Well, anyway, today I want to talk to you on a subject that I taught while I was at Florida Bible College, and I was teaching the Sunday school class, and I had the youth group on a Sunday night. So I sat down one day, and I’d, no, I’d been listening to Dr. Stanford, and I’ve done, I’ve done, heard Dr. Mark Cameron, and on dispensations, and what’s gonna happen, and in the future, and of course, I have an inquiring mind, and I wanna know.

So I didn’t wanna just say something because well they said it. Very seldom do I try to prove anything by quoting somebody else because that’s not the authority. It’s either truth and it’s in the Bible or it’s not. If it’s there, it’s the word. So what I’ve tried to do over the years is find out what the Bible says and believe what I believe, not because I’ve read a bunch of books on a particular subject. Now people can give you ideas, but you still gotta strain it through the truth of what the Word of God says.

You know, it’s kind of like having an open door, but it’s good to keep a screen on it and it’ll keep the bugs out. So I don’t mind having an open mind, but I think I need to filter things through the Word of God. So I sat down one day and I kind of made a list of what I considered in Revelation chapter 17 about this woman, this woman that rides scarlet colored beast. And I’ve heard it’s wrong that sits on the seven heels.

And it could be this nation or this nation and who is this woman. And I’ve heard a lot of things. But I thought about what if I could sit down and just read the Bible as though I knew nothing about the world, nothing about any religion, nothing about any other country or city or anything. If all I had was the Bible, could I understand what he’s talking about? And so I went and I showed Ray some of my notes and he looked at him and he says, no, no, no, no, that’s wrong, no, no, no, no.

I said you don’t believe it, no, no. So I put my notes aside for about seven years. I was in Colorado. So I got my notes out again and I rehashed them and you’ll notice up there it was November the 2nd, 1975. So that’s when these were done. So they are approximately, they’re old. But I do have a, you know, a mind that’s curious And so I’m not saying so that you understand in upfront this is in concrete But it’s how I thought then which was about 40 years ago or more But I haven’t really changed my mind since then because I don’t have yet a reason to change my mind But I’m always open to truth when it comes to prophecy because I love prophecy.

I always want to know what’s gonna happen next and And so whenever you look at the world situation and here you are over there with Russia moving into Syria and we know that Russia is supposed to come down against Israel sooner or later, right? I mean don’t we know that? We know that. Don’t we also know that somewhere along the line all the nations of the earth are going to gather against little old nations of Israel, right? We know that to be true.

And we also know that there’s the Antichrist, the head of this last world government that’s going to come into the temple and claim himself that he’s God, so we know that the temple has got to be rebuilt. Right? Temple’s got somewhere along the line. We also know and believe that there’s got to be a peace treaty made somehow with Israel in order for this Israel, who I believe is considered a woman, to ride a beast. The beast doesn’t like the woman, but it’s forced to make a peace treaty, but it breaks the peace treaty.

But we know that it’s supposed to be about seven years. And in the midst of the week, it’s gonna break loose. Great persecution. So how do you put all those things together? Now it’s easier to take and say well maybe the woman is Babylon and some believe maybe the last world power, you know it’s America. And so there’s people who are coming from everywhere and in over the years some people will say the Antichrist is this pope but then that pope died.

And then this pope and then that pope died. It was Kissinger. I don’t remember it was Kissinger. But he’s off the scene and then it was this guy and then this guy. It’s Obama and I’ve heard everything. So we’re going to have a vote this morning, find out who it is. Well whatever you decide, it ain’t me. So I do want us to look at these scriptures and I’m trying to figure out how I’m going to say all that I want to say before we have communion service this morning and so taught fast.

I heard that. I’m not a fast talker you’re just slow here’s so wouldn’t be interested you could speed up your hearing well anyway I want you to take your Bible and turn to the book of Daniel chapter 9 and follow me as we go through these notes on here because I think you might find it a little interesting. You don’t have to agree with this to go to heaven, isn’t that wonderful? Because salvation going to heaven is a gift.

It’s totally free. All we have to do, something we can do is trust Christ as our Savior. He gives us a free gift eternal life. We get to go to heaven whenever we die. So here in the book of Daniel and chapter 9, looking verse 24, verse 24, as He is reaching into this prophetic stage here about the children of Israel and what’s going to take place, He says 70 weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city.

Thy people is the nation of Israel and upon thy holy city we believe is Jerusalem. Now most people wouldn’t have a problem with that. But we’re leading into, and he’s already done gave several prophecies and other chaptersiameter about the things that are going to happen in the last days, this last government dealing with the nation of Israel. Israel is the central point of the whole book. It’s about what God’s going to do in the tribulation period. And the question always come down is how long is tribulation period.

So he gives us some scripture here and he tells us some things that are going to happen. Then notice what he says in verse 25. Verse 25, “‘Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah, the Prince shall be seven weeks, three score and two weeks, the street shall be built again even in triplets times.” So the Bible tells us what is going to take place. Now if you look their in your notes where I have verse 25, Daniel 9, 25 in your notes, you see it’s multiplied by seven and so seven sevens is 70 is 490 years.

So you have here 434 years after the temple because there was a certain 39 years that were used for the building of the temple and so it takes you right up until the Messiah is cut off. So when we know when Christ was cut off, that was a total of 483 years until the Lord Jesus Christ died. So in the Old Testament, telling us how long it’s going to be from that point until the Messiah will be cut off was going to 483 years.

483 from 490 would leave seven years left. Now that’s seven years. This is what we talk about the tribulation period, seven year tribulation period. This is that period of time that is yet in the future. Now, where we are, we are right here. We’re right before the rapture takes place. The rapture is where Christ comes in the air and takes all the believers. Ready or not, here I come. Obedient or disobedient. Spiritual or carnal. You’re out of here. God’s going to take us out of this world and we will go to the Judgement Sea of Christ.

Then the 70th week. Because it was up until Christ died, it was the 69th week. 483 years from the time they issued the decree to go back and to rebuild their temple. So we know this and it’s generally accepted among most Bible theologians. So I believe it’s taught in the Bible. Now look at the next statement. I want you to take your Bible and go to the book of Matthew chapter 24. Matthew chapter 24. In Matthew chapter 24, you’ll notice that Jesus was talking to them about when he’s coming back and about the tribulation period.

They asked the question. He answers the question. They said, how long is it gonna be? Because they’re sitting here talking to Jesus Christ before he died on the cross. Now Jesus is not going to talk to them about what happens here to here. this period of time, see, that’s the church age. So this is part of this. There’s a 69th week, well the 70th week is way over here. One day when the raptor takes place, we’re taken out and this period of time moves right on over.

And it’s like it never had an ending. This is like a parenthetical expression in a sentence. you can take it out without hurting the flow of the sentence. But it’s there because Israel rejected Christ as Savior. So when they rejected the kingdom, the kingdom was postponed, moved out into the future. It doesn’t mean it’s not going to happen. It’s going to happen just like God said it’s going to happen. But there’s been a temporary little setback and that’s where we are in the age of grace, the church age, the body age, that’s us.

And this is where we are. Here in Matthew in chapter 24, as he begins to answer them, look what he says in verse 15. Verse 15 is a pivotal verse because he says, when ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet in the whole place, that’s in the Old Testament where we were just a moment ago, says that when ye shall see the abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel of the prophet. This is when the Antichrist, headed up by the devil himself in the mist of that week, and when you go back to Daniel chapter 9 verse 27, in the mist of the week, he will cause the sacrifices to stop.

That means that they will have to be started again. He can’t stop something that hasn’t started. So it’s going to start and then the Bible says this is a 70th week of Daniel that was prophesied. This is what’s yet ahead of us. So here we are, we’re not looking for and we’ll never have or experience a utopia upon this earth. Our politicians are not going to get us out of this mess. As much as you may want them to, they might prolong it a little bit and give us a little stay of peace and joy and happiness and tranquility, But, buddy, chaos is on the way because man will not make the right decisions.

He’s not going to live by biblical principles. And so our politicians don’t even know what this is all about. It would be great, I think, if all the politicians would come to Calvary Community Church and let me indoctrinate them. Now, so this seven-year tribulation in verse 15 is the center because He says this is in the midst of this seven years. So we know we’re chapter 24 and verse 15 is in verse 21 and then shall be great tribulation.

That’s this last three and a half years. But the first part of it is peace and safety. It’s the promising. So that we know there’s going to be somebody come on a scene promising peace and safety to the world and I believe it’ll be a unining of all the nations of the world and they’re going to just say if we only had one government look at the peace we would have, the joy we would have. Who are you going to have to fight if it’s all just one?

See there? It’ll make sense. It’ll be logical. One world currency, one world religion, one world government, man and health for all. See, man can promise everything they want to. And as interesting as I listen to these debates and so forth going on, how they promise what they’re going to do. Do you know not one of those presidents can keep his word if the house and the Senate don’t vote for it? He can’t do nothing. He’s limited. I believe that America need to violate every one of these so-called presidential executive decisions if it’s not constitutional.

We have no authority to obey them. We’re supposed to obey constitutional law. And when it’s not that, it is our duty to rise up and rebel against it. That’s just a little yank-yologist’s sideline. Now you’ll notice in the first part of this, in verse eight, he says, these are the beginning of sorrows. So look here, this is the beginning of it. This is gonna be the ending of it. And so God has already prophesied what’s going to take place.

So in the book of Matthew, you don’t find anything about the rapture. You don’t have anything about the rapture in the Old Testament, except a few types about the rapture. But the rapture is where God says, He hath not appointed us to this day of wrath. He appointed us to escape this wrath. And then the Bible talks about Christ coming back and powering great glory. They knew this in the Old Testament. When Christ was here, He talked about this.

Even Enoch talked about He was coming with thousands and so forth of His saints. So that’s going to take place. Now, notice there in the book of Daniel, chapter 11. We’re going back to Daniel, and you can see the scriptures that we’ll be looking at. So you can go ahead and be there before I ever mention it. But there in the book of Daniel, chapter 11, And I want you to see there in chapter 11 and verse 36. Chapter 11 verse 36, where he says, “‘And the King shall do according to his will, and he shall exalt himself, magnify himself above every God, then in verse 38, but in his estate shall he honor the God of force.”

This is not a God of love, this is God of force. And it’s coming. And then look down in verse 41. He shall enter also into the glorious land, which we believe is the land of Israel. And down in verse 45, and he shall plant the tabernacle of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain. Remember, 70 years are determined upon the high, or 70 weeks upon thy people Israel, and thy holy city Israel. And so we believe he’s talking about in the land of Israel.

And he’s talking about he will go into the temple, he will claim himself that he is God, manifest himself that he is God, and demand that people worship him as God. Now, if we take these scriptures in the Old Testament, we know it says he’s gonna do that in the land of Israel. He’s going to the temple, and there he claims that he is God, and he’ll rule from there. Years ago, when I got to thinking about this, I want you to look at the next to the last line I have on the back of your page.

See there on the next to the last line, Revelation 1713, Jerusalem, and I put this down, has to become an international city. It has become an international city. I don’t know when, I don’t know how, but cause of what he’s talking about here, if he is the head of this last world government, then it has to become an international city. Now as time goes on and people live and people die and countries come and countries go and all the rest of the goes on, it has to be where in the last days all these nations will gather themselves against Jerusalem the battle.

But when he gathers them together to battle it’s at the end of the tribulation period and why come here? Well there’s a reason and I believe the Scriptures are clear. Now not everybody agrees with me that it will become an international city. I do believe somewhere along the line, this United Nations or United Notions have got to come to the place where how can they guarantee peace in the Middle East? So far they have not been able to come up with any peace in the Middle East because there is no teeth in the United Nations.

They can’t enforce anything. Something has to bring these three major religions, if you want to put it that way, to the peace table. So you’ve got Judaism, you’ve got the religion of Islam, and you’ve got Christianity, all claiming this Jerusalem is their Mecca. It’s where they come from. It’s right there. so you can go . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . How are you going to have all of this take place?

And then you’ve got to talk about the temple. They’re already having problems about the mosque over there now. They believe there’s some erosion, maybe going on, and something ground. And one of these days, they’re biting them. Well, I am behind Israel. 100%, no reservations. I believe God gave them that land. And it belongs to them. And I believe that question. is their temple site and I don’t believe it all to be parted and divided and all the rest of it.

But he’s saying this is what’s going to come is what’s going to take place. Now take your Bible and turn to the book of Revelation in chapter 11, Revelation chapter 11. See all these things have to agree and you can get some of the order of what has to take place from the book of Daniel because there’s a lot of symbolism and so forth in the book of Revelation, but it has to agree with the book of Daniel. So instead of trying to use your imagination, use the scripture and see lo and behold if it doesn’t fit and come out a little bit better.

Now look there in chapter 11 of Revelation, verse 1, he says, and there was given me a read like a toward Rod and the angels stood saying, rise and measure the temple of God. Wait, wait, wait, wait, what temple? There is no temple. This is in the tribulation period of the temple that they had. Of course, they had Solomon’s temple and it was destroyed and then they came in and built the next temple and then Herod added to it.

And so they beautified it. And now it’s called Herod’s temple. And that was destroyed in 70 AD. So there hasn’t been a temple in almost 2,000 years. Now, what’s interesting? And I just say just interesting. So from the time that the temple, fall of the temple in 70 AD, 70 AD, 70 years, but it reaches into the church age. But then whenever you consider the nation of Israel, I have to have been out of the land for all those years, come back to the land, become established as a nation.

Well, what if you had 70 years from the time they came back and became a nation in 1948 and you had 70 years to that? What would you come up to? You figured out, I haven’t even added it together. I haven’t even looked at it. But I bet just close to where we are today. Anybody done it yet? So in 1948, 70 years, 70, and they go back from time to their predation, and you put another 70 on 1948, what would you come up with?

2018? You know, that’s pretty close, isn’t it? But it may not have anything to do with anything. You know, I hate these date setters. There’s always some little desire inside of you says, I wonder if we can figure this out. I still have an inquiring mind and I want to know. So here you have what’s going to happen right here. The tribulation period is coming. It’s the 70th week of Daniel. So what he says here in that middle of chapter 11 of Revelation and verse one verse two, he talks about, and the Gentiles talks about the 42 months.

Now how long is 42 months? It just happens to be three and a half years. So we know that the Antichrist is going to come into the temple that’s got to be rebuilt. Can you see Israel rebuilding that temple? Start it tomorrow. What do you think that would do with all the Muslims around the world? Now Something has to happen. Something. I don’t know what, but something is going to take place. You just remember you heard it here. And you watch and see if somewhere along the line, they don’t talk about having an international city of Jerusalem.

It’s the most furthest thing from anybody’s mind, but I thought of this 40-something years ago. And when I went there, the night before I was with Hank Lindstrom, We went on our first meeting in 1985. So we’re over in Israel. In the night before I’m thinking, I’m dreaming, I can’t. I was hyper, I was wired. Kind of like what I am now.

But when you start talking about prophecy and the Lord coming back and all these things, it ought to get you excited about living life. But I laid there that night and I kept dreaming. And I dreamed that I walked up on the temple mount. And there I was and I saw this mosque. I haven’t even been there yet. I didn’t know how it was even laid out. And I could see it and then I realized it doesn’t have to go there.

So I walked and I looked at the Mount of Olives and I looked where the Eastern Gate is and I kind of lined it up because I believe it has to go and I thought I couldn’t wait to get there. And I went up on the Temple Mount and I looked at that thing for real the first time. And I walked over and I lined up and I said, this is where it’s got to go. It’s got to go right here.

This is where it’s got to go. Does that mean that’s where it’s got to go? Well, of course, because I said so. No, I don’t know. But that’s what I believed. And I believe this temple can go right here. This is where the temple ought to go. And that they were off on them. And where they put their thing, because this was before they believed Abraham was offered up his son Isaac and so forth. Isaac and so forth on Mount Moriah.

So all these things do get interesting. But look at the last part of verse two, shall they tread underfoot 40 and two months? That’s three and one half years. Now, take your Bible and turn to the book of 2 Thessalonians, 2 Thessalonians in chapter two. 2 Thessalonians chapter two, and he’s telling them about this period of time. He said, don’t think for a moment that the persecution and the suffering that you are going through now there in Thessalonica is this period of time.

He says, this period of time right here is not what is the tribulation period. As though this day is here, it’s not here yet. He says, if somebody writes to you or tells you, this isn’t yet. He says before Christ comes back here, first of all, there has to be a departure and then the man of sin, then the Lord coming back and powering great glory. So he breaks it down here, he also does the same thing in the book of 1 Thessalonians in chapter 4 and chapter 5.

When he talks about we, we and us are the children of the day, the light, and they then they are the children of the night. This is day, this is night. This is the day, a different day, a thousand years long. This is a day, two days, two thousand years long. What separates two days? A night. This is the night. This is why the light has gone, darkness has arrived, Satan is ruling, and things are looking bad, and all the promises and pledges, and all the lies that have been told is all going to come down upon this world.

And it’ll be the worst period of time the world has ever known. There’s never been a time like it before. So God God says He hath not appointed us to this night. We will be taken out then the tribulation period and then Christ comes back in power and in great glory. Are you a new listener to Bibleline? Do you enjoy the teachings of Dr. Arnold?
