Turn in your Bible to the book of Ephesians in chapter 4. Ephesians in chapter 4. And look in verse 13. In other words, stay at it. Keep at it. Keep on keeping on. Let us go on. Don’t stop. Don’t quit. That’s why Paul says in the book of 2 Corinthians chapter 4 and verse 1, and he says, therefore having this ministry we faint not. That means we don’t stop, we don’t quit, we keep moving on. If you notice here in verse 13, he says, well, I’ll just start in verse 12, for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come in the unity of the faith.

In the words, we’re going someplace, we’re not there yet. We’re not there yet. You have not yet arrived. You may have gone a long ways, come to just a lot of things, done a lot of things, but God isn’t finished with you yet, you’re not through yet. Always remember, keep your hands to the plow and keep looking straight ahead and keep going and don’t stop now. And the Bible says, “‘Til we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God into a perfect man, into the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”

In other words, you are supposed to grow from childhood to adulthood that you be no more henceforth, move by every wind of doctrine that comes along. So you have to stay in the word learning, growing, because you want to keep on moving. You’re going from something to something, from something to something. God said, I want to bring you from a child of God into a man of God. I want to bring you into the unity that you’re supposed to have.

I want to bring you from where you are into the love that you’re supposed to have, into the peace that God has for you. You haven’t yet arrived. You may have had a good trip so far, God’s not done with it yet, because if you have a pulse, you’ve got a purpose and God’s not through with you. So you keep reading, you keep studying. Look in 1 Corinthians and chapter 13. 1 Corinthians and chapter 13. 1 Corinthians chapter 13, and we’re looking verse 11, the same principle is taught here.

You’re not to stand still. You’re not to go backwards. You’re to go forward. Grow stronger in your dedication, stronger in your faith. Don’t get to the place where you just give up and there’s nothing more for me to do. Pour, pour me. Go out in the garden and eat worms. No, the closer you get to the finish line, you don’t stop. So he says in verse 11, when I was a child, when I was a child, it’d been so long ago I can hardly remember when I was a child.

If it wasn’t for me telling some of my childhood stories, I wouldn’t remember being a child. But when I was a child, I spoke as a child. I understood as a child. I thought as a child. But when I became a man, I put away childish things. When I see Christians playing little stupid, idiotic, fleshly, materialistic little games in their carnality and they never grow up. All they do is sit around wine and pine and mown and groan and they’re envious and they’re jealous of everything and everybody but they don’t discipline themselves to be what they ought to be and all they do is just discourage other people and they cause their hearts to melt instead of encouraging somebody.

Do something that encourages people. So he says when I was a child. I acted like a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man, so you’re going to something, go on and become a grown-up. In your Christian life, grow in the Lord, go on. That’s what God wants you to do. Just keep going on. Look in Hebrews chapter 10. The book of Hebrews in chapter 10, there’s several verses here that I wanted you to see.

Look at verse 22 and 23. You’ll notice the word, let us, let us, let us. Mention here three times, but notice in verse 22, let us draw near, that means you don’t stop where you are. You’re going closer to something. Going closer to something, draw near with a true heart and full assurance of faith. This is what he was talking about with Caleb who wholly followed the Lord. Let us draw near, keep getting closer and closer to the Lord as you grow in your Christian life.

And this is what God wants. Look in verse 23, let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for he is faithful that promised. You see, that’s what gives you the rock solid bonus that you have ought to have. Because you know that he is faithful, he has promised and you can trust the Lord and don’t question God and don’t doubt God and just keep getting up, keep moving. unbelief stops your growth. Unbelief causes you to fear.

Unbelief ruins your Christian life because you don’t have the strength that you ought to have and therefore your whole Christian life what it could have been. Just think all those people that come out of Egypt, they saw the miracle of the splitting of the Red Sea, the miraculous food that God gave them from manna from heaven, all of that that God did. And then they questioned whether or not they could finally get into the land. Look how close they got.

They was at Cady Sparnier right there. And they turned around and went back and wandered into wilderness for 40 years. It was only in an 11-day journey. They spent 40 years going an 11-day journey. It didn’t have to be that way. And here, and if they listen to what he said, everyone knew, hey, we’re all going to die. Can you imagine all those people that already lived to be 39 years old after that was said. I mean, I guess this is our year.

We got to die this year. We’re not going to make it. And knowing that everybody else has already done died and a few of them still left and they know we’re not going to get into the land. All because our hearts melted. We listened to what somebody said instead of believing God for ourselves. They allowed themselves to be held back because they listened to what somebody else said and disheartened them and ruined their Christian life. Now, look to what he says here in verse 23, what you have learned, hold on to.

What you have obtained, don’t go backwards. Keep moving on. Always keep moving on. And look what he says in verse 24, let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good work. If I am to provoke you to do something like do good works and provoke you to love, it means that you are not yet where you ought to be. And I am supposed to provoke you to do more. Just stay at it. Keep working at it.

Don’t stop now. Well, if that’s true for somebody, it must be true for me too. Should I just quit and give up? Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin. Because see, when I read those stories, they motivate me. I would love to be able to keep going when I was 85 years old. How old are you? 85 years old and he’s still going. He’s like that little energizer bunny. Do you remember that little bit? Bunny thing, He always goes down, just keeps on going, just keeps on going.

They don’t have it anymore, but man, I used to get a kick out of that little bunny that runs all around, just running off some kind of batteries or something. But he always kept moving. That’s what you’ve got to do. That’s what God says that we’re supposed to do. Now, while we’re right here, there’s another verse that I wanted you to see. And you’ll see there in verse 35, cast not away. Therefore, your confidence which hath great recompense of reward.

And the reason for that is it. Rewards in heaven is because of your work. And your work is a result of your confidence. But if you don’t believe, you don’t have confidence. You don’t have confidence. You don’t have the work. If you don’t have the work, you don’t get the rewards. It does affect not only what happens here in your life, but for all eternity. So your future is being determined by your obedience to God today. Oh, that makes so much sense to me.

Colossians in chapter 1, looking Colossians in chapter 1. And verse 23, Colossians chapter 1 and verse 23. In verse 23, talking about don’t let something move you away from that which God has called you. Verse 23, if you continue, if you continue, see there’s something that God wants you to do and how God can use you, how God can bless you, you haven’t yet arrived. God wants to do so much for you and through you. If you continue in the faith, grounded and settled, grounded and settled as to the believer, this is not to the lost man.

The lost man doesn’t get grounded and settled and so on. This is to those who believe on Christ, you have eternal life, but it’s talking about how God can use you. Now, while you’re right there in Colossians, look there in chapter two and verse six. As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so they’ve already received the Lord, so walk ye in him. walk means one foot in front of the other. And if you’re walking, you must be going somewhere.

And if you’re going somewhere, whatever it is, wherever God’s leaning, don’t stop. Don’t stop. Keep giving it all that you have and serving the Lord. And you’d be surprised God said He will bless you. Now, we were right there in Hebrews. So go back to Hebrews in chapter 12 and verse one. And Hebrews chapter 12 and verse one. You’ll notice it’s talking about a reason to keep moving on. You see there in verse one, we’re foreseen. We also are encompassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses.

Let us lay aside every weight. Why? Because I’m supposed to run a race. It means I haven’t finished my race. Means that I am in the race and I am supposed to be running the race. Are you running? And as he says in the book of Galatians in chapter five, he says, he did run well. Who did hinder you that you do not run? Who stopped you from running? Who robbed your of your joy? Who took away that purpose out of your life?

Run, run, run. Keep moving on. Let us lay aside every weight and the sin would death so easily be set us and let us run. So if you’re running at me, you’re not where you’re supposed to be yet. and God didn’t say stop. He hadn’t said stop. You stop when? When do you stop running? When you’re dead. You stop running the race when you’re dead. Until then, you keep running and you don’t quit until you die. You’d be surprised this way of thinking will energize you physically.

You’ll be able to have more energy, Go more and do more if you think right. The body is to be in subjection to the mind. All success and all you fail, you’re starting to end right up here in the way you think. All of your actions are a by-product of the way that you think. And if you wanna raise the caliber of your life, raise the caliber of your thoughts. That’s why he says, be not conformed to this world, but be it transformed by the renewing of your mind that you may prove or discover what is a good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

and God will richly bless you for doing so. Now, we’re still here in Hebrews. So I want you to look there in Hebrews chapter six, Hebrews and chapter six. And you’ll notice they’re in verse one. Therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ. So we’re moving from one position to another. This is the child of God that should be strong in the Lord and able to teach the word of God, as it says in chapter five and verse 11, 12, and 13 down through there, you ought to be teachers.

Okay, you can’t. So what do you do? You’re quick for the rest of your life. You fell into the mud. What should you do? Well, just lay there. Just lay there in the mud and just give up. Go and give up. No, get up. Don’t stop. Just because you stumbled. Just because you failed. Just because you’ve messed up. If God gives you some life to live yet, get up straighten up and do right. And you’ll be surprised what God can do for you on down the road.

And that’s why He says here in verse 1 of chapter 6, leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ. Let us, and here’s those two little words that I’ve been speaking about all night. Go on. Let us go on. Don’t stop. Don’t quit. Just keep moving. Keep going on. Because God wants you to go from something to something, and you’re not there yet. You haven’t arrived yet. No man should think, well, I have accomplished enough. I don’t need to accomplish any more.

You accomplish all that God wants you to accomplish. And as long as you draw breath, you have a reason for living. So you do that and you believe it and you stay at it. But anyway, I love that part of the verse. Look there in Hebrews in verse 10, chapter six, verse 10. For God is not unrighteous. God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love which you have showed toward his name and you’ve done enough you paid your dues so now you can quit.”

Now what it said? Or maybe I twisted just a tad. He makes a statement which you have showed toward his name in that ye have ministered to the saints and do means you you haven’t stopped. You’re still doing it. You see, it would be a sin for God to forget what you’ve done for him. And God can’t sin. So if God can’t forget all the good things you have done for him in his name, if God can’t forget, then he remembers and he says he’s going to reward you for everything you did for him.

And God will not forgive. Just always remember this, in serving the Lord, He’s the one that’s going to give you praise, honor, and glory. He will. So when you get to heaven, as He said concerning the saints, Paul mentioned in the book of 1st Thessalonians in chapter 1, he says, He are my crown of rejoicing. You, the people, when I get to heaven, you are my crown of yours. Don’t get to heaven, what’s better than silver when you get to heaven or better than gold when you get to heaven.

What’s better than crowns when you get to heaven? What’s better than rewards when you get to heaven? Is the people that’s there because of you. You see, because I think this way, it makes a difference on what I want to do with my life. That’s why you want to try to get as many people as possible to be a soul winner because they’re laying up treasure and rewards in heaven and And every person, they win the Christ when they get to heaven and they see all these faces, all these faces.

There’s a group called the Greater Vision that sings the song, all these faces. When you get to heaven and you see what God has done through you and the people when they get to heaven and they say, well, I’m in heaven because there’s the man who won me to Christ. There’s that lady that told me about Christ in Sunday school. Won’t that be a wonderful time? Don’t let anything stop you from doing what you can possibly do. And just because we’re not old or don’t mean that we can’t.

can’t do something with our lives because we most certainly can. So anyway these are just a few thoughts that I want to pass on to you but not to give you one more before we quit. Look there in Hebrews in chapter 13. Hebrews in chapter 13, Hebrews chapter 13 and look there verse 21. Verse 21, he starts off a little bit before this when he says about praying for us.

Now let’s just start up there in verse 18. Pray for us, for we trust we have a good conscience in all things willing to live honestly. But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.” Now the God of peace that brought again from the dead are Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the everlasting covenant make you perfect, complete in every good work to do as well.

Working, that’s now working in you, working in you. Is the Lord, do you believe that now the Lord is working in your life? I’m not talking about that He has, but is He now? Have you quit? Have you stopped? Has He tired and weary of doing right? He says, we will reap if we faint not. We will reap if we faint not. You will reap if you don’t quit. And so He says here, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight.

So, do you think you should stop doing that now? That was just for the past and you didn’t done enough and you don’t have to do anymore? That which is well-pleasant in his sight through Jesus Christ, a home be glory forever and ever. This is what God wants us to do. So, especially when you go through the book of Hebrews and you see it’s thought, let’s go on, let’s go on, let’s go on, let’s go on, we don’t stop, just keep going on.

You think You’re like a military, you’re marching, and you just don’t stop, you can’t quit. So much to do. And that’s why the Lord says that He is gonna do something for you. See there why you’re right there in Hebrews. Look there in verse six, where it says, so that we may boldly say, the Lord is my what? My help. Now, the Lord doesn’t need to be your helper if you don’t need any help, because you’re not doing anything anyway.

You don’t need the Lord to guide you if you’re not moving. You’re not going anywhere. If you’ve seen little kids get behind a steering wheel of a car, you know the motor’s not running but he’s behind the wheel of the car. The car. Hang on. Beep beep beep beep. Play it. Ba-ody, ba-ody, ba-ody, ba-ody, ba- yeah Playing but he ain’t going anywhere. Somebody has a jolly stop that noise.

But it’s on break but you know just love some effects. And so they live in a dream world but never do anything. They play Christian play. The whole Christian just play, but they never get serious about it. I’m talking about pray and be serious about it. I’m talking about witnessing and be serious about it. Read the word and be serious about it. When you go to church, you’re trying to help because you don’t want people to stumble over your testimony.

There ought not be anything in a Christian’s testimony that people stumble over and it causes to be discouraged, their heart melt, or they get so discouraged and so down and so in despair that they quit and give up. Provoke one another to love. Provoke one another to do good work. Get people moving, get people going on. You know people that should be in church and they’re not calling them. Pray for them. Get on the phone, talk to them. Women know how to talk.

Use it. I used to tell the bus captains when you have a kid on the bus and all he wants to do is cause trouble. I mean he’s a loud mouth individual, a troublemaker. I said don’t try to change that kid. Harness, bad energy. Let him be the leader. Get him up there and let him lead the songs. Bragg on him, talk and utilize that next thing. You know you have yourself a great leader. The best leaders are the ones that were the biggest troublemakers I’ve ever had.

I always wonder about the real shy type of never doing anything. That’s what I’ve said before. I don’t mind it when people go to sleep when I’m talking. It’s those who stay awake and watch me that worries me. That means they don’t trust me. The other one can go to sleep, they don’t mind. But we have a wonderful, wonderful heritage. Somebody led us to Christ. And we talked in our Bible class about a tree of life. Proverbs 11th, a tree of life.

What is a tree of life? That every man’s a tree and he has some fruit on his tree. People, trusting Christ is Savior from you, at your the tree. And there’s people getting saved because of you. There’s fruit and then that fruit starts a tree and they get somebody else, make it somebody else, and you have a tree of life. I don’t know if you want a tree or you want a vine, but I just want a lot of fruit up here.

The sin represents you and me. Now wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. God loves us, hates everything we’ve done wrong, all of our sins. And we’re all in the same boat. Whether you committed a lot of sins or a little sin, but you committed sin and nobody’s perfect, but God. And the Bible says the wages of sin is death, eternal separation from the Lord. But God loves us once to go to heaven and to go to heaven we have to be perfect as righteous as God is.

Nobody’s perfect, no one’s righteous. We’ve all come short of God’s perfection. So how do I get rid of my sins? God gave the law to show us that we can’t save ourselves because the law requires perfection and we’re not. The law is a curse because cursed is everyone that does not continue in all things written in the book of the law to do them. That’s Galatians 3, 10. So the Bible says that Christ came into the world. That’s God in the flesh.

He had no sin, didn’t have to die. Everybody else in the world is born as a sinner. So we all have to die. He’s the only one who didn’t have to die because everything wrong. So he could voluntarily pay for the sins of all the world. So he took all the sins of the world upon himself and paid for them on the cross, came back from the dead and said that if we would believe he did it for us, He would put this payment to our account.

We go to heaven on what Jesus Christ did. That’s the best news in all the world that anybody can ever hear. There is not a better message. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believe it. Georgia in town. There isn’t a better message. Nobody can live for a better reason. No one in the world can hear a better truth than this brief little message is the greatest of all time. And God is going to honor the people who will believe what he says and do something about it.

So you ought to be seen, God, how do you want me to fulfill my responsibility? What can I do and find out what can I do? How can I help? help. And you’ll find out God says, I will help you when you do what I tell you to do. Let’s pray, shall we? Every head bowed and every eye closed and no one looking around. If you’re here tonight and you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, I hope that you do.

There’s no tricks to it, no gimmicks to it. Or if you’re watching by internet, understand just God loves you and that you don’t have to go on and serve God and things like that. I’m talking right now to you as a person who maybe have not trusted Christ as your Savior. If you haven’t trusted the Lord, you can’t serve God. So forget that. You need to trust Him as your Savior. Believing that when He died, He died for you and you believe it, God said He would save you and give eternal life.

right now in the quietness of this moment where you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior. If you do, God said, He would save you and give you eternal life and never cast you out and never lose you. With his bow nice and close, and no one looked around, is there anyone at all say, yes, that made sense to me. I want to be certain of one to heaven and I will trust Christ as my Savior tonight. I believe all of you here have, but I never know.

Don’t want to take it for granted. If you say, yes, I will trust Christ as my Savior tonight and preach. I’d like you to pray for me. We just let me in very quickly, but right back down, they weren’t all. Our Father, we do thank You so much for loving us, giving us Your Word. And Father, these stories in Your Word are awesome. They’re so powerful. They tell us all that we need to know. They show us what we need to do.

And Father, we pray that each one here will determine, I want to serve the Lord with all my heart. I want to be used. And Father, we just commit ourselves to doing. Thank you for all you’ve done for us. Christ and we pray. Amen. You’ve been listening to Bibleline, a teaching ministry of Calvary Community Church in Tampa, Florida with Dr. Ralph Arnold.
