We pray that you will enjoy our commitment to the clear gospel of Jesus Christ, and that today’s concluding message of this teaching will be a blessing to you and your family. So when God made man, let’s say if man had never developed a sinful nature, they would still be alive today and live forever and it still be just a man, just a man. A man that was created by God. And so when God made him in verse 27, and so God created man in his own image.
So you see, you can be made in the image of God, but still be a man. The reason that’s important because of 1 Corinthians in chapter 15, when it says, we were made, our Newburgh will be in the image of God. But we’ll be, I believe, like the man God intended us to be, but we’ll have a perfect glorified body. But we’ll still be a man. I’ll be a man. I am a man. I will always be a man.
Now when we get to heaven, you say, what about the woman? I don’t know. Don’t get into that. You can’t figure them out here. You’re not going to figure them out there. All I know is that God says, I am a man and a woman was also made and what she’s going to look like. I don’t even know what will look like, but we’ll just be like him, but we shall see him as he is. Look there in John, a verse that I wanted you to see because you can go through here and you can see the word man meant in all other places.
So it was a man that God created. God created this man. Take your Bible now and turn to the book of Hebrews in chapter 10. Hebrews in chapter 10. And you’ll notice there’s a little verse there that kind of gives you an idea because the truth of the matter is, when Jesus Christ came into the world, he didn’t come into the world as an animal, he came as a man, as a man. So in Hebrews in chapter 10, I want you to see this verse, but he says, a body has to prepare me in Hebrews chapter 10.
See there in verse 5, wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith sacrifice and offerings thou would if not, but a body has now prepared me. This is one of the things that makes us a man. We live in a physical, literal body. And I can only be in one place at a time. And so when Christ came into the world, He became a man. He was born in the world and He had a physical body. And in that physical body, He had limitations.
And He could only be in one place at one time. Now, that’s why he says all the miracles and things that he did, he did it by the power of the Holy Spirit, he limited himself. There’s things that he did not do as a man. But as a man and a perfect son of God, he was able to know the Father’s will and the Holy Spirit would reveal thanks to him and so forth. So all that is, that’s well and good.
But Jesus was a man. And so you need to understand that and believe that. He was a man before death, and He was a man after death. Take your Bible and look there in the Gospel of John. John chapter 9, the Gospel of John and chapter 9. John chapter 9, you’ll notice there in verse 16. In verse 16 it says, therefore said some of the Pharisees of this man. He was a man. He looked like a man. He talked like a man.
He walked like a man. He acted like a man. He was a man. And this is before he was crucified. But when he came into the world, he became a man. He had a physical body. And then the next question was, others said, how can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them. The question was, how can a man do such miracles? The question was not that he was a man, but was he a sinner or not?
So they concluded that this man was different from all other men because this man can do things that no other man could do. And even when he spoke, the Bible says that no man spake like this man. No man could speak with the authority like this man, but he was a man born into this world, took upon himself a physical body. Now, if there had never been a sinful nature, all of us would be born and we would have a physical body.
It’s just we would live forever. So has that changed in the sense that now that I have been born of God, am I going to be a man or am I going to be a little God? It’s interesting. I didn’t have the answer when I first read these verses years ago, but I have done a little study in since then. I’ve never heard a preacher ever preach on this, but it’s right there. It’s in the Scriptures. It says those things.
And the question is a reasonable question. So what am I going to be? What are you going to be? But we know that before Jesus died that He was definitely a man. John chapter 10. We saw this first while we go, but I kind of ran over it a little quick. But what I want you to see there in verse 33, the Jews answered him saying, for a good work we stoned the nut, but for blasphemy, and because that vow, and you ought to on the line those words, be in the man.
He was a man. Now if he was a man before he died, what was he after he died? Because whatever he was after he died and he had a physical body, well we’re going to be like him. So maybe if he is a man after his resurrection, or then maybe I’ll be a man. I believe that I was created to be a man. And then when I trusted Christ as my Savior, I’m still a man. And that whenever I die and I get to heaven, I’m still going to be a man.
I’m not going to be a little God running around, and I’m not going to be creating worlds, but I am going to be a man. But I’m going to be a man in a glorified body, but I’m still going to be a man limited to the limitations of a body, a physical body. Now, when you read this, he says, because dalbin, a man, make us thyself God. And so you have to be careful that you don’t try to make yourself a God, just because Jesus is God.
Now, I want you to take your Bible and look there in the book of Acts in chapter 2. The book of Acts and chapter 2. Acts chapter 2 and look there in verse 22. The Bible says, as Peter is preaching a sermon, says in verse 22, ye men of Israel hear these words, Jesus of Nazareth a man. You’re not a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you all, as you yourselves also know.
Him being delivered by the determinant council and foreknowledge of God you have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain, whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because death could not keep him down as shortened for Yankee archaeology. So the Bible says that Jesus was definitely, definitely. He was a man. Of course, we know he was the God-man. He was the perfect God and perfect man. He was a God-man. But to understand that he was a man because he lived in this world, He was born here and that he had a physical body.
And he got thirsty and he got hungry. He fell pain. And he went through a lot of the things and he says the words I thirst. There’s a lot of things that he did and suffered because he was a man. And only a man could come into this world and die for us, but he had the perfect man. And Jesus Christ is the only man that was able to do these things. So, turn in your Bible to the book of 1 Timothy, chapter 2.
First Timothy and chapter 2. 1 Timothy and chapter 2. And you’ll notice there’s a very interesting portion of Scripture here that talks about us as God’s children to pray for those in place of leadership. Look in verse 1, I exhort therefore that first of all, supplication, prayers, get this intercession. We spoke about that this morning. And giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and for all that are in authority. we may lead a quiet and peace of a whole life in all godliness and honesty.
Well, this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior. In other words, doing those things in verse 1 and verse 2 is acceptable in God’s sight. So God wants us to do those things. Now then look in verse 4, who will have all men to be saved? So evidently this is a good verse to pray for all that they would be saved, evidently. So we’re supposed to evidently be praying for the lost. I’ve had people say there’s no verse in the Bible that says, well, to pray for the lost.
Well, they must not have read this verse because I can see that in these verses. So in verse 4, who will have all men to be saved and to come unto the knowledge of the truth? So I’m supposed to pray for all these kinds of people and the kings and those in authority that they’ll come to know the truth, that they’ll come to know the Lord. But look what he says here in verse 5, for there is one God and one mediator between God and men, and you ought to underline this, the man Christ Jesus.
You see, why is that important? Because this is after Jesus has died. This is after the resurrection. Jesus is still a man. So if I’m a man here and now and whenever I die and I get to heaven, I will still be a man. But I’ll have a glorified body, but I’ll still be a man. I will be limited to what I can do and go where in this body. Now I would hope that God may give me a few little magical powers, but I don’t know.
You know, like I told the Lord, Lord, you know what? I love to play golf. Now there’s nine planets. If we can make out a nine-hole golf course, wouldn’t we? to hit a golf ball and it goes to Mars. And then he hit it again, it go to Pluto. Hit it again, go to Saturn and so on. Go all around it, well, wouldn’t that be neat? What a way to go. And then, you know, what’s time? One long eternal day, play golf all day, all night.
One long eternal, there is no night. Just play forever. I mean, you gotta have something to do. So I’ll just put in a few requests. But he was a man. See there in verse six. The man Christ Jesus, he is still referred to as the man. And so I believe that that is exactly who he is and what he is and that we need to believe that. Take your Bible look in Matthew chapter 16. Matthew and chapter 16. Matthew chapter 16.
Verse 28, Verse 28, in this verse it says, Verily, verily, I say unto you, there be some standing here which shall not taste of death till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom. So this is going to be when he comes in his kingdom is going to be after his death and resurrection. And he is still called the Son of Man. It didn’t change. He was here as the Son of Man, and there He will still be the Son of Man.
Jesus said that. So Jesus is still going to be a man. And when He sits on the right hand of the Father, I believe that there’s the Son of Man is sitting at the right hand of the Father. Now I don’t understand all about that, but I don’t need to. I just need to know and understand that even though you and I, we were created… Into this world the first time because of the creation of Adam. But the Bible makes the statement that when you trusted Christ as your Savior, you became a child of God.
So I’m a child of God and I haven’t got my body yet, so it means that I will be a child of God forever, but I’m going to be living in a glorified body. So I’m still going to have a body that doesn’t stop me from being a man. I am a man and He is God. I’m not God. I’m not Him. And I don’t think we’re all going to be in heaven. We’re going to be a whole bunch of little gods either.
I think that we’re still going to be people. We’re going to be individuals. Now I want you to look there at this verse in chapter 17. Chapter 17 looked there in verse 1. where it makes a statement and after six days, Jesus take of Peter and James and John. We just about got those three guys here. His brother and bring it them up into a high mountain apart and was transfigured before them and his face did shine as the sun and his raiment was white as the light.
And behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with them. Now the scripture says they literally appeared and they’re there. So are they able to appear and disappear evidently? Because it says later that there was no man there. All of a sudden they were gone. But right now there’s Moses and Elijah. Then answered Peter and says unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here. Boy, this is really great. You are fortunate. Well, what an opportunity.
He says, let us make here three tabernacles, one for thee and one for Moses and one for Elijah. While he yet speak, be holy, bright, cloud overshadowed them. And behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased. Here ye him. But when they saw Moses and they saw Elijah, I believe they knew that that’s Moses and that’s Elijah. And they were recognizable, but they were still men. They were still men, still in a body.
And they could see a physical body form. And then he makes a statement in verse 6, when the disciples heard it and they fell on their face and were so afraid and Jesus came and touched them and says, arise be not afraid. And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only. But when it says they saw no man, it means they did see two men before this. So they were men, and now they didn’t see the men.
So it means that after they were dead they were still men, recognizable men. I like it the other night when we had the ceremony, memorial service for Mrs. Yance, relatives. I mentioned to them about God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. And if he’s the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and God says that he is not the God of the dead, then Abraham, Isaac and Jacob would still be alive. Because he’s not the God of the dead, he’s the God of the living.
And then whenever Abraham was going to die, God told him a hundred years in advance that you’re going to live to a ripe old age and you will be gathered unto your fathers. So why be gathered to your fathers that they’re no longer the same people that left here? And that’s where he was going. And a hundred years later, it literally happened and says that the kids had a funeral service for him and says that he was gathered into his fathers.
And then when Jacob, he pulled up his feet into the bed and gave up the ghost and was gathered into his fathers. Another one talks about him gathered to his people. So you are still a people, a person, a family, an individual. You’re still a man. And so even though we are now as God’s children, the only difference about me is that I have this whole sinful nature and a sinful body. Well that’s going to be changed but I’m still going to be me.
You will still be you. And we’re not going to be that change that nobody will recognize anybody. You said, well, I hope I can get up here and hide. Nobody don’t know who I am. No. When you get there, you don’t have to ever worry. If you don’t have to run, you don’t have to hide. You don’t have to be ashamed. You don’t have to look in the mirror and say, mirror, mirror on the wall. Crack. You don’t have to worry about it.
I don’t know if you’re going to be running around and comparing yourself. Oh, like women do today. She’s prettier than I am. I don’t think I’m being in comparison. But I think it is interesting that he says they saw no man. And they’re talking about people that have been dead for years and years and years. So what about all of this? I believe this and I know that in 2 Timothy chapter 3 verse 16 talks about the Word of God and how that we as God’s children are to study the Word of God so that we can be the man of God.
So studying the Word of God, it makes you a man of God, but it doesn’t make you God. You’re a man of God. I’m a son of God, but that doesn’t make me God. I’m a human now, and I’ll be a man also for all eternity. I will never be any more than what I am except I’ll be in a glorified body. You will know what will know and so forth. Remember this, God has a few characteristics that we will never have.
Now you know that he is omniscience. That means he’s all wise. It means God knows everything. Now the Bible says we will know as we are known, but that doesn’t mean that we know everything. We will not be as wise as God. I don’t believe that. I think we’re going to be limited in that knowledge. I believe that God is omnipotent, all powerful. I don’t believe that I’m going to be I’m nipton. I don’t think I’m going to be all powerful.
And if I could, I still don’t think I’d be stupid enough to try to make a rock so big I wouldn’t have a place to put it. And I don’t think that you have to worry about, you know, omnipresence. I don’t think because of the limitations of the body you’re not going to be able to be everywhere all at the same time. Now, those are certain attributes of God. You’re not God. You’re not going to be able to do all of that.
God is the Creator and the designer. I don’t think that He’s going to turn that over to you or me. I believe that’s God. Now, I do believe there’s some characteristics about God like love that will fully understand that we don’t understand now. So we’re limited. But I think things like love and the joy of the Lord that God talks about, the peace of God, all those things we will fully be able to enjoy. But I believe it will be limited in the sense that the attributes of God is God, but I will be perfect.
I will be pure as God is pure. And I will not have any sin because I will be justified and he won’t find any fault in me. And I believe He’s going to give me a glorified body and we’ll rule and reign with Christ upon the earth. And that there’ll be those that will be over others and serving and ruling and reigning. How can you rule and reign if there’s nobody to rule and reign over? I ain’t figured all that out, but I’m sure God will figure it all out.
You think He can figure all that out? But until then you, and I, it needs to be untempered. I’m just a man. You’re just a man. You’re a human. You’re not God. You’re not God now and you’re not going to be God later. Only God is God. He says, there is no other God. Beside me, there is no God. He says, I don’t know of any. So if he doesn’t know of any, how are you going to know of any?
You can’t know something God doesn’t know. So I don’t believe that we’ll be a bunch of little God, running all over the heaven and so forth. With the power to create other worlds and so forth. Now there’s and people that believe that. But I believe that this is true. I believe that we ought to enjoy the things of the Lord. Here, the things that God does give to us. But we will fully enjoy it without any hesitation, without any limitation, the love and the joy and the peace because of those fruit of the Spirit’s Spirit that God has.
And we will know and understand so much more than what we know now. But whenever I die, I’ll get a glorified body, but it’ll still be me. I’ll still be a man, but I’ll be a perfect man. That’ll be an improvement. You’ll be a perfect individual, whatever it is that God has us. But anyway, I hope that maybe helps you a little bit. So the next time you read that in the book of John chapter 10, it won’t scare you too bad, and somebody will throw that at you somewhere along the line.
You’ve been as long enough, somebody’s gonna throw that at you and maybe that’ll help you. Understand it a little bit better. Look up here. This hand represent you and me, the walla represents sin. We all have sin on us. We’re all men, but we’re sinful men. We’re wicked men. We’re lost men. And because of sin, this is a death. The wages of sin is death. It means that we’ve earned the right to die. And God says that death in hell.
God loves us, wants us to go to heaven. And so to go to heaven, we have to be perfect as righteous as Godly as He is Himself, as perfect as God, and none of us are. And so to go there, I’ve got to get rid of this. I have a debt to pay. And the pay for this is to be separated from Him. So that’s the opposite of what I want. So how can I get there if I have to pay for this by being eternally separated from Him?
That’s why there has to be a payment made. That’s why Jesus Christ was born of a virgin. A body has not prepared me. He came into the world so that He could take all of our sins upon Himself and die for us. So Christ came back from the dead and said that if you and I if we would believe He did that for us, we would become a child of God, born into His family. I’m just a man. But now instead of being created, I have been birthed into his family.
I am a child of God, and I’ll get a new birth one day, I mean a new body to go along with my second birth. But God has done all these things for us, and He made it so easy and so simple that all that you have to do is to believe that Christ died for you. And if you believe He did it for you, He puts that payment to your account and you get to go to heaven on what Christ did.
Best news in the world. Let’s pray, shall we? Whatever you had bowed, never had clothes, no one looking around. If you have never trusted Christ as your Savior, would you do it today? Would you do it tonight? Or if you’re watching by internet, right where you are, all that you have to do is the only thing you can do. Say, Lord, I know I’m a sinner and I believe you died for me. And I’m going to trust you right now as my only hope of going to heaven.
And friend, if you’ll do that, God will save you, give you eternal life. And you will become a child of God. And you get to go to heaven whenever you die. If you’re making that decision and you’ve never done it before, I’d like to know it and I’d like to have a word of prayer for you. So as the antler wanted all say, yes, pray for me. I will trust Christ as my Savior tonight. You just slip your hand up very quickly and put a wrap back down.
Say it with it all. Our Father, we thank You for the study of Your Word. So much we don’t understand. But Father, we try to utilize the clear verses to understand verses that seems to say, something we sense is not exactly right. So we just pray Your will to be done as we study Your Word and seek to walk with You. Help us Lord to be a blessing. Just pray to be a blessing to people. Thank you so much for all you’ve done for us.
