful servant. So obedient and disobedient. And so those that are obedient, he’s going to bless them and those the elements are not going to be a punishment for them. But look what he says in verse 48. But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, my Lord did layeth his coming. And shall begin to smite the fellow servants and to eat in the drink with the drunken, the Lord of that servant.

She’ll come in a day when he look if not for him and in an hour that he is not aware of and she’ll cut him a sunder and appoint him with his portion with the hypocrites and there shall be weeping and national teeth. I believe that when Christ comes back there’s going to be people that are ready and there’ll be people that are not ready. When he comes back at the end of the tribulation period the Bible talks about a judgment of the nations.

The judgment of the nations is when He sets up a judgment and those believers from various nations will go into the kingdom and those that are not will not go into the kingdom. So there’s a lot of judgment going on. And so here in Matthew chapter 25 now, look at Matthew chapter 25, it talks about the faithful ones and it talks about the unfaithful ones but what’s the purpose of the faithful and the unfaithful. The point of all of it is you don’t know when, be ready, be looking, be prepared, be ready to go.

You see, a lot of people, and nobody loves profit, I don’t think more than I do. But I cannot get hung up on exactly trying to figure out the day of the hour. I wouldn’t mind knowing, but it should not change one I order the way I live. I should keep doing exactly what I’m doing because if he came today I should have been doing what I was supposed to be doing today. And if I know that he’s not going to come back for one more week then I should still be doing what I’m supposed to be doing for this week.

And if he comes praise the Lord I did what I should have. And if he didn’t come praise the Lord I still did what I should. So knowing the exact day has no interest to me whatsoever. It should not affect how I live. Though I have within me they desire I want to know this and I want to know that but the reason is well why do I want to know? What difference is it going to make? Is he gonna change how I live?

And if I could convince the world, well wait a minute, didn’t they have all the facts of when he was supposed to come the first time? What value was it? To most people, they could care less. And the world is the same way today, they don’t care. I know this, whatever it does, it should challenge and motivate me to be a better soul winner, to utilize my time as wisely as I possibly can, to try to get as much accomplished as I can.

It still should be that I want the purpose of all of that, and that’s to reach more people for the Lord. So that’s why we wanna do what we can as long as we can. Now, here in Matthew chapter 25, I just want you to look there in verse 26, and it says, his Lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, Thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gathers where I had not strong, Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money into the exchangers, and then my coming, I could have at least have some interest off of my money.

So we’re not talking about, this is really the Lord, and this is really, now this is a story, a story about somebody who had somebody working for him. A story about somebody that was faithful and somebody that was not faithful. And even the person that didn’t use that talent that God had given to him or that the here, the Lord had given to him the servant. And he didn’t even invest it, he just hid it. Talking about a faithful and unfaithful.

Ready or not ready? You see there looking Matthew 25 and looking verse 13. Watch therefore. What’s the purpose of the 10 Virgin? Watch therefore. Why? For ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of Mancometh. You do not know. And this is talking about when Christ comes back, power, great glory at the end of the tribulation period. You do not know. But of course we all would like to know that it says, you don’t. Now, whether or not there’s been enough information given toward the end time when Daniel’s, you know, luck of that book and the keys are open and we can understand things that Daniel couldn’t understand.

I don’t know how much goes into it, but I still read and I’ll still study because I have a curious mind and you know, I wanna know all these things. But look what he says here in Matthew. When he makes a statement down here, in verse 30, and cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness that shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth in verse 31, when the Son of man shall come in his glory. So this is, I believe, talking about when the Son of man comes in power and great glory.

This is not when Christ comes in the rapture. This is talking about when Christ comes in power and great glory to the earth. Now take your Bible and look there in the book of Luke chapter 13. Your Matthew, Mark, Luke, chapter 13. Interesting portion of scripture mentioned here that I thought it was interesting anyway, but look there in Luke in chapter 13 Looking verse 28 There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. When ye shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God and you yourselves thrust out.”

So this phrase weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth, I wonder if it’s all referring to maybe pretty close to the same thing. It looks like it could be. But whenever you read this, does it look like this? We’ve been in Weyland and National Teeth is to the unbeliever or to the believer. I think myself personally, I think it’s talking about the unbeliever. And he makes the statement that kind of seals all this up for me. Oh look there in verse 23.

See, this is in verse 28 because of the question that was asked in verse 23. Verse 23 says, then said one unto him, Lord, are there a few that be saved? And he said unto them. So now he’s going to answer a question. Are there a few going to be saved? Think of how many people there are in the world. And he says, few, there are that find the way to eternal life. Few. In other words, what Christ says is that more people will go to hell than will go to heaven.

Now I didn’t say that. I’ll just tell you what the book says, but I’ll show you that in a minute. So he makes the statement in verse 21, strive to enter in at the straight gate for many, I say, unto you. He says, we’ll seek to enter in and shall not be able. Many will want to, but can’t. They will not be able. He says, who won’t be able? Anyone who is trying to save themselves by their works will not be able to get in, because God says it’s not by works of righteousness.

So look how many people are thinking they’re going to go to heaven because of how good they are. They think they’re being religious is going to get them into heaven. And God says it will not work. But many, the Lord’s wouldn’t say it. You see he’s the one that tells us about heaven. He tells us about hell and he’s the one that tells us how to get there. So we ought to listen to what he has to say and he says few, there be defined it.

And many are on the broad way to destruction. Look what else he says in verse 25. When once the master of the house is risen up, he had shut the door and ye began to stand without and to knock at the door, saying Lord, Lord, open unto us and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not when you are. I don’t know who you are. Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk and thy present, and thou hast taught in our streets.

But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence you are. Ye depart from me all ye workers of iniquity, there shall be weeping and wailing in gnashing of teeth. I don’t see as these are the people that’s going to heaven are the people that’s going to be made righteous. These are not the just, I believe it’s just the opposite. But now look what he says here in verse 29, and they shall come from the east from the west and from the north and from the south and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

Did you know there’s a time coming upon this earth? When the God’s going to take this earth and it’s going to be like the Garden of Eden. And for 1000 years, we’re going to sit down in the kingdom with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, you’re going to get to see Noah, Moses, and all these guys, Peter Amato, they’re all going to be there. And there’s going to be those that are not going to be able to be here.

But I believe that I will. It’s not because I deserve it, because I’ve earned it. It’s because 51 years ago I trusted Christ as my Savior. And God said that He would save me and give me eternal life. And He said He’ll never leave me and never forsake me. And so I don’t think He’ll ever cast me out of His presence. Obedient or not obedient. So I have a problem with those that teach that. Now, I want to put the nail in this coffin on this thing here.

Look there in the book of Matthew chapter 7. Matthew chapter 7. And see if it doesn’t say pretty much the same thing. You see, I don’t believe that Jesus changes his gospel message every anytime you turned around. I believe it’s all the same. So in chapter 7, look there in verse 13 and see if this isn’t similar to what we were just reading about just a minute ago. Enter ye in verse 13 of chapter 7. Enter ye in at the straight gate.

Wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction. Many there be which go in their end. In verse 14, because straight is the gate, narrow is the way which lead us unto life. Few, there be defined it. Think of how many religious people there are in the world. And yet if you ask majority of people, where are you going when you die? They don’t really know. Why won’t they know? If they can accept it as a gift, they can have it now and know.

But if it’s by their works, well then they don’t know if they’re good enough, so they got to wait till they die to find out. So of course, how can they know ahead of time? They don’t know how they’re going to live, but yet they believe they’re going to be good enough. Okay, God says, you can’t earn it. But majority of the people will believe it. Why do they believe a false message? Because there’s false teachers. See there in verse 15 and 16 down through their talks around false prophets have a false message, And so there’s false preachers that are lying to the people.

And they tell people, all you got to do is just, you know, live right, do the best you can and pay your debts, go to church and give money and pray through and hang on and let go and let God. And you get so confused. You don’t know what and know where you got to do. And so they have false teachers who have a false message. And so they get people to trust in their works to get them to heaven.

Now look in verse 21. Now he says, not everyone that sayeth unto me, Lord, Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven, not everyone that says that. Lord, Lord. And look what else they said. He says, but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven, that’s the narrow way. The other is the broad way. They did what they think. But what did God say? He says, you must accept my son, Jesus Christ, as your Savior.

What is the work of God that you believe on Him whom he hath sent? Either you’re trusting Christ in Him alone or you are trusting in your works to get you to heaven. There is no other way. So if I trust Christ, I have eternal life, but did they say anything in here about, hey, we’re trusting Christ as our Savior? No, look what they said in verse 22. He will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied?

That’s what they did. In thy name cast out devils, that’s what they did. And in thy name done many wonderful work, well, that’s what they did. See, it’s all about what they did. It’s nothing about what Christ did. So there’s people who are trying to earn the way to heaven by their good deeds. And he says, depart from me, ye that work iniquity, shall be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.” Now look in verse 23, then, then, will I profess unto them I never knew you.

That’s what we just read just a moment ago, we just read the same thing. Is it different? No, I think it’s the same thing. Then will I profess unto them I never knew you. There are people who think, well, I will save one time, but then I got lost. Well then you can stand at the door. Hey, I will save one time. And the Lord says, I never know you. You see, you can’t get saved and then get lost and then get saved again.

It’s impossible. You can only get saved one time. You can only be born into God’s family at one time. How many times have you been born into this world? Only one time. I made a mistake and asked a person that went. I said, have you been born again? He said, oh yeah, I said, well, great. When? He said, oh, many times. He believed in reincarnation. Every time he died, he got born again. No, that dog won’t hunt. He said, I never knew you.

Depart from me, e, that work, iniquity. This is exactly what you’re reading over there in the book of Luke in chapter 13. So I believe that it’s a reference mainly to those that reject the payment Christ made. and there will be weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth because of the pain. And the Bible talks about they’re put into a furnace. It’s also referred to cast in the outer darkness. And in the book of Jude, it talks about being like wandering stars in the midst of darkness forever.

And it doesn’t have to be that way. The Bible said Jesus Christ died on the cross and made a payment for all the sins of everybody, but everybody has to accept the payment He made. See, there’s a God in heaven, and He knows whether or not you and I believe that He did it for us. If you believe it, well, God knows that, and He gives you eternal life and you will get to go to heaven when you die.

But God also knows those that don’t really trust Him. And there’s a lot of people who say they do and don’t. And that’s why God says there’s many, but few for salvation. So would it be a shame for you to come to this church for 20, 30 years? You listen to Dr. Hank Lindstrom, you’ve listened to me, and yet whenever you die, you never really trusted the Lord. Wouldn’t that be a shame? You heard it, but you just couldn’t believe it.

Well, that’s too simple. That’s too easy. You got to do something. There isn’t anything for you to do. It’s already been done. When Christ died, He died for you so that you don’t have to pay for your sin. He paid for them. If people don’t understand that. But you must believe He did it for you. Let’s pray, Shower Him. If you’re here tonight and you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, Do you believe that he died for you? Will you trust him as your only hope of going to heaven?

Would you believe that when Christ died, he died for you? If you don’t trust the Lord, there’s going to be a lot of weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. And you’ll think back of all the opportunities you had and didn’t take advantage of it. For all eternity, I pray that you will have the good judgment to accept the payment Christ made for you. If you’ve already trust the Lord, you don’t have to do it again. But if you never have, you do need to trust the Lord.

Our Father, we thank You so much for all You’ve done for us. For the privilege we have of knowing Christ is our Savior. Lord, there’s a lot in the Bible we don’t understand. But we do pray, Lord, You’d help us to read, to study it, and Father to believe the things that we do know. We know we’re sinners. We’ve known that Christ died to pay for our sins. That’s easy for us to understand. A lot of things about prophecy we may not see, not understand it.

But Lord, I just pray that the most important thing we do, we’re going to die. Eternity is long and hell is hot. And I pray Your will to be done in the lines of each person. In Christ’s name we pray, amen. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a teaching ministry of Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida, with Dr. Ralph Arnold.
