I got a few things I wanted to share with you. And I do enjoy listening to the old songs, the hymns, and the older you get, the more precious they seem to be to you. Some of them, they have a lot of theology to them and they’re pretty good. But this is a list of some that I think would help you as you get older. As you get older, you change a little bit. And so this is for those that are over 65.

If you’re 65 and older, these are songs that become more precious to us as we get older. me the old-timers religion. Now you’ve heard, did I say something wrong? Give me the old-timers religion. You’ve heard that song. It’s a wonderful song. Another one is called Precious Lord, Take My Hand. I’ve fallen and can’t get up. But the one that I really have appreciated, because it’s been about seven years now since I hit that lucky number. And that is just a slower walk with the…

You know, we can’t go as fast as we used to, but we can still go. And we can’t do all the things that we used to, but we can still do something. This is the one that I like too. So nobody knows the trouble I have seen. I knew you’d like that, Tom. Another one is called, guide me old, our great Jehovah. I’ve forgotten where my car is. I love it now. I got one of these sets of keys that if you come out of a restaurant and you don’t remember where you parked a car, you mash that little button and it sets off a siren like.

I didn’t know they had those things. That’s a miracle. They’re so helpful and beneficial. I’ve used it a number of times already. So I don’t even have to remember where I parked my car. I just have to remember to push that little button. And that helps since I started taking my memory pill. I forget to take it all the time. Another one is this, counter many birthdays, count them one by one. Now this is a song that I know that you know and you love it because it’s called Blessed Insurance.

You used to be blessed assurance, but as you get older you got to have what? Insurance, blessed us. You realize how rich we would be if we didn’t have insurance. Do you realize that Congress would have nothing to talk about? Just think, we spent six years talking about insurance and still nobody got it. Oh, this is a good one. It is well with my soul, but my knees hurt. I got out and I started walking last night, and I walked about a half a mile and I realized just above my ankle and my left leg, my shins started hurting.

And I thought, I’m only a half a mile, and my shins already hurting. I thought, now, do I turn around and go back? Or do I walk it out? How many think that I went back? Let me see your hands. How many think that I kept walking? Hummy, you don’t know and don’t care. Everyone didn’t know and didn’t care. You’re over 65. I Can’t walk in and it walked itself out after all after about a mile it didn’t it didn’t even hurt of course I didn’t know who I was and where I was and I was always told if you know where there’s no sense is no feeling so after while it happens that way I I missed a Sunday, so I got to make up for it.

I want to talk to you about something that deals with the communion service. You know there’s a song that we sing every month after we get through and if I come to the middle and hold hands and we sing that little song. Bless be the tide that binds, right? Don’t we sing that? Our hearts in Christian love, the fellowship of Kendra’s mind is like to that above. Is it really? Shouldn’t it be? I’ve had the privilege, I guess you would call it that, of marrying many people together in Holy Deadlock.

Wedlock. And as time has rolled on, it’s amazing how that two people have been joined together. That’s a union, union. Now unity is a different word altogether, isn’t it? Now sometimes we get married and have kids and wouldn’t it be nice to have a happy home where we’re not just joined together because of you know mother, dad, children but also in unity. We’re in agreement. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could always be like that. But lo and behold as time goes on and people notice this that not everybody is on the same page in the home.

So sometimes there’s disagreements. And so I just want to read this to you. I read it to them the other night, but it’s just one statement. I had a whole bunch, but, and this was given to me by a couple of ladies that he’d been able to do me. But there’s one statement here that I thought was choice. Because I would have never looked at it like this. It just shows you where a man comes from. Arguments. A woman has the last word in any argument.

Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument. Who said amen? So the women always get the last word in any argument and the next word the man says is the beginning of another one. Now that’s humorous. We laugh a little bit. But you’d be surprised how in a person’s mind might deem that as reality. So we sometimes want to know what does God want us to think? How are we supposed to handle all of these things?

I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of Ephesians in chapter 1. Now we’ve talked about some of these things in times past that in the book of Ephesians we have two main sections, two main divisions. chapter two, chapter three is doctrinal and it talks about our wealth, the wealth that we have in Christ. Chapter four, five, and six talks about our walk with Christ. So we have the wealth that we have in Christ and then we have the walk that we have in Christ.

So when you read those chapters, you’ll kind of see that as it’s broke down. And the main thing is, you know, beside each one of these main doors, there’s always a verse that has a key that unlocks this section and another verse that unlocks that section. Well, here in the first three chapters, the verse that unlocks these three chapters is verse three, where it says in chapter one, verse three, it makes the statement, blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who hath blessed us with our spiritual blessing, showing to us the wealth that we have.

And so it’s a key to let you know that this is what he’s going to talk about, our wealth, the riches that we have in Christ. And then when you get to the fourth chapter in verse one, there’s a little key right there to kind of open up those last three books letting us know that he’s talking about how that we are supposed to find our vocation, our walk that we have with the Lord. being a love slave of Christ, been prisoners of the Lord.

And so it talks about our walk, but it’s based upon that verse. And you feel notice in chapter four, where it makes a statement there in verse three, endeavoring to keep the, and here’s that word, unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace. So this is why we’re supposed to walk the way God wants us to walk and if we’ll live the way God wants us to live we will have more peace and joy and harmony. Whether as an individual, as a family, as a church.

Now you go back there to chapter one. You see, the first three chapters, God is telling us what He wants us to know. And in the last three chapters, He’s telling us what He wants us to do. So to know something before you do something. A lot of people run before they get the right message. Trying to figure that out on their own instead of slow down, take the time, let God teach you what He wants you to know.

God wants to teach you what you have to do and then you’ll know what you have to be. So these things are simply laid out in the Word of God. Now in that verse 3 of chapter 1, you’ll notice he talking about spiritual blessings. It’s how God sees us. Once you trusted Christ as your Savior, you have been given a new birth, spiritual birth born in the God’s family. So you look there in in verse 13. In verse 13 where he makes this statement, in whom he also trusted.

You see, this follows on the heels of the last few words in verse 12, where it says you have trusted in Christ. First, trust in Christ. That’s the thing that starts it all off. If you don’t trust Christ as Savior, you’re not in His family, and you’re not gonna get those blessings, you’re not gonna have those treasures, and their spiritual things that God has for his children. You and I in Christ are wealthy. We are wealthy, more wealthy than the richest man on earth that doesn’t know the Lord.

You can take all the people all over the earth, all of their wealth and if you’ve trusted Christ as Savior and only that you’re you have more wealth than all the people with all the wealth and all the world. You’re rich in Christ. God says so. Because see, this is all temporary. It’s all going to be burn up. But God has promised us some things. Now what I want you to see is in verse four. In verse four where he says, according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundations of the world, and as you go through here, you’ll find words like in Him, in Christ, in love.

Because see, it’s where we have been positioned, how God sees us. I was a child of the flesh, a child of the devil going to hell. Now I am a child of God. I’m in Christ. I’m going to heaven. And so he says that we are seated in the heavenlies in Christ because that’s where He is and I’m in Him. So that’s how secure I am, and that’s how secure you are. But in verse 4 when He makes the statement according as He have chosen us in Him and get this before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.

Now think about this. One of the greatest treasures any man can have is to be holy and to have love. That’s great wealth. Because being holy means that I am as righteous and perfect as God Himself. I’m going to heaven and because you cannot live forever unless you’re perfect. You have to be perfect. Otherwise everything is corruptible, the fate of the way. And God says just the opposite in 1 Peter chapter 1 and verse 4. So now we have trusted Christ our Savior and He makes this statement before the foundations of the world.

God has already predetermined something. He predetermined that those that are in Christ are going to be perfect and holy and spotless and without blame before Him in love. But God does not determine who gets in Christ. You and I are the one that decides, will I trust Christ as my Savior and be placed in Christ? Or will I not? That is my choice. So I decided a few years ago I would trust Christ as my Savior. of God placed into His family, placed into the family of God.

Now understand this, take your Bible and look there in Ephesians in chapter BaseType. Ephesians chapter 3 talks about in verse 5 of the whole family of God. See there in verse 15, I’ve hummed the whole family in Heaven. heaven and earth is named that He would grant you according to the get this riches of His glory. To be strengthened with might by His His inner man just for the opportunity, the privilege that God has given to us, not only to be His child, be in His family, going to heaven, but to be strengthened by the Holy Spirit in our life for the privilege to live in this world with the opportunity to show God how much we love him and to prove that we love one another by the things that we do for each other and to each other.

Had a lot to say there about that but I want you to go back here to Ephesians chapter 1. See in verse 5 he says, having predestinated us unto the adoption of children, God has predetermined before the foundations of the world to save all of those who will believe. And so when you believe, predestination is the security of every believer. See God before any man did any good or bad, right or wrong, before it was ever born. God had already determined that everyone who trust him as Savior will have eternal life, and he’ll never cast him out and never lose him.

And he’s already determined that all those who reject him as Savior will not have eternal life and will not get to go to heaven. But he turnedly separated from God. So predestination is an act of God. Four knowledge is an attribute of God. That’s what God knows. Just because God knows something doesn’t mean God did something. God knows a lot. He knows everything you’re going to do today and tomorrow doesn’t make you do it. But he already knows what you’re going to do.

But God has predetermined that all those who trust Christ as Savior are going to have this wonderful opportunity. This adoption into His family. Now see when I trusted Christ as Savior I was adopted into His family. But see I’m still waiting for the body to be redeemed. He didn’t save my soul but he didn’t do a thing with this body. He could have done a little bit maybe better. But your body is staying the same. Your body is still getting old.

You’re getting feeble. I know it doesn’t make you feel very good this morning. And one of the statements was also written on this piece of paper. They said, a man goes to bed and he wakes up the way he went. A woman goes to bed and deteriorates during the night. I don’t know where these things come from. But you and I need to understand that now that you are a child of God and you’re going to heaven, you’re in his family and God wants us to realize there’s things he wants us to be appreciative of because what you know is going to determine what you do and you need to understand just who you are and how rich you are in Christ.

So he makes the statement there in verse 6, to the praise of the glory of his grace. You see, this is why salvation cannot be by works. If it was by works, man gets the glory. So God says that he wants the glory, and therefore, as this verse says, to the praise of the glory of his grace, we can only say only by the grace of God are we accepted in the beloved. How did we get to be accepted by my good works?

No, but because he loved me. He made a payment for my sins and said that if I would believe he did it for me, he’d turn the life. He saved me by grace. I don’t deserve it. I didn’t earn it. I Rove it in the credit for it. And he wants all the honor and the praise and the glory. And that’s why that verses so important. LookingISTORY again. to the praise of the glory of His grace wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved.

We’re in in grace. That’s why when you get to chapter 2 and you read that wonderful verse that we all love Ephesians 2 8 and 9. Look in Ephesians 2 8 and 9 where He says, For by grace are ye saved and that not of yourself, For my grace are you saved through faith that not of yourself, it is the gift of God, not of works, iannopoulos any man should boast. But a lot of times we read those verses and we love those two verses.

And sometimes we forget about verse 10. But most times we forget about verse 7. Look at verse 7. That in the ages to come, he might show the exceeding riches of his grace. What did grace buy for us? What did Grace do for us? We will be the trophies of God’s grace. God wants to put you up. Look what my grace did for you. Do that. My grace did that. Your presence in the God a way of saying lookAri.

Lumia is a way of saying look what God did. Look at what his love produced. Look what his grace667 didliament else can do it. There is no other way. Oh, that’s a wonderful verse. Well, look at verse 7 of chapter 1 again, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. If God forgives me of all my sins, that’s eternal security because I can’t be condemned if all my sins are paid. And all my sins are paid.

That’s why He says in John chapter 5 and verse 24 that when we believe on Christ, He says from that moment on, He that heareth my word and believe it on Him that sent me hath everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation. It means I can never be condemned in the future, never condemned again because I have a payment for all of my sins. So as you go through these first three chapters, you’ll find there’s a lot of things God wants us to know.

So then he wants you to know this. Look there in chapter 3. In chapter 3, there’s something that he wants you to know there in verse 18, that you may be able, able to comprehend, understand, to know with all saints, because God wants every saint to know the same thing. Because what he did for one, he did for everybody. Everybody will save the same way and everybody becomes a child of God and every child of God gets the Holy Spirit.

And he says, maybe able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth and the length and the depth and the height and to know to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge that you might be filled with all the fullness of God, that you may be able in verse 20 to understand that he is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask her a thing according to the power that worked within us unto him be glory in the church.

And there’s more glory in the church when the church, the people, unto the Lord. So then you chab chapter four, five, and six. You see, once you know what God wants you to know, then it is the will of God. You do what He tells you to do. And based upon who we are and what we have in Christ, now we are free to serve God. This is why Paul says in verse one, he says, I amnatureconservancy I’m a prisoner, I love slave of the Lord.

And look what he says there in verse one, I therefore the prisoner of the Lord beseech you that you are worthy. Now we’re talking about how you walk, how you’re going to live your life of the vocation, the calling where with you are called revolving to you know, to ][ RELE, more like, more like obscurityCHAPTER, more like moreBUT, moreXXX puzz, levision, more like more like more like more like more like more like more like more like more own, we have unity, but lo and behold, we’re still living here with the 0004 But wouldn’t it be great if we could live here the way God says you’re going to live there?

So He gives us some things to think about and the unity that we,, so it kind of nails it a little bit here. I want you to see this. So all these things that we do, as he says in verse three, endeavoring. In other words, this is the purpose. This is the goal. This is what you’re after. Endevern to keep the unity of the spirit and the bond of peace. We should want to be peacemakers, not troublemakers, as much as possible, as much as life within you seek to be peaceful, as much harmonies you possibly can have.

And that’s why he says in verse four, Notice all these things about the one, one, one, one, one, one, one, one, it means unity. And verse 4, one body, one spirit, one hope of your calling, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and father of us all who is above all and through all and in you all. And then he said here that every one of us individually have been given, yes, the Holy Spirit, to do what God wants us to do with our lives.

And so as we read these things and we find out what God wants us to do, let each one of us know that God has a purpose and a job for each one of// us to do. And he makes his statement that he’s given us his thing to do. So look down there now in verse 12. And verse 12 says, for the perfecting of the saints for the work of the ministry. So God says each one of us we have a ministry.

Now not everyone of God’s children perform their ministry. Not everybody does what they’re supposed to do. That’ll be heaven when we get to heaven when everybody does everything right. Here we don’t always do everything right. We say things we shouldn’t say, we cause trouble. It’s kind of like this. Here’s a mother and father. They have in a fight. God just going at it. And the kids are watching. And when you get through, you’ve got to try to tell the kids, you, you know, whoHouston wasabwe.

And so the, ruth, the daddy says, come here son. Now you just saw us have a fight didn’t you? Yes, daddy, I did. It was all your mother’s fault. And the mother says, come here son. It was all your daddy’s fault. Now is that really going to help the kid? That caused him to try to fight now, 529, who’s wrong? Do we ever do thispsc, we don’t ever do stuff like that. Remember that there’s always this issue of whatever we do.

TextColor we either accept the blame for what we do as an individual or we shift the blame onto somebody else. Individually, always own up to what you are responsible for. Every daddy ought to do this, every mother ought to do this and be responsible for your own action. The Bible talks about render not evil for evil. You aye, he did that to me. Well, that’s because You only really not kicked you in the stomach because you turned around. So you know, you got to blame somebody.

You know that started back in the garden, didn’t it? Adam didn’t take responsibility. It was that woman you made. And the woman that was a serpent. And people don’t want to take responsibility for what they do. And it causes this unity. Hello, this is Peter Amato from Bibleline.
