Generally when you have a question in a particular chapter, if you keep looking in that book, time that’ll be answered in the same book. So take your Bible look here in chapter 7, John chapter 7, and you’ll notice there in verse 37, verse 37. And this is what it says in the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood in Christ and if any man, what? First, let him come into me and drink. And then verse 38 tells me, what do you come?

He that believeth on me as the scripture have said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. This is that everlasting life. This is that spring of everlasting life. So whenever I talk to somebody, I can share my water with whoever. God has like put within us this treasure in earthen vessels, the gospel, the greatest news in all the world. world. And so every Christian carries within him a spring of living water. Did you know that? It’s not someplace else.

It’s within you. You have within you that which can satisfy the next person and the next person and the next one. And the thing that’s good about it is you never run out. You never run out of this living water because it’s forever being built up inside of you. It’s a spring of life, a spring keeps coming up so you have eternal life and just because I let somebody to the Lord yesterday, do you know what? I still got some more water left.

And I can talk to this person and share it with them. They didn’t get all of it, but they got some and I got some to share to this person and some to share with this person and some to share with somebody else. So you can keep on sharing the gospel because you’ll never run out. The good news is still good news. I’ve been sharing this good news for almost, well, 54 and a half years. Now look in verse 30, but this space of the Spirit which they that believe on Him should what?

Should receive. And you’ll notice He says, because the Holy Spirit had not yet been given. Nobody’s received the Holy Spirit yet. But now go back to John chapter 4. So you know what the living water is, the Holy Spirit living within you. He gives you this eternal life. It lasts forever and ever and ever and ever. And notice what he says in verse 15. The whole one said under him, Sir, give me this water that I thirst not, neither came hither to draw.

In other words, I wasn’t looking for this, but now that you’ve told me about it, I want some. You will find there are some people that are searching and will come to you. Remember, Nicodemus came to Christ. This woman, Christ, went to her. There’ll be times when you’ll have people that will come to you, and there’ll be times when you have to go to them. But either way, you have something of great value. The knowledge you have of eternal life, of going to heaven, is something that most people have never really heard or understood.

Now last Friday night, Louis, how many of y’all have, trust the Lord Friday night? 52. So those that went had some living water, and they went and shared some of that living water with people, And if they ever take a drink of it… They drink it, what do they have? They have a spring of living water inside of them. Now they can share that with somebody else. Now many people will know it and they cap off this spring of living water and they never let it flow.

They’ll never let the Lord use them. They can talk a good talk and have a good walk, but they don’t share the gospel. And that’s why it’s so important. And you’d be surprised at things that could be done in your life. And how wonderful it is. Now look back here in the book. verse 16. Jesus said unto her, go, call thy husband and come hither. Go and get your husband. Now do you think he understood her home situation? Did he already know that she’d been married five times and was living with a man that wasn’t her husband?

Was what he says. In verse 17, the woman answered and says, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, thou hath well said I have no husband, for thou hath had five husbands and he whom thou now hath is not thy husband, in that saith thou truly.” In other words, she told the truth. You have no husband. You’ve had five, but you don’t have one now. The woman said, I perceive you must be a prophet. Jesus knows everything about everybody.

And so the man who came to him, the Pharisee, the a self righteous individual, he needed to get saved just like a woman that needs to be saved. And maybe that’s why she came alone to the well at high noon, because most of the other women wouldn’t be there at that time. But whatever. Look here in verse 20, our fathers worshiped in this mountain. And you say that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. Jesus said unto her, woman, believe me.

The hour cometh when ye shall neither in this mountain nor yet at Jerusalem worship the Father. Ye worship, ye know not what? In other words, she has her own religion. She got a religion. She said, ye worship, ye know not what? You don’t know what you’re worshiping. Do you think there’s a lot of people that go into the motions and have not a clue what they’re doing. And then he says this, we know what we worship, salvation is of the Jews.

Because see, God was coming to the nation of Israel and having a son born that would be the Savior of the world. Now you notice he talks about her and her religion, but saying that salvation is of the Jews, talking about him himself. He was the Messiah. Now if you look there in chapter 4 but look over there very quickly we’ll just kind of throw this in here right quick. Look in verse 42 where it says and now we believe and he said unto the woman now we believe not because of thy saying but we have heard him ourselves and know that this is indeed the Christ the savior of the Jews only.

No, savior of the world. So it came from the Jewish nation, but the salvation, the saving, the water is for everybody in the whole world. But remember, regardless of how a man thinks about salvation and Christ dying and paying for sin and all that, you may have a lot of questions, but understand this. Nobody is automatically saved, just because I’m saved didn’t mean my children were saved. Everybody has to be saved individually. Nobody can get saved for anybody else.

It’s a personal thing. So if that is true, he lays it down and says, who so ever believe it and who so ever does not believe. So if you believe you have it, if you don’t believe you don’t, forget all the other stuff. Either you’re trusting Christ or you’re not and it’s your choice. Go back there to chapter 3 and look in verse 36. Now if you don’t have verse 36 underlined in your Bible, I would underline it. It is a great verse to show to a person.

In verse 36 of John chapter 3, he that believeth on the Son hath what ever lasting life. half. Present tense right now. Half everlasting life. Now a lot of time we use John 647 but it’s a good verse. It’s awesome. It says the same thing but look at this one has the last part of it and he that believe if not the son shall not see life but the wrath of God abideth on him. So belief or not belief?

That’s the only thing, the only criteria God uses. Do you believe that what Jesus says is the truth? And will you trust Him as your Savior? If you do, you have eternal life. If you don’t… You don’t have eternal life. And so some people want to argue about a thousand one thing. Forget all of that. Bullen down to this. Are you trusting Christ or not? Don’t even worry about whether I don’t know if I was chose or I don’t know if I was really elected and I don’t know.

Stop all that junk. Will you believe it or not? If you want to believe it, believe it. And if you believe it, what do you have? Eternal life. Well, I don’t know if he paid for all of my sins or part of my sins or am I automatically saved? Forget all of that. You’re saved if you believe it. You’re not saved if you don’t. Isn’t that clear? So simple. And the reason most people don’t, or not good so is because they complicate it.

They talk too much. Say too much. Instead of just, if you knew the gift of God and who it is that said to me, give me the drink, he would have asked and he would have given. You just simply believe it and you got it. You got it? You got it. Best news in all the world. All right now go back here and look at this. It makes a statement here in verse 24. God is a spirit and he says you had to have a spiritual born again.

That word born again means born from above. That’s why our citizenship is considered to be in heaven. This why we say this world is not my home. My birth is from heaven, believe it or not, in God’s eyes, because I was born of God. My citizenship is there. That’s where I belong. One day he’s going to take me back to my home. But see I have, I’m a pilgrim and a stranger. That doesn’t mean you’re supposed to be a pill or strange, but you’re a pilgrim and a stranger.

A stranger means that you’re away from home. And pilgrim means I’m on my way home. So I’m away from home, but I’m on my way home. And look what he says here in verse 24. The woman said unto him, I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ. When He has come, He will tell us of all things. And so she goes into the city and she says, come and see a man that told me everything that ever I did.

Now that’s the woman for you. She exaggerates just a little bit. And you only told her about one thing and she exaggerates. You know, I heard this. This is just a new statistic. I don’t know if I should repeat this or not. But it’s just what I heard. Somebody says I shouldn’t. Huh? Well it It goes like this, that it’s a new statistic that’s come out, that women just that are just a little bit overweight. Outlive the men who mention it.

All the women say, hey man, hey man, all right. We’ll move right along here. So in John chapter 4, it says, it’s not this the Christ and he was the Lord. So they see there in verse 29, come see a man. The woman left her place there and she went into the city and told the men. I don’t know what happened to the women, but she said to the men, come and see a man which told me all that ever I did is not this the Christ.

Then they went out of the city and came unto him. And the mean while his disciples asked him to say, Master eat, but he said to them, I have and meet to eat that you know not of. In other words, I got something that satisfies better than anything. And now they were thinking about eating real food. And he relates that to look, there’s something more important than food, something that satisfies better. And so they wanna know it in verse 33.

Has any man brought him something to eat? Verse 34, Jesus said to them, my meat is to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work. you will never find anything as satisfying for eternity’s sake as sharing the gospel. Because there’s people that will go to heaven because of what you did. And it doesn’t seem as important right now. It never does. People that I’ve led to the Lord just kind of like off the cuff didn’t think much about it.

And sometimes you think, I don’t know if they even got it. But you did it and they said they believe it. And then you don’t see them for 30, 40 years. And then lo and behold, they tell you, well, that day I trusted Christ my Savior because, you know, Yank He talked to me. And that was just in passing. You know, I didn’t take two, three minutes and somebody trusts the Lord. You say, you can’t. You can. I’ve lived long enough to see the results of the people that trusted the Lord, and they believed it.

So simple, so quickly, so easy. Sometimes we try to make it so hard and complicated that we cloud their mind, and that’s why some people go to church, and they have to go for six months before they finally got it. I finally got it. I would like it that when a person comes to our church for the first time, never heard it before in their life, that before they leave they will hear understanding how to go to heaven. and I want them to trust Christ as Savior.

You understand what I’m saying? When did you trust the Lord? I don’t even know. The first time he came here. So, but there’s people that do, but you never know who’s going to trust the Lord. The first time that I had a Tim King who came in the north side, he said there, he listened to me, trust the Christ as Savior. Now he’s there, he had deacon up there, the church in Georgia. He brought a little load of kids down for camp and so forth and they’ve been to camp.

I think you’ve been over here once, but I can’t remember. And same thing with John John. John John came out in first, someone here saw me do that wallet illustration. But now we hear about John John John John John John. Yep, but those times that the first time they heard, it makes a difference. So you can’t say, well, it doesn’t. It does. I’ve got testimonies of people that they hear it and they understand it and they believe it. So that’s something that will satisfy Because you know that it’s a decision that changes a person’s destiny, somebody that’s not going to go to hell.

They can’t go to hell and you made the difference. This is why it’s so important. But anyway, look there in verse 35. Now this is where you need to understand God is looking for soul winners. God is looking for people and He will pay wages. Did you believe that? The Lord will pay wages for people who will win people to Christ. So he says in verse 35, say not you there yet for months and then come of harvest. In the word, I think next year I’m going to start going so with it.

Well, the harvest is already ready. It’s ready now. There’s people now. Now you may get some because they come to you like Nicodemus. There may be others. You may have to go to them. They went to the state fair, is that where y’all went? So they went to them. Sometimes we have them walking off the street. So when they come here, then we can reach them. And we go out by the internet and maybe some people hear the gospel and they’ll trust Christ as their Savior.

And know they have eternal. You know that 95% of the time, I forget all about that little red light up there and forget about their people that outside of this church are listen, everything that I’m saying. But I was riding in the car yesterday and I looked up at my phone going, so I checked it to see what was on it. Somebody trusts the Lord on watching the YouTube video. Because I get a click, it comes to me. And it’ll even tell me the sermon that they trust the Lord watching.

Jesse has it set up that if they’re watching a particular sermon and one of them trusts the Lord because of the sermon that I preached last Sunday on alcohol. Somebody listen to that sermon, trust the Lord. So, but I had on a bunch of the sermons. And so, every just about every day, there seemed like there’s somebody at trust the Lord. And while I’m sleeping, we’re given the gospel out. But see, it’s all the people that support the ministry, it’s the words going out.

And it’s a wonderful thing. But look what he says here. Lift up your eyes, look on the fields. They are white already to harvest. and get verse 36, he that reapeth, receiveth what? That’s the person who goes, sows, reaps, receive wages. Now these wages may be, you know, of rewards in heaven or whatever, but God it says he’s going to pay wages. Now if I was to offer you a thousand dollars for every person you led to Christ. Would you feel the desire, maybe God’s calling me to be a full time soul winner?

If you got a thousand dollars for every person you led to Christ, we know inflation may have to go to five thousand. But you’d be surprised what is God going to pay you? I don’t know. And does He pay me now or is He going to pay me later? We all say there’s payday coming, payday’s coming. Our payday isn’t down here. This is where we do the sowing and the reaping and we’re going to reap it later. And God says that He is going to pay the wages for people who sow the seed and do the work.

And the Bible also says it would be a sin for God to forget your work and labor of love because you love the Lord and you love the gospel and you love the loss and you labor for that reason, it would be a sin for God not to take care of you and to reward you for doing so. The greatest thing you can ever do is learn and how to best you know how to show the gospel. If you know enough to answer to yourself.

If I asked you, where are you going to that? You said, I’m going to heaven. I said, how do you know? And you said, we call that trust, the crisis of my Savior. Then you know enough to tell. You know enough to tell. If what you know is enough for you to be saved and have you turn life in, know that you’re going to heaven, you know enough to tell. You have already got enough to share. Don’t say, well, I have to learn the whole Bible first.

No, you don’t. I got to study Hebrew and the Greek. No, you don’t. I got to memorize a thousand verses. No, you don’t. All you have to do is just have a little courage and trust the Lord. And as Paul says, in fear and trembling. And that’s about the way most time it is. Because you don’t know how they’re going to respond. And nobody likes rejection. That’s one of the hardest things. We’re afraid because we don’t like to be rejected.

Somebody tell us, no. Or tell us where to go. I’ve had just about everything said. But keep that in mind. Look what he says down here in verse. Paul 37, and here in is that saying true, one soeth and another reapeth. I sent you to reap that we’re on you bestowed no labor, other men labored and ye are entered into their labors. Did you know that sometimes you picked the fruit that somebody else sowed and planted, somebody’s come along and they watered and you come along and they’re just like right fruit ready to just drop off the tree?

Look what I did, how great I am. Yeah, but wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You don’t know what all went into the how many people have made this possible. And every man’s gonna be rewarded according to his own labor, his own word. And it takes more than just one person to do it. You may witness to somebody today and they say no, but you plan to the seed. Next thing you know, somebody comes along and they pick the fruit.

So that ain’t right. Look, you get rewarded for your fate. you just be faithful to do what you can do. You can’t make the person believe. But God says there’s a satisfaction that comes by, you know, get one here and get one there. Did you know the Lord was able to talk to the masses? I mean, they came from everywhere they hear him. Five thousand at one time. And that’s just the men. I don’t know how many your women and children, but I mean a lot of people.

And yet, he didn’t put himself above just talking to that one man one night or that one woman at the well. Some people, they can’t see the individuals because of the forest. And then you sometimes, you can’t see the forest for the tree. You’ve got to sometimes back up a little bit and you look and see there’s so many people. But if God wants to use me to reach those multitudes out there, I’m willing. Yeah, but are you willing to reach that one little kid that came across your path or that one person at the restaurant or give a tract to somebody at the service station?

Don’t forget the one on one, that one little person that you think God couldn’t care about. Some hobo walking the streets, some men in the gutter, some old drunk staggering and stuff like that. How many times I come out of the restaurant and I’ll see somebody and I’ll give him a track and sometime I’ll give him a couple dollars or something like that. But every individual, God loves that person just as much as he loves that man that runs the bank or that lawyer with his three-piece suit on.

There should be nobody. The Bible says that God is not a respecter of persons and neither should we be. We should look at everybody that’s a soul for whom Christ died. in regards to how they’re dressed or how they act, God loves them. Now, either we believe that or we don’t believe that. And I believe it. Look up here. I know this is something y’all have seen before, but you can see it one more time. Let this hand represent you and me.

And the wallet represents a whole of our sins. God says that he loves us. Now he hates our sin, but he loves us. And I’m so glad of that. God loves me. But he doesn’t like what I do wrong. Doesn’t like what you do wrong. And to pay for sin is eternal separation from God in a place called hell. I want people to know there is a place called hell, but God loves us and wants us to go to heaven.

And to go to heaven we have to be perfect as righteous as God. And God says nobody’s perfect, nobody’s righteous. Because of sin, see we can’t get in. So God says you cannot earn eternal life. You can’t work your way to heaven. It’s not by your good deeds. You see, you don’t have to join a church to go to heaven. You don’t have to give money to go to heaven unless you gave it here. No, that’s not true. You don’t have to give money to go to heaven.

There’s nothing you can do by your good deeds that will get you into heaven. This hand represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God and the flesh. He came into the world because he loves us. He hates our sin because it separates us from him. So Jesus Christ who had no sin. Didn’t have to die. But because he loved us and hates our sin, he took it, paid for it on the cross, came back from the dead and said that if you and I, if we would believe it, he did it for us.

He would put this payment to our account and we get to go to heaven on what Jesus Christ did for us. Now that’s the best news in all the world. If I offered you my wallet and you accepted having empty wallet, I offered you my watch and you accepted, you know what time it is. If Christ walked in here right now and offered you eternal life and you accepted you would have, eternal life. And if it’s eternal life, it would last forever.

And if it lasts forever and all you send are paid, where would you go when you die? To heaven. So can you know you’re going to heaven before you die? Yeah, boy, that’s the best news in all the world. Let’s pray, shall we? With heads by a night, close, no one looking around. If you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your Savior, friend, I can’t think of a better time than right now. You don’t have a guarantee that tomorrow will will ever come.

But why not right now? In the quietness of this moment, just between you and the Lord, what? Just talk to the Lord and say something like this, Lord, I know I’m a sinner. I’ve done things wrong, but I know you love me. And you sent your son Jesus Christ to die to pay for all my sins. And I believe he did it for me. And I’m going to trust him right now to take me to heaven whenever I die.

And friend, God said, if you would believe that he did it for you, he’d put that payment to your account and you get to go to heaven on what Christ did for you. Would you believe that? If you’re making that decision, I’d like to have prayer for you. I’m not gonna ask you to stand up. I’m not gonna embarrass you. I’m not gonna ask you to come forward or anything like that. I don’t want anything from you. I just want you to receive the free gift of eternal life.

And I’d like to know it because I’d like to have prayer for you. And I do it with hedge files so that you’re not put on the spot. Is there anyone at all this morning say yes, preacher that made sense to me. I want to be certain of the one to heaven when I die and I’d like for you to pray for me in closing. Would you just slip your hand very quickly and put it right back down? If you’ve never done before, but you’ll do it right now.

Just slip it up real quick. You want it all. Yes, God bless you, sir. God bless you. Anyone else, you can slip your hand up very quickly, but right back down. There’s no gimmicks to this, no tricks to it. I won’t probably know your name. I just want to know that what I said made sense to you. Anyone else before we close? Our Father, we thank You so much for all You’ve done for us. We’re thankful for the free gift of eternal life.

We ask Your blessings upon the individual indicated by unuplisted hand that they will trust You as Savior. By doing so, they become Your child, and You’ll never cast them out, never lose them. And the Father, because of all that you’ve done for us, we’re to let the redeemed of the Lord say so. Lord, we want to be used so that others can hear the gospel.
