Just because you desire something, don’t make it right. You may be married and desire another woman that’s still wrong. wrong just because you desire doesn’t mean, okay, it’s okay to do it because we love each other. No, you promise to honor and obey this one to the day you die, then keep your word. And do right. You maybe can’t go back and correct anything, but from day on, do all the right you know to do. Otherwise, in your mind, it’ll work on your conscience.
You’ve got to try to change something. And there’s a great danger in changing what God says. adding to what God says that God said and say that. Just let God do the talking. Let just us do the listening. And you’d be surprised how it will help you. Take your Bible and turn to the book of Revelation. The book of Revelation. Revelation chapter 20. Revelation chapter 20. The Bible says that the next thing to happen according to God’s timetable, it’s for the rapture to take place.
Means that Jesus Christ will come back in the air. And you and I that are living at this time, I included us in that. I forget that’s what it’s going to be. And all of a sudden in a moment in the twinkling of an eye will be changed, caught up to meet the Lord in the air. And the Bible says, so shall we ever be with the Lord, or if we’re comfort one another with these words. So one day he’s going to come, ready or not, ready or ready or not, you’re going.
Doesn’t matter where you are and what you’re doing, surprise, surprise, you’re out of here. And you will be with the Lord. We’ll go to the judgments of the Christ where God says that he’s going to reward us for what we’ve done for him. Then there will be the marriage supper of the lamb. You see we’re the bride and we’re going up to the Genesis of Christ to get dressed. And then we’re going to go to the Mary’s Supper. And then the Bible says we’re coming back to this earth to rule and reign with Christ for a thousand years.
Then after that there’ll be a great white throne judgment and then a new heavens and a new earth. But you see after Christ comes and takes us out of here, there’ll be seven years upon this earth that will be the worst part of time the world has ever known. I mean, the world is going to collapse, but it’s looking for a superman that may have all the answers and lo and behold, he will come preaching a lie because they would not believe the truth, they’ll believe the lie.
And the Bible says that they could have been saved, but they rebelled and they rejected the Lord. And so the tribulation period is a terrible, terrible time that’s coming. I pray that the Lord may take us out of here very soon because things are beginning to look pretty dark around the old world and you can be a little down in discouraged but that’s why at the end of all of my radio broadcasts is keep looking up just keep looking up one of these days is going to happen.
So in chapter 20 the Bible says that when Christ comes back there will be this battle of Armageddon and then there will be an angel that is going to take the devil and cast him into a pit. You see there in verse 1, and I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the kid the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon that old serpent, which is the devil and Satan and bound him a thousand years, cast him into the bottomless pit, shut him up, set a seal upon him that he should deceive the nations no more.
Till a thousand years should be fulfilled, and after that he must be loosed a little season. . . . . . . . . For a short period of time. So he says in verse four, and I saw thrones and they sat upon them and judgment was given to them and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus and for the word of God, which had not worshiped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their forehead and in their hands and they lived in rain with Christ 1000 years.
See we’re already up there. Now he’s referring to those who were killed in the tribulation period. And so the Bible says they’ve been martyred and Christ comes back. There’s gonna be a resurrection of those dead bodies of his saints. It’s called the first resurrection in which the second resurrection is for the lost people and There’s no power in the second resurrection. They are not saved people You and I we are part of that first resurrection We are our bodies will be raised and those that are alive will be changed.
When the rapture takes place they come back, resurrection of the bodies and we all go to be with the Lord. Now there’s phases of the first resurrection just like there’s phases of the second coming. The first phase is the rapture, the second phase is the revelation. So God has laid out what’s going to take place. And he says, now, doing this thousand years, he has a word here, one little word. That’s very important. I want you to see it.
It just mentioned three times here in the next couple of verses or the couple chapters. And I wanted you to see this. So you see there in verse five, but the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection. That word part, part in the first resurrection. It means this is something that you have a right to because there are what we call sometimes salvation blessings.
In other words, when you trusted Christ as your Savior, God not only has blessed you with the free gift of eternal life. He has blessed you in a lot of ways and that He made you His child and He blessed you with the Holy Spirit. He put you into His family and He’s going to let you stand at the jubbiness of Christ gives us the privilege of serving Him. We may not but you still got that opportunity. He has rewards that He could give to you but you may not earn them.
And the thing salvation going to heaven is free. But what you have when you get there depends on what you do for him. And to realize that just because you are his child, you have become an heir of God and joint heirs with Christ. And God is going to give you things. You’re going to see things. I have not seen, ear have not heard, neither have entered into the heart of man the things with God has prepared for them to love him.
So there’s all kinds of blessings that comes because you’re a saved individual. When you step up Christ is your Savior. You’re going to live with the Lord for all eternity. You’re going to be in a place called the Holy City with the Lord forever and ever and ever. And the Bible talks about the pleasure that we’re going to have. It’s going to be such a wonderful thing and there’ll be no more sorrow and sin and sickness and disease and all these things that are bad because you see There’s no sin there because see there’s sin here.
This is an evil world. So God has done some things to save us and deliver us from this present evil world. God has a better world waiting for us. And so we came into this world and He’s going to take us out of this world. And where He takes us is because we accept the crisis, our Savior, while we’re in this world. So now as a saved individual, I can claim certain things because I’m his child. I have rights to certain things.
But you see the lost man, when Christ died on the cross for the lost man, wasn’t that payment that Christ made also made for him? Wasn’t that payment made for the lost man? Even that person that rejects the Lord didn’t Christ still die for him? Didn’t God still make it possible for that lost man to have he turned a life? So when God offered he turned a life, he offered to everybody it was offered to everyone to live in the holy city was also for the lost everybody.
He made all of that this whole new world for everybody. But there are some people that are not going to have a part in that because they did not believe their opportunity to have a part in all of that. To have a part is like an opportunity and they’re going to forfeit that opportunity and it’ll never be real to them. Because we took advantage of an opportunity. Somebody told us about the Lord and we believe it. We’ve opened up a whole new world for us.
The Lord did that because he so loved us. And so when he says here in verse six, blessed and holy is he that had part in the first resurrection. Because they get to live with the Lord here for a thousand years, not because of any great thing they did, just because they’re part of this salvation blessing. They’re being blessed because they trusted Christ as their Savior. Now, there’s another verse here, looking at 21 and verse 8.
Revelation 21 and looking at verse 8. He said, but the fearful and the unbelieving and the abominable and the murderers and the hormongers and the sorcerers and idolaters and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is second death. The second death is all of those whose names were not found written in the Lamb’s book of life. So that’s why those in the second death, they did not come in the second resurrection because that was for those in the first resurrection to live and reign with Christ for a thousand years.
And think about all those people that rebelled against the Lord and said, no, they would not trust them as Savior. Now to have to stand at the great white throne judgment, and the Bible says, in verse 15 of chapter 20, he says, and whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. You see, verse 14 says, this is the second death. So over here in verse eight we’re talking about those that are going into this second death.
You see they died and were separated from God or from their body. Now it’s going to be separated from God for all eternity. So that’s why I call a second death. So if you’re born once, you’ll die twice. But if you’re born twice, you only die once. Now notice. So when he says you’re in verse 8, he says, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone. This is where they’re going to go. This is because of an opportunity they had to escape it, but they did not take advantage of that opportunity.
Now look what they’ve got now. It’s like the word, and all three of these words that we’re going to look at, all of them say exactly the same thing in the Greek. There’s about seven or eight different Greek words, explain what the word part is. It could be the end of it, part of the end, and so forth, and well quantity, and so forth, whether it’s fuel, whether it’s much, great part. But when you talk about this having a part in the lake of fire means there’s something that’s saved for them, something that they’re going to get.
This is what’s going to happen to them. And if you notice, you say, well, what is sin? So people who do all those bad things, this is where they get to go. When you were born in this world with that old sinful nature, some people don’t like to believe they’re a sinner. But if you tell them this is what sin is, so is unbelieving a sin, they believe what God says. So if they don’t believe it. And there’s things that they do.
Murder, hormone, or source of idolatry, all liars. You see Revelation 21, 27 says, the holy city wearing duality of righteousness, not even a lie can enter into that because it’s the perfect place. So all liars, well what you’re talking about is all sinners who never trusted Christ as their savior. are going to have their part in the lake of fire. Now take your Bible and look their next chapter. Revelation chapter 22. Revelation chapter 22. You notice that even though this is a letter that goes to the churches, the seven churches, toward the end of the book he once again talks to the the churches.
And also there to remember because it goes to all seven of those churches and reminds them, Behold, I come quickly. See there in verse 12, Behold, I come quickly. Now it’s been almost 2000 years, but quickly, I guess, maybe a little bit different from what you and I view as what God views. When you’re the eternal I am, how long is 2000 years? You can’t even put it in there. But it says, my reward is with me. Now rewards means you didn’t get that as a gift.
Salvation is free. Rewards are earned. So he says, I’m coming back. I’ve told you a lot of stuff. remember what I said and there’s blessings just for reading and understanding and doing what I tell you to do. So he says my reward is with me to give every man according to his work shall be. Now those that are lost already been dealt with but this is a warning in the end of time isn’t over yet. So he says I am alpha and omega the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Just like you’re reading Revelation chapter 1 says the same thing. Blessed are they that do His commandments that they may have right to the tree of life. They may enter into the gates into the city for without our dogs and sorcerers and hormongers, murders and idolators and whosoever loveth and make of the life. So there’s a separation, great separation. The righteous will not be with the unrighteous and The unrighteous will not be with the righteous. Is another world coming?
Only the righteous will be in it. A great golf, but a great division. And when you die, as you die, that’s the way you will be for eternity, saved or lost. That’s why he says down here in verse 11 of chapter 22, when you die, he that is unjust, and be unjust to you, for how long? Forever. And he which is filthy, let him be filthy still. And he that is righteous, let him be righteous still. He that’s holy, let him be holy still.
So you see, there’s a difference between the holy and the unholy and the righteous and the unright. And when you die, because some people will not believe the Bible, that’s why I always like that. Do you believe the Bible? Well, this is what the Bible says. Nobody can make you believe it. But when you die, if you have not trusted Christ as your Savior, you will be lost, undone, unjust, filthy forever. You really like to live the way you are right now, forever and ever and ever.
With those that are just like that, though you may never see them, because the Bible pictures hell is a place of darkness, wandering stars in the midst of darkness forever and ever. And so he says here in verse 16, as a plea, as a plea. He said, I, Jesus, have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root in the offspring of David and the bride and morning star and the spirit and the bride say come.
That’s an invitation. These are invitations to the lost. not an invitation to the believer. The church is getting tiny. Would you believe? Would you believe? And he says, the Spirit, the Holy Spirit, purposed in the world, working through his people as we give the gospel, would you come to Christ? Would you trust him? Would you believe him? Let him that hearth say, come, let him that is a thirst, come, and whosoever will, let him take the water of life.
How? Freely. See salvation is free. It’s free. For I testify unto every man that hears the words of this book, or the prophecy of this book. If any man shall add to these things, God shall add unto him the plays that are written in this book. Now remember, there’s people who are not going to believe. There’s a good possibility, verse 18 and verse 19 is still a reference to the lost and not to the believer. And let’s just pretend that it’s still talking to the lost man because there’s people that are not going to believe and when the raptor takes place and we’re out of here they will be here doing the tribulation and the plagues that are written in this book is going to come upon them.
It’s like a prophecy but also So there’s more I believe than just that. So he says, if any man shall add unto these things, see there’s people who can’t just believe what God says and so because of unbelief, they add to it. Think of this. Did God say that salvation was the gift of God? Did he say that it was by grace through faith and not of your works? Didn’t know what God said? So when people add to that, it means they don’t believe what it does say.
So you add to what God’s word says. And then there’s some people that take it away from what the Word of God says. So whether you add to it or you try to take it away from it. And so that does not not true. That’s not true. And you try to pick the Word of God apart as though you’re so brilliant. intellectual. You can take the word of God and decide what’s good and bad. And so we don’t need that in the Bible.
We don’t need that in the Bible. And some higher critics stands in a place of authority. So I know it all. God have mercy on them. Now look what he says in verse 19. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life and out of the holy city and from the things which are written in this book. Now we know that when you trust Christ as your Savior, your name’s written in the Land’s Book of Life can never be blotted out.
But is it possible, was it possible, was it true that every lost man could have their names written in the Land’s Book of Life? Couldn’t they also have a place in heaven if they do one thing? When God made that that pamer on the cross, didn’t he make it available for everybody? Didn’t he make heaven available for everybody? I think it was for everybody. And so whenever you reject what God says, indeed, don’t believe what God says, then you have shut out all your opportunities.
You had an opportunity to have eternal life, to be a child of God and to go to heaven, and you wouldn’t believe it. You could have had your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Now all of your opportunities are gone. You see when a man dies, up to that point he has all the opportunity in the world to trust the Lord to receive eternal life, name the Lamb’s Book of Life. But when he dies and he’s unjust, it’s all opportunities are gone for all eternity.
I think that’s a shame. And think of how many people have never really trusted Christ to save you because they just can’t believe it’s, well it’s just too simple. It’s too easy. What would you want? Hard believe is him? God make it hard for me. See he did the hard part. He did all the work. He did all the work that was needed for me to go to heaven. He came and lived a perfect life because I couldn’t. He died on that cross and paid for all of my sins.
He did that for me. And he was buried and came back again from the dead. He did all that for me. I didn’t have to do anything. All he wanted me to do was believe it. If I would believe it, I would have eternal life as a gift. And I would get to go to heaven on what Christ did on the cross for me. Don’t that make sense? I hope that it does. You know, one of these days we’re all going to run out of time.
One of these days, I hope I get to hear a trumpet. You know, I did that one night in the ranch meeting. I had a friend, Mike Jackson, sitting in the back, hiding behind the counter. He played the trumpet. We had all these teenagers in there. And I had just had a little man come up there and we had an electric chair. But it was us pretend to make an electric chair. And so I hooked it up and made it look like it was real.
And I would say something. And if the little man told a lie, then it would shock him. So he was designed to, everything I said, it would going to be a lie. I don’t get what he said, it was a lie. And he was shocked. And he was shocked. So I said, do you have to be good to go to heaven? Yes. And my brother, he jumped up out of the seat. He grabbed his heart and fell down on the floor right in front of me.
the kids in the whole place and they were looking. I said, no, no man, no, this can’t happen. And man, I put on a show you and believe. I wish that had been videotaped. And I said, boy, I wish I could hear the trumpet and he blew the trumpet. And when he blew the trumpet called Nazi, I got their attention up here. And now that hit back there and it scared those kids to death. We had a bunch of them trust the Lord that night.
Now, I wouldn’t do that Here. Doesn’t Jesse play the trumpet? Look up here. This is you and me. This wallet represents sin. We all have sin on us. Whatever it is, we’ve done it. We have all sinned because the fall is real. Sin is in this world and we’re all messed up. Because of how much right we want to do, we can’t perform. We are failures. But the Bible says God loves us and he hates our sin. But to pay for that sin, eternal separation from God in hell.
God wants us to go to heaven. To go to heaven, you have to be perfect. righteous is God and none of us are perfect, none of us are righteous. So because of sin we can’t get in. So what can we do? Nothing. The law has already found us all guilty. So by the law is the knowledge we’re all sinners, can’t save ourselves. So why try to save yourself by the very thing that condends you? And there’s people trying to live good enough hope they make it.
This man represents Jesus Christ. He’s the Lord God in the flesh. Came into the world because he loves us. Hates our sin because our sin separates us from the Lord. So Jesus Christ who had no sin didn’t have to die so he took all the sins of the world paid for on the crossing came back from the dead. Said that if you and I would believe that he did it for us he would put this payment to our account and we get to go to heaven on what Christ did for us.
That’s the best news in the world. And here you and I are. You can either believe it or not. You’ve got until you die. I told a man one time. I said, well you believe that? He says, nah, I said, do me a favor. Don’t die. Don’t die. Because when you die, you will believe, but it’ll be too late. So if If you’re here this morning and you’ve never trusted Christ as your Savior, I would believe it. Don’t add to it.
Don’t try to take anything away from it. God means what He says. If you’ll believe it, that payment He made will be put to your account. You go to heaven on what Christ did for you. He says He’ll never cast you out and never lose you. Let’s pray, shall we? But His bow and eyes close and no one looking around. If you have never trusted Christ as your Savior, maybe you’ve heard about it. He’s going to church all day life.
But are you really saved? Do you really believe the Bible? There is no other way would you right now say yes, that made sense to me. And I will trust Christ as my Savior this morning and preach I’d like for you to pray for me. Would you just slip your hand out very quickly, put a right back down anywhere at all? Not going to have you forward, not going to embarrass you, arrive where you’re sitting. Then what at all?
You that are watching by internet. I pray that what was said, help you to understand the importance of trusting Christ as your Savior right now. Father, thank you so much for all that you’ve done for us. Coming into this world in order to deliver us from a sinful wicked evil world. To give us eternal life so that when we leave here, we can go there. Thank you in Christ’s name we pray. Amen. Are you a new listener to Bible Life?
