Well, that’s a little bit of what I want to talk to you a little bit about tonight, is keep moving, keep moving. move. Stay with it. Just keep on going. Now you’ll find there’s a lot of verses in the Bible talks about continue, continue, continue, continue. And so that’s what you have to do. Now take your Bible and turn to the book of Numbers. In your Testament, the book of Numbers, Numbers in chapter 32, this is on page 209 in an old Schofield reference Bible.

And there’s some things here that’s pretty good that I wanted you to see, but it does make a difference because see God wants you and I to holy serve the Lord, not partial obedience, but total obedience. When He says, love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, all thy mind, all thy soul. Well, most people they just love what I love a little bit. How much can I get for a little bit of love? You know, a little obedience.

What can I get for just a little obedience. I mean, with a little bit, keep me from being chastened. Oh, that would be nice to know. Just how much can I get by with? And there’s people like that. You just want to see just how much, you know, how little they can do for the Lord. But you know there had been a problem. They were supposed to go into the land, 12 spies sitting in the land, Penn came back and they had a bad attitude because there were giants in the land, the children of Aideenach, giants.

so they were afraid. They were afraid to go into the land because they’re bigger than us. But God had already told them, I will fight your battles. Don’t be afraid. So they came back and disheartened about 2 million people. And so here you are with all these people ready to go into the promised land, but they didn’t believe God. And so they caused the people to be afraid. And says, you let us up here into this world and this place and we’re going to go back to Egypt.

The Lord let him wander in the wilderness for 40 years. And I want you to see this. their in verse 5 and verse 5. Word for us, saith they, if we have found grace and thy sight, let this land be given unto thy servant for a possession. Bring us not over Jordan. And Moses said unto the children of God and to the children of Reuben, shall your brother go to war and shall you sit here? I mean, shall some go to war?

You going to sit here? And we’re for it discouraged ye the hearts of the children of Israel, from going over into the land which the Lord have given them. He says, Thus did your fathers when I sent them from Katie Spurnia to see the land. And when they went up into the valley of Esquim and saw the land, they discouraged the heart of the children of Israel, that they should not go into the land which the Lord had given them.

So the Lord in verse 10 and the Lord’s anger was kindled at the same time and he swear saying Surely none of the men that came up out of Egypt from 20 years old and upward shall see the land which I swear in the Abraham and Isaac and unto Jacob and here’s the reason because they have not wholly followed me save Caleb and Joshua They have holy followed the Lord. Now let me just mention this to you. Do you believe there’s a difference in someone who served the Lord with all his heart and somebody who doesn’t?

That is going to make a difference in their life. It made a difference in their life. You see some of these people that did not believe And discouraged all those other people and caused their heart to melt. Did you know that God’s going to hold you accountable for the people that you discourage and serve in the Lord? Did you know that sometimes people stumble over our lack of obedience? And if we don’t serve God, they don’t serve God. You don’t go to church.

They don’t go to church. You don’t read the Bible. They don’t read the Bible. You don’t pray. They don’t pray. You don’t wait until they don’t wait. People listen and follow other people. That’s what we do. People are like sheep and they need a leader and sometimes those who they follow don’t leave correctly. And so God said, I’m going to hold them accountable. Did you know that all of those people from 20 years old and upper they came out of Egypt never got into the land?

God let them all die off. They all died in the wilderness. And then those that were younger, 40 years later, 19 years old, here they are almost 60 years old, they get to go into the land. So when God went into the land, God had all these young, tough kids, 60 years old, who have been weather-beaten and in the desert and toughened up and on the march and doing One thing, ready to go into the land, fight for the land.

So does it make a difference? Here you are. Do you think it makes any difference what happens to you down the road if you do or do not serve the Lord with all your heart? It makes a difference. You just don’t see it. There was only two people that came back with a good report that was Joshua and Caleb. Joshua and Caleb. Now, turn the Bible to the book of Joshua in chapter 14. Joshua, chapter 14, the time has come, the 40 years has passed.

They’ve come into the land. Joshua has led them in. Now, because they’re getting ready to go into the land to fight these battles, somebody remembered something and came to Joshua and says, do you remember? I know you remember. So you look there in chapter 14 and look in verse 6, then the children of Judah came unto Joshua and Gilgal, and Caleb, there he is, the son of Janeth, he says, the kinesite, said unto him, thou knowest the thing that the Lord said unto Moses, the man of God concerning me and thee in Cady’s Barnia.

In other words, you remember Joshua? It was you and me that went into the land. It was you and me that came back with a good report. It was you and me that God promised that we would get to go into the land and He says, I want that promise fulfilled. And so He made this statement. In verse 7, 40 years old was I when Moses, the servant of the Lord sent me from Kedis Barneyah to spy out the land.

And I brought him word again as it was in my heart. Nevertheless, my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt. You ought to underline that in your Bible. There’s people who cause people to doubt to question. We can’t do it. We can’t do it because of their lack of faith. Did you realize that over the years you’d be surprised how many things that I have attempted? Because I believe that it’s the will of God and I’ll do it.

And I’ve had some people come alongside and they say we can do this. We can do it. And they’re all excited and enthused and there’s always somebody walking around and it seems like that’s all they do in their whole life is walk around with a big old bucket of cold water. You know what they want to do on it? Do it with it? They want to pour it on you. They want to cool you down. You’re too hot for the Lord.

They’re cool you down, slow you down. Because see, if you decide to serve a little with all your heart, you are a rebuke to everyone who doesn’t. So therefore, there are those who cause the hearts of the people to melt. In other words, they didn’t take hard. They didn’t believe what God said because somebody gave a bad report and almost 2 million people are affected because of it. But there was two people that said, hey, we can do this.

God has promised, and when you go back here to Numbers, they could do it, and they believed that. So notice what he says here in verse 8, nevertheless, my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt, but look at the next part of that verse. But I holy followed the Lord my God. It makes a difference. Isn’t it amazing that all those people from 20 years old and up were dead? But the two people that believe God are still alive.

Do you believe that your life, whether you live or die, is in God’s hands? Is it in the miracle that all those people died except those two? Now think about that. So their death wasn’t just a coincidence. Why didn’t Joshua and Caleb die? But they didn’t because there’s a God in heaven that knows who love him. And we talked in class the other day in day home chapter one and verse seven where it says, the Lord knoweth them that trust him.

The Lord knows those who believe him. And sometimes you could do so much more if God’s people all believed it. But there’s always somebody that’s kind of dragged their feet and they have questions and they have doubt and they never put their shoulder to the will and so you do what you do because you believe it’s right but there’s always somebody wants to try to see if they can hold you back. Look what he says here and this is so important.

Verse 9 and Moses swear on that day, says surely the land where on thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance and thy children’s forever because thou have holy followed the Lord, my God, Moses made a promise to him. And then he says in verse 10, and now behold, the Lord hath kept me alive. Do you believe that God can keep you alive? This is why the Bible says in the New Testament that the scriptures were supposed to study the scriptures that we may learn from them, that we can apply our heart to wisdom insofar as this says in book of Psalms.

The Lord kept me alive as he said. See that verse? As he said. And God promised that Joshua and Caleb would not die. See, if because they serve Lord, they were invincible. They were invincible. They could not die. God had given his word. And Caleb remembered that now the man is only 85 years old. He’s 85 years old and he told the Lord, he says, I want that mountain. There’s a song they used to sing, I want that mountain.

I want that mountain. Where the grapes ofndum ption grow, da da da da da da da. I want that mountain. I can’t remember all of it, but I remember the the man that wrote the song and he was singing it some of the preachers means that I went to him. I want that mountain. 85 years old, he still has some fire in him, still has some get up and go. And look what he says here. As he said, these 40 and five years, even since the Lord spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness.

And now lo, I am this day, four score and five years old. A score is 20 years. I’m 85 years old this day in verse 11. As yet I am as strong this day. As I was in the day that Moses sent me, as my strength was then, even so is my strength now for war both to go out and to come in. Now, buddy, isn’t that somebody with some confidence and some boldness. He says, I am as strong today at 85 as I was when I was 40 years old.

How are you doing? And so he says in verse 12, now therefore give me this mountain. We’re of the Lord’s spake in that day. 45 years ago a promise was made to me and he says, we’re of the Lord’s spake in that that day for thou hurtest in that day how the anacms were there and that the cities were great and fenced. If so be the Lord will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out as the Lord said.

I guess he looked at it if I’m the only one. I can face all of those children of aintake all by myself. God promised and I believe it. Then there’s a man that’s got and faith. There’s a man that believes God. And God, bless him. But look in the last part of verse 14 where he says, because that he wholly followed the Lord God of Israel. You see, not everybody will do that. Most people live their whole Christian life doubtful and fearful and questioning and wondering and they’re not sure.

And a double minded man can expect to receive nothing of the Lord. According to James chapter 1. And he says that, when you ask in faith, ask believing, not questioning or doubting because a man who questions and doubts all the time is like a wave of the sea tossed to and fro. And he a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways and God says, let not that man think he shall receive anything from the Lord. I just see what it says.

So you’ve got to make up your mind. Do you really want to follow the Lord holy and see what God has for you. This is what you do and it will work. Turn in your Bible to the book of Ephesians in chapter 4. Ephesians in chapter 4. And look in verse 13. In other words, stay at it. Keep at it. Keep on keeping on. Let us go on. Don’t stop. Don’t quit. That’s why Paul says in the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 4 and verse 1, he says, therefore having this ministry we faint not, that means we don’t stop, we don’t quit, we keep moving on.

If you notice here in verse 13 he says, well I’ll just start in verse 12, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come in the unity of the faith. In other words, we’re going someplace, we’re not there yet. We’re not there yet. You have not yet arrived. You may have gone a long ways, come to a lot of things, done a lot of things, but God isn’t finished with you yet.

You’re not through yet. Always remember keep your hands to the plow and keep looking straight ahead and keep going and don’t stop now. And the Bible says, till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God into a perfect man and unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. In other words, you are supposed to grow from childhood to adulthood that you be no more henceforth, move by every wind of doctrine that comes along.

So you have to stay in the word, learning, growing, because you want to keep on moving. You’re going from something to something, from something to something. God said, I want to bring you from a child of God into a man of God. I want to bring you into the unity that you’re supposed to have. I want to bring you from where you are into the love that you’re supposed to have, into the peace that God has for you. You haven’t yet arrived.

You may have had a good trip so far, but God’s not done with it yet, because if you have a pulse, you’ve got a purpose and God’s not through with you. So you keep reading, you keep studying. Looking 1 Corinthians 13, 1 Corinthians 13, 1 Corinthians 13, 1 Corinthians 13, and we’re looking verse 11. The same principle is taught here. You’re not to stand still. You’re not to go backwards. You’re to go forward. Grow stronger in your dedication, stronger in your faith.

Don’t get to the place where you just give up and there’s nothing more for me to do. Pour, pour, pour me. Go out in the garden and eat worms. No, the closer you get to the finish line, you don’t stop. So he says in verse 11, when I was a child, when I was a child. It’d been so long ago I can hardly remember when I was a child. If it wasn’t for me telling some of my childhood stories, I wouldn’t remember being a child.

But when I was a child, I spoke as a child. I understood as a child. I thought as a child. But when I became a man, I put away childish things. When I see Christians playing little stupid, idiotic, fleshly, carnal, materialistic little games in their carnality and they never grow up. All they do is sit around wine and pine and moan and groan and they’re envious and they’re jealous of everything and everybody, but they don’t discipline themselves to be what they ought to be.

And all they do is just discourage other people and they cause their hearts to melt instead of encouraging somebody, do something that encourages people. So he says when I was a child. I acted like a child. I thought it was a child. But when I became a man, so you’re going to something, go on and become a grown-up. In your Christian life, grow in the Lord. Go on. That’s what God wants you to do. Just keep going on. Look in Hebrews, chapter 10.

The book of Hebrews in chapter 10, there’s several verses here that I wanted you to see. Look at verse 22 and 23. You’ll notice the word, let us, let us, let us. Mention here three times, but notice in verse 22, let us draw near, that means you don’t stop where you are. You’re going closer to something. Going closer to something, draw near with a true heart and full assurance of faith. This is what he was talking about with Caleb, who holy followed the Lord.

Let us draw near. Keep getting closer and closer to the Lord as you grow in your Christian life. And this is what God wants. Look in verse 23, let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering. For he is faithful that promised. You see that’s what gives you the rock solid boldness that you have ought to have. Because you know that he is faithful, he has promised and you can trust the Lord and don’t question God and don’t doubt God and just keep getting up, keep moving.

Unbelief stops your growth. Unbelief causes you to fear. Unbelief ruins your Christian life because you don’t have the strength that you ought to have. And therefore your whole Christian life, what it could have been. Just think, all those people that come out of Egypt, they saw the miracle of the splitting of the Red Sea. the miraculous food that God gave them from manna, from heaven, all of that that God did. And then they questioned, well, they’re not, they could finally get into the land.

Look how close they got. They was at Cady’s Barnier right there. And they turned around and went back and wandered into wilderness for 40 years. It was only in an 11-days journey. They spent 40 years going on 11-days journey. didn’t have to be that away. And here, and if they listen to what he said, everyone knew, hey, we’re all going to die. Can you imagine all those people that already lived to be 39 years old after that was said?

I mean, I guess this is our year. We got to die this year. We’re not going to make it. And knowing that everybody else has already done died, a few of them still left, and they know we’re not going to into the land, all because our hearts melted. We listen to what somebody said instead of believing God for ourselves. They allow themselves to be held back because they listen to what somebody else said and disheartened them and ruined their Christian life.

Now, look to what says here in verse 23. What you have learned, hold on to. What you have obtained, don’t go backwards. Keep moving on. Always keep moving on. And look what he says in verse 24. Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good work. If I am to provoke you to do something like do good works and provoke you to love. It means that you are not yet where you ought to be. And I am supposed to provoke you to do more, to stay at it, keep working at it.

Don’t stop now. Well, if that’s true for somebody else, it must be true for me too. Should I just quit and give up? Not by the hair of my chinny chin, chin. Because see, when I read those stories, they motivate me. I would love to be able to keep going when I was 85 years old. How old are you? 85. 85 years old. And he’s still going. He’s like that little energizer bunny. Do you remember that little bit? Bunny dig all was going on?

Just keeps on going. Just keeps on going. They don’t have it anymore, but men, I used to get a kick out of that little little bunny that runs all around, just running off some kind of batteries or something. But he always kept moving. That’s what you’ve got to do. That’s what God says that we’re supposed to do. Now, while we’re right here, there’s another verse that I wanted you to see. And you’ll see there in verse 35, cast not away.

Therefore, your confidence which hath great recompense of reward. And the reason for that is is that reward is because of your work. And your work is a result of your confidence. But if you don’t believe, you don’t have confidence. You don’t have confidence. You don’t have the work. If you don’t have the work, you don’t get the rewards. It does affect not only what You need what happens here in your life, but for all eternity. So your future is being determined by your obedience to God today.

Oh, that makes so much sense to me. Colossians in chapter one, looking Colossians in chapter one. chapter 1. And verse 23, Colossians chapter 1 and verse 23. In verse 23, it’s talking about don’t let something move you away from that1965 which God has called you. Verse 23, if you continue, ifjamin continue, see there’s something that God wants you to do and how God can use you, how God can bless you, you haven’t yet arrived. God wants to haha so much for you and through you.

If you continue in the faith grounded and settled, groundedpleted to the believer. This is not to the lost man. The PHOTO-man doesn’t get grounded and settled and so on. This is to those who believe on Christ. You have eternal life, but it’s talking about how God can use you. Now, while you’re right there in Colossians, look there in SERVES in verse 6. As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so they’ve already received the Lord, So walk ye in him.

Walk means one foot in front of the other. And if you’re walking, you must be going somewhere. And if you’re going somewhere, whatever it is, and wherever God’s leading you, don’t stop. Don’t stop. Keep giving it all that you have and serving the Lord. And you be surprised. God said he will bless you. Now, we were right there in Hebrews. So go back to Hebrews in chapter 12 and verse 1. And Hebrews chapter 12 and verse 1, you’ll notice this talking about a reason to keep moving on.

You see there in verse 1, workforce seeing, we also are encompassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses. Let us lay aside every weight. Why? Because I’m supposed to run a race. It means I haven’t finished my race. It means that I am in the race and I am supposed to be running the race. Are you running? And as he says in the book of Galatians in chapter 5, he says, he did run well. Who did hinder you that you do not run?

Who stopped you from running? Who robbed you of your joy? Who took away that purpose out of your life. Run, run, run. Keep moving on. Let us lay aside every weight and the sin would death so easily be set us and let us run. So if you’re running it means you’re not where you’re supposed to be yet. And God didn’t say stop. He hadn’t said stop. You stop when? When do you stop running? When you’re dead. You stop running the race when you’re dead.
