Go back there to the book of 2 Peter and Chapter 2 and look in verse 5. And notice the word spared not, spared not, and spared not the old world but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly. Who did that? God did that. Why did he do that? Because God spared him not. God brought judgment upon this world because of their sin, because of their wickedness, because they imagined Whatever it was, they did it.

And the Bible says that Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. But look at all the other people. You see, something, it didn’t have to be this way, but just people do not listen and they don’t learn. We’re living in a wicked society today. It’s getting more difficult for getting good, godly people to do right. The world is influencing them. And there’s people who have a humanistic attitude, philosophy of life. And then they come to church and they want to change the church to be like they were.

This church doesn’t change to be like the world. We believe the Bible and we teach the Bible. We’re not interested in changingolated God’s word says. So nobody from the world will come in here and change this book or this preacher. And I hope that I’m making myself very clear. There’s a perspective that you always keep in mind. There is a divine perspective and a human perspective. I don’t trust the human perspective. I trust the divine perspective. To see things from God’s point of view, and I believe it’s so very, very important.

your Bible with me to the book of Psalms, the 78th Psalm. Way back there in the Old Testament, the 78th Psalm, Psalm 78. And look in verse 43, you’ll notice that God made a lot of promises to Israel of how he would bless them if they did right, how he would chasten them if they didn’t, And you think, well, that’s all they needed. I mean, after all, if you was one of those children of Israel and you had come out of Egypt and you saw, you know, Charleston Heston’s sending up there and that thing opened up like that.

At that time when I first saw this, I hadn’t read the book, but I saw the movie since then I’ve read the book. And to see the 10 commandments, the water parting like that. And then you all go on across and then they’re all coming back in and then drawing all those people. You know, that would have made an impact upon me is that I’m going to watch my peacing cues and the rest of the alphabet. That ought a scarip person have the death to go against a god that can do that, or to feed you for 40 years in the wilderness with some miraculous, you know, man that comes down.

Now, you and I have all these stories. heard about what God has done and you’d be surprised how many of God’s people still don’t get it. They won’t listen. They won’t believe it. So look what He says here and I want you to look there in verse 43. How He was rocked His signs in Egypt and His wonders in the field of zone. And had turned their rivers into blood and their floods that they could not drink. He sent divers sorts of flies among them which devoured them in frogs which destroyed them.

He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar and the labor unto the locus. He destroyed their vines with hail and their sycamore trees with frost. He gave up their cattle also to the hail and their flocks to hot thunderbolts. God said he did all of that. Now, they couldn’t see God. All they saw was what was going on. And the thing about people today is that you still can’t see God. But you ought to be able to do a little discerning.

You can see things happening. I’ve watched over the last 53 years of God working in my life. I have no doubts. I don’t have questions at all. I am totally satisfied, convinced that I can see God working in my life. And I believe he still is because I can discern, because I look at things from the book and I get so thrilled and just so blessed to know that God is using me. Is God using you? Are you allowing him to use you?

Or do you put up a rebellious sign? I will not, I will not, I will not obey you. You come to church, you hear the word, but do you, you to the word? Are you an obedient child of God? Or do you defy God? It’s gonna be your way or God can take the highway. Isn’t there something for somebody to say something like that? Oh, you wouldn’t say that, but you do it by your life, by not praying like you ought to, being faithful like you ought to, witnessing like you.

See, there’s so many things we don’t do totally like we ought to. We all need some help. That’s why church encourages and helps. Because see, I can chew you out so that your wife doesn’t have to. And see, I can chew out the husband, and that way the wife doesn’t have to. Therefore everybody just hates one person. Well, that’s you hating each other. Isn’t that better? God figured all this stuff out. You’re not going to hate me if you don’t come in and listen to me.

You hear what I’m saying? Some preachers all they want everybody to do is just, I want everybody to like me. I want you to think I’m the greatest preacher in all the world. Well, if I did see it, then I couldn’t get on your case. I want to be able to chew out anybody. I do not believe in tiptoeing through the tithers. But now, I know what he says down here in verse 49. He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath and indignation and trouble, and you’re underlined it, by sending evil angels among them.

God sent them this, and God sent them that, God sent them troubles. In verse 50, he made a way to his anger. He spared not, get that, you’re underlined, he spared not their soul from death. So God does a lot of these wonderful things. because they would not listen. And then he talks about his own children. And verse 52, but made his own people to go forth like sheep, guided them in the wilderness like a flock. Yet they didn’t see him.

Oh, there was a full of fire, cloud, angel food. All you know is there’s somebody behind the scenes. Somebody bigger than us is doing all of this. You ought to believe that there’s a God just because the fact that you’re here. You didn’t make you. God did that. And even though I don’t see God, I really do see him. I see him to the pages of this book, and it’s so important. Turning your Bible to the book of Romans in chapter 11.

Romans in chapter 11. The book of Romans and chapter 11. I’ll just put it this way to you so that you know. Beware of the preacher who’s always too nice to you. He wants your membership or your money more than he cares about you walking with God. If a preacher doesn’t chew you out once in a while and tell you what sin is and warn you, sometimes scare you half the death that he ain’t worth a quarter. I’m at worth at least 50 cents.

But look here in the book of Romans in chapter 11. Israel, the apple of his eye. I mean, God wouldn’t spare them, would He? And yet when Christ came into the world. Did he all believe him? Accept him? He was rejected and crucified. The temple was destroyed just like Jesus told him it would be destroyed. They were scattered upon the face of the earth almost 2,000 years. It didn’t have to happen. It didn’t have to be that way. But all because of unbelief, they did not believe.

God did not spare the nation of Israel. it’s what they have gone through all these years. Look what they’re still under over there. And they’re trying to have a peace treaty made with them. I don’t believe they ought to give up any land for anything for anybody. They ought not part God’s land. God gave it to them. Sometimes I wish I was Jewish. But I’m not, but sometimes I think, well, I love that. because I have a lot of respect for the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

This whole book is because of Jews, the nation of Israel. Jesus Christ was a Jew. The disciples were Jews. Therefore we have a lot to be thankful for him. But notice what he says here in verse 1 of chapter 11, I say then have God cast away his people, God forbid. For I also am an Israelite of the seat of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin, God have not cast away his people which he foreknew. He says, don’t you know what the scripture says about Elijah, how he made intercession to God against Israel, saying, Lord, they have killed thy prophets and dig down thy nullters, and I am left alone and they seek my life.

Lord, I’m the only one left.” And the Lord says, shut up. I got 7,000 that have not bowed the knee to bail. I got 7,000. So we don’t know everything. We can’t see everything. But God has set his people aside. And then the time in the future there’s going to be a great tribulation period where God is going to bring out His judgment upon Israel because of their rejection and upon the nations of the world because of how they treated Israel.

Because God says, I will bring every nation where, remember the promise He made day for Him, I will bless them, that bless thee and curse them, that curse thee. And then you get to Zechariah where he says, all nations shall turn against Israel in the last days. We’re almost there, aren’t we? And Israel, one little bitty nation, standing alone. And so the only reason it’s not not allowed, not later because there’s a God in heaven, but God is not going to spare the chastening.

And He’s going to chasten also every nation upon the face of the year. This is why He’s gonna be pulling people into the valley of Jehoshaphat and the plains of Jez Reel and there’s gonna be the battle of Armageddon and The blood of his has a horses bridle for 200 miles You’re talking about God is not going to spare He tells us what he’s going to do and then he does it He warns us It’s like your daddy trying to warn you that if you do this I’m gonna have to spank you You did that and then you’re totally surprised.

Well, why did you spank me for? I? I told you ten times I was going to. But some people are just hard of hearing. Does God have to get a two before and put it over your head to get your attention? Wouldn’t that be a shame? I want to be sensitive to the Lord. If I just think I heard him, huh? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. Now if you listen quite now, I did this one day in college. I had a guy that says, now, whatever I tell you to do, I want you to do.

And so I’m just going to talk to you, normal voice. And I’m going to tell you to walk across here and I’m going to tell you to do this, stop, start, all that kind of stuff. And so when he started, I was talking about like this. And as I was talking, I said, take two steps forward and they’d take two steps forward. I said, now turn to your left, he’d turn to your left. I said, now, tell him this way, two feet, he’d come this way.

And I had a guy with a sneer drum. I said, now start playing that thing, and he started playing it. I said, I hit it louder. I keep talking. And he would get louder and louder. Now he really got to concentrate in order to hear my voice. And he was struggling trying to hear my voice. And then I told everybody else to start making noise and holler and yellin’. He could hardly hear my voice. And she, the Bible talks about a still small voice.

The world is loud. Everything’s making a noise. Everybody’s crying for your attention. Everybody’s trying to get your money, trying to get you to buy this, buy that out. And then you’re trying to hear this faint, small voice. And some people, they can’t hear it anymore. Because they’re no longer sensitive. They’re no longer listening to what God is. And so you can pick out his voice. The Bible even talks about, you know, sheep. My sheep hear my voice. They can detect a voice.

And here’s God and he has a voice and he speaks. But are you listening? Do you hear what God says? Do you ever go by, I want God to go for my life. I want to do what God wants me to do with my life. Are you listening to what he says? And then you say, I’m going to do whatever it is.cluded. I don’t care how hard, difficult, whatever that I just do. I’m going to obey. Did you know that delayed obedience is what?

It’s disobedience. Well, I’m going to until you do, you’re still disobedient. Well, it doesn’t matter about that. You’re still disobedient until you do what it says to do. And God said, he will bless you if you do it. Now, take your Bible and look in Romans 8. This is the one that really will break your heart. You see, the Bible tells us, yes, up there in verse 28, Romans 8, we know that all things work together for good to them that love God to them who are the called according to his purpose.

So you’re not supposed to believe God has a purpose and that all things work together for good to those that love the Lord. And you say, well, I love the Lord, then all things that can happen can work together. Individually by themselves know that they all come together. So God allows a lot of things, and you’re like, and I explained it to a college class one time this way. How many of you like everybody like cake. I said, now, if we took those ingredients and put them up here on the sheer desk, and I gave you a mouthful of flour, how would that taste?

What if I just gave you a mouthful of lard? How would that taste? What about just a mouthful of bacon soda? How would that taste? And you go through each one of those, it’s the individually, it’s not. But if you take the right amount of each one of those ingredients and put it together, you can have your cake. Did you know that God knows what He’s trying to make out of your life? So He’s the one that knows just the right amount of all the different ingredients and the pressures and the trials and tribulations, testings that you need in your life to make you what God wants you to be.

God is making you what He wants you to be and He knows what you need. So boy, I didn’t need that. God says, yes you did. I don’t know why this happened to God does because He knows what He’s trying to make out of Him. You stop trying to make you into what you want you to be. Let God make you into what He wants you to be. Then it’s a whole different way of life. It just makes life so much more exciting because you don’t know what God’s going to do next.

And that’s what’s exciting. I love adventure. I told Betty, you know, if it hadn’t been for me, nor the Lord and certain of the Lord, I’d I’ve been over here in Africa someplace and swinging on the monkey vine. Oh! But I used to go to the house and yard and I was screaming, boy I can do a Tarzan yell, better than Tarzan could. I can’t believe that when we went down on this last trip down to the leaves, they took us up there 200 feet high and we got on these monkey vines.

No, no. They had us on these things strapped in and all that. But I thought, man, if I just get a monkey vine, cut the bottom of the thing on there. do my heart, power them all the way time to the thing. We had four stations and I let it rip every one of them. They could hear me all over. But there’s just something about the excitement of adventure. If you want adventure in your Christian life, don’t be bored, serve the Lord.

Your life will be more exciting than anything you’ll ever do with anybody. Any book you’ll ever read, it ought to be your own personal life because, you know, life is about you and God. Not you and somebody. It’s about you and God. We’re talking about David and Goliath, but it’s David and God. It’s about Moses and God. It’s about David and God. It’s always about the person and God. Daniel, it’s about Daniel and God. Your life is about you and God.

So if that’s the case, how are you doing? God wants to get your attention. And you’d be surprised at things. He’ll allow to come into your life just to say, hello. And you’ll let things happen just so you’ll pray to him. You see, sometimes you won’t pray unless it gets serious. God says, OK, I won’t get it serious. Because if you won’t come and talk to him, he can force you to do it. By putting up on you pressure that you can’t handle.

And you’re ready to break! I can’t handle anymore! God says, finally! Because, see, he will do and work in your life to get you to come to him. I want you to look at this first word now. Look there in verse 41, what shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against this? If God be for us, who can be against us? Isn’t that a good verse? And look in verse 32, He that spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

The most precious thing God had was his son. But he so loved the world, he took all the sins of all the world and put them up on his son, and he didn’t even spare him. He didn’t spare his son. His son cried out, my God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Because he had the sins of the world upon him. And God allowed his own son to die. And so God says, if I did that to him, don’t you think I got so much more I want for you?

He did that for us. And if he will do that just to let his son die so that we could have the free gift of everlasting life, why would I wanna turn against God when I know that everything is in his control? And he’s the one as we studied in Sunday school this morning. He can make the kings rise and he can make them fall. He can bless, he can chase them. He can make kingdoms rise and fall. He can place people in positions of whatever he wants.

He can close the mouths of lions. He can open them up to Red Sea. He can cause people to come back from the dead. God is God. Now tell me why I should not serve God. What would be my advantages of going against God? When I know that if I serve Him, He will bless me. But if I don’t, I don’t care if I have served God for 53 years. I believe my heavenly Father will not spare me the chasing rod in my own wife if I walk and live an ungodly life.

He will not spare me. he won’t nail me. And I don’t believe that even if I’ve done it for 53 years, doesn’t give me any rights, any special liberties that I ought to be, you know, cut a little slack now. No. Don’t believe it. There is that verse we read when we opened up the message this morning. in Hebrews in chapter 12, where it says, how shall we escape? How shall we escape? You can’t. You can’t rebel against God and when.

Look up here, this hand represents you and me and the wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. Now God, He loves us. Now remember that, He loves you. He hates what we do wrong, but He loves us. But God’s been a just God, He has to punish sin. Just like you can love your children, but you don’t have to love the wrong that they do. So God says the payment has to be made, and the payment is eternal separation from God in hell.

God says, I want you in heaven. I love you and I want you to be with me for all eternity. But you see, because of sin, we can’t go there. So God says, you cannot save yourself, You cannot earn your way to heaven. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. He came into the world because He loves us, hates our sin, because our sin separates us from Him. So what Christ did for one person, He did for everybody.

He took all the sin of all the world, patriot on the cross, came back from the dead. See when He took all the sins of the world, God did not spare His Son, but gave Him up. him die in our place because the sins of the world were placed upon him and he died. So that he could give to you and I the free gift of everlasting life. See we couldn’t earn it. That’s why he didn’t give it to us as a reward because we deserved it.

We didn’t deserve it. That’s why he gave it to us as a gift, totally free. And he says, I’ll never cast you out and I’ll never lose you. So once you trust Christ as your Savior, he puts this payment to your account and you have a payment for all of your sins. That’s why I can’t go to hell today or tomorrow and neither can you if you trust the Lord because he’s a You don’t have any sense to pay for.

He paid for all of ours. And all I had to do was believe it. And I get to go to heaven on what Christ did for me. Now once you trust Christ as your Savior and you’re His child and you’re going to heaven when you die, I understand that. You have a choice. You can be an obedient child or a disobedient child, but you’re still His child. If you’re an obedient child and you’ll learn to walk with your heavenly Father and obey Him, that’s a good child should.

think God said, I’m going to bless you here. Reward you when you get to heaven. But if you’re rebellious, you’re still his child. But see, he can’t send you to hell. But he may beat the Torah of you while you’re here. Maybe take you home before your time and you’ll suffer the loss of what you could have had. I don’t want the devil to laugh at God because of me. I don’t want the devil being able to point his finger at God and says, see that?

Look at that child of yours. He loves me and he loves this world more and he loves you. And you let your son die for him and he just spits in your face. You know, there’s a lot of God’s children to do just that. And when the Lord comes back, the Bible says abide in him means serve the Lord, abide in him that when he shall appear, We may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

Do you want to be ashamed when you finally get to meet the Lord? That ought not be like that. It ought to be that welcome into the joys of the Lord. And God will richly reward you for what you’ve done for Him. It will be worth it all. Let’s pray, shall we? They’re headbound, they’re behind clothes and no one looking around. I want to just talk to the Lord right now and say something simple like this. If you have never trusted Christ as your Savior, I want you to believe that God does love you.

He sent His Son and in didn’t spare Him. He let Him die for you. He let His Son die for you so that He could give you eternal life as a freak yet. But He gives that eternal life to those that believe it, that He did it for you. Would you believe it? Would you trust Him? I’m not going to have you forward, not going to embarrass you in any way. But if what I said made sense, and you say, preach it, that made sense to me, and I want to be certain of going to heaven when I die.

And right now I will accept Jesus Christ as my Savior. I’m going to trust Him to take me to heaven. If you’ve never done it before but you’ll do it right now. Would you just slip your hand very quickly and put a right back down? I’d like to know. I’d like to have prayer for you. It’s not going to embarrass you, not going to have you forward. And we’re not all before close. And we’re not all. If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, they’re God’s child.

As a child of God, it spares not. Does God right now need to chase in you? Does He need to chase in you? Because you won’t correct it yourself. Is there something in your life that needs to be dealt with? talk to the Lord. Do right. Father, we thank you so much for all you’ve done. Thank you for this time together.
